I have boycotted Oprah Winfrey since she decided race was more important than
supporting women (what a hippocrite she turned out to be). But, I understand
she and Barack go to the same black separatist church so what else can
we expect?
The BEST Candidate is Hillary Clinton--Experienced, Agent of Change,
INTELLIGENT, and wants to help our country. A vote for Hillary is a
RESPONSIBLE VOTE, not a frivolous vote for an inexperienced, wet behind
the ears Freshman Senator who has no background to run for this country's
top office with or without Oprah Winfrey's money!!!

Posted By A Sad Woman, somewhere in America : December 5, 2007 3:45 pm

You are what you profess you are "Sad woman".

I respect Oprah for her lifes work and for her charitable endeavours.

Don't care who she endorses, but you Clintonista's should be real worried, as Oprah can bring them in and they WILL VOTE.

Chris from CT, I like yourself, can appreciate why people would like Obama and I lean a little more right than you.

The world would not end if he became President over who I am supporting, but it could if we put another Clinton in office.

We remember the first Clinton administration's agenda, GUT THE MILITARY, ignore ALL the bombings and they will go away and everyone "will love us".......

Not again.

I was very disappointed to learn that the first venue was sold out! What a great move to go to Williams -Brice Stadium. I'll be there.

Aren't we all tired of the Bush-Clinton dynasty.
We've had either a Bush or a Clinton in office for the last TWENTY years.
Enough is enough.
Time for some new blood.

In September 2004, Sen. Obama suggested to the Chicago Tribune editorial board that he would use surgical missile strikes against Iran:
[T]he United States should not rule out military strikes to destroy nuclear production sites in Iran, Obama said. 'The big question is going to be, if Iran is resistant to these pressures, including economic sanctions, which I hope will be imposed if they do not cooperate, at what point are we going to, if any, are we going to take military action?" Obama asked. Given the continuing war in Iraq, the United States is not in a position to invade Iran, but missile strikes might be a viable option, he said.

Obama does need all the help he can get. He is not the best candidate and earlier this year he told us that he would not run for President. He was talked into by people like Oprah.

I know lots of people will be there to see Oprah and not Obama. Once they hear him speak, which has been boring and dry from the speeches I've seen on C-SPAN, etal, the South Carolina folks will then make their choice.

I hope they fill that 80,000 seat stadium, otherwise, they will look foolish. Obama is not all that and listening to him speak once again about HOPE which is boring and without any policy-wise ideas other than the ones he took from Hillary, Biden, Richardson, Dodd and Edwards, Oprah will be the only good thing for this event. And I am sure he will take a few digs at Hillary for good measure.

I don't care if Oprah and Obama have the whole football stadium filled up. I still wouldn't vote for Barack Obama. My reason has nothing to do with his race, but it has to do with the fact that he is not ready to be the next president. He's only been in the U.S. senate for 3 years. His 3 years of service to the senate does not qualify him for the presidency. The person I'm voting for is Hillary Clinton. I'm not voting for her because she's a woman. I'm voting for her because I know that she is ready to lead our country and she will get us out of our current situation.

GO HILLARY!!!!!!!!

Dear "A Sad Woman"
Sorry you sad that Oprah has (according to you) betrayed women by supporting a man for election.
Since when is this a battle of the sexes? It's for the best candidate and their views for America, not what gender they are!!
People are coming to see where all the underhanded tricks, nasty innuendos, lies about candidates, cheating, planted questions at rallies, smear campaigns are coming from. HILLARY.
She's going down fast in the polls, and her presidential aspirations and going down the drain because of this. It's not about gender.
People don't like Hillary, but they like Obama. And that's why He's going to win.

The big problem is people would believe Oprah will be better president than Obama, he is so weak to stand with her. Oprah can say whaever she wants, by the end of the day, people have to ask themselves do I trust Obama ? Even Oprah's records are stronger than Obama's. How can this guy face Reps ? By then, no one wants to hear speech any more.

Kyle G:

I have heard what Obama passes for a message - there is no message. He spouts change and hope but has yet to tell us how he would go about doing it. When he discussed specifics, they usually mirror plans that have previously been announce by others. Every time he opens his mouth about foreign policy, stupid comes out. And then you have his Bible banging. Havent we as a nation had enough of that? That Oprah is supporting him is not surprising. She is probably the most racist woman in America. She'd back Idi Amin if he were the one running (and not dead.) It's all about being black with her. He is not the most qualified. He is just another Bush like empty suit.

People are coming to see Oprah, just like a train wreck, you stop, look, and keep going, doesn’t mean they will vote for obama? The saddest part of this is that Oprah is using her TV viewers that supported her show because she has praised herself as being opposed race bias and especially gender discrimination, NOW LOOK AT HER, completely the opposite. We are witnessing the true Oprah Winphrey. I can tell you as a previous black woman and faithful oprah viewer, I will no longer be interested in anything that is connected to oprah... She just put women back 50 years and black women back 100 years! PLEASE Wise up IOWA /NH ladies! This is about the safety and security for ALL our children, their education and most importantly their health care. Shame on you Oprah for selling out your supporters...We adored who we thought you were

Rose Hillrose, Chicago, IL, don't worry, people are smart, they watch free show and will vote Hillary Clinton. I don't blame Obama, he is a empty suit, he has to grab someone to help him like black, passing rich, glamoous body(picture on politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com) and has the biggest mouth in this country, but voters are smarter than Obama and Oprah. Obama will learn soon.

I find it funny that nobody talks about Chuck Norris being in the front row of the CNN/Youtube debate or using his mythical powers to raise Hukabee's profile.

Now, besides saying she supports Baracka, has Oprah talked about politics? Has she persuaded the weak-minded to turn to Obama? Has she told her legions of fans not to vote Clinto or Edwards?

Then why are people complaining. Just to go to the rally and see what is happening...

This comment is a response to A Sad Woman. I would think that you for one are firstly, not a woman, seeing how childish you can be with one sided opinions and nonsensical logic. Firstly, how can you possibly dismiss Oprah's credibility in what she says just because she supports a male candidate? Does that mean that she has to go to bakeries started by females, wear clothes sewn by females, buy cars made by females? And even then, does it also mean that we are going to pardon Hilary, if she hypothetically speaking, committed murder, all because she's a woman. That, sad woman, is sadly sexism which you have ironically, contradicted yourself against. And secondly, you are truly sad, why so? Simply because of your own sad and pathetic attempts at ruining Oprah's vision and reputation. Lastly, Oprah, as a black woman, supports her own race too, and aims to empower them, just as how she aims to empower women. So does this also mean that she can pick Obama over Hilary just because of gender alone? And does this also mean you are a proud female rights advocate, but a racist? Grow up woman. And with all respect to Mrs Clinton, I wish both candidates the best in their campaigns.

Who's running here: Oprah or Obama? Are the American people so willing to compromise who our most qualified candidate for the American Presidency truly is (Hillary) simply based on celebrity endorsement? I urge my American compatriots to consider who they support and vote for in '08, and weigh not who is endorsing our candidates, but more importantly their positions, experience, and true loyalty, not just to this country, but to every individual who is blessed to live in this nation.

I have news for all of us outspoken bloggers.
We are not the majority of the voters. The people at the football stadium are not the majority of the voters. The people who answer the polls are not the majority of the voters.
I have never been asked to participate in a poll. Hmmm....It kind of makes you wonder if the polls are just another way to get attention and hype.
We are the outspoken and we are the few.
The silent are the majority and they will speak at the polls.
They don't read blogs, they don't listen to polls.
Thank goodness we have the silent majority to help balance out us outspoken bloggers. I admit....I am one of you....:)
Good for Bill Clinton for admonishing the press for being out of control, because as he said, their hype or polls or both has (ve) a half life of what...15 seconds?
Go Hillary!

The right thing for Oprah is to endorse someone who is a democrat nominee. Whether it be Obama, Hillary, or Biden. This is absurd! What if Hillary is nominated inspite of her push? Then what kind of face Oprah has to endorse Hillary in general election? Or, is she going to endorse Guliani then?

She is not just going with the party but with the best candidate that she sees.

If you want to use your vote wisely then vote for a candidate and not the party

A friend and I posted twice on here and get a comment on this board. Come on CNN.
-----
This is a great thing that a candidate is generating so much excitement about the process. Be glad that we're seeing this. This is a great thing for our country regardless if you are a supporter of Obama's.

As for the America will not elect a black man remark. I think you're wrong. Most of the individuals who wouldn't vote for that reason, wouldn't vote for Hillary either.

Obama has a good chance. So America is wide open to voting for women too huh? Since there have been so many women presidents… Just vote and don't worry about that nonsense.

Quietly, there is a movement brewing that truly understands why we need a change. Obama has the same chance as Hillary (a polarizing candidate), if not a better chance of getting elected.

Im surprised at Oprah choosing her race over gender in which way to lean. Everyone knows there aren't any solid policy differences between Obama and Clinton.

America will not elect a black man president and Democrats will lose the White House again if he gets the nomination.

Oprah is interesting as Oprah, but as any celebrity endorsement, she is irrelevant and meaningless.

The kind of people who need to wait to be influenced by some big name probably shouldn't be voting anyway.

Why do people trust Oprah? I don't trust anyone who doesn't have a good relationship with their father. I also don't like that she brought Mr. Frey on TV to make herself look good. And I don't trust anyone who thinks it's no big deal that the candidate she endorses won't wear an American flag pin or put his hand over his heart.

I really don't know anyone at my office, my church, or in my family that doesn't despise Hillary Clinton. I'm sure that there will be massive rallies for her republican opponent that will require football stadiums as well. If I were democratic, I'd seriously consider Obama or Richardson... I really cannot see that Hillary is electable, no matter where she claims to be from that week - NY, Arkansas, Chicago, etc.

Good luck to the Dems, should be fun with Oprah in the mix. I'm 99% sure CNN will limit their coverage of Oprah/Obama since it is the Clinton News Network after all...

Folks lets not get excited about Oprah campaigning for Obama. Remember Oprah is not the candidate. Personally I think Oprah should stick to her talk show and stay out of politics. Oprah in my opinion has crossed the line by supporting a candidate.

Still waiting to hear what Barack Obama has done successfully in Illinois in order to earn the office of President. I don't see anything as impressive as Rudy Guiliani getting 600,000 people off the welfare rolls and cutting crime 5o% in NYC or Mitt Romney's business smarts in turning around the bankrupt Olympics into a financial success.

O, Lordy? I am just sick with worry that people will be sheep enough to vote for Obama because Oprah says so. I just hope they are going to see Oprah, because it is a free show. I am afraid of what the US will become with Obama as president. However, I don't think we will have to worry about him being president. If he wins the demo. election, it will be another 4 or 8 years of the Republicans, as Obama can't win against them. He just doesn't have the experience.
We need Hillary, and we need her bad. I just hope enough people have enough sense to not let Oprah sway their vote. Oprah isn't any smarter about politics than any of the rest of us, and I have to say, I think she really DOES want Obama because he is black. America is not ready for a black president. Hopefully this monkey & pony show will be just that--free entertainment.

I never even heard of Barack Obama until there was a rumor going around about voting for Oprah Winfrey for President about a year ago and when she was asked about it,she replied, I would not run for President but I'll tell you who I'd vote for or support, Barack Obama. I can't believe now a year later she is going on the Presidencial trail with him. My question is, Is she using her status of who she is to get him elected. You have to admit that she has a following.

After Oprah, Barack will have a tough act to follow and really big shoes to fill. Bet Barack could not half fill that stadium on his own. So who is everyone coming to see? His support is weak and support is not solid.

I think it is hilarious that people are posting that "everybody is going to see Oprah, not Obama" or "Obama couldn't fill a Burger King."

Obviously you haven't been paying attention. Obama has regularly made appearances all across the country where he has had crowds consistently in the thousands, even up over 20,000, on his own!

I'VE BEEN SAYING THIS ALL ALONG AND I DONT CARE WHO WANTS TO DISAGREE BUT BARACK IS GOING TO WIN BOTH IOWA AND SOUTH CAROLINA BY SURPRISING NUMBERS. Everyone who talks bad about him that has never once SEEN him for yourself PLEASE for God shake stop it and take a look at this man. Don't listen to what your friends are saying that has never heard him, his stances or positions on key issues that affect our country.

Do this for yourself and quit bashing Barack, Oprah or our political process. If Oprah would've endorsed Hillary just cause she was a women what point would that have made? Oprah is to smart for that she endorsed Barack because of his message and we all need to hear it FIRST and then make an EDUCATED CHOICE........ I LOVE ALL YALL FOR OR AGAISNT BARACK BUT HEAR HIM MESSAGE THEN JUDGE

I wouldn't mind if Oprah endorsed Obama if she had a history of endorsing Democratic candidates, but I find her epiphany disingenuous. We'll see if her inmense popularity translates into votes for Obama.

Oprah's endorsement as a celebrity is meaningless. Her endoresement as a humanitarian, leader, empowered minority person, and voice of reason is unparallelled.

This is also a wonderful opportunity for Obama to reach thousands of voters who haven't been following his campaign closely.
