LAS VEGAS (CNN) - CNN projects Mitt Romney will win the Republican caucuses in Nevada.

Filed under: Mitt Romney • Nevada

Richard from Detroit   January 19th, 2008 5:43 pm ET

Congratulations for your victory in Nevada Mr Romney. Its true that Nevada went to Romney because of its large Mormon population and he will also win Utah but there are more segments of our population than just Mormons that are supporting him. Many Catholics and Orthodox of Eastern European background are also supporting him.And yes, Illegal Immigration is a very important issue to us , not just to concerned US citizens in the border states of Texas,Arizona,New Mexico and California. Also I have known the history of Mormons for many years now while reading and studying US History,Wild West History,Mexican American War and American Military History.Sure they had beliefs that I and many US citizens of other religious churches disagreed on, sometimes violently and they in turn had committed some violent acts themselves but thats in the past and the Mormon religion is not the same like it was in 1850.They have contributed alot to the history of our country, the founding of many cities and towns we recognize today by their forefathers from New Hampshire to California, the Mormon battalion during the American Mexican War, important in that it was and is the only religious unit ever to serve in the United States Army. Many of their members went on to help build California and the American West by working at Sutters Mill and were the first to discover Gold. They were described as very hard working, financially responsible, friendly, likeable patriotic individuals.I believe Romney would be a very good President and the best counter to the Democrats open door policy to immigrants and terrorist south of the Rio Grande.

Alice   January 19th, 2008 5:35 pm ET

Mike,

You are absolutely right; those organized Mormons can bring out the vote for Romney. AND...they will do it again in Utah.

However, let us just suppose that Romney doesn't get enough delegates for the nomination. Unfortunately, Giuliani isn't out of the picture. One might question whether Mukasey's appointment was part of a back room Republican deal to cleanse Giuliani, helping to bring in the numbers for him in NY, Florida, California, Ohio, etc. Wouldn't Romney's delegates then be attractive as barter for the VP position?

Do you suppose those same organized Mormons would work so hard for Romney in the general election if Giuliani proved to be top of the ticket?

Thomas   January 19th, 2008 4:37 pm ET

This election is shaping up to be a choice between the lesser of two evils.

Romney or Hillary? Romney or Hillary? This is going to be a tough choice.

Maybe I'll just go shoot staples into my skull.

whatsitToyou   January 19th, 2008 4:26 pm ET

I have always leaned more towards the Republican side, and the only Republican I would vote for is Romney. So democrats can say way to go Republicans you are picking a candidate who will be creamed. The truth is I would rather have Obama win than Huckster or McCain!

Jen   January 19th, 2008 4:24 pm ET

I support the Mitt Romney who signed legislation protecting the right to choose and had the state supreme court make MA the first state in the union to give gays the right to marry. When will that Mitt Romney make an appearance?

David   January 19th, 2008 4:23 pm ET

Romney changed once on abortion, and I am glad that he is now against it. I haven't heard of him changing on anything else, so I don't know why he is the big flip-flopper.

Zman   January 19th, 2008 4:16 pm ET

Romney won't even win Massachusetts. If you knew Slick Willard like we know Slick Willard...flip flop. flip flop. Will the real Willard Romney please stand up?

Aaron Garrett Ottumwa, IOWA   January 19th, 2008 4:14 pm ET

STEVE:

Is that so steve? As I was sitting here today, with LESS THAN 1000 votes counted, another media provider ( I cant say their name or my message wont be posted) ran a story from the Associated press with the headline

AND I QUOTE

Romney wins Nevada; Clinton leads Dems

FROM THE TEXT *QUOTE*
AP WASHINGTON – Democratic senators Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama vied for victory in Nevada presidential caucuses Saturday in a race marred by last-minute claims of dirty politics. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney easily won the Republican contest.

For Romney, the Nevada victory marked a second straight success for the former Massachusetts governor, coming quickly after a first-place finish in the Michigan primary revived a faltering campaign.

END QUOTE

This is disgusting. There were as I said, less than 1000 vote in at the time of the posting of the story.

sharon walker   January 19th, 2008 4:11 pm ET

Dear Friends:

Please read How the Mind Works by Steven Pinker.

Vote for Senator John McCain.

The enemy is at thy feet.

Romney would want the illegals to overtake this nation, cause a recession and
bring home mortgages to the highest they ever have been in the history of the USA.
LDS gets more 10% donations. Bring them on. Romney has no history of military conflict with his faith for him to be in command.

David   January 19th, 2008 4:11 pm ET

It's great that Romney is winning Nevada by such a large margin. He also was smart to stop wasting time in South Carolina because many protestants don't give him the time of day simply because he is mormon.

Mitt is definitely the smartest candidate out there. In the debates he is the only candidate that seems to have a specific plan. The other candidates are really the ones who will tell you what you want to hear. Especially Huckabee. That guy seems like he is reciting poetry in his answers. All those lovely figures of speech.

MItt has great family values, and will be strong on immigration terrorism. I don't know what everyone else bases their vote on, but mine will be for Romney because he is the best to lead this country. He truly wants what is best for this country.

So what if Mitt is rich and using that to his advantage. That just shows how successful and smart he is.

Next move for Mitt is to campaign in Florida and win a bunch of delegates.
Go Mitt!

Tom Dedham, Mass   January 19th, 2008 4:08 pm ET

Dave- Claremont, NH

Dave, this state has had that on the books for YEARS for one reason, the MUCH BELOVED DEMOCRATIC legislature would not go along with Romney's plan (OR ANY of his REPUBLICAN predecessors) to change it to OPEN UP the state for all insurance companies to do business here.

The possibility for the changes to occur is happening now ONLY because the MUCH BELOVED DEMOCRATIC legislature was/is willing to play ball with Devil Patrick.

Romney did INDEED change his views on abortion after meeting and seeing how 'the process" works.

Do all you Democratic sheep really think your candidates have NEVER changed their views? I will gladly supply you a LIST.

If you still think EXACTLY like you did YEARS ago, your minds are simply closed.

Your standard bearer does it debate to debate, poll to poll, crowd to crowd and sentence to sentence, but "she" doesn't get tagged with that.

Romney changed it over a period of YEARS, not like "her" who REALLY does it ALL the time.

Congrats Nevada, excellent choice, now we just need to you to pull through for Obama, who is the other candidate that could bring change.

Romney/LIz Dole 2008

David   January 19th, 2008 4:08 pm ET

Keep writing yourself those checks for your campaign Mitt. For you Romney supporters, why are you voting for him? Just because that's all you see on the t.v? Do some actual research on the candidates, not just follow what the media shows you. You'll be surprised to see what your voting for. Also check out that "long shot" candidate Ron Paul, Hope for America.

adampeart   January 19th, 2008 4:01 pm ET

Aaron Garrett,
You said it brother!

I'm spending my soon-to-be-coming tax rebate on the Ron Paul campaign! At least I know HIS country of origin and what he's made of, unlike the cheap Chinese garbage that Bush and Bernnake want us to buy!

We'll see if Dr. Paul gets the coverage he deserves, finally, when he takes a strong second in NV! Or will Fox try to change history again by pretending it never happened!?

It's the economy stupid! Vote for the man who knows how to save us from ourselves!
Stop spending our tax dollars overseas!

Ron Paul 2008!

Cable King Pittsburgh PA   January 19th, 2008 3:58 pm ET

What make of car is Mitt selling this week?

I'll bet its an expensive new one!

mrs Toby L fox   January 19th, 2008 3:55 pm ET

I am a registered republican but I have watched all the debates in both parties. I really like Mitt Romney but I have one suggestion that I wish I could get to his adviser or his wife. He needs to wear a red tie. It shows so much better than any other color and I have never seen him in red. Just a little suggestion that I think would help him. Thanks, so much. Toby Fox

Steve of Indiana   January 19th, 2008 3:51 pm ET

The media isn't declaring anyone as winner, they are making PROJECTIONS based on the information they are getting from people as they are going to vote.

The media doesn't choose the candidate, the voters do, why are we so upset that they are projecting Mitt Romney as the winner?

Tom Davie   January 19th, 2008 3:48 pm ET

Mitt Romney is the only Republican with the 'star power' to beat Obama. Or at least neutralize it to a significant degree.

I dont know why everyone thinks 71 year old John McCain thinks he can pull off a 'change' message. He is a great guy but really was too loyal to president bush.

Tony, MA   January 19th, 2008 3:44 pm ET

To Dave from Claremont, NH. By what you said about car insurance in MA proves you never lived in MA. Car insurance was regulated by the state of MA long before Romney was governor. He tried to deregulate it but the overwhelmingly Democratic Beacon Hill prevented it from happening. Get your facts straight next time.

Jeff in CA   January 19th, 2008 3:42 pm ET

PLEASE TELL ME HOW YOU CAN CLAIM RESPONSIBLE JOURNALISM BY PROJECTING A WINNER OF ANY CAUCUS, PRIMARY, OR ELECTION BEFORE THE POLLS CLOSE. LET THE VOTERS DO THEIR JOB AND ALLOW THEM TO BE COUNTED.

THE PEOPLE ARE VOTING NOT MEDIA CONGLOMERATES. LET OUR VOICES BE HEARD.

Eric, Seattle WA   January 19th, 2008 3:38 pm ET

Romney beat McCain among veterans and beat Huckabee among evangelicals.
Go Romney Go!

Aaron Garrett Ottumwa, IOWA   January 19th, 2008 3:36 pm ET

Heres the update the media will only give you on the back pages. You need a search engine to find RON PAUL on the mainstream medias sites.

FYI------------Ron Paul has held STRONG IN SECOND PLACE throughout the caucus IN NEVADA. It has been a battle but I see him winning second in the end.

The impossible winner is making a charge.

But you wont know from the front pages of the media.

Steve of Indiana   January 19th, 2008 3:32 pm ET

Let's look at what Mitt HAS accomplished vs what the other candidates have actually accomplished.

We are in financial crisis, and we need a leader who understands money and will work to get us back on track. While Mitt was governor he closed a $3billion budget deficit WITHOUT raising taxes!
When the 2002 olympics were trying to recover from scandal, and were in severe finacial trouble, Mitt came in and turned things around. Through his leadership the games went from a disaster to a wonderful success that actually made a profit!

He is the ONLY candidate (rep or dem) that in my mind is qualified for the office of President. He has the experience, both private and public, to be able to have a chance to turn this nation around.

And who says he can't beat a democrat in the general election? He was (as a repulican) elected Governor in a primarily democratic state.

I think the biggest issue for Mitt will be the one of religion, but I think his business and political experience help to alleviate concerns here too. He has shown that he can make decisions for himself, and will do what it takes to lead in the direction that we need to go.

Gundy - Out west.   January 19th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

Yeah Romster.......Most delegates, most state wins, most popular vote, most potential, most competent, most intelligent---Romney will be our President come January 09!!!

Karen L. Reimer   January 19th, 2008 3:21 pm ET

WHY IS DR. RON PAUL PLACED IN A NEWS BLACKOUT? HE ALSO RAN IN NEVADA AND NOT A MENTION OF HIS NAME IN YOUR ARTICLES? HOW DID HE DO? YOU MENTION OTHER CANDIDATES WHO HAVE RECEIVED FEWER VOTES AND LESS MONETARY DONATIONS? MANY OF US SUPPORT RON PAUL AND WOULD LIKE THE NEWS MEDIA TO INCLUDE HIS CAMPAIGN IN THE NEWS COVERAGE. HOW ARE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE SUPPOSED TO MAKE AN INTELLIGENT DECISION WHEN THEY ARE NOT GIVEN COMPLETE INFORMATION BY THE NEWS MEDIA ABOUT WHO IS RUNNING FOR OFFICE! SHAME ON YOU CNN.

Lisa   January 19th, 2008 3:18 pm ET

Dave from NH - you've got it wrong: your auto insurance costs had nothing to to do Mitt - in fact, Mitt tried to do everything he could to fix your auto insurance rates, introducing a form of competitive rating in place of the current system of state-set uniform rates in MA (which is a nightmare).

His plan was thwarted by a cowardly (Democrat) State senate, which was coerced to reject Mitt's plan by the powerful indepdent agent's lobby of Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents.

Before you decide to blame him for the issues in Mass, get your facts straight. He made a ton of great change in a state where the Senate was determined to ensure he did nothing. Mitt's a leader, through and through.

Greg   January 19th, 2008 3:17 pm ET

Another sweet victory for Romney. Let’s hope that this victory gets as much play in the media as the results in SC, particularly since Nevada is worth more delegates. A Romney/Thompson ticket would be formidable in November, particularly with Romney’s overall strength and acumen and Thompson’s strength in the south.

Aaron Garrett Ottumwa, IOWA   January 19th, 2008 3:14 pm ET

Crap like that is the reason the Presidency was handed to Bush way before the votes were counted.

The media apologized then.

Apparently they were less thana sincere. Sincere would mean they wont do it again.

You have let us down.

Steve   January 19th, 2008 3:13 pm ET

The Romney camp is smiling, but just imagine the ear to ear grins at the Democratic National Committee headquarters. The Republican Dukasis, nice foresight GOP voters.

Aaron Garrett Ottumwa, IOWA   January 19th, 2008 3:12 pm ET

The news is information– not entertainment. Quit trying to scoop NBC at the price of the devaluation of democracy. Let them count more than 1,000 votes before you call the next primary.

Jane Leasman   January 19th, 2008 3:11 pm ET

I wouldn't trust Huckabee across the street! We have had enough of this Religious Right nonsense...Bush is a fine example of that. Hypocrites!

Aaron Garrett Ottumwa, IOWA   January 19th, 2008 3:10 pm ET

Is Romney pro or anti abortion this election? I forget?

He's so hard to keep track of?

(maybe it just depends on what part of the electorate he is courting that day)

stacy   January 19th, 2008 3:09 pm ET

Any one but Ron Paul for president will spell disaster for the United States. Not one of the other candidates give a darn about us citizens.

Jane Leasman   January 19th, 2008 3:08 pm ET

I would predict that my State of Arizona will go for Romney. Most of us would not even vote for McCain for Senator again, and many Republicans would cross-over and vote for our Democrat Gov. Janet Napolitano vs. McCain. Although, since she has endorsed Obama, there seems to be fewer Republicans who would do so.

FLIP but NOT FLOP   January 19th, 2008 3:06 pm ET

I'm so done with the FLIP FLOP attacks on Romney... because he changed posistions on abortion.... at most it's a FLIP - if he changes back add to it a FLOP.

FLIP FLOP was Made famous or most famous by John Kerry because his posistions on key issues changed multiple times.

Changing your position once is called learning – it's called growing.

Changing your posistion – then changing it back – then repeating....well that is called FLIP FLOPPING. No one has convinced me that Romney has done that. There are a few candidates who do seem to qualify though.

Karen   January 19th, 2008 3:05 pm ET

To Wes, I was a 20 yr Dem (recently turned Inde) and I would support Romney over Obama. I have been looking at all of the candidates. Not every Dem is an Obama supporter.

Farrell, Houston, Tx   January 19th, 2008 3:05 pm ET

Romney is not running his candidacy on religion. The web site for a religious candidacy is Huckabee's, in case anyone needs to turn the channel.

KC   January 19th, 2008 3:01 pm ET

How many polls said 50% for Mitt? The dems and media know that Mitt would crush any liberal socialist on the dem side in a one on one debate. Thus the dems and media are still talking up the Huckster and other losers.

Romney is winning the Republican base. If anyone undecided will to listen with an open mind to Mitt speak, it will only take a few minutes to see that he is brilliant.

McCain is just another Sr Senator war veteran who has no winning ideas like Bob Dole was a sr senator war vet in 1996. Obama/Oprah or the Clintons would have a very big victory against McCain just like Slick did against Dole back in 96.

Now that the news is out that Rudy is low on money, Mitt is the only candidate that can go the distance and win in November. If the people of Florida do not wake up and give Mitt a win that would make the dems and the media very happy indeed. A vote for McCain or the Huckster is a vote for the Democrats and economic & international failure.

Dave- Claremont, NH   January 19th, 2008 3:01 pm ET

I lived in Mass. and I'm not sure I was to keen on Mitt's economic plans to begin with. As it was we were forced to pay the highest car insurance rates in the country because only a few companies would supply to us being there was a flat rate state wide; regardless of your driving record. Now Imagine how I felt when I heard that manditory health care insuance was sweeping the state. All I have to say is I'm glad I live in New Hampshire now. Mitt was pro abortion back in 94 now he's pro life?.. People can change for the better thats true, but I don't know if I trust him yet. I voted Mike Hukabee.

Michael   January 19th, 2008 3:01 pm ET

Mormons should be careful what they hope for. Mitt Romney will only draw more attention to its odd beliefs and its origins at the hands of a 19th Century money digger and convicted fraud.

Anonymous   January 19th, 2008 2:59 pm ET

Nevada got it right today!
Romney is winning the Republican base. If anyone undecided will to listen with an open mind to Mitt speak, it will only take a few minutes to see that he is brilliant. No, No No....! Duh!!! Romney won Nevada because Nevada is full of well-organized Mormons and Romney is a Mormon. Expect him to do well in Utah as well.

More CNN propoganda – They probably crafted that projection last night after the IT guys left the server rooms.

Brian   January 19th, 2008 2:53 pm ET

I disagree, I think that if people DID their research, they WOULD vote for Romney! He's a great guy who's proved himself regardless of the flip flop tag he got stuck with by his pundants. He's consistent and conservative and will change Washington to become a better America.

Chelsea   January 19th, 2008 2:52 pm ET

Yay Mitt! It's a much deserved win! And he has 51% of the votes so far!

Dylan   January 19th, 2008 2:51 pm ET

Uhhh... MIke. It's McCAIN. Not McClaim. Looks like you need to watch a little more election coverage.

Jen Cedar Falls, IA   January 19th, 2008 2:50 pm ET

It may be only an observation, but I think it's an important one to consider:

I believe that another successful aspect of Mitt Romney is his family life. His ability to honor his marriage vows, being faithful to his 1 wife and raising 5 SONS that all love and highly respect him. All this while working extremely hard in his professions is NO EASY TASK.

Let's look at the others;

; McCain left his wife who stood by him while he was a POW, to marry a rich Barbie doll.
; Fred Thompson, well what do you think? You've seen her.
; Mike Huckabee also stayed married throughout the years, but is still no serious candidate for the job due to the fact that he doesn't know what he's talking about in this race for the White House.
; Guiliani, well you know he's on #3 also and didn't get there using good judgment!

; Hillary stayed married to her philandering husband so she could make the history books as first female president. Ick. Can you even name all of the girls Bill had that we KNOW about? I've lost count. That is NOT a good marriage, folks.
; Edwards, well folks, I feel sorry for him because he really shouldn't have run this time around. His ill wife and their children will need his undivided attention within the next 4 years and he's young enough to run at a later time. I hope I don't come across cold with that, but it's how many many people feel. It's sad to me.
; Obama has also been a good husband and father. Leadership is his platform.

Don't discredit these important facts about the candidates. They speak loudly of a persons integrity, their ability to uphold their vows throughout many years and their willingness to work through lifechanges and growth. All of this with a determination to succeed for best interests of everyone, and for the long haul.

These marriage-successful people have leadership qualities that the others are missing. And 5 children who love, admire and respect you speaks volumes!

Don't EVEN go there with the Hillary stayed w/ Bill thing. We know why she did. We also know why Bill strayed throughout all those years.

Dave   January 19th, 2008 2:50 pm ET

Wow Mike,

First – spelling is important and your attempt at humor is disrespectful to say the least. I'm sure you advocate the same disrespect for all candidates?

Second – The only current candidate running as you misstated above against Governor Romney in the Republican primary is Senator McCain. Please have the decency and respect towards an elected official. I believe you would expect the same respect. I also wonder question whether you have ever earned the same right to be called a Governor or Senator of Massachusetts or The United States of America.

Third – I seriously doubt that Governor Romney's campaign wants you to be their caustic spokesperson. You are a "basher" and the last thing this country needs. Governor Mitt Romney and Senator John McCain are both passionate about their drive to make a difference for our country and our citizens. They both have different policies and different styles. It is this variance among all people that has provided the innovation to move our country in just over two hundred years to be a global leader..

Fourth – Have you not calculated that Governor Romney and Senator McCain may run together after the primary – think before you hate.

Jeff- Plainfield, IL   January 19th, 2008 2:49 pm ET

I don't know how many from the Democratic side feel the same way, but at least this voter has some cross-asile support for Romney.

I am an democratic-leaning independent, voting for Obama in the Illinois Democratic primary, but Mitt Romney quickly becoming the leading Republican candidate means I may actually enjoy this election.

If Obama wins the ticket, I'm voting for Obama.

If Edwards vs. Anyone-But-Romney, Edwards.

Ewards vs. Romney: Romney

Clinton vs. Romney: Romney

Clinton vs. Any other GOP candidate: No vote : (

Our elected officials would be elected much more intelligently if people would think about all of the issues relelvant to them and the nation, assess their relative importance and the potential influence of said elected official.

Too many people vote based on their one primary issue, disregarding all others. We are never going to have the 'perfect' candidate. People should choose based on their preferred balance. Absolutism does not help in any undertaking.

When I hear people say they will vote for "whoever the (rep/dem) candidate is, it makes me wish they were not allowed to vote. I have many concerns: international relations, the environment, energy policy, etc., but the issue holding the most weight for me is the economy. Too many strikes against in the other categories, and even that predominant issue can be trumped, however, I'm willing to give some in other issues in exchange for whatever I see as the overall best balance.

I can only hope if Romney is elected, his business skills help him return the Republican party to its conservative, small government roots. Neoconservatism is really just another name and another style of Ultra-Liberalism.

wes   January 19th, 2008 2:49 pm ET

Did you notice how the obama supporter says go Mitt. That's because democrats know if Romney wins the republican nomination, the democrats will win the presidency. Democrats have that figured out, why don't republicans?

Dave   January 19th, 2008 2:49 pm ET

Do whats right ! Vote for MIKE!

Hales, West Lafayette, IN   January 19th, 2008 2:48 pm ET

It's nice when you go and do your research and determine who's the best candidate to see people gradually come into line with your views. Nevada made a good decision today. Go Mitt!

David   January 19th, 2008 2:47 pm ET

It's a sad day for the United States when Mitt Romney of all people is winning states over. If you did your research on what each politician is for and against, I strongly believe most of those who voted for Romney wouldn't vote for him again.

Chris   January 19th, 2008 2:42 pm ET

No one remembers how much trepidation there was about having the winter Olympics in Park City. Remember this was right after the 2001 terrorists attacks on America. One newspaper in Europe called it the "world's largest target". Romney took over the Olympics and PROTECTED them from what would've been a very visible and demoralizing attack. He is amazing and I will be voting for him in November after he wins the nomination.

Jed in Texas   January 19th, 2008 2:34 pm ET

Guess we know who the money changers want in the Temple of Money.

Texas   January 19th, 2008 2:34 pm ET

Romney is political play-dough. He will say anything in order to appeal to whomever is eligible to vote. Many people are saying that we need a CEO for president. Well, we've had a two CEO's running the country for seven years and look at the condition we are in as a result.
Romney's political career paralells Bush's in the fact that he came from a political family in which he benefited in the private sector. He became govenor in the most liberal state in the union by trying to appeal to everyone and when it comes to a national campaign he reinvented himself to appeal to the conservatives.
Honestly, I hope he gets the nomination. Besides Huckabee, he is the one republican candidate most likely to get the political poop knocke out of him in a general election.

CMartel2   January 19th, 2008 2:33 pm ET

"Mitt is the biggest fraud of this election."

Frauds aren't the kinds of people that succeed as business pioneers and establish reputations as being winners and having squeeky clean backgrounds.

Your bias isn't based in reality. Think about it a bit.

Oh and by the way. Thanks to CNN for predicting the primaries with ZERO PERCENT of the coutnies reporting, and barely 1,000 votes in. First they tell us who can win and who cant. Now they want to tell us who wins before they even count the votes. The media has shown a WANTON DISREGARD for the sanctitiy of this election– and a lack of concern for the power of YOUR vote.

Ron Paul in 2008!!!

Mitt Romney is the Democrats best hope, he polls about 20-30 points behind both Clinton and Obama. If the Republicans are dumb enough to nomiinate this smuck, they deserve their fate.

BTW, quite a victory, winning an uncontested caucus.

Cade   January 19th, 2008 2:29 pm ET

Got to say it after much research..

Romney is the only man of these candidates that has the skills to lead this country. He wins it not only for his values, but for what he can do for our economy and immigration problem. He's also an amazing leader.

Mitt '08!

Aaron Garrett Ottumwa, IOWA   January 19th, 2008 2:28 pm ET

Mitt is the biggest fraud of this election. And most in recent memory including Bush... no matter how much I despise him. He is a but a ruse... Romney on the other hand is fully aware of his deception.

"I am a lifelong hunter" LIE

"I saw my father march with Martin Luther King" LIE

the list goes on and on.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Having known Mitt almost all my life, going back to when we went to high school together, I can tell you that he is the real deal. An honest, hard working, smart, sincere and astute business man. Who's record of public service and personal integrity are unmatched among any of the candidates from either party. Let's hope America wakes up and picks a great CEO to lead us out of the mess we're currently in.

This is a sad day in America. The country has two Manchurian Candidates on each side of the aisle. Mitt Romney is the one in the GOP.

JEEBEE   January 19th, 2008 2:25 pm ET

Of course, Romney did well in Nevada (besides the fact he was the only candidate focusing on it). He should do well everywhere – hell, he changes what he says so much, he's bound to appeal to you at some level.

Is he going to give the casino industry 20 billion dollars like he is going to give Michigan?

CONGRATULATIONS GOV. ROMNEY! WELL DONE!

Bob   January 19th, 2008 2:20 pm ET

Great Job Mitt! We Need You!!!

I am voting for MITT ROMNEY!!!!!

Mitt has not been in Washington for years like John McLaim, Clinton and Obama.

Mitt has held executive positions as a Govenor and in private business, Obama, Clinton and John McLaim have only worked in Washington they do not have a clue about private business or the American economy.

Mitt is a conservative that’s why the media hates him; John McLaim is a liberal just look who he associates with Kennedy, Feingold, the gang of 14, ect. and that’s why the media loves John McLaim.

Mitt is against amnesty for illegal aliens; Obama, Clinton and John McLaim are for amnesty for illegal aliens.

Mitt is for tax cuts, Obama, Clinton and John McLaim are against tax cuts and want to raise our taxes.

Mitt is for conservative judges, Obama, Clinton and John McLaim are for liberal judges.

Mitt wants to free Americans and American business from the federal government Obama, Clinton and John McLaim want big government and are responsible for big government we have.

Mitt will fight to protect this country and build a strong military; Obama, Clinton and John McLaim stood by when al-Qaeda attacked our interests in the 1990 and the 1980s.

Mitt Romney is the right change for America

Vote for Mitt!!!

@wolfblitzercnn: Redskins-Giants always exciting. Both teams have a lot to prove. And Giants can still salvage playoffs. Skins just need a win.
