"The President has not misled his spokespeople, nor would he"....but he had no problem misleading the UN and Congress and America's people first about WMDs, then the Saddam-9/11 link, now his new obsession, an IRAN-WMDs link. Why lead America with honorable pragmatic principles that make us safe and respected and prosperous when you can meet your own personal ego agenda as an UNelected President with habitual deceit and making others fall on their swords?

someone asked why Plame is and issue??? Maybe because her husband wanted to tell the world that Iraq was not the threat that Bush needed them to be to justify a war. It shows that Bush purposely tried to mislead the public and look at the results. More Americans dead that 9/11! More Iraqi civilians dead than can be accurately counted! Muslim anti-American sentiments higher than ever in history! Highest oil prices in years! This is why Plame still matters!

Does anyone else enjoy the irony of the President's new spokesperson assuring us that Bush never deceives his spokespersons? How would she know? He is one himself.

And let’s not forget about the U.N. admitting to vastly overstating the number of AIDS cases worldwide.

And yet we're supposed to trust them that "global warming" is a real threat. I, as a scientist, think this "scientific concensus" is absurd.

I didn't know that the UN was primarily a 'scientific' entity. Sounds to me like your discounting scientific consenses based on a faulty AIDS numbers from the UN. Newsflash, I don't think it's the UN that is the primary datasource for Global Warming. I guess I'm confused that a scientist such as yourself is citing faulty AIDS UN data to undermine Global Warming. In science, 'trust' is not quatitative so I find it strange and somewhat dubious that you would even use that terminology for the basis of your opinion. The UN's credibilty is not the issue, we know that they are about as credible as our government.

Why is Valerie Plame still an issue?

Seriously- the name of the person that divulged her name to Robert Novak is Richard Armitage. Not Rove, not Libby, not Cheney, not Bush- no matter how much the media salivated over the prospect of it being one of them. And Armitage wasn't charged with breaking any laws, remember?

McClellan seems bitter that he had to take the brunt of criticism for the President for so long. Whatever helps him sell his book, I guess.

Posted By DT, Wisconsin : November 20, 2007 8:42 pm

Why, DT? Because what they did was TREASON in a time of war. That is a capital offense, should be thoroughly investigated and those responsible punished. Being against the death penalty but very rpo-punishment, a nice long stint in Leavenworth would be just the thing for these traitors.

The fact that Armitage did not get charged shows the extent of the power this president abused to protect himself and all of his cronies. Besides, Armitage, being a very loyal Bushie was probably told that he should take the blame and they would protect him . . . wait a minute, he confessed he leaked her name but didn't get charged . . . hmm.

Let's see, should we still be thinking about an act of treason by the highest officials in public office or a BJ by an intern . . . hmm, decisions, decisions. DT, if they went after Bill for that BJ (maybe offensive to some but definitely not a capital offense), going after these guys for TREASON seems pretty reasonable to me.

As usual, someone who is sympathetic to the traitors attacks McClellan rather than addressing the issue. Typical right wingnut tactic, if you can't effectively dispute the issue, attack the messenger.

Is anyone really surprised by this?

By the way righty/tighty, it does not matter about the surge working, the real reason they were there was to give the government there time to get it together, which they have not. Are we going to stay until they do? And I would hardly say that they are getting comfortable with their democracy. Huh? Just like most of Bush's dillusional supporters to cloud over details. When the surge ends in the spring (we can't afford any extension) violence will probably start again. The fact is the invasion was based on a lie, no matter how much you want to gloss it over.

Stem cell research again showing your ignorance. If it had not been for embryonic research, the researchers would have never discovered they could do this. Another words, if embryonic stem cell research had been shut down from day one then we would not be where we are today.

For the last seven years we have witnessed how pathological lliers, namely: disaster George Bush and sicko Dick Cheney transformed lying into a popular profession.
American families are dinintegrating.
Prison populations in America are exploding.
Cities and bridges are collapsing.
Citizen's homes are being repossessed.
Bank and financial institutions are going bankrupt.
Still disaster George Bush and sicko Dick Cheney are lying.
Gas prices are skyroketing.
Inflation is out of control.
America's Best GIs are dying.
War veterans are committing suicide.
Current administration's debts cannot be calculated.
Kids at schools cannot learn basic education.
Moral and Christian values of our religious leaders are disintegrating.
Our borders are being wide open to DPs and whoever wants to come to America.
Still pathological liers are lying.
Is this the legacy of Disaster George Bush ?
I am a Republican and I believe what Scott McClellan says.
A friendly advice to Stanzel: Shut your mounth now so that you will not regret later on.
That's the way is was when Disaster George Bush was President.

And why would we believe Novak. Last time I checked he was a convicted felon from none other than the Nixon administration. Nice try. Please keep us abreast of developing old talking points from FauxNoise.

McClellan is obviously yet another America-hating left wing whacko Liberal trying to smear this grand Cheney/Bush presidency. Next thing you know some Liberal wing nut who also resigned will claim that Bush and Cheney lied about WMDs in Iraq, or that Saddam was involved with Bin Laden and 9-11, or that they had Colin Powell give false evidence of those claims both to the UN and the American people, or that they made the EPA and NASA wster down climate change reports, or that...........

I use to love watching the "we hate Bush" crowd. But now, with Iraq beginning to feel comfortable in it's democracy, it’s almost sad to see them still committed to the wrong side of history. Bush is a war criminal!! ..because he ordered an illegal invasion and brought chaos upon the world. Except, the New York Times admitted today that the surge is working and life is returning to normality in Iraq. ABC, NBC, CBS and Newsweek have also been forced to make this same admission. Surprise, surprise, the disastrous war the dems have been crowing about is becoming a fine feather of Iraqi Freedom in Bush’s cap.

Oh, did you notice the scientists that figured out how to make embryonic stem cells from adult skin cells? Yeap, nullifing the need to kill test-tube babies. And let’s not forget about the U.N. admitting to vastly overstating the number of AIDS cases worldwide. I wonder what Bono will says about the U.N. lies?

Were these not all dem talking points against Bush? Heads up dems, Bush is not a war criminal. If you keep this up, you’ll lose the election and become nothing more than an entertaining case of dementia.

The things to think about are these:
Did McClellan really know then that he was misinforming the press and the country?

Why did McClellan come out with it now?

How did he come to the conclusion that he misinformed the country?

Should it really be that surprising that this administration screwed up and outed a covert agent?

Robert Novak should be convicted of revealing the name of a CIA agent. I don't care if the CIA agent is covert or open about working for the CIA; those names should not be released in any way. Robert Novak was wrong to release the name in any case!

Nobody wants to impeach a sitting President! Although, in my opinion THIS Presidents actions warrant worst suffering. Forget it! After Nixon and the aftermath (a la Ford and his pardon) it is a waste of time and money. Because Cheney would definitely give him a pardon! Better to let the people decide and kick his butt...and any other GOP butt out of the White House. The RNC "playbook" is used up. Even the dirty tricks are turned against them. Carl Rove is now rambling incoherently on the sidelines and the Bush Dynasty is over. The current contenders are grappling trying to hang on to an angry base of lunatics--while trying to reach out to reasonable Americans. It's over. Finally the War On America started by Newt Gingrich and his thugs---will be over soon. The only thing close to a Reagan out there is Arnold--and he cannot run (yet). And if he did...I may even vote for him. He would be a breath of fresh air to the current cadre seeking to lead the nation! He's done a pretty good job in California--and at least he is trustworthy.

Of course they'll deny it. The White House and Bush Administration has been lying to the America people for the last 7 years and unfortunately, still have a year to go. Congress needs to impeach this president and vice president and have an interim president take over until the elections. Bush and Cheney are no longer safe for this country.

I am not surprised. Nothing about Bush surprises me anymore. "he speak with forked tongue" hits the nail right on the head when it comes to Bush. I did vote for this boob, and I regret it. I will NEVER vote for any GOP candidates ever again. You guys do not care about our country, or at least the people in it. The GOP only cares about getting themselves rich and how many people they have to step on. They send aid to other countries and yet, right down the street we have kids and vets living on our streets, and Bush veto’s the SCHIP bill. The GOP is not for the little guy, which I am.

Oh boy another one comes out of the closet and tells it like it is. Hurry up repubs, start getting the spin details of how he has been bi-polar for the last eight years, is just 'wanting to sell a book', or that something innocuous happened to him that he misunderstood and now has an axe to grind blah....blah..blah...

He should have an axe to grind, these ruthless baffoons wouldn't spare their own children if it meant buying more time to reconfigure REALITY.

How many more ex-aides and cabinet members need to come out and say these guys are corrupt, ruthless and inept in every capacity of their 'governance'? There's so many it's hard to keep track anymore. The only thing Bush et al are good at is utter stupidity. Say what you want about the Wilson/Plame case, but this is an epic screw-up.

Hurry up Jerry, Brad, Ryan get your thinking caps on and talk about how great we have it in the land of straight talk and values.

Big suprise. Did any body expect: "OK, we concede, the President and VP lied to the nation". As with all GW and Cheney's other machinations the ones who will be sacrificed are the soldiers not the generals. I predict his legacy prove to be a deceitful, perhaps more so, than Nixons when everything we don't know but suspect is known.

I wonder if the White House will deny when this current WH spokesman writes a book that says he misled the public when he denied that the former WH spokesman's denial was in fact the truth?

Has anyone ever counted the number of times the White House has denied accusations against it from staffers who left? Hum, maybe these things are true??

<b>Please impeach these guys. They deserve it.<b>

Well, the Democrats are not going to impeach any of them for fear of getting someone appointed that sets them up for the White House in 08. And if any Republican does happen to win the election, I can bet you the world that each of them will pardon GWB and his pack of liers. Should be a question about the intent to pardon at the Republican debate but I am older and cannot make and send a video question.

Thanks Scott,I knew when you left that having to lie for them every day was getting to you.I also know it couldnt have helped Tony Snows condition either, although I sometimes I think he enjoyed lying to tick the press off. There are alot of good people from Texas, just not enough of them are in the White House now and after this bunch of crooks we dont have much hope of getting the good ones in.

Once again, the strategy is to attack the messenger. First they use him to pass on false information and now they will try and say he is all wrong. I guess Scotty isn't a loyal enough Bushie to escape the attacks we will now hear thrown in is direction from all the republicans.

On the other hand, what can Bush say now, other than deny, deny and deny.

I guess I do not get it, what happened? I find myself wondering about this. McClellan was supposed to be one of the inner Bush circle and was a good friend of Bush. Maybe I misunderstood the relationship.

What changed to make him come out with these accusations now?
