theroy and lets go with the obvious, of the two parties people have seen that the republican party has really dropped the ball and the democrats acting as if " when they get the chance things will be better" have not got much done but that is because democrats could not get enough republicans to jump on the band wagon to get enough power to over ride the presidents veto. That being said the democrats have at least tried to make a change and thats a big reason why i am and have stayed with the democratic party. So of the democratic hopefuls we have primarily three front runners edwards, obama, clinton two of the three are runnning on the principle of change which leaves Hillary Clinton. As a country we have had politicians constantly balk about change and what they are going to do this has gone on forever. Fact is i would rather have a person who has had years of experience doing what the others can only wish they that they could say the same. Im voteing for Hillary.

First we have no choice but to accept the way the political system is. Its going to take years if not decades just to fix the mess bush has left us in. If we get to that point then we can start to work on what to do to fix the political monster we face. If we have not destroyed ourselves when this change comes about and im not talking about big broad steps because its going to have to be a little at a time. Its like this giant tree in your path and there is no way to get around it and the only thing you have to whittle away at it is a hand saw. Anyway being the political choices are what they are and everybody has their arguments about which party and which candidate to chose. Throw out the "HE SAID SHE SAID"

If all you sore heads out there who hate Hillary Clinton would just listen for a change instead of shooting your know-nothing mouths off you just might give her a chance. I think weak men are so scared of stong women that the only way they can stand themselves is to critisize women. Hillary Clinton is one of the hardest working women in US Senate. Compare (if you can bear it ) her record with Barak Obama's record. Hillary's work ethic would put most of us to shame. I want someone who can GET IT DONE. We need health care, more jobs, less discrimination, better education. etc. etc. I am so incensed when I read about how Barak Obama is going to change things. That's exactly what our current President mouthed before he stole the Election with some help from Daddy and the Power Brokers in the GOP. Barak Obama may be sincere and well meaning, however he knows zilch about how things get changed in DC. Please, for God's sake are we going to elect another "pretty face with little experience" again? Look what a wonderful mess we are in now due to George Bush's mistakes too numerous to count.

Sorry, Huckabee and Romney will split the GOP, assuring a win for the Democrats. It's time for the Republicans to rally behind a true conservative that we can all support. Too many people are saying they will not vote if Huckabee or Romney are nominated. Oh, and you only know about his stance on immigration and China because he has virtually been ignored in the debates. Check out his stance on the issues at www.gohunter08.com

HANG IN THERE DUNCAN, Back on 27 January '07 in Fountain Hills, Arizona I suggested you were the person for the presidency. They told me you had problems. A week later I e-mailed them and suggested I understood your problem: You are a Republican, We need more of your kind. Thank you for all your service and the service of your family, I also am a former Marine, circa 1945.

Iowa was a one time deal for Huck. According to CNN's entrance polls, 60% of voters were evangelical christians...a snapshot of voters in America? Doubt it. Absolutely no Pro-war Republican will win the election.

THANKS ANNMARIE!!!

YOU GIVE US THE REASONS NOT TO VOTE FOR THIS FOOL!!!

Have a good day!!

I submit that Republicans, evangelicals, conservatives and residents of southern states ought to thank God for someone with a track record like Rep. Duncan Hunter (see below). We should stop feeding on what the media decides is fit for us to consume, stop guessing whom everyone else will vote for, think for ourselves and vote for him.

ninja -- The GOP are masters at "stealing" Presidential races. I'm just waiting for Romney to start the push polling/robo calling to GOP voters about Huckabee fathering a black baby to get them into his camp (just like that lovely "Christian" Bush and his buddy Rove did to McCain in 2000). I think the masters of slime are getting ready to ramp up -- Huckabee better hold on -- I don't think Chuck Norris can save him from the GOP tactics to come.

Annamarie,
Hunter and most of the GOP politicians in this country wouldn't know a Christian value if it knocked them upside the head. Get a grip!

I beg to differ with those who said Hunter couldn't be elected mayor of San Diego -- he couldn't be elected dog catcher (although he would probably be good at shooting strays).

Perhaps we can elect someone to LEAD the country for a change -- I think we've had our fill of voting for a President because he's the person we'd most like to have a beer with.

The GOP will have provided us with 8 years of the WORST President ever and the WORST Administration ever and if any of you think we are safer because of Bush and his policies, then please send the heavy-duty drugs you are using my way so I can float off into "delusion land" too.

Huckabee is a liberal. Please do your homework. High taxes, state paid for tuition for illegal aliens! He isn't even supported by his own home state. (they endorsed Thompson) He asked for embargoes to end against Cuba.
The fact that he is a Christian is great, but he doesn't even have his degree in Theology (he dropped out). Don't be duped.
Even the Dems want him to get nominated, because they feel he is easy to pick off.
He is selling "Jimmy Carter" folksey. Iowa doesn't set the tone for the Nation (ask President Kerry, Dean and Gore). South Carolina is a much better gage.
Romney, same (changed his mind on abortion, come on!)
McCain-one word "Amnesty", please!
The only real conservative candidates are Duncan and Thompson.
Now ask yourself, who do think the Democrats ( the press) and our enemies, don't want, who worries Clinton (who will get the nom.) because he would tear her apart.
The answer is simple...Fred Thompson.

Hunter's better than most not bringing in enough money to be totally bought off. It's just not his time. If anyone but Ron Paul is elected and the nafta superhighway comes to fruition then Hunter may be able to actually get in the spot light with his proposed opposition. Since it looks as if Dems are hungry to steal this one this year then expect to see Hunter again in 2012. Right now though, he is naive thinking he can stick to his guns and still play ball with the neocons. Go home, brush up on your Constitution and check in on us in a few years. Just be careful who you take money from, cuz we are watching.

Annamarie,
Hunter was the only A because he was the ONLY one that answered the questions. Hardly a ringing endorsement.

Hunter couldn't get elected mayor of San Diego

But I guarantee his son will be elected to fill his seat.

Duncan Hunter is either not connected to reality or just continues to show poor judgement. Maybe Hunter just has a large ego that he won't allow him to quit even though his has virtually no chance of winning the Republican nomination. Hunter needs to do the Republican party a favor and drop out. If Biden and Dodd are sensible to do this on the Democratic side and enjoyed more support than Hunter, Hunter should be capable of making the connection and go 'Bye-Bye".

It's truly sad that with illegal immigration being an important issue for the country, at least according to Republican voters, the only candidates that has actually DONE something about securing the border gets 1% of the vote.

Also, the GOP claims to be the party that is suited to win the War on Terror, yet they ignore Hunter who has actually fought in a war, and whose son has served 3 tours in the WOT.

I guess it is his last hurrah since he is going to retire from Congress no matter what. I do have to wonder how is he going to do all the necessary campaigning without money or support. I doubt that he could even make the short list of possible V.P. candidates no matter who is nominated.

This guy has one subject that he really focuses on -- China and their trade practices with a side of illegal immigration. There was little that I could note in the debates that really went beyond that. I'd be surprised if there was any more mention of him in the most of the media outlets.

Wendel Bauman, If Mike Huckabee is the nominee, then there is no chance of the Republican Party getting behind him; the Social Conservatives and the Neo-Conservatives will quickly learn that Us Fiscal Conservatives must have a candidate that reflects our values as well as theirs, because if Huckabee gets the nomination, Fiscal Conservatives will turn on the party in Droves

Smart move to drop out and save what little money you have left.
Congressman Hunter may have built the wall along the San Diego border, but unfortunately has built another separating him from reality. He has less than 5 percent in polls and has been campaigning for literally years.

It's time to give up, Duncan. Go home and tell your grandkids about your days of shooting racoons with bb guns. You might strike more interest with them than you did with voters nationwide, and especially in Iowa.

I think the field is narrowing to Huckabee and Romney for the Republicans. The others will have a hard time overcoming the outcome in Iowa. Iowa is only one state. But, like minds think alike. Huckabee seems more presidential than Hunter who should bow out gracefully now. The Republicans should quickly get behind a single candidate.

Sorry to see Biden pack it in from the Democrats, he was the only one with a Vision for America.
I don't trust Hillary and don't trust Obama,
As Bush would say, I looked him in the Eyes, and I don't like what I see
On the Repuplican Side no surprises,
To bad Hunter was overlooked by the IOWA People
Again he is the Person that would be the best choice for America

Opinion from a Western Canadian
