Clinton says it's time to "turn up the heat" on Republicans.

DES MOINES, Iowa (CNN) - Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton says she's "turning up the heat" on the Republicans, taking aim at the party numerous times in her speech at the Iowa Democratic Party's Jefferson Jackson Dinner Saturday.

With what appears to be the beginning of a new campaign slogan for the New York senator, Clinton used the phrase "turn up the heat" to emphasize that Democrats should be launching their attacks on Republicans instead of spending their time looking at "who's up and who's down and who says what about whom."

"We have to ask ourselves, 'what is this election going to be focused on?' Clinton said. "I'll tell you what I want to do. I'm not interested in attacking my opponents. I'm interested in attacking the problems of America, and I believe we should be turning up the heat on the Republicans. They deserve all the heat we can give them."

"You listen to the Republicans who are running this year," Clinton continued. "They see eight more years of George Bush. They see a nine trillion dollar debt and say lets spend trillions more. They see that we had one rush to war, and they say wait why not have one more?"

Clinton said that Americans are "done with Republicans and their failed policies" and added that "Democrats need to decide what [they] are for."

Clinton listed a number of things that she says Republicans are unwilling to "fix," like No Child Left Behind, the growing concern over healthcare, and the environment. After each bullet point, Clinton asked the audience of about 9,000 Iowa Democrats, "What are we going to do?" and each time the throng of Clinton supporters shot back, "Turn up the heat!"

Every day people had a stronger bond back then people trusted people. You didn't hear about each and every person of importance being drug thru the mud like you do now. Here comes Hillary again! First there was the primary mode campaign, let's win the Democratic nomination by "bashing bush". Now, the best way for me to win the 2008 Presidency, "BASH other Republicans besides BUSH"! Yes Hillary we get the Republicans are responsible for alot of mess we are in, but Democrats share blame also. If you want to turn of the heat, then be forthright with the American people and tell us what you will do specifically to address the nation's critical problems.

Awww poor Hillary doesn't like all the attention since everyone notices her waffling, dodging, dancing, planting questions, crying swiftboat, etc. No, let's point fingers over there – at the Republicans. Yeah... over there... not here... there.

Ba-Bye Hillary. Conservatives don't want you, intelligent democrats (Obama, Edward supporters) don't want you, Kathleen Willey (woman sexually assualted by your husband) doesn't want you.

It's time you quietly go into retirement with your loving husband Bill. Although current Vegas odds has you divorcing Bill 6 months from the moment your political career is over.

Oh yeah, the last Clinton in office left us with a weakened military, less human intelligence on the ground, and a terrorist mastermind that had attacked us 8 times that he wouldn't even take when offered to him by the Sudan.
Hillary is just what we need, if we want more scandals, more terrorist attacks, more money laundering, more sex in the white house, more wag the dog and more questions like what is *is*.
Our country deserves better than this political dribble.
Obama seems genuine and concerned about making changes that are real and positive. He hasn't had time to become corrupt as the Clintons are. lastly I think Obama can work with a mixed Senate and Congress.
Thanks to Hillary to make the choice very clear, Obama has the vote.

Funny how everyone is clamoring for change, yet we have had 16 Years of the Bushes in the White House and 8 years of the Clintons. Now we want to add another 4 – 8 years for the Clintons? 32 years with 2 families in office does not strike me as change!!

To Mark in Belgium,

Please stay out of our politics. We stay out of yours.

Your Socialized healthcare is a gift from the United States. During the Cold War, the United States subsidized NATO and other European Country's military spending. Since your Government did not have to pay to defend themselves, they were able to make healthcare a priority for you.

We paid for your healthcare – not you. We also paid for your protection, not you. So if you don't mind, please keep your opinions to yourself.

Hillary sez, "They see that we had one rush to war, and they say wait why not have one more?"

Ah yes, that 12-year "rush" to war.

Fact is, her husband should have been leading the charge against Saddam the first time he started playing a shell game with the UN Weapons inspectors in the early-mid 1990s.

Then again, he also should have been leading the charge against radical Islam the FIRST time they hit the World Trade Center. But on a positive note, he'll tell you that he was "feeling their pain," which I guess, is good enough for some people.

Reminds me of the scene in the old "Coming to America" movie, where Eric LeSalle's character said he would have helped Eddie Murphy's character take out a gun-toting thug who was robbing the restaurant, "but I was holding this cup of coffee, see..."

Here's a question I've been wondering about. When people stand up and say they are so proud to be an American and call our country the greatest on earth do they realize that Democrats controlled Congress for something like 50 years before, during and after WW11? So if you take great pride in your country shouldn't you recognize what parties policies had the longest beneficial effect?

Wynter, Loudon, NH   November 11th, 2007 6:46 pm ET

I just have to add. I find it so humorous reading all these negative comments from the Neocons of the GOP. It warms my soul to see them turning red and trying to flame the democratic candidates. Mostly, because they don't have a candidate worth being president on their primary. They have had eight years to build their empire and its coming down around them as they lost both the House and Senate due to this president's screwups.

Keep whining... Your time has come to an end.

Wynter, Loudon, NH   November 11th, 2007 6:38 pm ET

For eight years we "KNOW" what the Republicans want for us. They have had their chance and have messed it all up. Do I hear any rebuttal to this? Not a chance...

The Republicans have had control of Congress for six years while this president run us up to this useless war with Iraq. The Republican Congress has rubberstamped everything this president has asked and where are we now? Nowhere...

It's time to ask yourself. Do you want eight more years of this Bush-league politics? None of the Republican candidates have said they will end this administration's mistakes. And they all beat the war drums when asked about Iran. It's a "slamdunk" that we are facing another term of war if we let the Republicans control the White House or Congress.

It's time we said with a single voice, "NO MORE!!". It's time for change and it's time a Democratic President as the Republicans haven't learned their lesson after eight disgraceful years.

Hillary supporters....maybe we are missing something....

(let me know if I misstate anything)

Hillary voted for the war (with the same intelligence) – correct?

Hillary voted for funding for the war each and every times (except the last time) – correct?

Hillary wants to provide licenses to illegals..or maybe she doesn't – if you can make sense out of her non-answer....you are doing better than 95% of Americans. – correct?

Yet...you still back her statements like "They see eight more years of George Bush. They see a nine trillion dollar debt and say lets spend trillions more" – huh?? now you dummies really don't buy this...do you?? I mean...omg....if our education system has failed us this badly....baffling cult the DNC is....they can make you see what they want you to see....

Mike, VA   November 11th, 2007 5:53 pm ET

I didn't have a chance to listen to Hillary's speech but I trust she was pointing to the issues in a thoughtful and realistic way. I listened to Obama's speech that, honestly, is well delivered and forceful. Though you can notice his civil rights vocabulary .. 'principles', 'hope', words that please the masses, kind of socialist orientation. Unfortunately, the world is more complex, and this civil rights talk can cover just a bit.

I believe Hillary has a better understanding of how to improve the current situation, she has what it takes to be a good leader. I don't trust Obama's ability to act in the real world. All his experience is about 'fighting' the authority not being one.

Plus, if nominated, he would be an easy target for Republicans – you can anticipate how they will remind voters Obama's Muslim background. Don't underestimate Republicans' ability to play this card and Americans' naivety to believe them.

I am sorry but this seems like a bait and swtich manuever to me. Don't question me, but let's focus on the Republicans.

This is a classic manuever ,to take the magnifying glass of of her and put it on her competition.

We need to question her but all the candidates. Not just Democrats but Republicans as well.

If we as voters do as she says, you may be voting for someone or their policies that you don't understand, and can hurt you in the end.

Don't be fooled by this.

Since the other democratic candidates and the public are now demanding answers, Hillary now switches to the old standby of "fighting the republicans". This is the primary, we the voters are choosing a democratic nominee among a group of democrats not the republicans – that comes later in the general election.

Yes, Hillary I agree you have battled the republicans endlessly, but to what end. Bill lost the congress to the republicans, your health care was a disgrace. Your battles consist of personal battles – never anything for the well being of the citizens of this country. Nothing of significance was ever accomplished by your battles – nothing ever is.

It takes logic and good judgement, neither of which you have.

There is a word for any Democrat that will spend time focusing on Republicans before Hillary has left the race.

Her tactic is now to bait and switch as she continues to lose ground at a fast rate. The idea to win the presidency is to race against your current opponent right up to the convention. Then if you get the nomination you have plenty of time to focus on the opposition.

What's the percentage of stupid people in this country? The Hillary and Bush haters can never give credit where credit is due. How many people out there are capable of reasoning and weighing issues? How many of you losers here on the Ticker can concede a point to someone you won't necessarily vote for? Our democracy is going to hell.

No wonder intelligent, rational people don't bother entering politics. It's nothing but serving special interests, and using cliches and buzzwords so the most feeble-brained "citizens" will vote for them. Single issues for single-minded people.

I'm NOT a Ron Paul supporter, but he was absolutely correct with his assessment of why we were attacked on 9-11, and then he was ridiculed by Giuliani. And yet Giuliani is now the number one candidate for the Republicans? Do we want another administration based on knee-jerk reaction policy and John Wayne posturing? Hillary's not perfect, but at least she presents some semblance of a thinking person.
What's the point? Most people don't have the faculty of reason and logic to actually debate here on the Ticker.

As a Republican, I ask fellow Republicans and Independents to caucus and vote for the candidate who wants to be President of the UNITED States of America – Barack Obama.

Maybe some off the wall reference to her supposed socialist healthcare proposal of the 90s. You know, the one where 3 insurance companies had to compete for your coverage every year. No whining and dining the CEO or posting inflated insurance rates to the employees to increase thier share of the costs. The last thing the insurance giants and the medicorp conglomerates want is competition. A catered lunch to the doctors office every week is so much more american. Indeed, it is the government's job to enforce accountability. And our current system does best – people either have the buy insurance and try not to get too sick or save up money for a rainy day.

After all, if you get cancer, but you had a spend spend lifestyle and failed to save any money or maintain any insurance, why should the taxpayer be responsible? Its YOUR problem. That's the problem with socialized medicine.

"JB-you really need to watch real news and stop the the fictional viewing such as FOX. You're becoming a laughing stock. Fox news has absolutely no credibility and neither do you."

JB, SHAMR on you for having an opposing opinion and watching a news network that isn't affliated with Rosey or Al Franken in any way!! SHAME, SHAME!!!

BTW, I'd like to know what specific qualities and experience make Hillary the best candidate over all other Dems and Reps as well.

Daniel, NY   November 11th, 2007 10:52 am ET

Clinton is collapsing in the Democratic primary. Check out yesterday's New Hampshire primary poll that has her lead cut in half by Obama.

Jack, Greenville, SC   November 11th, 2007 10:46 am ET

CNN, you guys are making it very hard to defend you against accusations of being solely pro-Hillary. From every other news source I come across, I glean that Obama had the speech of the night. You don't mention any other aspect of the JJ dinner. Help those of us who see you as a reputable news source by making extra effort be more even-handed.

Richard, St. Paul, MN   November 11th, 2007 10:46 am ET

While I'm not a fan of Hillary, I agree with her that the entire country should turn up the heat on the Republicans. Their corruption, lies, stupidity, cronyism and inept leadership have taken America down the wrong path and it's time for some Accountability!

BCNU purple state, usa   November 11th, 2007 10:36 am ET

Talk about lemmings! She makes a statement, they chant in return, and all the progressives call Republicans "blind followers."

Of course she wants to "Turn up the heat" on the Republicans, it's been a little hot in her kitchen lately, so much for co-opting Truman's line.

Repunlicans haven't attacked her, most of their criticisms have been responses to her shooting her trap off first. Be honest with yourselves and look back at this campaign season so far. She has bad-mouthed Bush at every turn and when it comes back at her somehow it's an attack by the vast right wing conspiracy or by the other candidates picking on the girl. The 'politics of piling on', give me a break. If you're gonna dish it out you better be able to take it!

Not one vote cast yet and she's already 'disenfranchised' the other side of the aisle if the tragic happens and she gets elected.

Do you honestly think the Republicans in Congress are gonna work with her after all of the smack she's been talking?

One thing she did have right, "Democrats need to decide what [they] are for." Start with yourself sister. I think the other guys have been fairly clear to this point.

"They see a nine trillion dollar debt and say lets spend trillions more. " I think Ron Paul has a slightly different take on it, so do some of the others. She's the one that wants to spend spend spend.

Healthcare, baby bonds, driver's licenses, keep the war going, vote for Kyl-Lieberman, earmarks out the wazoooooooo!

Give me a break!

Murray, NY   November 11th, 2007 10:34 am ET

Early 2008 Bumper Stickers:

Life's a b*itch, don't vote for one.

Hillary doesn't have the balls to be president.

bud, San Diego, CA   November 11th, 2007 10:16 am ET

Wasn't it just a couple days ago that Bill and Hillary were whinning about the other candidates "turning the heat up" on her at the debates? Why does she think she's "special?" Don't give the the gender reason, it doesn't count! This is a "candidate" race, not a race of women and men!

Does everyone get to "turn up the heat" on Hillary, too? She wanted into this fight and then started crying "gender" when she got smacked.

This election, no one will be able to claim that they voted for the "lesser of two evils." There is NO "lesser" in this offering.

And a message to ALL candidates. Please take note: YOU CANNOT BUY MY VOTE! Your "history" is all I'm interested in at this point.

Nick, Eden Praire MN   November 11th, 2007 10:11 am ET

I'm with Alan from St. Louis. It's one thing to talk and sound or look like a leader, it's quite another to be one. Hillary followed along with all these Republican policies. Her judgment is embarrassingly bad. And she's already sold her soul to the lobbyists. But even if you're willing to ignore all this just answer this question for me hillary supporters . If she's elected president, do you really believe she'll be able to get bi-partisan support for any of her policies through congress, or will the fight her at ever turn and we'll get more of the same of what we have right now where it's congress vs the president and neither can get any real changes through.

BK, Alexandria, VA   November 11th, 2007 10:02 am ET

"...They deserve all the heat we can give them."

And Hillary's not going to further polarize America? Yeah, right. Ask yourselves, do we need more of this rhetoric?

donna Seattle   November 11th, 2007 9:51 am ET

Slogan wars - now its "Turn up the Heat" vs. Obama's "Fire It Up."

Hillary keeps pulling this same stunt co-opting Obama's rhetoric but revealing a basic difference between the two candidates. Obama urges the individual to light the fire in themselves - he is moving people to action. Hillary message is that she will demogogue it for you - turn up the heat for you. Obama invites you join him to change things. Hillary asks you to trust her to do it. Hmmm. TRUST. CLINTON. ?

Silverspoon, lilburn, GA   November 11th, 2007 9:48 am ET

What is CNN agenda to ignore all the candidates including Obama's great call to lead all Americans?

Like Bush with his red enclave, Clinton cannot think beyond blue states
Looks like thats what CNN thrives, a divided, hawkish America

The voters are watching and know better than this

A. Thomas, New York, NY   November 11th, 2007 9:47 am ET

Yeah. Give them heck and bring home the nomination and presidency.

Go Hillary Go! Hillary 08!

jw, canadian,ok   November 11th, 2007 8:50 am ET

People, look at the issues, the Republicans are on the wrong side on all. The national debt today is over $9 trillion, I would've used that $9 trillion on healthcare, education and funding social security forever. Jeez.

Ron, Salem, MA   November 11th, 2007 8:49 am ET

"...best poster boy Hillary could ever hope for. Ironically enough, the same can be said for Bin Laden"

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING!!! How convenient to forget that Al Qaeda's training camps went unchecked during Clinton's entire administration. Clinton's utter LACK OF LEADERSHIP and UNWILLINGNESS to risk political capital to quell Al Qaeda in its infancy mushroomed to devastating consequences. Unfortunately, Clinton only acted when polls supported him. My God, get real and stop drinking the cool aid.

Sam, IA   November 11th, 2007 8:46 am ET

Ruth, nyc. David Yepsen is quoted nationally because he is the Republican darling at the Des Moines register, all true Iowans know he is just the shill of the republican party here. Enough said.

Hank, Fort Myers, FL   November 11th, 2007 8:43 am ET

These are the Primaries folks–let the candidates say what they want. Until we (the Dems) have selected a leader we can expect nothing but attacks from the RNC. But remember, no matter what–we need a candidate that will not: ignore corporate welfare; continue to raise taxes on middle class; shed American blood for shallow purpose; ignore important social concerns of the nation like childcare, social security, healthcare; marginalize the interests or ignore our important allies; thumb their nose at the U.N; skirt the constitution and laws of the nation to pursue their own agenda. We do not need this kind of person as President ever again!!

Gene L.A. Ca   November 11th, 2007 8:21 am ET

Bush is by far the best poster boy Hillary could ever hope for. Ironically enough, the same can be said for Bin Laden. Best recruiting tool Al Queda ever had was Bush. Bush is his and his parties own worst enemy. I know a larger number of Republicans know that now and that's why so many rats have jumped ship and distanced themselves from him. I can't help but love the bitter irony in all of this while watching the hapless right-wing reactionaries getting their Karmic justice. Them and their partisan allies on the high court stopped at nothing to get Bush in and successfully forced this buffoon on us despite the fact Al Gore won the popular vote by a million votes (give or take 537 ha ha!) and lo and behold Bush turns out to be the one biggest thing that would be responsible for bringing back what most foaming-at-the-mouth Republicans hate most in the world- The Clintons back in the White House! Go Hillary!

Sara, Ames, IA   November 11th, 2007 8:13 am ET

"Clinton said that Americans are "done with Republicans and their failed policies" and added that "Democrats need to decide what [they] are for."

What are Dems for? Socialism, entitlements, Govt regulation, higher taxes. All elements of European society and look at their economies (with the exception of Ireland)...stagnated with high unemployment.

The point is we do have problems that require addressing, but NOT using the European template.

JB Boston MA   November 11th, 2007 8:08 am ET

Kyu-

"There's no question about Hillary's great leadership, brilliant abilities, handling the situation and caring children and women"

If you can actually explain to me what gives you the idea that she has these qualities, I will listen. As will many others. I haven't seen it. Also, are you saying the other candidates DON'T care about women and children. The statement is absurd!

And by the way, Fox is now reporting that she planted more questions. And I'll save all you "progressives" the trouble.

Dan (Baltimore, MD)   November 11th, 2007 8:08 am ET

Notice how she took two positions in one sentence. She doesn't want to attack anyone, but she wants to attack Republicans. At least in the debate it took her a couple sentences to flip-flop on licenses for illegals.

The, she takes positions to go against the positions that she has already taken. She said she wants to keep the troops in Iraq until at least 2013. She said that she wants to spend billions more dollars on things like baby bonds, universal health care, and 401K bonds. She took a hard line against Iran. Is she trying to convince people she's more like a leader or more like a patient in the hospital for amnesia?

Linda Carpenter, Phoenix, Arizona   November 11th, 2007 8:01 am ET

I would hope that all of the Dems stop bashing eachother and go after Guliani, who is a true slimebag.
He takes credit for some made up heroism at 9/11, when he was really the problem. Putting his hdqtrs in the one place that every terrorist wanted to attack, the World Trade Center, for which he receioved a $100,000 donation from the owner the day after he put it there.
He was in charge of getting radios that police and firefighters could communicate with- those did not work. Hundreds of firefighters could have been saved if someone who REALLY cared about their welfare, rather than his own greed, had been mayor of NYC that day. He is a disgusting war profiteer, dare I say even worse than Bush, and a big war monger. Dangerous and corrupt. Stop bashing each other and go after the evil people who would continue the coup against our great government and Constitution

Ron, TX   November 11th, 2007 7:54 am ET

Typical Hill, blame the Republicans for everything, offer NO WAY TO FIX it.

Blame the Republicans for everything, vote with the war hawks.

Blame the Republicans for everything, except hundreds of thousands of dollars of health care lobbyists dollars and allow them to destroy your attempts at health care reform.

Blame the Republicans for everything, then follow Republican policy of not directly talking to foreign leaders.

Blame the Republicans for everything, then claim you can get Republicans to vote for you.

We need ANSWERS. We need ACTION. We need CHANGE IN WASHINGTON. We DON'T NEED more partisan politics. THINGS MUST GET DONE!

BARACK OBAMA '08

“I am running for president because I am sick and tired of Democrats thinking the only way to look tough on national security it talking and acting and voting like George Bush Republicans...
“When I am the nominee of this party, the Republican nominee will not be able to say I voted for the war in Iraq, or that I gave George Bush the benefit of the doubt on Iran, or that I support Bush-Cheney policies of not talking to leaders that we don’t like...
“I don’t want to spend the next year or the next four years refighting the same fights that we had in the 1990s ... I don’t want to pit red America against blue America.”- Barack Obama at the JJ Dinner last night.

Hillary is aging fast now. Bill Clinton comes to Canada and bashes the states all the time.

Enoch, Salt Lake City, Utah   November 11th, 2007 7:38 am ET

Who is going to show the Democrats "what they are for" when Hillary has no idea what she's for? She has a position to placate anyone; that is her position. I think that's it, no maybe it's different, oh well, she'll change again tomorrow.

Kyu Reisch, Radcliff, Kentucky   November 11th, 2007 7:38 am ET

There's no question about Hillary's great leadership, brilliant abilities, handling the situation and caring children and women. I think she is the most qualified candidate among 16 male candidates.
The 44th President, Madam President of United States of America,
Hillary Clinton!

Adam, Plano, TX   November 11th, 2007 7:35 am ET

anything to take the focus off her question planting!

Janet, Fairfax, VA   November 11th, 2007 7:23 am ET

...And EXACTLY what problems did your Hubby's administration "fix" other than passing spending bills presented from a Republican Congress that led to a balanced budget? I ask only because you like to cite his terms in office on your resume and pass is off a YOUR experience.

I don't recall health care reform amounting to anything, there was social security reform, but it too was a Republican bill Hubby signed. Hubby did not fix immigration and ignored the recommendations of the Jordan Commission. There was no Energy Bill to brag about during Hubby's terms. sO, AGAIN, EXACTLY WHAT WAS ACCOMPLISHED? Al Qaeda terrorist training camps flourished in Afghanistan without response from hubby. The intelligence community was decimated. Hubby made a terrific "deal" with North Korea...we see where that led. We never did find out what the definition of "is" is, according to Hubby. BUT, to give credit where credit is due...Hubby did resolve, kinda, the issue of gays in the military. Why that was a top priority escaped me at the time, but perhaps we are starting to understand why.

So, I have ask, please voters "turn up the heat" in questioning her claims of "EXPERIENCE".

Mac, Severn, Md   November 11th, 2007 7:19 am ET

Yes, she would like the Democrat party candidates to focus on the Republicans so they don't focus on HER!!

This is funny.

Richard, Des Moines Iowa   November 11th, 2007 7:16 am ET

What an inspiring speech she gave last night! I was there, and this sealed the deal for me! I'm caucusing for Hillary!

mark wilkes barre pa   November 11th, 2007 7:11 am ET

What is hillary for ? I have not heard her say exactly ?? Turn up the heat ? I would rather see her just get out of the kichen before she burns us all !!!!! I would much rather see my countries leaders fail TRYING to do somthing positive like No child left behind, or not have the success in areas of national importance that leader would like, the war in Iraq ( " history will have to show how that one will turn out ") Or not pushinging through a health care package that is mirrored on canada's already failed system and is sure to create staggeringly large government agencies bleeding our taxpayers dry. If hillary wants to focas on fixing the problems, than JUST SAY WHAT YOUR GOING TO DO LADY !! dont turn up the heat on the republicans,, turn up your game and stand for SOMTHING GEEESE Americans are not as gullible as we used to be ,,,

marc from indiana   November 11th, 2007 7:08 am ET

Good strategy. Turn the attention away from yourself. Your pathetic performance definitely needs a diversion.

TAUREAN, CHICAGO,IL   November 11th, 2007 7:03 am ET

SEE THIS IS THE REASON WHY I'M VOTING FOR HILLARY. SHE ALWAYS SHOWS GREAT LEADERSHIP AND STRENGTH ABLITIES, AND THAT'S WHAT WE NEED. TURN UP THE HEAT!

Steve, Portland, OR   November 11th, 2007 6:25 am ET

Yes we are upset with the Republicans. Guess what we are also upset with the Democrats. Neither of you are listening to the drowning American citizens while you argue who's right.

Sorry Hillary but the front runner in either party is open season for the others. Why should we take our eye off the front runner? Why are you trying to run the same old BS about the Republicans past us when more than likely the front leading Democrat will be the next President. Guess what? Many of us are wanting to hear what the other Dems are saying about you. Cause your tied into many things Americans do not want and don't seem capable of explaining your postions in common English that many of your constituents seem capable of understanding. Maybe in a couple months when you slip more in the polls you will be more comfortable about telling the nasties on the other candidates.I'll be voting for someone else.

Ruth Bethinger, NYC   November 11th, 2007 6:22 am ET

David Yepsen, who is the most respected Iowa political journalist, has weighed in on the speeches tonight: read what he has to say here.

NY SOLDIER, ROCHESTER NEW YORK   November 11th, 2007 6:18 am ET

CLINTON IS RIGHT ON THE MONEY! THE DEMOCRATS NEED TO FOCUS ON THE REPUBLICANS MORE THAN EACHOTHER! NOT EVERYONE BELIEVES THE SAME WAY, NO MTTER WHAT PARTY THEY ARE APART OF. BESIDES THE WAR IN IRAQ,THE REBUBLICANS ARE NOT CONCERNED ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE! IF THIS WAR NEEDS TO GO ON, THEN SO BE IT! THEREFORE, THE DEMOCRATS NEED TO "TURN UP THE HEAT" AND OPEN THE AMERICAN PEOPLES EYES TO WHAT THE REBLUBLICANS FAIL TO!

Sam, IA   November 11th, 2007 6:02 am ET

I can't wait to see the Hillary haters post thier diatribes as they react like trained seals to the latest post.
Go for it my deluded hate radio minnions.

alan St Louis MO   November 11th, 2007 5:36 am ET

I wounder how shes going to do that?

she votes for all the major republican issues.

YES for Iraq war
YES for next BUSH IRAN WAR
YES for BUSHES policies

But she denies it all.
How she votes in the senate. Is not whats she says to the people. But yet Clinton followers just stick their heads in the ground and go I love Clinton she is the best to fix the country. I dont know what to say besides the spins and smoke screen she tells us to say. Clinton can you tell me a question you want me to ask you? LOL I love you CLINTON I dont want to ask you a hard question that will expose your true colors.

She bashes Democrats on there global politics. Then claims them as her own.

Obama Naive for suggesting he will open diplomatic talks with Iran. Several mnths latter. I will open Diplomatic talks with Iran. lol

VOTE for CLINTON==STAUS QUO of the last 16years.

VOTE for CLINTON==A new REPUBLICAN congress in 2010 and NEW republican whitehouse in 2012 IS that why CAROL ROVE and RNC want a CLINTON to run in the race. WHO WAS PRESIDENT WHEN THE REPUBLICANS SMASHED THE ELECTIONS IN 1994??? AND WHY???? The Clinton PI**ed off the country. WHY REPEAT the mistake again.

GO BIDEN, OBAMA, EDWARDS
