ST. PETERSBURG, Florida (CNN) - On the Bible, minister and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee let former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani off the hook, agreeing with Giuliani that parts of the Bible are allegorical.

for a country founded on separation of church and state, religious issues keep coming into play. I would have liked to see a candidate respond with "that question has no place in electing a president."
Man Huck, that was a HUGE mistake.
You either believe the WHOLE thing, or NOTHING.
To side with Rudy (at least as CNN says) you show that your pastorial days are long over.
Return to the light and seek the truth.
It might be better to return to your prior life to rebirth yourself in the Lord. Politics might of put you on a wrong path brother.
I agree with Giuliani on the Bible. I believe it is the word of God, but even Christ told parables. It is difficult to know which parts of the Bible are literal and which parts are not. Belief however clearly changes and evolves over time.
The guy is a past minister and says there's parts of the Bible that we just shouldn't understand??? Hmmm, that's interesting. I would think a God, our Heavenly Father, would want to know Him completely.
Huckabee used the example of Jonah and the Whale when he mentioned some parts of the Bible are allegorical. Huck said blatantly, yes, he believes the Bible is the word of God. Some parts of the Bible being allegorical, which they are, does not discount the faith of Huckabee one bit.
Leave it to CNN to put their own spin on Huckabee's answer.
