Rudy Giuliani has released a new ad focused on his time as mayor of New York City.

NEW YORK (CNN) – Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani released a new campaign ad Monday touting himself as the best leader and most “tested” of the candidates hoping to win the race to the White House.

“I’ve been tested in a way in which the American people can look to me,” Giuliani says in the ad. “They’re not going to find perfection, but they’re going to find somebody who has dealt with crisis almost on a regular basis and has had results. And in many cases, exceptional results.”

In the ad, Giuliani promotes his resume, pointing out that he served as a U.S. Attorney and as an official in the Justice Department. Although he doesn’t mention 9/11 directly, the GOP presidential hopeful highlights that he was the mayor of New York during a “time of crisis.”

The ad will run in New Hampshire and Boston starting Monday.

Rudy Giuliani was a failure when 9/11 hit his city. He failed to get the firemens walkie talkies fixed and they could not hear the orders to leave the area. He is a failure at being a mayor and he is going to be a failure to getting the presidency.

J. Dean Juno Beach, FL   November 22nd, 2007 11:50 am ET

Remember the day Pat Robertson endorsed Ridy Giuliani ? What a pair of hyprocrites. Hmm, something is cooking man. By the way what happened to Pat's christian values ? Is pat endorsing abortion ?
Rudy Giuliani never dealt with crisis. He indeed created the crisis while he was the mayor and currently Giuliani is the crisis.
Few of the Rudy Giuliani's crisis:
With his extended families, which one ?
With his ex-wives.
With his children.
With the NYPD.
With the NYFF.
With the Black Community.
With his ex-police chief.
With the survivor families of 9/11 victims.
With the Catholic Church.
With the Italian brothers.
What an excellent and perfect resume for a Republican presidential candidate hey !
After J. McCain Giuliani will be the next candidate to go home to resolve his pending crisis.
A friendly advice to the so called Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani: Man you made so much money, just stay home and enjoy family life, hey. You know nothing about politics.
With had anough crisis with disaster George Bush. A second choice, may be, why don't you retire with Gorgie, hey.

He might become more appealing if he quit harping on his walk abouts during 9/11. OK, he was there, so was one of my cousins who died in the towers, we get it.

He needs to focus less on "I was there, and can guide us in a crisis", and start talking about what he can do as president the other 99.999 percent of the time we do not have a crisis going on.

Chris, Pensacola FL   November 20th, 2007 11:10 am ET

I'm a Libertarian. It even sounds cool.

Chris, Middletown, CT   November 20th, 2007 9:41 am ET

Our new president looks good.

I like his moderate stance - social liberal and fiscal conservative.

I like the fact that the police and firefighters (unions) in NYC don't like him (meaning he doesn't pander to unions like the Democrats….ask Detroit about how unions wrecked the auo industry there…)

We need a moderate….and Giuliani is the only one running…vote for any of the other Republicans…you are voting for right wing candidates (except Ron Paul who is a Libertarian) - and any of the Democrats - who are all left wing (except Clinton who is a Saul Alinsky Marxist) - its time to look to the center….and theres only one running there…make the right choice

Kate, Aurora CO   November 20th, 2007 8:35 am ET

The sheer audacity of this man to ride the backs of those who truly were heros that day. This man did nothing out of the ordinary. He did what any other elected official would have done that day. I didn't see him racing into eithe building, I didn't see him manning the 9-11 calls…he stood and watched like the rest of the city in fear and uncertainty. Now he uses that same tragic event to bolster his political image and gain personal profit from his speaking tours and books. Absolutely sickening and disgraceful.

William   November 20th, 2007 6:37 am ET

Mike Huckabee has more executive leadership experience than Guiliani or any other Republican, and also more than Hilary or any other Democrat.

William   November 20th, 2007 6:35 am ET

Watch out for Mike Huckabee - he's gaining!

Andrew Bachmann, Jacksonville Florida   November 19th, 2007 11:06 pm ET

All one needs to ask is why the NYC Firefighters are NOT backing Rudy?

Darrel Lone Rock Iowa   November 19th, 2007 10:42 pm ET

Roll over Rudy!!
You like abortion I see??
Your cop buddy going to the slammer??
Wow!!
If you don't stand for something you will fall for anything! But John Q public knows enough not to stand for you. Sorry you just don't cut it.
Need a new wife? Still more out there! Go for it Rudy!! You can not run a upright family and want to lead this country? I just can't trust you as you are not trustworthy/ Sorry/ Looking for strong MORAL leadership thank You
Bye/ Indepandant from Iowa

Mike, Owosso, MI   November 19th, 2007 8:21 pm ET

He would have a hard time leading a bowl movement, let alone our country!

Guiliani has had a much more difficult job than being a Senator, since running NY is running a budget second to that of the United States itself. And talk about dealing with diversity - New York is one of the most diverse cities and Guiliani was successful managing it.

Before he was elected in NY, Time mag called New York "ungovernable." Guiliani cut crime in NY overall by 56%, and murder by 65%. NY was once the crime capital, but Rudy Guiliani made it the safest lg. city.

I think a telling and important stat is that he also reduced the number of people on welfare in NY by over 600,000. Financially, he was great at cutting government waste; he cut over 20 taxes in the City. He also turned the City's $2.3 mill. deficit into a surplus.

What more do we want in a President?! There are several conservative candidates who blow away anyone on the Democratic side for financial smarts, and Rudy is in the top two or three.

ED winter park Fl .   November 19th, 2007 7:15 pm ET

Rudi will you please tell us in advance which wife , mistress or gay buddie you intend to take to the white house with you ,if america goes crazy and votes for you.

Scott J. Hoffman, Perrysburg Ohio   November 19th, 2007 7:10 pm ET

Ron Paul is the only candidate that can return America to prosperity. Anyone who think Rudy Giuliani is a viable presidential candidate needs to watch these videos, which detail the rampant ineffectiveness, botched management, corruption, and flip flopping that has characterized Giuliani's political career.

Oh yeah, such a big hero on 9/11 - his firemen and police couldn't even TALK to each other b/o out-dated equipment!!
That fiasco led to how many firemen being killed?
What a piece of crap Rudy is

David, Dallas Tx   November 19th, 2007 5:58 pm ET

It sure is a good thing for Giuliani the World Trade Center towers were located in New York instead of Washington or elsewhere. If al Qaeda had chosen another target, he wouldn't have any campaign at all.

Talk about an opportunist. He's worse than an ambulance-chaser.

RudyMussolini   November 19th, 2007 5:35 pm ET

Transcript from Guiliani's ad:

"September 11. Bow before me and lick the heel of my boot or the islamo-fascist terrorists will kill you. September 11. As president I will strip you of your liberties, enhance the US police state and nuke Iran to protect you from the islamo-fascist threat. Heil Cheney!. September 11."

Independent in IA   November 19th, 2007 5:20 pm ET

yep…most of the crises were of his own making. I for one am NOT ready for the Mafia to rule Washington

Jim Cleveland ohio   November 19th, 2007 4:57 pm ET

Rudy is a dishonest and has all the wrong friends that will be going to jail like his Dad.

Hillary is just as much a crook and will give all our money away. Thhese people only want one thing, It is Govt for Govt not for the people, they could care less.

This is the best candidates the two parties can dig up a bunch of left overs.

Ron Paul is the only candidate for the people.

Sean, Santa Barbara, CA   November 19th, 2007 4:56 pm ET

In this post 911 world..uh…Israelis gave me money… 9/11 9/11 9/11… I wish I was Israeli…9/11 9/11 9/11… We need to protect Israel more then this country… 9/11 9/11 9/11… Thank You,oh yeah 9/11 9/11 9/11 //clears throat// 9/11

Jamie Kinstle Wapakoneta OH   November 19th, 2007 4:48 pm ET

Hahah maybe the most VD-tested…that's for sure.

Farrell, Houston, Tx   November 19th, 2007 4:24 pm ET

If Giuliani was effective on terrorism, why did he not participate in the 9/11 Commission who are now endorsing McCain. Rudy's a joke and embarrassment to the Republican party and 9/11 victims. I'm democrat and would vote for McCain over Giuliani. McCain was my original qualified pick for president even though I don't support war. McCain has superior qualifications to lead this country.

pat huntington ny   November 19th, 2007 4:13 pm ET

His own children and own home state can't stand him…that says a lot right there about Rudy! And if republicans vote for him, then they are hypocrits for voting for a pandering flip flopper of the worst kind.

Steve Malloy, B'ham, AL   November 19th, 2007 3:58 pm ET

What a phony guy! The republicans still think that he can beat any of the democrats because of his stand on gun control, pro choice, and other liberal issues. But, other than 9/11, he has nothing to prove. Ask any of the NYC guys? How can republicans like this guy, when people from NYC just can't stand this person?

JIM DAYTON,OHIO   November 19th, 2007 3:52 pm ET

LET'S ASK YOUR FAMILY JUST HOW GOOD OF A PERSON YOU ARE.LOOK CLOSELY AT THIS MAN HE IS JUST LIKE GEORGE BUSH AN LOOK WHERE WE ARE KNOW.

George, OH   November 19th, 2007 3:47 pm ET

This guy makes me want to vote for Hillary Clinton.

Steve, Portland, OR   November 19th, 2007 3:43 pm ET

Find perfection? You've got to be kidding. Your exactly the kind of continued crisis this country doesn't need anymore of.

How about we give the job to someone who actually tries to avoid crisis by diplomatic methods that always work better and certainly cost the American taxpayer lots less money not to mention lives saved. I can only hope the voting citizen has enough sense to see through your selling them more fear.

GH, New York, ny   November 19th, 2007 3:34 pm ET

Laeadership from a guy who can only utter "a noun, a verb and 9/11″ in all his sentences in the past few months?

Joe, Boston, MA   November 19th, 2007 3:31 pm ET

What has this guy done? He's been tested? Are you kidding me? Any and all NYC elected officials should have made 9/11 a priority; he is no different. Just because he stood at press conferences as the cities MAYOR does not mean he's been tested…he just did his JOB…what a bone head.

Stop using 9/11 as if you saved lives…you are not a hero; the people who died that day, the firefighters and the police officers are the heros.

Where does he get off on saying he's been tested? If that's the case we were all tested that day!

A mayor's job in any city would have been to do what he did so he is no different then what any other mayor would have done. Did he forget that he was elected to protect that city?!!

Monte Brown, New York, NY   November 19th, 2007 3:00 pm ET

Giuliani will appoint more conservative judges to an already ultra-right wing Supreme Court. Women and minorities need to be alarmed when they hear this. Giuliani is the leadership America really does not need. If we elect Giuliani as president we are telling ourselves that we don’t respect a woman’s right to choose. We are telling ourselves that it is fine for employers to discriminate based on race, gender, creed and sexual orientation. Are we willing to compromise Civil Rights and Women’s Rights for a 911, fear selling charlatan?

Some conservatives say that they believe in equal opportunity, but when it comes down to legislating hate they turn away and pretend like it doesn’t exist. Some conservatives say they are pro-choice, but Giuliani has already said that he will appoint another Scalia or Alito or Roberts to the Supreme Court. Oh my! That will be the end of Roe v. Wade. Smile in our faces all you want. We know what Republicans are known to do best. Bush told us that he was not interested in “nation building” and look where we are today. WE CAN’T TRUST REPUBLICANS.

When Hillary is done with the other knucklehead Democrats she better get at Giuliani and exploit him for the wolf in sheep’s clothing he is. Giuliani is a typical right winger who will smile in your face then stab you in your back before you can wink. Americans are too cool for that. We must restore the progressive values that have made us stand out from the rest of the world. WE ARE NOT SAUDI ARABIA. WE BELIEVE IN FREEDOM.

Daniel, NY   November 19th, 2007 2:55 pm ET

Rudy Giuliani is appearing very weak in new polls in Missouri and Minnesota where is he crushed by both Obama and Clinton.

Judy Rhouliani, NY NY   November 19th, 2007 2:36 pm ET

For anyone doubting, Giuliani will deliver results. Whether they're mediocre or horrific results doesn't (or didn't) matter, as long as he can deliver!

Al, NY NY   November 19th, 2007 2:36 pm ET

The most "tested"? Of what?? Standing/walking around the Ground Zero area pretending he's a conquering hero? Any politician would have toured the sight so he stands out in no special way. He'd might as well just stand there like a mannequin with his mouth saying "9/11″ "9/11″ "9/11″ "Oh and by the way, a religious fanatic/zealot who doesn't know what the heck he's talking about endorsed me"
