It doesn't matter that Mrs. Obama is smart and attractive; her husband Barack has not had any success in Illinois in lowering taxes. He hasn't had success in much else come to think of it. He is a blank canvas; that is not an offense, it's an observation that he speaks clearly, positively and in such a way that people project their wishes and dreams upon him. He doesn't offend, but he also doesn't inspire Americans to be self-sufficient, only to let big government control them. He's to the left of Hillary, if that's possible; and that's not what America needs now. We need someone who will lessen the power of Congress.
Mrs. Obama is definetly suited for such a position, but while her husband is running for the Presidential seat. She should let her husband do the running and be careful about such public engagements to avoid potential mishaps that can harm his poll. Remember Heinz-Kerry? Not too many people cared for her-although that isn't what caused Kerry's loss.
Pat Huntington, NY no one really cares if you lose your appetite coz of Michelle, to many it will be a good riddance of yet another Hillary robot/intern
She will have plenty of time to do these type of things in about a year or so.
It doesn't take much searching to find:
Hillary Rodham Clinton, on The View, December 20, 2006
Hillary Rodham Clinton, on The View, October 15, 2007
Chris Dodd, on The View, October 18, 2007
Joe Biden, on The View, September 24, 2007
Barack Obama, on The View, September 27, 2007
John Edwards has been on The View before, in 2005 though when there wasn't an election going on, so it doesn't really matter but is worth mentioning.
This talk about fairness and Clinton being holier than Obama is unfounded. If anything, Clinton has been on the show more than Obama has, and anyway, who cares?
I am continuely amazed at the constant coverage of these candidates AND THEIR SPOUCES when they are clearly second rate hacks. Why are candidates like Gov. Richardson, and Senators Edwards and Dodd assigned second tier status when they are the better qualified and more experienced individuals. I'm supporting Bill Richardson for President.
It's not surprising that those leftists libs on that "show" would be breathlessly inviting Michelle to co-host. Don't know if I can stand the bowing and scraping(barf) that will be going on? Can you imagine the "View" having Judi Guiliani or Jeri Thompson as guest host? They would be skewered in the first 5 minutes. Barbara should know better but I believe she has lost her senses.
"God help us all if the Obamas end up in the White House. They're a nice couple, but Barack is way too inexperienced to lead this country. Hillary, on the other hand, is the only Democratic candidate who has the experience and wisdom to take this country in a new direction.

So, let me get this straight, Obama has less experience than Hil? because Hil was married to a Pres? No one has experience at being President except ex-Presidents! Katie, stop listening to people and start reading...you'll find that Obama has more experience as an elected offical than any of the other Dem. candidates.
"There goes my support for the Obama campaign. No way I can support a candidate whose campaign uses that awful piece of tripe television show as a platform.
Sorry, Barack, you just jumped the shark.

Johnny boy! If her appearance on a TV show has shaken your faith in her husband as the leader of the free world then you really are simple minded. good-bye and happy travels. I hope you don't get lost trying to find you way around your apartment!
I'm a white conservtive Republican, and proud of it. Now, that's a woman !
I think all those women on the "View" should listen to the men. Vote for the men because they'll tell you to do it. You women don't have it together to lead the country. You're weak because men will tell you what to do and you'll do it. You don't have enough courage to stand up for yourself. You can always vote for the next woman to run. When do you think it will be? Michelle Obama is a conduite for men.
This election will show us what kind of " I am woman, hear me roar" What a joke. Just posers you are. This is your chance don't blow it.
I am sure of the sheeple will eat it up and enjoy seeing her on the view.
Obama clan gets cheaper by day what is next stop "playboy mansion"
For those of you who can't wait to see Michelle "teach Elizabeth a lesson" um Elizabeth is on maternity leave until January. Michelle is hosting in December so I seriously don't see that happening. Sorry to burst all your bubbles.
I the fairness doctrine were enforced, CNN couldn't continue its 24×7 pro-Hillary coverage.
If the fairness doctrine were enforced, CNN would have to discontinue its 24×7 pro-Hillary coverage!
Enjoy the View:
"In an interview with Glamour magazine, Michelle Obama reveals that her husband, Barack, is so “snore-y and stinky” when he wakes up in the morning"... Remember that?
I am sure she will give you more juicy stories. This is going to be sooogood
Obama's wife has appeared WITH OTHER CANDIDATES WIVES, including Mrs.Romney, McCain,Thompson and Edwards on a show hosted by Maria Schriver Schwarzenegger.
Obama's wife is doing what the other candidates wives are doing...talking up their husband's candidacy. Bill Clinton does the same. I would not vote for Obama because he has never run a business, large or small or a city or a State and his backround is problematic but that said he looks good, talks good and is giving Hillary Clinton fits. That is what I really like about him.
can anyone tell me what was Mr.Obama or
Mrs.Obama SAT scoe was when they apply
for college ?
Oprah didn't work so we'll jump to The View!
In response to Tricia, actually the ratings for The View have been slightly higher this year then at at any time during Rosie's tenure on the show.
This seems like a great chance to appeal to women voters, a demographic that Obama would love to attract a larger share of. If the opportunity was presented then why not take advantage? Whether you support her husband or not, her past appearances would lead one to believe that this will be a very insightful and honest hour of television.
Well, I hope she is a better American than her hubby! I still cannot get over the fact that he could not place his hand over his heart during our National Anthem!! HOW DARE HE! AND you want him as our next president? what a joke. However, she seems like a good choice. afterall, its not permanant. she is only going to be a GUEST host.
No matter how many celebrities or backers of Obama in the talk show business try to give him coverage, the fact remains that he has too many double standards. American people are much smarter than many people give them credit for.
Finally a platform where an Obama can be among her peers. After all look at all the wonderfully well represented and well respected past host such as Rosie O'Donnel and Star Jones. Finally the Obamas are among like minded folks.
