DES MOINES, Iowa (CNN) - According to the Barack Obama campaign, twenty-three thousand tickets were distributed for Saturday's event with Oprah Winfrey.

The first twelve-thousand tickets were handed out to precinct captains, volunteers, caucus training attendees and people who came into one of the 37 Obama offices around the state to ask for one. The other eleven-thousand tickets were distributed on-line.

As Dr King desired, a person should be judge by the content of his character and not by the color of one's skin. Dr King would have been so proud to see the enthusiasm and adulation being showered upon the candidacy of Obama. Iowans have really surprised me. THIS IS GOOD FOR AMERICA, GOOD FOR DEMOCRACY.

Oprah was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW, I'm speechless!

Independent in IA   December 8th, 2007 7:06 pm ET

Being one of the richest women in the world, Oprah Windbag can afford to give away 23,000 cars to her fans who come to the rally Sunday….but she'll prolly include the caveat that they have to be used to transport people to the voting booth with a 'signed-in-blood' promise to vote for Osama Obama.

KEITH JAMES LOUTTIT   December 8th, 2007 11:49 pm ET

Yes, I was there and I'm going to vote for Oprah!

23,000 tickets? No, 23,000 names on a mailing list!

Oprah's running for President?

Translation? Obama has money to beat the republicans…..Obama all the way….

xtina - chicago il   December 9th, 2007 6:50 pm ET

But what has Obama done that's successful as a leader ? (I'm specifically referring to things that didn't involve raising taxes/growing government/adding social programs)

karen nj.   December 9th, 2007 7:48 pm ET

Isn't Obama still considered a "junior Senator"?

aj huntington, ny.   December 9th, 2007 8:02 pm ET

chris from golden lamp is typical of the empty words of the left wing. There are two Americas ; meaning celebrities and businesspeople better stop making so much money if I'M not getting in on it. We need change —- what ? 4.6 unemployment isn't low enough for you? or the ever-popular "I'm different", which basically means, I haven't been 'round Washington long enough yet to get corrupted. But really — read and listen to some of Barack Osama's sound bytes and see if they make sense in a concrete, substantive sense.

Mark, Chicago, IL   December 9th, 2007 11:50 pm ET

So what?

Kyu Reisch, Radcliff, Kentucky   December 10th, 2007 7:24 am ET

Iowans are smarter than Oprah and Obama, I am sure Iowans will show Americans they will do right thing for our Presidential election. Obama didn't do anything for our Country, he didn't deserve the White House. Oprah is hungry the power, may be VP and dreaming to visit Obama often in White House…

LOOKS LIKE OPRAH AND OBAMA SWITCHED PLACES, OPRAHS NOW RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT? AND OBAMA IS HER CAMPAIGNE FLUNKIE?
Go Oprah! We ALL know if anyone can’t take the attention off of obama’s no experience lack of leadership, refusing to show up and vote in the senate on Iran, Abortion measures etc… Seeking a trillion-dollar tax hike and raising the retirement age for Social Security!!!! Is not in favor of a health care plan to cover all children rich or poor and that he cannot make a decision on his own.

You can….YOU have disgraced American woman, YOU ARE A DISGRACE TO THE FEMALE GENDER OPRAH! SHAME ON YOU, now as a last ditch effort you throw Dr Kings name at the black voters, now American knows where you stand on race…

SHAMEFUL ACT…I SUGGEST WE ALL TUNE OUT BOTH!!!

WAKE UP AMERICA! Its time we stop playing with Oprah and elect a QUALIFIED PRESIDENT!!! not just a man because he’s black and oprah says so, she may know soap and books, but why in he world would anyone jeopardize your future because a TV talk show host said so?… This weekends Oprah circus, will not help obama, its make us all realize Oprahs running the show not obama…Our great country needs a qualified leader, maybe if oprah was legally running, but obama is….

Glad the dog and pony show is over
Oprah is a shame to her gender, yes the same gender that made her who she is today and she turns her back on them in a second when race is involved…

I think its time WE ALL tune out the oprahbama show, and let’s elect a REAL Presidential candidate like CLINTON!

I have been a fan of Oprah's since since before she went national. However, her blatant act to influence
the upcoming American election went a bit too far. I've listened to her and bought several books. "A Million Little Pieces" and "Deceptively Delicious" the irony being her judgement was deceptive on both. I'm getting a bit sick of celebrities trying to influence the election…either way. Oh well, maybe she'll do an Oprah segment of her stay in the Lincoln bedroom.
