(CNN) - Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, while answering a question about cutting government programs to save money, gave his reason for getting rid of the IRS. "Most of the people in this country are more afraid of an audit than they are of a mugging, and there's a reason why." The former governor supports a "fair tax" program, which taxes people based on their consumption, or spending habits, and includes rebates for people on the poverty line, according to his platform. While answering the same question, he also promised to revamp the Department of Homeland Security, which he said is "a mess." Related video: Huckabee: Get rid of IRS – CNN's Adam P.
