A CNN satellite truck up early Sunday for reporter live shots.

ST. PETERSBURG, Florida (CNN)– Sure, we’d rather be sleeping in on a Sunday morning, but we’re up early and on the job down here in Florida. We’re just outside the Mahaffey Theater along Bayshore Drive. The theater is where the Republican presidential candidates will face off Wednesday night in a CNN YouTube debate.

Inside the theater stage hands and production workers will spend all day building the stage and hanging lights and cables, in advance of the debate.

Outside, we’ll be doing live reports all day on the race for the White House. It’s an early start for us, but it’s nice and warm out, a lot warmer than Iowa or New Hampshire right now.

For: Clifford, St Petersburg, Florida...

I checked my map, and St. Pete is only one inch from Miami... But in terms of how the Police treat the Black Youth there compared to where you are, there is a world of difference. The difference most noticed by the way the Black People of Miami, (more properly Overtown) also live in comparison to the Black People in St. Pete. This I know, having lived in both metropolitan areas, lived through the riot in May of 1980 in Miami where I drove a Metro Taxi and witnessed both the actions of the Power, and the Oppressed.

Let's cut the guy a little slack here. He has a point, and I think the politicians need to address it, not just offer perfunctory jaw-jacking to a real problem that affects the whole of our society. Anytime you think there is no concern, take a walk down 27th Avenue North some night. Thank you.

To AC Itizen, New Orleans
Please do your homework, Miami isn't near St. Petersburg. Miami is about 4 hours from the Tampa Bay area.

Hey CNN, are you going to ask the Republicans whether they "inhaled"?

Or is that just a question that you only want Barack Obama to address?

Desmon, Tampa Florida   November 25th, 2007 2:56 pm ET

With the past history of race relations in St. Petersburg there should be a democratic debate in the area. The Republican canidates are bland and not willing to confront the "real" issues facing the average American citizen.

While in FL check in on this police activity that has adversely impacted the community. What do the candidates think of the allegations atttached?

I hope the next debate will be professional. I was mered to see how the Vegas debate was handled...Can we have some professionism please? This is not third world.
