Closing arguments in Iowa

Watch Obama react to Bhutto's death

Watch CNN's Suzanne Malveaux preview the upcoming caucuses.

(CNN) – With just three days left before the first primary caucus in Iowa and a virtual dead heat in the polls, Democratic presidential hopefuls are making their closing arguments and final efforts to motivate Hawkeye state residents to vote.

Among the vows of a safer America and a tough stance on illegal immigration, candidates are promising babysitters, catered meals, and people to shovel snow on Caucus night.

CNN’s Suzanne Malveaux is tracking the candidates during their final hours.

New poll from Iowa released this morning and it has some good news for McCain and for Edwards, while Huck-Romney are still locked in a toss-up.

There is something wrong with a system that allows less than 100,000 people to have such a lopsided say in the political process.

What we really need is a candidate who is willing to talk about fixing the way we elect a president, that doesn't include such slavish devotion to the Iowa Carcasses.

How many of you supporting Obama notice that media has already abandoning Obama and rallying around Edwards all of a sudden? Democrats should careful enough to see through this right-wing conspiracy. All they want is to stop Clinton, and it doesn't matter to them whether that person is Obama or Edwards.
Also Bloomberg is considering running as a third party candidate if the democrat nominee is either obama or edwrads and republican is Huckabee. This shows what kind of a weak status they give to anyone other than Clinton.
Republicans hate Clinton, at the same time they fear her. They know that they can't mess with the Clintons. We democarts should understand this challenge and work to send the strongest candidate Clinton to the front.

After the reveraltion of the thruth about the real causes of the former Prime Minister of Benazir Bhutto, it seems our President G. Bush is supporting a corrupt and a highly questionable criminal regime of President Parvez Musharraf of Pakistan.
Our Billion of Dollars, preferably spend in the U.S. instead, of economic and military aids to the government of President P. Musharraf, have been illigally, with the knowledge of our current administration, have been financing to establish and promote a Pakistani Government sponsored TERRORIST organization to assasinate and eliminate Pakistani prominent pilitical personalities, such as, former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
While all these killings and assasinations are taking place in Pakistan, George Bush is fully supporting the current corrupt adminstration of Parvez Musharraf.
As the unfolding of the assasination of the former Prime Minister B. Bhutto is surfacing all over the world, our White House also will have to answer to certain questions concerning the corrupt and highly questionable and criminal conduct of President Parvez Musharraf.
What happened to our Moral Values ?
Our we leading the world or are we partners in supporting corrupt government, like the one of President Parvez Musharraf ?

IN THE NAME OF DEMOCRACY AND FIGHTING TERRORISM, PRESIDENT PARVEZ MUSHARRAF IS ABUSING THE UNCONDITIONAL SUPPORT OF PRESIDENT GEORGE BUSH, TO ASSASINATE AND ELIMINATE PAKISTANI PROMINENT AND POLITICAL PERSONALITIES.
BILLION DOLLARS OF AMERICAN ECONIMIC AND MILITARY AIDS HAVE BEEN USED TO BRIBE HIGH RANKING PAKISTANI MILITARY OFFECERS TO KEEP PRESIDENT PARVEZ MUSHARRAF AS HEAD OF PAKISTAN.
LISTEN TO THE FABRICATED LIES OF PAKISTAN'S AMBASSADOR TO THE U.S. MAHMUD ALI DIRANI. WILL AMBASSADOR DIRANI BE AROUND TO TALK AFTER THE REVELATION OF THE REAL CAUSE OF THE ASSASINATION OF FORMER PRIME MINISTER BENAZIR BHUTTO ?
GEORGE BUSH IS OFFERING HIS UNCONDITIONNAL SUPPORT TO P. MUSHARRAF. WHILE PRESIDENT MUSHARRAF IS POKETING OUR BILLION OF DOLLARS AND ORGANIZINF ASSASINATION OF HIS OPPONENTS AND OF HIS COUNTRY MEN.
AND GEORGE BUSH CALLS PRESIDENT PARVEZ MUSHARRAF OUR PARTNER IN FITHING GLOBAL TERRORISM. WHAT A JOKE.
CORRUPT POLITICIANS AND HEAD OF COUTRIES ARE ABUSING OUR REPUTATION AND OUR CURRENT ADMINIATRATION IS INDEED VERY, VERY SILENT. WE CALL THIS THE 'legacy of President George Bush".

Obama continues to be a threat to national maturity.

Fresh man rookie obama, with his big ego and little experence is in a up hill battle for the democratic nomination.

We all know it will take Edward or Clinton to beat the republicans.

What is Sooooo important about the Iowa Cacus? Iowa is about the size of San Antone, Tx.; People speak in Dilect, they don't have an Industry, don't raise Corn, don't raise Cotton and they don't drink Tequila. If they Do its probably out of a Cup!
Hell No! They don't represent America's Interest. The thing is CNN made Iowa famous, with a little F.

There is a "sine non qua" issue for each American to consider every day of their life particularly in this political season. In the political process, as we expend great thought on which candidate's religious convictions are stronger; or we discuss if a woman is capable of world leadership or the billions of dollars wasted on an unnecessary war – we should constantly remember one thing: NOTHING else matters if the planet can no longer sustain all life. In simplicity, breathing clean air, eating food, drinking water for ALL of Earth's living beings are daily activities without which we cannot sustain our basic physical life. VOTE for a candidate who understands the essence of being connected to the planet we inhabit. Vote for planet Earth.

Does getting involved in politics for a year or 6 months give the american people something to do? I cant figure out any other reason why they would even support Hillary or Obama Or Bloomberg or anyone like this...You cant say with a straight face that you read the news everyday, you wouldnt be saying half the things people have been saying for the past few months about any of these people...Just like the american people as a whole these politicans are generican biproducts of each other formed out of the corportate mold...Dosnt anyone want america to do something again someday? Dosnt anyone want to make money again someday, not have college loan scams when the future is right around the corner and you HAVE to go to college, fictitious morage rates, interest rates, houseing slumps, illegal taxation, over taxation of individuals, the illegal income tax for individual citizens, corporations not saying any taxes at all, america the consumer welfare state, putting into power and supporting numerous dictators throughout south america and the middle east, not moving forward technologicly, crumbling infustructure, poor poor poor education, poor moral values, a violent society, unneccessary school shoots, gun deaths, teachers constantly having sex with their students, the world bank, nafta, cafta....The excuses this country has given in the last 20 years as "progess" or change is untrue..There selling everyone out on this page and across this country, they want you to starve, they want you to be poor, they want to make sure you need to work to pay off all your debts so at least you never ask for a raise in pay, while they pay you 22,000 a year in a markey requiring a college degree. Ceo's in this country are getting multi year bonus's of 100 million dollars, people are paying 37% intrest on credit cards, paying 30 % on morage rates, giving people locked in "rates" knowing full well people arnt reading the fine print, the federal reserve charging us for buying money from them, bombing other countries and forming an economy dependent on going to war as a source of capitalism while calling it spreading freedomism, spreading constant lies and letting the meida continue them on without doing anything about it, not saving energy, not caring about the enviroment, health care scams, price of drugs, quality of drugs, quality of science, cost of science, cost of drugs that arnt safe for you, the dangers of legal drugs, the war on drugs, sending money out to leaders murdering their own people because we want to trade with them, letting captialism get out of control and take over the govnt, people being blind to what others are doing to them and using them for...This could go on forever, as far as i know im still free and so is everyone else should probably try and enjoy life a little in this new year and really get some things done

    Re: apollo adams

But apollo adams, we should be thinking about who NEEDS to win, not who can just for the sake of beating the GOP.

And as a matter of technicality, Obama beats all the Republicans in a match up – Clinton is the worst choice to beat a Republican and Edwards second worst.

If Dems want a President there's only one clear choice dear friend – Obama.

There's a reason why Obama has been closing in on and even overtaking Hillary in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina. We've had the opportunity to see all of them close up, compare them and make up our minds. Obama blows Hillary away on so many levels it isn't even funny. Believe me, when the campaign gets into full swing in more areas, the same thing will happen around the rest of the country. McCain is probably the only GOP candidate who could give Obama a run for his money. Anyone else gets beat by double digits. McCain would at least keep it respectably close.

What is wrong with you people? Do you really think Obama can be President? Those of you that vote for him are securing a Republican victory in 2008. It is great that you can imagine a new republic, but it is not going to happen. We need an IRON LADY. This is our Margaret Thatcher moment. Don't try to get some wet-behind-the-ears boy in the office. There is only one choice to make our nation both what it was and what it should be. And that choice is HILLARY CLINTON.

Even when most people deep down knew that having slaves was wrong the country fought hard against itself with a moral issue that needed no real thought to understand that it needed to change. Now this country is faced with knowing that the only way to change Washington is to change the people in it. Every body knows this but haven't the guts to actually do it. This election is less to do with parties or persons and more to do with principles. Romney is not trying to mask the fact that he is an disembling, elitest bigot who will change with every shift of wind. Huckabee is your garden variety southern preacher who thinks that maybe they are better than others just because. Don't trust him. Hillary Clinton is ruthless and beguiling. While it would be a nice change to have a good strong woman as a president it is not such a good idea to have her as that woman. Too much baggage. Edwards doesn't seem to be an above board type. He creates controversy like a bad hat then runs for cover. There's something very disingenuine about a person who uses that kind of political tactic. Obama is new on the block but that dosen't mean that he hasn't been around it few times. I think he's too smart for some peoples liking. Especially those who would run this country into the ground behind a pretense of good intentions. But I believe that his being black has as much to do with any negative views that one can come up with in regards to him. No one of the candidates running is perfect, and if one appears to be so or would lead you to think so, you had better run in other direction as fast as you can. Don't believe the hype. As fas as Biden and Richardson go their good guys. Would make great vp's. So would Chris Dodd. Now McCain is way too old and besides, he panders too much. Decent man but better on the team and not running it. Fred Thompson should have stayed on Law and Order. Period. Hunter shall we say is, well let's not say. Dennis is forthright but lacks presence. Yes, Obama is the resonable, sound and just choice for America. In a vain society that holds little truth and right anymore lead by a government that loves its ignorance, we need a man like Obama. Not a flake or a fake. Just someone who really understands. I guess you could say that I'm now gaining hope.

    Alex,

I'm British and would rather die than have Thatcher back in power. She completely savaged my country.

If you're serious about electing a President, you'd be better off not thinking in terms of an "Iron Lady" but who is actually your best candidate.

    All best,

    Shaun

    Re Damon Albarn,

    I respectfully disagree,

Damon you really need a reality check.

Obama is on a crusade to hand the Neo cons the white house.

If you love our dear America you will blog for Hillary or Edwards.

Obama's remarks about Hillary making racial remarks is a perfect example.
If you read her comment about M.L.K. You will see that she clearly did'nt make a racial slur.

This fact alone leads one to suspect one his intellligence, or two his honor.

Damon please reconcider you're position, we need good bloggers lile you to win back our dear America, Love Adams
