The woman who threw a wrench into Bill Clinton's 1992 presidential bid may vote for Hillary.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The one-time other woman in Hillary Clinton's life says she's considering casting her vote for the former first lady.

"I can't help but want to support my own gender, and she's as experienced as any of the others — except maybe Joe Biden," Gennifer Flowers said in a recent telephone interview from her home in Las Vegas.

Flowers said she is still undecided, supports abortion rights and has long wanted to see a woman in the White House.

"I would love to see a woman president, I just didn't think it would be her," Flowers said.

In the 1992 presidential race, the former television reporter claimed to have had a 12-year affair with then-candidate and Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton. Clinton initially denied the allegation, but later, during his deposition in the Paula Jones sexual harassment case, acknowledged a single sexual encounter with Flowers.

Today the media frenzy, the book tour and the Penthouse shoot is behind her. The defamation suit she once filed against Hillary Clinton was dismissed. The 57-year-old lounge singer says she plans to stay far away from presidential politics.

"I don't have any interest whatsoever in getting back out there and bashing Hillary Clinton," Flowers said.

That's not to say she isn't watching the race closely. Democratic Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware, she said, is "smart, sexy and experienced." She liked Clinton's response to a question about immigration at a recent debate in Las Vegas ("I like the way she was so definite about it, the others are trying to play to the middle.")

Mitt Romney is also on the short list, though in general "the GOP has yet to start impressing me," said Flowers, a registered nonpartisan who has recently voted Republican.

Flowers moved to Las Vegas about a year ago, after years of singing at a cabaret club in New Orleans. Hurricane Katrina wrecked her home and her marriage, she said. Sin City offered her a chance to perform in Bottom's Up, a variety show at a casino in downtown Las Vegas.

Vote for Hillary so we can re live all these nightmares again and again and again …..
Give Bill some new interns .. a few more scandals … more money laundering .. a couple puffs off that joint he didn't inhale and the country will just be fine ….

ron, houston, tx   December 8th, 2007 11:59 am ET

What does it say about Hillary's judgment that she married a person with questionable personal characteristics. Every time Bill was given the opportunity to cheat or lie about cheating, he took full advantage. That speaks loudly to Hillary's ability to make sound judgments. What type of self-esteem belongs to a person who stays with a constantly cheating man. Seems to be someone whose emotions play a bigger role than logic. Just what america needs, an over-emotional person who can't recognize and display good judgement.

This is one of many many news stories on the CNN website…why bash CNN for reporting about , yet you obviously took the time to read it and post a comment about it. If you don't like this particular story so what , choose another and move on. Sometimes I think alot of posters are desperate Faux news network plants looking for a way to smear a legitamite news outlet like CNN.

GO HILLARY!!!!

Janel, St. Paul, MN   December 8th, 2007 1:18 am ET

This is ridiculous coverage. . .that only underlines the pathetic history of Bill Clinton as president.

Although not one of her supporters, I feel sorry for her.

Jose Card   December 7th, 2007 10:58 pm ET

The United States of America Constitution badly needs an amendment to set term limits to the same married couple to two terms.

Any couple that has spent more than 8 years in the White House will mistake WH as their permanent home.

Our forefathers did not foresee the coming of women voting rights so they did not set a term limits to a couple for presidency.

Power can corrupt people so we need term limits to couples as well as individuals.

CNN is entertaining, but you can still find substance in average Joe's comments. If Hillary is elected, we definitely don't want Bill to be the WH Intern adviser.

Bill is a disgrace to our Oval Office. He also did too much damage to our national security during his administration. Would you want more of it?

Joe   December 7th, 2007 6:05 pm ET

cnn is still the clinton news network…this doesn't even compare to the attacks on Obama. They do this by trying to make Hillary seem inevitable by constantly referring to national polls while knowing that national polls are meaningless at this point. Obama leads by 6 points in two new polls in iowa and and shrunk the lead tremendously in new hampshire. I dont remember the last time cnn showed iowa polls. Knowing full well john kerry was in a worse position nationally than barack is now.

Wow, this is a low blow CNN!!!!!! And just in time to coincide with that awful LA Times piece. The media is doing everything possible to ensure that Hillary won't become president. I think this is probably one the most disgusting pieces of journalism I've seen in a while because you can blatantly see what the motives are behind it. In your attempts to distort perceptions, you people are getting more bold every day.

She would have to create some morals before she could delete them, because there aren't any now. So if it means so much to you for the government to have morals, why haven't you left the country already?

RGRD, Lansing, MI   December 7th, 2007 4:27 pm ET

If Hiliary wins will move out of USA because morals have been deleted out of our government and country. Hiliary was President for years. She wasn't a resident of NY until some Democrat sdvisors said so. She didn't divorce her husband even though he disgraced the peoples' house. She has had her term limit already.

George, San Angelo, TX   December 7th, 2007 4:07 pm ET

What a ridiculous and cheap story line. You need to get off of Bill Clinton and refocus your reporting to the war criminals we have in the top two positions of our government.

What next, are you going to do a news break to talk about what Oboma's wife said to her ex-boyfriend from when she was in college?

I expected more from you.

First-

To Ernie in Truro

You say Dems don't bring this sort of stuff up, but obviously Republicans do.

What about Rudy? Dems have been blasting him for his family issues.

The other Clinton fans refer to Clinton's "indesrections". Since when did accusations of sexual harrassment and rape equal indiscretions? That is what he has been accused of, and settled out of court for. It is one thing to cheat(and not a good thing), it is COMPLETELY ANOTHER to SEXUALLY HARASS and RAPE.

I am sure if your daughter was sexual harassed you wouldn't refer to it as an "indiscretion"

Tom-NM

It's one thing to flirt, it is another to cheat, sexually harass and rape. Better human beings don't do any of these things!!!

STOP MAKING EXCUSES FOR A TERRIBLE HUMAN BEING!!!

I agree 100%, it seems the media has no desire to prevent the next mentally disturbed person from becoming "famous".

Jim - Tucson   December 7th, 2007 3:25 pm ET

I would agree that Bill Clinton was one of the best presidents we've had. I don't believe that someone would not be distracted at work if they suspected/knew their spouse was cheating on them, not to mention the sleepless nights.

Since politicians are known for telling you what you want to hear we can only judge them on two things, voting record and their personal lives. Hillary has a poor record for both. As for my wife divorcing me, I don't think it's going to happen any time soon, as we've been married for nearly 15 years. I've always have been faithful to her and assume she has done the same. Yes there is always temptation for both of us, as we are professionals that work for different companies that sometimes require extensive travel. We're probably not as handsome/pretty as we used to be but beauty is only skin deep.

As for divorce being a personal matter - I don't think so as it is public record. I don't fear divorce as much as I fear that one day one of us will pass on leaving the other alone after all those years.

Yes…let's give the mentally sick teenager who killed a bunch of innocent people at a Mall exactly what he wanted, which is to be all over the news. What is the point of showing photographs of him with his gun walking in. Report the facts without glamorizing a cold blooded murder. The families deserve more respect than CNN's glorification of this killer.

Obama is in a real dilemma if he DOES NOT win the nomination: a) Hilary will pick him as VP and that would be hard to turn down! Should that happen they will win the presidency and it will be because of Obama not Hillary. If he loses and he is not the VP and he runs as an independent and the nomination goes to the republicans he will kick himself to…. please comment on this

I wish all my fellow female voters were this positive about supporting a very qualified female candidate for President - we would have had one a long time ago!

Posted By Christina P, San Francisco, CA : December 7, 2007 2:09 pm

Well, Christina, I'm actually a male voter who would have no qualms about voting for a qualified female candidate for President…If there was one. Hillary is not, the closest we have ever come was Elizabeth Dole's brief foray back in, I believe, 2000.
Now she was a qualified candidate, held 2 different Cabinet positions, headed up the American Red Cross for several years, that's experience; Hillary's not fit to carry her shoes.

Eric, NY, NY   December 7th, 2007 2:53 pm ET

Who cares? Is this the best CNN can do? No wonder Clinton is having problems communicating here policies and stances.

chris, newport beach, ca   December 7th, 2007 2:49 pm ET

Using gender as a basis for qualification of who to vote for must be one of the most pointless reasons for casting a final vote. I don't think you should vote for Hillary just because she's a woman, just as much as I don't think you should vote for Obama because he's a guy.

I'm suprised I haven't seen more comments like this. If this is a breakthrough for female candidates, let it be based on their positions on the issues and their ideas, not their gender or sex.

Laura Tulsa OK   December 7th, 2007 2:44 pm ET

Anyone can vote for whomever they think is qualified, but isn't it discriminatory to say "I just want a woman to be elected" ? If you're interviewing someone for a job, do you say, "well, we want a man for this job" or "we want a woman for this job" — if it's a job that can be done by either?

LoLo Bouloute   December 7th, 2007 2:42 pm ET

Gary Penley   December 7th, 2007 2:39 pm ET

Gee, if all of Bill's ex-screwees supported Hillary, she would command quite a block of voters.

Steve in SC   December 7th, 2007 2:38 pm ET

She stated that Democratic Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware, she said, is "smart, sexy and experienced" I'm betting not the first or second politician she said that to or about! The more she opens her mouth, the less I dislike Bill Clinton!

Simon, IA   December 7th, 2007 2:32 pm ET

This old scandal stuff is exactly what we don't need if we really want to move this country forward. I don't care if Bill's mistress backs Hillary, I'm sick to death of hearing about this dysfunctional marriage, and I won't stand to see it screw up our country another 4 years. Bill's scandal led to the republican takeover. The Republican takeover lead to the debacle in Iraq. Please America, let's not continue to recycle this ugly bipartisan hatred back and forth anymore. It may be temporarily beneficial for one party or the other, but it is hurting us as a country. We're not a collection of blue states and red states, we are The UNITED States of America. I'm voting for Obama this primary because I think he is the only one who might possibly heal America.

Posted By rdierker : December 7, 2007 10:28 am

That is an outright lie. Bill's scandal didnt lead to Republican takeover. There were other reasons why lazy ass Democrats lost to resurgent Newt Gingrich "Contract to America"

rdierker you are one of the reasons why America is falling in IQ. If you think personal life scandals influence and fill America with hatred, then I think America is better off not having voters like you.

Use your brain and intelligence, not emotions while votting. It will do your kids a lot of good in future. Dont be lazy and vote of hope & fluff.

How about you print articles about all of Guiliani's girlfriends/wives etc?

Tom, ALBUQUERQUE, NM   December 7th, 2007 2:32 pm ET

I am sure Hillary is at peace with the fuss about Bill's affairs. Only A weak, non-handsome, lethargic, unsuccessful, short or fat, sloppy married man can truly say he has not been flirted with by a young beautiful woman. To the successful, handsome man temptation is a constant bother. I can attest to that. It comes with the territory. Review our past Presidents and you will find most of them had 'other women' in their life.

Mary Dunn Louisville, Kentucky   December 7th, 2007 2:31 pm ET

Your support of Hillary will only detract from her. The media will focus only on your relationship with former President Clinton, which serves as a reminder for the public that Bill also will be back in the White House. She does not need your type of support.

Donna, Upper Marlboro, MD   December 7th, 2007 2:27 pm ET

Dallas, CA   December 7th, 2007 2:15 pm ET

God, I am so sick of the "what makes this news?" refrain every time a story like this is posted.

This is a BLOG, people! No one ever claimed it to be news. No one forced you to take time out of your day to click on the link to a story you new was about Flowers, and then to add a comment.

The comments about "this is not news" are so old and nobody thinks you're clever when you say that. Grow up.

Sue, Reedsburg WI   December 7th, 2007 2:10 pm ET

Spare me, this is NOT news!

jerry, San Francisco, CA   December 7th, 2007 2:10 pm ET

Yes, calling this "news" is ridiculous. But there's one ironic bit of sense in it: even the gender-favoring Gennifer knows that the only candidate with real knowledge and experience is Joe Biden. You look at the debates and forums and it hits you in the face- Biden towers over the rest of the crowd. So many people agree on this. Then they say, "But he won't get the nomination, etc…" Crazy country, where the obviously qualified person is automatically out of considereation.

Christina P, San Francisco, CA   December 7th, 2007 2:09 pm ET

I was beginning to lose confidence in the American voter. And then the overwhelming majority of comments on this item said exactly the right thing, "who the hell cares?"

Joe B Asheville NC   December 7th, 2007 1:43 pm ET

To all those who think this is a non issue, think about this…

There was a big discussion earlier in the race about Hillary being more connected with Women's Rights more than any other candidate.
Now a story comes up on CNN regarding Bill's indiscretions years ago.
My question to you is this: What spouse would put up with a cheating husband, not once, but three times (that we are aware of)?
I'll tell you who: someone that would stand to get and maintain a certain amount of power and influence.
Do you believe that her marriage to Bill is nothing more than a power/business arrangement? I sure do.
Do you think that staying with someone that betrays your trust and makes a mockery of her marriage is an advocate for women's rights? I sure don't.
No more of the same old Government!!

Mike, Rochester, NY   December 7th, 2007 1:36 pm ET

Why is everyone blaming cnn for this? It's news on fox as well go to the website. Do broken marriages throw any light on the value of a society? Divorce is too easy in this country, that is why 50% of marriages break in this country. Instead of commending a woman for sticking with her husband, you are insulting her that she did not divorce him. Why are you poking your nose in their personal matters? How exactly does that have any effect on the governing positions of either Hillary or Bill. Despite all the stupid stuff around him, Bill still turned out to be one of the best Presidents of this century.

I am so proud of Hillary that she stuck with him. And Jim, if and when your wife plans to divorce you, we will not be concerned that will be your business and hers, so please stick to the issues.

I disagree with "Gary, Indiana" who said gender should be at the bottom of anyone's list in choosing a candidate. Women have worked hard to achieve more than just cooking your dinners, and there is nothing wrong with any woman being excited that she might be able to help elect the first woman president. It would be making history. Not to mention it would break the largest glass ceiling of all!

Robert, Shelton, CT   December 7th, 2007 12:04 pm ET

This is kind of funny, but it proves Clinton has alot of support among women.

Kate, gb   December 7th, 2007 12:04 pm ET

Well, my intelligent vote for Obama will cancel out her vote for 'gender.'

I don't think America cares if Bill's 'lady friends' are possibly voting for his wife.

Let's get to the REAL issues at stake and not reiterating an obscure vote for CNN's precious Hillary.

Ivra, San Diego   December 7th, 2007 11:57 am ET

My wish for our country is that we begin using our heads for something other than a place to put a tilted "pimp" hat.
This "story" is only news in some bizarro world where up is down and right is wrong.
The biggest problem with Hillary as a president is that there is absolutely no support for the traditional family unit. We need the family to come back every child needs both parents! And that is something that I have yet to hear from the lips of Mrs Clinton.

I'm sure Slick Willie is already dreaming of Hillary and Flowers making out while he watches.

Charlie, Portland, OR   December 7th, 2007 11:56 am ET

Great, an irrelevant twit says something completely vapid about politics! What a scoop!

Jimenez - Texas   December 7th, 2007 11:52 am ET

I have to give Ms. Clinton a hell of alot of credit. And I disagree w/Jim - Tucson: "It seems that she has a marriage of convenience. I don't think there are many women that are as independent and hard working as Hillary that would remain married to such a man." Sir it's her strength to stay in the marriage that I have always admired. Her personal life has no bearing to her professional life. C'mon lets all take a good look at our personal lives here. Most women would have walked out. I think she stayed because of her determination to make her marriage work. Clinton is no quitter.

Philip, Austin, TX   December 7th, 2007 11:51 am ET

She is about as flaky on her voting stance as Hillary is about national issues.
Maybe it's got to do something with Bill :D

Dan, TX   December 7th, 2007 11:50 am ET

I think CNN is just giving us a gentle reminder of what the news will look like all of next year when Hillary is the nominee. This is mild compared to the onslaught from the neocons. I don't think any of the republican candidates would go after Hillary with negative attacks. But there are some crazy people out there that CNN will post on their headlines day after day after day after day.

It isn't fair to Hillary to have to pay for the sins of her husband. Although because of his sins we got George Bush as president.

Biden/Dodd/Richardson/Obama/Edwards take your pick. But I am done with Clinton/Bush family presidents.

John Adkisson, Sacramento, California   December 7th, 2007 11:48 am ET

Well this brings back memories of the 90's! The candor, the integrity. Remember who managed the denials? Remember who was silent when the stories turned out to be true? That's the kind of experience we need in the White House again. Not!

ale biglio calgary   December 7th, 2007 11:40 am ET

Can I say: "strange bedfellows"?

Thomas, Baton Rouge, LA   December 7th, 2007 11:35 am ET

This is news?

La'Kitgum, NH   December 7th, 2007 11:32 am ET

If Republicans and Democrats can compromise on a national isssue, why can't Jeniffer Flowers mend fences with Hillary for change, prosperity and security for America? Welcome aboard, Jen.

A vote for Hillary is a vote for experienced leadership and change. Burry the hatchet and common in.

JJ, Chicago   December 7th, 2007 11:27 am ET

What an extraordinary cheap excuse for journalism! If you listen very closely, you can hear Edward R. Murrow spinning in his grave.

Jim - Tucson   December 7th, 2007 11:26 am ET

I would vote for Hillary if she would have divorced Bill. It seems that she has a marriage of convenience. I don't think there are many women that are as independent and hard working as Hillary that would remain married to such a man. If her personal life is in such disarray then what can we expect from her as President?

Joe Seattle, WA   December 7th, 2007 11:24 am ET

"I like the way she was so definite about it (immigration)"

Apparently this woman didn't watch the infamous driver's license exchange.

Wow, time has not been good to Gennifer. She looks to have been beaten repeatedly with an ugly stick.

RightyTighty   December 7th, 2007 11:23 am ET

Performer at Bottom's Up… Well isn't that special, another classy endorsement to add to Hillary's gift bag.

Ha Ha!!

Wade, Philadelphia PA   December 7th, 2007 11:22 am ET

Thanks for this crap non-news that just further degrades the level of discourse in this country. This kind of journalism puts CNN right alongside Fox. You should put half your people on generating this kind of chicle.

LoooseyGoosey   December 7th, 2007 11:21 am ET

Wow! She is hotter than Hillary ever was.
Ummmmmm, excuse me for a couple of minutes, I'm feeling Bill's pain now..

Paul,derry,NH   December 7th, 2007 11:20 am ET

Thank you Jennifer for those insights…..

Travis, Columbus, OH   December 7th, 2007 11:18 am ET

What a bimbo. I'd consider a woman president, just not Hillary. Exactly what direct experience does she have again, other than her Senate term?

Kdavidruguez, Cherry Hill, NJ   December 7th, 2007 11:17 am ET

I am assuming the intent of this tabloid like "news" is suppose to hurt Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton's campaign.
Pls Sentor Clinton keep fighting for us common people don't get discouraged by the media and their tabloid news.
We got your back.

Wayne, The Woodlands Texas   December 7th, 2007 11:16 am ET

Give me a break CNN… can't you come up with something news worthy that's taking place in this world that is a little more important than this? How about lifting the bar a little higher.

Joline, Bethlehem, PA   December 7th, 2007 11:16 am ET

This is NOT valid news. It still amazes me that the media was so interested in what Bill Clinton did to whom, but the current joke of a president in the White House is SCREWING the entire country and there is not much said about it. Check out Oberman's comments from last night on MSNBC!

Caren   December 7th, 2007 11:15 am ET

You guys call CNN the Clinton News Network? Not with stories like this they aren't. In fact they are getting closer & closer to Fox everyday. What the hell was Ted Turner thinking. He has said he is saddened by what CNN has become. Now I understand why

Curtis, Bloomington, IN   December 7th, 2007 11:10 am ET

You have GOT to be kidding me. CNN is absolutely a joke.

Daniel, NY   December 7th, 2007 11:09 am ET

It looks like the California initiative dividing the electoral votes is dead (for a second time) and will now definitely not be on the June ballot. Link.

summus   December 7th, 2007 11:08 am ET

This must be the new joint alliance between TMZ and CNN

Thomas, St. Petersburg, FL   December 7th, 2007 11:08 am ET

Thank you CNN for that critical newsflash about one of Bill Clinton's many, many bimbos.

Now I can sleep soundly tonight.

Peter,sf,california   December 7th, 2007 11:06 am ET

Hillary slept with the president for eight years.

But Flowers claims to have slept with the governor for twelve.

So who's more experienced?
Posted By Timmy, New York, N.Y. : December 7, 2007 10:42 am
Hahahahahahaha, haha, really funny, no more comments

Andrew   December 7th, 2007 11:06 am ET

I consider Gennifer more experienced than Hillary for president– after all she spent more time with Bill.. allegedly of course.

Chris, Middletown, CT   December 7th, 2007 11:06 am ET

Just proves that if you are a know nothing - you will support Hillary - that point is very clear.

Surrealist, Fort Myers, FL   December 7th, 2007 11:05 am ET

Funny, how she just sorta popped up in an AP interview? HMMMMM
Looks like Hillary must be doing pretty good, the competition is really digging now to find poop.

Lee, Ann Arbor, Michigan   December 7th, 2007 11:04 am ET

If ALL Bill Clinton's former mistresses vote for Hillary, she's a shoe in for the democratic nomination.

thomas, Oklahoma City, OK   December 7th, 2007 11:04 am ET

Gennifer, the 80's called, they want their hair back.

christopher, bloomington, in   December 7th, 2007 11:03 am ET

just because of an affair we should really care what this woman thinks? she really doesn't even seem that bright to me in all honest. maybe CNN should report news instead of gossip.

Kim Hewson   December 7th, 2007 11:01 am ET

I didn't believe those stories about blondes until now.

JK Ashburn, VA   December 7th, 2007 11:00 am ET

This makes it official — CNN is now in direct competition with National Enquirer.

What nonsense.

anon New York, NY   December 7th, 2007 11:00 am ET

A recent poll of former Bill Clinton girlfriends shows that Hillary Clinton has a commanding lead with 56.84%.

Barack Obama trails among former Clinton girlfriends, getting only 34.38%. The rest of the Democratic field is in single digits.

Archie Kearney Ne.   December 7th, 2007 10:57 am ET

Boy there is a great endorsement if there ever was one! What sterling credentials for all involved in the former Clinton "president follies". What is so stupid is the amount of people in this country who want to return to that era of " theatrical flim flam"!

Andrew, Atlanta, GA   December 7th, 2007 10:54 am ET

Why is she making news?

'Democratic Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware, she said, is "smart, sexy and experienced."'

Yes, what wonderful criteria for president - sexy.

Wendy   December 7th, 2007 10:53 am ET

Democratic Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware, she said, is "smart, sexy and experienced."

Yes, "sexy" is one characteristic we NEED in our president. Idiot.

JB Oakland   December 7th, 2007 10:48 am ET

I sometimes forget what a player Bill Clinton is/was. CNN, thanks for the memories.

Timmy, New York, N.Y.   December 7th, 2007 10:42 am ET

Hillary slept with the president for eight years.

But Flowers claims to have slept with the governor for twelve.

So who's more experienced?

james,austin,tx   December 7th, 2007 10:42 am ET

that is awesome.

JB Boston MA   December 7th, 2007 10:36 am ET

Get her out on the campaign trail!!!

What a motley bunch. Jenna Jameson, Jennifer Flowers, Barb Streisand, the fake bomb guy in Rochester and Mary Carey.

Why do all the wackadoos support Hillary!

Gary, Indiana   December 7th, 2007 10:33 am ET

"I can't help but want to support my own gender, and she's as experienced as any of the others — except maybe Joe Biden."

…and Chris Dodd, and Bill Richardson, and Mike Gravel, and Dennis Kucinich. Anyone who thinks this election is really about experience is supporting someone who's getting less than 10% in the polls.

There are plenty of reasons to choose a candidate, but gender should be at the bottom of the list. I have no problem with someone supporting Hillary Clinton, but at least have a good reason.

rdierker   December 7th, 2007 10:28 am ET

Austin, Chicago   December 7th, 2007 10:27 am ET

What makes this news?

matt, Philladelphia, PA   December 7th, 2007 10:25 am ET

how is this news? That she MAY vote for hillary. Maybe if she said she was voting for hillary it would be news…

Iris, Charleston, SC   December 7th, 2007 10:25 am ET

What a waste of news space…

Jesse Williamsburg Virginia   December 7th, 2007 10:22 am ET

Do you think this is real news?
