Larry Craig is appealing his sex sting conviction.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Lawyers for Sen. Larry Craig asked a Minnesota appeals court Tuesday to allow him to withdraw his guilty plea stemming from his June arrest in a public bathroom sex sting, citing a "grave procedural flaw."

The Idaho Republican argues that a state law related to his misdemeanor conviction is unconstitutional and that it "manifestly unjust" not to allow the lawmaker to be given another chance to prove his innocence.

It says alot about the GOP that this guy is still in the news.

How can it be unconstitutional ? He was charged and pleaded guilty. I hope they laugh him out of court and then fine him for wasting time.

Please give this up Mr. Craig, your reputation is permanently ruined, have some dignity and resign. But actually it's too late to resign with dignity, since you keep fighting it so much. This "procedural flaw" argument just sounds like some last ditch effort your lawyer dug up… meanwhile it amuses but annoys the rest of the nation that you can't just accept that your career is over. No one thinks you didn't do it, and now it doesn't matter if you did or not, because you've made yourself look worse by not leaving office right away. If you left office, that would show remorse, and the public could accept that you are sick but at least you are sorry for it, and everyone would have forgotten about this almost immediately. Fighting it shows you have no remorse and no respect for the public, and now you will go down in history even worse, as a pervert in denial.

He was caught being a pervert. When he realized he might lose his sweet government gig, riding high on the hog at taxpayer's expense, he changes his plans to resign, a comment he never intended to make.. Never mind that this was a SECOND lie; when you're parasite, latched on to a healthy vein, like a tick on a dog's ear, you'll do anything to stay attached….. dedicated public servant, right:….

Meanwhile, the government is spending thousands of dollars (our dollars) for an "ethics"investigation. Craig made a WRITTEN plea, indicated that he CLEARLY understood what he was doing, and that he was indeed GUILTY of the crime he pled to.

Now he's changed his mind, and wants to fight a "grave injustice". The only "grave injustice" is how stupid Craig is…….

When we allow our elected leaders to set this kind of example, we can only blame ourselves when things go to h***. Honor, sincerity, leadership, hard work, complex thinking, working for the common good, moral character, and humor have all seemed to be beyond this man, and many others in office. Use your votes people.

Guess who's back, and just in time for the elections
great timing Craig

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Vince   January 8th, 2008 7:03 pm ET

PUH…LEASE!!! Stop it already!

Donald, Butte, MT   January 8th, 2008 7:02 pm ET

RESIGN and go home!!!

The Senate should have already censured him and removed him from the Senate. Every day he stays in office is an affront to the Senate and this country!!!

Audley E. Noughe   January 8th, 2008 6:56 pm ET

It was gratifying to read recently that Senator Larry Craig successfully passed his polygraph examination regarding this and we can now put this whole matter behind us.
