So how can republicans justify the fact that every bill the democrats have introduced to try to curb gas prices the REPUBLICANS HAVE BLOCKED. AND if the MSM would report that maybe the country would know it.

It's not price gouging, its supply and demand based on good ole fasion capitolism. Government could help in the stroke of congress hands if they wanted to by repealing some of the taxes and sur charges during the holiday seasons or during months of high demand. A huge portion of our price per gallon goes to that,,,But that would take a congress that actually cared about this issue to work together republicans AND democrats to see that we all got by this winter.

You know there was one of those conspiracy theory accusations when Bush was running last time that he had shook hands with the Arabs to keep the gas prices down till after the election and sure enough they did drop during the period before the election and Bush took credit in his speeches at the time for the prices falling. Then they rose back up after the election...conspiracy theory yes...compelling one though.

The Republicans are right on in pointing out this failure of the "Won't Impeach Anyone", "Won't End the Reign of Corrupt Lobyists", and "Won't End the Corrupt Iraq War" Democrats. The Republicans seem honest on this one, i.e., admittedly beholden to the petroleum machine while Democrats would act the same but talk as if they were independent. Let's tax the excess profits in favor of subsidizing efforts at energy independence.

Was it not Pelosi and crowd who promised an end to high gas prices in the last election campaigns? Guess we can add that to the list of broken promises by politicians.

Uh well, gas prices don't bother me anyway. In fact, for what it is, it's pretty cheap. (Not that I wouldn't want $2 gas again!!!)

I don't believe in punishing oil companies for making a profit and I don't support the government forcing the hand of Americans with regard to which car they drive. But I do advocate removing state and federal taxes from a gallon of gas. I hope to hear candidates for President also suggest eliminating taxes on gas. That is an easy way to lower the price of a gallon of gas.

Republicans helped oil fat cats line their pockets at the expense of the rest of us? So what else is new?

If you don't like the powerful and privileged getting more power and privilege, DON'T VOTE REPUBLICAN!

The Republicans can complain all they want, but this ad is spot-on. The GOP (up to and including Bush and Cheney) are responsible for this mess.
