If drug use of Obama will hurt him ,what about as Wife of the president clinton during Rwanda genocide which wamen and kids were killed on your own watch while you were in White House and your husband and you did veto against to send UN Troops to stop genocide?
The world wanted to stop genocide in Rwanda but you and your husband veto against it. why should we have The Clinton in White House again?

You state that you “do have facts”, and yet all you chose to post originally was a belittling comment that was apparently directed towards anyone inclined to listen to Al Gore. Why not simply reply with facts, and let that statement speak for itself? Yes, I do in fact know how the electoral system works. However, I wonder how many Republican/Conservative voters would have felt the exact same way if the situation had been reversed. Consider this hypothetical: George W. Bush suffers a narrow loss in a key state, costing him the state’s electoral votes, and handing Al Gore a narrow one point electoral victory. This despite George W. Bush winning the popular vote by a margin of over 500,000 votes. The state’s Democratic Secretary of State (who also served as Gore’s state campaign co-chair during the election cycle) certifies the results, and Gore’s brother holds the Governor’s office in that same state. Do you really believe that even eight years later, there wouldn’t be a large number of Republicans/Conservatives who would cry foul? I can understand the frustration on Al Gore’s supporter’s side. That being said, George W. Bush won the election, and as you so adroitly state, the Electoral College decides the Presidency, not the popular vote.

As to the Global Warming issue, I’ll readily admit that I don’t have all the answers. I’d also be willing to bet that no one person or group understands it all. Attempting to understand natural forces on a global scale, has to be a daunting task. However, from a logical standpoint, consider the following:
Currently world population stands at approx. 6.6 billion, up from 978 million (est.) in 1800. That’s an increase of roughly 5.6 billion in a mere 200 years. Modern estimates point to a world population of approx. 8.9 billion by 2050. Energy consumption increases proportionally. In 2000 worldwide oil demand was 76 million barrels / per day (b/d). By 2010 estimates indicate 90.6 million b/d, and by 2020 103.2 million b/d. That doesn’t even factor in demands for other non-renewable sources of energy like coal, natural gas, or nuclear power.
My question to you is, logically, don’t you think that this is going to have an impact on our environment? If the earth was made/created with certain balances in place to allow life to flourish, how far can we as human beings tip that balance before we begin to suffer for it? Suppose Al Gore is wrong on global warming, and most if not all of what is taking place is natural. What is wrong about encouraging conservation? What do we lose by pursuing cleaner, more renewable sources of energy? What do we stand to lose if we community/nation/world attempt to be a little less wasteful, only to later find out that Al Gore was wrong after all? I challenge you to look at the air around places like Mexico City or Beijing, and continue to affirm that our actions have no impact on our environment.
More than anything, I hope that everyone can take a step back and remember that at the end of the day we’re all Americans, and that we all feel just as strongly about our own beliefs as those on the other side of the issue. We may not agree, but we should be able to challenge each other and debate without resorting to petty insults. The facts after all, should be able to speak for themselves.

So we get to the convention in August. Hillary and Obama are still attacking each other, with neither controlling a majority of delegates. The remaining candidates have dropped out, with the exception of Edwards, who continues to make himself as much a pain in the ass as he has become irrelevant. The Republicans are solidly united behind their new savior, Huckabee. Two ballots go by with neither Hillary nor Obama getting a majority. The Tennessee delegation enters Gore’s name as a favorite son. One by one, the other delegations see the wisdom of leaving the damaged front-runners behind and turn to Gore, who is nominated by acclamation. He helicopters in from Aspen, where he’s been giving an address to the World Council of Fixing the Mess, and speaks live to a television audience of 100 million. The election campaign becomes almost comical, as Huckabee is assailed time and again by scandals large and small from his days as Governor of Arkansas. Gore wins the election with the largest popular vote and Electoral College margin in history.

David in Austin -

While I do have facts - it seems to matter little to Gore supporters who will scream that "Gore won presidency" and it was "stolen" from him - (we all know how the electorial college works...well..maybe not you)

Well...and theres that "fact" about CO2 levels rising and causing global warming - in order - WATER VAPOR, METHANE and then CO2 as the greenhouse gases - 95% of CO2 is natural...buildings cause 3% of the other CO2....and automobiles are 2% - also on Gores charts in the movie - he shows heat and CO2 rising together historically - when in fact his own charts show heat rising...and then (up to a thousand years later CO2 levels) - now...theres that little "fact" of England where they won't show his movie unless they point out the factual errors....come on people - we aren't that dumb....maybe just "illiterate" like David....

To the people who said "truth to power" about Al Gore ! I don't think so... he's for big government control of more aspects of your life. He actually wants mandates and regulations on what you can drive, how you run your home, what kind of energy sources you use, etc. While he and his wealthy Hollywood friends just pay an extra fee to exempt themselves from doing the same . I imagine he also would propose new taxes in all these different aspects of our lives to make us pay for our lifestyles, while he continues to live a very consumptive lifestyle.

Why does CNN hype everything to do with Al Gore. If I really had to point out a bias, I'd say that CNN is beholden to Gore, if only in an effort to get him to jump in the race. And Fox has made a concerted effort to discredit him. So it goes. The media's vicious thirst for a story drives the country in whichever direction is most convenient. Or maybe I'm having a bad day.

Gore would have made a great president should the whole state of Florida been recounted. Gore won't run currently because there is a much better chance he can get something done without being in the White House. I can't believe people still claim that global warm is a fraud. You must work for a fossil fuel (oil, coal etc) industry group and are looking not to lose your job.

Our planet is a closed system for the most part. Think of it this way: you are in a room that produces oxygen and CO2 among other gases and has a place for light to come in. There is a balance that is maintained. If you start putting a whole lot more CO2 and other gases that retain heat in the room, you will find the patterns of heat and growth will have changed and become more unpredictable.

I supported Gore in 2000. Never again. His actions following the loss proved him more interested in obtaining political power than protecting the country. Even Nixon in his loss to Kennedy had the good sense not challenge an election final, after the Chicago ballot box stuffing. The problem with challenging any election is there are always voting problems on both sides of the campaign. It only tears apart a country.

Please run, Algore. I'd love to watch you lose AGAIN!

You lost he recount. This was confirmed by two LIBERAL newspapers doing their own independent investigation. The Supreme Court gave Bush NOTHING.

I'm still laughing over the Sore/Loserman bumperstickers from the 2000 election. :-)

I want Al Gore to run on an 'American Ticket'. A Democratic Presidential Candidate, Al Gore and Republican Vice Presidential Candidate, Chuck Hagel. America needs candidates willing to speak 'Truth to Power' to stop the spin by mainstream media. Gore/Hagel '08 could take on mainstream media spin from day one. The current spin is making Americans dizzy. We aren't more informed, they pick and choose what they cover. They have annointed Hillary and Obama as the chosen Democratic candidates. Biden, Edwards and Kucinich get very little coverage. Not because they aren't saying anything, but because the media has decided who get's voices and who doesn't. America needs to come together as Americans and stop being divided by party politics.

How big is Al's house? but of course heating and cooling it is offset by his Carbon Credit? I guess that means the power company doesn't really give off all the emmsions for his house that it does for everyone elses. I wonder what he drives. If he really cared about the environment like he says he does, he would live in a tiny one room home (only what is necessary) and would ride a bike and would only have a couple of clothes to change into while the others are washed and only wear one outfit a day, other wise he is heating/cooling unused space in his home (wasting resources)and if he changes clothes during the day he is washing more then is necessary again wasting resources and if he has a car, which I would question when he is more then capable to use "man" power to travel so that he doesn't waste resources. No american would live like this way are too comfortable and addmitadly it is a GREAT life, it is frustrating when someone is living so LARGE that they condemn people that are living a quarter of the HYPOCRITE. I would bet his Master Bedroom is larger then the average American Home. Boy that is just what we need in the White House another talker not a doer. Where would Global Warming be if we all lived as Large as Al

Al Gore was president once in 2000 and he gave it up without a fight to George Bush, it was an illegal election and no one did anything about it not Gore not anyone. He dosnt deserve to be president for letting that go down the way it went down. Besides that he works for the same people the Clintons and the Bushies do theres nothing diffrent about this guy at all just becasue he recognizes that global warming is real dosnt make him special, if it does then people have very low standards...Oh yeah and why not vote for Ralph Nader you only agree with him on 100% of the issues. Who votes a certain way because of who wins in iowa or new hampshire...Has anyone on this page ever been to iowa? If you have then you would know that you shouldnt trust there judgement..

I always thought he was speaking in political code because he wanted to become the next head of the EPA. That seems perfect for him. If global warming is an issue for people, then who better than to drive the environmental policy of the country?

Forrest Gore
"Run, stupid, run!!"

Liberals are just convinced, convinced that the human animal has the capacity to change the weather. I swear, give a monkey a brain and he'll swear he's the center of the universe.

Stay home, Al. Your time is over. Your Inconvenient Truth is a joke. There is more ice at the North and South Poles right now than normal. The earth is cooling off this year. It had warmed up, it freaked you out, you shouted like Chicken Little to get yourself all the attention you crave and now you look like a fool. Your Nobel Prize is a consolation award from your Liberal junkies for losing the White House. Do yourself and the rest of us favor and stay in the private sector. I'm pretty sure you're a nice guy and your wife is respectable, but you are just NOT Presidential material. We've shown you that 2 times now. Sorry.

The Nobel committee should have thought of it earlier.

Was Gore pushing for global warming for political advanatge?

Does Gore wish to return to the White House so he can fight against global warming more efficiently?

Only he knows.

If Gore was to run, I would like to see him nominate Edwards as VP. It would be a two-fer since both ran decent campaigns and were cheated by the supremes and voting machine fraud. No matter who gets in to office Dems, better fix the election system or it will fix the US forever.

Wake up hippies! Here is a link to help get you started researching a FACTUAL story currently hushed however, not by the scientists. Basically did you know that we humans were far more civilized 8000 years ago then we thought? It appears so. Apparently we were so civilized back then that we were already scuba diving. That’s right! An 8000 year old village was found in the depths of the English Channel and humans either had scuba gear or a giant air tight dome over it so that people could survive, grow crops and/or wonder what land living humans were up too. I guess that people must have been smoking so much pot back then, that the emissions greatly rivaled current pollution emissions quantities and caused the oceans to rise across the globe some 40-50 feet because God knows global warming/glacial melt isn’t a variable. P.S. Good Luck Gore getting China, India, Asia, South America, North America, Europe and the people living under the sea to go green!

Gore knows he would lose, otherwise he'd run. If he couldn't defeat President Bush in 2000 when Bush was relatively unknown and Gore was perceived as a centrist, now with President Bush having risen in stature for his post-911 leadership, Gore would have a tough time beating a GOP candidate committed to the War on Terror as their top issue.

George Bush's approval ratings are at 32%. That's not a risen stature. Also I don't know if you were sleep last November but the Republican's Lost not 10...not 20....but 30 House seats and control of both chambers of Congress.....

But as far as this thread goes, i would vote for Al Gore in a heartbeat. The only reason i couldn't last time was because I was 16 years old in 2000.

To all those who are criticizing Al Gore and who voted for George Bush seven years ago -- How's that been workin' out for us? Only someone who is blind, deaf and dumb to reality would still say George W. Bush is a good president. Or they've indulged in too much of the red (state) Kool-Aid. Drink up everyone, and don't ask any questions...

I wish we had a word that defined those that follow Gore….wait…we do - illiterate….
Posted By Chris, Middletown, CT : December 10, 2007 2:39 pm

il•lit•er•ate
–adjective
1. unable to read and write: an illiterate group.
2. having or demonstrating very little or no education.
3. showing lack of culture, esp. in language and literature.
4. displaying a marked lack of knowledge in a particular field: He is musically illiterate.

I have seen comments both for and against Al Gore. I have seen rebuttals to a handful of those comments, again both pro and con. That you used this word is curious. You seem to imply that those who agree with Al Gore are unable to read or write. Yet I've seen responses, apparently from his supporters, who appear to be able to do just that. Perhaps you use the word in some feeble attempt to belittle someone who has a different opinion than your own (perhaps because you cannot counter with facts). In that case, you yourself appear to show a lack of culture. I wish we had a word to describe someone like that….wait…we do - illiterate.

Too late.

If Gore ran a real campagin in 2000 instead of coming off like a weak stand for nothing wimp, we wouldn't have this sorry excuse for a train wreck administration in office today.

Too bad he isn't going to run, I kept hoping that he would. Whoever we elect is going to have an extremely challenging presidency, needs to be bigger than their party, and convince us to do the right/smart thing even if it hurts. Let's see, who does that leave...

I wanted Gore to run but the time has passed for 2008.

What he should do is run fo VICE President. He'd have the weight of the Presidency on his side and would not have suffer the crap of the campaign trail. Once in office he could focus solely on the environment. As President he'd got caught up in every other dang thing and be taken off his focus.

VICE President is the way to go, Al. Cheney showed it can be a powerful office. Use its powers for good.

"josh," were you even of voting age in '88? That was the last republican presidential victory that could remotely be considered a "land-slide," and I don't understand how it's germain to this article or these comments.

I pray to God that Gore's comments were the beginning of a buildup to a presidential run. The present options leave slightly nauseous.

I have voted in the past for Al Gore and would vote for him again in a heart beat. Mr. Gore represents everything the Bush administration IS NOT. He is an honest, caring individual who cares for his country and this earth. Had Mr. Gore been permitted to take his rightful place in the White House, I feel that 9/11 would not have occurred, as I believe the Bush administration either helped orchestrate those attacks or knew about them and deliberately did nothing, in order to further their agenda with the Iraq war and the Iran war he so desperately wants to start.

A Gore presidency would have enabled America to continue with the respect and decency and strength it once boasted. Our Constitutional rights would still be intact. I believe Mr. Gore would have been able to keep our economy strong and not sold out to the highest bidders.

I can only hope Mr. Gore will come back and make his bid for the White House.

It would have been nice not to be plagued with corruption, lies, cronyism, evangelical idiots... oh, yeah, and a war that we got into because our 'Imbecile in Chief' wanted to avenge his daddy.
