Edwards is completley right. Obama will never say word one against this ad because he will reap the benefit of it and the damage it does.

Of course if this ad were smearing him he would be screaming loudly and crying dirty politics over it.

Obama doesn't care about doing the right thing, he only cares about doing what is right for himself.

Edwards shows his leadership on this subject.Because right is right and wrong is wrong. It shows just how much Washington is out of touch with the American people, and reminds us of why Mr. Edwards is the only one in the Dem. party that can win in the general election come Nov.The Republicans would eat Clinton and Obama alive for this on the national stage, and people need to start thinking about this before they vote.

I dont really like Edwards but hes 100% correct

Obama speaks out against alot of wrongs in politics, BUT WHAT DOES HE DO?

He claims not to negative campaign, yet you see the ads

He claims not to take money from Pacs and special interest, He Does, youtube it

He claims to be a "champion" of voters rights. He is ignoring Floridas vote and took his name off the Michigan ballot (Truth, he tried in Florida, its against the law).

I know everybody thinks Hillary was pulling some political manuever by leaving her name on the ballot in MI. Actually its the other 2, Hillary took bad press in Iowa and NH by leaving her name on the ballot. Obama decided to take his name off his neighboring state, denying them the opportunity to voice their opinion. After failing to do the same in Florida his campaign has said Floridas Vote is of NO IMPORTANCE TO THEM.

Obama took 18 months to reach the floor of the Senate to protest the war (the crux of his 2004 speech)

Edwards has moved up to my number 2 choice behind Hillary, He takes stands on the issues important to him

I am no longer for an Obama/Edwards ticket.
I think it would be better to have a man and a woman in the white house......

is why I don't like Obama.... he contradicts everything that he
says... (here is the true flip flopper)...

Throughout the speech he bashes the Clintons, he bashes them in
respect to Regan... He says he wants to unite the parties... but
bashing one of the favorite democrats and praising republicans.....
ummm ok?

Then after bashing them he says I hate negative campaigns... yeah.... ok....

He is no different than all of the other candidates... though he
believes that he is above them...

Change...what change has he been recorded on.. where is the evidence
of this change...I would really like to actually hear his ideas... not
who he thinks that he resembles... he has almost exactly the same
platforms as the other democrats.. I don't see the change..?

EVERY
candidate in the democratic party wants CHANGE. I want a candidate
that is for action...not beliefs...dreams.... DREAMS will not help us
out of the crises in the economy, Iraq, terrorism, education, taxes,
energy, environment and other major topics. It is actually looking
over bills, discussing, being organized and strong about your
opinions... not having an aid have to "keep track of you".... or give
you papers "two seconds before you need them"....

Obama is a candidate of fashion, more like the iPhone, than he is like
those men. He is a candidate for affluent and trendy dilettantes
rather than for those who are suffering and ignored by those in power.
Hilary actually bridges the gap between the powerful and those who are
struggling. Her life has been a movement. She has shown courage. That
is why she won in New Hampshire.

If you look at the legislation that was voted on while he has been in
office.... he rarely votes yes/ or no... what are his opinions? I have
no idea.. I understand that he does not want to look controversial in
the public eye... "God's gift to the American people" but do something
for the American People. Who cares if you are controversial.. vote
first before others in the party do.... Popularity is a joke.. this
isn't high school.. you don't have to be at the cool table... haha. I
hate people who jump on the band wagon... and that is what he is. Too
Green to have opinions of his own... or even know what they are. Sure
he is smart... law is a great thing to have under your belt.. but it
can't be the only thing.

I am beginning to feel as though I would not be able to vote for Barrack. As a registered Democrat, I have been thinking that I will vote for our nominee, regardless of which candidate it is. I could accept any of the 3 top three.

However, Barrack is coming across as very arrogant to me lately. I'm not sure that I want this type of arrogance in my president. I've lived with the same arrogance coming from GW all these years. I prefer someone that is tough and intelligent and not so full of themselves.

The Democratic field is a joke.

Obama has been in the senate for 2-3 years with few accomplishments and has spent most of his time as a senator running for President all of 07.

Hillary is trying to use her husband to get elected... She too has few accomplishments as a senator and has the audacity to say she has 30 years experience. She has more scandal than anybody else. i.e, campaign finance laws broke with Hsu in the Lincoln bedroom just to name one.

Edwards is nothing but a rich lawyer.

John Edwards speaks of a divisive ad by Obama supporters yet his attack rhetoric is just as divisive. Instead of attacking Obama supporter ads, spend your time convincing me why I should vote for you, not why I shouldn't vote for the other guy.

You politicians will never get it!

MARK MY WORDS. So, actually, nicknas is the other way around.

"John Edwards was criticized by Obama in Iowa for not calling an independent group that supported the former North Carolina senator to demand they pull ads they were running in support of his candidacy."

So, in other words, Edwards is criticizing Obama for acting in the same exact manner with these independent groups as he did. Edwards said that he had no control over an independent-run ad supporting him, even though his former presidential campaign manager was the person behind it. Does Obama not get the same excuse?

In any event, there's no way the Obama campaign doesn't jump on this issue. The Teachers' Union, which supports Hillary, was attempting to disenfranchise thousands of union voters. The provision which allows members of the Culinary Workers' Union to vote in caucuses in the casinos is intended to ensure they don't get fired for merely expressing their right to vote.

The decision to allow them to caucus in casinos was made many months ago, and the Teachers' Union waited until 2 days after the Culinary Workers endorsed Obama to take issue with this. The voting will be taking place on SATURDAY, and Nevada's teachers will not be working. They should have no problem voting for Hillary tomorrow, unless they for some reason find their conscience.

Their lawsuit was a clear attempt to disenfranchise voters. This is not what the Democratic Party stands for. And if John Edwards is as committed to the lower class as he says he is, he really should be lambasting Hillary's attempt to prevent the lower class from voting. Pro-Union, born-in the mills John Edwards should really be fighting against the "status quo."

The Republican party is supposed to be the party that counts on the suppression of minority voters. I'm sadly disappointed that any member of the Democratic party would try to engage in this type of political maneuvering.

Why are all of you people blinded by a speech. When Obama puts an American Flag Pin on his lapel and says the pledge of allegiance to our flag, I might consider him as a worthy candidate. Right now he is a man who does not consider our flag worth being loyal too.

Let's get real... Edwards is once again "auditioning" for Veep... after Obama won the Iowa caucuses he dumped on Mrs. Clinton. Now that Mrs. Clinton has won in NH, he is dumping on Obama... let's see what he does as the primaries and caucuses proceed...

And what about his attack on Obama when Obama was reflecting on what made Ronald Reagan a force for conservative change in America?

As campaigns go, they have all stayed away from the real down and out nasty that Republicans do so well... Remember Papa Bush's Willy Horton ads and Dubbya's Swift boat attacks on a real war hero, Kerry and for that matter the S.C. attack by Dubbya's folks accusing McCain of fathering a Black child because he adopted one... Hey all this is peanuts compared to the guys who really know how to dish out political S....

He does seem to be opposing Obama more and more. And he even mentioned "attacking Senator Clinton." I wonder what the deal is between Clinton and Edwards. After that debate in NH where Edwards smacked her around, they seemed to be playing nice the other night in Vegas. Maybe Edwards wants VP after all?

Its alright Mrs Clinton, and Mr Edwards, the American people are pretty smart. We have the ability to see through Obamas hidden Agenda. I do agree that this kind of campaigning really turns me off. I Want to know what a candidate is going to do for my country. I don't get thet information when candidates are slandering one another. Their are several questions the American people want answered I can't ask them, if I do, they won't publish my comments. Just know that the American people are smarter then politicians give us credit for.

Hillary campaign made an attempt to stop casino workers from caucausing and failed. I don't see anything wrong in pointing that out. She made her decisions to file a lawsuit against what her party agreed to, and she should bear the consequences. If the shoes were to be on the other side, edward and clinton would have done what obama is doing. Anybody that says otherwise is not being honest!

Obama has always been a traitor to the democratic party.
He ignores party loyalists by auctioning party values to so-called independants and republicans.
He seemed to have forgotton that this is democratic primary.
This is about selecting a candidate who represent party values.
He can appeal to the middle in a general election.
Before that he needs get the nomination.
He's so full of it, and thinks he's better than rest of the democrats.
He insults democrats saying they are dividers.
No one better divides party than Obama.
How can he unite the country by dividing his own party?

I am more convinced to support John Edwards. To the person who complained that Edwards "doesn't have anything nice to say" about America. We are heading into a recession and millions of Americans are losing their homes. We are bogged down in an illegal war that costs $12 billion month. George Bush has cost us all respect of other nations around the world, and yet is no closer to capturing Bin Laden than ever. Maybe you just don't like hearing the truth.

I happen to prefer the truth over the lies the other party spews, and Edwards is becoming the only Democrat who isn't whitewashing it. He HAS been talking about what he wants to do about it. Just visit his website why don't you?

The media are playing favorites and deliberately not reporting on Edwards. Don't forget Democrats he is the only candidate who beats all Republicans in a head to head vote! Please support Edwards. Please spread the word, and quickly!

Great work, Edwards!!! Obama's hair-splitting, double standards crap has to stop. We Americans are so lucky that the primary/caucus process is lengthy. It takes a while to realize that a great speech-giver is just that...a great speech-giver. Sure Obama has done more than give great speeches, but not enough more, not yet...he is so green, and we are realizing that more and more. At least I am.

Thumbs Way Up, Edwards!!!

And Joe, I, too, was leaning towards Obama a while back, but I got completely fed up with his arrogance and his...as you say...holier than thou bull.

Isn't Obama the guy who said he didn't want a divisive, attack-filled campaign? What happened to his "message" of optimism and unity?

Maybe now that he has tried to aligned himself with Reagan, maybe he feels like he must further embrace the more typical slice-n-dice republican campaign style to get the cross-over votes.

What do all of you here say now, after you climbed on the bandwagon and declared Obama was the better candidiate because he called for a truce with Clinton first (not really but that's the way the media played it)? Where's that golden glow you were all imaging around his head now?

It makes lots of sense for each candidate to call the other on mistatements of the facts. I've lost faith in the truthfulness of our current government and if Democrats don't play it straight in 2008, there's nowhere else to go. Thank you Senator Edwards.

What is John Edwards trying to portray?

That he backed the suit brought by personal supporters of Hillary Clinton?

I thought he was a fighter for the people?

He didn't denounce the 527 group that was misrepresenting Obama. Why is he now becoming so indignant over the rights that were almost lost to the pooer caucaus voters?

And this last sentence in the article is a pruposeful misrepresentation of the timeline:
"The Clinton campaign has expressed frustration with the fact that the spots are continuing to run, even though a judge ruled against the suit."

The judge ruled against the suit that the Clinton supporters of the Teachers Union filed. THEN the radio ads began.

It doesn't matter because now the teachers in the Teachers Union are mad that the executives brought this suit without the full concensus of the body.

She may very well lose the independent teachers vote.

John Edwards is come see, come saw.

He needs to pick a side and stick with it.

He 's trying to grasp at anything at this point to pull out a win.

Think of it: If John Edwards can relegate obama to a third place finish in iowa, it would make his John Edwards candidacy more viable. Ergo the attacks on Obama.

GO OBAMA!!!

So if another orginization attacks your opponent, you're supposed to appologize and condone it?
-(she deserves it anyways for trying to take away voters' rights by that lawsuit)

I didn't see the Clinton campaign condone or even appologize when the leader of the Black Entertainment TV attacked Obama on teenage drug use.
-(which to me is a harsher personal attack)

I abs. agree with Emily! I was not too fond of Edwards before this, but he took a stand when he didnt have to and I think that took a lot of courage...Its about time Obama practice what he preached...I hope thats not how he would run this country..say one, very idealistic thing, and never act on it!
This is why I support Hillary, experience, a record of hard work and ACTION!

Wow. Go Edwards. This is what Edwards had to do long time. Obama is playing a Saint upfront and hypocrit behind closed doors. John Edwards need to attack Obama hypocrisy especially when it comes to Yucca Mountian and his endorsers. I think this strategy can help Edwards because Obama is taking away his votes but it maybe too late. Edwards is more pro union than Obama who voted against so many Union positions.

Edwards and Clinton get a taste of their own medicine, and they -just now- decided that it doesn't taste good? I don't think so.

At least the ad is truthful. The Clintons were obviously behind the lawsuit. The same plaintiffs in the suit were Clinton supporters who had NO problem with the sites when they were on the site selection committee back in March.

Clinton IS shameless. Her mailers against Obama are BLATANTLY false (suggesting Obama is pro-life?! suggesting Obama is in favor of Yucca Mountain?!).

"The Clinton campaign has expressed frustration with the fact that the spots are continuing to run, even though a judge ruled against the suit. "

It was the Clintons want to disinfranchise the Union Voters......Does the Voters have the right to know this since it was so close to the Nevada Caucus--Dam right the Union must inform the Nevada people....Your not going to get it both ways with some cost for your action.

Edwards can't get elected by attacking others when they do"wrong" as this is not a test of which candidate least wrongs the other. The best time to bring this up is during the debates when Obama can answer it outright. I am for Obama and Edwards needs to stop the whining!

Oh yeah, when Edwards says anything about Clinton you make him Obama's running mate and praise him. Now because he takes on Obama, Edwards needs to be blamed. Some of you.. are you stupid or paid to make these remarks? What can any rational human being be so 'in love' with this Obama comedian who transformed the Democratic race into a joke? If he is on his own, he is a jerk. If he is an extension of Republicans, those people have class because they succeeded to divert the attention from real issues in the Democratic camp.

Ask Alice Palmer of Chicago how he treats his female competitors. She learned about Obama's hooey-speak the hard way. I hope Edwards keeps pointing out this hypocricy, and I hope someone soon points out that the candidate of "change" has basically recycled advisors from the Clinton presidency to advise him on matters international and otherwise. I love Edwards but think he has no chance at all of getting anything done. If we are going to get Clinton advisors, I'd rather stick with the original Clinton to try to work with them. With what's going on in the economy, it's too dangerous a time to vote for Mr All Vision No Action.

John Edwards rarely talks about issues of substance. John Edwards has a populist message of "TWO AMERICAS, THE RICH AND THE POOR". But what Edwards supporters don't fully appreciate is that John Edwards is rich. In fact John Edwards is the second richest candidate in the presidential race for both Democrats and Republicans. He has stated net worth of $55 million. All this talk of being the son of a poor mill worker when he has been a multi-millionare for years and lives in a 28,000 ft mansion is troubling for me. Edwards has a wife who has an incurable form of cancer and chooses to waste time and money running for president again instead of spending quality time with his wife and kids.

Edwards' one-term senator record is riddled with major problems. A lot of the major issues in this campaign that have come up Edwards voted yes to (i.e. Bankruptcy Reform Bill, Yucca Mountain Nuclear Waste Dump, War in Iraq, No Child Left Behind and Trade Agreement with China to name a few). He has since said he is very sorry for voting for those bill. Okay i'm a forgiving guy, but not for continuous bad judgement!

This whole stink about the independent ad issue is just a smoke screen. When Obama criticized Edwards for a 527 group running ads in Iowa, Obama had justification. The guy who led that 527 group was John Edwards's 2004 presidential campaign manager. The union running ads in Nevada is not a 527 group and Obama just recently received that union's endorsement.

If Edwards truly wants media attention, he should just drop of the race!

I am absolutley astounded at the media's lack of attention on this race issue. Only last week, all of the media, including CNN, were gasping and commenting on the injenction of race into the Democratic presidential race. And, now, when it comes to Latinos, the lights are out at CNN. Where is Anderson Cooper? Where is Wolf Blitzer? Where is the broad coverage on this issue? Where is the condemnation of Sen. Obama? Is this the "change" that we can all believe in? Is this the message of hope that he grandstands upon at his events? With silence from Sen. Obama and CNN on this issue, what does this say about the respect for Latinos? In all the roundtable discussions and political analysis from the experts on CNN, have you noticed not one Latino voice in the mix. What does this say?

It's funny that the Obama fans just can't admit their candidate is a politician like every other candidate and will do what it takes to win. It's a shameful ad, but that's politics. Obama like Bush, claims he's going to unite the country, but it seems to me, he's dividing the democrats. If you can't unite you're own party, then you can't unite the country. Come on Obama, step up and do what's right. I know if this was Clinton or Edwards running this ad, Obama supporters would losing their minds

This ad has been running for two days and yet still Obama hasn't said a word.

Ahh, the politics of having it both ways.
