Obama: I won't tolerate 'slime politics'

Watch Sen. Obama explain his response to a report by a conservative columnist over the weekend.

(CNN) - Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, explained his swift response to a report by conservative columnist Robert Novak that the Clinton campaign had “scandalous” information about him.

“I think it is very important to send a clear message that whether it is coming from our party, the other party, third parties, 527’s, that our campaign will not tolerate this kind of slime politics,” Obama said Sunday at a campaign appearance in Iowa.

“In the era of the blogosphere, we have seen what happened with John McCain in 2000, we’re seen what happened with John Kerry in 2004, if you don’t get on this stuff quick, it starts drifting around,” he said.

It doesn't matter if he gets tough or if he gets touchy-feely with the people. Obama doesn't have experience to backup his grand promises.

is this another "Mom, they're picking on me " complaint. Didn't his main opponent last week complain about the boys getting tough with her?

This from the biggest mudslinger and slime generator, next to John Edwards?

After making a complete fool of himself over Novak's column he announces "he just won't tolerate slime politics". Okay enough Mr. "I just won't tolerate" (sounds like George Bush's "I'm the decider").

We have had enough of you, and your lightweight solutions.

Your time is up, go home. What a joke you turned out to be.

This no nonsense approach is so refreshing in American politics. Let's stop the games and take care of the many problems that we face.

Anyone who can rid of us of Hillary is great in my book. I am a conservative Republican, and Obama is a good man. I likely will not vote for him, but I won't stay up late on general election night worrying about the eventual winner either if he is the Democratic nominee.

I'm sure the Clinton campaign follows the news. I wonder why they didn't come out and deny this claim? It makes me wonder because she was so quick to caution her fellow democratic presidential candidates against attacking each other, but wouldn't speak out against this rumor. Very interesting...

By the way, what's going on with Mike Gravel?

Whatever he is, Barack Hussein Osama is not too bright 🙂

In his panic to prevent Hillary from damaging his comical bid, he has highlighted the fact that there MAY BE something deeply scandalous about himslef.

An experienced politician would do nothing. But Osama is an experienced nobody. Oh well – he may be an experienced madrassa jehadi sympathiser.

Address the War. Why aren't you doing something about the most draining and murderous event that is happening under your nose? Tell us how you'll solve that instead of fighting with a woman.

Obama is such a fake. He is just exploting a made up story. If Novak was telling the truth then hillary has dirt but she is choosing NOT to use it. Obama is the one who keeps egging things on.

I think Clinton will sink like kelly( the former governor of massachuesetts) when she used the kind of things to Deval but at the end it took her nowhere and she lost. Many people thought she would win because she was the assistant governor to Romney but that didn't happen. I have alot of faith to with Obama. I don't buy Karl Roves campaign tatics that left this country divided.

wow, Novak and Clinton campaign are in trouble now. The tactic of bringing obama down is not working. They must be low in polls in Iowa today.

Obama was upset by "...what happened with John Kerry in 2004"? Upset by what? That people who served with him in Vietnam wanted the truth told about his record? I seem to recall Kerry saying, a LONG TIME AGO, that he would authorize the release of his military records to settle everything once and for all. Well, Kerry, where are the records?

Obama may be worried about Republicans telling the truth, but he should also be worried about Hillary telling lies.

Obama has been "Swift boating" his opponents alll the time while pretending to be "politics of hope". He is the
one who started telling lies, distorting the truth. What goes around comes around.

He acused Hillary Clinto not straight forward with voters. During the debate two weeks later it turns out it is him not straightforward with voters.

He is also behind "digging" the dirt in other democrats' campaigns.

    Secretary of State: Joe Biden

    Secretary of Defense: W. Clark

CNN again you are showing you are showing your inept political coverage. At 8:41 pm your breaking news should be "Obama captures lead in Iowa poll" but you are hung up on talking about "slime politics" a story which came earlier in the day and already went. Is it because you are too slow (which I doubt) or you don't like writing something nice about Obama that shows Hillary poorly?

why Don't you tell people if someday you lost any part of your body and your accident happening must relate to Hilary, because you hear the scandale” information about that. come on, don't using this way to make statement, it is not benifit for you. Be smart, people's eyes have opened.

I don't like a candidate that hides the fact that he is a muslim. Our soldiers are fighting these people every day. Why is a person who doesn't believe the BIBLE but follows the koran get to run in our country for president. This is One Nation Under GOD and not allah! He should be throw out on his head because he will not let anyone {even though some do} know he is an arrogrant muslim who we don't need running our GOD fearing nation AMERICA.
