The limit for donations from an individual is $2300 in 2007. So if you gave "several thousand dollars" as an individual "housewife" to Hillary, you broke the law. Not that you'd be alone in that regard...

I suspect that you did not give anything to Hillary and are making things up to try to cover for her.

Sorry, no sale! The hundred million was not culled from children's piggybanks and the egg and pin money of Iowa housewifes. It came from "aggragators" and PACs and other groups. Individual donations are a drop in the bucket compared to that.

Janet gets it! If someone could just answer these questions, then I would have no objection to Hillary. But when you raise these issues with a Hillary supporter or with the campaign, they refuse to answer, or they claim you are a "Bushie" or you are making an "unfair attack" (there is a fair attack?) or whatever.

They'l lchange the subject, but they'll never answer the question. Just for once, I'd like to see someone say "well, it isn't true, and here is a link to an article which shows that this money was obtained legally." But you never get that answer, do you?

If these things were untrue (like the Obama is a Muslim Terrorist thing) they would be easy to debunk. But the Hillary campaign just refuses to answer the questions, PERIOD. Instead we get vague generalities about "leadership" and "experience" and "taking back the Whitehouse".

By the way, Janet, you forgot the $100,000 Hillary made in 10 months with a $1000 investment as a novice commodities trader, the THREE MILLION Vin Guipta paid Bill Clinton, the Peter Paul Million dollar fundraiser, the Rupert Murdoch (FOX NEWS) Million dollar fundraiser, the Norman Hsu dirty money, and so on and so on and so on.

And that's just the stuff you can read about in the NY Times or Washington Post. How many other scams and cons are the Clintons running that we don't know about?

Hillary getting to over $100 million from donors who give the max per person ($2300) is impressive but questions who her base supporters are. I am willing to bet that over half of Hillary's money comes from people making $500,000 a year or more.

This is akin to a corporate CEO arriving in a new Ferrari and a $5,000 suit to adress his or her minimum wage earners, and to thank them for making it a great year for "all of us."

The wealthiest 3% pay about 95% of the taxes–of course they have a huge influence on the way the country is run. If we'd make the apportionment of taxes fairer, the influence of "the wealthy" would be correspondingly decreased.

What is disgusting and distasteful is when a candidates raises 100 million that you know, most of it came from corporations and foreign contributions.

My vote is going to the candidate that I KNOW will not be selling out our country.

If ANYONE truly believes that Clinton and others with that sort of money will NOT be repaying their contributors in some way, they need to get their head out of the sand.

Although I agree with your assessment of the war – and the millions of better uses for those billions of dollars – please don't forget that Senator Clinton was one of the people who bowed to our President's thin arguments and sent us there in the first place.

The real news should come from the Obama campaign. If they've matched it, that will be stunning and will send an extraordinary message given that none of his money has come from lobbyists.
