The candidates will square off tonight in Las Vegas at 8 p.m. ET.

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (CNN) — The real action in Las Vegas Thursday night won't be at the high-dollar tables along the Strip.

It will be at the Thomas and Mack Center on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. That's where CNN and the Nevada Democratic Party will host a presidential debate at 5 p.m. (8 p.m. ET).

So why Nevada? When it comes to the race for the White House, the Silver State isn't the first one that comes to mind. Candidates trudging through the snow in Iowa and New Hampshire are the most obvious images.

Go Hillary!! She will be fine.

Chip Celina OH   November 15th, 2007 3:22 pm ET

Talk about lemmings!

After the last debate, we all saw Hillary blow the answer to a yes/no question. Bubba comes out after that and explains it away as a "complex issue" and "requires more than a thirty second sound bite response."

How many times on this board in the last two weeks have you seen the HillPraisers use either of those two terms?

Pathetic!

If she doesn't get a pass tonight in this debate, she'll go down in flames. If she does get softball questions, we'll see her adoration society bragging about her brilliant performance.

CLINTON 08

Linda Ross, Las Vegas, NV   November 15th, 2007 2:01 pm ET

This gentleman from NY wants me to spell correctly about the MSNBC moderator Tim Russert and not Russell:

"Um. Reply to Linda in LAS; it's Tim Russert . If this is any indication of how voters in Nevada pay attention, we shouldn't hold any political events in that state!
Posted By aj huntington ny : November 15, 2007 12:29 pm"

By not spelling the name of the moderator correctly he is implying that the people in this state are politically novice. Its a bunch of BS! Who cares about the name? Persons like AJ in NY pays attention to all irrelevant things and thats how Bush gets elected twice, and this country is borrowing billions for this wa leaving millions without insurance. I bet that this AJ person being NY resident is for Guliani who has so many secrets in his closet and is so much cotrolled by his 4th wife Judith. What is important now is how all the democrats stand on the issues by non-partial questioning.

AJ, IL   November 15th, 2007 1:47 pm ET

I am willing to bet that when the debate is over Hillary will be declared the winner, even if she doesn't give a clear and concise answer to 80% of the questions. That sign in the picture states CNN = POLITICS. Please nearly everyone knows CNN is biased towards Hillary. That sign should read CNN = CLINTON NEWS NETWORK.

Maryland For the Truth   November 15th, 2007 1:33 pm ET

It's amazing how Hillary waits for Spitzer to renounce his support for illegals to not get licenses. It just goes to show that Hillary continues to follow and not be able to lead.Just like those Democrats who say it's about the children, but don't want to eliminate those adults from the "SCHIP Bill".America needs stop listening to these liars who want you to belive they are working for you.I.E. Hillary,Reid of LV.,Pelosi.

Coach Haughton NH   November 15th, 2007 1:10 pm ET

You know this debate is useless because CNN will cater to what hillary wants to talk about the entire time. I wouldn't be surprised If she has been briefed with the questions. Barack will hold his ground but CNN will declare hillary the winner even if she says the n-word and macaca in the same sentence.

KEITH JAMES LOUTTIT   November 15th, 2007 1:00 pm ET

Oh Linda Ross, Las Vegas, NV… Had you actually watched the broadcast of Ms. Rodham-Clinton and Mr. Russet, you would have seen she clearly HAD MORE THAN 30 SECONDS, she was given all the time she needed to avoid and evade all questions.

That is all the Clinton's know how to do is lie their way out of anything. She IS NOT A LEADER and she COULD NOT LEAD OUR COUNTRY.

Hillary and Bill are both opportunists that will do ANYTHING to get elected (except tell the truth).

And which politician is not a liar? Tell me one of them that is truthful. Talk about doing anything to get elected. Take a look at the one trick pony 9/11 candidate. He's finally realized that his claim on that not only is tenuous at best but is not moving people towards him. Now he's pandering to the religious zealots (Robertson) and war mongers "I know about waterboarding and John McCain does not" That guy has B—-!!!

KEITH JAMES LOUTTIT   November 15th, 2007 12:57 pm ET

I have just received an E-Mail from Wolf, and he assures me there will be no need for concern, he and Hillary have signed a PNA (Pre-Newscast Agreement) limiting all questions to topics already reviewed and agreed upon by both candidate and moderator, that are totally within the guidelines of CNN's most trusted name in news!

Unfortunately I won't be able to view tonight's broadcast of this spectacular event, I will be at work, trying to earn enough to hopefully leave something to my children in the event that Hillary actually succeeds and wins the Presidency, something besides the legacy which I hoped I could leave, after having worked hard my entire life not knowing that Mr Bill would be selling nights at the Lincoln Bed and Breakfast, selling Pardons to FOB's as well as family and friends of Hillary, and raising campaign money from people like Norman Hsu, the disgraced fundraiser for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential campaign.

Danny G. Boca Raton, FL   November 15th, 2007 12:37 pm ET

What is it with you guys… all of the sudden the wife that was cheated on decides to stay in the marriage to make it work and she is labeled for it? talk about throwing the first stone? that is a private affair. so she has aspirations of serving this country as president? GOOD FOR HER we should welocme that, now everyone wants the 18 million pages of documents release ASAP so that can be a part of the attacks on the campaign it is ridiculous. instead of talking about how to solve the issues that affect us. she has been a senator of New york, she has been very effective in serving her state, she has been around the world as the face of America, that is the person that is trying to run now for President, how about judging her on that. so issuing dirver's licenses to un-documented drivers is not the popular thing to do, do you people realize that will make this make this people "trackable" in case we do want to "round-them" up. but it would be too horrible to say that on national TV. and if it is not a good idea, then debated and move on… I hope she gets the nomination

Tim Russert LA, California   November 15th, 2007 12:35 pm ET

who is Tim Russell?

aj huntington ny   November 15th, 2007 12:29 pm ET

Um. Reply to Linda in LAS; it's Tim Russert . If this is any indication of how voters in Nevada pay attention, we shouldn't hold any political events in that state!

RuthieM   November 15th, 2007 12:27 pm ET

America needs to pay more attention. The Philadelphia debate was not the first Clinton stumble, she;s stumbled in all the debates, she avoided answering questions in all of the debates and she got away with it. Her feet were finally held to the fire in Philadelphia, and for good reason, she's running for president of the United States. The difference in the Philadelphia debate WAS THE MODERATOR. Russert was of good courage. All the previous moderators let Clinton get away with — 'murder?' So the same can be with this debate, if Wolf let's Clinton get away with not answering the questions, America, the media will give the win to Clinton as they always have when she really didn't win at all, she just coasted and won, they say, by not 'losing' when she really lost in the scheme of things.

Lee, Ann Arbor, Michigan   November 15th, 2007 12:24 pm ET

Gee, Linda Ross, Las Vegas, NV - you don't even know the name of the moderator from the last debate…Tim Russell (it's Russett).

Also, obviously you don't know how Hillary doesn't want to answer a question at all because she wants to take all sides so she doesn't lose any votes.

HILLARY IS INCAPABLE OF ANSWERING A QUESTION DIRECTLY BECAUSE SHE IS UNQUALIFIED TO MAKE A HARD DECISION.

She is a total lightweight and UNQUALIFIED TO BE PRESIDENT. She has spent her life in politics (along with her husband) because they like living off the taxpayer…it's such a GRAVY TRAIN FOR THEM.

Linda Ross, Las Vegas, NV   November 15th, 2007 12:09 pm ET

Hillary being the front runner, all the questions were directed to her personally by Tim Russell. Naturally, when you are asked to reply in 30 sec format on provocative questions, you are at a disadvantage. Hillary should do a better job if the format of the questions are non-partial.

Eric, Walnut Creek, CA   November 15th, 2007 12:08 pm ET

Hillary is a liar, liar, liar, liar, liar, liar, liar, liar, liar.

Salita, SC   November 15th, 2007 12:00 pm ET

Hillary Clinton has already won the debate ….all she has to do is answer the questions to the best of HER ability. The Clinton haters will hate her no matter what. There is nothing you haters can say about Hillary you havent whined about the past 15 yrs. Havent ya noticed yet your whining about her isnt hurting her run for the presidency?

Paul, Whitestown, Indiana   November 15th, 2007 11:53 am ET

People WILL be watching the debate tonight, but they will be more focused on whether CNN goes after the non-answers and the questions themselves. This is a big test for CNN. Are they as biased as people say or will they prove their critics wrong?

We The People deserve to have the TOUGH questions asked and answered. Anything less is an insult to all 2008 voters.

Karen, NYC   November 15th, 2007 11:52 am ET

Hillary can do cart wheels in a tutu and she still will NEVER get my vote. We are sick and tired of Hillary and her lies, fake smile and empty agendas. Bring on the real candidates and leave Hillary to her fans, we just don't have time to play mind game with her and Bill.

aj huntington ny   November 15th, 2007 11:47 am ET

Bring on the "planted" questions !

Bea, Hoboken, NJ   November 15th, 2007 11:34 am ET

Hillary, and Bill for that matter, have been on the hot seat since 1992 and have always managed to rise above the fray. She will do just fine tonight now that she knows what to expect from her opponents: a lot of yapping from Edwards, some pointed jabs from Obama and a few digs from the 2nd tier candidates. She'll be fine!

lavelle Rochester,ny   November 15th, 2007 11:33 am ET

ohh please dont pick on hillary, I admire her so much! she should lead this great nation and if any leader in this world should ever pick on hillary then shame on you! She is so sweet and kind and smart and wonderful. She should be our leader because she is so strong and stands up for what she believes in.

When her marriage was falling apart she was so brave and smart. To stay with Bill because of her intentions on becoming the first woman president of the United States, just shows her honest character. That’s why she should president. I love Hillary because she's a sweet, sweet person and means well. She can take the heat and stay in the kitchen because women cook more then men. Women take care of there home by staying in the kitchen cooking the turkey for thanksgiving.

Those mean, mean nasty men need to lay off of her. No matter how many questions she plants, or how many questions she refuses to answer. No matter how many positions she switches like she’s weather in Seattle. She still means well and I want things to go back to the 90's I can’t wait until she's president! She has earned the right to become the madam President of the United States! Go Hillary………PLEASE! LOL OBAMA 08!

What’s more telling is the fact that the former Vice President won’t come on board. You would think if he was so proud of the Clintons he would fully announce an endorsement. Remember when he ran he didn’t want ol Slick Willy around? hmmmm makes you wonder why Gore isn’t around Hillary!

OBAMBA 08!

Steve in SC   November 15th, 2007 11:13 am ET

I think we will witness a flame out of epic proportion tonight! Hillary for America! That would be South, Cental, or Latin, take your pick. I heard there may be an opening in Cuba pretty soon!

KEITH JAMES LOUTTIT   November 15th, 2007 10:41 am ET

Rick Sanchez should NOT be judging(as in the case of McCain) but instead be REPORTING. THAT is the job of a journalist, and that is what we expect from CNN. When we want to know your opinions, we will pull your chain.

This is why CNN is getting to be Known as the Clinton Network News channel… why can't you guys get the message?

Jamie Skinner, El Monte, CA   November 15th, 2007 10:30 am ET

Hope she has a huge ice pack for this one. Not qaulified for the position. Job interviews you answer questions I thought. Now we see how they get jobs..Its obvious their smarts are questionable. Default Clinton camp going down.

RightyTighty   November 15th, 2007 10:27 am ET

Sin city decides US president.

What a headline! The kool-aid will flow, the dominions will gamble away donars money and all will be merry…, mindless of tomorrow.

PROVIDENCE, RI   November 15th, 2007 10:22 am ET

Clinton is always on hot seat, because she is the target of her rivals, media, Clinton haters etc. And I admire her a lot, because she survives each and all by her strength, and she knows how to do it….

Tom - Dedham, Mass   November 15th, 2007 10:19 am ET

She clearly won this debate, her opponents "piled up" on her and were "mean" along with that Wolf man.

She is the smartest and most "Ready to lead" candidate out there.

Whoops, sorry, I posted this too early Bahhhhhh.

She realized that you can't give great answers in 30 seconds so Friday Bill is going out to hammer all involved as part of the "vast left or right wing conpiracy" and to wag his finger at you less nuanced folks.

The above can be posted ahead of time as it will totally happen.

She couldn't even take care of her own "house" let alone run a company or a state. NOTHING.

Go Obama, Edwards, Biden and Dodd do not back down.

Richardson will say nothing as he wants ther VP slot.

Vox Populi, Nova, VA   November 15th, 2007 10:19 am ET

The CNN Las Vegas debate should be well worth watching tonight due to the wealth of Hillary contradictions feeding the current news cycle. Two of the most important points that will hopefully addressed are:

1. Hillary Clinton's extensive support for the attempt to provide potential terrorists and illegals with valid driver license IDs and which would encourage backdoor voting rights to non-citizens — and then her sudden about-face to non-support once the tide of public opinion turned against her long-held support for this policy.

2. The planting of safe and friendly questions by her campaign among the audiences of various town meetings. Hillary Clinton denied knowing of what was occuring within her own tightly-managed campaign clique — if she is not aware of what is going on so close to home, how aware is she of the issues affecting this country and the world beyond?

This debate should be a blast if the appropriate questions are asked … I'll be tuning in!

factjack   November 15th, 2007 10:13 am ET

A picture is worth a thousands words..
Much like the one for this post. CNN = Politics Only one word could possibly add to this fitting tribute…. "CNN = Biased Politics". New study's continue to prove it's true.

david a belanger   November 15th, 2007 10:11 am ET

The Democratic bill lacks one key feature President Bush is insisting on: legal immunity for telecommunications companies alleged to have secretly helped the government monitor Americans" phone calls and e-mails without court permission. About 40 civil lawsuits have been filed against telecom companies, alleging they broke wiretapping and privacy laws, and the White House has threatened to veto any surveillance bill that does not protect the companies. The White House contends lawsuits could bankrupt the companies and reveal classified information.

THIS IS AMERICA, BUSH IF YOU HAVE FORGOTTEN, WE THE PEOPLE OF THIS UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, YOUR BOSS HAVE SAID YOU CANT SAVE YOUR BUDDIES IN THE LARGE WORLD OF CORPS. THEY GO BANKURP OH WELL YOU ARE LETTING MILLIONS OF AMERICANS FILE BANKRUPEY.
