Obama's campaign has launched a new Web site designed to track and respond to attacks by Clinton’s campaign

WASHINGTON (CNN) — After a tense weekend that saw a marked escalation in an already brutal war of words between the two Democratic frontrunners, Barack Obama’s campaign launched a new salvo Monday with a Web site designed to track and respond to attacks by Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

“We're asking all of you to be vigilant and notify us immediately of any attacks from Sen. Clinton or her supporters as soon as you see them so that we can respond with the truth swiftly and forcefully,” campaign spokesman Bill Burton wrote supporters. “[These] attacks could be phone calls, literature drops, blog posts, mail pieces as well as radio and TV ads. Some could even be anonymous or designed to be.”

The New York senator’s campaign has been ramping up its assault on Obama’s record over the past few weeks, but stepped up attacks this weekend after new polls seemed to show the Illinois senator had dramatically narrowed his deficit in New Hampshire, and even grabbed the lead in Iowa in a survey released Saturday. Just a few months ago, Obama trailed Clinton by double-digit margins in both states.

“Less than twelve hours after that poll came out, the Clinton campaign launched a series of baseless attacks against Senator Obama,” wrote Burton, referring to a Clinton campaign release that accused the Illinois senator of hiding early presidential ambitions. “Panicked by the poll numbers, they even attacked Barack for telling his kindergarten teacher what he wanted to be when he grew up. I wish I were joking.”

Responding to the new Web site, Clinton spokesman Phil Singer said, "It's rather disingenuous of Sen. Obama to complain about questions being raised about his record — which remains unknown to voters — considering that he has spent the last three months impugning Sen. Clinton’s character. When it comes to changing our politics, Sen. Obama talks a good game but clearly lacks the courage of his convictions."

On Sunday, Clinton aide Howard Wolfson also renewed criticism of Obama for allegedly mishandling political action committee donations, telling viewers of CBS’s Face the Nation that "there's a lot that voters don't know about Barack Obama." Later that day, Clinton directly assailed Obama’s veracity for the first time, telling reporters at a New Hampshire campaign stop that "you can't get a straight answer" from Obama on health care.

"I have said for months that I would much rather be attacking Republicans, and attacking the problems of our country, because ultimately that's what I want to do as president," said Clinton. "But I have been, for months, on the receiving end of rather consistent attacks. Well, now the fun part starts. We're into the last month, and we're going to start drawing the contrasts."

Wolfson also signaled that Clinton would be drawing sharper contrasts with her opponents after months of criticism from her primary rivals. "Sen. Obama is a fabulous orator, but we need more than words,” he told the Washington Post in a story published Monday. “We don't need someone who says one thing and does another, somebody who talks a good game but doesn't have the courage of their convictions.”

I can't believe these people in favor of Obama, it's crazy as he has no real credentials to be president. This is the same thing they did to get Bush elected, rah, rah, join our team. This is not a game . This is serious business and I would not vote for him as he would not know where to start. The Clinton years were good for the average american and Bush has destroyed everything to do with our country. With Obama you would be getting the same thing. I am 73 and follow politics and I knew Bush would be a disaster. I may not vote for the first time in 50 years . You or I may be sorry again!!!!

John Dalton, Nashville, Tennessee   December 10th, 2007 10:22 pm ET

I am not a big fan of Hillary (I prefer Dodd for Dem or Romney for Rep) but I have becoming more and more dissapointing and utterly disgusted with Obama recently. Whatever moral respect I had for Obama before is zero now.

Having following every single of the Democratic Debate and seeing Obama (and Edwards) constantly attacking Hillary and now turning the table around and accusing Hillary playing attacking politiks? I couldn't believe this. What credibility has Obama got left (forget about Edwards, he never have any credibility at all).

Guys, you all say Hillary is hypocrite, but well, isn't Obama and Edwards a meaner hypocrite, preaching one thing and practising another. I can list hundreth of examples but i would left this to my wise fellow brothers to think about it.

If you dont like posts criticizing your hero, dont read them. I didnt see anything in your post that evidenced logic, much less intelligence. Your post states

"bashing Obama do not even have the slightest big of substance/facts/logic involved"

The slightest "big?" If you are going to write a post extolling your intelligence and logic, you might try and avoid typos.

Considering lots of mistakes and flip-flops of Obama, he needs a big book to document them.

Matt, Milwaukee, Wi   December 4th, 2007 5:05 am ET

Wow. I can't believe there are people on this blog who are kissing Hillary's feet. Please people, go back and re-read this article and then tell me again who is attacking whom. First, the HONORABLE Sen. Obama isn't complaining about being attacked, he is simply tracking them so as to respond with fact. Second, anyone who goes into a public forum and says, 'Yeah, I used drugs once, and INHALED. It was a bad choice,' doesn't seem to me to be hiding his record. Third, go do some research and see if you can't get straight answers from Sen. Obama since he's had the same stance on the issues since his first year as Illinois state senator-12 years ago. Does Sen. Obama attack Mrs. Clinton's character? YES. On the issues. Re-read. I do distinctly see Mrs. Clinton attacking Sen. Obama's character-but not on issues because if you had actually been paying attention, you'd see Mrs. Clinton cannot back up her stance on anything because she is more interested in playing PoliTricks than tackling any real issues. Go back and check her last few votes. She votes just like GWB wants her to and we're supposed to believe that is change?

For the millionth time; Please people, stop being so brain-dead and take a good hard look at the facts. Stop following blindly. Those pro-Clinton posts, I'm sad to say, sound more interested in a candidate that is good at playing PoliTricks than has real substance.

I think all this is so childish. Both Hillary and Barach should be working on their campaigns rather than trash talking one another. Why not try using your free time to connect with the public, since we are the ones determining the next president. Personally, if i were for Barach, i wouldn't be listening to what Hillary had to say anyways.

I'm voting Obama. Should Obama win the primaries like i hope he does then we will be a country having to choose between Obama as a democrat or either huckabee or Rudy for the republicans. At that time will we as democrats pull together? I think and hope so.
And should by some chance Hillary win the nomination, well… that was what the breakfast with Indepentant Michael Bloomberg was about. Obama will be on the presidential ballot in '08.

Hey Independent in IA, it's feel bad, not feel badly. Also, judging by your shameful twisting of Sen. Obama's name, you're the ignorant one.

Mr "Posted By Keith, Chicago : December 3, 2007 4:22 pm"
I will never vote for Barack Hussein Obama:
1)Hussein barack's voting record shows that he stands for nothing or he is more conservative than Hillary.
2) He is desperate to be president of this county without any experience, and he even uses Karl Rove from back door as his adviser; one can tell how desperate he is.
3) He hasn't comment anything about Bush administration in compared to Clinton administration which was one of the best time in American History for many reason.
4) He things he is for poor and don't hesitate to use his upbringing to get African American voters but he never mention his mothers name or anything, seems he very shame for it.

5) His foreign experience is being in Jakarta when he was 10 yrs old: stupid explanation, i should run for president because i have more than that.

6) His health care plan is empty plan covers nobody except children which Hillary did long time back.

7) Obama didn't grew up in the USA, so this is not his true mother land:
if he has so much proud of being in Indonesia he definitely have proud of being Madrasa School too; so wen don't know what is his intension are to get in the White House.

I want Hillary for many reason, mostly she has been tested, seen her worse part and good part and she is very passionate for the cause she has been working for.

I will never ever vote for Obama..Never!

jmaya, iowa   December 3rd, 2007 10:28 pm ET

Barack Obama Hussein must stop to lie to people and attack Hillary. You are worse than LALU PRASAD YADABb of India who wins election EVERY TIME by money and gundas, Barack Hussein has been using PAC money to buy supporters and endorsement, shame on you Hussein Barack!
Barack's HOPE OF CHANGE IS EMPTY talk just like him in shiny suit.

Blog Post?????? For months, all the vile, cruel, awful things that have been posted about Clinton in the blogosphere have pretty much gone unchecked. I was astonished when I first started to read the kind of things that were being posted by Obama supporters. And now it seems like Obama wants to contain anything negative that is said about him, even on the internet. I find this uneasy and alarming. His naivety and lack of experience in politics is really showing through. If he can't even handle "attacks" (which are actually true) from Hillary Clinton, how is he going to handle it when the world is watching and scrutinizing his every move as president? This person is no leader!

OBAMA 2008   December 3rd, 2007 9:21 pm ET

Thank God I was starting to wonder if I was the only Obama supporter on here or not. It makes me smile when i see these comments about her because finally people are starting to catch on. I have been against her sense this all started and now people are starting too realize to and that makes me happy and i am hoping that in 2008 we wont get screwed over like we have with bush! i am hoping that by the time we go to vote that people will realize hey haillary is stupid! and thats exactly what she is!

dear democrats… if you wish to take control of the white house in 08 i suggest you promote someone like obama over hillary… I would never vote for her… and 50+ of the country I would seriously consider him…or biden….even dodd…

Karsen Rumpf, Iowa City IA   December 3rd, 2007 8:11 pm ET

There is more dirt on Hilary in one week then there is on Obama in all his life. It seems like every day I hear something Hilary did whether it be taking money from criminals, treating Americans like idiots at a national televised debate, support another corporate interest, and brag about her experience that she doesn't have. All that she has on Obama is that he said he wanted to be president in third grade. I don't remember anything I did in third grade. Oh, and I love how she wants to force me to buy health care and then penalize me if I can't afford it.

Robert M. Reidy N.Y.   December 3rd, 2007 7:49 pm ET

Hillary don't you realize that you are messing with the president of the Harvard Law Review. Your laughable low life Rove tactics will be turned on you every time.
You are underscoring your old dirty politics rap. Old politics all the way.
Obama is not only ahead of the curve
he is defining it, and taking you people to school!

"Fun"? Her own comments make her sound like a jerk. And she actually said that she wants to be "attacking Republicans" when she is president. Wow, that will really bring the country together, yep, that's some good thinking, there, Clinton. You are a divider.

Hussein Osama, chicago, IL   December 3rd, 2007 6:46 pm ET

The truth hurts Obama.

Based on the APA poll released today, more democrat voters in IA, NH & SC beleive in Hillary over Obama in handling issues (health care plan, Iraq war, immigration, job creation, etc.). In other words, these democrat voters beleive more over obama in her issues and abilities. She is also considered most electable as next president.

NoBama.

Janice, Edmonton, Alberta   December 3rd, 2007 6:37 pm ET

Now I've heard everything! If Obama's camp has the audacity to start a site like this, maybe he's in the wrong profession. All political camps look for weaknesses in oppponents. So I'm guessing that Obama's people will also be listing all of his mudslinging against Ms. Clinton on the same site? I mean fair is fair and he has been throwing it for a lot longer than she has.

The idea that she is only doing it because of weakened polls is ludicrous unless he and Edwards used the same excuse earlier in the campaign for resorting to the same tactics.

aj huntington ny   December 3rd, 2007 5:28 pm ET

Why waste time on being defensive ? This country needs leadership Senator O., not petty more infighting

Leo, VA   December 3rd, 2007 5:04 pm ET

Let me rephrase this because CNN has deleted my comment..

I've read the above part of Obama's campaign and was shocked by the use of the word 'VIGILANT', and the detailed instructions of how to 'notify' the Centre and identify 'attacks'. It sounds like 'there is a conspiracy around us and we have to be alert'. This is a bad move by Obama's campaign. Of course CNN didn't like that I also named examples when citizens were instilled in the past to become informants .. so I won't do this again. But I have to notice that the practice suggested by Obama's campaign poses danger to individual freedom.

Keith, Chicago   December 3rd, 2007 4:22 pm ET

Let's take a look at what all the Clinton supporters have to say:

Obama is a waste of time. I am so sick about how the cry baby cries about everything. This is what people look up to in a leader? A whiner. Please……. Obama isn't going to win. A true democrat knows that.

I would say about 9 out of 10 posts on the CNN Ticker that are in support of Clinton and bashing Obama do not even have the slightest big of substance/facts/logic involved. All of these posts are pretty much along the lines of "vote for Hillary – she's great! Don't vote for Obama – he's a loser!"

I don't think that's going to convince many people to vote for Clinton…

Must be nice to look at the world through Clinton-colored glasses. But LILLY, you've got it backwards. CLinton started the personal attacks with her 'naive' comments. Then 2 weeks later she said the same thing that she derided Obama for saying.
I'd say it's more of a shame that he needs a website to keep up with all of Hillary's attacks, especially when they are totally unfounded and unsubstantiated.
As for the crybaby part, it's been Bill and Hillary that have accused the others of piling on, ganging up, picking on her because she's a girl. If your 'girl' can't stand the heat, she needs to get out of the kitchen.
Poor little Hillary, she's only interested in making history on a personal level, she doesn't give a fig about you, me or 300 million other American people.

Dan, TX   December 3rd, 2007 3:29 pm ET

Obama has gone out of the way not to attack Clinton. For those of you who are now bald-faced lying and saying Obama has been attacking her, you are in such deep self-denial I feel sorry for you.

The philosophy that you have to be like the republicans to beat the republicans is one that I reject. Just as I reject Clinton.

You Clinton followers better get ready to either vote republican or support Barack Obama as your nominee. I thought Clinton was supposed to be tough and be a fighter? Is this all she's got. This is what her campaign leaked to Bob Novack and promised not to use? Add hypocrite to Clinton's resume. She didn't even follow Bill Clinton's advice. Bill Clinton was against the war from the beginning but she ignored his advice and voted for the war.

How is being being attacked, someone pointing out flaw in your platform is good politics…. you pointing saying he lied about something in kindergarten and accusing him of bribery is pure BS

Step Montgomery, AL   December 3rd, 2007 2:15 pm ET

I am so disturbed by some of the comments I'm reading here…have any of you honestly gone to Barack's site or listened to any speeches? How is he NOT honest? How is he dimeaning women (especially with the way he speaks about his wife and the active role she is taking in his campaign)?? How can you say he lacks knowledge or fresh ideas?? Hillary will say and do anything to be elected while Barack stays true to himself. He got into politics to try to better the coutry for everyone- not just Democrats.

"I have said for months that I would much rather be attacking Republicans, and attacking the problems of our country, because ultimately that's what I want to do as president," said Clinton.
-That's not the attitude needed to get ANYTHING done! The country is now evenly split between Republicans and Democrats, and she will not have a chance in hell of winning a general election saying stuff like that. Barack is a uniter, not a divider. He, most certainly above Hillary Clinton, finds the American peoples' welfare as his motivation- not just winning. He's not worried about making history for being the first black man elected President- he will make history by being the most progressive President since FDR! All Hillary learned from her time as First Lady is how to lie, not how to serve! Barack will…PLEASE, check out his stance on the issues important to you by going to http://www.barackobama.com and clicking on "Issues." Then select the issue most important to you. Don't just listen to what the media feeds you- empower yourselves with the knowledge to make an informed decision. I was really excited when Hillary annouced she'd be running for President- that is, until I took the time to examine her and the other candidates…And now I've made up my mind:

Hey now. I'm sure the Clinton's decision to move to New York instead of back to Arkansas had nothing to do with any presidential aspirations.

And clearly, anything you say in kindergarten should be fair game in a presidential campaign. Heaven forbid a 5 year old should say they want to be president.

Thank God we have a candidate who doesn't stoop to such deplorable tactics to score points.

Such crap is more appropriate to Republican campaigns, not Democrat.

After reading these comments, one thing finally becomes clear. Hillary supporters are too addicted to the Kool Aid to ever see through the Clintonb blinders and look at these candidates with an open and critical mind.
They continually accuse Obama (with no foundation in fact and no examples to back up their claims) of the things that Hillary does (documented, on tape and or video) such as flip-flopping, evasive answers, mudslinging, character attacks. These sheep will not change their vote, nor will they listen to reasoned, intelligent arguments if they're anti-Hillary.
I had thought to address several of them individually, but there are not enough hours in the day. I just give thanks that they will, in the end, prove to be a minority of American voters.

Tom, New York, NY   December 3rd, 2007 1:40 pm ET

Funny how the Obama supporters think it is such a great idea to spend their money (their contributions) on developing a website to keep track of the attacks on their candidate…. that is the politics of HOPE? of CHANGE? sounds like much the same old politics to me… and then when you go look at the website, it looks like a third rate site and also shows the facts that Hillary only began defending herself AFTER the "old" politics of attack began from Barama himself more than a month before they could come up with the first example of a Hillary "attack"…..go look it up… it is the facts…..facts do not lie… so keep posting them you guys… if you spend all your time on this, you will have no chance of convincing Americans you are the politics of hope and change….the message "WE DO NOT WANT THIS STUFF".. stop wasting our time and money on it

Jesse, Burnsville MN: "Although Republicans may not agree with Obama on many things (why would they afterall, they're Republicans), at least most of them don't hate him."

What better reason to vote a candidate for president? (sarcasm)

I'm someone who's neither an Obama nor Hilary supporter, but I feel the need to call Obama and his supporters out on this bad move–I think Obama is getting too darn defensive with this website thing. IF he's elected president, he will have more critics than just Hilary (it'll be on an international scale–heck he's already gotten some international criticism, and he isn't even president yet). Is he going to then come up with a website to address all of those critics as well? Why just a website against Hilary and not the other candidates? Could it be because she's the only threat to his campaign? Why waste the time responding to the words of competitors if they aren't true? Clearly Obama needs to grow a backbone–which is one of the reasons why I no longer support him.

What's funny is Obama supporters can say nothing more than "he's positive change for America", etc. Give me something substantial for crying outloud as to why I should use my vote on him–yet, no one seems able to. Way to be educated voters Obama fans. I guess it's easier to list all the reasons why you don't like other candidates than saying why you support Obama (exactly what you're chastising Hilary for).

And Obama, fyi: Actions speak louder than words.

Tim Williams, Muncie, IN   December 3rd, 2007 1:26 pm ET

Unfortunately Senator you lack the experience to lead this nation at this time. You are constantly talking about being the candidate of change however I would as what change is that? You are constantly spouting off ideals however what I and the American people want to hear is a plan, not 10 dollar words that would be better suited in a church sermon rather than a presidential debate. The biggest challenge America's next commander and chief is improving diplomatic relation around the world, and that is something that requires experience not only in the global arena but in the area of national security. And you Senator served in the Illinois State Senate and in the United States Senate for a little more that two years now. You need more experience at the national level. I am not saying you will never be ready to lead this nation but you aren't ready now. You have the charisma of a great leader but you lack the credential and it would be a grave mistake for America if we elected a charismatic speaker whose words, albeit very inspiring, were as empty as our current presidents brain!

How about a little faith and trust? Let us stop villifying people who are devoting their lives to public service. Let us look at their intentions. Let us discover the truth of their character for ourselves, not from the digestion of some cooked-up spoon-fed poison pablum.
Enough with the insults! How about we talk about who we want elected and why, and forget about insulting those we don't want elected?
Or we can keep trying to squeeze this country down the toilet by repeated flushing.

If Obama would much rather be attacking republicans, why isnt he doing it? This empty suit has to attack Hillary on what she says because he has nothing to say. Send this Bible banging, homophobic, lying, arrogant loser back to Ill. where he belongs. By some twist of fate, if he wins the nomination, I will vote republican for the FIRST time in my life.

Bea, Hoboken, NJ   December 3rd, 2007 1:11 pm ET

Leave it to a neophyte with a fan base of mostly college students to come up with such an infantile name for his site. He could have had a site similar to her "HillaryHub", but to call his "Hillaryattacks" is purely inflammatory. Lest the very junior senator forgets, he and Edwards went officially on the attack mode as of October 30th (even though Edwards had already been doing it for months). Did anyone think that Hillary was going to be rolled over by Obama, or any other candidate, without putting up a fight?

Politics of hope? Pleaaasssseeee!!!!!!

Donald Wayne Mannheim, Germany   December 3rd, 2007 1:10 pm ET

Senator Clinton needs to grow up and run on her own. The American people do not want to elect a person who whines about being picked on or who uses gender as a means of arguement. None of those things will help the United States in its foriegn policy issues. The comment made by the Senator stating that "she would rather be fighting Republicans", just goes to show how partisan she is and that partisanship, whether it be Rep. or Dem. is not good for our country. We need to go back to what we started from. United We Stand and Divided We Fall!

Bev, Sacramento, CA   December 3rd, 2007 1:03 pm ET

Yet another very desperate manuever by the very panicked Obama. Hillary is right, no one can get a straight answer our of this man because he is running on nothing. He attempts to copy Hillary and when he's caught (as in: "explain your position on drivers' licenses for illegal aliens", he stammers, gulps, and sweats. Such a simple, direct question and all Obama could do is bob and weave to try and justify his position. If, by some fluke, he should become the Dem. candidate, he will not be able to withstand the Rep. attack machine and will be torn to shreds.

Chris, Middletown, CT   December 3rd, 2007 12:58 pm ET

I love to read the Democrats responses – (paraphrasing) – "I want more of the entitlement programs – this free universal healthcare sounds great to me" – expensive healthcare is a symptom…lawyer suing insurance companies, drug companies, hospitals and doctors are the root cause – this socialist born healthcare solves none of that….what happened to the JFK Democrats – "ask not what your country can do for you" – are we now a nation of entitlement seeking morons? We are capitalists – not socialists….this rob from the rich garbage works in story books…well..and apparently in Hillarys campaign literature

Jesse, Burnsville, MN   December 3rd, 2007 12:56 pm ET

Wow, Clinton has her supporters hitting the blogs in full force today. HEY CLINTON SUPPORTERS, LISTEN UP! As a fellow Democrat, even I can see that Hillary is too polarizing. The partisan hatred and bitterness will continue with her in power. I, for one, am sick of it.

Not only would a Clinton nomination give Democrats a small chance to win the presidency, Republicans will come to the voting booths in droves to vote against her, and will vote against other local and national Democrats as well.

Democrats, before you decide to vote or caucus for Hillary in the primaries/caucuses, think about what a Clinton nomination would mean for the Democratic Party, which has made so many gains recently. IT WILL RUIN US!

Although Republicans may not agree with Obama on many things (why would they afterall, they're Republicans), at least most of them don't hate him.

Obama '08

AJ, IL   December 3rd, 2007 12:54 pm ET

Brilliant move by the Obama campaign! Utilizing new age technology in politics. Most of the political consultants know that the American public for the most part is too short-sided and lacks long-term memory when it comes to politics. Hillary and Bush are from the same old school of politics. They both need an adversary to be against to make them look good, and they both like to "fight". Obama and his campaign have to respond to accusations from anyone candidate or newsreporter swiftly and accurately. The lack of a quick response to accusations is part of the reason John Kerry got "swift boated" out of the Presidential race.

Hillary could have set up a website that tracks and responds to Hillary attackers (republican and/or democrat) but she was too slow and too re-assured that she would easily win the Democratic presidential nomination.

Hillary has to be careful with her stepped up attacks on Obama. It is a very sharp double-edged sword for her. She has too many negative past situations as well as too many "political" skeletons that remain in her closet. For instance, Hillary's campaign accuses Obama of wanting to be president while in kindergarden, while Hillary has planned to be President since 1994. Why else would a former first lady who has never ran for public office seek to run for NY senator at the last minute when she didn't even reside in New York prior to 1999? Also Hillary is on the Senate Armed Services Committee because she knew she needed some military experience and knowledge for her to make a legitimate run at the US Presidency.

Sherm Kader, Ruston, La   December 3rd, 2007 12:37 pm ET

OBAMA NEVER FLIP-FLOPS!!! Once he tells all those lies, he sticks with them. He is not shy about them. He tells them again and again.

Liberal Chic   December 3rd, 2007 12:36 pm ET

Go Hillary! She just needs to beat Obama in Iowa by the slightest of margins or even be defeated by the same. Then she can go on and kick hiney in New Hampshire and elsewhere and be done.

These amateur attempts at snarling against the front runner is pretty pathetic. What happened to positive campainging? It didn't work, did it? Obama, like all the other politicians, has to be a little bit hateful and a little bit backstabbing. I hope we don't find out how lame he is (the hard way) after the pollyannas vote him into office.

Clinton's almost there. I am not a praying kind of girl, but all you Hillary campers, let's do!

Jimenez - Texas   December 3rd, 2007 12:24 pm ET

Megha, San Antonio – I love reading your comments! We SUPPORT CLINTON! It is a given that most positive comments from Obama's staff. That's all he's got.

Bruce, harpers Ferry, WV   December 3rd, 2007 12:19 pm ET

It just goes to show you that the Republicans will win this election because neither Obama or Clinton are good enough to be in the White House.

Rose Hillrose, Chicago, IL   December 3rd, 2007 12:14 pm ET

Obsama's supporters in Iowa will be hit by a Clinton victory asteroid none of them will be conscious to know what struck them.

JC, Topeka, Kansas   December 3rd, 2007 12:12 pm ET

Obama and Edwards started slinging the mud and now they are crying about dirty politics. If you can not stand the heat don't go in the kitchen boys, this is just the primaries. If it bothering you now, you would not survive the general election and you might as well drop out now.

DARRIN, COLUMBUS OH   December 3rd, 2007 12:09 pm ET

INSTEAD OF PARTICIPATING IN A JUVENILE "PLAYGROUND" WAR BETWEEN THE OBAMA AND CLINTON CAMPAIGNS, WHY DON'T YOU FEEBLE-MINDED ADOLESCENTS LEARN THAT YOU ARE DOING EXACTLY WHAT FAT-BOY ROVE AND THE REST OF THE REPUBLICANS WANT YOU TO DO? THE IMPORTANT THING HERE IS TO GET THE GOP AND THEIR NARROW-MINDED, OUTDATED POLITICS OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE FOR GOOD. THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN OBAMA AND CLINTON ARE MINISCULE COMPARED TO THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WHAT IS RIGHT FOR OUR COUNTRY AND THE GOP AGENDA.

Mark, Burlington Vt   December 3rd, 2007 12:05 pm ET

If you want to see how desperate Clinton has gotten read this story. It's hillarious (and if you have time read some of the 1200+ comments too).

This is tactless and a mistake. They are going to pull each other down. Hey maybe that is not a bad thing. Then candidates like Biden, who deserve to be noticed, will get a chance to be heard! Go at it you two!

Nando, Palm Coast,FL   December 3rd, 2007 11:59 am ET

Wow! Hillary is being shoeed like the fly she is.

psssssss thats the sound of Hillary!!

And OBAMA is the can of RAID!!!!!!!!

Susan, Los Angeles, CA   December 3rd, 2007 11:54 am ET

Another unpleasant, purely catty response from the Clinton camp. Although politics as usual seems to be what she's really about, I keep hoping she'll show some real character. Come on, Hillary.

Holly, Chicago, Il   December 3rd, 2007 11:49 am ET

HRC should give it now…Obama is our next president!

John Karsten, Virginia Beach, VA   December 3rd, 2007 11:44 am ET

I do not understand. Why does everyone think HRC has experience, maybe first lady experience, but not political experience. Really, how does one claim experience when she has never really did anything in public office until her election in NY. Just because you are screwing the president, does not mean you have experience. For you HRC types who keep telling me to vote for her because he Obama)can not beat the GOP, keep holding your breath, he has my vote and no one else. PEACE OUT!

thevoter   December 3rd, 2007 11:44 am ET

Let me get this straight.

Hillary has a website designed specifically for rapid respond to attacks against her campaign while all the other candidates have web sites specifically designed for rapid response to attacks from Hillary.

Whose the most corrupt??

jack,charlestown,S.c   December 3rd, 2007 11:40 am ET

Good for him. Let her be poll driven. Keep focused will keep an eye on these attacks. Tell the Iowans what they need to hear not what they want to hear. She doesn't have a single thing she is telling the truth on. Me and my family have your Back. Keep the faith!

dmw.roeland park, ks   December 3rd, 2007 11:35 am ET

Obama is a baby! He is reaping what he sowed. He started the attacks. He has been attacking Hillary for months now and when she starts to attack back, he wants to whine…he's a cry baby.

And his followers are insane because they are not reasonable. They are a bunch of mean-spirited people and attack Hillary as well through all of the blogs and when their candidate is attacked back, then they complain about Hillary. What a joke!

anon New York, NY   December 3rd, 2007 11:32 am ET

Hillary Clinton can't win. She is too polarizing. If any of you Clinton supporters don't know what "polarizing" means, just look it up in the dictionary.

As any political scientist professor in America, and they will confirm that she is polarizing.

She has weak poll numbers among crucial independent voters.

Her husband has proven to be reckless-having a long affair with an intern in the Oval Office while being sued for sexual harrassment. He's been caught lying several times, most recently last week regarding the Iraq war. He could drag her down in the general election.

She has long been referred to as "scripted" and "calculating." This was confirmed by her campaign planting a question. The campaign even took a poll about whether they should accept Barbara Streisand's endorsement.

She motivates Republicans like no one else can. She's often featured in GOP commercials, a strategy that has proven to be beneficial to the GOP.

She could very well cause Democrats running for Congress in the South to lose, creating a Republican Congress.

Our country needs to move on past the Clintons.

Corey, Bloomington IN   December 3rd, 2007 11:31 am ET

"I'd much rather be attacking Republicans."

And there's actually an argument about who can bring this country back together?

Obama 08

Ryan   December 3rd, 2007 11:31 am ET

Good to see him defending himself, because the Clintonites will just keep spewing utter crap until something sticks in the minds of Americans, factual or not. They certainly can't win voters over on her merits or her electability. Look at how badly the Republicans want to get her the nomination!

Independent in IA   December 3rd, 2007 11:29 am ET

I'm quite sure the 'Some could even be anonymous or designed to be' refers to plants by you own campaign, Osama, to try to make those ignorant enough to support you to feel badly for you…it won't work, Crybaby, the rest of us are to freaking smart for you.

Dan Seattle, WA   December 3rd, 2007 11:26 am ET

I love it. Hillary needs to be called out again and again and again for her disastrous votes on Iraq and Iran.

It's her judgment that is in question. Why is that so hard to understand for Hillary supporters?

Surrealist, Fort Myers, FL   December 3rd, 2007 11:23 am ET

For Gods sake be a man!!! This is a waste of your supporters hard earned cash. What a wimp!! Keep it up–you won't get anybodies vote.

Jim in Orlando, FL   December 3rd, 2007 11:19 am ET

I hope Obama shines a light in every corner that the Clintonistas attempt to hide in and sling mud from. So Clinton aide Howard Wolfson says "there's a lot that voters don't know about Barack Obama". Sounds to me like Robert Novak knew EXACTLY what he was talking about a couple of weeks back ! Better than that, if the Hillary camp DIDN'T actually know something, they would spin or invent something just the same.

Tamika Harlem, NY   December 3rd, 2007 11:13 am ET

Obama have been attacking Hillary for months and months. I'm surprise it took Hillary a long time to respond to his smear tactics.

Obama projecting his self as President for Change, copied his campaign from Karl Rove; he doesn't have a track record, he has nothing to show why the American people must vote for him. This is the man whose hand resting on his crotch while singing the national anthem. This is the man who said in his speech at Apollo Theatre if he is the President, he will create a Federal Commission for the unfair treatment of blacks; and he's calling his self a "uniter"? Something is greatly amiss her.

I'm black, proud of my race, but I'll not vote for this man who has the notion being black is good enough to elect him as President.

Oprah should be ashame of herself supporting Obama, he demeans women.

Fool the white folks brother, ya ain't foolin' me.

Lindsay Gainesville, FL   December 3rd, 2007 11:12 am ET

Hillary Clinton flip flops like mad! First, she said she would not engage in a negative smear campaign, but now she realizes that she is losing in Iowa, so she starts slinging mud. Pathetic!

My vote goes to Barack Obama.

Eyong Ebot,Gainesville,GA   December 3rd, 2007 11:07 am ET

Does obama character with bill clinton character matchup?if the do,where is the do they?if they don't, where is the difference.Hillary just clean your house and stay put.

Tony, Enterprise, Alabama   December 3rd, 2007 11:06 am ET

Is this a joke?

Senator Obama and former Senator Edwards have been bathing in the slime of a negative campaign for months. Neither of them have been selling themselves, but have been deriding Senator Clinton instead, as the easiest way to the nomination.

Now Senator Obama wants to "track Hillary's negative attacks"? This man has absolutely zero integrity, and even less experience.

I am a solid Democrat, and fully intended to vote for the nominee no matter who they were to keep the Republicans from the White House.

Now, if Senator Obama or Senator Edwards get the nomination I will be looking for a third party.

A slime saying he's been slimed, what a joke!

Tevin, Raleigh, NC   December 3rd, 2007 11:02 am ET

Hillary is rattled! I love it! She's so untrustworthy and full of crap! She's unelectable and she knows it!

AJ; Montpelier, VT   December 3rd, 2007 10:59 am ET

Oh please, how could you get a straight answer from Obama when he doesnt have the slightest idea what he is talking about. As for his website with Hilarys attacks against him, well, whaaaaaa. I suppose he will start to accuse him of being racist next.

Megha, San Antonio, TX   December 3rd, 2007 10:58 am ET

First, this the third time Hillary is directly involved in a winning Presidential Campaign, so please all of you who think she's getting nervous need to re-think coz it's obvious, after doing it the third time around, you'd know better about not getting nervous coz of biased polls. Esp. since we know Bill Clinton won even after losing Iowa and NH.
Second, Obama has Oprah to his support. This is the same woman who said American kids are too arrogant and went to spend 45 mil in South Africa, despite knowing that American education system is in dire need of attention, reform and money. It surprized me, what an American spirit. I am sure Obama would be more than happy to spend money in Indonesia and Kenya, instead of here in America.
Third, Obama supporters who call the Clintons attack-crazy need to go check out facts. Larry Craig was one of the most outspken critics of Bill after the sex scandal, but Bill when asked on Larry King Live, had nothing bad to say about him. Then, Bill was very respectful and non-negative about Ken Starr who literally chewed Bill.

So please people, let's make this a more informed blog than misled attack book on Clintons.

Hillarylover in SA   December 3rd, 2007 10:58 am ET

If anyone is desparate it is Obama and his staffers. He is minor league compared to Clinton. WE ALL KNOW IT! And, my God – Mr. Honesty/Obama – give us a break the dude is a loser. He should go back to his high school days…………….

Seam, Philly PA   December 3rd, 2007 10:48 am ET

Funny how Hillary accuses Obama for not giving a straight answer on healthcare; yet, one cannot get a single straight answer from Hillary on any subject matter. She's pathetic.

Tim, Atlanta GA   December 3rd, 2007 10:48 am ET

This would be a much better news report if they actually told you what the web site is!

roger, conway sc   December 3rd, 2007 10:47 am ET

I will not vote for Obama you Clinton critics say she is sneaky and untrustworthy you just wait and see if this man is the next president, this nation will be in worse shape than it is now with the GW regeime…

Roy, Merrimack, NH   December 3rd, 2007 10:47 am ET

Clinton has even attacked Obama for writing in kindergarten that he wanted to be President. (Seriously…look it up)

Desperation, thy name is Hillary.

Nita - SA - TX   December 3rd, 2007 10:46 am ET

Clinton is panicking about the polls. Wake up she knows she is on top. It is Obama who is afraid. The more he opens his mouth the dumber he sounds. The guy isn't what america needs. I don't care what color this man is – he and his "fresh" stolen ideas have to go.

Bee   December 3rd, 2007 10:45 am ET

The clinton campaign is so desperate and will do anything to remain in power. Clinton cannot be trusted.

Jimenez - Texas   December 3rd, 2007 10:44 am ET

Obama is a waste of time. I am so sick about how the cry baby cries about everything. This is what people look up to in a leader? A whiner. Please……. Obama isn't going to win. A true democrat knows that.

Sean, Detroit, MI   December 3rd, 2007 10:42 am ET

this is such a great idea on Obama's part. He's not going to stand for the type of baseless attacks and sabatoge attempts which are characteristic of Clinton politics.

Hillary Clinton, your ship is sinking. We're tired of the same old dirty politics.

Stephen   December 3rd, 2007 10:41 am ET

Clinton 08:Saying anything to get elected

Clinton needs to take a look at her own character before she comments on anyone else.

Obama's got Hilldog on the ropes, waiting for the finishing move.

Go Obama!

Hussein Osama, syracuse, ny   December 3rd, 2007 10:40 am ET

Hey Borat,
Those attacks are correct. They (e.g., your health plan is not universal) represent your lies. You need to tell people why they are not true, instead of denying.

NObama 08!

Don, TX   December 3rd, 2007 10:40 am ET

She actually referred to attacking fellow democrats as "the FUN part"?! After she REPEATEDLY declares that she's not interesting in attacking fellow democrats two weeks ago?

Wow. Dirty flip-flop alert… should we trust someone who thinks ATTACKING democrats is a FUN game?

RICH,NY   December 3rd, 2007 10:38 am ET

IF SHE WAS NOT WORRIED ABOUT OBAMA SHE WOULD NOT HAVE ANYTHING NEGATIVE TO SAY ABOUT HIM! LIKE IN THE BEGINING OF HER CAMPAIGN THERE WAS NOTHING COMING FROM THE CLINTON CAMP! THIS JUST SHOWS AMERICA PEOPLE WILL DO ANYTHING TO WIN!

Claude, Mesa AZ   December 3rd, 2007 10:33 am ET

Obama, this is brilliant! You are continually 10 steps ahead of the Clinton camapaign.

Dalton, Detroit, MI   December 3rd, 2007 10:33 am ET

I think Hillary Clinton is the last person in the world who should be attacking someone for not giving straight answers or for havinmg presidential ambitions.

Hillary Clinton has been seeking the presidency since she was first lady of Arkansas and I think everyone realizes that her time in the senate was just a stop gap as she prepared to run for president.

As for honest answers to tough questions Hillary Clinton is the master of the evasive non answer. She has refused to talk about how she would maintain social security or any of hr other policy initiatives.

Hillary needs better people around her because whomever is advising her on attack strategy need to recognize that everything she accuses Obama of she has been caught engaging in herself.

Vince Foster   December 3rd, 2007 10:27 am ET

Go get her, Barach!
