Chuck Norris greeted members of the audience prior to Wednesday's debate.

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Cult hero and avid Mike Huckabee supporter Chuck Norris watched the CNN/YouTube debate from a front-row seat Wednesday night at the Mahaffey Theater at Progress Energy Center for the Arts in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Norris, the star of "Walker, Texas Ranger," released a television ad supporting the former Arkansas governor for president last week.

We could begin administering tests to people before allowing them to vote but that would probably violate the Civil Rights Voting Act…

Huckabee for President!!!

AJ, Iowa City, IA   November 30th, 2007 2:01 am ET

To Matt Lee (Long Beach), Susan (Phoenix) and T Damico (PA), Corby (MT): Maybe when you are paying 23% (federal) or 30% (federal+state) sales tax and then Mikey gives your tax money to some (low income-rebate) illeagals' college tuition you may not feel like it is so fair. Maybe you need to gather some facts about old "Tax-hike Mike's" record! It will increase the burden on the middle class only further separating classes in America. Come back to reality! All Huckle-Liby said in the "debate" was: Only parts of the Bible are true; Medicine comes from the space program; dodge question; illegals' children are more important than our own; dodge question; wwjd; rewrite the tax-code so we can spend more; Chuck Norris; wwjd. Sums it up! Hickleberry=Clinton you do the math.

LQ ROCHESTER MN   November 29th, 2007 12:37 pm ET

Chuck Norris approved? Well, that about sums it up, doesn't it

"hes a great minister and you would love to hear him preach"? um…..if you never heard him preach how is he a great minister?? just a question CNN please dont erase this!

p.s. chuck norris is just anti social and creepy i could only see his endorsement as hurting a candidate with rational voters but maybe boosting his irrational voters. but hey its all votes isnt it. there should be tests taken before you are aloud to vote for a candidate….

Ron, Charlottesville VA   November 29th, 2007 8:50 am ET

How can the IRS be "unconstitutional" when the income tax was authorized by a constitutional amendment?

This seems like a know-nothing comment to me.

Surrealist, Fort Myers, FL   November 29th, 2007 8:16 am ET

Chuck Norris draws looks–after all he's a cowboy hat wearing Texas Ranger. But geez–Huckleberry's agenda (if he really has one except for his glibb remarks and gospel lectures)appear to have warranted about as much thought as he gives to zipping up his fly. What a joke. No more Texan's for President–please!!

Steve in Charlotte   November 29th, 2007 7:29 am ET

CNN PLEASE STOP RUNNING STORIES ABOUT CHUCK NORRIS AND HUCKABEE… ITS NOT NEWS!!!!!

Michael, Bismarck Arkansas   November 29th, 2007 6:48 am ET

Yeah, Huckabee showed his humor but he certainly also showed his serious side.

Good showing at the debate Mike, Arkansas supports you!

Roger Uville Ohio   November 29th, 2007 6:41 am ET

I watched the debate last night. When it was over I decided that I wasted two hours. What a bunch of jerks the Republicans have offered to the country.

Daniel, Greenbay, WI   November 29th, 2007 5:43 am ET

I'll kick the crap out of Chuck Norris. Could he possibly have a little more plastic surgery?

Anonymous   November 29th, 2007 4:45 am ET

If you pick a president because Chuck Norris said too, then you should leave the country.

Independent in IA   November 29th, 2007 4:29 am ET

Chuck Who? Oh, yeah….the guy that cracks his knuckles a lot…Huckleberry's….er….Huckabee's bodyguard….

CNN is a bought tool.   November 29th, 2007 4:25 am ET

Chuck Norris on FOX AND CNN?

There IS a conspiracy!!!

alan St Louis MO   November 29th, 2007 3:49 am ET

The Chuck Norris jokes going get new material to start a new wave.

If chuck Norris ran for Office would there be an election??

no they all be to scarred of him.

Tina St. Louis, Mo   November 29th, 2007 2:51 am ET

Who really cares if Chuck Norris approves of anything? CNN needs to remove it's head from orifice.

Corby, Lolo Montana   November 29th, 2007 2:26 am ET

I am not sure if Mr. Johnson actually watched the debate. If he had, then he would realize that Mike Huckabee offered much more than just comical relief. Huckabee was one of the few candidates who did not stoop to personal attacks, even though he was subject to them through the night. In addition, his answers on the Bible, space exploration, dept reduction (yes he does want to completely rewrite our taxation system…check out his website for details!) were rather eloquent and well thought out. I believe that by far in large Mike Huckabee was the most well spoken of the candidates tonight.

T Damico, Butler, PA   November 29th, 2007 2:10 am ET

Huckabee is not a clown…go to his site and read about The Fair Tax plan and maybe getting rid of the IRS won't sound so bad. Chuck has good reasons for supporting this man, I suggest you gather some facts before you cast judgement, I know he would do that much for you!

Susan, phoenix, az   November 29th, 2007 1:42 am ET

getting rid of IRS - no joke - can you say fair tax everyone? This is a consumer tax - no income tax. Read about it under issues at MikeHuckabee.com

Angela, Troy, MI   November 29th, 2007 1:39 am ET

Chuck Norris supports Mike Huckabee? BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

Cathy, Surprise, AZ   November 29th, 2007 1:31 am ET

Governor Huckabee spoke well, had poise and was in control at all time and seemed very presidential. Yes - he had humor at the right times. I was very impressed. As far as clowns being in the White House: we already had one in Clinton. He shamed the White House and the Presidency.

Matt Lee, Long Beach, CA   November 29th, 2007 1:14 am ET

Andrew in Iowa City, look into Huckabee's Fair Tax. Very revolutionary. Taxes everybody the same (include those who don't pay taxes ie: Drug dealers, illegal immigrants, etc) as it is a tax on goods rather than a tax on income. It could cut some of the bureaucratic b.s. in Washington and cut down on the stress of the average American. There is also minimal exemptions for low income families, so really….is it that bad of an idea?

Kent, Little Egg Harbor, NJ   November 29th, 2007 12:58 am ET

Chuck-abee, Schmuck-abee. Nobody cares about these two. 60% of Americans want us OUT of Iraq, 70% of Americans want our national borders (especially our southern one) SECURED. THOSE are the top 2 issues of the day! Only Dr. Ron has the right prescription for a SICK America!!

robinson   November 29th, 2007 12:47 am ET

He's serious about dissolving the IRS! It's unconstitutional! Huckabee for president!

Sarah, Merced CA   November 29th, 2007 12:42 am ET

Hell yes, we want someone with a sense of humor in the oval office!! Huckabee is awesome and there won't be all the er, uh, well crap we have to listen to with Bush, you ask Huckabee a question - he answers it and a lot of time it's with a lot of humor.

Andrew Johnson, Iowa City, IA   November 29th, 2007 12:29 am ET

Was this a debate or standup comedy club? Did Huckabee say anything that wasn't a joke? I think the disolution of the IRS was a joke… or was he serious? Do we really want a clown as president? Wait… let me think about that one. Maybe he'd enlist Norris and roundhouse kick Al'Queda. Go gett'em Chuck.

Eric Murphy Ayden, NC   November 28th, 2007 11:59 pm ET

Chuck Norris is overrated.

Haygood Poundston, Montgomery AL   November 28th, 2007 11:45 pm ET

Chuck Norris went to the same plastic surgeon that Kenny Rogers did.

William Courtland, Waterford, Ontario   November 28th, 2007 11:45 pm ET

Former professional action/adventure actor who is still with fans…

Cult… is not an appropriate word. Ori?

Karen Houston,TX   November 28th, 2007 11:28 pm ET

Chuck Norris creeps me out! Mike Huckabee is okay except for the fact that he would hand over my tax dollars to a line of illegals in order to pay their way to college while my five American born children get to do it the good ol' fashioned American way! Now that I think about it, I'd like to give both of those idiots a boot to the head!
Huckabee, you're a great minister and I'd love to hear you preach, but stay out of the White House. . . Please.

God Bless.

chiles, santa fe. nm.   November 28th, 2007 11:12 pm ET

Chuck Norris looked good. For an old guy. But why the celebrity special treatment. If an average person like moi wanted a "front row" seat could I have had one? …

Anonymous   November 28th, 2007 11:09 pm ET

Yawn nobody cares.
CNN also just flushed its credibility down the toilet with how biased and unfair this debate was.

Matt Schrader, Austin Texas   November 28th, 2007 11:06 pm ET

Chuck Norris would have joined the debate but was not allowed due to the fact that every question he would have been asked would have resulted in roundhouse kicks to the face.

Chris, Pensacola FL   November 28th, 2007 11:01 pm ET

He did seem to make that italian candidate nervous.
