I HAVE HEARD MRS.OBAMA SPEAK BEFORE AND I THINK SHE WOULD BE A PERFECT FIT ON THE VIEW AS HOST SHE IS SMART BEAUTIFUL AND REPRESENT THE ESSENCE OF A STRONG AMERICAN WOMAN!
just what we need
I think Michelle will be a hit with "The View"'s primarily female audience.
Michelle is just as smart as Hillary Clinton is and has the looks of Jackie Kennedy. (She got rave reviews from the media on the slim black dress she wore to the Iowa J-J dinner).
Um, how exactly is this NOT a violation of FEC laws, rules and regulations?
Does the View plan on allowing the spouses of ALL Dem and Republican candidates to guest host?
I never thought I'd say this, but I might actually watch the View, just to see what she has to say.
You wouldn't catch Clinton on that kind of show with unscripted talking points. Good for Michelle! She's such a strong and smart woman. It will be good to have her in the White House beside Barack.
Go Michelle ! She will do great on The View. It will be interesting to see Elisabeth and she interact.
i wonder if she'll tell women voters that they're stupid if they vote for hillary Clinton just like she told black voters they were when she said they'll just "wake up and get it" that they should vote for Barack instead of Hillary.
obviously an attempt to booste obama's popularity...
Sorry, but Michelle Obama doesn't belong in 'show biz.' Yes, she is smart and attractive, but not for the Host of the View. Political wives should stay off of politically motivated talk shows that are produced for entertainment and controversy only. She should appear on the Sunday News Shows if she cares to make a Real Statement.
Will The View be giving equal time for spouses of other candidates? I certainly hope so....
Trash TV. Why stoop this low to snag the votes of nonvoting hausfraus?
Isn't this like unfair? ... you can't have Michelle Obama on a show without publicizing Obama's campaign at the same time. Barbara Walters used to be in news ... she should know better!
Um, do you really think that the FEC writes laws that affect candidates spouses as well.
Um do you really think that the FEC has jurisdiction over every single TV program that exists.....

Perhaps they have, and Michelle Obama was the first to acecpt the invite.
And how is this any worse than all the free air time Faux News is giving the republiKKKans – especially Sean Hannity, whi keeps having Rudy on his radio and TV shows after actively raising campaign funds for the Giuliani camp?

My Answer:
Simple. The law only applies to candidates, not to their spouses. They can get as much "air time" as they want or don't want. After all, we're voting for (or against) her husband, not her.
'08 wife to host 'The View'??? what the heck kind of header is that?
More power to the OBAMA's. This couple is an inspiration to the world.
Wonderful. I can't wait to see what this brilliant, compassionate, classy, and articulate women has to say (rolls eyes). The final curtain for Mr. Obama's campaign. It's about time the pencil-necked idealist have someone close to him destroy him. You get what you give, Barack Hussein Obama.
She is not a candidate so the law does not apply to her. After all, everyone is ALWAYS talking about how the spouses DO NOT MATTER in choosing a candidate. So, why, NOW, is anyone caring what she does? Hhhmmm...
Another attempt by the Ombama campt to be 'cool'. Note to Obama: If you want to appear 'older' and more 'experienced', then please, by all means, stop appearing on the likes of Saturday Night Live and the View. It's hard to take you seriously!
I love Michelle almost as much as I love Barack. They are the coolest couple ever, and I can't wait to see her teach Elisabeth a thing or two.
I am frustrated by all the comments comparing Michelle to Hillary. Michelle's NOT running for president, and Hillary is, meaning that they are going to do different types of appearances. If a show wants to feature all of the spouses of the candidates, then Bill Clinton would be included, not Hillary.
I love Michelle. The View is lucky to have her.
