Joe Biden is the most qualified person to lead this country.

Of course he isn't a superstar candidate who...
-Was a former first lady to the the first two-term Democratic president since FDR.
-A youthful, fresh, extremely charismatic junior senator
-Former vice presidential nominee

And he doesn't have...
-Millions upon millions of dollars raised
-Oprah's support
-A former president backing them
-And most of all, intense coverage by the media, and adequate talking time during debates.

This election would be a hell of a lot different if the media wasn't doing this for ratings. Because let's face it, a woman and a black man running for president is more interesting than some capable, straight-talking, white senator from the tiny state of Delaware. -- I mean, that doesn't make good television, people.

Being a conservative, I am very disappointed with ALL candidates both Republicans and Democrats. And I am not alone. Just read "The American Conservative" magazine ( http://www.amconmag.com/ ).
Current Republican and Democrats are "GOOD COP/ BAD COP" situation for America. I agree with Al Bundy, who said: "Whoever you choose - you choose the wrong one!". ;-)

It is not big deal for hillary to think Musharaf is running for parliamentary election. Many of Americans do not know much about international issues and are not interested. The thing is Media are partial they always potray good side of hillary but not the other side.Hillary is naive and to think she will be a president is absurd. This is a woman who stick to his husband not because of love(since Bill has hot pants)she sticks to him for the sake of becoming president. She is desperate and she will say anything to be elected.Am fed up when he blames everything on bush, has she forgotten about the messy his husband caused in this country?

Have you noticed that political ticker items about other candidates generate maybe 50-100 postings, but anything that even tangentially mentions Hillary generates 500 or more?

And most of them negative.

There are a lot of people out there who hate Hillary. You can say this is right or wrong or whatever, but these are folks who are not going to change their mind, and feel very strongly so they are quite likely to vote.

Accoridng to polls about 50% of the country falls into the "Hillary Hater" category ("who would you NEVER vote for President of the United States?")

So we are not talking about some fringe "Rush is Right" minority of people here. We are talking Republicans, Democrats, Independents, you name it. The folks who dislike Hillary cross party lines. Hillary can unite America - in the hatred of her!

(And who says we don't have bi-partisanship in this country?)

If Hillay wins the nomination, she will have to get every single non-Hillary hater to vote for her, in order to win. That means no fence-sitters or people who feel neutral about her but prefer another candidate. She has to get ALL THE VOTES of the non-Hillary haters in order to win.

Or, get Bllomberg to run to split the Hillary-hater vote. Frankly, I think this latter scenario is how it is going to play out, and Bloomberg is a willing participant in this farce.

FWIW.

Think of this. Hillary Clinton wins democratic nomination for president. She has chosen Nancy Pelosi as her running mate, and states that they will change the country. Now think of this. Terrorists have overrun the US because Clinton did not heed warnings from the CIA & FBI. She blames this on past President Bush for not letting her know what she was getting into as president. China is now getting ready to move in and take over the US economy because the time is right.
What a scenario? It's possible that this could happen if this ignorant woman is nominated. She would bring this country down quicker than you could bat an eye. With all the donations she has received from China, they would want paybacks, and just like her husband, she would give it to them. He gave them the missle technology; what would she give him? Something to think about. They would probably stay in the Lincoln bedroom for a week or two while figuring out what to give them.
Newsmax is selling Hillary cards. If you want to find out a lot about her, buy them. Or, you could read a couple of truthful books about the Clinton's. (Unrestricted Access by Gary Aldrich or Target by Kathleen Willey) Excellent reads. Or you might want to read Unlimited Warfare by two Chines Colonels, and what Clinton did that was traitorous. No, we don't need her in office. The people in New York need to pull her out of the Senate. She is not to be trusted. Her and Bill has planned this for a long time, and the good people of the US needs to make sure she does not win the presidency. I hope CNN will print this.

Joseph Biden is great on iraq and deserves to be in any cabinet.
But yes, I don't think Hill meant Musharraf was literally up for election.
Thanks Joe for encouraging popular ignorance in a last ditch attempt
to gain traction in Iowa. I'm surprised at you!

"Do we need another Clinton Administration…..hmmm lets see I dont think America can handle no debt and a surplus of money and high employment rates and oh yeah a stable economy, and lets not forget the way Clinton blatantly had good relations and standings in almost every country around the world. America cant handle responsibility to its country like that. We need to make sure that we bring Change, yeah thats it Change. HAHAHA."

Hey Joe - Clinton only got those things because we had a strong Republican named RONALD REGAN in office for 8 years before Clinton. All of that stuff you mentioned was RONALD REGAN's work that Bill Clinton inherited. Clinton did none of it himself. In fact, he worked hard to give alot of it away through things like, oh NAFTA, H-1, and L-1. Give credit where its due, and credit is not due Bill Clinton for any of that, it was all handed to him because of the work of RONALD REGAN.

Hillary used to sit on the board of Wal-mart. How could she count that as experience? Her true experience is starting to show now. The NY Times is right Hillary isn't all that experienced went it counts. I have yet to see anyone name something that qualifies Hillary for the job. She voted for the war in Iraq and won't call that a mistake. Takes millions in lobbyist money. Has a MANDATORY health care plan. I don't see how anyone could even consider her with so many better options running. As an Iowan caucus goer I sincerely question her understanding of what experience really is. I'll be standing for the only leader who talks about working with Republicans to end the gridlock. The only leader who can garner Republican and Independent votes which we all know is a must to win the general election. The only leader that was right about Iraq. And the only leader who is free of both lobbyist and special interest groups, Obama '08.

CNN's silence on this issue, despite the fact that this is the busiest blog post on CNN's Political Ticker, is deafening. The amount of support I am seeing here for Biden and negative sentiment toward Hillary is really shocking and pleasantly surprising.

I, for one, would love to see Biden make it past Iowa. He lends tremendous value to the Democratic discussion and it would be a serious waste of his talent.

Shame on CNN and MSNBC for leaving Biden, Dodd, and Richardson in the cold.

SHAME!

Actually, since it is already 1/3/08 on the east coast I will say: To all Iowan's standing for Joe Biden tonight, thank you. And, please know that there are many of us who are standing with you all around the country (& the world). You can be proud to be standing for the greatest candidate both parties have to offer. Again, thank you

With this gaffe Hillary has blown her chances of being Barack's VP. He needs someone who knows what they are talking about. Maybe a Obama/Biden ticket?

I am a Canadian that has always taken deep interest in USA politics.
I love it when I hear people running for office talk about the un protected border between Canada and the USA, the question for me is as Canadians should we be the ones concerned about the border.
I find it interesting that when Canada said no to Iraq because we all knew that the problem was not their, we became the bad guys to the American Politician. I wonder how many everyday Americans wish that maybe Bush would have listened to us, instead of saying that Britian was now the USA best friend.
Afganistan, different story-Canada has its troops fighting combat missions with the USA and others and this is an action warrented. I do notice that everytime a Canadian dies in that mission, your news agency CNN says a coalition force member died(really it should say a Canadian Soldier) we are after all the ones fighting in the most dangerious region. I would expect our news to report that an American Soldier has passed, not a coalition force.
I pride myself knowing that the majority of Canadians know the differance between Iran and Iraq, know what elections are happening in countries around the world and the fact that starting in grade 3 you begin to learn this information about the world.
I find it disheartening when I hear the people running for your highest office make blunders about other countries, considering everyone around the world hears about it.
I also find it disheartening that you have over 310 000 000 people in your country and it takes less than .ooo5 percent of them to give the second best country in the world a black eye.
Canada takes a lot of crap from American Big Business and Lobby Groups, Canada takes a lot of crap from the Politicians when something goes wrong in the USA and they start saying it is Canadas fault. Every time proven wrong, however the American people are never told.
Canadas fault is that we do not stand in the lime light and say look at all this good we did, however I also believe that that is what makes us Canada.

I hope your elections go well, I know you will all vote for who you feel best represents your interest.

Signed a Proud Canadian, Proud to border the USA.

On another note: I believe that tolerance and understanding is key to a good foriegn policy. As Canadians we prided ourselves with it, I only fear now that our reputation for it has been tarnished a little.

With all the negative campaigning coming out, after all the candidates have gone on record stating how much they hate it, can we then assume that if any of them are elected, they will continue this two faced approach? UGH! Try to imagine....an honest politician, fighting for the middle class, putting their own ambitions aside, ahhhhhhhhhhhh only at Disney World!

What really surprises me is that some of you are making comments about how right Joe is followed by an "Obama in 08!" tag line. What?

Joe has proven over and over what a great leader he is what an understanding of foreign policy he has and the ability to bring people together from across the isle.

Joe has the ONLY plan to get out of Iraq with bipartisan support.

I work in politics in Iowa. I've met all the candidates. Joe is the most real and sincere. Hillary is nice and very personable, but for me is just too polarizing for me to rally behind, though I will if she is the nominee.

But for me, I'm caucusing for Joe Biden. Because JOE IS RIGHT!

A new chapter is about to be writ'ten, Obama will be elected by an appeal to
all that represents a quantum leap in human consciousness. He represents
that rare gift of courage and a heart for the people. We respond to his decency
and vision which says a lot about where we are at and now ready for.

Most encouraging and exciting!

Rock the nation and the world!

After reading through all these notes, I'm a bit disgusted with the rhetoric from most. First of all, Joe Biden is intelligent, knowledgeable, experienced, and respected by members from both sides of the aisle. There is not another person running, from any party, that can pull off a bi-partisan decision or resolution like he can.

Secondly, Joe Biden has both the domestic AND the foreign policy experience we MUST have in this global world. When some of you speak as if Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, etc. don’t matter, I know you are not looking at the big picture. Now more than ever, we must come to the realization that the world does not start and stop at the East and West coasts!

And lastly, there is no way Joe Biden should be vice president. Why in the world would anyone want to lose his experience and ability in working for us? He has much more to offer than being an ambassador-for-the-president.

He has the fierceness, ability, wisdom, and experience we need for America.

It's naive to think you can change the world by inflicting your will upon it. Wether you think you "understand" the situation on the ground or not. Liberals won't be able to "fix" our foreign policy or maintain the American world empire by throwing money at it because there won't be money available without creating it out of thin air which means your getting both taxed and robbed to pay for another countries "security"!?!

20 plus years of a Bush/Clinton dynasty???? Are you out of your mind?

Failed policy, failed policy, more failed policy, followed by even more failed policy

RESTORE THE CONSTITUTION!!! RON PAUL rEVOLution!!!

BIDEN 2008

PLEASE USE YOUR HEADS WHEN YOU VOTE......... THIS MAY BE THE MOST IMPORTANT ELECTION YOU HAV E EVER VOTED IN. WE CANNOT ELECT ANOTHER GEORGE W. BUSH, WHO FOOLED US INTO THINKING HE WAS THE MAN. HE MIGHT HAVE BEEN OK IF 9-11 HAD NOT OCCURRED, BUT WE STILL FACE SIMILARS, NEEDING SOMEONE WHO IS CAPABLE OF HANDLING WHAT IS TO COME. THIS REQUIRES HANDS-ON VAST EXPERIENCE, INTELLIGENCE, WISDOM, DIPLOMACY, PRESIDENTIAL PRESENSE AND NO NEED TO BE A MILLIONAIRE. TO ELECT A PRESIDENT BASED ON HIS MEDIA POPULARIATY, IS FOOLISH. DON'T LET THE MEDIA DO THAT TO US...

It is encouraging to me that so many of you checked on what Joe Biden had said.

I note that from what you say, not many of you follow politics closely due to so many mis-statements. I will say that I havefollowed Biden for a number of years on C-Span and the like. I also bought and read Joe Biden's book, so I am pretty well informed about him.

It is not my intention to run down any of the candidates. I will say that I was surprised at how many seem to see through Hillary Clinton. She is not my idea of a person with vast experience to run this great country. Intelligent, yes, but I see her as the great pretender so she and Bill can return to The Whitehouse with all tthe perks when her term is over.....or double bonus.

I have lots to say but CNN won't allow me to say it, so I have shortened my piece considerably. I hope this passes their muster. I've seen a considerable amount which they allowed to pass......... hmmmm????

Oh dear..........as I read though this huge list. of blogs, I am only thankful that some of the idiots who write on here are not running for president. I do find it interesting as to how many see through Hillary, but I hope that carries to the caucuses. As Andrew Young said, "Obama is too young, not seasoned enough and should run in 2016. ' The only candidate who truly qualiflles to be our next president is Joe Biden. He has more wisdom, knowledge , experience and intelligence than the whole bunch on either side. To the guy who said Obama is the best educated, do you have any idea how many college graduates are just that....nothing else. A degree from Harvard does not qualify one to be president of this country. Yes, it shows intelligence, but enormous experience in this area is a must. Too, I think it is disgraceful that one of you referred to Biden as a "dolt.". He is so far above you that you can't even touch him.......... Go back to school and learn some manners.

I wonder how many of these blogs come from those who truly follow politics. Looks like many of you only want to say whatever comes to mind with very little knowledge and often, very little education. How one writes tells a great deal about their opinion. If you never learned that, don't write. Many of you will be voting in the election in November, so I hope you have done some homework before you check that ballot. Biden 2008

PS: Please not that I didn't run any of the Republicans into the ground. I was one for many years, but the Bush years lost me as a Republican........

PS: Please not that I didn't run any of the Republicans into the ground. I was one for many years, but the Bush years lost me as a Republican........

Gosh, how totally (yawn) surprising...

Is it any wonder this woman won't take or answer questions? Or trust her daughter to do so, even when they come from a nine-year-old?

Sadly, this isn't the first time arrogance and ambition have been mistaken for competence and ability, and it won't be the last.

Biden is my favorite candidate, he's the most knowlegable on domestic and foreign issues. Biden always stands out in the debates as the most Presidential. Biden also can bring in moderate ( both parties) voters and independent voters. Biden also the only Democratic candidate who can win any debate against the Republicans on ( The War, National security, and the moral issues) Most important, he is respected by both partys and that will give us a chance to be united as a country once again.

Sillary is a hatchet man period. She does the dirty work for Bill, e.g. killing Vince Foster, taking out the bimbos , and other capo work. She hasn't a clue about history, world political strategy, or anything else not connected to eliminating opponents. She slaps around the Blitzers of the media because they are rightly afraid of her. Can there be enough Kool-Aid drinking dems to elect her?

why doesn't this get more attention?

Neither as a supporter or as an antagonist for Biden or Clinton, it seems to me that when a leading candidate not only fails to keep an eye on something that creates anxiety but flops on the most essential and central element of their campaign, that this deserves more than a 10pt. font-size link on the Politics page. This is important.

There are supporters of HRC commenting here that sadly describe her foreign policy inexperience as secondary to her perceived ability to lead from within. This argument would have been valid in 1800's and early 1900's, but in a post-WWII world, it's foolish to believe that foreign policy and domestic policy aren't two faces of the same body, and absolutely necessary.

Okay, Biden is right! Musharraf did 'win' the last elections for President, but his elected status was under review by the same judges he fired a few weeks back because he felt they were about to rule his election was invalid. (Ironically, the same judge he fired were the ones he hired)!

Had the judges ruled his election was invalid, it would have meant he had to step down as President, creating a vacuum, so he pre-empted them with the emergency rule stroke.

With Bhutto originally set to participate in the parliamentary election for the PRIME MINISTERSHIP, (at the request of Condi Rice) and was likely to win hands down, Musharraf was not comfortable with that outcome. After all, it was he who in 1999 ran Bhutto out of office on corruption charges that also landed her husband (Minister of Investments) in jail while she fled into self-imposed exile in Dubai and London.

Hillary did make a political gaffe that could come back to haunt her since she has been claiming she has all the experience. She may do well domestically, like Bill, but I think she is going to sink on the foreign affairs front. Bill didn't do well there either.

Hey,

She has foreign policy experience!
She never said she has knowledge and wisdom.

Am reminded of a soldier who was at Dunkirk at the outbreak of WW II.
He had experience -- but it was only relevant in knowing the bitter taste of retreat.

So give her a break!

The problem HRC has is her campaign stands for nothing. Obama stands for change and Edwards stands for helping the lower and middle classes.
The only point HRC seems to make is she should be President because she is entitled to the position. She feels entitled to the Presidency by the fact that she lived in the White House and wants to move back into the mansion and have the privileges that come with living there once again for eight more years. Needless to say the public and electorate could care less about indulging her standard of housing and ego needs.

is the media trying to stay out of this one?
since they ruined Howard Dean by replaying the Dean scream without back ground noise over and over and over again
Making him look crazy>..
the 24 hour news networks have more power then they need to
but i agree they need to try to bring some independant balance to what politicians say and what is closer to the truth..... shouldn't they?
and i do mean to all parties no partisan favorites
just some work for the truth unbais truth

Aa a gay American who has lots and lots of gay friends, I support Hillary and what she said about the pakistan thing. Who cares anyway? Even my one straight friend who fixes my apartment roof likes her because she's soooooo smart and cares about children. She only wants the best for the world and who are we to question her? Huh?? My second choice is John Edwards BECAUSE he's SOOOOOO Cute. What a cutie President he would make. Cute!!!! All the Republicans are icky. They hate gays because we care about America and they hate everything except money and bombs. They even hate the earth because they want global warming. Joe Biden is cute, but take advice and lose the fake hairpiece. Richardson is spooky also. Dennis looks like an elf and I would vote for him if I knew what he was going to do as President.

Iraq is a mess and they need to drop me and a few thousand of my gay friend there to clean and decorate it a little. Too much mauve and sandy stuff around. Needs some color. Hillary know this and she should be President. Period. End of story,Lori. Got it, Rocket?

Aren't you glad that my vote cancels your vote??? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
