Bill Clinton: George H.W. Bush will help President Hillary

Bill Clinton said former president George H.W. Bush will help fix damage done to America's reputation by his son, George W. Bush.

ORANGEBURG, South Carolina (CNN) – Former President Bill Clinton said Monday that the first thing his wife Hillary will do when she reaches the White House is dispatch him and his predecessor, President George H.W. Bush, on an around-the-world mission to repair the damage done to America's reputation by the current president - Bush's son, George W. Bush.

"Well, the first thing she intends to do, because you can do this without passing a bill, the first thing she intends to do is to send me and former President Bush and a number of other people around the world to tell them that America is open for business and cooperation again," Clinton said in response to a question from a supporter about what his wife's "number one priority" would be as president.

A spokesman for the George H. W. Bush said Tuesday afternoon the former president supports his son's foreign policy and has "never discussed an ‘around-the-world-mission’ with either former President Bill Clinton or Sen. Clinton." (Click here for the full statement)

Clinton and the elder Bush, rivals in the 1992 presidential election, have grown chummy in recent years, often traveling and appearing at public events together. In 2005, they started a charity to help victims of Hurricane Katrina.

UPDATE: The Republican National Committee issued this statement in response to Clinton's comments:

"In 2009, a Republican president will be working with our friends and allies abroad to continue to keep our nation safe," said RNC spokesman Danny Diaz. "The American people expect our leaders - both current and former - to present serious solutions to the very real challenges confronting our nation."

– CNN South Carolina Producer Peter Hamby

I think it would be a great move. Bush has ruined this country in the eyes of the rest of the world and to many here as well. Clinton is loved world wide even more than in the USA. The Clinton years were wonderful compared to the wreck we are in right now.

You need to ask yourself, who do you want sitting across the table from Putin? Hillary – hardly, Obama – please, Edwards – HA. Fred Thompson is who I want sitting across that table.

I think our former President has lost his mind. He alone is doing more damage to his wife's candidate than any media or rival campaign. He is a loose cannon that this country cannot afford to have near the source of power. Instead of destroying Obama and putting that campaign on the defensive, he has put his wifes on the defensive. For heaven sakes – who would ever think a dad would endorse trashing his son.

Who cares? We are still voting for Clinton. We don't care if she is an undercover republican. We don't care if you don't like her or her husband. We don't care what she will say or do. What we do say is Clinton is our choice and will remain so. So write what you want. We live in freedom. Doesn't change our minds. Clinton 08

W is not responsible for any damage to our reputation. The damage was done in the media. #1 – NO ONE is pro war. If you think those actions were not necessary, you're ill advised. You think it's not better now; speak to someone from there. #2- As for Pro-Corporation; who pays you, Jesse, welfare. Wake up. You just believe whatever the media says, don’t ya. You do some research. Get some firsthand facts, not editorials.

This is merely more "smoke and mirrors" from Clinton Inc. we cannot trust a word she says; her only goal is power at any cost. She is as dangerous as any despot of previous generations...besides that, her "experience" is as imaginary as her likability...

Backstabing sitting presidents is the last brick in Bill's pitiful legacy, no one needs Hillary to win more than he does..

All Bill wants is to ride on Hillary's rather large pant suit tails back into the White House to govern..

"Willy" just keeps running his mouth, whether what he says is the truth, or not, is purely coincidental. Hillary Rodham is more disciplined – she just panders and obfuscates – all the time.

A VERY misleading headline by the liberal Clinton news network. Without reading the article , it appears that Bush Sr. has endorsed Ms Rodham. This is actually a proposal by slick Bill that Bush Sr. has Not even commented on. VERY IRRESPONBIBLE REPORTING!!!!

Great. So for those who are tired of administrations run by Clinton and Bush, here's your chance to have both at once?
No wonder Obama keeps talking about "the wrong kind of experience" and is gaining in the polls!
Bill Clinton just loves to rewrite history. Look into the archives back in 1991 to see what he thought and said about 41's foreign policy expertise at the time.
Face it, the Clintons would hire Karl Rove if that's what it took to win.

This is all we need. The Bush-Clinton oligarchy is entering a dangerous phase when both families meddle in each other's diplomacy and affairs. The New World Order is now in effect when both of these foolish men begin to interact with each other to run the country through Hillary.

This is no different than Putin taking the "backseat" to a new president. The powers to be will use the CIC as a puppet to their evil plans and eventually will take absolute power of everything government. It's bound to happen.

Are Americans REALLY dumb enough to "vote" for our very own 2-family monarchy?
    You bet we are!

All the personal attack aside, one has to admit that the standing of America in the world had been MUCH MUCH stronger during the Bill Clinton and the senior Bush's era. America has lost its way, and all its moral standing, in the world stage under W.

So, what's the problem with all you people saying this and that is no good, with Bill and Bush Sr trying to repair the damage? Why don't you people come up with just ONE darn idea that is the least bit positive and constructive?!? Where is the conspiracy, when all the "conspiracy" does is to get America back on track again?

I just cannot understand the seemingly blind faith the Clinton supporters operate on. There were many other reasons why I would not vote for Hillary but this just seals the deal for me. The whole Bush/Clinton empire rule has to end for our country to truly recover and prosper once again.

Most of the world loves America.

    Clinton's premise is false.

Not only are immigrants standing in visa lines at U.S. embassies around the world, but new bilateral miliary, economic, and defense treaties are being concluded – more bilateral treaties than ever.

    For example,
    1. INDIA
    2. VIETNAM
    3. JAPAN
    4. TAIWAN
    5. SOUTH KOREA
    6. AUSTRALIA
    7. ROMANIA
    8. BULGARIA
    9. UKRAINE
    10.MONGOLIA,
    11.POLAND
    12.CHECK REPUBLIC
    13.GREAT BRITAIN
    14.TAJIKSTAN
    15.TURKMENISTAN
    16.UZBEKISTAN., ETC.

Are among the greatly expanded list of U.S. Allies.

These are many new long term mutual defense and economic cooperation treaties.

“The whole world hates America” is empty propaganda.

“The whole world hates America” is a tired Democratic canard, just hollow anti-American propaganda.

Again, this is factually documented by many treaties, newly written during the Bush Administration years.
