The CNN Ticker

Clinton is launching her closing argument in New Hampshire.

(CNN) - Tonight, Hillary Clinton made her final two-minute television appeal to New Hampshire voters during the 6 p.m. news, with a spot that stressed experience and promised real change. Full script after the jump.

Thank you New Hampshire, for welcoming me into your homes and hearts.

And when you vote, I hope you'll ask one question. Who's ready to be president on day

one?

America is at a crossroads. We're a nation at war in a dangerous world. We have a

faltering economy, an energy crisis, and 47 million people without health care.

But, after seven long years of this administration, we finally have the opportunity for a

new beginning. Tomorrow, you can take the first step.

After all the town meetings, it comes down to this. Who's ready to be president and ready

to start solving the big challenges we face on day one?

And, we can solve them. We can end the era of cowboy diplomacy and bring our sons

and daughters home from Iraq. We can make a new beginning for our economy and

rebuild our great middle class.

We can reform our government and transform our energy future. We can make a new

beginning on health care, cut costs, improve quality, and cover every American.

I'm not running for president to put band-aids on our problems. I'm running to solve

them.

The stories you've shared will always stay with me. Parents juggling jobs to pay for

college for their kids, soldiers' families praying for a safe return, all the men and women

across this state who have whispered their health care problems to me.

Bills they can't pay, parents they can't afford to care for, insurance companies who refuse

to help. I know you've waited a long time for a president who could hear you and see

you. We're not just changing presidents, we're changing our country.

I hope you'll vote for me and help me change America. And, if you stand with me, I will

stand up for you every day as your president.

I'll work my heart out to bring the country we love the new beginning it needs and I will

be ready to start on day one. Thank you.

I'm Hillary Clinton and I approved this message.

If you see the tv video that show that Obama DID NOT put his right hand on his heart during national anthem!! Do you want him as president by not put his hand on his heart during our national anthem?? Both Richardson and Clinton did put their hand on their chest during it. Obama just stand and do nothing. That tell us who is really American and proud democratic candicates

randy   January 8th, 2008 5:34 pm ET

I am a Clinton supporter. If Obama gets the nomination, I'll vote for McCain and it will be the first time that I've ever voted for a Republican.

Hellery will have Bill to help her when it comes to international relations and aid in making decisions that affect US citizens welfare!

It is my turn to speak again. Everyone bashes Senator Hillary Clinton for her husband for getting a little something on the side. It wasn't her fault. We ought to give her ALOT of credit. To wake up beside him everyday for better or worse. I don't agree with a cheating spouse, but people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones! This country has issues. She will fix them. You did not see her throw him out. She stuck by him. Just as she will stick by her country and hang in there. So what if she cried. She probably knows true stories about the United States that would make anyone cry. We all should cry! Look at what this country has become. George has really messed with America. We have thousands of people dead from 9/11 and now we have thousands of soldiers dead in the Middle East. Edwards is a redneck in the south and Obama is a wannabe racist that has to get help from a billionaire celebrity. Not to mention the other candidates, whoever they are? CNN, and the other media never discuss problems with the other candidates. Very rarely. God help us if we get someone fighting for Africa and not America. Has anyone seen Obama's Church's website? Go to the "About" page. Let's start building and rebuilding schools in America, what the heck are we doing it in other countries. Let's help American children first! If I hear the word "change" one more time I am gonna puke. Get over it already. What are you going to do for AMERICA!!!!!!!!!! Change what? Rename America...Africa? Get some information fellow Americans. I will pray today! We need God to help us now!

It will take another Clinton to fix another Bush's mistake! Go Hillary! GO!

James   January 8th, 2008 1:55 pm ET

Ladies, the likes of Jodi/NY, JV, Tabitha: What has experience garnered the People during the past 20-years from the supposed experienced-politicians? I do not want anyone with experience representing me in Congress and the Executive.at this time The experience of entrenched politicians is responsible for the rampant corruption that exists in my Government . Their experience has nearly doomed the middle-class of America to the benefit of the ultra-rich. Their greed and their comfort-food, Corporations and PAC's have made our Country hated and disrespected by the world. The Country needs to regurgitated experience and soak up the reinvigoration of fresh-idea's and new-names. Hillary Clinton is apart of the experience that has crippled this Country for the past two-decades. On too greener pastures!

carol   January 8th, 2008 1:45 pm ET

Robert – I would never vote for someone who represents one of the most bigoted group of people on earth under the guise of religion. Sorry, it doesn't look like you will be owning a piece of the rock in Florida until Hillary has time to fix the economy and everything else the Bush team messed up.

Jodi in New York   January 8th, 2008 1:09 pm ET

I am very worried about the state of this country. This country put Bush in for 2 terms and now look at us! We are the laughing stock of the world and we need someont now that can turn us back. Hillary Clinton has the connections all over the world, she is well respected. Hillary has a great track record in New York as a senator. This election is so important the future for my kids at stake here.
Hillary has the experience and the connections to start making things better.
Who here has ever had things better than when the Clinton's were in The White house???????

robert   January 8th, 2008 1:02 pm ET

sorry about the spelling I am french canadian and soory to see you falling for a preacher but if he win MY money will go further maybe be able to afford a house in florida because I think your money will plunge

JV   January 8th, 2008 12:49 pm ET

Hillary is the most experienced and the most capable candidate.
Please check her record! Do your homework! The outcome is too important!

tabitha   January 8th, 2008 12:43 pm ET

Its time you people wake up and smell the coffee! Hillary is very intelligent woman who the repulicans know will give them a run for their money. If Borak wins most americans will vote for a repulican candidate. Imagine Borack in the white house! In this lifetime there will never be a black rookie president ! We are not in South Africa. All I have had is change and no specifeics from Borack. When we hire someone to be president at this point in the USA; We dont want on the job training but someone who has been tested and has experience. I don't have to like that person. Most of my bosses have been asses anyway but they got their jobs done. Go Hillary!

carol   January 8th, 2008 12:38 pm ET

Bill – obviously you are unaware that George W was in charge of national security on 9/11, but we must take into consideration that the congress was on a well deserved vacation from bashing the Clinton's for 8 years trying to find out if he was having consentual sex. Makes you wonder why they weren't instead trying to find out what Bin Laden was up to. And of course, Bush needed his much month long vacation from all of his other 4 day weekends. You need to wake up and smell the garbage.

James   January 8th, 2008 12:35 pm ET

Bush! Clinton! The nation is sick of these political dynasties and their hypocrites and their transgressions which they have perpetrated upon our citizens for 20-years. Both the Bush's and the Clinton's, the males, have wrecked our country. Clinton had a good thing going until he couldn't keep his zipper closed and then compounded his bad judgement with the worst North American trade agreement in the Nations history -NAFTA.- Then came GWB who gave us nothing but a needless war; a total disregard of the Constitution and its protections; and, trade agreements which have poisoned our children, our food and our pets, all for the enrichment of Corporations and a Communist government that still aims at crushing our Nation. I'm sorry for Hillary but rightly she is apart of these dynasties that have caused probable irreparable damage our Nation's treasury and reputation. Let's purge these families from our memory!

sarah   January 8th, 2008 12:28 pm ET

Gooooo Hilary!!!!

I left my Kerry/Edwards bumper sticker on my car since 2004, but on Saturday (after watching Edwards "attack" (which is all he seems to know how to do), Hillary on the debate, I removed it. I don't want to be, in any way, ever identified with Edwards. We don't need a president who is so angry and polarizing as he is --he doesn't have a clue on how to begin building non-partisan relationships. All he knows how to do is attack, attack, attack..... and try to ride on the coat tails of Obama because he has nothing but negativity to offer on his own. Having the opportunity to further observe Edwards during this campaign, I wouldn't vote for him if he was the last man on earth.

As far as Obama, he's all talk and no substance. What does he have to show for the time he has spent as a Senator or before being a Senator that supports that he has been an "agent of change" ? Polls among African Fmericans show that the reason that he has not been supported by African Americans is because he doesn't address/has never addressed the issues of concern to African Americans. Wake up America!

I have never voted Republican in my entire life but as one of the previous people noted, if the choice is Obama, I will vote Republican, for McCain, before I would vote for someone with no experience whatsoever to be President during such a critical time in our history.

carol   January 8th, 2008 12:26 pm ET

Let's face it – many adult males can't stand the notion of a woman who is likely smarter, better educated, and more successful than they are.

It's funny to see how some adult males turn into emasculated little boys at the notion of having Hillary in charge....

They say that some adult males (they don't deserve the prestige of being called MEN) feel like they're reverting to 'child' status if they're confronted with a strong woman- these previous comments could provide support to that!

When confronted with a strong woman, out they come with the 'neener neener /wedgie' communication style....Gee, that's really adult, BOYS....

Put on your big boy pants and GROW UP!

Hillary has done NOTHING for New York except name a few post offices. This woman went to N.Y. so she could run for president. Her whole life has been one scheme to get to the white house. Half the postings in these blogs are from Hillary supporters.
The woman is a pathological liar as is her husband, who she only stayed with for the political gain.

Finally a chance for real change not more lies and spin from the Clintons.

It's amazing that Hillary always talks about her VAST experience? What experience? Having tea and cookies with the spouse of a world leader does not constitute experience.

Please, Hillary is a leftist fraud. Everything is about her...America and our welfare is a distant second.

Mark R. Fort Lauderdale FL   January 8th, 2008 11:19 am ET

Well, I still hope that Obama and Clinton end up on the ticket together, although it doesn't look like it's going to be in the order that I wanted. The Clinton years were a prosperous time in this country's history, when we could be proud of ourselves as a nation. If Clinton can't guide us nack to that as president, then I hope she can at least have some influence as vice-president.

Cindy   January 8th, 2008 11:18 am ET

To Dan in Seattle who said "...I wish her well. She is not my candidate of choice. I don't buy her experience argument (7 years in Senate vs. 4 for Obama + he has 12 years in the state legislature)...)

Point of correction, Obama does not have 4 years in the Senate - He was only elected in 2004 – so he has 3 years as of January 2008 (he was sworn in January 2005). Also, he was in the Illinois Senate beginning in 1996 until he was elected to the U.S. Senate. Therefore he could not have been a State Senature for 12 years - its more like 8. Just to keep the record straight.

It is time to change American politics. The Clintons have had their day and it was a good. There is nothing more powerful than an idea who time has come. Its not about Barack its about what he stands for that is uniting the people in Iowa and New Hamspire. The last Presidential election we voted out of fear and ended up with George W. Bush and now we are entangled in what may be the worst war in US history.

***We need a new voice in Washington-The American People***

Vijay, Ohio   January 8th, 2008 10:03 am ET

I believe, Hillary is by far the best presidential candidate among Democrats. She has great experience and will to make a difference. When Bill Clinton left Whitehouse, our national debt was about 4.5 trillion $s. Now after 7 long years of Bush presidency, today our national debt is 9 trillion $s. We are screwed overall in Global economy.

I strongly believe, Hillary will make a difference, turning our economy. Go Hillary!

Why do women keep playing the sex girl.. "come back girl"

Ok I'm black and I don't sit around saying "c'mon brother"

I really hope ppl are voting for her just because she's a woman..it seemed like the last debate she played that card.

Larry   January 8th, 2008 9:22 am ET

If I live in New Hamsphere and If am an American, I will vote for Hillary. She is the best candidate out of the 3 leading candidates of the Democrat ic Party. Ill pick her for experience and capability of change. Barak Obama flip flops on issues specially in Iraq war, Economy, Insurance, etc. He does not have strong points except how to manipulate words and sentences. I think, it will be a tragedy to vote for Obama because of his lack of experience and lack of knowlege in issuess. Just look closely in the debate and townhall meetings. I will think several times, even a million times before voting Obama, I would go with Hillary. Even though, Im from Canada, I still believe whatever happens in the United States, affects me just like the rest of the world. Look at Benazir Bhutto, she is the 1st female prime minister, Corazon Aquino – 1st female democratic president, so its time to vote for the 1st female president of the United States of America and the Leader Free World.

patrizia   January 8th, 2008 9:22 am ET

Glad to see some positive comments on Senator Clinton finally. I am european and have been very distressed about the hatred sent her way by some of you bloggers. I can only mention the welcoming crowds on the streets that both herself and President Clinton still get in every european city when they travel over here – exactly the opposite of the President Bush's visits!
She is respected this side of the world and I have no doubt having her back in the White House will restore the image of the US in the world.
I believe she will be a brilliant President. New Hampshire vote for her today!
Hillary 08!

Hillary is by far the best candidate for President. Everyone is acting like Obama is the next President because he won in Iowa. Why? One small state at the very beginning of the election process. Just wait until February 5th. She will be the nominee and will become the next Presdent. Don't let the media fool you.
Get out and vote! Hillary 08!

reil   January 8th, 2008 6:04 am ET

Republicans wanted Obama to win the nomination, the reason is they can easily win against Obama in the final showdown. They will attack him with a barrage of political smear that Obama can't handle due to his credentials as a newbie. Just for a thought are the Republicans using the independents in the primaries to get rid of Clinton? Remember this fight is for the Democrat and Republican Presidency.

Anne   January 8th, 2008 5:59 am ET

I'm not from the US but have been following the action. Unfortunatley Hillary started attacking her competition when she started loosing support, instead of informing the voters about what she stands for. This will only make her position worse. Who wants a President who passes the buck or get emotional whenever things get tough, she comes accross as a spoilt child who cannot get her way. I'm a woman, but I think this job is too big for a woman, maybe sometime in the future, sorry Hillary, but in your live time.

aprilemillo   January 8th, 2008 5:53 am ET

the press is annointing who is winning....has nothing to do with change or truth or anything. They don't want Hillary to get a fair chance.....and that is the tragedy of this race.
Obama is unseasoned and not ready with anything other than a pretty turn of phrase. Oprah thinks she can elect a president......."and you get a president" and "you get a president..." she must think it is a car or something. He has bussiness being in this race. Hillary all the way for me.

Linda, Kansas City, MO   January 8th, 2008 5:48 am ET

I never wanted to vote for Hillary because I'm a moderate (not Democratic or Republican). But I have to say that I KNOW for sure that the reason she keeps getting trashed is because she is a woman. I'm sick of this countries treatment of women. Men trash her because she's a woman and "stupid" women trash her because they have no respect for their own sex or they feel like they have to bow down their husbands. As I've listened to radio shows and read message boards it just confirms how pathetic many Americans are when it comes to this issue.

My 18 year old daughter gets a job and now we have illegal Mexicans (apparently many Mexicans have no respect for women either) harrassing her. I'm sick of being a second class citizen, I'm ready to vote for her to try to finally get some equal rights. I work harder then any man to support my children and myself because I don't have as much financial opportunity, sick of it.

G Morgan   January 8th, 2008 5:41 am ET

Hey Jake!

The reason why you don't see Obama's name in "caps" might
be due to the fact that they would rather not emphasize that his name
is BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA, and he is the son of a Muslim.
Funny how you all deny that truth!

G Morgan   January 8th, 2008 5:33 am ET

Hillary wil be a great President, something we haven't had since
her husband, Bill!
Wake up America and vote for the best qualified candidate, not
the most likeable. This is not a popularity contest. Hillary
Clinton is running for President, not "Miss Congeniality"!!!

Mike Campbell   January 8th, 2008 4:58 am ET

Hillary doesn't need hard, persuasive rhetoric to win this. She cares the most and knows how to do it from day one. I don't know who Obama is but he sounds like a lot of talk just like a lot of past politicians on ego overdrive, flowery language and comebacks.

HVu   January 8th, 2008 4:49 am ET

Do you think Obama can change the USA system?
Did he change anything in the past 2-years as a senator?
He is just about big talk like the W.
The Republican want to challenge OBAMA. I think they afraid of Hillary because she is smarter than most of Republican candidates.

I am sure American hear you well.

lyn   January 8th, 2008 4:39 am ET

heaven help us if Obama wins – cos no other country will!! It is always said women are their own greatest enemies!!! Woman put your silly prejudices aside and let us support our own!! Please vote for Hillary – because she is a woman and can make the USA the best place to live again!!

GeorgiaVoter   January 8th, 2008 4:23 am ET

Kudos to JD!!!!! At least someone else can see right through Hillary Clinton. If Hillary gets the nomination, half the Democrats will switch their vote.

Ken-Caldwell -NJ   January 8th, 2008 4:22 am ET

Wow. I'm just upset that my primary vote won't even matter. :(

I don't know if I am happy Hillary is losing or sad. I think that my mix of emotion when it comes to Mrs. Clinton is pretty common from the other Dems that I talk to. It's a strange thing. But I guess in the end, Hillary would be the most capable for this job, and would be able to solve some of these issues.

Like him or not, Mr. Clinton is beloved across the world, and he could do alot as the "good-will" amb. that everyone is talking about.

Obama is an attractive candidate, but I just don't know that with all that is at stake, that we can afford to have him make rookie mistakes. But then again...who knows, maybe he will do a bang up job, and we will all be lovin the guy.

This election is getting very interesting, and honestly.....a little scary. We get so caught up in our little american bubble, and we sometimes fail to fully grasp the vast array of major major problems in the world that could very well erupt into serious global issues. Not playing the republican fear card, just being realistic. (after all it was the neoconic turkeys that caused this mess to begin with)

I'm nobody, and by no means have any real answers, I just hope that my country votes with their heads. It's a big decision this time around.

ObamaSupporter   January 8th, 2008 4:21 am ET

Barack Obama had no say so in his name at birth. You all need to stop focusing on his name. For the most part the man can do no worst than the last 3 presidents we have had. Hillary is amazing, using whatever tactic she can. She cares about this country. Yeah like she cared about the McDougalls and Vince Foster, etc. Please, this woman is self-centered with an ego the size of Texas. Just as Bill said he can't make Hillary taller, or male, etc., he also can't advise on what to do. Now she wants to attack Obama, going all the way back to kindergarten. I can only laugh and wonder where she parked her broom.

ObamaSupporter   January 8th, 2008 4:16 am ET

Can somebody please tell me what Hillary Clinton has done for this country? She showed years ago she knew nothing about health care, not to mention she has no experience. Being a first lady does not give you experience, only the ability to order people around and drink fancy teas. I for one do not want to see another BUSH or CLINTON every again in the White House. And for those of you who are fooled, Hillary Clinton has no soul. That woman will cut throat you in a minute to get what she wants. You watch what I tell you.

Dew   January 8th, 2008 3:53 am ET

Hillary Clinton is a leader. She has compassion. Ms. Clinton is the only candidate in this presidential election to solve the image problem of Amertica today. Hillary Clinton knows how to run the well oiled machine it will take to walk into the roll of US President in Jan. '09 and begin healing this country. I believe her to be in this race for the good of the people of this country. She is not running to gain power or money. She is a servant of the people and has been devoted to that roll her entire adult life. I am so grateful to have for the first time an exceptional candidate to rally behind. I will actually feel representation in D.C. for all that I believe in. Thank you for running, Hillary!

When all the acting is done, HRC would have lost. A scripted TV moment to show her rare, unicorn-like sensitivity only helps her lose even more credibility. And she goes on to say that's because she's always cared about others not 'self'? and flops quickly to contradict herself?

One would have appreciated an apology to Iowans for the spin out of her office after they lost. Ungracious loser.

Hillary should be looking to get on the Obama ticket as VP. Her leaning on Bill, which is what gave her the now ill-fated air of invincibility and inevitability will not bring new ideas if she were to be president. How can she represent change when she wants the Clintons to be in charge? Of course Bill can't summon interns into the office, but what would have changed? On the other hand, she could continue being a wedge between Republicans and Democrats. So it's Obama/Edwards.

Obama's mixedness and humanness resonates with a majority of Americans, even amongst women. He is, genetically, a coming together of black and white and his names are a mix of Arabic world and Christianity. Raised by a single mother, made mistakes as a youngster, went to college, made good.

No amount of mud will hamper his trip to the White House. Is he the new order. You bet.

Sam   January 8th, 2008 3:39 am ET

Looking at this as an outsider (Africa Zambia to be exact) It's funny when I read some of the comments. For people to say Hillary Clinton really cares for America (that may be True) because she brokedown is a total joke. She is a polititian lets not forget, these emotions were no there when poles showed her ahead. now that she is feeling the preasure all this nonsense of I really care for this country and sobing is just a ploy to get back on track. Like John Edwards said when she was ahead she made no personal attacks, she was sitting there enjoying the ride to the white house now the ride is a bit bumpy she is coming out alll guns blazing, She even got the old man Clinton on stage to help her out. Firstly democrats were united in slating the Bush administration now Hillary is attacking her own why? she is a polititian. don't be fooled by her emotional theatrics.

On the other point of pulling the troops out of Iraq thats one thing america cannot afford to do. The situation in Iraq isn't getting better so how can the solution be pulling out the troops, who is that going to improve the security there. If the war was a mistake abandoning Iraq would be an even bigger one. What happened after the first Gulf war, america pulled out of the war before the job was finished what was created? tyrants. The problem is I think the American public are being misinformed, the resistance in Iraq is not Iraq Vs America is more of a civil war than anything else. America is not at war in Iraq it's trying to brocker peace.

If Hillary Clintons message is experience then by god John McCain is the best man for president (Vote Republican in Novemeber)

NOT a Clinton Drone   January 8th, 2008 3:28 am ET

Glad to see all the Clinton campaign drones are out on the chat boards pumping out false messages of support! Good work people! I'm curious how the scheduling works, though – do you write fake 'I support Hillary' messages 50% of the time, and switch over to deceitful attack messages the other 50%, or do some of you focus full time on either the fake support messages or the lying attack ads? Interested...maybe during one of your breaks tonite, you can fill us in with an honest response.

Good luck to you all – hopefully, you will wake up one day and learn to recognize those who only care about keeping power, vs. those who want to help this country move forward for its own sake.

SOME PEOPLE OUT OF THEIR HEAD!!! THE EXPERIENCED PEOPLE,DICK CHENY BUSH,RUMSFIELD, LIBEMAN,MICCAIN, YOU NAME THEM. THEY ARE ALL WARLOARDS, MISJUDGMENT, BUNCH OF OLDIES. AMERICA NEEDS A FRESH NEW LEADER ABLE TO CLEAN UP OLDIES FROM WHITE HOUSE.
THAT IS WHY AMERICA SPOKEN IN IOWA, WILL SPEAK ALL OVER THE COUNTRY SOON. OBAMA IS THE MAN TO DO THAT!!!

SORRY CLINTON WE LOVE YOU BUT YOU GOT TO GO!!!!

Audrey   January 8th, 2008 2:45 am ET

America.....Walk the talk.....You want change then vote someone who can MAKE THAT CHANGE! Senator Clinton is and will be that person...PROVEN!

Jake, California   January 8th, 2008 2:28 am ET

I am always intrigued by the Hillary supporters...

WHY DO THEY WRITE IN CAPS? Its either her name HILLARY or the entire post. Have you guys seen anyone write Obama in caps like OBAMA?

I have said over and over that you should stop shouting and speak sense, maybe you'll get a few more votes!

Gavin Indiana HRC   January 8th, 2008 2:19 am ET

This BIZARRE NOTION OF A "Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton Dynasty" is SO WIERD AND MAKE NO SENSE.

BUSH 1 destroyed our economy,
CLINTON FIXED IT....
Bush 2 destroyed America....
CLINTON Will FIX IT....

This so-called "Dynasty" is such a ridiculous, bizarre, and senseless attack....

IGNORE IT EVERYONE AND FOCUS ON SOMEONE WHO CAN deliver this change we need; Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton!

East Side Love   January 8th, 2008 2:16 am ET

Believe you me – it WILL BE THE REPUBLICANS WHO WILL BE CRYING IN NOVEMBER.

Go Hillary – California will give you your much deserved delegates.

Mike   January 8th, 2008 2:10 am ET

Wow, again, the comments below reaffirm my amazement in the number of rude Americans. Maybe start thinking about solutions to the problems as opposed to criticizing someone based on false perceptions. I wish Vegas were taking bets on how much actual change Obama would actually bring seeing as how he campaigned on change in Illinois in 2004 yet things look about the same if not worse in Washington.

maria San Francisco   January 8th, 2008 2:07 am ET

Go Hillary!
Can't anyone see that there is no content in Barack Hussein Obama's message?
Change change change How????
Please don't be fooled by him.

GO HILLARY

Go Hillary!   January 8th, 2008 2:06 am ET

All Obama can do is make nice analogies and make people yell. WOW. To be President, I think the American people demand just a little bit more than that. Hillary can walk the walk and has done so successfully for her entire life. She's taken on the Republicans in the Senate, George Bush and countless critics. She's been tested and won every time. Next up, 2008. My vote's with Hillary!

Keeping Score   January 8th, 2008 1:54 am ET

Crying because you aren't doing well in a race is not presidential. What happens if another 9/11 happens? I think it was fake. Another ploy intended to show people her soft side but unfortunately (for her) it didn't work.

Gane, Canada   January 8th, 2008 1:46 am ET

I am so sorry Americans!
Every nation deserves its leader!
Lucks to me that Hillary is to advance for you.
You are behind England, Germany, India, Pakistan... even Afghanistan one day.

Obama-Osama will bring you the "Change" similar to South Africa, I suppose.

Lets you suffer 4 more years; at least!

dan kjeldsen   January 8th, 2008 1:41 am ET

If we really want change, don't vote for Hillery (or a Bush). It's time.

sara   January 8th, 2008 1:38 am ET

As a Canadian friend my husband and I are watching your political process with
intense interest. Our congratulations....the run for the 08 presidency is as
diverse as it is exciting. We commend all the candidates for their hard work and
only ask that each and every American citizen entitled to vote do so for the
candidate of their own, individual choice. That's what democracy is, the voice of
the people – not the media, not the lobbyists, not the corporations. Just every
citizen, getting out there on voting day.

The world is watching, this election affects everyone on the globe, so please please please get out there and vote in every caucus, primary and convention, and ultimately
on the big day itself. Do not be apathetic or cynical or lazy about the greatest chance
to make a difference.

Our democracies in North America are hardwon privileges and each of us must
respect the history of those that have passed that privilege on to us...so VOTE
your own free choice and celebrate the right to do so.

Republican4Life   January 8th, 2008 1:24 am ET

She is really pulling out all the stops. She is one state loss away from saying America wont elect a... you know, a person.... without experience...being white.

I think Hillary will win the nomination and in doing so insult so many people (democrats, Republicans alike) the Republican nominee will have a smooth sail to the White House.

So, go Hillary, GO!

Patryce Kidd   January 8th, 2008 1:11 am ET

I'm sure all the Democratic candidates are compassionate and caring individuals who are striving in their work to make a difference in the lives of common people. But for me, Hillary Clinton is head and shoulders above the rest in demonstrating just how much she does care through a lifetime of dedicated and indefatiguable public service.

Do these political commentators in the media who are so ready to jump on Obama's bandwagon (however fleeting it may turn out to be) realize what a monumental feat it is that Hillary is running as the first-ever women candidate for president and just how much courage and commitment it takes to keep on fighting against the odds she's up against just because she's a woman?

She's had to learn to play the strong and tough political hardball game to survive, but there is no doubt in my mind that what motivates her is not an innate lust for power but a deep-rooted desire to help ease suffering and better the conditions for people everywhere.

To me, this is what is getting lost in the media, and even in her campaign – her warmth, tenderness, caring, and compassion – her heart of gold. But it's a double-edged sword, isn't it? If she shows her soft side, she risks being accused of weakness; if she's strong and tough, then she's a machine. Maybe it's "easier" for Obama to appear authentic in his lofty and inspirational message. But when it comes to the true nitty gritty of what we need more of in this world, my vote is with Hillary Clinton!

I voice these thoughts for one reason only, to send my support and encouragement to this amazing woman at this challenging time. One thing I know for sure – she will never give up! For that I am very grateful – and I'm not even an American. Thank you, Hillary! Good luck!

j. Page   January 8th, 2008 12:59 am ET

I could NOT believe that CNN would have a pig like Dick Morris on their MSNBC show tonight. He kept going on and on about how Clinton did not want Obama to run because he was black and she was racist????? Are you kidding me? That pig is just a Clinton hater and is using the WORST filth he can spew to get his point across. What has Black got to do with ANYTHING...now if Colin Powell were to run people SHOULD be linning up to get him in there. But this guy??? Jr. Senator? What the he– does he KNOW and have to Offer?? He if you notice hasn't said a thing accept CHANGE. Well, he–! I want Change but I am not presidential material and NEITHER IS HE!! What is so bad about this whole thing is that even Hillary's fellow Democrats have turned on her accept for Richardson..because those fools believed that she was the one to BEAT and if they can get the MEDIA to back this idea that NH loss will put her out of the RACE they will turn on OBAMA so quick his head will fly off! Because THEY ALL know he is ripe for the picking..he has NOTHING TO STAND ON...NO EXPERIENCE, NO FOREIGN POLICY, nothing! I voted for Bill Clinton and I would do it again a million times! WE were SOOOOOO much better off when he was in office. And as most smart people Hillary has done nothing but get smarter and study politics since her time in the WH...so its a two for one sweet deal!. Everytime I turn on the TV Iwant to hurl .....AND New Hampshire if they do succeed in getting BO in office and we end up as bad off as we all KNOW we will, well they have themselves to thank! And they will be the ones bit–ings the most when it happens. Like the Idiots they are

Senator Clinton is the most qualified to get the changes this country desperately needs. It's refreshing to read such positive input from so many of you here. Thank you for restoring my hope that not everyone is fooled by the media spin.
Go Hillary!

Mary   January 8th, 2008 12:51 am ET

I am a professional speaker. I can inspire and bring an audience to tears. I have motivated people to do extraordinary things...in business. I have even won speech and debate contests...

BUT, I am NOT qualified to be President – the Chief Executive Officer of the US and Commander-in-Chief

...even tho I am a smart, informed, caring, progressive and practical political junkie who can turn a phrase.

THINK about it, People. QUALIFICATIONS MATTER!

Barack has some great rhetoric and organizing ideas...and has captured everyone's imagination...even mine.

But, I – like "Aware" am a little troubled by his cool. detached – almost – arrogance. His wife Michelle is very impressive, but is also a little condescending, too...in my view.

Bill and Hillary Clinton with all their real and/or perceived flaws (which BTW are no greater than most of us or even a few Biblical heroes) have never seemed arrogant to me. They seem humble and genuinely interested in people...even tho they are two of the most gifted people on the planet. They often seem even tickled at their rise to the heights they have both achieved.

I like to hear Barack talk...but I am STILL with HILLARY...

I believe she IS the most qualified...and the most respected and able to work w Congress and across the aisle with all but the most hatefilled wingbats on the right.

And, John Edwards – I was in your corner and sent you money, but I am not happy with your attack dog strategy against Hillary. Cut it out and stick to the issues. AND I was very disappointed to learn that your patients bill of rights "success story" never passed into law. That was not a very good example to bring up...you may not be as smart as I hoped you were.

I am praying hard for all of them and all of us...because this election really IS important in BIG BIG ways. Be wise!

K   January 8th, 2008 12:48 am ET

I don't want another inexperience President in the white house.

I will not waste my vote on an inexperience candidate like Obama and Edwards.

Obama missed 80% of US senate votes especially key issues like Iran. There are times he's present but he doesn't vote on issues. He couldn't even fulfill his duties as a US Senator. Is This the kind of leader you want in the white house?? Heaven help us if he becomes president.

I would like to see economic growth, more jobs, balanced budget, TRILLION DOLLAR SURPLUS.

Angela   January 8th, 2008 12:47 am ET

I think all the Hillary bashing is stupid. She's the most intelligent leader who is running for president. It's time the American people got beyond their high school mentality of voting for the person they thought was the best looking or the person they thought was the coolest–that's why George W. Bush got elected–and look where it got us. It's time we stopped electing people because we think it would be fun to drink beer with them or because they know how to hunt animals. And just on general principles I can't support Obama or Edwards because they have engaged in bashing Hillary's character–even her clothes. They've become so petty, it's undignified.

ss   January 8th, 2008 12:41 am ET

she needs to stop arguing about she will be the best on day one. it is not enough to make a case for her – she needs to be talking about how she will be better for 4/8 years. she needs to differentiate with her plan. she uses one of the most stupid line "i have already been doing it for 35 years...." that is a big put off – no one likes where we are and then remiding people that what she wants to do is already being done is suicide. she needs to talk about how her experience and learning she has collected in 35 years and how it will help her bring better chage. i feel sorry for her being washed by a bad campaign message.

if obama wins the democratic primary, rebuplicans will kill him with his middle name – it will not be just first black president but first "muslim" president – yes he was brought up christian but he was born muslim and his mother married again to a muslim.

Bob   January 8th, 2008 12:34 am ET

Can someone please explain to me what experience Mrs. Clinton has? She keeps touting 35 years of experience, but I don't think anyone is really buying it. Does she think we are stupid?

Response to JD   January 8th, 2008 12:30 am ET

Obviously this is a man (or woman) who is not comfortable with a woman running the country. I completely disagree with this ridiculous interpretation.

Daniel   January 8th, 2008 12:16 am ET

Well let's wait to see what New Hampshire have to offer.May the best candidate who can help solve the problems win.I will be praying for the four contestants .

Bea, Hoboken, NJ   January 8th, 2008 12:08 am ET

I wish Barack would have had the humility to realize that a person with less than (at the time) 2 years in the senate is not ready to be running for president . If he had been more humble and actually learned how to be a good senator before aiming for the brass ring, I would probably had voted for him.

As it is, I think that Hillary is the best choice for these trying times. I think that she would be a good president.

susan2   January 8th, 2008 12:05 am ET

Holy smokes...she "welled up" ??? Are you kidding me? What do you think will happen if she ever is in a room with someone like Putin???

Cole in Los Angeles   January 8th, 2008 12:04 am ET

Obama may in fact win. So did Arnold. People, all of us, are so desperate for something new. Change? The truth is, the public does have a right for something new, something different, something that will place this country on the right track. BUT, this is politics people. This is not a corporation for profit, otherwise, yes, a great Leader will do just fine. We need a Leader AND a Politician. I wish people would really think of what is possible and what will take more than 8 years and a new face to turn things around. Progress stalls. Why? Because it takes a leader AND a politician than can negotiate and produce change with politicians. Congress and the federal government as a whole is not just waiting for someone to take over and lead them. They will not follow! So what good is a good leader if he doesnt believe politics is equally if not more important here. Isn't running for president political in and of itself? I would like to think the government would just follow a leader like Obama. But in fact, he will create stall, maybe for the wrong reasons i.e. young, black, inexperienced, "the saviour", but truthfully, it is sad that Obama may win just because we are so desperate. We deserve change, although I have become to dislike the use of this "niche", but truthfully, he doesnt have the political experience to make people follow him. Congressmen and women will not just say "Ok Obama, we havent' known what to do before you got here. Tell us what to do!" There are way too many politicians that will be insulted by his seemingly pompous demeanor in which he portrays himself as the saviour. Yeah, sure. politicians will just forget everything they have worked for and be welcoming to someone that is trying somehow prove that you really dont need experience. We are not at church people. Sad to say, because faith goes a long way. But this is the US Federal Government we are talking about. So, voting for him, will create yet another pause towards progress. Obama's inspiration is good, but not enough to run this country as the president. I'd rather vote for the wimp of Edwards who may be vying for a VP for position under Obama, or even McCain. Take this for what is worth...but think about it. This is why our voting is really not a direct vote for the delegates, hence electoral votes.

The distinguished gentlewoman form the great state of.... where is she from? Oh yea the state who conveniently had an open senate seat when she needed to get the experience she constantly boasts about...she claims 35 years of service. funny she omits she was a private attorney, a stay at home mother , and the wife of an actual elected official for the bulk of the 35 years she claims. 7 years in actual government. during which she has not managed to successfully get any substanstial legislation passed. On the other had the distiguished gentleman from Illinois served over 10 years in the state government. introduced over 1000 pieces if legislation, successfully passed legislation helping children the poor, and the underprivilaged of his state. Every time he speaks he does so with compassion. that is different than rhetoric. He has stayed away from the dirty pool guised as good politics that the Clintons are famous for. He has held his head up and trudged ahead. The clintons are the authors of a great campaign strategy. One that worked well for it's time. They just became so full of themselves they forgot to notice that the times have changed. Hillary assumed it was a lock!! so much so that she is stunned to find the people have not fallen for the lie yet again.. So.... when spit and polish fails..... and Being nasty fails..... then... bring on the tears!!.. All the while Mr Obama has stayed focussed on his message not worrying about her message.. Courage and integrity are not coined phrases well executed to get the proper punch. They are not beholden to the latest poll numbers. They are steady and true when they are up or when they are down.. please notice how when she is down the true colors do come out.. The truth is she is a smart lady she has a wonderful daughter, she accepts adultry, believes in convenient murder ( Ask Vince Foster) and will take credit for what ever she thinks people will believe. ... It is my heartfelt desire that she reap what has been sown..

James   January 7th, 2008 11:45 pm ET

Hillary has 35 years experience. Obama has two years experience. Which is better? Go figure.

Vic Novosad, Sugar Land, TX   January 7th, 2008 11:43 pm ET

I've admired Hillary Clinton for many, many years, beginning when she presented her health plan in the nineties. That the Senate voted her plan down, and she gets criticism to this day, is the very reason Barak Obama should NOT be voted in as president. She has admitted that her naivete in the ways of Washington contributed to her failure. So it will be for Obama. Nevertheless, Senator Oren Hatch, Republican from Utah, had praise for her hard work and intelligence.

My admiration for her was sealed last year when in a hearing on the Iraq war was held and Donald Rumsfeld was being questioned, it was none other than Senator Hillary Clinton who had him squirming in the hot seat when she asked him why Congress was not being kept informed concerning the Bush Administration's plans for Iraq. IT WAS NOT LONG AFTER THAT HEARING THAT THE DEMOCRATS WON A MAJORITY ELECTION, AND DONALD RUMSFELD WAS REPLACED.

Just remember this folks: You don't have to VOTE for Barak Obama in order to adore him. Instead show him your support by voting instead for Hillary, and his turn will come. It will only help him by waiting his turn, just as she has.

L.C.   January 7th, 2008 11:42 pm ET

Hillary is smart, capable and SPECIFIC. Obama speaks in generalizations. She is the best and the most qualified to get us out of this Bush-induced mess. Please vote for her. She will make a comeback – I feel it. I'm offended by Oprah and her touchy-feely manipulations. Oprah – go sell a book.

From The North   January 7th, 2008 11:41 pm ET

I'm not for or against any party or Candidate. But looking in from the North, I see Hillary as the best choice for President. I believe she is the Real Deal and don't care whether she is a Clinton, Bush, Carter, or Reagan. As America needs a strong, experienced, capable leader to clean up the mess made by this Administration.

She has the experience on the home front and internationally, she knows politics from both sides, can see the camelions and knows how to put them in their place.

She can deal with criticism and when necessary put the critics in their place and move on with the real issues at hand.

She's an intellectual and an experienced negotiator.

She's been tarred and feathered unfairly for years in public and is still front and center, strong, and determined to win for her country and people.

She knows how to cross great divides and unite differences for the good of all and has done so as Senator. She earned respect even from her enemies as a Senator.

She has compassion for the disadvantaged, oppressed, elderly and sick.

She has fought for Veterans, the Physically Challenged, Single Moms, Women, and the Aged when others turned their backs.

She's lived through hard times, met the challenges head on, took and is still taking the public lashings and became stronger, wiser. and more determined as a result.

She has a vision and a plan for a better America and the stamina, courage, wisdom, and capability to carry it through.

She is not a quitter and go the extra miles and use every sinew and muscle to get the job done.

I truly believe she has a genuine concern for her country and it's people.

Obama nor Edwards is ready for the Presidency. Those who vote for either are feeding the Republican dream. They want you to vote Obama or Edwards as they know they are the easier to beat and will ensure a Republican in the White House.

Don't play their game. If there's one thing that will bring America to the depths of despair it's another Republican President. America won't survive another Repulican Government. America will do well to survive under it's present government untill 2008.

Don't get caught up in the politcal games for power and glory. Don't vote for the party. Vote for the Candidate who has the experience to handle the great task before them and can restore your Nation and it's reputation.

Sometimes those who are not in the middle of the situation can see it more clearly. And looking in from Canada its very clear that Republicans are using their spin machines to oust the one they know they can't beat, Hillary. Don't take the bait as Americans and the World will pay the ultimate price.

I pray that the present Government won't use the same tactics it did with Iraq to start yet another fiasco with Iran before their term is done. And given the headlines in the news it sounds very much like the same rattlings I heard before the attack on Iraq. Americans decision in this election will be the most important decision they have made in decades. Please think long and hard before casting your votes as not only America but the World is at stake.

ATANIA   January 7th, 2008 11:41 pm ET

I DO NOT AGREE WITH HILLARY'S PERSONALITY,BUT I DO AGREED THAT SHE IS OVER QUALIFIED TO BE MY NEXT PRESIDENT.AND SHE WILL BE THE BEST,HER EXPERIENCE AND DEDICATION TO OUR COUNTRY IS ALL NEED.

olga aros, phoenix, arizona   January 7th, 2008 11:40 pm ET

Americans we have waited too long for the right person to come along and re-shape the future of this country. Our next president must possess a big vision of the future and have the executive experience to make it happen.

When you have only 2 years (Obama) 6 years (Edwards) it is not enough to move our country forward quickly. Each of us have been in new jobs and most of us have had to cope through on the job training. We know in a very personal way how we performed as we were gaining knowledge, experience and skills. We had to learn to build effective relationships in order to navigate effectively.

Our country needs the most experience, most knowledgeable candidate now. Our problems are complex and need immediate change. We cannot afford to place an individual who need OJT. Come on....you know this!

The most experienced, qualified candidate is what the job calls for. This is Hillary. Judge her on her accomplishment and what she has delivered to this country. This equates to her doing even more than you can imagine.

Imagine for one moment...this historical change of events. Dig deep and know that your choice must be Hillary. All other rhetoric aside she is the most qualified, know how to navigate, understands the critical issues, knows the players and will exercise her will to make it happen. She needs us behind her now.....take the time to assess the "words" being said! She is the only one that can deliver them.

Be strong. Senator Barack Obama is full of Blu blu blu. He says the same thing over and over again, which does not amount to much at all. A present vote, no stance.

I am a first time voter I will vote for Hillary, Obama has nothing to show other than being a young politician with a bright future, sure he has potential but we need yet to see what he have done to deserve the highest post on this planet. he is pale and has nothing to show, while for Hillary, we know she is for middle class, she is for stronger america, she is for peace in the world. she has shown that and it is in her blood.

JB   January 7th, 2008 11:36 pm ET

No wonder Hillary is tearing up. Here she has put her heart and soul and endless hours of work into making this country a better place only to be outpolled by an over confident newcomer who breaks upon the scene with a good look but a blank slate. It's enough to make any working women of the early boomer years bawl. Haven't we lived this? But that's the past, right, America? ..and I ask this question, can WE, the voters, change?

Vote for competence. Vote Hillary.

All you Clinton haters is why our country is so divided. You all hate Hillary, and everyone else hates somebody or group. Obama's talk about "bringing the country together" is all talk and feel good politics. Our country can not come together on the many issues facing us.

All you can do is work to get a majority so that you can pass the necessary legislation. Shame on Obama that he would give such false hope of unity to win an election. Politics is not the art of hope, it is the art of compromise. Being an ideologue doesn't cut it. President Bush is a good example, No, in the end, Iowa was wrong to hope for change, N.H. will be wrong if it follows in Iowa's footsteps.
Obama will wear thin as the campaign moves to the more diverse states. So far the Hispanics haven't voted or the Blacks and other minorities. Hillary is the one who has the savvy, and is familiar with the workings of the Whitehouse.

joe   January 7th, 2008 11:21 pm ET

Will there be a Christmas tree at the White house in 2009 ??? Ya vote for Obama and we'll all be sorry.

go Hillery

Merry Grant   January 7th, 2008 11:20 pm ET

Hillary tried to get a national health care for this country when Bill was in the White House.. Special interest of the very powerful basically laughed... We were paying 800 a month (the 90's) and her plan would have saved us a lot of money.
She does care for this country... She wants to make a difference.. and a difference she will make.
I cannot understand the hatefulness toward her... She is very intelligent, a lot more then a lot that are running...
I want a President who is smart. I want one who doesn't need a teleprompter to deliver a message... I want a president that knows we need change, knows the middle class is shrinking.. our jobs are going to other countries, our entergy cost are rising, the infrastructure of our country has been neglected for too long..
What are our children's future? Think about it..
In the meantime, the Federal Reserve (private banks and by no means owned by the government) keeps printing money so we can pay interest on it...
I am putting my faith in her... I think she will be an amazing president.

Meng v. Schwartz

Judicial Watch filed this important political corruption lawsuit on behalf of shareholders of a well-connected U.S. corporation that transferred sensitive U.S. missile technology to China in the 1990s. From approximately 1994 to 1998, Bernard Schwartz, who was the chairman of Loral Space & Communication Ltd., became the single largest donor to the Democratic Party by making contributions totaling approximately $1.5 million to various Democratic Party entities, including President Clinton’s 1996 reelection campaign.

During this same time period, Schwartz and Loral also persuaded the Clinton Administration to transfer technology export licensing authority from the State Department to the more politically-influenced Commerce Department. Schwartz and Loral then obtained licenses from the Commerce Department that were needed to launch Loral-manufactured communications satellites into orbit from China. Congressional and other related investigations subsequently found that, when a Chinese rocket attempting to launch a Loral-manufactured satellite failed, Loral helped China to identify the cause of the failure, thereby advancing China’s missile program and threatening U.S. national security. Loral subsequently paid a $14 million fine relating to this transfer of sensitive U.S. technology.

Judicial Watch’s shareholder lawsuit sought to hold Schwartz and the Clinton Administration accountable under federal racketeering law, arguing that Schwartz’s campaign contributions constituted a form of bribery. The lawsuit ultimately did not go forward, but it succeeded in bringing additional public scrutiny to this very serious case of political corruption.

Court Documents

PLAINTIFFS' OPPOSITION TO THE PRESIDENT AND MRS. CLINTON'S MOTION TO DISMISS – "The Amended Complaint alleges that Hillary Rodham Clinton devised, agreed to participate in and implemented this unlawful scheme, and that President Clinton and Vice-President Al Gore authorized, agreed to participate in, and also implemented the scheme."

go hillary
from the canadian group of women

Misty   January 7th, 2008 11:06 pm ET

Come on people, WAKE UP!!! I am tired of what dubYAH has done and I want real change!!!! I am thrilled that there are 2 viable candidates running in the democratic party for a change. Hillary has real experience and she has already been in the white house before. I think she will go right to work for change not only because she has all the democrats AND republicans putting her under the microscope, but she has such big shoes to fill for ALL WOMEN!!!

Mike Orlando, FL   January 7th, 2008 11:04 pm ET

Hillary is going to be the nominee and she's going all the way to the white house!

GO HILLARY 08!!!

J. McKinney SW MO   January 7th, 2008 11:04 pm ET

The more confident Obama gets, the more arrogant and obnoxious he gets. Go, Hillary!! You've got my vote!

WomanWithHope   January 7th, 2008 11:01 pm ET

How come CNN posts any nasty thing people say about Hillary but nothing bad about Obama.

NWillis   January 7th, 2008 10:55 pm ET

Mrs. Clinton, I saw no tears while I watched with interest from Chicago. I did see a pause, but no tears. I guess they have all been used crying over Mr. Clinton's antics.

I think that the United States have been embarassed enough by the Clinton's. It's time for a Change.

Manuela   January 7th, 2008 10:54 pm ET

who cares about Oprah? I guess millions of stupid fat people do. People can't you think for yourselves??? you need Oprah to tell you how to live your life?
please wake up, exercise, lose some weight and look at how the rest of the civilized world is leaving their lives. America is heading in the wrong direction at the speed of life. people live their lives stuck to their television sets and allow the television and media to dictate their lives.
Oprah is an idiot who forgot how hard it was for a woman to get to the power. I have no respect for her anylonger since she turned her back on Hillary. she should have sided with the women. but she is such a typical stupid woman, she sides with the men, typical women. instead of us smart women to unite together and be strong and unite against the hurt we got from men, we turn against each other and kiss us the guys who hurt us. or maybe Oprah couldn't stand the fact that there might be a woman out there more powerful than she is. I have no respect for Oprah what's so ever. she is an big time idiot.
Obama stole all Hillary ideas and now he is turning into a major jerk. let's not forget that he put her down on national television many times. I don't like him and I don’t trust him. Hillary will make one good president, but I guess this country is way behind the rest of the world to allow a woman to lead. This country is pretty sexist so I am not surprised you will vote for a black guy who is inexperienced rather than vote for a perfectly good experienced candidate who is a woman. Well, I think you guys are making a big mistake for voting for Obama. On the day when you will have to vote for your president, the majority of people will vote for the white republican guy, and hence one more time there will be 8 years of long recession and republican, conservative and narrow-minded era.
wake up and smell the coffee and vote for the right candidate who can bring the country back to the glory days of Clinton when the economy was booming and things were good.
and one more thing, so what Bill cheated on Hilary, how many men out there cheat on their wives on daily basis? or how many physically abuse their wives? please wake up to reality. what's worse cheating on your wife or abusing her physically or emotionally??? please there is at least one case of abuse in every single relationship in this country. but how do you go on with your relationships?? you forgive and learn and go on, because you need each other for different reasons, money, children etc. so think straight before you vote for the wrong candidate just because stupid Oprah said so. Oprah please.. I have no respect for her what's so ever and I am a smart engineer and very educated and well traveled woman. but I know how this world turns and I hate to see smart women turning against themselves just because of jealousy. shame on Oprah. have no respect for her.

Rob - Ludlow, MA   January 7th, 2008 10:48 pm ET

GO HILLARY!

Leb   January 7th, 2008 10:47 pm ET

Hillary will lose because she hates us, women. I watched her do the health care in the 1990s, and she was ABYSMAL. I was in Medicine, and all she started was a PANIC and MANY in health care BLAME her and BILL for the current mess– in fact, the mess they created "inadvertently" has caused insurance prices to go through the roof so much that I wonder if it was not ALL PLANNED. You could not have screwed it up any better if you had been trying. 2nd. She hates women. In her interview after being First Lady with Barbara Walters, she COULD HARDLY BRING HERSELF to mention being FIRST LADY. OUR FIRST LADY, AND it was like she was ASHAMED OF IT. That it MEANT NOTHING to be FIRST LADY. Well, lady, YOU LOST MY VOTE RIGHT THERE. 3rd. When corporations say JUMP, SHE AND BILL SAY "HOW HIGH?" He got the Union endorsement to be against NAFTA, GOT IN OFFICE, AND SIGNED IT. And Ross Perot was right, THAT SUCKING SOUND WAS OUR JOBS GOING OVERSEAS–I WAS OUTSOURCED UNDER THE CLINTONS–JOB TO INDIA. SO Don't talk to me about BUSH. It started long before. ANYONE who thinks that HILL WILL HELP THE WORKING PERSON OR THE LITTLE PERSON–You'd be far better off with Obama, who seems to like people, or Edwards, who I believe truly understands how UP AGAINST IT the NORMAL PERSON IS> HILLARY COULD CARE LESS! She is the typical baby boomer rabble rouser–cares for herself and her "cause" above all else. IF THE CLINTONS ARE SO progressive–WHY DIDN'T THEY HELP THE REGULAR WORKING GUY WHEN THEY WERE IN OFFICE BEFORE?

NIGHTMARE IN NY   January 7th, 2008 10:45 pm ET

Hillary can't buy it now she wants a pity vote. again

The last thing you need to do is feel sorry for this woman!

Hillary Clinton is a strong woman. Not too many women could have endured what this woman did when her husband 's sexual behavior was exposed to the whole world. You of all people know this women. This woman not only stayed with Bill Clinton she plotted to seek a senate seat in NY. A well thought out plan i'd say. This woman is not thinking about this country never the less you or me just her political career and the status quo.

Another psychological ploy

Sylvia   January 7th, 2008 10:43 pm ET

Her rally tonight was a true demonstration of her character, leadership & why she should be the Democratic candidate - substance does matter.

I hope the press adequately covers this event instead of more blah, blah about Obama & how Hillary is already out of the race. BS!

San Francisco, California   January 7th, 2008 10:43 pm ET

Obama's typical speech messages:
"....stand by me and we will change the country and the world...".
" The country needs a real change...."
"...folks, change is what this country need right now!",
"...we don't want the same people in the white house, we need change"
"...I am an agent for change, help me implement change..."
"...this is a revolution for change!"
".....if you vote for me you will be voting for change"

Notice the lack of content. Notice the repetitive term "change". Notice the lack of willingness to point to any realistic records for change. Notice the lack of details to the changes that he is proposing. Most importantly, notice how broad the definition of 'change' is and how VAGUE it is. A vote for Obama is a vote to confirm that you this country can not be bother with specifics. A vote for Obama is a vote to say..."don't ask don't tell".....A vote for Obama is a vote for ignorance. The country is at a cross road, we need a Woman who has defy the odds to get where she is now....a woman who has done the tough battles....a woman who knows what it really takes to make change happen and know too well that talk is cheap.

Kokou   January 7th, 2008 10:35 pm ET

I have ever seen a lady like Hillary. I was surprise to see her crying like somebody told her something. No one pick on u lady. After all the big talk and attacks on Barack Obama, she cracked down. Oh my goodness. That is telling the American people how devicise Hillary is. She cannot rule this country with this type of attitude. Give Obama a chance to play his card like you played in the 90. It is only for greed that she is doing this. There is nobody who can rule this country beside Bush and Clinton's. Please give me a break.

Go Obama 2008

Ryan   January 7th, 2008 10:29 pm ET

As a Canadian looking in, I fail to see how electing someone based on their likeability with comparatively little experience is a great move. While Obama preaches about change, Clinton has the passion, dedication, and experience to bring about change effectively. Take our own Harper, for instance. While he appeared cold and not very friendly, we elected him based on results and experience, and it turned out great.

If I were an American, Hillary would definitely get my vote because she can bring about the aspect of change the American people want because of her passion and experience.

Hope you win, Hillary!

I HAVE BEEN A REGISTERED DEMOCRAT FOR ABT. 60 YEARS , SO PLEASE

CREATE CHANGE. THANK YOU

SCORECARD ON ACCOMPLISHMENT: Hillary 12 Obama 0.

If you read the scorecard in terms of real legislation sponsored, written and passed (versus just "supported") then HIllary is the obvious choice.

And, I'm curious–why does the media delight in continuing to attack this woman who has accomplished so much versus a nobody who is arrogant, entitled (so Harvard what attitude), too young to know what he's getting into, but real polished and really likeable.

I remember working for a guy like this in corporate America. He was exactly like Obama. Made a fortune, retired early. Worked the system. Knew what to say. Completely screwed up every organizations that he had run.

Hey, Barack, can we discuss ACTIONS versus WORDS for a moment?

If you want a good speaker elect Obama. If you want somebody who GETS THINGS DONE elect Clinton. I appreciate any real factual data that contradicts my opinion...any takers? What the hell has this guy DONE?

I thought. not.

This is the same thing that happened when BUSH was elected, nice guy, good message, good media coverage, INCOMPETENT.

FOUR MORE YEARS OF INCOMPETENCE, GOODIE! LOOKING FORWARD TO IT!

Brian - Iowa   January 7th, 2008 10:26 pm ET

Obama inspires change, he inspires people to feel that they can do more than they thought you could, that their voice matters.....the status quo has created a complacent nation.... we need to shock the system, not the same old politics of the last two Clinton/Bush laden decades.

Anne   January 7th, 2008 10:25 pm ET

And Edwards talking about how 'personal' it was to him regarding health care issues and people who do not have health care. I can only figure that his wife's medical situation is being paid for somehow...and if not by his own health care insurance...let us know John. Thanks.

jms   January 7th, 2008 10:24 pm ET

Please dear God, anybody but HRC (Her royal Clintononian)

Anne   January 7th, 2008 10:23 pm ET

Hopefully the Super Tuesday will end up on the most postive of notes.......I am surprised at the reasons for the support of Obama....'not another Clinton' – ecks – and did these same persons vote for 'yes another Bush???"

I think it was also missed by the reporters that Edwards made a claim and claimed that he worked on the Health Care program and sorta neglected to tell anyone that it never passed the House. Clinton pointed that out during the most recent debates. Did you catch it? If not, go back and watch – someone may wake up to the fact that Edwards certainly is polished in the mire of omission of facts. Spin – spin – spin .....watch out NH.....

Joshlyn   January 7th, 2008 10:22 pm ET

Hillary better shove it in to overdrive and go after Obama and reveal to the people that we do not want to vote for a muslim. A man that will not even place his hand on his heart during the pledge to the flag. The time has come for people to wake up and smell the muslim. He does not deserve the right to run for president since he has decieved the American People. He is a liar and he must be ashamed of his relegion. Hillary lets put Barack in his place and its not the President of the United States. Let's give him a one way ticket to Hell.

Concerned   January 7th, 2008 10:19 pm ET

Hillary and Obama both are corporate politicians. They will promise the world right now just to get in. After all, is that not what every candidate has done since the dawn of man?

What are these candidates opinions on exporting jobs, or removing the H1B limits? Given their need for great monitary support, they will continue to sell Red Blooded Americans out, so that coporations can make more money.

Where is the true defender of the middle class?

Folks, let's dig in and ask the very very hard questions! What are they going to do about our economy and it's future, relative to the globalization efforts set forth by corporations?

This country is rapidly becoming a 3rd world nation due to these 'corporate politicians' and their willingness to give jobs away... at the middle class's expense.

George Porter   January 7th, 2008 10:18 pm ET

Hillary...35 years of experience...at doing whatever it takes to keep a marriage to an unfaithful man...
What I don't get is, what do denial and self-betrayal have to do with the presidency?

Dy   January 7th, 2008 10:16 pm ET

Popular motions and influences want me to vote for Obama. His speeches truly had me moved. I like him and have read both his books.

However, I agree with Hillary more than I do Obama on almost every major issues, plus she is better prepared and more experienced.

I try to vote with my mind not my heart, and as much as I am "in love" with Obama my mind tells me its more of an infatuation.

I am voting for Hillary.

F. Sjogren   January 7th, 2008 10:15 pm ET

Obama is an empty suit. This country cannot be manage slogan. This "great speech" the spinners talk about is nothing but a brazen example of plagiarism.
Remember Joe Biden who was severely critisized for using that English man's remarks some years ago when he first tried for the Democratic nomination? Why is Obama being given a pass. He is just a lot of hot air. Hillary scares the pant of othe men.

What a bunch of interesting comments....wow – lets put down Clinton cause one doesn't believe she can deliver on what she says – get a grip – neither can ANY OF THE candiates....she however, has done more than ANY OF THE OTHER candidates – experience counts or else, all college graduates would be president of the companys they go to work for!

Uma, mpls, MN   January 7th, 2008 10:13 pm ET

what ever polls say but my gut feeling you will win in NH and will start your victory phase.

NH people are very intelligent and smart, they have brain and heart and use both when they look for president and i'm sure Hillary will be the winner of tomorrow night.

No way America is ready to vote for Hussein......or Trial lawyer what the hell!!!!!!!!!!!!

R   January 7th, 2008 10:12 pm ET

I have researched all of the candidates, and some how Obama's message of hope and change does not sit well with me! i don't know about the rest of America but all that talk about "hope and change" is not going to help America. Im a realist and Obama's message seems like bull to me. Being inspired is not going to help our country, what we need is strong, calculating president who can figure out our problems and start fixing them. I just don't think Obama can handle it.

Chris, Sarasota, FL   January 7th, 2008 10:10 pm ET

FOLKS WAKE UP!!!! Only one democrat can win this election and that's John Edwards. I truly believe the republican party is funding Obama and Clinton because they know they will beat either of these candidates! Wake up before it's to late!

Prayu   January 7th, 2008 10:09 pm ET

Here's what makes her so fake; she is cold and calculating, many Washington insiders were terrified of her during her reign as First Wife. We know that's how she really is. All this is now, is a well done drama to show her weak side and soften her image. Nothing arouses sympathy like a woman crying; you think people are being chauvinistic or callous for calling her out on it? She's using her gender as an advantage now, and i'm sure numerous well meaning dolts will be tricked by her skits.

And for the record, the Presidency is an occupation that requires intelligence, leadership skills and a strong sense of moral fiber and responsibility. Obama has all of those in spades; he won my respect for coming out and admitting that he had almost been lured into serious drug use, in his youth. It was not a politically beneficial thing to say; but it was the truth. And people can identify with someone who has made mistakes in his past, a REAL person; not some political schemer who cries when people see her as cold, or constantly shifts her campaign message to the flavor of the week.

hank   January 7th, 2008 10:06 pm ET

Its good to get emotional,i get emotional when i care . Hillary cares for her country, nothing wrong with that ,so come on N,H , DO THE RIGHT THING VOTE HILLARY BECAUSE SHE CARES, not only for the country , also the people.

Kathy Porter   January 7th, 2008 10:06 pm ET

We have had change. We have had George Bush ! Not only that, we put him in a second term. Is that what you want again? This country is so badly damaged that some one that is not experienced in all areas will surely put us in a bigger mess than we have now. Hillery has been connected for a long time , knows the smart people , and can work with congress and reach across the aisle.
It's one thing to say they will do what ever,,,, but you can't do it alone, you need the cooperation of the congress. She's my choice all the way....Go Hilleray!

eesu   January 7th, 2008 10:01 pm ET

I am very glad to read all these positive comments about Hillary. We know from the very beginning that she is the most intelligent and best qualified person to lead this country and stand with us and regain our lost values, domestic, as well as restore our moral standing in the world. Please people of NH, wake up and let us stand with her in this troubled times to heal and recover our ailing economy, our trillions deficit, health care coverage for the children, senoirs and for our men and women in uniform, etc. Hillary is very passionate about what is right for our country and we should be too. So please face reality and not the ILLUSION OF CHANGE that Obama, A NOVICE AND INEXPERIENCED PERSON is offering but will not be able to deliver within four years. What happened to his voting papers in Illinois that suddenly went missing? " He has done nothing for Illinois" comment from an Illinois resident on CSPAN. It will take a person like Hillary to start the job as President right away on day one.

zhangjun   January 7th, 2008 10:00 pm ET

I'm a Chinese. You Americans seem to me so cynical and silly, completely against the using of Brain! I caught most of the stump speeches by both of them. I don't buy the argument that Obama is eloquent or persuasive. On the contrary, he stutters all the time. Most of all, full of empty words such as hope or change without giving details how to accomplish it. And the crowd seems to be impressed. so stupid. No wonder our Presidents, though dictators, are always way smarter than yours, b/c you guys only know how to elect a demagogue w/o actual wisdom of governing. Governing requires experience, and insight of dealing with people of all kinds. Simple-mindedness like Bush has made my country so prosperous these years!
The only exception is Bill Clinton who is both smart and a demagogue. Yet it's increasingly difficult for stupid and no-brainer people like you Americans to elect serious people to the presidency.
I'm looking forward to the farce of an Obama's administration in the world. We of course love such silly choices. That means we can continue our rise to prosperity w/o worry about any threat. America is doomed. Ha ha....

Anonymous   January 7th, 2008 9:54 pm ET

Hillary backers are delusional. She's the most divisive candidate to come along in years. The last thing this country needs is another 4 years of polarized electorates – and that's all we'll get from another Clinton Presidency.

Hillary = Politician
Obama = Leader

Go Obama!!!

Plllllllllllllllease Hillary!!
Ready on day one?? For what?? To ask Bill what to do? You talk about your experience, you HAVEN'T governed. You talk about change?? Yet your campaign is loaded with those hacks of yester-year. I haven't heard you address your plans to get the millions of AMERICANS off our streets. What about the AMERICANS who go hungry each day?? Day one, huh?? Like you'll create dramatic change on that first day??? Really? Tell me something MEANINGFUL you could get done on day one. ONE THING?? You ARE yesterday. Your policies ARE yesterday. The only thing I see happening on day one is YOU NOT ATTENDING. Why??? Because you CAN'T WIN A NATIONAL ELECTION. That's why.

Truth   January 7th, 2008 9:51 pm ET

The ugly truth is that the US is not ready to elect a woman as a president. Hillary is by far the best candidate, because you cannot promise change without knowing how you would do it...A conservative country would always make sure to keep women away from being in charge. Freedom??? Such a hypocrisy!!!

arleen   January 7th, 2008 9:46 pm ET

OK my American friends, here's what it looks like to Canadians and probably the rest of the world. Americans choose leaders cause they're nice...please grow up.
Americans need someone who is tough, smart, and experienced.

Imagine a really nice guy who is smart but VERY young coming into your office and telling you what to do cause he talks and looks nice.
Do you want a nice doctor or someone who is going to help you get better.

Although I thought Barak Husein Obama's victory speech in Iowa was as inspiring as I've ever seen, it doesn't mean he can be president.
As an ally country I beg my American friends to elect a president based on qualifications rather than good talker and being "likeable".

The world is watching...don't make a mistake please!

Tinman   January 7th, 2008 9:43 pm ET

Hillary your the best...

A woman's place is in the house... The WHITE HOUSE..

lk in NH   January 7th, 2008 9:37 pm ET

Go Hillary! We think you're AWESOME! We know that you can bring about change, since you've been doing it for 35 years.
Obama is a fraud...he flip flops on the issues, he votes present, and he even has a lobbyist as his campaign chair. FRAUD!!!
Hillary, stay strong. And it's ok to get emotional sometimes. Only men out there will put you down for it, but every woman out there remembers the time she broke down crying even though she tried so hard to hold back the tears. We all know those situations, and it's sad that men, like John Edwards, say you're not strong enough because your emotions got to you.

Lisa   January 7th, 2008 9:35 pm ET

The media spin on this whole election is frightening.

I believe Hillary is the better candidate but the media should let us all make up our mind by giving us the FACTS. It is ridiculous that the pundits are calling the race practically over.

What happened to the time when the media would do all the investigation of the records of each of the candidates and discuss those, instead of talking about fluff???

jones   January 7th, 2008 9:34 pm ET

Don't give up Hillary!

Brian   January 7th, 2008 9:33 pm ET

To all the Hillary bashers and Obama supporters go to the website for the Trinity United Church of Christ. This is the church that Barack Obama is a member of and the pastor, Jeremiah Wright is his spiritual advisor. This shows the real inner Barck Obama and his private beliefs are. He has been trying to hide this fact, but now it is coming out.

JohnB   January 7th, 2008 9:33 pm ET

If someone cannot see the humanity, legitimacy or entegrity in Hillary's conversation, then I am afraid my friends, you are in for more of the same the next four years.
Here is a woman who had the COURAGE to let her softside be exposed.
That does take courage.
When she explained how much she cared about this country and why, I was
amazed at the depth she has.
If you attempt to ridicule anyone for being legitimate to the core in front of you then
YOU ARE LOST as a human being.

lolo   January 7th, 2008 9:32 pm ET

Senator   January 7th, 2008 9:30 pm ET

Can anyone honestly understand what he means by HOPE and CHANGE? Does he really think he can solve the problems facing this nation just by uttering those two words again and again. He looks and acts very similar to Bush in 2000. Bush talked the same stuff then i.e. CHANGE and UNITER. See where we are now. I think Americans can think and act better than just blindly following this man. I think he is selling snake oil to his followers.

A VOTE FOR HILLARY....I HOPE THE PEOPLE OF THE USA ARE NOT TO INFULENCED BY THE NEWS MEDIA WHEN THEY VOTE. EVERYTHING IN PRINT IS NOT ALWAYS TURE IT IS THE WORDS OF THE PEOPLE WHO ARE WRITING THE STORY AND HOW THEY PRECEIVE IT. I FEEL THAT SOME OF THE COMMENTS SWAY THE ISSUE. HILLARY HAS MANY YEARS OF EXPERIENCE, AND WILL DO THE BEST JOB AS PRESIDENT. SHE IS WELL SPOKEN AND LISTENS VERY WELL TO PEOPLE'S COMMENTS. SHE HAS MADE MANY CHANGES FOR THE BEST. REMEMBER SHE STARTED THE HEALTHCARE ISSUES. OVER THE PAST 7 YEARS THE PRESIDENT HAS NOT LISTENED TO THE PEOPLE HE HAS HIS OWN ADGENDA..WE NEED SOMEONE WHO LISTENS AND WILL MAKE CHANGES. SHE IS THE PERFECT PERSON WHO WILL DO THIS. BILL CLINTEN WAS A WONDERFUL PRESIDENT HE MADE CHANGES FOR THE BEST AND THEN REPUBLICANS CAME IN AND TURNED IT AROUND AGAIN. I FEEL IN MY HEART THAT HILLARY IS DEDICATED AND WILL DO ALL SHE CAN TO MAKE IT TURN AROUND AGAIN.
PLEASE VOTE FOR HILLARY.

Most of the independent voters in NH are Republican and they will vote for Obama. That is the only strategy they have left. This tactic may work in IOWA and New Hamshire, but it won't work in New York, CA and many other states.
American will elect Hillary Clinton as president of the United States in 2008.

Cheers!

Being from Canada, I would like to thank Americans for the entertainment I am getting out of your primarys. I have followed these campaings for the lat year and there are a few questions that have to be answered. Why has Hillary Clintons past scandals not received any attention? How does she have the nerve to bring up Obama voting against funding the war and then voting for it, when she was so easily fooled or conned into "invading" Iraq to begin with? If Hillary can use the eight years she was in the White House when her husband was President, can the garderner, maids, secretaries, secret service and others also use their time spent at the White House to get them elected President? Get serious. Out of the four remaining serious candidates Hillary ranks 4th.

Ellen   January 7th, 2008 9:24 pm ET

Obama has used the word "change" like he can dictate how this country will be governed. Unfortunately, our presidency doesn't work that way. It is a tremendously difficult job. You have to know how to work with the congress, and Obama does not have that skill.

Before you vote, think very deliberately. Let me pose a question. If, God forbid, on the day before the inauguration our country is hit by a nuclear bomb, do you want Obama to be the one inaugurated? He doesn't have the knowledge or the skill to take on this kind of responsibility. He will have to yield to other people's advice in the matter. One of the reasons our country is broken is because Bush relied on the advice of people who had their own agenda.

I respect Obama's youth, his hope, and his desire for change; however, without knowing exactly how he intends to go about making those changes, we will be traveling on unstable ground.

Dan Seattle, WA   January 7th, 2008 9:19 pm ET

To the Hillary supporters:

I wish her well. She is not my candidate of choice. I don't buy her experience argument (7 years in Senate vs. 4 for Obama + he has 12 years in the state legislature), though I can understand how some people do (assuming the assign first lady as relevant experience for being president). She has a lot of skills and intelligence. I question her judgment–take her Iraq vote. I question her ability to drive real change when she has been part of the entrenched establishment that's gotten us into some of our quandaries.

I'm just tried of all her supporters lambasting me for supporting Obama based on researching both of their positions, skills, and strengths, and still coming down in favor of him.

I'm so glad to see some of Senator Clinton's supporters posting on this blog.

It has been an exciting year......... to watch Hillary's run for the Presidency.

The woman is amazing.

No matter what happens tomorrow in New Hampshire..... Hillary Rodham Clinton has already MADE HISTORY!!!!!!

And she will continue to MAKE HISTORY!!!!

Elliot   January 7th, 2008 9:18 pm ET

Hillary will most certainly have my vote. And if Bill Richardson would run as her VP I would be over joyed. I feel she is the only candidate who is not simply tossing words around to stir the emotions of people hoping for a better life.

I feel she has the plans and determination to move this country forward, regaining the respect of other nations and hopefully within her time fixing the medical issues as well as the deficit which is killing the country

As far as I am concerned using New Hampshire or Iowa as measure of a persons success is ludicrous.

Do you really think they represent a cross section of the American People and the American Values and dreams?

I think "Hillary is an exceptional candidate for this race 08". I hope people realize that we need somebody with experience to provoke change status quo and I see that in Hillary . Not because she is Bill's wife ... looking at her records to accomplishments that she had in her career.

Vote for Hillary.. GO Hillary.

I did not like Hillary before the debate on Saturday and she completely convince me on that debate about her capability of beat the republicans as well as her leadership skills. I really like Obama for president, but not now...in a few years after he has a little of time to measure his ideas with the reality of the office. During the debate he spoke in very general terms many times and other problem is his tendency to hesitate before answering, this will not work in a debate face to face with the republican candidate for president, he has a lot to work towards a more effective debate technique. I started the debate thinking that my only choice was Obama and I was a little disappointed for several reasons:
- first in my opinion, he better distance himself from the populism of John Edwards (that is a very bad road, I am sorry but John Edwards looks and sometimes behaves like a car dealer but instead of cars he tries to sell "change" ...)
-second, if Hillary asked him about his record he shouldn't answer "let's talk about the issues", he should clarify why he changed his vote in congress several times (it is OK to change your vote but you have to explain why and not change the subject ..)
-third, all of them are change (any of the democrats is certainly change) and using the word "change" so repeatedly is not going to work in this very long campaign.
For all of these if I could dream a little now....., I would like to see Hillary as president and Obama as Vice-president. On that way we would get the freshness of ideas from Obama and the experience and toughness of Hillary. Yes, she is tough an she has to be tough if she wants to win this election.

Thank you and good luck for all!

aware   January 7th, 2008 9:11 pm ET

Hillary has my vote and my prayers. I am a pastor's wife and a student of Theology.

The Obama movement worries me. the higher he rises in the polls, the more his arrogance becomes evident and the more his grin starts to look like a Bush smirk.

His style of "rising above it all" is also like Bush whose "my way or the highway" presidency has not produced the unity he promised.

Obama has the Hawaiian "talk story" down pat but seems to lack substance and specificity.

America is a land of hope and opportunity but it didn't get there on the "Be Happy" "Hang Loose" bus.

Hillary is doing just fine. She just needs to be herself, to keep praying and to give thanks.

Hillary is a very special lady with much to offer!

J Williamson Buffalo, NY   January 7th, 2008 9:08 pm ET

I've been supporting John Edwards during this primary season, but have always said that I will vote for the eventual Dem nominee – certainly including Hillary Clinton. I was somewhat bothered by many cynical comments regarding her tearing-up today and wanted to say something in her defence. As a female candidate she's expected to be all so many things at once – tough (in a manly sort of way), womanly (in that "aren't you cute" sort of way) – when she is seemingly being one or the other people are quick to say that she's not tough/womanly depending on the case. The men running certainly don't have to deal with this sort of situation. What do we want in a president? A robot? Something devoid of feelings and emotions? Shouldn't they be just like us – human beings, with human emotions and human attachements – and something short of perfection? Today we saw Mrs. Clinton in what might have been the most geniune moment of the campaign. Who among us has never felt tired or pressured? It wasn't a power-hungry maven I saw in the midst of the political gathering – it was a person who looked just like every other person in that room, alas they have their stories too.

Jim W.   January 7th, 2008 9:05 pm ET

I will never understand how Democrats (and New Hampshire Independents) can vote for someone who espouses 'change' without a smidgeon of details. Its as though someone is standing up, for the first time, and yelling, "We can change the world" and voters are suddenly 'flocking' to him. And it is the unstudied 'flocking' that gives me pause: do these voters know the issues? Have they followed the mini-steps we (The Democratic Party) have had to take to get to this point after the Supreme Court gave Al Gore's election away?

Hillary has had to center herself to insure the general election viability: Senator Obama comes into the game late, and appeals to the leftest wing. He can not carry the general election.

The ONLY change Barack "McGovern" can bring, is a change of Republican administrations. He is the Ralph Nader of 2008. The Democrats of NH are shooting our party in the foot: we will not prevail in November – because we voted for "change" – - whatever the hell he means by that.

Leo   January 7th, 2008 8:58 pm ET

A real leader has the uncanny ability to rally the people around them. So far Mr. Obama has done that and Hillary has not. Hillary, stand up, hold your head high and show the nation you can lead! I believe the people will choose the best leader when all is said and done. This is only the beginning. We have a long way to go in this primary. True leaders rise to the top. So far, Mr. Obama is showing this nation that he can rise to the occasion and lead our country. I am excited. My heart pounds when I hear him speak. That's what a great leader does to people. Look at the lines of people in NH waiting to hear him speak. I can't wait to see him in person. GO OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tom Davie   January 7th, 2008 8:58 pm ET

The BASHING Clinton gets is because she is intelligent , experienced and ready to lead.

Obama is a very good man. However, he is by far NOT the best candidate to run the country.

Clinton , Mc Cain , Guiliani are better candidates. I even think Romney is better but isnt as trustworthy.

The way the media hypes it, its almost like Obama has WON the election.

except he fails to mention he only won 16 delegates to 15 for Clinton and 14 for Edwards in Iowa.

I cant believe how much POWER the media has to HYPE anyone they choose into a ridiculous frenzy.

Mr. Kumar Singh Dhillon: I am also an Indian-American and I strongly disagree with some of your comments. The Indian-American community DOES NOT back Sen. Clinton. in fact, many of the Indians I know are supporters of Sen. Obama. Also, I believe that an African American CAN gain respect. Any intelligent, articulate human being can gain respect, in my opinion. Also, I don't think India will be the next superpower. India has a very huge economic gap between the wealthy and poor. It's infrastructure is very dismal, and the government is notoriously corrupted and slow. I think China has a better chance of being the next superpower in addition to the other permanent members of the UN council.

I have a strong beleief on Hilary Clinton. People want to change, but they do not know what they need to change and how change it going to pleasure them. I don't see it from another candidates, but I can see it from Clinton.
WAY TO GO!

Shae Smith   January 7th, 2008 8:49 pm ET

Hillary please.... is this your trumped up version of Barack's campaign?

Find your own message. Give us a reason to vote FOR you.

Suggestion...."SEE" Barack's optimism and "RAISE" him on experience. People are flocking to his message and feeling.... you aren't offering anything more than the same "political speak".

Meet his optimism with your own special receipe of change – your OWN RECEIPE don't just change the ingredients in Obama's formula.

kenneth   January 7th, 2008 8:49 pm ET

Hillary is the best candidate to become president. She has the best qualities of all the candidates i have seen. I am black, but i am not going for Ubama because he is not the best candidate for our country at these dangerous times. Maybe in the days of peace ,he could make a great president but not now.
It hurts my feelings to see people attack Hillary for everything she says. This has not been a level playing field. She has been held to more scrutiny, criticism and standards. If she cries, she is weak, if she gets tough-she has no emotions and is a feminist. We will be making a great mistake to nominate anybody but Hillary. We've all joined the republican play book in bashing Hillary. She is the smartest, most confident and the most experienced person to become the leader of the free world expecially in this dangerous times.

How great that Hillary has and shows human emotion, and how predictably sexist the male media at CNN in making something out of it and blaming it on her "being tired." Women of New Hampshire, show your emotions Tuesday!

W.A Garner, Ronceverte, WV   January 7th, 2008 8:46 pm ET

Yes, Hillary got emotional, so what?
It only shows that she is passionate abou what she believes.
Reagan got emotional, teared up on several occasions,
and he was never critizied for it....( the two bit actor he was). But, then, this is Hillary bashing,
just like the 8 previous years in the White House.

GaryO Virginia Beach   January 7th, 2008 8:45 pm ET

Hillary is the best individual for the job. No doubt about it.

But, personally, I would like to take a break from hearing about all this "change" stuff for change. Barack wants change, Hillary wants change. Every candidate wants to be president for a change, and what's so new about that? Isn't a desire for change implied when someone takes a shot at the presidency?

At any rate, Hillary is the best chance for the Democrats. The surest way for a Democrat to get a Republican elected is to vote for Barack in the primaries. Obama is just to easy a target for the Republican spin machine. The Republicans can attack Hillary, but only if they resort to their old tried and true tactics of lies, distortion, and innuendo. I think this time around, the American public won't be quite as gullible.

Go Hillary!! Balance the budget like bill did, and clean up the mess GW left us.

A woman's work is never done . . .

Thank you, Hillary, for running.

Elena   January 7th, 2008 8:44 pm ET

We are not sheep to be herded by the media! Hillary is truly our only hope!

Brockport - NY   January 7th, 2008 8:43 pm ET

Well I will say that Hillary definately has passion and has put forth alot of time and effort to get where she is, thats for sure. I know she rides the coat tails of the former president and that has also helped her along. However, you have to respect anyone who is willing to endure the road that all the candidates are currently traveling. So hats off to all of them!!

I would say to alot of people out there, as I am sure you know, that one of the most important things to being a president is surrounding yourself with a good staff. Not only that but you need someone who can be focused and handle the grind, every single day.

You can be sure that she indeed knows what kind of commitment it takes at that level, as she has lived the life herself as the first lady. Hillary strikes me as the kind of person that would surely give 100% to our country. After all....even though she wasn't successful she comitted herself to introducing national health care for everyone back when Bill was President. Although not successful that is one of the many, many, commitments this woman has taken up on the behalf of our nation, not to mention what she has done for children.

All in all if you are a supporter and if by some chance she does get elected....good for her. One thing is for sure, and this is fact. She will challenge herself everday to be better than all previous presidents and especially better than her husband. With her passion, experience and competitiveness you can count on that. Just a note.....the Clinton years were pretty good if I recall. If she can do better than Bill.....thats not all that bad.

Obama.....not so sure about him. He seems like a great speaker, is charming and good looking, but just does not have the experience that I am looking for in a leader. Edwards.....well wasn't he an attorney? Well...need I say more?

In closing I just want to say that I have always been a Democrat. I committed to that party based on my values, morals, hopes and dreams. I have however, recently decided to change my party entirely. My reason for doing this is due to the fact that I am sick and tired of the same old thing year after year. You cant trust any of them due to greed and special interests and that is what has put us where we are at today. Take a look around you. Look at gas prices, the economy in general, our foreign policy. It really disgusts me to the point that I feel sorry for my kids. After all isn't that what its really all about? Our children? Of course our parents tried to look out for us but did they actually succeed? How could they with politicians acting like they do? I dunno. I really didn't even want to vote this upcoming election due to the fact that I feel its beyond fixing and that all candidates are liars. You can't stop corruptness when it has grown this large.

Well I recently gave in and listened to all the candidates in hopes that I could find a gem....someone I could count on for my kids future and also the meager years that I have left in this great nation. I just want to say to everyone....if you are going to vote don't necessarily vote for your party if you dont like any of the candidates. Find one that "YOU KNOW YOU CAN TRUST". A Candidate that stands for what our forefathers stood for. Someone who believes in and values the great constitution of the United States. A candidate that has our interests at heart and not theirs. A candidate that will make a change and build a staff the emulates his own beliefs and goals. Honestly....I can't believe I am actually doing it, but I am converting over to the Republican party and hoping that you will read this article, care enough about our great nation and take the time to hear all of the candidates. Yes....I too want change but I want change for the good of our people of this great nation and if you do as well.....you should take a really long look at Ron Paul. I know what you are all saying but listen to me!!!!! Listen to what he has to say and then come back and blast me. Please......Just take the time....not only for yourself but the future of our children and this great nation. Time is short my friends, if nothing else make sure you take a good look at all the candidates. I am not saying I think you should vote one way or another but you must agree the same old, same old is not what this great nation needs!!!! Ask yourself this......if it were somehow possible to bring people back from the past and we brought back George Washington, Abe Lincoln, or any of our forefathers for that matter.....what would they think of how far off the path we have strayed? Seriously....think about it!!!!

cheryl nebraska   January 7th, 2008 8:42 pm ET

Hillary, because she is a woman, is judged with different standards. It is unfortunate but it is true. I thinks she is so intelligent on so many issues and would make the very best President. You would think after the last 7 years of having someone in office with no real grasp of dealing with issues that this country would not make the same mistake again.

Go HILLARY!!!!

Seam, Philly, Pa   January 7th, 2008 8:41 pm ET

Hillary makes me cry. My tears are flowing down my face. Pathetic. Do we really want a President that cannot control her emotions? One minute, she does all the tough talk, but when she's losing, she gets soft and tearful. She's so fake that it makes me vomit.

Jimmy   January 7th, 2008 8:40 pm ET

Come on America. Lets do it right this time. Lets not do the same thing that we did before. Hillary for President.

Lyle Johnson   January 7th, 2008 8:40 pm ET

Why is it that Senator Clinton's health care plan hasn't been voted on yet in the Senate? Is it because she has not produced one in the several years she has been in the Senate? She has "had a chance" on health care and the Iraq war for several years now.

The party of which she is a part and which she wishes to lead has neither stopped the war nor brought any troops home since taking power in both houses of the Congress; instead there has been a "surge" financed by Congress...

We don't need someone who promises to be President on day one if that person can't be a Senator by day 2,000.

Nancy   January 7th, 2008 8:39 pm ET

Go Hillary! You did great at the debate. Hang tough. You make all the women that came before you proud. Don't let the weirdos (that includes candidates) get to you.

Start to jog or do aerobics everyday and meditate. Jog with a pet dog.

You don't have to answer every question or debate in every state. Don't fear. The angels are watching you from above and protecting you. Don't give up!

Take it easy. Remember, most of the country hasn't even voted yet, you have plenty of time. You are the smartest candidate, you will do a great job for the country as president!

You have my family's vote! Thanks for running.

Thomas   January 7th, 2008 8:37 pm ET

Hillary is going to be a great President. How many more times are the other candidtaes gang up on her, but cry when she returns a little bit of fire? Who is the best prepared, most intelligent, and the most effective candidate – Hillary. I refuse to let a VERY FEW folks from Iowa take us down another risky path with an unknown, untested, and untried person. We did it with Bush, and look at what that got us!

Obama had one of the most liberal voting records when he left the Illinois legislature just 4 years ago. He had frequently promised one thing, and done another. Just because you might want to drink a beer with him (again, the George Bush argument from 2000) more than Hillary, does not make him a viable candidate for President! This is the country, not the Cheers set.

Hillary knows the issues, has been working on them, and wil solve them. Go Hillary Go!

Erik   January 7th, 2008 8:37 pm ET

Wow! I went to Hillary's website and watched the video. I love her. She is very Presidential!

Ginny CA   January 7th, 2008 8:35 pm ET

Finally, some warm postings about Hillary. It has been so difficult to read so many hateful messages about this dedicated, hard-working woman and great American. She has paid her dues, worked-hard, accomplished much for the people of our country, and has more than earned our respect. Her message to the people of New Hampshire was right on.

We love you Hillary and are with you every minute. Sleep tight and wake up to a better day tomorrow. God Bless.

Everytime I hear Obomb-mo speak, he sounds anything but inspiring. It is all catch-phrases with NO concrete experiences in CHANGE given. "Change" needs to be sound, and how can he promise to end the war in such a short time? Even I can figure that we're needed there longer. He's too inexperienced for the job.

America needs someone with substance. Hillary is the choice New Hampshire!

The world is too dangerous for "Changing-diaper" inexperienced leadership and republican tunnel vision.

I know we need someone with experience in the White House. Obama, at this point in time, would be a scary thing. I remember the Carter years and what that brought about. The USA is in a much worse place now than then. I just can't imagine having someone with so little experience as President at this volatile time. Thank you 'Dubya' and the GOP!

HILLARY FOR PRESIDENT 2008!!

By the way, I've seen lot's fo the 'good ol' BOYS' in Washington shed tears. So what's the big deal about Hillary tearing up john williams san diego, ca. Ya might know it would be a male that would have a problem with a woman being emotional. Ya' just can't stand the thought of a WOMAN being smart enough, tough enough and resilient enough to be President of these United States.

HILLARY FOR PRESIDENT 2008!!

F Rodgers   January 7th, 2008 8:23 pm ET

I believe Sen. Clinton's tears were not genuine. If you recall the last N.H. Democratic debate where Sen Obama and Sen Edwards talked about health care and they mentioned that this fight was "personal to me" because individuals close to them were affected by not having full health care. Hillary spinned this and made the words "personal to me" something for her campaign. On the campaign trail, this is not Presidential. Will she start crying in heated negotiations with world leaders? This is evident that SHE is not ready on the first day.

p   January 7th, 2008 8:21 pm ET

Clinton might lose a general election, but I think she would make a better president than Obama.

OMIGOD   January 7th, 2008 8:21 pm ET

I truely hope America will see thru Obama. Puleeeze.....are we kidding? Another guy who is green around the ears in the White House. OMIGOD.... There are those who now criticize Hillary for a little tear. No one criticized Bush for yanking on a few tears on cue. We Americans have a enormous double standard. We call Hillary the ice queen and when she shows emotion she's weak.

I used to live in NH and I truely, truely, truely hope that the NH citizens, go home, get on the web and do research on Obama and his background. You all really need to do some hard homework and look at all the facts. For the future of America and ANY hope of saving jobs from going over seas and saving middle America please go home, don't sleep, hit the internet and read and make a decision based on facts. For the future of a balanced budget, for jobs and for Healthcare.
HILLARY 08!!!!!!

Rob Mitchell   January 7th, 2008 8:20 pm ET

To the person who mentioned an African American president not being able to be taken seriously in foreign countries needs to realize that a woman wouldn't be taken seriously in a lot of eastern territories like the Middle East, India, and China–countries where we have some major economic ties. I hardly think race or gender should play a factor in your vote because all of the Democratic candidates bring a different ethnicity to the table.

Right now, I believe that Barack Obama is the best thing for the country. He's a charismatic leader and is willing to bring about change and reform a lot of the flaws in this country. He's already bringing a lot of new voters into the political world to see what he's about. His big thing is bringing the American people into the choices of the country, and he's already done that.

He'll do his best to deliver on his word, but obviously, in 4-8 years, he can't do it all–no candidate could. What he can do in 4-8 years is create a government where the people are much more involved and knowledgeable of their country's ongoings. That way, people won't be so blind as to invade Iraq or advocate things like the Patriot Act or the incomplete No Child Left Behind.

Jason, Baltimore MD   January 7th, 2008 8:16 pm ET

Experience and real change is what Hillary is all about. Give Hillary a Chance and you will see.

Joseph   January 7th, 2008 8:07 pm ET

Nice to see some positive comments about Hillary.

It really hurt my feelings, even as a male, to see negative bashing about Hillary when she got emotional, talk about double standard, people applauded Bill for being emotional, Bush for being emotional, Reagan, but with Hillary, "she's not fit to be president if she gets all tearful."

To all my gal pals, you should not tolerate this type of bashing against women in general. It's got to stop.

Be civil!

Mike   January 7th, 2008 8:07 pm ET

I love Hillary's message to the voters of NH. She's a great woman and she sends a great message. So what if she cried, she's passionate about what she's doing. What any of them are doing is not easy at all, they're all tired but they're going to keep kicking butt until we have a nominee.

God Bless you Hilliary:
I've been with you from the start. Not only are you the best Democratic candidate, But you are the only one who can beat the Republcans. Doesn't anyone see why the Republicans and their pundits are all but endorsing Obama. Wake up people this country cannot stand 4 more years of Replublican rule.

George Hague   January 7th, 2008 8:06 pm ET

I'm shocked at the Hillary bashing and the unfetted love affair with Obama. Excatly WHAT has Obama ever done? He has 24 months as a US Senator and some time in the State legislature, and he has spent every minute of it running for higher office and doing nothing in the office he holds. People in this country seem to be so enthralled with the notion of a Black President that they are willing to put this "Empty Suit" into office just because he's black.

Natalie   January 7th, 2008 8:05 pm ET

I can certainly understand the optimism and the inspiration that all Americans are feeling from Obama's campaign. I am behind change through experience. I am a bit weary of individuals who run under the guise of change and uniting the country but do not have the track record to back them up. No matter who is elected into the white house it will be a stark change from the current administration.
Isn't it something that the great debate over 2008 is whether to elect a women or an African American for president!

CL   January 7th, 2008 8:05 pm ET

no matter what happens in NH with messages like this, it's NOT OVER! GO HILLARY! keep talking about experience!

HILLARY WHY DID YOU WAIT SO LONG TO DISCLOSE THESE RECORDS. YOU GOT MY SUPPORT"

thank you. Of course he isn't talking – he is afraid. So where the talk obama? not the singing/preaching. where is the talk?

John   January 7th, 2008 8:02 pm ET

If you read up a little on Hillary's past you will see that she has been genuinely passionate about this country since an early age. I do not understand the bashing she receives. I suspect that some people feel threatened by her intelligence. I say, get over it. We need somebody who is smart and experienced in the White House. And if you really want change and a new perspective, having a woman for president is more change than this country has ever had. Voting for Hillary Clinton is a forward thinking thing to do.

Kevin,FL   January 7th, 2008 8:01 pm ET

I think Clinton will WIN NH because McCain will take the Indie Votes away from Obama which will lead the Dems to Vote Clinton.. McCain will win NH on the GOP side Just Like he Did in 2000.. NH Voters dont vote by polls they vote the way they want to vote so all these polls could mean NOTHING!!

M K M   January 7th, 2008 8:01 pm ET

Hillary in 2008 She is experienced, qualified and ready to take this country in a new direction! She has shown her strength by not caving in to her critics who are afraid of a strong, intelligent woman. Just because she was not a good little first lady without an opinion of their own, Hillary took on a huge burden with the health care issue. If she had not been the first lady, the howling would not have been so loud. Men have run this country into the ground. Take a look at all the women as head of state in other countries. The petty little egos that are afraid of sharing power should go retire to Florida or Texas and let Hillary show them how to lead a country.

Josalyn   January 7th, 2008 8:01 pm ET

Clinton will win the democratic nomination, hands down. She's the best person for the presidency. Obama has no idea what he's doing. It's a shame that his little song and dance has fooled so many Americans.

kris   January 7th, 2008 8:00 pm ET

do u mean the War u sent them to with ur vote for no good reason?????

Dean Wescott in NH   January 7th, 2008 8:00 pm ET

Hillary most certainly has my support and my vote. She is a wonderful woman and a great Democrat who takes everything she does seriously. I do want a
President with great experience – someone not too young, not too old – a President in the prime of life, with many hardships behind her and a proven
track record.

The fact she is a woman and would be the first woman to break the glass ceiling of Presidential politics is also a wonderful thing.

Jason   January 7th, 2008 7:59 pm ET

In appealing to every woman voter in our beloved country to vote for Hillary, I say humbly: If not you, who? If not now, when?

Jeff Spangler, Arlington, VA   January 7th, 2008 7:58 pm ET

No, Hillary. Stop the American people when they get to the part of that answer you don't understand. Then go home, preferably to Illinois to watch a tenement organizing Harvard guy fight it out with a real lawyer.

Charles T, VA   January 7th, 2008 7:57 pm ET

Democrats will lose this election if Hillary is nominated and that is the truth they know it. Obama will give us a fighting chance to, and will WIN IT. I can't believe how crazy democrats are to vote for hillary it beats my imagination.

1) If Hillary is nominated expect an Independent candidate to come out, half of Obamas supporters will go there and all Independents will go there so where is the strength of the democrats, when all republicans are charged up seeing hillary? Or will you guys blame Independents and Obamas supporters if democrats lose?

2) Republicans will dust Hillary and democrats will lose the white house not having a credible candidate for the future because there won't be Obama there.

3) With Obama here now for now only the race is up for grabs and Republicans will have trouble keeping some members as republicans. Obama will win the democratic, independent and some republican votes.

4) Please democrats we can't afford to fail again, and we should stop the fight between the Clinton and Obama supporters we need to unite.

5) At this hour the republican big wigs are meeting to draw up a new strategy to stop Obama from winning more republicans and to fight him.

6) This is your last chance for the next 16 years and I mean 16 years because our future will be all about security if a repub wins again.

7) And I am so sick and TIRED of people saying Obama does not have specifics. If you are serious then visit his website and get the nitty-gritty details of his plan. Are you guys kidding me? or are you all so lazy or stupid and can't do a research. Never expect details on the trail but get it from Obamas mail or his website so stop being biased.

Thank you and may God help us if we decide to screw this up again. The choice is yours out there.

bon   January 7th, 2008 7:56 pm ET

Obama's call for change would have more believable if he'd channel his efforts to build a new political party and present an alternative to the current situation. There is no point in calling for change within the present two-party system because these parties are essentially one and the same entity. Same dog different collars.

San Francisco, California   January 7th, 2008 7:56 pm ET

Obama is a chosen candidate for president 8 years back. The machine began assembling itself 8 years back. The plan was in the works to make this man president because he was praised for his speaking ability at the democratic primarily 8 years back. This is not a movement for change. This is nothing more then a orchestrated plan created by a group of politicians who wanted to get back into the white-house. Do your homework people and you'll see how much of an establishment element Obama really is. The real movement for America is to see through all the fascade......please do your homework, ask for specifics and demand a proven record for change. If you get none then there is nothing there to begin with. If it looks like a cow, smell like a cow, sound like a cow.....it is a cow.

LV   January 7th, 2008 7:54 pm ET

I recognize that we have all become synical towards politicians in general. However, it is unfair for us to use a different set of expectations for each candidate based upon what is most appealing. I am a Hillary supporter and will continue to provide her my unconditional support because I believe in my heart that she can get us out of the compromising position that Bush has placed us in.

Apparently, a few beautiful words from Obama has everyone fooled to the extent that we are allowing a candidate of his caliber to move forward. He is full of false promises and has not demonstrated that he is capable of carrying out the "dream" that he refers to. Yes, I agree he is inspirational but words won't get the job done. If Obama is the candidate for the Democrats I am voting Republican because I am afraid to think of what will happen to this country if it falls into his hands. Stop bashing Hillary and for a moment stop and think about what is really happening in front of our eyes.

Lastly, I respect her even more so for having the courage to demonstrate she is human and this is a result of her demonstration of emotion on t.v.

Ruth Lalonde   January 7th, 2008 7:54 pm ET

Hillary I am so glad you are running, We need the strength and leadership you offer. Obama is exciting, but he sounds like he is leading a revival meeting. He doesn't tell anyone how he will solve all of the problems. Will he just stand up and give another rousing speech ???

Naston   January 7th, 2008 7:53 pm ET

Hillary is correct!! We need a person that is ready. People made the mistake of listening to promises and we got Bush. I want to know what we get this time.. and that's Hillary.. She brings should new to the table from Bill. " She's smarter".

The media has bitten into the Obama apple and putting the spin to see him in the office. They joined with Bush (didn't do their homework) and we ended up in Iraq.

I watch MSNBC every day but have to tell you they are starting to sound more like the FOX network – only preaching Obama. Hardball has become Obama-ball. In Iowa they made the point that 70 percent of the people voted against Hillary. This was a FOX type of spin. It's these little spins that send the message that Obama won a LOT bigger thathe really did.

We (the people) had better wake up or we will be handed a fine man.. but one without a clue on the big job that awaits the next president. The system will eat him alive and of course make everything his fault... Hillary knows the system – good or bad – it's the system we have out courts, our congress, our constitution, She WILL make a difference.

jw   January 7th, 2008 7:53 pm ET

Whatever happens in NH, Hillary is in this for the long haul. We need a president who is smart and tough, and cares enough about America to have devoted her life to public service. She gets my vote and my trust in '08.

Jim   January 7th, 2008 7:53 pm ET

I have known the Clintons since heir days in Arkansas, and I can tell you: When Bill and Hillary made a promise to me on supporting our soldiers and imrproving education and keeping jobs from leaving the state, they kept them. Hillary knows what she's doing, has far outworked and outprepared Mr. Obama, and means what she says. She is not out running around showing off her vocabulary and testing inaugural address lines. She is serious about what she's doing and will take that seriousness into the White House. Enough already about Mr. Obama and his sidekick, Mr. Edwards. They are empty suits who lack a resume and the depth to secure our future, protect our country, and get to woek. Governemnt is not about preening for the camera, coming up with the latest sound bite. Government is about substance, not platitudes. To listen to Mr. Obama today, he's all but measured the Oval Office for drapes. Be careful of a man who seems to eager and too self-assured. He wants all of us to vote first, then ask questions. Mrs. Clinton is the real deal and in her you'll get a first-rate thinker and DOER. Go slow on this and make sure you truly know these guys and then go vote. It's too important to leave to a used car saleasman and ambulance chaser.

Mikhail   January 7th, 2008 7:52 pm ET

Hillary, Hillary, Hillary. Im sorry. You do deserve to be the first woman president. Actually I would rather you be president first rather than any other women we have seen. We know you but were just not ready. Your fight dosent end here, unless you let it. Face it, you are going to lose to senator Barack Obama. If you become president after him we just might have the utopia everyone wants. Not right now though.

Kumar Singh Dhillon   January 7th, 2008 7:51 pm ET

I think that Mrs Clinton is a better candidate for the Presidency due to her intelligence and knowledge of world affairs. I do no think that an african american will be able to command national or international respect. Mrs Clinton also has the support of Indian-American votes and this alliance will be good as India is the next super power.

Hel n roy   January 7th, 2008 7:50 pm ET

Hillary is the best of the best. As for Obama he has ahell of a nerve to even mention JFK and Bobby. He is not worthy of th sweat off their brow. His dirty trick phone calls last nite were the talk of the office today as were John Edwards. Both of you are worthless trash! I will vote republican in Nov. if either of you are nominated at the convention. I have not ever voted Rep. and I have been voting for 40 years. Yes I voted for JFK so I know what a crock you two are.

Duncan, Richmond, VA   January 7th, 2008 7:48 pm ET

"We're a nation at war in a dangerous world."

I really dislike this 'at war' stuff. Congres never declared war and the people in the US are not in a war setting. We have not raised taxes to pay for the war, there is no draft, we are still able to buy huge vehicles, big screen TV's and our food supply is only limited by the amount of money we have..

Make 'war' painful for the people at home and suddenly we won't be 'at war' anymore.

Marko Dezdri, Portland, OR   January 7th, 2008 7:48 pm ET

GO HILLARY! I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH! I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU WIN!

Shelly   January 7th, 2008 7:46 pm ET

jhon smith   January 7th, 2008 7:45 pm ET

HUSSEIN BARACK OBAMA WILL FIND OUT THE HARD WAY ON SUPER TUESDAY. THE RIGHT WING REPUBLICAN WANT HIM TO BE THE DEMOCRATS NOMINEE BECAUSE HUSSEIN BARACK OBAMA IS CATCH FOR THEM.

Kate McCusker   January 7th, 2008 7:44 pm ET

Barack is promise...Hillary is prepared. Barack is a good speech...Hillary is straight talk. Barack is up in an ivory tower...Hillary is on solid ground. Barack is still an optimistic kid...Hillary is a realistic Mom.

But, unfortunately, who wouldn't rather stay out and play after dark instead of going home for dinner?

dj   January 7th, 2008 7:44 pm ET

I am an African American male, and my vote is for Hilary Clinton. Obama is not ready to be the president. With the sate of the world the way it is, we can't afford to have another president who is going to get on the job training. We had that with Bush and look at what happened. Expericence is not a bad thing, and if you've learned anything from experience, it's that you must change with the times or be left out in the cold.

Jack   January 7th, 2008 7:43 pm ET

If you think Obama can beat John McCain, you are out of your mind!! Hillary's experience will stand strong against the republican machine!! She may be a woman with feelings...God knows we need a president with feelings.....!! Not some air filled promises of things that could be of change....Look at her track record!!!

jhon smith   January 7th, 2008 7:42 pm ET

HILLARY WILL THE WINNER AT THE END.PEOPLE WILL SOON FIND OUT ABOUT OBAMA RECORDS. HE IS FLIP-FLOPER HE VOTED 79 TIMES PRESENT INSTEAD TO YES OR NO. THAT'S A CHANGE. THE MAN IS WHISHIEB WASHI.

She will make a comeback, I'm sure of it.

Why do we judge her so much when we do not look at ourselves. She is just a strong and smart woman trying to make a big difference in our nation

Walt, Belton, TX   January 7th, 2008 7:35 pm ET

She just needs somebody to tell her they love her...................................

chris b   January 7th, 2008 7:35 pm ET

nice ad, however one still can't ignore the fact that with the election of Mrs Clinton to the White House the dynsty of the country being run by esstianaly two familes for the last 16 years can not be overloooked. (Bush/Clinton/Clinton,Bush/Bush). it is really time for a change no doubt. However there is no easy fix for the mess that the current adminstration is going to leave behind. What is the exit strategy for Iraq? To cut and run means bascially all the soldiers have died in vain. Your health problems are huge, how is it that approx. 47 million americans don't have health care, yet the military and government keeps getting bigger and bigger.

These comments are from an outsider north of the border in Canada, I watch with amusement and concern for your country. Your electoral process is most interesting, but leaves the current Bush with nothing to do as it appears the last year of an administration is a road trip saying good bye, and accomplishing very little.

Homeland security is a red herring, to draw your attention away from what is really ailing the country. That is a lack of truthfulness and leadership by the current resident at the White House.

Whomever you choose to send to the White House has a huge job ahead of them, choose wisely my american friends.

sam   January 7th, 2008 7:35 pm ET

Hillary, all you care about is your ego. Forget it! It's over.

Paul Naranjo   January 7th, 2008 7:34 pm ET

She can realy make a difference in this great nation. There s a need for change and has to occur now

Anonymous   January 7th, 2008 7:33 pm ET

Hillary/Obama ticket...out with the good 'ole boys network and in with the new.

Scott   January 7th, 2008 7:31 pm ET

Hillary is the most CAPABLE. I strongly urge Americans to stop judging candidates on their personalities, to stop relying on public perception and to judge the candidates on the issues. LISTEN UP! Obama has yet to be specific on most topics. Hillary's record is stellar and is evidence that she is capable of leading this country. Her emotional display only reaffirms to me that she sincerely wants to run this country for the betterment of its' people. SNAP OUT OF IT. Bush was enough of a mistake.. Don't count Hillary out–listen to her!

mb   January 7th, 2008 7:28 pm ET

I just can't believe anything that comes out of her mouth.

Tim, Minnesota   January 7th, 2008 7:28 pm ET

Darn, I was hoping she would of talked a little bit about "Chinagate"

ngassa mssika   January 7th, 2008 7:25 pm ET

Nothing new...she needs to realize that she can not do what she and many other previous Presidential candidates promised to do. I am hurt by the fact that our politicians know what is good for our country and its people, yet fail do deliver once they get elected. It is time for a complete overhaul...sorry Mrs. Clinton, you are smart, brave and courageous but won't be able to turn the ship around!

Thanks

Mssika
