When flag poles attack

Clinton had to contend with falling flag poles at a press conference Monday.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - She has come under increased heat recently from her Democratic presidential rivals, but on Sunday Sen. Hillary Clinton was on the receiving end of a different kind of attack - falling flag poles.

The Democratic presidential frontrunner was wrapping up a press conference in Waterloo, Iowa when several large flag poles directly behind her started to fall down, as shown on a video posted by ABC News.

Aides came rushing to the stage as Clinton herself tried to handle the falling flags crashing around her.

"I think the bases are not weighted enough," the New York senator can be heard saying on video captured by ABC.

After a couple minutes, the flags were successfully stabilized.

This is absolutley Hillary-ious! It's as if we are reading a bit of foreshadowing should the masses be duped into voting for her in the '08 elections.

All I know for sure, is, that if Hillary ends up being the Democratic candidate in '08, I'll be voting Republican for the first time in my 18 years of voter history.

Hey P from Portland, if you read (or checked the video), her and the aides rushed to keep the flags from touching the ground. Sounds like they did the right thing to me, inappropriate would be to leave them in that condition.

Oh no, I can't vote for Hillary because a flag fell behind her. This is way America is so mess up, and so full of hate.

Hillary will be president, if you don't like it move to Iraq.

I wonder if all those who credit "omens" like falling flags have consulted their Ouiji boards, tea leaves, Tarot cards, randomly-opened Bibles and other supernatural news channels. What else do the gods, demons and fairies have to say about the upcoming election?

It's a sad state when a large part of the populous still believes in omens or that inanimate objects have the ability to choose which candidate to root for. Yeah, I hear comet Hale-Bopp is coming back. Pack your bags.

Daniel's link to polls is the only post here worth reading. I guess the Hillary-haters get paid to post no matter how stupid the topic is.

This story is such a waste of time.... That being said, too bad Hillary's team can't plant the flagpoles like they are planting questions at her townhall meetings.

That is exactly what will happen if another Clinton is elected in the white house. We need to learn from past mistakes of her husbands affairs and use of our tax dollars to investigate him!

It's amazing to me that commenters actually think they're being somewhat witty by suggesting that "the flags falling is symbolic of what would happen if Hillary is elected." (1) Come up with something more creative and (2) It's some flags falling. Big deal.
