Bill Clinton gets on a treadmill for the latest Clinton Web video.

WASHINGTON (AP) – Get that man an Actors' Equity card. Bill Clinton is developing a side line as top performer on his wife's comic Web videos.

First was the Sopranos send up with the former president lamenting the lack of onion rings at the hometown diner. Now comes a video for young Iowa voters reassuring them that participating in the state's caucuses on behalf of Hillary Rodham Clinton on Jan. 3 is simple.

It opens with Clinton huffing on a treadmill envisioning a double cheeseburger. Can you say typecasting?

The point? "Exercising is hard," an announcer intones.

Cut to former Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack and his wife Christy, both Clinton backers, doing the twist. Again the announcer: "Dancing is hard."

Cut to Hillary Rodham Clinton's now famous off-key rendition of the "The Star-Spangled Banner." Cue the announcer: "Singing is hard."

"Caucusing is easy."

Two teens appear on screen to explain that any one of voting age by next year's general election can caucus. Others explain the simplicity of it all: Remember the date, find the proper precinct site, arrive on time, assemble in one corner and count off.

Caucusing, they all say, is easy.

Cut back to Bill Clinton. Not to give it away, but he proves that exercising is indeed hard.

The video is a direct appeal to young, potential caucus-goers, a voting bloc that Barack Obama's presidential campaign has been assiduously courting.

The Clinton campaign is showcasing the video for supporters Thursday evening at the Varsity Theatre in Des Moines as a preview to the Democratic presidential debate being broadcast from Nevada on CNN.

"Bush Bush Clinton Clinton Bush Bush Clinton?"

Posted By chris sc : November 15, 2007 1:21 pm
I think you need to read your second grade history book again…If you're speaking in terms of presidential terms, Bush Sr. only served 1, not 2.

Luci, Atlanta GA   November 16th, 2007 2:03 am ET

"BUSH BUSH, CLINTON CLINTON, BUSH BUSH, CLINTON ? …. ARE YOU KIDDING ME ?
…. IS THIS A DEMOCRATIC DICTATORSHIP now? Are these guys the ONLY TWO families who can run this country?" Hilarious!

Luci, Atlanta GA   November 16th, 2007 2:00 am ET

If pollsters actually cared about the younger voters who only owned cell phones, perhaps all our precious percentile projections would show the real numbers. Hillary's ahead in a certain demographic…that owns landlines and is home at the time pollsters call. Why aren't we talking about this?

Peggy McGilligan National Capitol Area   November 16th, 2007 1:21 am ET

Like a good many Americans, I don’t want that duo back in the White House. What is past is prologue. But what about the incidence of Al Qaeda flight students, trained at the University of Bill Clinton? It’s an honest question: http://theseedsof9-11.com

Hillary Clinton: Positively Pandering, Definitely Duplicitous, Ultimately Unelectable.

Ann ME   November 16th, 2007 12:58 am ET

Are you sure that's what he's doing?

Liberal Chic   November 16th, 2007 12:21 am ET

Dudes, some of you guys have to get a sense of humor. This video is seriously funny. You don't even have to be a Hillary Clinton supporter, or even a Democrat (as the commercial says), to appreciate the humor.

Liberal Chic   November 16th, 2007 12:09 am ET

Laura - Tulsa OK :

Yeah, like the experience record Bush gave when you voted for him?

Rob, Martinsburg, WV :

I agrees 100%.

VDRPhill   November 15th, 2007 11:14 pm ET

Just as I have always thought: Hillary is riding on Bill's coat tails but she is no Bill Clinton. Using Bill's popularity in a commercial to young people IS playing the "WIFE CARD" which is pretty close to playing the "GENDER CARD" which she denies doing. Out of the other side of her mouth she chided the CNN commentator, Campbell Brown, regarding her question about Hillary's use of the "boys' club" by saying, "We all know that there have been "certain impediments" to women rising to this level." Everyone knew the "impediments" were "the boys." She also played the gender card with her often told story about 90-year-old-women who were born when women couldn't vote and want to live to see the first woman president. (I've heard her tell this at least 5 times in person and on the air.) I also couldn't believe her refusal to raise the Social Security Tax Cap where people don't pay for the money they earn above $97,000. (Sounded like the Bush tax cut for the rich to me.) Obama fairly nailed her on this one. All of the discussion afterward thought Hillary did so well when she obviously had these HUGE FLAWS in her thinking.

Bea, Hoboken, NJ   November 15th, 2007 6:43 pm ET

Wow, I don't who is more bitter, whether the right wingers or the Obama & Edwards suporters. Lighten up!!!

It's just a funny ad to explain the caucus procedures. Why all the venom???

Shawnie - Grants Pass, OR   November 15th, 2007 6:15 pm ET

Let's imitate Romney, shall we. No original ideas?

hillarylover - SA   November 15th, 2007 6:14 pm ET

Its so funny that men are still crying about the monica thing. When we all know finding a honest man is harder than finding a black pearl. Hillary forgave him so let it go. It's like casting the first stone. Most of us have been there - some of us have been caught but none of us had apologize on national TV. Find something else to dog the guy about.

Danny G. Boca Raton, FL   November 15th, 2007 4:20 pm ET

Will I live in Boca too and I'm a very conservative Dem… however come on! lighten up a bit… this is witty… besides he had his indescretions and has apologize for them, shouldn't that be handled best by the senator and the former president? I want to vote for someone I believe in, I believe in Hillary and her husband they truly care about this country, they are centrist and they are real people… they have problems like anyone else… I don't need a saint as a president but I do need someone that cares is compassionate and is level headed… can you tell me a republican that is (other than maybe Ron Paul)?

Bill, Santa Clarita, CA   November 15th, 2007 4:18 pm ET

Hillary in 2009 and 2013. Better late then never; we needed her in the last eight years!!!!

Megha, San Antonio, TX   November 15th, 2007 4:16 pm ET

Clinton 08. This is an exciting time, finally America, like UK, Germany, India, Phillipines, Sri Lanka, Liberia, will have a woman in charge and break the stupid belief that US is not ready for a woman President. I can't wait for this historic event, America being the free world and the most advanced country should vote this capable person.
Hillary 08

curryom   November 15th, 2007 4:10 pm ET

I miss Clinton being president, I feel that he is the first to get out and for all people no matter the color of their skin, I am also going to say that he is doing a good job at exercising so he needs to keep that up. I also hope that his wife Hilary will become president.

Rob, Martinsburg, WV   November 15th, 2007 4:09 pm ET

While I agree that informing the general public on the need to vote is important, I must stress that it is even more important to vote in an informed fashion. I am sick of watching attack adds and dirty politicking year after year after endless year; one should not vote based on what someone says of a candidate, but rather what you know of the candidate. Please, be you a Democrat, Republican, or a third-party Independent, research the person instead of just believing what you hear about them from the media and the campaign ads.

Jeb, Austin, TX   November 15th, 2007 4:05 pm ET

People are spamming this news forum for donations to Hillary's campaign. CNN, are you going to keep allowing this?

Randy S. Lawton, OK   November 15th, 2007 4:03 pm ET

it does not matter what is said about Hilary, she is still the best of all of them. and without a doubt she has my vote - nothing will change.

Posted By Anonymous : November 15, 2007 1:45 pm

It's narrow-minded thinking like this that has the country in the shape it's in today. But you're right about one thing Anon, if Hillary is elected, nothing will change.

Emily in DC: You are absolutely correct. It is todays youth that can exact change in DC. Your generation are the ones that can get all those ancient, well-ensconced career politicians out and get some new blood in. I've been telling everyone that will listen for about 12 years now to simply 'Vote Anti-incumbent' if we do so, we get a completely new government in place within 8 years. Send a message to all those in DC who think they're untouchable.

Jon in Sacramento: FYI Bill did not lose the 2000 election as he had already served two terms and wasn't even running, you twit. It's really scary that you actually have a right to vote.

Travis, Austin, TX   November 15th, 2007 4:00 pm ET

I had to respond to Keith's claim that Thomas Jefferson's party is the party of Republicans. This is completely wrong. The Democratic-Republicans became the DEMOCRATS after they dropped the Republican name. The Republicans were a 3rd party competing with the Whigs, and eventually won out when Abraham Lincoln was elected as the FIRST Republican. Do some research, don't listen to me or this other guy.

Danny Casolaro Martinsburg, WV   November 15th, 2007 3:48 pm ET

I'm so glad that in 08′ Clinton will rescue us from Bush.
Just like Bush rescued us from Clinton before that.
And Clinton rescued us from Bush before that.

And morons still think that we live in a free country.

Karen, NYC   November 15th, 2007 3:24 pm ET

Bill… READ MY LIPS!!!!

WE DON'T WANT HILLARY EITHER. Run all you want, run up Mt. Everest with bells and a tutu and Hillary will still NOT be elected.

Take her, she's your wife. Stop throwing her to the American People.

wendy   November 15th, 2007 3:17 pm ET

No matter what Clinton haters say, be it from GOP or from Obama and Edwards (these two are more and more like GOPS such as Bush and Cheney every day), Hillary Clinton will be our next president. People who can not accept it should have your Doctors ready to take you to hospital in case of you have a heart attack!

Marta Akashe   November 15th, 2007 3:14 pm ET

These two people (Bill and Hillary Clinton) decided at a young age that they'd be presidents of the United States. Bill had his two terms. To me this is a brilliant and amazing achievement. Stunning! Thank You

Obama has no RECORD FROM ILLINOIS STATE SENATE. SO, WHERE IS EVEN THE LITTLE EXPERIENCE?
Posted By e : November 15, 2007 2:10 pm

Really Mr/Ms e? I don't think you've thought this one through.

Barack's record of experience as an elected official is very clear from his state and US senate record that is fully in the public.

Clinton's claim that she has valuable experience from being first lady is totally unsubstantiated. What is the record that she accomplished anything or was involved in any decision making? The only thing we know about was that she did a terrible job of promoting the health care agenda. Now, we aren't even sure if she learned anything from that experience or even was all that involved in it since Bill Clinton now says it was his fault. Why is it his fault? Because he was really in charge instead of Hillary, OR is he at fault for putting an incompetent person in charge?

Laura - Tulsa OK   November 15th, 2007 2:40 pm ET

Why aren't these candidates telling voters what experience and accomplishments they have instead of "entertaining" viewers with cutesy videos? If you vote for someone based upon charisma and appeal, you will not be scammed into a higher tax/bigger government situation.

Jon, Sacramento ~ Ca   November 15th, 2007 2:39 pm ET

I finally get it….

Hillary's campaign ISN'T about Hillary being elected on her own merits. It's (in Bill's mind) a referendum on HIS legacy!

Bill "lost" the 2000 election when George Bush won. Ever since Bill has been biding his time to prove that election was stolen….that America really does love Bill.

Now - Bill is going to be front, center, side, back - whatever HE needs to do to get Hillary a victory.

Mr Clinton,

We, the American people, are grateful (some more, some less) for your 8 years. But it's over and MOST of us want to move forward - not backwards. PLEASE - do something with your life other than feeding your ego through politiking. Go home. Where ever that is… go home, sir.

Terry, El Paso, TX   November 15th, 2007 2:29 pm ET

"BUSH BUSH, CLINTON CLINTON, BUSH BUSH, CLINTON"

1. George H.W. Bush was only elected to one term in 1988. He was defeated for reelection by Bill Clinton in 1992.

2. George W. Bush lost the 2000 election to Al Gore but the election results were overturned by the five Conservative Republicans on the Supreme Court.

So, the real pattern is
Bush, Clinton, Clinton, Gore*, Bush.

As far as the 2000 election is concerned, I am not a sore loser; I am a sore winner.

Lost faith in system   November 15th, 2007 2:29 pm ET

Lying while under oath and telling voters whatever they want to hear must be easy for the Clintons as well. Vote for them and you'll deserve all the additional scandals. Don't forget what they did while last in office!

Re: "Yes, let us enlist the uninformed, inexperienced, emotions of our youth to start dictating our national policies." Keith J. Louttit

this is the kind of stuff that is just disheartening. apparently an 18 or 19 year old's opinion means less than Mr. Louttit's. I'll guarantee that some tennagers have a better grasp on politics than their elders. Being young doesn't make you "uninformed." Adults who think that they "know more" than younger people just drive me nuts. When my kids are old enough to vote, i hope that they go out and find out what matters to them rather than listening to old blowhards telling them how the country should be.

Hillary cannot win on likability, character or leadership (minor factors when electing a PRESIDENT). She can only win if the Democratic Party BELIEVES that she is the ONLY candidate that can beat the REPUBLICANS. It is my personal hope that the AMERICAN PUBLIC will elect the next PRESIDENT based on issues important to them regardless of race, party or gender.

It seems essential that the youth get involved. We are the ones who will be without social security and suffering the consequences of global warming. We get affected everyday by government decisions on education and college loans. This is as much our society as it is anyone else's and I am glad that there are ads targeting the youth population. We deserve as much say as every other generation. I am disappointed that the youth don't turn out to vote more, but seeing campaigns appealing to our age group, through the internet and comedy is very uplifting. Not all youth are the most educated when it comes to government, but then again, many americans across all ages are uneducated in this area. Campaigns are doing a great job when they try to bring in the younger voters and inform them about the issues. I am glad that ads like this are reaching to the students who will be the future of this nation.

Yes, let us enlist the uninformed, inexperienced, emotions of our youth to start dictating our national policies.

Let's see, Mickey D's has playgrounds and now you can sign up to vote there as well.

I am seriously beginning to wonder if it wasn't better in Jefferson's day when you needed to be a Mature person, and a landholder also… Funny how Mr. Obama so eloquently stated that Mr. Jefferson was a Democrat the other night at the J-J Event, unfortunately though, The Democratic-Republican Party, also known as the Republican Party, was founded by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison in 1792. It became the dominant political party in the United States from 1800 until the 1820s, when it split into competing factions. Its members identified the party as the Republicans, Jeffersonians, Democrats, or combinations of these (such as Jeffersonian republicans). Please learn to use the Internet people, it has wonderful resources, such as http://www.thomas.gov and http://www.senate.gov.

He is one of the reason I will never vote for his wife. Please Mr. Clinton do not screw up for us the in the general election. We as democrats don't to see you doing any more stupid things.
