Currently, sales tax is set at the state level, not the Federal level. The senators have nothing to do with this.

The libertarian part of me thinks people should be able to buy what they want, but the responsible and rational part of me realizes how harmful cigarettes are not just for the individual, but for people subjected to second-hand smoke. I smoked for over ten years and finally quit a couple of years ago. I have the feeling that cigarettes might be gone in about twenty years or so.
