Watch Clinton take her turn as a flight attendant Thursday.

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (CNN) - In her most cheerful flight attendant voice, Hillary Clinton Wednesday night welcomed the press on the maiden voyage of a charter jet her campaign has dubbed 'Hill Force 1'.

"Hi my name is Hillary, and I am pleased to have most of you on board," she chirped over the PA system.

Prior to Wednesday the press and Clinton usually flew in separate airplanes.

Departing Las Vegas en route to Reno, Clinton warned the press not to use electronic devices that could "transmit a negative story."

And she urged the press to keep seat belts fastened because, "I have learned lately that things can get awfully bumpy."

Clinton, seeming to read off a provided script, added, "that in the event of an unexpected drop in the poll numbers" the plane would be diverted to New Hampshire.

In flight entertainment, the New York Democrat said, would consist of her stump speech.

And she told passengers that if they looked out the right of the plane they would see an "America saddled with tax cuts for the wealthiest and a war without end," and if they looked out the left they would, "see an America with a strong middle class at home and a strong reputation in the world."

She ended her welcome by saying, "We know you have a choice when you fly - so we are grateful that you have chosen the plane with the most experienced candidate."

Since she flew in an plane, can she now add "pilot" to that vast "experience-packed" 35-year resume of hers?

CR   January 18th, 2008 1:43 pm ET

I completely agree with the statement made by the sender named "Bill": "Ok, on her own airplane she can't let her hair down and show a lighter side to all of this non-sense? It seems that all of the Hillary bashers on here are a bit fearful of something huh? Maybe that she is in fact the best choice for president and all of the Hillary bashers with their lil weenies and no balls can't handle a woman. Not that it should matter but I am a male. and fully supports Hillary CLinton". WELL-SAID!

Regarding the comments from "flight attendant, northwest airlines": You must be delusional to imply, by any means, that Hillary was disrespectful towards flight attendants!

As other participants of this ongoing discussion have said, I hope the Hillary haters will stop their non-fundamented accusations, which are NOT based on intellectual and political issues, and start discussing what really matters to this country: the troubled economy, our decadent health insurance, the crisis in the educational system, and the war in Iraq, just to name a few.

Bob Delaney   January 18th, 2008 7:37 am ET

I am really startled by the diatribe towards Hillary. Why does she evoke so much hatred?I guess even the pundits can't honestly answer that question.
I do not like Obama...in fact ,I heard his wife speak at a smalltown meeting in New Hampshire and was greatly impressed with her spontaneously delivered
message of hope.
I do not look for a message of hope. While I am concerned about tomorrow for my grandchildren,I am much more concerned about the realities of actually getting, safely,to tomorrow.Everytime a citizen votes,it is with hope. The difference between the votes is the confidence one places in the candidates.
If the same hatred were put forth towards Obama, who wouldn't be called a 'racist' on the face of it.?..
Obama speaks in a constantly hesitant voice seeking the words of placating generalities...never of a specific plan beyond 'hope'.
I am in total agreement with the Edwards proposition that the press does ignore him at the expense of his message of populism. While he may seem to be a
hollywood made up drawl at times..he has the only message that resonates for me.
But I certainly will vote, and advocate for ANY one besides any repulican, the party that is completely unaware of nothing beyond its' own pockets of total greed.
Well...maybe Ron Paul...who I disagree with on several issues...but who is
H O N E S T.What a very rare quality.

I think I need an air sickness bag.

This was basically another venue for Mrs. Clinton to slam home all her favorite talking points, disguised as a cutesy photo opp.

"The most experienced candidate"...without any specifics or results to show for it.

"War without end"...that she voted for and endorsed.

Please show me the emergency exits. I want off.

flight attendant, northwest airlines   January 18th, 2008 12:54 am ET

As a flight attendant, I was not happy to see this video. What we do everyday in the air is important and not a joke. I did support the Clintons, but have now decided not to follow through. This is really disappointing on many levels. Working for an airline is not a joke. As a woman, I would expect her to have a little sensitivity about her actions, instead she decided for another photo moment to support her campaign and make light of a job that I do everyday.

BLACK PEOPLE WAKE UP. PLEASE READ ABOUT CLINTON AND HER GOLDWATER DAYS: Young Hillary Rodham answered that challenge the next year as the 17-year-old class president at Maine East High School in the Chicago suburbs. She described herself in her memoirs as "an active Young Republican" and "a Goldwater girl, right down to my cowgirl outfit." As a politically attuned honor student, she must have known that Goldwater was one of only six Republican senators who joined Southern Democratic segregationists opposing the historic voting rights act of 1964 inspired by King. Hillary headed the Young Republicans at Wellesley College as a freshman before defecting to the Democrats there. But when in 1969 at age 22 she was the first Wellesley student to deliver the commencement address, she did not place civil rights first. She talked about a demonstration in Founder's parking lot at the college that "protested against the rigid academic distribution requirement" and supported "a pass-fail system" and "a say" in "academic decision making." That was not quite Martin Luther King's agenda. THIS WOMAN IS NOT FOR US. THIS WOMAN IS FOR HERSELF. NOW: How can she support Dr. King and Goldwater (segregationist) in the same year. They stood for total opposite things. If you black people (and yes, I am a black female), don't start reading and getting educated about the Clintons, you are gonna find out the hard way, that in her blood, she and Bill are republicans. They know that without dumb black people like Magic Johnson and Bob Johnson, they don't stand a chance. We can tell them NO. We have the power, and in this election, BLACK PEOPLE, WE ARE THE MAJORITY. WE can stop them. I challenge each person supporting Clinton to read about her history. She said she would answer questions, she said to inquire about everyone running, so let's inquire. Ask Bill about Fulbright. Don't be afraid of their answers. Don't be afraid to watch them squirmish and come up with some good excuse for this.

Analyst   January 17th, 2008 10:02 pm ET

I should never have read these "comments". It sucked some of my work time. I admit though, I was captivated, not by the content mostly but by the high emotionality & irrationality of the Obamaphiles. When the media likened Obama's "popularity" to "rock star" status, now I see what may have prompted it. The b&w film footages of shrill, screaming girls awaiting the arrival of Beatles came into my mind when I read some of the comments by Obama supporters. Yet, I get the impression that the "support" for Obama is based mostly on his "likeability" & "personality" and not on the substance of where he stands on issues of national importance. What is his plan to bring "change"? Such rhetoric & slogan is the same old stuff every 4 yrs. In 2000, it was "We can do better."

Hillary is a tough lady & she has proven this over the "35 yrs". I respect her for that reason especially in light of what she had to endure on her campaign. Compared to her, Obama does not seem so tough. Maybe that picture of him in speedos at the beach was a bad idea on his part.

armand January 17, 2008 9:51 am ET

"She's going to be a flight attendant after Obama beats her here Nevada. We Culinary workers will bring him the victory and he will double our pay when he becomes president and make everyone a legal immigrant and protect our rights!"

You culinary workers of NV are only 60K. You, armand, are the reason why American majority would not elect Obama. He's viewed as too much to the left & to win the red states, dems need a moderate/centrist. Most immigrants (legal/illegal from south of the border) are here on account of Reagan's amnesty & the Republican hypocrisy thereafter. Majority of Americans are against amnesty and illegal immigration. Is no one connecting the influx of illegal immigrants during the Bush admin to the current state of economy with the recession looming? Ok, outsourcing & subprime & gas prices are major factors too but seems to me that illegal immigration is up there. Much of subprime woes in CA is in direct correlation with home purchase by the illegal immigrants.

Most mexicans dislike blacks and vice versa. Just look at L.A. I highly doubt that many Californian hispanics eligible to vote will be voting for Obama. If Obama indeed becomes dem presidential candidate, we may have another 4 yrs of republican white house & dem congress where nothing will get done. I personally am not that thrilled by the dem candidates but America needs a dem in the white house. Of the two, Hillary is more qualified than Obama, period.

Kelvin from newyork city   January 17th, 2008 8:50 pm ET

For some of the comments i have read i think some people should think before they talk. I don't want another election like 2000 when the votes were not counted and run into war. Also for the people who like Hillary keep up the good work, that is to say you want the country to go forward and not backwards and on the other hand for the people who like war i think thats evil as in upsetting i want peace don't wait for something to happen to say (Oh god) it just might be to late and please stop the hate and vote for Hillary for 2008.

Oh, isn't that so sweet of Hillary. Just another ploy so she can try to look human. Must be another publicity stunt to show she's such a kind, caring, wonderful, considerate, gentle person. Gosh, I feel the tears flowing now. Wonder when we'll start seeing all the friends and relatives start showing up again telling everyone within earshot what a kind, caring, wonderful, considerate, gentle person Hillary is. And you all thought Mother Theresa was an outstanding person. She doesn't hold a candle to Hillary. I understand the Catholic Church is about to make her a Saint; Saint Hillary the Wonderful!! Well done, Hillary. You can quit your day job (campaigning) and go work for any airline at any time. What a crock! Do you REALLY think you are cute and entertaining? Your husband offers better favors than you and would probably land the airline job before you.

OMG.. is she really that desperate? I'm actually starting to feel sorry for her. Does she really think that intelligent people would find that funny? And, why does she keep talking about her experience? She has much less experience in government than Obama does. Or, do you think that we should really be counting her years as first lady as experience? I don't think so! And, what's with Bill getting all angry at reporters? Is he running for president again? Give me a break!

OBAMA4EVER   January 17th, 2008 7:53 pm ET

I seriously think Hillary's campaign pays people to write postive comments about her on blogs, such as this....LOL scroll up to look at some of the comments....her appraisal looks completely ridiculous....i fail to believe actual voters would praise a calculative, cannivying, two-faced woman like Hillary who believes in disenfranchising voters when it works against her.

I greatly respect and admire Mrs. Clinton, and I fundamentally believe that she is the most qualified candidate to run this country. It's also nice to see that she has compassion and, albeit silly, a sense of humor, which is so unlike our current President and many of the other candidates (with Mr. Obama being another exception). I have already voted her by absentee ballot in California. Go Hilary, and I look forward to saying "Madam President" in 2008.

No problem Frankly, I have already voted against her on my absentee ballot. And if she wins, I also look forward to calling her my-dam president

So are we going to rename ourselves "Clinterica" or the "Pink House" if she wins? I mean come on.... first Bill goes on the attack and shows how nasty and vindictive they can be, and the Hillary lays on the softer side and cries to win some votes.

Hillary – how can you be in two places at once?

Aren't you exceedingly wealthy? Didn't you vote favorably for the war? If you'd like to make things right and hand out some of the tax rewards you're saddled with we'll be happy to line up for that. Maybe you're spending it all on a time machine so you can go back and vote against the war from the start.

I think it's exactly correct, most Americans are trapped in a war without end, and housing crisis, medical crisis and the most experienced are necessary to work us through these crisis's. Not just everyone saying we need change, because all candidates say that, but Senator Clinton has a proven record of working for people.

I really feel she is someone that you would want to know and a good example for young women and girls, to be a strong leader, a strong woman and person. I'm glad she is showing a little of her own personality. She is really likeable.

Honestly, I supported Bill Clinton is both of his runs. I do believe these two have become the most power hungry politicians on the planet – or at least the part that is English speaking? I am a long time, registered Independent and for the life of me – I am totally baffled by the current Clinton support. Bill Clinton is not on the ballot, folks. I am of the same era as Hillary Clinton, so I know what she has had to battle for women's rights. As a professional woman – I have been there and one that, too. But, Hillary? It's over, honey. Get the chip off of your shoulder. You are not Bill, you are not funny, you have no record to speak of that you can call your own, you are status quo – too decisive. It will never work with you in the White House and not because you are a woman, Hillary. Simply, you are too arrogant and you have lived in a bubble way too long. No originality. Every part of your campaign has been a take off from Obama's or Edwards'. Personal for you? Change for us? Zero originality. I am amazed that you have the support that you do and can only derive that these folks think that a vote for you, is equating to a third term for your husband. Do we want Bill Clinton for a third term? I do not. Enough is enough. Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton? Come in Toyoko? And I certainly do not think you have the experience and the heart to lead us as a busted nation. Wake up America, before it honestly is too late.

But, the choice was Regan. Remember all of us cross over democrates? In retrospect I wish I hadn't. Remember when we could deduct the interest we paid on credit cards ,automobiles, etc. off our taxes? Guess which president got that taken away. Don't forget the 19% interest rate on a home loan. The president who taxed us the most, was none other than Ronnie. Not to mention Iran Contra, Regan probable didn"t recall this or that, but you can bet Bush Sr. did. Thank goodness that I am Canadian.... This is more entertaining than watching 2 polar bears mate... on second thought, maybe it isn't.

Good luck solving problems my friends to the south, a bit more focus on the REAL issues (not necessarily the ones the media focuses on) and turning around the US economy might be possible... if not, how do you say thank you in Cantonese again?

Kate   January 17th, 2008 2:06 pm ET

Jesus, people. Get a sense of humor. If you can't laugh at it, don't read it.

Jeff   January 17th, 2008 2:05 pm ET

Just from all the irrational comments about Hillary here, it'll be a riot to know how hysterical you Reich-wingers are going to be when she's running this country and returns accountability to the government. Put the grownups in charge, like Bush ***said*** he was going to–whatever happened to that anyway?

Hillary Clinton has never done anything to you. If you have such an irrational hatred toward her, it says lots more about you than it does her. Get yourself a mirror.

Go Hillary.

Mrs Clinton is an inspiration to us all. She would make sure the US os A

left out and are sad that the americans are cruel to us!!!

Team Clintonspeaks with one voice, thinks with one brain and acts for one purpose and that is to get the Clintons back into the White house.

I don't care whom you support this does not pass the gut check!

Mike, Milwaukee, WI   January 17th, 2008 1:49 pm ET

Look at these comments......Is this not the most Polarizing PERSON ever? And to think over 40% of Democrats really want to go through this for another 10 months......

For the record, I think the speech is clever and it was actually funny, but im still for OBAMA in 08

If this is not the stupidest thing I ever heard, it is near the top of the list. Of course, what can you expect from Hillary Clinton. Then again, if you don't like Hillary's current personality, just wait a few hours, it, like the weather, will change.

WOMEN FOR HILLARY!!!!!!!! far out number you men.

c   January 17th, 2008 1:36 pm ET

I don't understand how Obama supporters, supposedly inspired by a campaign based on positivity and hope, can be so plainly hateful to Hillary on a mostly personal level. Next time have as much class as the candidate you're trying to defend. Stop dividing the party at a time when we need unity the most.

Frank Mayans   January 17th, 2008 1:35 pm ET

Very cute, I would have loved to be on that HILL Force 1

charlotte   January 17th, 2008 1:35 pm ET

I knew this would be twisted!! I am a democrat, and for any democrate to say they would vote for one of these republicans is sickening. Don't get me wrong I have voted for a republician. Not to mention Iran Contra, Regan probable didn"t recall this or that, but you can bet Bush Sr. did. Talk about lies, shredded documents, Oliver North and others.

Dwayne-New Jersey   January 17th, 2008 1:32 pm ET

When I read this I thought it was funny. She is human like everyone else. She has faults and I'm sure she has made mistakes. I must admit that despite the negativity from the media and the seemingly "hurdle" of being a woman I believe she has just been gracious, strong and focused in the midst of the storm. She will make a fine President! I doubt I could deal with all the stress of the campaign (especially as I am an African-American) as well as she is handling it.

To The Strong and Fine Senator from New York- You have my support !!!

Chris-Seattle   January 17th, 2008 1:27 pm ET

How much human side do you really need to read from a piece of paper that you probably didn't even write yourself. Quite frankly I didn't laugh nor was I impressed with her attempt at humor. I think it takes a lot more human in a person to not give scripted speeches and opinions. It not only shows you have a heart but that you have a brain too and know how to use it to articulate your message!

For anyone to read more into this then that is trying to sprinkle sugar on poop! For the claims of this showing her warmer, down to earth side I think you should all take a bite of your sugar coated poop and tell me how it taste because if this woman makes it to the White House, I think we'll regret it just as we did with GWB!

What's really funny is that I still see folks with those "W04" bumper sticker on their cars, that's got me rolling out of my chair!

Chaunda,IN   January 17th, 2008 1:19 pm ET

Oh yes here we go Hillary the big bad wolf that is so conniving she is controlling the media but so stupid she can't run the country. By the way she a racist too, and I think she hates women and latinos too. republicans quit pretending to be Democrats. Or democrats quit spewing republican rhetoric.

tony   January 17th, 2008 1:15 pm ET

Agree with Tired of W from Oh.....and the mindless rants have begun.

Robert, Denver   January 17th, 2008 1:14 pm ET

I do not like Hillary and there is no way I would vote for her, but come on folks, she was just having a little fun. This shows a light hearted moment, something everyone needs now and then (and I would not dis a candidate based on the quality of their jokes :) ). All aspects of her character (except her private life) is appropriate for print; it is part of who she is and it is important to understand as much of the candidate's character as possible. It's one of the few things I've seen that gives her a more human look. I'm still not going to vote for her though.

CR   January 17th, 2008 1:14 pm ET

Oh, Hillary is "arrogant"...?!

While arrogance is commonly considered a "quality" for males, and a reflection of their assertiveness, it is usually seen as a "negative" personality trait for women! The time has come for our society to treat genders in an equal manner and to praise the accomplishment of women - in the same way they do for men!

Get real!

Joelene Reno, Nevada   January 17th, 2008 1:13 pm ET

If you Hillary haters ever met her, you'd immediately change your minds and vote for her.

She's smart, forward thinking and capable of managing the business of this country.

There is little doubt she would not loose or misplace any document(s) if given to her well in advance of her needing it!

Obama's a good, maybe great speaker, but he is not qualified to be the leader of the free world.

Hillary 08!

Maggie   January 17th, 2008 1:10 pm ET

I can't believe the people on here who are getting worked up about this. People need to get a grip for goodness sake. Hillary was just having a little fun! There are truly some silly people on here who jump at the first chance to attack her. Makes me shake my head in disbelief the stuff that is written on here. People need to relax. Goodness gracious.

incredulous   January 17th, 2008 1:10 pm ET

What are some of these people thinking? or are they? So Hillary left her name on the Michigan ballot and she is castigated. What was the reason given by Obama and Edwards why they took their names off? Well, somebody explain to me why their names are on the ballot in Florida. It's time people start looking past all the rhetoric, the charm, the fiery speeches and look at substance. Likability as good as that is does not run a Government. Who is best suited to run this Goverment from day one? I am a proud black man and am ecstatic that a black man is running for President. But ,should i vote for him just because we are both black? My vote goes to the man or woman who is most capable of leading this great country back to its rightful place as the RESPECTED leader of the free world. GO HILLARY!

Laurel   January 17th, 2008 1:06 pm ET

"The more she does the less I believe she is doing this for America. This is about her thinking she is entitled to be president because she wants it. I can't wait to see what her next move is……"

Is this supposed to be a negative comment towards Hillary? Because if it is, it makes no sense. Every single candidate out there feels s/he is entitled to become president, that's why they're all working their butts off campaigning, stumping, and trying to prove themselves better than the next guy over. I don't understand how you can see this in a negative way, either. Anyone who has run for any position wants to win and of course they think they are entitled to win because of their experience and their vision of what they think they can do for the mass. It's called PASSION for aiming high and giving it your all to prove you can make a difference.

People complain about her lack of human touch, lack of sense of humor, lack of blah, blah, blah and when she tries to respond she gets slammed for it by the same people. You ask for change, she delivers, and then you just find another way to bring her down.

Also, people who criticize Hillary exhibit such double standards. She gets labeled as plastic, fake, weak, vicious, etc while none of her opponents are called any of those names when they respond or act the same way. And honestly, it's because she's a woman. Americans need to purge their mind of that old fashion view of women in order to objectively compare these candidates. For a "progressive" country, I feel like we're still in the dark ages when it comes to women in politics.

John Hargis Sr   January 17th, 2008 1:06 pm ET

There is nothing better than to see someone laugh, but in these times we need a serious canidate who has and can give us answers to our problems, reassure us that there is a solution beyond the horizon if we elect them. I see what i have seen in the past, committie after committie, that composses of friends, family and favors owed, with the end result of a deadlock and another four years of either nothing or more problems. There is no answer in any of the canidates of either party, just the assumption and faulse promises of a better America. Be true to the people you are going to lead, keep honesty and integrety at the forefront of your thoughts, rise your people from poverty, share your exesses with the world, strive for peace and cures for desease, protect our borders from the unknown, make your peace with God, love the earth as you would your children and pray for the wisdom to lead your country into a blessed future. Thomas, St. Petersburg, FL   January 17th, 2008 1:05 pm ET

Sorry, Senator Clinton, but your tentative "flight" (in the White House) is DOOMED for disaster. However, I do commend you for having the courage to appear on "some" political programs.

However, how come you haven't appeared on the HIGHEST RATED CABLE NEWS PROGRAM, "The O'Reilly Factor"? While Mr. O'Reilly is no "Larry King", he would certainly ask you tough questions, but he would polite and professional. This would be your opportunity to spread your message to millions of politically savy U.S. voters (including yours truly).

Sabrina   January 17th, 2008 1:02 pm ET

That was very ingenious, just loved seeing her show her humor. All the Obama fans are going nuts. You go Madame President-–see you in the White House!!!!!!

AJ, IL   January 17th, 2008 1:01 pm ET

(July 2007) Hillary is loving the media attention.
(November 2007) Hillary is indifferent about media coverage.
(January 2008) Hillar is upset at the media, yet trying to portray being "happy" with the media.

Like Bill Clinton said to Hillary in 1995, GIVE ME A BREAK!

Robert   January 17th, 2008 12:59 pm ET

This stuff is pretty funny, but her delivery is awful. If she had just ad libbed some of it, cool. But reading jokes written by her writers because it will make her look more human, well, it makes her look LESS human.

Julie   January 17th, 2008 12:59 pm ET

To any and all who use the word "divisive" to describe any campaign or candidate you do not support, please remember that you have personal control over whether or not you allow yourself to become negative about the other side. It seems to me the only time it is valid to accuse any side of being "divisive" is when we are being self-reflective. Otherwise, we are simply feeding the "divisiveness" ourselves.

All three of the democratic candidtates made a lot of effort in the Nevada debate to communicate fundamental unity, and to model for all of us a way to argue with one another responsibly and respectfully. If they stood up there accusing eachother of being divisive, they would have been fanning the divisive flames. Instead, they made it clear that they do not have (or do not want to have) any such intentions, or effects. This was despite the fact that the CNN moderaters tried hard to provoke them into ugly arguments.

We all have to allow them all to lead us in this way. We have to listen to the call they have made, in unison, to listen to their differences, but resist the mudslinging. This is Obama's greatness. If he means what he says, and would truly be alright with HRC as president, and vice versa, then we all have to calm down, vote according to what seems to make the most sense to us, and continue to trust in the process, even though it remains flawed in many respects.

It is sad to me that as a public we demand positive campaigning, and then allow ourselves such negativity with one another.

I believe that any of the democrats will work hard to restore our democracy as best they can (albeit each with a different set of flaws to contend with and attempt to overcome), and work hard to solve all the problems they can. It will not be perfect, but it will be better, if we can win. Staying united is our best hope in this regard. That is the power of Obama's message, no matter which way things go on the democratic side. If you are truly inspired by Obama, you must not succumb to the temptation to spread divisiveness and negativity. We MUST all be in this together.

Hillary has said that Obama could be a good president. Obama has said that Hillary could be a good president. They have all three made clear that when the primaries are over, they will work hard for a democratic victory. The rest is a nuanced individual choice.

We must all stop the demonizing of one another because it damages our very best hopes at this crucial time. If we have something to say to help others make an informed decision, let's do it responsibly, and remember that our words have the power to hurt as well help.

Aimee   January 17th, 2008 12:59 pm ET

Boomer 4 Obama   January 17th, 2008 12:57 pm ET

Really? I'm surprised she didn't take credit for advancing the rights of flight attendants so they didn't have to retire at the age of 32. Or wear a girdle.

She'll need more than a sense of humor to push that beverage cart up the aisle with all the Kool-Aid she and Bill want the voters to drink.

Mauri   January 17th, 2008 12:57 pm ET

KarenCA: You have it one hundred percent right. You did leave one out: "broomstick." I'm sure Hillary would smile about these epithets, but my opinion would be "Keep your votes; who needs 'em!?" I will vote for Hillary, but would be the last one to trash Obama. The freedom of the voting booth, which some of us haven't always had, means so much more than writing nasty words about one who doesn't deserve it.

rob   January 17th, 2008 12:57 pm ET

what a bunch of sad and pathetic comments from self loathing small people who can't give her the slightest bit of credit for anything.

Re: Comment from "Clever PR, good job Hillary"

Did Obama actually admit that he and his campaign staff had "pushed the race card"?

If he did – then I think CNN should give that 'Obama story' more coverage.

After reading through all the sexist, and downright personal attacks against Senator Clinton and President Clinton (I believe some wise pickle labelled her as being "trash") in this blog and others, it seems that NOW is the time for the electorate to start bringing Senator Obama, his campaign staff, and his 'verbally abusive' supporters to the forefront to ask them 'why' they "push the race card" and then cry foul when Senator or President Clinton even mentions the word 'race' – or does anything that is meant to 'help her win the nomination'?

BCNU   January 17th, 2008 12:50 pm ET

Cute, I guess she crossed the WGA picket line to get a script like that.

Jon, Pittsburgh, PA   January 17th, 2008 12:48 pm ET

The disparaging remarks about Hillary are disturbing. Disturbing in that they are very personal and reveal so much more about the person making the remarks. The people that don't like Hillary have no idea why – other than they think they know her and what makes her tick. They make idiotic statements about her as if they actually have first-hand knowledge of who she is and what she stands for. It's sickening.

These same people don't have a clue as to how she has voted on issues – other than to make comment about the vote that authorized GW to use force if necessary. They don't know what legislation she has introduced or supported or voted for or against. They show how misinformed they really are.

Phil   January 17th, 2008 12:46 pm ET

C'mon guys! That was FUNNY!

Why all this vitriol against Hillary. I'll tell ya why. Cause the far right is TERRIFIED of her! They KNOW she can win it all, and when she does they KNOW she'll work for the PEOPLE, not THEM.

They're AFRAID of her.

They've been running a campaign against her for 12 years, now. They've shot everything they could at her in an attempt to kill the baby in its crib. She's still alive and gonna win. When she gets the Dem primary, there's nothing they can lie about her that they haven't already tried.

I like Obama and the other Dems. But if they win, the Republican propaganda machine will make mince meat out of them. The've tried with Hillary and failed misrably. Now they can only cry and hope.

Christina   January 17th, 2008 12:46 pm ET

Marie:

I agree with you. Hillary comes across intelligent with such a broad base of knowledge about our country and world. When asked in debates, she gives clear and consice answers. She does very well with clarifying her responses so that she doesn't "talk over the average American's head". Most American's spend the majority of the time working and worrying about personal issues at home; it is understandable that they can't brush up on every issue. The candidates answers can get very unclear. With Hillary, you know exactly what she is saying. That is the way she wants it!

Hillary does this in her speeches as well. Even the media reports that Obama's speeches are more about "feel-good politics" rather than explaining his issues. Sure it is great to hear the message of hope and change. But our country is in a crisis right now. Our military has suffered greatly, our economy is in shambles, there are too many American's without healthcare, our drop-out rate in high school is unexusable, the middle class has been taken advantage of, etc., etc. etc.-We need more than feel-good words. We need action. I believe Hillary can deliver this.

plainol'jim   January 17th, 2008 12:41 pm ET

I have been a staunch supporter of the Clintons since my teenage years, when I used to volunteer in Bill Clinton's White House... And I have a confession to make... I will not support Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primary and, based on the way she has run her campaign, I would have a hard time supporting her candidacy in the general election. The Clinton machine reminds me of the tactics I see from Karl Rove: Unsubstantiated personal attacks at every turn; the use of surrogates and supporters to do their dirty work; twisting words around to play the victim; lies; and most frightening, voter suppression. I find it appalling that Hillary Clinton stands idly by while her supporters in the Nevada teachers' union seek to rob thousands of poor, minority voters and women of their right to vote, or at least make it more difficult for them to do so. We used to be the party of inclusion, of getting out the vote, of expanding the polity to the ends of America. Now, Bill Clinton is out there playing bad-cop, defending those who would disenfranchise thousands of hispanic voters so that HIllary doesn't have to say a word. The fact is, she could put an end to this frivolous lawsuit right now. But she won't. And why? Because it just might help her win. That's the logic that has driven her campaign. And it's the logic you see in her daily press soundbytes attacking Sen. Obama. They used to be the best of colleagues. Now, you see her campaign dragging a man through the mud whose record is perhaps as clean as we have ever seen in politics. I mean, the Clintons, desperate to find some dirt to annihilate her adversaries, dug up a Kindergarten essay Obama wrote saying he might one day want to be president. I mean, who didn't want to be president in Kindergarten. It's the Clintons in life who destroy our 'false hopes.' But if the Clintons proceed to crucify Sen. Obama as they have so diligently done in these past few weeks, the Democratic party may have a dilemma on its hands that not even Bill can diffuse. Because to have a candidate of Obama's historic and unifying background lose in a presidential race is one thing, but to have him lose this way is simply unaccepptable to the thousands of Americans who have been inspired by his message.

K. A. Sillsbury, Pikeville NC   January 17th, 2008 12:39 pm ET

It's about time someone injected some humor, And now we know for sure our next president has a sense of humor.

nazirmo   January 17th, 2008 12:38 pm ET

on MSNBC debate when Tim Russert asked Obama questions the true
Obama revealed . His answers shows why he is not fit to be the next Presdent.
He responded that he was not a chief operating officer. Being President is not making sure that schedules are being run properly. He even mentioned that he did not like his staff to hand him over any paper before 2 seconds because he
feared he would lose it. Do you really think that such a person can run affairs of the nation or even a company business ?
In response Hillary's answer was straight and simple. That she would be the leader from day 1.

Voters   January 17th, 2008 12:38 pm ET

Someone yelled out at a campaign event in Nevada......

"Do you have to be an American Citizen to caucus?"

Umm.... Only America would a question like this be asked. I would like to know how the candidate responded.

Nevada doesn't believe that illegal aliens would vote as they would be committing fraud. It would be too much effort to go through the process as they would have to sign an affadivit that they are illegal and then, it two to three years, after all of the verification etc has been done, they would end up being prosecuted for committing fraud.

Nevada doesn't believe that people who have committed fraud by entering this country illegally, people who have committed fraud by carrying illegal papers, people who break our laws, illegals who are unafraid to protest openly in American streets...... would not committ fraud by voting illegally.

Jose Card - Independent   January 17th, 2008 12:37 pm ET

Hillary's controlling behavior demands that she thinks she knows it all with hands-on micromanagement style.

When anybody thinks she or he knows it all, there is little intelligence left in the person. All the poor person can think of is calculating and criticizing on others.
This negative behavior takes a lot of energy out of her.
Therefore, Hillary cannot have any vision for us, while Obama can.

Hillary has no clue on leadership, but she may do a wonderful secretary's job hands-on. It's very sad how Dems supported her as the front runner even for a day. She is the least experienced candidate in both parties.

This flight attendant story is her writer's creation to get her out of the pit after Michigan and distract the voters from issues. Nice try, but Hillary remains detrimental to our democracy.

Hillary's close ties with big corporations and the Chinese should be taken seriously, no matter how loud she yelled against lobbyists for big corporations. She called these lobbyists her 'good American' friends, and took the most donations from them. There is no free lunch. We, the voters, will have to pay for this win-win deal between Hillary and her good American friends.

The Culinary workers are not a bunch of sheep....there are a whole lot of them that will vote for Hillary.....the union just wants to keep tabs on them and see who they caucus for.....the point of a caucus is for you and your neighbors to go and voice your opinions and try to sway the undecided to your candidate in your own neighborhood not on the strip!!!.....I personally wish we would just have had a primary on this day.....with early voting....I am sure there will be a lot of Jews that didn't go to Temple on the Sabbath because of it being held on a Saturday at 11 a.m......I hope next time a presidential election comes along in Nevada that it goes back to the old way of voting in private.......the way it should be.....GO HILLARY 08!!!

I don't know what's worse, the candidates or the voters behind them willing to trash everything about someone else because they don't want them to win. Way to ruin one of the few decent stories to even come out of this presidential race. Is it news? Probably not. Is it light-hearted during a time when America needs more of it? Yes.

And shame on most of you for making a registered Republican actually have to defend a filthy, hippy Liberal! :-)

WAIT, I HAVE TO GO GET MORE POPCORN TO HEAR HILLARY HATERS:

I'M GOING TO NEED ANOTHER BUCKET – BECAUSE SO MUCH HATRED AND HOW SHE MANAGES TO STAY ON TOP IS BEYOND ME!

A strong, dedicated, passionate woman who is stringent on issues and specific on matters -wow, how horrible for this country.

Explain this to me:

Why do so many people supposedly hate her...

I'm sure the Obama camp is working overtime on cnn – much like Roland Martin does – and yet she continues to hang in there in the numbers.

Folks, talk about issues, not the useless and mindless hatred of hillary – it's getting old.

Agatha:

"I heard Tiger woods is coming out to back Obama. That is very good to know how this race has gotten serious that even a legend recognizes Obama is the future of this country. Obama all the way!"

...seriously? What planet do you live on where you consider Tiger Woods a barometer for political issues? How exactly does him endorsing Obama mean that the "race has gotten serious"? And lastly, what are you smoking? Good lord... Whatever alternate universe you're living in sure sounds fun.

Mrs. Clinton is a unique canidate. To all of you e-mailers, I am only
12 years old and i hope the american people vote for Hillary. She would
be flying a million people to Canada to help our people if elected.
if she was prime minister of Canada, she would do the same for
U.S.A! PLEASE LOOK IN YOUR WIFES HEART AND SAY THIS TO HER:

"A little boy from Canada says HILLARY IS PERFECT!"
She would say " OK! 32,000,000 people vs. one state!"

Yours most sinserely, Mr Stanfort

Bea, Hoboken, NJ   January 17th, 2008 12:19 pm ET

Hey Brian L.,

Stop your vitriol long enough and check the article in the Las Vegas Sun about the Culinary union intimidating workers who do not want to caucus for Obama.

The news is spreading to various blogs and even local TV stations were contacted.

What do you have to say to that??? Your guy came out of the Southside Chicago machine, do you really think that he's that clean??

As for Hillary, she was cute and funny.

jyfranca   January 17th, 2008 12:16 pm ET

She is desperate she will do anything to win sooner you will see her half naked dancing in stages.I hope Britney will have her as her dancing team.

Thomas   January 17th, 2008 12:14 pm ET

Relax people, good to see a candidate showing a sense of humor on the campaign trail. I see their is the usual diatribe from the clinton haters. I am an independent and undecided as of yet, but I certainly don't feel the hatred some obviously do towards her and by all accounts, at least she seems to have a real understanding of some of the more complex economic and social issues, at least according to the analysts.

People, take a downer and relax. A sense of humor, however good or bad, is a quality to be desired, rather then ridiculed. Glad to see she has one.

Anita   January 17th, 2008 12:14 pm ET

Two sources familiar with the senior Vermont senator's plans say Patrick Leahy will be endorsing Obama today in an 11:00 a.m. conference call today.

J. McKinney SW MO   January 17th, 2008 12:13 pm ET

Cute, Hillary. Wish I had been on the plane. What makes several of you think she had writers for this? I don't think many can disagree with her high IQ, so no reason to think this required a writer, whose IQ probably wouldn't come close to hers.
Great she had a chance to show a little fun, and her sense of humor. I admire her more than ever, if that is possible. GO, HILLARY!!!!!!!!!!!

WendyOne   January 17th, 2008 12:12 pm ET

Guess she's practicing for when she loses. This way she can say she has experience at this job also – JUST LIKE SHE HAS THE EXPERIENCE TO RUN THE COUNTRY – NOT!!!!!!!!

Charley   January 17th, 2008 12:11 pm ET

Obama has really become the establishment candidate – and even a bit of a bore. His supporters seem too often to sound like a group of snotty white fratenity kids. Hillary is endlessly fascinating and in complete command of the issues that are going to effect our lives for years to come. She is one tough campaigner who seems to swat Edwards and Obama down when they challenge her.
She is the only candidate who can undo the damage of the Bush years.
She is going to be a geat leader but she should have never voted to go into Iraq had she not done that i bleive she would be coasting to victory

Is this the same reporter that brought us the big news about Hilary and "Dancing With the Stars" or was it the same reporter that brought us the tough question about Romney's "good looks". Wow!! What great reporting.. No-one has to waste their money on buying "The Enquirer" because we can get the same information right here.

The latest political news from CNN's Best Political Team, with campaign coverage, 24-7.

Jose   January 17th, 2008 12:09 pm ET

And this is news? This is what matters the most in the political season of electing our next president? Or was this all orchestrated to show her "soft" less btcy side?

Ann   January 17th, 2008 12:08 pm ET

She blasts Obama about admitting that he has someone help keep him organized, then she is reading from a script that someone else wrote. I personally would rather vote for someone that admits that they hire staff to help them keep organized, isn't that what most secretaries do for their bosses, than vote for a Presidential candidate that has to be told what to say.

Zona   January 17th, 2008 12:05 pm ET

Worse than being on a flight with Hillary, would be her as President of U.S.A. Just what is her experience anyway, other than reaping profits, a fine living and secure financial future from the citizens she takes from. Public Servant – what a laugh!

Harry, NY NY   January 17th, 2008 12:05 pm ET

I can already hear the sexist argument from Hillary's camp regarding being referred to as a "Flight Attendant".

Bob, Seattle   January 17th, 2008 12:04 pm ET

If what Hilliary is saying is true and compares running the U.S. to flying in an airplane, then electing her President would be the same as asking her to climb into the cockpit and fly the plane.

Total DISASTER. The Congress would achieve a WORLD RECORD DIVIDE between Dems and Repubs. Much wider then the current sorry state of affairs that has resulted in the LOWEST rating of Congress in RECORDED HISTORY.

ANYBODY BUT HILLIARY....................................................

gina   January 17th, 2008 12:04 pm ET

Let's connect the dots Americans. First, Hillary's vast experience, unfortunately did not include keeping track of Bill's extracurricular activites.
Second, We got more of the Rove politics in part , and as a result of the extracurricular activities.
Third, Bill's activities and Hill's failure to keep track of them did impact the presidential election of 2000. Remember Gore!.
Finally, the Clintons need to take some responsibility. I think this flight attendant job fits just fine.

Brian   January 17th, 2008 12:02 pm ET

I don't know about Clinton, but I thinks all of this says alot about you. Sad.

Snakes on the plane is right; the Clintons are that slithery and sneaky. lol

Fortunately, the forked tongue and slithery Clintons are not immune to their own poison.

When the Clintons defiled the White House and defiled the US Presidency enroute to destroying their own legacy, it causes alert Americans to wake up and say, "NEVER AGAIN, TO A THIRD CLINTON TERM!"

Hillary with her millions and her kid grown up, will that remind her of anything that a real American is going through? I doubt if anybody is having a sense of human anymore.

Chris, Middletown, CT   January 17th, 2008 12:01 pm ET

Wait...does that mean if she hangs around the pilot all the time...she is now qualified to fly the plane too? Hillary supporters baffle me...listen to her (mixed) messages....yeah...a female president would be nice..not her....never her

Anonymous   January 17th, 2008 12:00 pm ET

Does anybody REALLY believe that Obama is going to beat the Republicans? Come on!! Get real!! ... If Obama gets the Democratic nod, we are going to see another Republican president in the White House for the next four years.

This country, more than ever, needs a drastic change.... Bush, and his cabinet have done serious damage during the last 4 years. Does anybody really believe that Hillary can't improve on what has been done during the last 8 years? I think this country is ready for a woman president .... Hillary may just surprise all of us.

Let's not confuse arrogance with confidence. I think Hillary is confident and I think she believes she can do the job. She is more qualifed than Obama..... what exactly has he done?

Murphy   January 17th, 2008 11:59 am ET

It is the war stupid! vote Obama!

Mark C. Eades   January 17th, 2008 11:57 am ET

As I watch Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton on the campaign trail, I find them increasingly a study in contrasts, their differences evident not only in the things they say but in the fundamental nature of their respective campaigns. Hillary Clinton wants to be America's manager-in-chief, and her campaign shows it. Clinton '08 is a strictly managed affair from the top down, and that is how decisions are made: from the top down. Among Clinton's high profile backers is Martha Stewart, and Clinton '08 has all the earmarks of a Martha Stewart campaign, a campaign with not so much as a throw pillow out of place. In fact I should imagine that if one were to compare one of Clinton's speeches to a Martha Stewart address before a gathering of potential investors, one would find very little difference. Barack Obama, in contrast, wishes to lead by inspiring; and he has already demonstrated the ability to inspire many thousands across the United States and indeed around the world. If Hillary Clinton represents the market-model, managerial mentality of the 1990s, Obama seems to recall the political and social leaders of the 1960s, as many have observed – leaders who believed likewise that leadership was about more than just managing bureaucracy. None of America's greatest presidents are considered great because of their bureaucratic management skills. Abraham Lincoln's authorship of the Emancipation Proclamation was not an act of effective bureaucratic management, nor was JFK's dream to put a human on the moon by the end of his decade. If Barack Obama were not in possession of the basic skills required for the job he seeks, he would not have come as far as he has. Obama possesses far more, however, than the ability merely to be our chief pencil pusher.

Drew   January 17th, 2008 11:56 am ET

Has anyone else noticed that Obama gets all the endorsements and Clinton plays all the games? She started crying (In NH) when asked why she was running? What's she going to do when she is forced to face serius problems? I thikn Michigan Democrats had it right? All of the Hillary supporters voted for her, but 40% of Michigan voters took the time out of their day to go and vote for no one instead of her. If Obama or Edwards wwould have been on the ticket, Clinton would have lost in Michigan. I think it's time for Clinton Supporters to really wake up, and see the writing on the wall. What's even more scary is that she held a 20% lead in the national polls back in December, now its down to 1% Maybe Obama is the real deal.

Now she goes out and mocks flight attendants, this is not good for her. Mark another union endoresment for Obama.

freetobeme, Rochester, PA   January 17th, 2008 11:54 am ET

Hillary is a hypocrite, just like her husband. For those who credit him for the prosperity of the '90's, just what did he contribute? A president cannot micromanage the economy. He was just lucky to be in office during the dot.com boom. Anyone who counts on the government to be their own personal savior is an idiot.

I am still waiting for more articles about why Obama has some may non notes on things....if he cannot commit in the job he has, how can he be strong as the leader of the free world.?

Johnny Boy   January 17th, 2008 11:51 am ET

Earth to CNN, Earth to CNN. This is not funny. This isn't even close to funny. Hillary has no sense of humor, and attempts by her to make us think that she does are not appreciated. The extent of her humor is the sick chuckle she lets loose when she thinks she has skewered Obama. Anyone but Hillary...

It's interesting to me all the opinions on Hillary. You either love her or hate her. I rarely see anyone saying they just don't care.

I was a lifelong republican voter (I even voted for Bob Dole... blech!) and I am going to vote Obama if he is the democratic candidate. He is the only Democratic candidate that will get crossover votes like mine. I would rather shoot myself in the foot than vote for Hillary and if she is the candidate I will begrudgingly vote for whatever shill the republicans put up against her. She is too corrupt for me to vote for her. I don't hate her but I will never vote for her to become our president.

Clinton is clear winner
Hillary Clinton, during Tuesday’s debate, shows again why she is ready for the presidency. in which Clinton demonstrated why she is the best-prepared, best-qualified Democratic candidate.

James Nelson   January 17th, 2008 11:41 am ET

I don’t get this, she’s openly admitting and making light of the qualities most people find most disgusting about her, arrogance and her controlling nature. And to the press no less! Someone on her campaign gave her really bad advice.

S   January 17th, 2008 11:39 am ET

A few people are talking about her showing her softer side. Why does she have to pull stunts to do that....can't she just be herself and let that shine through naturally.

Attacks by the Establishment   January 17th, 2008 11:39 am ET

Thanks to the media and Dems for recognizing General Robert E. Lee's birthday being celebrated this Saturday 19th in South Carolina and the rest of Dixie. Alabama will celebrate the day with a day off on the 21st for most people in the State.

Those independents across the country who see only revolution will be heartened by the following: "Secession is nothing but revolution. Still, a union that can only be maintained by swords and bayonets, and in which strife and civil war are to take the place of brotherly love and kindness, has no charm for me. If the Union is dissolved, the government disrupted, I shall return to my native State and share the miseries of my people. Save in her defense, I will draw my sword no more." General Robert E. Lee

Looking around I see Ron Paul is the closest thing to a Founding Father we presently have running for office. Otherwise I see nothing to compare with a person of General Lee's character!

All Dixie children should be raised to imitate General Lee, the only man to ever attend West Point and receive no demerits in four years at the school! It takes a lot more morality and character than is being taught in today's government school systems to accomplish this kind of goal!

anon middle america   January 17th, 2008 11:39 am ET

All the ObamaCamp followers probably failed to read the TICKER MORNING EDITION: Thursday, January 17, 2008 06:57 AM ET
"WASHINGTON (CNN) — When is an endorsement not quite an endorsement? When it reads anything like yesterday’s tepid backing of Obama in the conservative-leaning Las Vegas Review-Journal:

“Is Barack Obama, then, the ideal Democratic candidate for president? Hardly,” it began, calling his policy proposals “old-line, welfare-state solutions that haven't spent enough time in the microwave to appear even superficially appetizing.” (ouch that has to hurt after getting the Culinary Workers backing ;) ) And in a reprise of recent primary-season attacks on Obama’s bid, it dubbed the candidate himself “a relatively young man with relatively little of the kind of real-world experience that prepares a candidate” for major crises.

But, they concluded, “Barack Obama is, at least, likeable.” Better than the alternative, sure, but still: not a line likely to make it into his campaign ads anytime soon."

Sooo the "Democratic Party" is still picking their "most likeable" candidate? Well Kerry was certainly "Mr. Congeniality2" – representing the NEW VOICES of the Democratic party who apparently are ~more appealing~ and can shout louder = the more upscale, more affluent, better educated, younger voters (who look down their noses at all the older generations and less fortunate) –> who are probably a lot of future Republicans, who undoubtedly aren't all that loyal to either party in the 1st place!

Meanwhile the split in the Democratic Party is growing ever wider with possibly no end in sight! The two party system is clearing no longer working in the best interests of ALL the American people anymore. It's time to divide the Democratic Party and let the NEW voices follow their new found direction and allow the Original Democratic Party to go back to standing up and speaking out for the the "disenfranchised" in our Nation – whose voices are being increasingly drowned out by the new class of voters.

Barack Obama "The Great Uniter" would have more luck reaching across the aisle to the Republicans than he will have at bridging the growing divide and bringing the Democratic Party back together again. His supporters have even managed to alienate some of the party faithful! He should seriously consider splitting the party now before the WHOLE party collapses and the GOP will sweep into the White House for the next 8 years.

Agatha   January 17th, 2008 11:39 am ET

Joe Wheaton   January 17th, 2008 11:38 am ET

Ok, this may be kind of funny but does it really warrant being the top story on the ticker for over 12 hours now? One would think Leahy's endorsement of Obama would be bigger news. Plus, there's an incident like this almost every election cycle, where a candidate will make an announcement over the PA system.

Frankly4Hillary   January 17th, 2008 11:38 am ET

I greatly respect and admire Mrs. Clinton, and I fundamentally believe that she is the most qualified candidate to run this country. It's also nice to see that she has compassion and, albeit silly, a sense of humor, which is so unlike our current President and many of the other candidates (with Mr. Obama being another exception). I have already voted her by absentee ballot in California. Go Hilary, and I look forward to saying "Madam President" in 2008.

Call me jaded, but I see this as being contrived and politically strategic. Not light hearted and off-the-cuff. The idea of her doing this was probably vetted through 4 layers of her staff and put in front of a few different focus groups. I would say the same if it was Obama or any of the Republicans. Maybe I'm jaded, but I'm certainly not naive. I just don't see how this is relevant. Certainly not funny when you know it's staged.

I am just wondering........for the 'thirty-fifth' time....what the heck is all this experience to which she keeps referring? She hasn't passed a single piece of legislation that I've heard of. She didn't attend National Security Mgts while Bill was doing his thing. She had a failed health care program to her credit. She touts this impressive experience of hers like a badge of honor but she reminds me of the title character in the fairy tale called the "Emporer's New Clothes."

John G   January 17th, 2008 11:33 am ET

WHAT EXPERIENCE?!?!?!?!

Being a first lady does not count as presidential experience! Being a one and a half term (since she has spent most of her time on the campaign trail and not in Washington doing the Job that New York elected her to do) Senator doesn't count as presidential experience either!

She hasn't done anything at all to warrant her claims of experience. Her healthcare plan got killed and handed Congress over to Republicans. The only reason she became senator in New York is because Rudy got sick and the GOP kind of phoned it in with Lazio. Her time in the White House was spent trying to figure out where Bill and "that chubby intern" were.

The only presidential experience she has ever had was when she said "I'm not going to have some reporters pawing through our papers. We are the president. "

No Republican in 08   January 17th, 2008 11:33 am ET

I know a lot of the Clinton supporters would vote the party line and vote for Obama if he is the candidate. I have heard it from the sensible ones. I don't think if Clinton is the candidate that Obama supporters will ever vote for her and we will get a Republican for 4 more years. Clinton is so divisive and she is so hated by voters on both sides it will be a really ugly general election. They will rip her to pieces because she has been around so long and has so much dirty laundry stuffed in her closet. Obama is pretty gentle with her but the Republican won't be. Maybe it is a better deal that Obama is so new. They won't have much on him except that he is new.
No Republican in 08

Shameless media!

I honestly and openly hate Hilary, but have to admit that is hilarious. If I was on the plane and she had done that I might even like her for a moment.

Lee   January 17th, 2008 11:31 am ET

From Debbie's comments earlier:

"I think it is absolutely ridiculous that Hillary Clinton even "thinks" of taking a "win" when she was running against nobody.
The Democratic Party had asked them to abstain from the Michigan primary, but she doesn't withdraw from the race for a cheesy "win".
Is this blatant violation of the rules a sign of how she will conduct the Presidential office should she win?
Does she really think she is above the rules and better then everyone else?
Sure seems that way.."

Actually, the Democratic Party asked them all to boycott campaigning in the state. They never asked them to remove their names from the ballots (something Edwards, Obama, and Biden did on their own) It should also be noted that Obama and Edwards both tried to get their names back on the ballot, but failed to do so due to legislation issues. Sorry, uneducated attacks are running rampant, and it's really getting under my skin.

Ray   January 17th, 2008 11:31 am ET

The Culinary Union has been threading their members to vote for Obama or else. When you go to a caucus. everyone see's who you are voting for. Some of these people need their jobs and are going to go with Obama just because they are scared. From the start this should not have been aloud.

Also, The Culinary Union and Teachers Union don't really get along so there is more to the story then we know.

MB Nekog   January 17th, 2008 11:30 am ET

I continue to be amazed by all of the negativity from a party that has always been one to inspire and unite. The Democratic Party owes a lot to the Clintons in general and they should, even if you don't agree with them, be respected for what they've done for our country. Hillary obviously has teflon in her veins, because she continues to fend off criticism and amaze pundits and naysayers alike. We need a leader who is intelligent, witty and has the record to back it up!

HILLARY 2008!!!!

K, GA   January 17th, 2008 11:30 am ET

CNN is cleaver to put out anything they get about Hillary. They got over 700 blogs on one article about her yesterday. This one is hitting fast too.

Hillary haters, make CNN look good.

Ladies and Gentle men, our next President (Hillary R. Clinton) is funny and she can put her message out at the same time. Isn't she smart? Isn't she the smartest on the field?

Faith   January 17th, 2008 11:30 am ET

Obama all the way!

Christina   January 17th, 2008 11:29 am ET

Brian:
I understand your concern. I just find it ironic that any time something happens that may negatively affect Obama, Clinton gets the blame. She has publicly stated that she is in favor of the caucus method and encourages the fact that we should get everyone we can to vote.

I wonder why you haven't written anything about Obama when his "smear machine" (as you call it) gets involved in issues that negatively affect Clinton. I mean lets all admit, we all know how politics really work.

Personally,I have a real problem with the entire caucus system. I feel that we should have a fair and uniformed system when voting for our candidates. But then again, there are many things screwed up with our political system. We all know that as well!

Matt, Cleveland OH   January 17th, 2008 11:29 am ET

Ok. CNN can we have an article about Obama with his picture here too or Edward. This is what I call shame!

Michael   January 17th, 2008 11:25 am ET

Having perused these comments, one thing becomes obvious. Ms. Clinton's supporters turn the most banal, speech writer produced kitsch into rollicking hilarity. It is instructive because it allows us to see how far these devotees will go to convince everyone that Hillary Clinton is not Hillary Clinton. I'm afraid she is. So to the fatuous Something in the Way She Moves (Waddles), look blissfully out the left side of the plane as it banks into oblivion.

Henry   January 17th, 2008 11:25 am ET

I didn't think this is a good example for her. I was really supporting hillary till I saw how things are being played for her in this election.
Never will vote hillary!

Gobama   January 17th, 2008 11:22 am ET

Ha ha ha!

This new status (flight attendants) of the bad-judgment Clintions is so apropos, kind of. LOL

Only the still asleep Americans would be mindless enough to fly with the self-absorbed and self-destructive Clintons.

The Clintons elevated a huge White House legacy and by their own action bring crashing down their own legacy by defiling the White House and undermining the US Presidency, which gives rise to a bungling bush with his UNPROVOKED war that empties the national treasury and causes the destruction of the US economy.

Let's desire that the Clintons just FLY AWAY! lol

This is something positive. Go spread your hates comments somewhere else.

marie   January 17th, 2008 11:21 am ET

She is the best candidate – she has a much needed sense of humor and this moments headlines are stating that Bernanke is stating the economy needs help fast – that something needs to be done quickly.

In the recent debate in Vegas Hillary said the same thing when talking about what needed to be done for the economy. She didn't just state what her plan would be if elected president, she emphasized the importance that something needs to be done right now!

Broook   January 17th, 2008 11:21 am ET

Whose rules? The Party's? I have more respect for Hillary Clinton staying on the ballot than I do for Obama and Edwards letting the Democratic Party make their decisions for them. It shows to me strength of character by telling Michigan voters that their votes count even if it doesn't add any delegates for her. Obama and Edwards said up yours Michigan we aren't getting any delegates so you aren't worthy of our name being on your ballot.

And to Dwayne who said "She's already changing the name of Air Force One to "Hill Force One" ! Please give me a break!"

She didn't change the name of "AIr Force one", she named her plane "Hill Force One." Give us all a break and get a sense of humor!

Also, I took it for what it was – a light-hearted laugh. Nothing more, nothing less. Get over yourselves.

This was agreed upon LAST MARCH. Why now and why RIGHT after they endorsed Obama?

And no, Obama would not have done this if reversed.

g   January 17th, 2008 11:18 am ET

I find it unbelievable that people are still harping about Hillary's name being on the Michigan ballot without the other front runners. In your mind, the Edwards and Obama are honorable for taking their names off and Clinton is slim for keeping hers on. Senator Clinton has her faults (as they all do), but not because she left her name on the ballot in Michigan. Do you intentionally ignore that Edwards and Obama left their names on the Florida ballot, when Florida too was slapped by the DNC? Funny how their solidarity and honor extend only to Florida.

Or is this what you Boss is telling you that you HAVE TO DO to get you to vote for Obama??? Wake up!!!

Tom - Dedham, Mass   January 17th, 2008 11:14 am ET

Actually Hillary, Joe Biden, Dodd and Richardson were the three most experienced and BEST Democratic candidates.

But I will grant you the experience mantel for a second and just like your husband, you are "experiencing" donation issues and not just asian dishwashers or Hsu the "bundler":

As part of Hilary’s 2008 EXPERIENCE she is soon going to be under oath BEFORE THE ELECTION in the Los Angeles civil case, Paul v Clinton. A status conference is set for Feb. 21, a trial date will be set, and discovery can begin.

In Dec 2005, Hillary's treasurer signed a conciliation agreement. The campaign had filed three false reports, hid over $720,000, and paid a fine.

They didn't learn their lesson. Hillary has her treasurer file a fourth false report in Jan. 2006. In May 2007, video evidence surfaced that had been withheld by the office of a US Attorney while a criminal trial was held of Hillary's campaign finance chairman and official investigations proceeded.

Hillary has compromised all three branches of the government in the coverup of the greatest campaign finance fraud ever.

On video with Hillary's audio at the other end of a conference call, Hillary admits to being fully briefed by Kelly Craighead about the Hollywood Gala. She offers her help and says that Kelly will convey what she needs. She admitis to soliciting Cher's performance.

On tape, she is caught participating in the illegal solicitation of a hard money, in-kind contribution of over a million dollars. The FEC never considered that video evidence or called key witnesses. During the Rosen trial, the video evidence was not available, and they did not call key witnesses.

The discovery in the civil case is going to finally reveal to the voters this massive campaign finance fraud directed by Hillary.

Do we really want four more years of explanations, accusations and trials while NOTHING GET'S DONE?

Amused, Las Vegas   January 17th, 2008 11:13 am ET

Did you read the lawsuit?

It probably should have been filed earlier, however, there are real issues in the inequality of how the delegates are allocated, and also in the creation of different classes of caucus-goers.

The whole primary season has looked on all sides like a 3rd grade schoolyard brawl. ("my primary's earlier than your primary is.....neener neener", "we don't like how you play so we're taking away your delegates"). It's demeaning and embarrassing.

However, the NV caucus issue is real. However it is adjudicated, it is better that it be decided BEFORE the caucus than to leave it to a challenge after the caucus, when the entire results could be nullified.

JR   January 17th, 2008 11:13 am ET

Go Hillary!

Obviously she has to engage the idiot press this way...taking a page from Obama's book she is obviously the only qualified candidate to get this country back on track.

jsg   January 17th, 2008 11:13 am ET

Tears and stand-up comedy, beware (women especially – you who are so prone to feeling sorry for her for what Big Bad Bubba did) of the fascination with this "new" "exposed" "real" Hillary. We have also had " years of experience" with looking at and listening to her, certainly that can't be wiped out with welling reptilian eyes and ha-ha-ha! Can it?! Actually the "real" Bill is more believable, red-faced and snarling, standing by his woman!! She really wants this job! You go ahead and give it to her...................................

Suri   January 17th, 2008 11:12 am ET

The coverage of this woman is getting rediculus. I believe if you are born in America you should have equal rights. I wish there is another woman running for president who is genuine and connect to the real Americans. I just don't see how I would vote for Hillary with all the fake thing she does everyday. I just think she can never stop.
Just feeling fed up with Clintons!

Don't you all readers see that the media will drug anything just to descredid any candidate in the election.
I feel that the media are manipulative and their comments on some speeches are
intentialy to be turned in to the cases of racial issue or others isueses not beeing appropriate for candidates to go for, but beeing escalated by media as not appropiate or attacking type to the contracandidate.
I also see and feel that manipulative madia are almost sure or think. that the people of USA has no brain ?????!!!!!
It's not smart for media to make such a not proffesional statments with push in to
strong disegreement on some escaleted By media, speeches of candidates.

and that is news because?

Marc for Hillary   January 17th, 2008 11:07 am ET

Yes. The Obabma camp should... But then again maybe Obama should...

Do you know what a Caucus is? It was always for people, citizens to come to a neighborhood in their area and vote.

How fair is it for people to trek on their off day to downtown Las Vegas to not even vote, but to be strong armed into voting for who your boss says to vote for. When we vote do we have to go to our place of business ? NO! We go to a neutral facility to vote. When they held the Caucus to vote in Iowa was it at a place of business? NO!

Get real! Either canidate will pull the same card. I am tired of people playing Obama like some holy roller.... Give me a break!

Beth   January 17th, 2008 11:06 am ET

Ok. Now the ticker belongs to Hillary alone. No other candidate is running for President...mmmmh, I my hearing Hillary won on the media all the time. Time for change in this country indeed!

Marco   January 17th, 2008 11:06 am ET

Brian

don't you hava anything else to do than attacking Clinton for the pure fun of it? Clearly you are not in favor of her and clearly you are going to vote for Obama. great! Support your candidate and stop harrassing. Your response to this specific article, which I find very funny, is completely out of line.

Theo   January 17th, 2008 11:05 am ET

This gets front page coverage on the CNN website? What's the point – a more human Hillary? I guess since the tears worked we'll be seeing plenty more of this type of stuff. Especially if it gets this type of coverage.

David S., Chicago, IL   January 17th, 2008 11:05 am ET

I agree Brian! Why do I feel like I am constantly being lectured and talked-down to by Hillary...why would I want a self-professed know-it-all to be the President? I am struggling with why she has been bugging me so much...I think that is why I like Obama...he still has the smarts with not all the baggage and seems like a real person (funny but I now get why Bush was so electable even though he's the worst president ever)...face it everyone, a Democrat is going to win no matter what, let's turn the page and a fresh start! Obama '08!!!!!!!!

Wilberto Jimenez, Monmot, MD   January 17th, 2008 11:04 am ET

Politicians make me sick. Hillary's sense of humor plays a distant backseat to her candor. At least McCain can tell a good joke...

Joyce Francis Jacksonville,, FL   January 17th, 2008 11:04 am ET

Sure, this is just what this country needs - give me a break! The woman knows nothing and isn't funny either! And the press continues to pander to her by giving us these news clips - why doesn't the press ask some hard questions, i.e., what is your stance on illegal immigration; what do you intend to do regarding the trade imbalance; how do you intend to get American companies to return manufacturing to the US; will you pardon Border patrolmen Campion and Ramos if elected president; how do you intend to secure the US Borders; what is your stance on the North American Allegiance? This is what the public wants to know - not how "cute" she can read her cue cards.

Christina   January 17th, 2008 11:04 am ET

I love it! This was great. We all need a break from the usual campaign stories. It is good to see this side of her again!

Jenny, Paxton, MA   January 17th, 2008 11:03 am ET

PEOPLE! go to the candidates's websites, read up about their plans and ideas, ask your own questions for their own answers, engage other voters with the substantive information, and FORGET ABOUT THE CORPORATE MEDIA, the mouthpiece for the small group of moneyed power with no particular allegiance, whose main reson d'etre is to keep you dumb and manipulatable!!!!!!!

Corey T.   January 17th, 2008 11:03 am ET

I am very pleased that Hillary has been able to show her softer side recently on the campaign trail. I have always liked her for her ideas and policies. However, her attitude over the past weeks has proven to me that she is a person I can also relate to because she is showing her emotions.

Keep on going Hillary! I'm behind you all the way!

Mark Cary, NC   January 17th, 2008 11:02 am ET

Dear brian:If Clinton received the endorsement, then Obama or Edwards camp would be waving the same flag. When you look at it in a legal sense, it is giving a union unfair advantage over other residents and organizations of the state. It is unfair. You seem to have an undo bias against Clinton and not truly seeing the fairness of individual rights. Plus what does your post have to do with Clinton playing flight attendant?

Michael   January 17th, 2008 11:01 am ET

The flight attendant from hell–Hillary Clinton. My God, couldn't she have least extemporized her self deprecation. Nope, as a robot, she needed help.

Gil - California   January 17th, 2008 11:01 am ET

Wasn't that cute. Oh Hillary, can I get a pillow.

Julie, Binghamton, NY   January 17th, 2008 11:00 am ET

The Nevada state Dem. Party had a problem- they held the caucus on a Saturday and since there are so many Vegas strip workers who work on Saturday, those people couldn't get the time office to go home to a 2 hr long caucus.

So they came up with a solution- let them vote on the strip.

But there was a caveat- they decided to make a different rule for the how the number of delegates would be chosen "at large precincts?" than regular precincts. So what could potentially happen is an "at large precinct" would have 10 times more delegates to vote for the winner of that precinct than a regular precinct.

So, while I agree that the Vegas strip workers need the opportunity to vote, I don't agree with the solution that was created. The Nev Dem Party should have come up with a more fair solution- and this would not have ended up in a lawsuit.

If Nevada's polls were similar to the ones in early Dec, this rule would not have affected the outcome of the election. But now that it is a tight race, it does matter. And I think Obama would have had a real problem with this rule if he didn't get endorsed- he'd be a fool not to fight it- it's not fair. (However, the solution isn't to keep them from voting, it should be to find a way where they can vote and it will remain fair).

Ron, TX   January 17th, 2008 10:59 am ET

This must be an example of Hillary's micromanagement skills. Not only does she want to ride the plan, she wants to be the announcer. I wonder if she also made the pilot let her fly it?

Not only will she meet with foreign leaders in the White House, she'll also waste time to personally talk with their secretaries to confirm their arrival times, she'll waste time to type out her own talking points, she'll waste time asking secret service if everything is ok, she'll waste time adding sugar to the tea herself, she'll waste time all over the place making sure everything is ok.

Horrible management style. Absolutely horrible. All those useless things are things a President SHOULD NOT be wasting time on.

hmmm...OKLAHOMA   January 17th, 2008 10:59 am ET

I believe that the voting system in this country is fatally flawed. Delegates, just as the Electoral College, really serve to rob the majority of American people of what they actually want. Although, often times, the people in both of these electing parties will go with the candidate of their states' choice, they also have the option not cast a vote for their states' decision on a candidate. Yes, they may face possible penalties from the people (ie. not being re-elected), but the damage is still done if their decision translates into either a party nomination or a presidential win. Honestly, I wonder why this isn't reported on more often...the media tends to "over-hype" the importance of the average person's vote in the race, rather than pointing out that no matter the outcome of the race, the American people lose every time. I call the the voting process "rigged for the establishment." Our people don't choose the president, our government does.

Nathan Hydes   January 17th, 2008 10:59 am ET

Yeah it was scripted, but that's pretty funny for a presidential candidate.

365 days of the year=365 clintons

which is running for President and when?

HILLARY 08   January 17th, 2008 10:56 am ET

Go ahead CNN try to make something bad out of something light-hearted...Try as you might, people will soon realize by researching for themselves that Obama attends a racist church in Illinois called the tucc. org and when they read the About us page, they will see just what his core is really all about and that the racial stuff comes from his core belief system! If you don't believe me, then just use any searxh engine and look for the church he attends in Illinios...it's there. It can't be denied. It is racist. That is why I changed my vote from Obama to Hillary, not to mention other reasons as well.

j   January 17th, 2008 10:53 am ET

I live in upstate NY. I am from a red state. I have liberal values after seeing that people in MS are actually more liberal in attitudes than around here, and our govt. is getting more paternalistic, in many respects. I recognize the hands-off stand of conservatives. At the same time, the strategy is not working for the majority of Americans who are getting poorer.

I am a professional planner. Obama supports restructuring the tax code to support more public investment in infrastructure and transportation and is a smart growth advocate.

I believe he would turn around the xenophobic, isolationist policies of our current govt by at least talking about one-on-one discussions with major world leaders whom we may not see eye to eye on.

In short, I support Obama for all the right reasons. He speaks his mind and has conviction and is well-grounded. He knows what he believes and has integrity. He does not change like the wind, like other candidates, whose opinions are based on the most recent polls of whichever state he/she happens to be in. He does not use underhanded tactics of name-calling or other shameful attention-drawing episodes. He does not make up reasons like other candidates to sue a state caucus when a major union endorses another candidate.

His policies set him apart, and he will move this country in the right direction.
He has already demonstrated his ability to reach across the party aisle and be bipartisan. He has my vote all the way.

namata   January 17th, 2008 10:53 am ET

Poor Brian Lipchik!!! First of all you have have butchered your favorite candidate's name. It is Obama NOT Obabma. Secondly, this is politics at play. If things happened the other way round the Obama camp would probably have sued as well. Let's stop the blame game and judge these candidates on their merits NOT on endorsements. I will vote for whom ever wins the democratic nomination.

When I vote for Barack Obama in the primaries, it will be a vote FOR Barack, not against HIllary.

...but I like her less every day. Her coy campaign style really turns me off.

Matt, New York Ny   January 17th, 2008 10:51 am ET

Funny lines, but written by a joke writer just for headlines like this doesn't count as showing a softer side of one's personality. In the end, that's not even an issue – it's the fact that there have been to many Clintons in office already.

Jim in Orlando, FL   January 17th, 2008 10:51 am ET

The caucus situation in Nevada was an accident waiting to happen as soon as someone was "odd man out", or in this case "odd woman out". Some cronies arranged things such that the system was way out of balance. This is from someone who is ABH ... Anyone But Hillary.

As for the theatrics as flight attendent, might I registre a complaint. Your airline has the same tired menu and marketing slogans as yesteryear. You want to raise the cost of my ticket, ask me to trust Big Brother, and flip-flop all over how to keep this plane safe. DId you see the study where the least educated are attracted to Hillary more than any other candidate ? No surprise there.

free   January 17th, 2008 10:50 am ET

Brian- I totally agree. There is a strong possibility that either Obama or Edwards could win on saturday and the clintons are pulling this last minute trick to change the outcome in their favor. But remember the voters are smart and they're well aware of the games the clinton are trying to pull. No sensible judge will rule in favor of the Clintons. Nevada voters must send a clear message to the clintons on Jan 19, and vote Obama or Edwards.

Susan Texas   January 17th, 2008 10:50 am ET

Go Hillary! I think this is a great little story, and so different then all the negative anti-Clinton stories CNN has been posting as of late! everyone I know is so looking forward to our first female president, and a return to sound economic policies!

Becky   January 17th, 2008 10:49 am ET

That is finally a good funny story....on Hillary.....Now what Obama lover is going to find something evil about Hillary and start another negative story about her!!!...I know it is going to happen....I am waiting.......

Karen, Jersey City   January 17th, 2008 10:49 am ET

Yes, she's right about that, the most experience candidate in LYING.

Ginny CA   January 17th, 2008 10:49 am ET

Whoa, Brian Lipchik! You really do sound outraged by the pending lawsuit regarding the Nevada caucuses. I understand that, but why are you blaming the
Clintons? They had nothing to do with that lawsuit, it was filed by the Nevada Teachers Association. And they have not endorsed a candidate, the last I heard. You have simply used this issue to pile more hate and lies on the backs of Hillary and Bill. It appears that you are just ticked off because your boy isn't doing so well right now. People are finally seeing through his rhetoric and realizing his lack of substance, understanding of big issues, inexperience, and unrealistic simplistic approach to tackling and solving the huge problems that face our nation. Each day, it becomes more evident that he simply isn't ready. Maybe in 12 or 16 years, but not now. Too much hangs in the balance to put a trainee into the Oval Office.

Scott, Madison, WI   January 17th, 2008 10:48 am ET

Oh great! Now she'll be touting her "35 years of experience" as a pilot, but in reality it will be as a flight atttendant.

Thanks CNN for making as clear as day a very good point that Senator Chris Dodd made earlier in the primary campaign: "Witnessing does not count as experience, otherwise my wife would be running for president."

H'mm ... What are the odds of her adding this to her inflated resume and boasting about it at the next debate?

Alex, Dallas TX   January 17th, 2008 10:47 am ET

Brian Lipchik, can you lighten up a little, the nonsense you just wrote please explian how you think its related to this story. I understand a lot of people hate Hillary but a lot of you can not even give a good explanation on why.

WHAT EXPERIENCE IS SHE EVEN TALKING ABOUT?

U HAVE NO EXECUTIVE OR OPERATING OFFICER EXPERINCE!!!
Experience as a first lady? what decisions did you have to take? which meetings were u even allowed to be part of? After 35 years of ur so called ,u said u found ur voice? so all this time as a Senator WHAT WAS GOING ON HILLARY? so who was speaking? If it wasn´t u then WHO?

U have not much Experience as Obama!!! u worked with the Children just as Obama organized the community in South Chicago and then as state Senator. And both of u are Senator.

I guess it is an attempt for Clinton was to be funny. As to what is going on in Nevada and the caucus, that was mentioned by Clinton at some point that it was not her idea to do that. It was possibly over zealous supporters. Do I believe that? Well, at this point, I am trying to give people the benefit of the doubt.

Brian,
So you admit that Hillary is smarter? Good for you! You're finally getting it!

By the way. Holding caucases in places that favor one canidate over another isn't democracy. If Hillary had done it I would have expected Someone else to bring it up... It's wrong and should be stopped.

Obama 08   January 17th, 2008 10:42 am ET

So where are the stories about Johnson's apology to Barack Obama, and Martin Luther King's son's statement that Clinton made a mistake when she made her famous MLK /LBJ comment?? This seems more credible stories than this "fluff"

Do we really want to vote for another president who never admits she is wrong, sees no weakness in herself or never offers an apology. We learn from our mistakes and are able to improve by recognizing our weaknesses and making adjustments to improve on these.

Clinton preys on the fears of the elderly, hides behind suurogates including her husband and has a different face for every situation or crowd. CNN promotes this by being selective about what they air and print.

Hi CNN what is wrong with my comments. Why don't you post them

Dee Ward Mena, AR   January 17th, 2008 10:41 am ET

We all know that it would be unfair for the caucus locations to be in the casinos. The casino "bosses" are backing obama and it is pretty obvious that if they have to caucus and state their preference of a candidate that it would have to be obama even if they wanted Clinton or Edwards.. Do you really think that someone would vote publicly against their boss's candidate. If this were a primary I would say, let them have them in the casino to make it more convenient but a caucus is not a "secret ballot" you have to state publicly who you want as your candidate. Would YOU or ANYONE vote against a candidate publicly that your boss is backing and take a chance on losing your job. I don't think so. So think about it, would it be fare to the other candidates to have this CAUCUS in a casino so your boss knows who you are voting for.

I seem to remember Rudy Giuliani discussing Hillary on a plane a while back...

This would have been funny had she written it herself. Maybe if she was more of a big thinker and not so busy micro-managing her filing cabinets (that's what presidents do you know) she might have been able to write something original herself.

Ray   January 17th, 2008 10:36 am ET

This story is so much more interesting on BBC. I actually smiled when i read it there. Reading it here is...plain boring. CNN definitely doesn't make the story humorous and somehow on reading the story here you feel like she did something bad. CNN is definitely losing its touch.

Here is the snippet from BBC News:

US Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton briefly took on the role of flight attendant while travelling on her campaign plane.

Speaking to members of the press on board, she gave a humorous take on the standard flight attendant speech familiar to air travellers.
"Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, and welcome aboard the maiden flight of Hill Force One," she joked.
The plane that carries the president is called Air Force One.
As the plane made its way down the runway before taking off from Las Vegas on its way to Reno, in Nevada, on Wednesday, she introduced herself on the loud speaker.
"My name is Hillary and I am so pleased to have most of you on board," she said, referring to her sometimes difficult relationship with the media.
"[Federal Aviation Administration] regulations prohibit the use of any cell phones, Blackberries or wireless devices that may be used to transmit a negative story about me," she continued.
"In a few minutes, I am going to switch off the 'Fasten Your Seat Belt' sign. However, I've learned lately that things can get awfully bumpy when you least expect it – so you might want to keep those seat belts fastened," she added.
"And in the event of an unexpected drop in poll numbers, this plane will be diverted to New Hampshire."
Taking the opportunity to make a political point, she continued: "If you look out from the right, you will see an America saddled with tax cuts for the wealthiest and a war without end.
"If you look out from the left, you will see an America with a strong middle class at home and a strong reputation in the world," she said.
The in-flight entertainment would be a political speech, she added.
She finished by saying she was grateful that the passengers "chose the plane with the most experienced candidate".

Clever PR, good job Hillary   January 17th, 2008 10:36 am ET

Dear Senator Clinton:

Last night I must admit I fell asleep upset by Obama's admission that he and his staff had pushed the race issue. He admitted this on MSNBC. The moderator showed him four pages of what his staff had written and sent out with his approval.

He said he regretted doing that.

Yesterday i read through all of the comments that were posted when Clinton addressed Obama's management style. Something I happened to agree with. When I heard Obama say that during the debate I immediately understood he had no idea what the President of the United States did and that having a document two minutes before you need it is not acceptable and leaves you vulnerable to being managed by other people who know how the system operates.

Anyway, I read about 60 sexist comments against Hillary.

I don't see Hillary complaining. I see her moving forward and acting a like a leader.

Good for her. She is demonstrating professionalism and great boxing skills. I love the way she moves.

Don   January 17th, 2008 10:36 am ET

I think this shows the human side of Hillary. ALL candidates have a very difficult job. They are ALL human, however, there are so many "cans" and "cannots" involved with any campaign and that makes it difficult, at times, to maintain a sense of humor.

As for the comment above, which has nothing to do with this article, any candidate will pass up the opportunity to strengthen another. That's the nature of the beast and it makes sense. If you were up for a job you really wanted and knew you could thrive in, you wouldn't sit in your interview supporting the strengths of your competition. They are all in the same boat here. When Obama or Edwards does something to intentionally help Hillary's campaign, I'll listen. Otherwise, just accept the fact that they are all in this for the same cause, but have no choice other than to help themselves in order to help America. Go find something worthwhile to become "outraged" over.

I am saddened by the Clinton campaign's attempt to disenfranchise union workers simply because the Culinary Union endorsed Obama. The casino sites had been previously approved by the Democratic party a long time ago, and Clinton knew this was the case. These type of shameful political games are not smart in the long run. It may gain her a percent or two at the expense of workers who will not have time to caucus, but I feel like this is a glaring example that Hillary will do or say anything to become president. I believe most Americans realize that we need something different and better at this crucial time in our history.

Boogie Los Angeles CA   January 17th, 2008 10:35 am ET

She is a good sport...:)
She's tough...NOBODY in this race has had to stand up under more heat and hatred that Hillary....Most of it un-deserved...but, she can still take a joke...and keep fighting for what she believes in.

All the haters can point out the flaws...that's part of the game.
But, this lady has really showed backbone.

Most of this is all hype, spin and pure b.s...but, in the end I have a lot of respect for her spirit in the face of fire.
Obama may be a better speaker...But, Hillary is way stronger...I believe that is what America needs right now...we have a lot of clean up to do.

" I am truly outraged by the Clinton's behavior regarding the pending lawsuit regarding Caucuses in Las Vegas. Had Hillary garnered the labor endorsements, then they would no problem at all with the Caucus locations."

Funny how that worked, huh? If she thought she'd get those votes, the casino caucuses were no problem. But when she thought she might lose those votes, suddenly they are unfair.

This is the kind of leadership we need in this country? Sounds like a Karl Rove tactic.

I am sick of the last 8 years of leadership – this sort of thing in particular. Gamesmanship. Why would anyone look at this and say "yea, we need THAT in the Whitehouse!"

Not much of a change, is it?

Jeff   January 17th, 2008 10:23 am ET

Nominating Senator Clinton is like the Democrats purchasing a one way ticket to losing the election. Kerry and Gore, a southerner, failed to win enough Red States to win the election. Who in their right mind thinks that Hillary, who's hated by the Republicans more than both combined, stands a chance to turn even one of those red states blue? Even some democrats, like me, are starting to see through Hillary's shell and beginning to understand why half the country won't even consider voting for her. Obama or Edwards would be the best bet for Democrats, and a ticket with both of them on it might be the best.

Scott   January 17th, 2008 10:20 am ET

Finally a role she is good at. I wonder if Bill had to step in and say everything for Hillary, like he is doing in this election. "Bill tell them I am happy to see them".

Jesse, Burnsville, MN   January 17th, 2008 10:05 am ET

Hillary is a intelligent person, but it has become frighteningly clear that she is just not electable in the general election. Already 47% of the electorate have said they will not cast their vote for Mrs. Clinton. That is higher than at any time during the campaigns of Gore and Kerry.

I know a lot of women want to see the first woman president and I sympathize with that movement. I also know that a lot of African Americans would like to see the first African American president and I can also sympathize with that movement.

However, at this point in time, I just want a Democrat to be president. This country has been absolutely devasted by the Republicans and we can't afford even 4 more years. Therefore, as Democrats, we need to take the responsibility to nominate the most electable candidate, so that we have someone in the White House representing the ideals of the Democratic Party. At this point in time, that person appears to be Obama.

I understand that there is a lot of emotion in this race, with good reason. But, at some point, we need to put the emotions behind us and coalesce around a candidate that will help us take the White House.

So much for environmentally friendly!

jason smith   January 17th, 2008 10:03 am ET

The little schtick routine, in its' entirety, included Hillary saying "if you have anything to say, do not say anything bad about me"....ha....ha....she is TOO funny....it was on the news last night...I guess CNN felt like leaving that part out for whatever reason......

Matt   January 17th, 2008 10:03 am ET

Love that Hillary!

joe   January 17th, 2008 10:03 am ET

You sorry suckers at the Clinton News Network are about the saddest thing in the news business. The bias is as blatant the fox news is to conservatives. Sickening, but it will back fire. The internet will take over the media because of tactics the you guys are pulling. It wont be long.

MJ North Mississippi   January 17th, 2008 10:02 am ET

Go Hill

Becky   January 17th, 2008 10:02 am ET

Dwayne, Pa   January 17th, 2008 10:00 am ET

She's already changing the name of Air Force One to "Hill Force One" !
Please give me a break!

j   January 17th, 2008 10:00 am ET

You cannot be serious. CNN has become a tabloid...

Jon   January 17th, 2008 10:00 am ET

Hillary shouldn't try to be funny. And CNN shouldn't publish ridiculous publicity stunts that have no bearing on the actual issues.

BD   January 17th, 2008 9:57 am ET

“COUNT ALL THE VOTES” she yells, except when it does not
benefit our side in Las Vegas. In that case Hillary’s operatives
file a lawsuit to disenfranchise the voters she wants to silence.
More dirty tricks from the masters of sleaze.
This is just the beginning for her.

“GET CORPORATE LOBBYIST MONEY OUT OF POLITICS” she yells,
except when it does not benefit our side. In that case Hillary takes
more of their money than all the other Democrat AND Republican
candidates COMBINED.

What hypocrites. The saddest part is this corrupt bunch will win because –
“WE WILL BE MAKING HISTORY BY ELECTING THE 1ST WOMAN PRESIDENT” she yells, and the uninformed and naive will flock to her like
lemmings toward a cliff.

After, and because of her Presidency, it will probably be another
200 years until a woman gets a chance again.

Elizabeth, Arlington, VA   January 17th, 2008 9:57 am ET

Seriously? Come on Hillary. You're lame, but not that lame.

Jean B   January 17th, 2008 9:56 am ET

A break from the monotony!

Brian Lipchik   January 17th, 2008 9:56 am ET

I am truly outraged by the Clinton's behavior regarding the pending lawsuit regarding Caucuses in Las Vegas. Had Hillary garnered the labor endorsements, then they would no problem at all with the Caucus locations. As soon as Barack was awarded the big endorsements, the Clinton smear machine went into action. This is yet another in the long line of self serving, opportunistic, back stabbing, political shenanigans the Clintons are famous for; sour grapes at its most refined. Bill Clinton, who I supported energetically in '92, is now looking like Karl Rove. The blatant twisting of the truth and the attempt to change the rules at this late date is shameful and really disgusting. I guess when a pathological liar looks in the mirror he's sees not just what he wants to see but, an a aggrandizement of what he thinks he is.

The Obabma camp must be quicker on its feet and smarter in the long run!

stupid

Ted   January 17th, 2008 9:55 am ET

If Hilary was the flight attendant its obvious her husband was the pilot (the one with the experience) not her. Gooooooo Obama.

Joe H   January 17th, 2008 9:53 am ET

I always knew she had a wicked sense of humor. And the story actually made me chuckle outloud which is welcomed on this rainy, dreary day in SC. Go HILL!

Yes2Hillary   January 17th, 2008 9:51 am ET

Go Hillary. Hillary 008

armand   January 17th, 2008 9:51 am ET

She's going to be a flight attendant after Obama beats her here Nevada. We Culinary workers will bring him the victory and he will double our pay when he becomes president and make everyone a legal immigrant and protect our rights!

Anonymous   January 17th, 2008 9:50 am ET

"And she urged the press to keep seat belts fastened because, "I have learned lately that things can get awfully bumpy."

She has no idea what is coming. If she is the candidate, she hasn't seen how bumpy bumpy can be. The attacks on her have not even begun. And when they do, I guarantee she will cry and cry again even more. She has so much dirt, so much divisiveness, so much negativity. Her own words, her own acts, and her own video clips are going to be turned on her in a way that you have no idea. And there's still that pesky Peter Paul court case....

Anybody But Hillary.

Tired of W, OH   January 17th, 2008 9:49 am ET

Just a second...
Let me go get my popcorn and wait for all the irrational Hillary haters to start their rants...
OK, all set. Let the mindless comments begin!

John   January 17th, 2008 9:49 am ET

Flight attendant indeed looks like she has found a new career oportunity nuff said she should probably take it after she looses on super tuesday.

S   January 17th, 2008 9:48 am ET

The more she does the less I believe she is doing this for America. This is about her thinking she is entitled to be president because she wants it. I can't wait to see what her next move is......

Debbie   January 17th, 2008 9:47 am ET

I think it is absolutely ridiculous that Hillary Clinton even "thinks" of taking a "win" when she was running against nobody.
The Democratic Party had asked them to abstain from the Michigan primary, but she doesn't withdraw from the race for a cheesy "win".
Is this blatant violation of the rules a sign of how she will conduct the Presidential office should she win?
Does she really think she is above the rules and better then everyone else?
Sure seems that way..

Ryan Indianapolis   January 17th, 2008 9:46 am ET

By far one of the most arrogant woman on the face of the earth....I am really starting to believe she might not be human....What a piece of Trash.....

mike   January 17th, 2008 9:46 am ET

Who wrote that for you? the three stooges.

Chaunda,IN   January 17th, 2008 9:46 am ET

If you have sense of humor this just funny. Please do not spin it into angry hatefilled diatribes on how Hillary is the Big Bad Wolf.

Alice, VA   January 17th, 2008 9:45 am ET

Talk about a nightmare flight!
