It's quite a shame to use a person of high esteem like Chuck Norris
I have always had the highest respect for him, but after seeing and hearing
the comments toward Sen. Mc Cain alot of the feeling is gone.

Now that I know who Mike Huckabee is you have my vote. Find a place for Chuck Norris in your administration. Our country was founded by people who believe in God. If you believe in God or you are an agnostic or atheist we live in a country where you can believe in what you want to believe in.
Make it a Huckabee / Giuliani ticket and we have another republican in the White House. Don't forget McCain as Secretary of State.

I have to say that I haven't heard much about Mike Huckabee, but I am curious to know what he is about. Since I am an Independant in the political arena, and most Republicans are conservative, I like to reserve my judgement on people until I get to know more about them. Living in Rural America, we see a lot of Republican actions from the Western side of the state that seems to make decisions that impact of the Eastern side (Democrats) when they seem to not have any idea how their choices affect the daily lives of people that are greatly affected by them. Where does mr. Huckabee stand on the current issues raised daily by the current president and his actions on the impact of the American people as a whole?
Thanks.

Endorsing someone does not include you in everything the candidate has to stand for. There are some people that don't agree with everything this candidate has to say or exactly everything he may stand for, but at some point you have to back someone that stands for the basics. I believe this is what Chuck Norris is backing. Not everything, but most of everything. There are many different views of this debate, I believe the main theme is" What is best for America". let's go with that! If anyone, anyone has a better format, let's hear it!

Hey Jack from Fairfield, IA, let me clarify my point, which perhaps was obscurred by my allusion to the Second Law of Thermodynamics: "The second law of thermodynamics is an expression of the universal law of increasing entropy, stating that the entropy of an isolated system which is not in equilibrium will tend to increase over time, approaching a maximum value at equilibrium." In other words, in a closed system, heat moves from hot to cold until there is equalibrium. Perhaps I should have simply stated the more general principal at work: that everything decays. Yet macroevolution teaches that we build more and more complex things out of simple things without any outside help. Things decay over time. I know of no counterexample, other than the theory of evolution. Jack, how about you explain to me the complete absence of missing links in the fossil record. You see, not only did I learn about evolution inside school, but I've read critiques of it outside of school, which is apparently more than you're willing to do. But no, because I believe in things I can't see, I must be stupid.

To Wayne in Greenville Texas:

There will be a coming...and you "apes" won't be going!

Evolution is a concept IMAGINED in a MAN'S mind to make MAN absolute of his own "self-given" authority. You "apes" will just have to see to believe. But when that day DOES come, it will be too late for the "apes". How sad is it to believe that only MAN is in control. Men have done such a wonderful job proving their greatness.

I will pray for you!

I want a President that does NOT think that power starts and stops at their hands, but in fact realizes that GOD exists and has the humility to ask GOD for guidance.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12

The quickest way to a man's heart is with Chuck Norris's fist.

The only hope the other Republican candidates have at this point is to secure the endorsement of Vin Diesel or Mr T.

"On Saturday in South Carolina, Huckabee said if there was an "imminent threat" inside Pakistan, he would take military action there, even if it meant violating Pakistan's sovereignty under international law."

What the country does not need is another Christian Cowboy ... no country left unbombed ... those who are willing to ignore international laws, also are willing to ignore our own laws ...

Kyle, Houston, TX

if you think he is reaching the "young voter demographic" then you cant be that young. especially with chuck norris!!!

Tony G/Virginia

i agree with you 100% why are these people FOR prayer in school. do they really think THAT will save america?? we have just had the most religious administration in american history as far as i can see and it was a complete failure, no matter what the ignorant people of this country want to believe. havent we learned our lesson from the past? a nation based on religion will always fail. isnt that one of the MAIN reasons our founding fathers fought so hard. we had a revolution for a reason and these so-called "real americans" are trying so hard to undo everything our ancestors fought so hard for. i know a girl that was homeschooled then put into a christian jr high school and a christian high school and now going to a christian college and she can barely spell. she has no idea about science or math and she wants to go to a regular college but her mother is refusing to let her go to one!! these are the same people voting for prayer in school! its such a shame....look prayer works for some people but for others it doesnt. and as a democracy you CANT force BELIEFS on people especially in school. look at what they do in the middle east!! we are so against that but these hypocritical christians cant even see the difference because they see there religion as "good" and their religion as evil. its just so sad. and chuck norris?!?! you cant be seriouos look at the man. you know you cant have a normal conversation with him he looks like an anti-social manequin!!! i wish this country could grow and understand CHANGE IS GOOD!!!!

please let the democrats win, at least we wont have to deal with ideoligists that will force there ideas on everyone else.

It always seems to come down to a large bloc of voters that equate how much one endorses the importance of faith and religion over intelligence, rational thought, education, foreign policy skill, strength of leadership, decency, and concern for all Americans. Chuck Norris: "Someone who is not afraid to stand up for a creator and resist secular influences! [sic] It seems like the folks that are not capable of thinking rationally about complex issues always fall back on the old tired and true (I mean tried and true) arguement that anybody that doesn't make a big deal about how religious they are is automatically "against" any religious belief or "moral" stance. Look... most of us are moral in our own way. Most of us believe in decency, clean living, patriotism, loyalty, respect for all types of people (well..some of us) kindness, and etc. It is this unfortunate holdover from the Puritan 1600s that so many people judge the standard of decency by the ability to roll one's eyes toward the sky and intone a professed devotion to faith, God, and to heck with anything else because it's just not important! This is not faith or religious belief, it is rather an effort by people that are confused and afraid of the world around them to try and find an anchor in their lives and make some sense of a world that grows increasingly complex and unstable. We dont need a president that is "not afraid to stand up for a creator" (the constitution does that) but rather a leader that can keep us safe, respected, and prosperous. Let's let the Middle Eastern barbarians be the ones that rule by theocracy and a society of intellectual darkness, Draconian punishment, and backward thinking.

If you think the Bible is a fairy tale, read the Book of Mormon.

Seriously, read it and try to tell me a guy dug up magic plates in upstate New York and that Israelis sailed to the Americas thousands of years ago before being killed by persons who God punished by making them colored.

The chief export of Chuck Norris is pain.

I just find it so hard to believe that Huckabee is including Norris in his ads!! It's one thing for Norris to endorse him - but for Huckabee to actually sit with him in a political ad....???!!!There's an example of good judgment. And then to say how much fun all this is? Hey, I like to have fun as much - or more - than the next guy - but this is the most important presidential election we have faced in at least what 25 years or so?? This isn't FUN!
I read some of Norris' stuff on that website. Free speech and a free press are wonderful gifts we have here, but yeah : Huckabee is "not afraid to stand up for a Creator and against secularist beliefs" is pretty scary. I'm not against God but please, there has to be a separation of church and state. Like a previous poster said, you want a theocracy - go to Iran or Saudi Arabia.

Some of people are going to be totally screwed at the coming.

I can understand a disdain from organized religion, but I cannot believe the hatred and agony toward God some of you have.

It's going to be a char fest and He won't be roasting smores.

Chris I think you need to take it easy on these people. It's not up to us to determine who will burn and who will not.

If Saul of Tarsus were on this blog before his conversion, Christians today would have judged him as toast too. I don't understand why Christians sell God short on His ability to bring non-believers to His Son. That's pretty much all he's done since the beginning of human creation. Paul himself said that he was the worst sinner by persecuting Christians, even to the point of allowing Stephen to die. Stephen himself did not condemn Saul for his actions. And Christ had every reason to condemn the very men nailing Him to the Cross, but did He? That's why we're not in charge Chris, if we were then anyone who was a blasphemer would be toast.

We can confront behavior and defend Christ but calling people toast puts you in the postition that only the Son Hiself owns. And the Bible says that judgement will begin in the House of God, so perhaps we should take heed as to how we are reacting to those who may not know any better. Christ said of His people "those who do not gather my sheep scatter".

That's pretty cut and dry, and it's something we rarely ask of ourselves when we pop off at others out of emotion.

So Huckabee and Chuck Norris are RACIST because they are both white?

See how smart that sounds, like Obama and Oprah are racist.

Be real folks an endorcement is just an endorcement. If it helps a candidate then good move for that candidate. THAT IS ALL IT MEANS

We gotta stop criticizing people for believing in God. Its the biggest misconception in the world that Christians think there better than everone else. The essence of the whole religion is that we KNOW we're not better than anyone, and we try everyday to correct and improve on each of our infinite flaws.
Posted By Horatio, Providence RI : November 26, 2007 3:12 pm

I try very hard not to criticize people simply for believing in God. A large number of people in my family are devout Christians, of the sort whom you would probably get along with quite well, because they have the same worldview you expressed so eloquently.

However, I have no problem criticizing in the most vociferous terms those alleged Christians who believe they ARE better then everyone else, who think everyone should be forced to believe what they believe, and who would consign to perdition (or a jail cell) every person who deviates from (or even questions) their dogma. I will not be quietly tolerant of their loud intolerance.

Nor will I let them continue to play the "victim" card, claiming that Christians in this country are subject to persecution and "liberal media bias" and countless alleged slights such as the ridiculous "War on Christmas" nonsense. When a Bible-thumping former preacher-turned-politician from Arkansas is considered a viable candidate for President, while an avowed atheist couldn't get elected dog-catcher in most counties in this country, Christians need to stop whining about how oppressed they are.

Christians who follow the Sermon on the Mount, and truly understand what Jesus was talking about when he said that stuff about "what you do to the least of these" are people I can applaud and support. "Cafeteria Leviticans" who apparently stopped reading the Bible at the verse where God expresses his disapproval of gays - feh.

If I had to chose between the two theories of mankind evolving over millions of years or some invisible presense creating the world by saying 'Let there be light' because it is written somewhere in a 2000 year old book, I would have to go with evolution.

Implying that you have to choose is a faulty argument. Perhaps "let there be light" is the only way to phrase how the laws of physics and chemistry were created. If you study science, it is almost amazing the way things come together. There is no proof, only wonder. That applies to all things, even scientific "laws" like Newton's...which Einstein technically disproved. I believe in God because of science, experience, and history. A true scientist would never say that data is mutually exclusive...there's no such thing.

Not a good idea.

Inner cities struggle to lower murder rates and gun violence. This issue is not remotely humorous in Detroit, Philadelphia, Baltimore and many other cities plagued by gun violence.

Perhaps Mike Huckabee, coming from a rural area, just doesn't understand that there are many of us who equate guns with fear and violence.

If he wants to be president, he needs to represent everyone. Not just folks who use guns for legitimate sport and hunting ventures.

Perhaps Mike Huckabee, coming from a rural area, just doesn't understand that there are many of us who equate guns with fear and violence.

If he wants to be president, he needs to represent everyone. Not just folks who use guns for legitimate sport and hunting ventures.

Pascals' wager is pretty specious. After all, God could tell if you actually believed in your heart, or if you were just hedging your bets and behaving like a good Christian. (Humans can't read their fellow human's minds, but God can.) If the latter, you cannot be accepted into Heaven. After all, the grossest sinner, if they repent, can be made welcome in Heaven.

If God exists, I think a person who affirmatively denied any religion, and then lived an exemplary moral life, is probably better off than someone who professed a religion and didn't actually believe it, unless they lived an EVEN more exemplary moral life.

Where are the "racial overtones" comments PEOPLE?

James from Phoenix Arizona?
Dan from Columbia Maryland?
And the rest of you?

Whaa? I make racist overtones? Can I download that to my cellphone? :-)

What does Chuck's endorsement of Huck's run for prez have to do with race and what exactly are these racist statements I make? Help me out here since I am completely void of white man's guilt.

I'll pray for you tonight. The truth will eat at you day and night.

In the meantime I urge everyone here to vote for Ron Paul. You want a revolution? You want a strong leader with bold ideas? You've had it all this time. The media just won't spotlight him.

Let bitter people write whatever they want but overcome it by staying on topic and giving reasons why you believe the article to be true or false. Don't waste your precious time in the cancerous battles that many will try and pull you into.

Hey Bill, you even more dimwitted fool, even if our ancestors did hunt and kill this mythical "bridge" species to extinction, there would still be RECORDS of its EXISTENCE in FOSSILES, exactly the same evidence we have of the dinosaurs. That is, unless our primitive relatives were able to grind every single one of these missing links around the planet to absolute dust. Show me the method by which the laws of thermodynamics are broken to add more complexity to organisms in a closed system without an outside energy or "creative" force, and I will begin to believe macroevolution as more than just a thinly veiled attempt to deny the existence of God.

Hey Travis, the most dimwitted fool of all: go back to school and actually learn something about evolution and the laws of thermodynamics. It's painfully obvious you know nothing about either because your statements are incorrect. Unfortunately, for all your ignorant blather you don't see creationism for what it is-a thinly veiled attempt to force religion into the classroom

jnick,

Pascal's Wager is quite a disingenuous reason for believing in Bronze Age superstition, not to mention the false dichotomy it presents. Though I have to admit, it is a very human tendency to engage in specific behaviors for perceived rewards.

I am sick to death of people bashing Huckabee because he believes in God. You know when we have a problem? When a president is willing to do bad things because he has no fear that something bad may happen back to him. Isn't that what everyone has been complaining about with 43.

We gotta stop criticizing people for believing in God. Its the biggest misconception in the world that Christians think there better than everone else. The essence of the whole religion is that we KNOW we're not better than anyone, and we try everyday to correct and improve on each of our infinite flaws.

Keep doin what your doin, Huckabee. Your a breath of fresh air.

Your comment:
The Bible is a fairy tale of sorts that you either believe in or not.

I think I had rather believe in it now and find out it wasn't true than not to believe in it only to find out it was.
