Poll: Iowa up for grabs

A new poll shows a close race in Iowa.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - With less than two months to go until Iowans cast the first votes of 2008, a new KCCI-TV poll released Thursday shows that the Democratic race is up for grabs in the Hawkeye State.

Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-New York, holds a statistically insignificant 2 percentage-point lead over Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois (27 percent to 25 percent.) Former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards falls just behind the frontrunners with 21 percent. But 11 percent of Iowa voters said they are still undecided, which makes the outcome unpredictable on Election Day.

A CBS/New York Times poll released Wednesday also showed Clinton, Obama and Edwards closely vying for the top spot in Iowa. That poll put Edwards in second place behind Clinton and Obama in third.

On the Republican side, the KCCI-TV poll showed former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee gaining ground in Iowa. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney was comfortably in the lead with 27 percent, but Huckabee had 18 percent and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani got 16 percent. Former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson got 10 percent, but 15 percent of GOP voters said they were undecided. The CBS/New York Times poll had similar results.

The KCCI poll surveyed 600 likely Iowa voters from November 12-14. The margin of error was plus or minus 4 percentage points.

Obama has a vision that will make America strong, restore our values, and improve our health and economic safety. All you need to do is put away your preconceived notions and listen to what the man has to say. Go to the campaign web site and find out for yourself. That's why the UAW endorsed him today and hundreds of thousands have donated over $80 million to his campaign, even though he is not the "establishment" candidate.

Bush has torn this country apart both w/in and abroad. Obama isn't the man to fix this. Actually none of the men running can fix it. Only one person – Clinton. Obama isn't going to win. Sad but true. For many reasons.

Why does Obama, Michelle, David PLouffe keep asking for money all the time. In last 3 days I have received 3 emails all for money.

Michelle sends an email saying Barack doesnt like asking for money so she is asking for money in his place.

Next day Barack sends an email telling me to donate. There is no "please" either. Come on, be respectful and request me instead of telling me.

I am getting turned off by the tone of arrogance.

There were two other polls from Iowa today, and they both had Clinton slightly ahead. Among Republicans, a new poll has Huckabee TIED with Romney.

How funny is this!!! A "poll" after 16 minutes of this "debate". All the people on that stage scare me. I haven't decided yet on which I will vote for but I DO know who I WON'T vote for...Clinton. Everyone says they want change...does Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton sound like CHANGE TO ANYONE out there?! And do you really think the woman who needs rescuing by her husband and whines about being jumped on is fit to be THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES?! C'mon. When she wanted the driver's licenses for illegals...that was for VOTES...don't be fooled by the Clinton machine. Amazing how people jump on this Clinton wagon without even considering what their administration did. What REALLY happened to Vince Foster....please. Sandy Berger...please... VERY strong ties to China...beware America. It's not a "right wing conspiracy" that is only being used to move your focus from them. Beware America. Just listen to the others and don't be star struck by the Clinton machine. That's all I ask, as a very concerned American citizen. I am all for a woman for President...this one, however, is not the right one. Don't be fooled. Richardson doesn't have the star power..neither does Biden. But either would be better for us all...

Hillary did a great job in the Nevada debate.Edwards is really who I thought would be a good president but after watching how he acts in a debate he just lost my vote.Dodd also impressed me.The democrats can show they have diffrences but Edwards you need to go to school for TACT.

Agree with poster saying these people do not represent real change. Check out Ron Paul and what he stands for, REAL change, a return to the Constitution and reduction in the size and power of the federal government.

Hillary was GREAT last night debate and has sealed my vote!
    VOTE FOR CLINTON IOWA!!!!

I'm very disappointed with Obama and Edwards. Obama just babbled, why is he even being considered in this race, he is obviously way out of this league of experience candidates.
Richardson was impressive and my new second choice...

Clinton will be the next President in 2008!!!
    VOTE FOR HILLARY

Wake up, Obama is the Wesley Clark of this elections. Every election, the "cool urbanite fringe" and so-called youth voters get behind a candidate that "fits the suit" (as the Brady Bunch episode once said) and looks the part. Obama is all talk, no substance. I've watched every single debate and come to the conclusion that only Clinton and Edwards (with Biden trailing third) have what it takes in the REAL WORLD–and by real world, I don't mean an MTV show, Obama supporters
