(CNN) – Joe Biden is definitely a part of the conversation out in Iowa. Quite honestly, it seems to me that he doesn't have a hard time convincing voters that he is the best candidate for the job - the tough task is convincing folks that he is viable. But his camp seems confident that this is where their large group of legislators and party chairs will bring it home for them. Once they get into those rooms on caucus night, they say, they will see all the others for Biden - and between that and professional organizers doing their thing, they will bring it home to fourth place or higher.

Well, early voting in Florida and guess who was on the ballott! I was presently surprised and put my checkmark next to Biden's name. I don't know if anyone will get the message, but I was saddened to hear he dropped out and would have written him in. I agree with all the posts, Senator Biden has all the qualifications needed to run this country well and more than qualifications, he has the qualities of a leader.

Julie Overvig   January 5th, 2008 3:40 am ET

Biden the best candidate the Democratic party has had in a long time. Experinced, intelligent, straight talking, strongest leader of many bi-partisan passed legislation, strong ideas for change and with intelligent solutions to our problems, we as a nation face. Joe Biden a decent man and candidate who is well respected by all political leaders from this country and abroad.

Joe quit. Nuff said.

I like what I hear from Mr. Biden but I see him as more of a single issue expert. I love his foreign affairs/military knowledge and would love to see him as Secretary of State. I just don't see him as the next President.

HILLARY HAS WORKED HER ADULT LIFE FOR CHILDREN,HEALTH CARE AND THE SENIORS.SHE IS A WELL RESPECTED LEADER IN THE WORLD.
SHE IS BRILLANT.SHE CAN RESTORE OUR COUNTRY BACK TO ITS GREATNESS.

Gloria Whitfield   January 3rd, 2008 9:12 pm ET

It's so good to read the other comments that favor Joe Biden. He is so qualified.
Every time I hear him, I'm impressed. Anyone would be better than what we've had but I would so like to see Joe Biden as the Democrat candidate for President.
I guess the money factor is the reason he isn't in the top three in Iowa.
May God lead this nation to choose the person He wants.

Sandy Watts   January 3rd, 2008 9:09 pm ET

David Brooks ( NYT ) commented tonight on Lehrer News Hour that Joe Biden has run a great campaign and that the media has a responsibility for denying Biden, Dodd and Richardson adequate coverage, focusing on their two or three chosen 'interesting story' candidates.
I have the ultimate respect for Sen. Biden – and believe he would be an incredibly effective and talented President. Here in Atlanta, a conservative area, I have witnessed he has a great deal of bipartisan respect.

Walter   January 3rd, 2008 9:05 pm ET

With regards to Biden, he has established himself quite well in the 1990's and 2000's; however, it almost seems forgotten his past in plaigarizing speeches as an elected official and work in law school. It can be a quickly exposed return to trust issues that marginal voters had with Clinton (and de facto) with the Democratic Party.

Jim Caffrey   January 3rd, 2008 8:52 pm ET

Joe is the most qualified. I think he'll beat expections.

Pete from FLA   January 3rd, 2008 8:43 pm ET

I believe that Joe Biden is the best person for the job of President. I'm not sure why he hasn't received the attention of the American public.

Bill Culver, Covington,LA   January 3rd, 2008 8:42 pm ET

God save America form that Brazile woman and Joe Biden

Shawn Pischel   January 3rd, 2008 8:41 pm ET

Hopefully Senator Biden will pull through to at least a top 2 or 3 finish. He brings everything this country would need to the office of the presidency.

I get tired of hearing about Hillary's "experience". I wouldn't consider her being first lady for 8 years as experience. Joe Biden has had an exceptional record in the senate for 35 years and he is the only choice on either side.

Biden will bring both sides of the aisle together and get this country back to prosperity!

Tony Wong   January 3rd, 2008 8:38 pm ET

Joe is not only the most qualified but he is the only one with the experince, knowledge, and respect that can help the U.S. to begin to REGAIN the respect of the WORLD. The respect thet this current administration has squandered. He is the only one that can sit down and have meaningful negotiations with the world's leaders
VOTE JOE TO REGAIN THE WORLD'S RESPECT

This is encouraging news. It's been very frustrating for me as a Biden supporter when his great debate performances and positive press aren't reflected in his poll numbers. I think he's the most qualified candidate for the job, and I hope after tonight he gets the momentum he needs to break into the first tier.

Bill Duggan   January 3rd, 2008 8:32 pm ET

I've become a little biased...my son went to work for the Senator's campaign a few months ago...but at every debate it seems we hear the other people constantly saying things like "joe's right" about just about every major issue. So many pundits have said what an intelligent and ethical Secretary of State he would make because of his grasp of global issues and the respect that he garners from leaders throughout the world......just the qualities we need for a President.
It took me a while to get over all of the media hype and talk of the "inevitability" of one of the top 3 becoming the nominee, but I am now solidly in Sen Biden's camp. He can pull it off if the media and the public start to really listen and pay attention to his vision for America.

George from PA   January 3rd, 2008 8:32 pm ET

I don't know about you, but I have had enough of the Bushes and Clintons. And, I'm tired of all the media hype and the way they take it upon themselves to pre-select two or three candidates for us to choose from. It's all in an effort to turn these candidates into political celebrities so that we'll keep coming back to the media for latest gossip in order to boost their ratings. This is not what we need right now.

We need a real leader, with the experience and the intelligence to get the job done. That's who I'm looking for. And for me, the only person I see from either side is Joe Biden. I feel he would really turn this country around. We've got major problems and we need them fixed. It isn't about being sexy or putting on a show for the media... it's about the boring details of getting the job done. For God's sake, let's put someone in office who can get it done.

Brian Shaud   January 3rd, 2008 8:29 pm ET

Senator Biden has IT ALL. He has the experience needed to be President in this ever dangerous world, he actually understands what is happening around the world and he certainly would not be one of those Presidents who needs an aide in his ear telling him the names of foreign leaders. Senator Biden also is the only candidate in either party with a plan for Iraq which can both lead to success and bring out troops home. Check it out: planforiraq.com

I really hope the American people (Iowans and New Hampshirians) get it right. Senator Joe Biden is exactly what America needs.

God bless America, God bless our troops, and God bless Joe Biden.

cliftnote   January 3rd, 2008 8:28 pm ET

Biden, along with John Edwards, may be the only Democrats that would have a chance in the general election. It's sad that more Democrats aren't paying attention to the former. All candidates have their faults, but it will be harder for the Republicans to use smear tactics against Joe Biden.

Patrick, New Smyrna Beach, FL   January 3rd, 2008 8:27 pm ET

Two votes for Joe in my house - my wife and I. But we live in Florida, so that could equal anywhere from zero to five votes... Eh, it's worth a shot.

G   January 3rd, 2008 8:26 pm ET

BIDEN THINKS WE CAN TELL IRAQ, A SOVEREIGN COUNTRY TO DIVIDE
INTO 3 PARTS. HE HAS NOT LEARNED ANYTHING FROM THE MEDDLING
WE'VE ALREADY DONE ALL OVER THE WORLD. NO ONE TRUSTS US AND
WHO CAN BLAME THEM. WE HAVE AGGRESSIVE BULLY POLICIES.
VOTE FOR RON PAUL. HE HAS THE WISDOM OF OUR FOUNDING FATHERS..
NO FOREIGN ENTANGLEMENTS. TRADE AND DIPLOMACY AND NEUTRALITY.

Frank, N.C.   January 3rd, 2008 8:26 pm ET

I'm not sure if Biden will make it, although he is probably the only democratic candidate that could stand even a half of a chance of defeating a republican!

Alex Cohen   January 3rd, 2008 8:24 pm ET

I definitely agree that Biden is the most suited to become President but he had his chance before and he messed it up. Hopefully one of the other candidates will have the insight to choose him as a running mate but if not, I firmly believe that he will be Secretary of State.

Craig Brown   January 3rd, 2008 8:18 pm ET

Biden has experience, and he isn't a polorizing figure like Hillary. Biden is the Democratic Party''s best choice.

Jeff Isenberg   January 3rd, 2008 8:09 pm ET

Joe Biden has the most experience and is the most substantive candidate on both sides of the aisle. Beyond that, he is honest and straightforward. Americans have been yearning for a president like him for decades and now they have a chance of making this happen. Let's hope Biden's candidacy can move beyond whether the pundits and, in turn, the electorate believe he has a legitimate shot at winning. For once let's do the right thing and elect Joe Biden as the next president of the United States.

Dee Ward Mena, AR   January 3rd, 2008 8:01 pm ET

JOe Biden is probably the best qualified for the job as President. I don't think he will make it since people aren't really interested in who is best qualified.

Ryan McCarthy   January 3rd, 2008 8:01 pm ET

I agree with you. I hope Biden has a good showing so he can shake up the race a little more.
