Chuck Norris is seeking campaign cash for Mike Huckabee.

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Fresh off endorsing Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee last month, actor Chuck Norris has penned a fundraising e-mail Tuesday on behalf of the Arkansas Republican, and he's making several demands.

"The first thing I need you to do today is make a contribution in support of Mike Huckabee's campaign," the "Walker Texas Ranger" star writes in the e-mail carrying the subject “Mike Huckabee is Chuck Norris approved”.

"The second thing I need you to do today is ask at least one friend to make a contribution to Mike's campaign," Norris continues. "The third and final thing I need you to do today is to tell your friends and family members that aren't able to contribute at this time to Mike's campaign to at least sign up for his email updates."

Norris endorsed Huckabee late last month, declaring in his online column, "I believe the only one who has all of the characteristics to lead America forward into the future is ex-Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee."

Huckabee registered 10 percent in the latest national CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll of registered Republicans. But the former Arkansas governor is doing considerably better in the early-voting state of Iowa. The latest American Research Group poll of likely Iowa GOP caucus-goers places him in second place with 19 percent — trailing former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney by 8 percentage points.

Too bad chuck norris doesn't use his special powers to deliver a roundhouse kick to the catcher's mit, i mean face, of hillary clinton. Did you know behind the beard of chuck norris there isnt a chin, only another fist. chuck norris doesn't sleep, he waits.

Mark Columbus, Ohio   November 13th, 2007 8:29 pm ET

Huckabee left the Arkansas GOP Party in shambles when he left. He's to liberal on economics. I won't be voting for him.

Gorbashov   November 13th, 2007 9:03 pm ET

Chuck Norris keeps his friends close and his enemies closer. Close enough to drop them with one round house kick to the face.

Chuck Norris once worked as a weatherman for the San Diego evening news. Every night he would make the same forecast: Partly cloudy with a 75% chance of pain.

Chuck Norris does not own a stove, oven, or microwave, because revenge is a dish best served cold.

Chuck Norris eats beef jerky and craps gunpowder. Then, he uses that gunpowder to make a bullet, which he uses to kill a cow and make more beef jerky. Some people refer to this as the "Circle of Life"!

More later.

Ah, Mr. Norris has several demands for us…..

Here is the kind of American our Texas Ranger Movie Star really is -

http://worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=56107

"If I'm elected president, I will…

Tattoo an American flag with the words, "In God we trust," on the forehead of every atheist. "
—————-
This is pure RepubliChristianoFascism(tm). This is the kind of respect for religious freedom and tolerance of others we can expect from the self-righteous conservative religioso.

Bruce Lee was a way better fighter than Chuckee Cheezee and Jackie Chan is a much better comedian.

If you show your face around here with your little tattoo kit you'll be running away with a Pagan Pentacle branded into your butt, Mr. Texas Ranger. I don't belong to the NRA, Charlton Heston is not my god, and I think it is terrible that Boy George opened up our markets to assault rifles, but I do have a few firearms and I guarantee you they will take down your lips of fury and breath of death.

"The queerest of bedfellows is a politician and a preacher orally servicing each other" - Pr0f F33st3r.

Honor separation of church and state. It is right - it is American, regardless of what some political demagogues would have us believe. Practice the golden rule. That is what our forefathers really wanted for us.

"Personally smoke out bin Laden by myself and round-house kick him all the way back to America, where my United Fighting Arts Federation will handle the justice issues."

Why wait until you are made president? Do it now and the US will give you the presidency. Take your scriptwriters and your hairdressers and your fluffers and shoe-buffers and make-up artists and special effects technicians with you. Don't bother volunteering "Ah-nee", he is busy starring in his own movie and would probably find you irrelevant anyway, but you are welcome to take Theodore Nooj with you.

Justa Thought   November 14th, 2007 4:42 am ET

As much as I love and respect Chuck Norris - he is WRONG on this.
Huckabee is NOT a conservative. He will NOT protect our borders. He wanted a Mexican embassy in Little Rock for goodness sake!

Antonio, Tempe AZ   November 14th, 2007 4:58 am ET

The best part of waking up is not Folgers in your cup, but knowing that Chuck Norris didn't kill you in your sleep.

With Chuck Norris' endorsement I don't see how any other candidate stands a chance. Thanks for putting up this important story once again CNN!

Mr. Huckabee is the only sincere man in the campaign and luckily he is for the whole Red, White, and Blue. He is probably the only one who can help heal a divided nation. Along with Mr. Senator McCain, they are the only unscripted candidates who have a depth of thought on all of the important issues facing America today. Mr. Obama may be that person for the Dems and he will probably win the nomination. The 2008 campaign will probably feature Obama/Richardson vs McCain/Huckabee. Together McCain/Huckabee will insure that Republicans hold on to the White House for the next 16 years.

Tom, ALBUQUERQUE, NM   November 14th, 2007 11:57 am ET

Mike Huckabee is shaping up to be the darling dark horse of the GOP. When he is weighed on all the issues important to republican voters, Huckabee is nonpareil. He doesn't have the marquee of Guiliani or the money motif of Romney but on issues he is going to sway a lot of primary voters. Huckabee hasn't wavered on his stance or tried to inflate his credentials. This man is the real thing.

What is funny is that Huckabee is actually the most likeable and talkative of all the republican candidates yet he is baptist which automatically disqualifies him for my vote.

Your last sentence proves my point. Just because many of them were Christians and they used their views to supplement documents does not make the United States a Christian nation. 1. Not true.

3. Does it not strike you as odd that the one document which counts, the Constituion, does not reference God?

And how many times is God mentioned in the Constitution? NONE!!! (Regardless of whether or not the "g" is capitalized).

Any document prior to the Constitution is immaterial to this discussion, because they were all superceded by the Constitution. And Article VI of the Costitution clearly states that there shall be NO RELIGIOUS TEST for holding office.

And since the first six presidents were not even Christians, this whole right-wing "we're a Christian nation" line is just so much bull - a lie created by fundamentalist Christians to try to alter history in their favor.

Actually, if you read the articles Norris wrote, he has some very compelling reasons for supporting Huckabee and rejecting the baseless claims of his opponents on Wall St. I think they're attacking him because he supports abolishing the IRS as far as individuals are concerned and replacing the income tax with a national sales tax. Sorry Chuck.

I am reading a lot of nonsense about guys like Obama and Huckabee being candidates for real change who will get rid of the corruption in D.C. How can they possibly do this when they have participated in it? Take a look at their positions, which stand for more needless intrusion of government into our lives, more welfare programs, continued taxes, more legislation, more spending and absolutely no change in this country's fiscal or foreign policy, which is absolutely needed!

Speaking of outsiders (nobody in the race can claim that except for one man), if you want REAL change, take a look at Ron Paul. He speaks the truth and stands by his opinions, even if they are unpopular, because they MAKE SENSE. Get your heads straight people, and don't vote for just another politician like these guys. Where do you think they get their money from? Hint: Chuck Norris ain't the only place… unions, lobbyists, special interests, and big corporations. Kevin Cincinnati, OH :

Ummm…before you make a bone-head comment, please THINK a bit. Tiny Tim was not only a fictional Dickens character, but also a real human being who was a 60's pop star, famous for his signature 'Tip-Toe Through The Tulips' song. This, I believe is the Tiny Tim the other commenter was referring to.

Chris, Denver   November 14th, 2007 1:20 pm ET

Oh, great. political advice from someone who has been roundhouse kicked in the head one too many times.

Rich, Madera, CA   November 14th, 2007 1:20 pm ET

I heard Rosa Parks didn't want to go to the back of the bus because she was saving her seat for Chuck Norris.

Chuck Norris must be right about Mike Huckabee…. the only time Chuck Norris was wrong about something when when Chuck Norris thought that Chuck Norris had made a mistake

BETTY PAGE INDEPENDENCE, MISSOURI   November 14th, 2007 1:21 pm ET

I APPLAUD MR. NORRIS'S STAND FOR FOR MR HUCKABEE'S CAMPAIGN. SOMEONE IN THIS COUNTRY HAS TO STOP BEING POLITICALLY CORRECT AND STAND UP FOR THE MORAL AND ETHICAL ISSUES THAT THIS COUNTRY WAS FOUNDED ON AND MADE THIS COUNTRY SO GREAT.

WE HAVE TO STOP THIS NONSENSE OF BOWING DOWN TO THOSE PEOPLE WHO WANT TO TURN THIS COUNTRY INTO A SOCIALIST COUNTRY. RUSSIA AND ALL OF THOSE PAST SOCIALIST COUNTRIES HAVE PROVED IT DOESN'T WORK.

IF WE DO WHAT MRS. NANCY PELOSI WANTS AND REMOVE THE WEALTHY FROM THIS COUNTRY, WE WILL SEE A COLAPSE IN OUR INFRASTRUCTURE OR SOCIETY.

Chuck Norris is awesome and I kinda like Huckabee personity, although I am not going to vote for him. If Gadlike Oparh cacn endorse Obama, Chuck Norris certainly can endorse Huckabee.

Tim, Toledo, Ohio   November 14th, 2007 1:27 pm ET

Tiny Tim was also a singer and song writer best noted for his rendition of "Tiptoe through the Tulips". He also died in 1996 so won't be endorsing anyone.

Tim, New Brunswick, NJ   November 14th, 2007 1:28 pm ET

WHat I find disgusting is that CNN thinks THIS drivel is "news-worthy" and yet they drop Mike Gravel from their next debate and have put NOTHING about his campaign on thier channel or Website.

Clint, Chillicothe MO   November 14th, 2007 1:29 pm ET

How sweet would it be if Chuck Norris himself ran for president?

Will Huck have Norris beat up Rudy if things go poorly in Iowa and NH?

CNN are you kidding, this isn't news. You know, many of us have said the same, but we still read it. I would say stop reading it, yet the uneducated will continue doing so. Please CNN, help wean the nations idiots off unintelligent and not important news.

RDK, WSS MT   November 14th, 2007 1:37 pm ET

Umm.. Kevin, Tiny Tim was a musician. Not too sure who you are referring to. Tiny Tim passed away in 1996.

M. Ryan, Allentown, PA   November 14th, 2007 1:38 pm ET

Why would Chuck Norris's opinion be of any greater import than anyone else? CNN must be short on news. To my knowledge, he is a born again Christian with religious right beliefs but his opinion is not laden with any more information than the average American.

Alexander, Washington, DC, USA   November 14th, 2007 1:38 pm ET

Chuck Norris' B-Rated infomercial career must really be on the ropes — To this day he can't even afford to buy a razor. His endorsement is almost laughable, Mike Huckabe is Gomer Pyle running for President.

T Tim,

Re: Umm… Tiny Tim is a fictional character whereas Chuck Norris is an actual human being. Also, I believe Mr. Tiny to be British and from the Victorian era, however, I could be mistaken.

OK, wow, LOL. I'll take care of this one.
Kevin, ye of little pop culture awareness, there was this guy, he was born in the '30s, he was American, he played a ukulele, sang in a preposterously high falsetto and he went by the stage name Tiny Tim. He died about 10 years ago.
He had nothing to do with Scrooge and Bob Cratchit and "God bless us, every one."
Jeez!

It's amazing what crawls out of the Republican Party's closet; Chuck Norris, a Christian phony do-gooder who gives lessons on how to beat people up.

Important….very, very important.

Anonymous   November 14th, 2007 2:01 pm ET

All the republicans out there that criticize liberal celebrities for getting involved in politics are probably not saying the same about Chuck Norris endorsing a candidate.

Nerd, Denver CO   November 14th, 2007 2:02 pm ET

rofl. A nobody whose greatest skill (and I use the term loosely) is acting like a neanderthal in front of a camera telling us what we need to do. I have to agree with the post above asking CNN to stop reporting garbage… of course that would mean ditching the 'politics' tab. They've got everyone so distracted with 'the Republicans this' and 'the Democrats' that, that most people don't see what a cesspool our government has become.

As to this thread… welcome to Barrens chat.

David - Ventura, calif   November 14th, 2007 2:08 pm ET

Chuck - you know I worked for you back in the early 70's - your a hello f a martial artist - but you need to stay out of politics - politician are thiefs and liars - plan and simple - look at the mess our country's in now -largest deficit in US history - we're in debt to several countries over this war - the dollar is falling like rain out of the sky - environmentally, education and home security are all failures - and the beat goes on

Mike the S, New Orleans, Louisiana   November 14th, 2007 2:09 pm ET

For ten years I've listened to all the neocons blathering about Hollywood celebrities interfering in politics. If it was Barbra Streisand or Ben Affleck doing this, you'd have Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly spinning in their chairs. So who the hlll is Chuck Norris to solicit money for a candidate and why isn't he getting the same scrutiny the neocons would have given anyone supporting a Democrat?

Zeus Racine, WI   November 14th, 2007 2:15 pm ET

I didn't realize that chuck norris could write…

Charles Jax,FL   November 14th, 2007 2:16 pm ET

I can see how the libs here would jump so quickly on this to negatively comment on the endorsement of any Republican candidate. After all, when the democratic contenders are endorsed by our enemies, IE: terrorists and their state sponsors, you really have to try to dig out of the hole somehow.

Linda C. Kemp, Tampa, Florida   November 14th, 2007 2:16 pm ET

I totally agree with Church Noris in his decision to support Mike Huckabee. Mr. Huckabee presents himself with confidence amd integrity and is clear in his answers to any question presented to him without hesitation. Not like the Democratic candidates running for the office of President, who really have not answered questions especially with regards to immigration situation, with their solution. Republican candidates have been drilled by MEDIA reps over and over. Why not drill the Democrats as well? HUH???

Mike Huckabee is for smaller goverment, the Fair Tax Plan (end of the IRS), Education,Sanctity of Life, and my 2nd Amendment rights.

Let get rid of the Power Mongers and return the goverment to the people, for the people and by the people.

TheChrisBerry   November 14th, 2007 3:31 pm ET

Huckabee's a commie!

John Atlanta, GA   November 14th, 2007 3:44 pm ET

Chuck Norris is a very radical, right-wing religious fundamenatlist…which means he has a lot in common with Osama bin Laden other than the beard.

People who personally know Norris or have worked with him have said when he became a "born-again" Christian, he became very judgemental, self-righteous and hateful. Over the past few years, Norris has made some extremely hateful comments, including the idea of using violence towards homosexuals, illegal immigrants, Muslims and basically anyone who refuses to be brainwashed by the Christian Right.

Norris is a hero in his own mind.

This endorsement will be as helpful as Rudy G. getting the support of Pat Robertson.

Josh, Atlanta, GA   November 14th, 2007 3:47 pm ET

Better do what Chuck Norris says. He'll kill you!

Steve, San Diego, CA   November 14th, 2007 3:50 pm ET

God originally picked Chuck, but he was busy giving nun-chuck lessons. "Let Jesus do it" was his suggestion.

Nun-chucks wait for him.

Steve, Lyons, CO   November 14th, 2007 5:05 pm ET

What a shock! Bible thumper Norris supports a christian fanatic.

Yawn.

Ed,Ellenville,New York   November 14th, 2007 5:26 pm ET

Does Huckabee approve of Norris? I don't think Huckabee is a subversive anti-government theocrat. This sounds more like a smear campaign against Huckabee. CNN please ask him. Does Huckabee endorse our secular democracy or not? These Norris stories have both been one-sided. Anti-american.

And don't forget to invite Mad Max! He is a More-Perfect ™ Christian that has unresolved issues with some of those people over there. He would probably love to go with you. It would make a great action flick!

Steve--US Army 01-06 Charlotte, NC   November 15th, 2007 12:17 pm ET

Anyone who wants to advance the whole "Christian Nation" argument should read this:

Article III
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

It's from the US CONSTITUTION. Clearly the founding fathers wanted to keep religion the heck out of politics. That would be my first question for Mike Huckabee–what are you going to do to keep religion (yours or anyone else's) out of politics and therefore preserve the Constitution of the United States of America?

Lynn, Too Close To AR   November 19th, 2007 8:41 am ET

Mike Huckabee isn't a Christian, he's a Gothardite. Look up Bill Gothard and how Huckabee put his teachings into the public schools in Arkansas. Indoctrination at it's finest!

amy childers   November 29th, 2007 11:35 am ET

Oh jeepers I guess if Chuck Norris endorses Huckabee I should vote for him. Why is this even a news story? I prefer Tancredo or Hunter to Mike Huckabee. There is just sompthing so slimy about Huckabee. He makes my skin crawl. I watched the debate last night and was disgusted by how biased Anderson Cooper, host of the CNN/YouTube debate, is against Ron Paul and Tancredo. Paul’s ideas are very mainstream. He stands by the Constitution, and is for America and American citizens. The mass media just keeps trying to shove Huckabee, Romney and the other Republican neocons down the throat of the American people. The new stategy of corporate run media appears to be slandering Paul supporters as fringe dwellers and conspiracy theorists.

Norman Nevins, Indiana   December 5th, 2007 8:50 am ET

Chuck Norris is a real american hes just stating what we all are really saying. we dont mind have different people in or country just dont come here illegally thats all we want.

As for the war everyone wanted it when it first happen now trying to put the blame on one person everyone should get together and figure out a plan to end the war instead of blaming each other.

DEL BRYAN, Sutherlin, Oregon   December 16th, 2007 6:25 pm ET

If Chuck Norris is so great why wont he communicate with the people that help him get to where he is today. His very long time friends. We were together in the Military and civilian times and I help in starting his first Dojo in Torance, California. Call me Chuck.

Edie Potts   January 1st, 2008 10:08 pm ET

Mr. Norris, please research Huckabee. He is worse then Bush, He is worse then the Clintons.

Arkansas resident.

kyle   January 23rd, 2008 11:41 am ET

Chuck Norris the man who brings the pledge of Allegiance back to every school kid via the 2008 election with Huckabie. Just change it a little. Who knows what it should be? but im sure we can afford to pay a team of writers to change that one sentence. Lets get it done. Lets get the children some values. Thanks Kyle Mello RI
