I was in the guards and on Governor's day the distance to the targets are always shortened and the targets have floor bags in the back for the small arms fire so when they are hit you see a white flash of floor escaping from the bag. I also shot the grenade exhibition for the governor and they told us to pull in the targets, but I shamed my partner into putting the targets to the right distance so we were the only ones who was shooting at the required distance for the ammunition being used except the 106 mm recoilless rifle which also was shooting the required distance. If you are watching the exhibition on governors day it is a fraud or at least it was when I was in the national guard in the 1950's and early 1960's.
