Okay , ladies and gentlemen, lets face it . Bill Clinton is a good looking man who attracts women, regardless if he is the flirt or they throw thenselves at him and he doesn't know how to say no. I am sure there were presidents before him that had the same problems and were not expounded on . Hillary had the strength to put up with it and forgive his faults. If more women could do that , there might not be as many divorces as there are today. She fought to keep her family intact. Bringing up all that rhetoric about Bill doesn't do the country or the the campaign any good. I watched Campaign Killers on CNN, so I truly believe that our election system is being compromised. Let's not let it happen.

Edwards is and aways will be a "ambulance chaser".The only one he is interested in is himself made his million's off the unfortunant as most lawers tend to do by taking the largest part of settlements for himself.Only taking on cases He knew he could sway jury's with junk science. Now he clam's he want to fix our broken health care?He is running on ego.He is part of what has caused health care to be so costly. He has no leadership ability! Other than taking us even frather down the road to disaster I see nothing else he would acomplish.I am a independent and at this point I know of three that won't get my vote.I hope the American people arn't as foolish as they were with "slick Willy"!! From N.C. Robert

I have watched all three democratic debates in '08 and so far have gone from republican, admittedly mostly out of ignorance, to huge Edwards supporter. He has earned my vote and I have signed up on his website to join his campaign and spread the word about him. It is a shame that more people haven't given him a chance. He shows an amazing amount of passion and to me displays the most willingness to fight for not only change, but improvement for America as a whole!

John Edwards was amazing in the debate tonight (as usual) and is someone I would be proud to have as my president. Can't say the same for HRC and BHO. Dems, please keep in mind that he is the most electable Democrat in the race, and the only Dem who beats McCain. HRC is past her prime and BHO is not ready, but JRE is just right! Martin Luther King III wrote a wonderful letter to John Edwards today, asking him to stay in the race, and continue to fight for the poor and middle class. He said that his dad was a fighter like John and would be very proud of him. Made my Martin Luther King Day!

This is the current poll on CNN:
Have you listened to or watched any speeches or debates by the presidential candidates?
Speeches 4% 95
Debates 14% 381
Both 37% 988
Neither 45% 1175
Total Votes: 2639

It shows the largest percentage is neither listening to speeches or debates. Lets hope they are reading each of the potential candidate's plans for this country, rather than just listening to the media! This is not a popularity contest, nor is it a time to make "history" just for the sake of making history. This country is in serious trouble and we need a candidate who is intent on improving the lot of the people who need it most; the middle class and poor of this country. For me, that is John Edwards. His Plan for America makes sense, and I believe he has the determination and drive to carry his plans through. Please research the candidates, or listen to the debate tonight. Don't let the media make the choice for you.

It's headlines like this one, and the NYTimes piece today, that continue to sabotage the Edwards campaign. He is a perfectly viable candidate, with the experience Obama lacks and the priorities that Hilary has lost sight of. Yet when he gets less than 10% of the mass media coverage (i.e. free advertising) and Obama and Hilary each get 30% or more, of course real voters start to doubt his ability to gain the nomination.

It is time we should start reading with facts and believing what we read or see in airways. One of the smartest women in America running for president of the free world didn’t pass her Washington D.C bar exams…‘re you kidding me? Am I so dumb and stupid to believe what I see or read …or is it an irony ….hmmm…

Looking at the blogs, almost everyone is feeding into the media hype. Most of the blogging here is about Clinton and Obama, when the article above was about John Edwards. He is class personified. He doesn't make any lame excuse for the loss, doesn't even place blame, although rumors from some in Nevada say the casino owners told the rank and file, supposedly under threat of their jobs, not to vote for Edwards as he is too pro union. Be that as it may, John Edwards is the only one who will truly bring people together and work to provide equality to all Americans. Universal health care, jobs, ending the invasion and bringing home our troops, and restoring the US reputation with the rest of the world.

If Edwards thinks he took a butt whipping in Nevada, what will he say when loses South Carolina and ALL the states on Super Tuesday??? It's almost as if the DNC and Howard Dean are trying to keep him in the race in order to make the other 2 candidates seem like they're almost presidential! I mean even if a girl isn't that pretty, when you put a real ugly girl next to her, then she seems to be attractive...maybe not, but she's better than that real ugly one!!!

John...I am confused...is BILL running for president? No? Then why are you so pathetically obssessed with him and his past. Get over it and get a life. Hillary will the one running the show and can tap into Bills intelligence/experience/clverness for info at anytime. I dontthiink she'll start preying upon men in the Oval Office, so dont worry...she isnt Bill.

Again, we must keep our eyes on the prize! John is the only one who can handily defeat any of the top tier Reps now. Barack should out after SC and support John. That would a winning ticket in the primaries and certainly in the general election.

As the Democratic party moves forward to the White House, I encourage both candidates to be mindful of how they play the political game. Senator Obama wants to be President and in doing so must have the courage to take on whatever comes from whereever it comes and continue to look at the future and what he can do. He has very limited experience to draw from so he will have to rely on others to help guide him. Senator Clinton also want to be President and has demonstrated through her actions that she has the courage to take on whatever comes. She will need all of her fortitude and experience to tackle the "many" who cannot yet see a woman in office. She will need to draw from her experience to make change happen. Both will make us proud. As a woman, I vote for Hillary and cheer on Obama.

Clinton is a real carpet bagger.. using edwards to pull what she can away from obama..I think she wants edwards to stay in the race for her own greed.
say what ya may.. she is very shrewd and has the sales mentality of only a self taught southern woman selling carpet to northernr's. now she's peddeling votes of trust to southernr's using her reverse psycology .... kind of laughable

Want to hear some news:

The conservatives in the Democratic party--desire Ewards economic policy and agenda against powerful special interests--because they feel he will not be biased in favor of liberal special interest groups.

Something that Hillary and Obama have not alluded to--is they are only talking about the industry lobbyists--not the ones who traditionally lobby for liberal causes.

Without Edwards on the top of the ticket for the Democrats--they will be losing a whole lot of conservative democrats and thousands of independents in the national election. Those folks will probably vote GOP regardless of who the candidate is. LIke me.

If Edwards & especially Elizabeth had reframed from going negative a few months back I do believe he would have stood a chance, but he & Obama started the negative crap & now Clinton is doing it because all the negative was going toward her & she is responding & doing the same. BUT initially Hillary was above the negative stuff & I do feel she had to go negative towards Edwards & Obama or be sunk...I personally do not like it from anyone of the candiates BUT it helped me make up my mind on who to vote for in the SC primary since Edwards & Obama started it I am supporting Clinton for this reason & her experience. I also don't want Obama to be the nominee or president because if he is we are going to hear about race card every other week because the black leadership will not let the past rest.

I am still backing John Edwards, despite the "butt kicking" he received in Nevada. We have had 7 years of the republican dictator, his invasion into a foreign country that had not even threatened to attack us, the tremendous loss of jobs in this country, a downward spiraling economy. The Democratic party needs a candidate who can defeat the Republicans in every state of the union, so there can be no fudging of vote counts. This country needs a President who will fight for the majority of people (middle class & poor), not for the special interests and big corporations. If any one believes Obama or Clinton will unite this country, please think again. If anyone thinks Obama or Clinton will defeat the republican candidate in the general election, please think again. The media hype in this country is selecting our next candidate, with their slanted coverage. If the candidate coverage had been equal from the beginning, there would be more candidates in the running right now. Just listen to the news, any channel, and the only names you will hear the majority of the time are Clinton, Obama. I just heard a promo for the upcoming Black Caucus debate on CNN and those are the only two names mentioned. Please don't let the media decide our next candidate!

Edwards has too much talent to be tossed aside for Clinton or Obama. In fact, ALL of the Democrats have too much talent to be tossed aside. Clinton, Obama, Edwards, Richardson, and Biden are too good to send back to the Senate or to private life. We need them all in Washington in one important capacity or another. They could lead the departments of State (Biden), Labor (Edwards), Education (Obama), Chief of Staff (Clinton), VP (Richardson). McCain would be superb as Secretary of Defense. The nation is in desperate shape. We need all the talent we can get. It is time for a President who, like Lincoln, can incorporate his former opponents into his or her cabinet.

The Republican candidates - McCain excepted - are not worth the electricity it would take to vote for them. It is obvious that if any of them occupied the White House, we would be in for four more years about like the last four. Romney excepted, none of them are particularly brilliant, and Romney's brains do not compensate for the fact that he is a corporate man to his soul. Enriching the upper class would be the only goal of his presidency. None of them propose anything particularly new - just more of the same. More outsourcing, more borrowing from our enemies China and Saudi Arabia, more "free" trade to undercut our own industries (what's left of them), more trade with China, more gridlock, more deterioration of the national infrastructure, more tax cuts for the top 20%, more $35 tax cuts for you and me, more bills written by lobbiests, more corruption ... four more years.

Obama leaves Nevada screeeming The Clintons are picking on me. John left Nevada with his pride as Senator Clinton left Iowa with hers. She even called Obama and Congrats him. Obama calls Cryburn and cries. Bill Clinton is picking on me. Sound familar. Obama has cried everytime a little hot water comes his way. Then Cryburn -uncommitted he claims- goes on the defense for him scollding the Clintons. I am sorry but it was Clyburn who started the Issue about race now he is trying to say that Bill Clinton should not campaign for is wife because of his Presidential influnce. Jimmy Carter endorsed John Edwards. John Kerry endorsed Barack Obama and campaigns for him. Obama endorsed Kerry and campaign for him. Sounds like a very desparate Obama. John Edwards is a man for the respect that he has shown in the contest. Barack Obama is a sore loser.

Senator Clinton for President "SHE'S THE REAL THING"

Geneva.
Edwards not very likeable? According to who? You should take the time to research what he has actually done. Yes, the Patient Bill of Rights did not pass but that is because GWB vetoed it! He started the Center on Poverty in NC and will continue to do good deeds for the greater good, even of people like you refuse to give him any credit. Another reminder is that this is a primary and not a general election. There is no such thing as "taking away votes" from a particular candidate.

xtina, we do not live in the best country in the world anymore, thanks to the big corporations and their biggest lobbyists--the Chamber of Commerce. The UN and other studies now list countries in the Netherlands as the best place, because our companies have moved over there. One of the reasons they left the US was to get away from providing health insurance. In the Netherlands, the govn't provides national health care and that burden is removed from corporations. Also, the major aim of corporations, lobbyists and the govn't is to break labor unions and their collective bargaining. John Edwards believes in strong unions to protect blue collar rights.

Middle class workers are victims to the extent that the govn't favors laws which benefit corporations and not the workers, who, by the way, are responsible for making a company work. The fat CEO who sits on his duff and makes more money in one year than we make in our lifetime is not the one working hard. Nor is he inspiring; otherwise, our economy would be much better. Further, if he screws up the company, as is the case for Countrywide, and another corporation steps in, the CEO who is ousted receives MILLIONS in the buyout. FYI, the wealthy in some instances pay a SMALLER RATE of income taxes than we do. As for free enterprise, where did you get that "original" idea?? Hon, the government and major corporations control that "free" enterprise.

Yousuf in NY is correct about Obama; he will be very devisive. "African-american would go insane, and call it black power and I DONT want to see that." You can bet racial tensions will be at its highest since the '60s; and we have enough problems without that.

You people better wake up. We definitely do not need another Republican in office at this point, unless it's Ron Paul who has been neglected by the media. For some reason, many people dislike Hillary. Something is very odd about the way Obama came to the forefront and the way the media has pushed him--don't trust that. Edwards is wealthy, but he earned it and wants others to have a chance to EARN their future as well. So he spent a few hundred on a haircut; it was his money. That's certainly not as bad as the CEO who spent thousands on a shower curtain, money he did not earn and did not really belong to him.

For a stronger economy, better working conditions, future security, support Edwards and forget this nonsense about Obama.

If john Edwards had not attacked Obama so viciously, he would have done much better Saturday.

Obama will never get the LIBERAL WHITE VOTE but John Edwards could eventually get it when Obama drops out shortly because, contrary to the decent people of Iowa, White people in other places will vote for the white person.

LEAVE OBAMA ALONE, JOHN EDWARDS.

Lucy - the reason that she is treated with such venom is that she as a woman she dares to have an opinion - it is more a fact at how misogynistic this country is than anything else - I'm just glad that many women are seeing beyond that and voting for candidates on the real issues and not the press's tainted picture of Clinton.

Don't know where this will end up.

I hope more people will visit his website and sse his agenda.
Stuck in a popular history lesson--running against a woman and a black--has certainly not gained him superstar status.
His position on lobbyists in Washington--isn't hitting a very resonant tone with the DNC who have benefited, particularly in the 2008 contests, by donations from special interests, PAC's, and big dollar donors 3:1 over the Republicans. They fear, with good reason, if he is elected the money will dry up and ruin their chances of retaining the White House in 2012.

I'm sticking with John Edwards. I believe he needs to push his economic plans--and focus on the impact on creation and sustainment of small businesses in the next economic growth cycle--environmental/green products, services, and support.

I have a strong feeling that Edwards is now making his pitch for VP - it seems clear to me that a Clinton/Obama ticket or vice versa is not on the cards and that Edwards is the only one who can provide a balance to a Democratic ticket.

Edwards just isn't very likeable. It's obvious he rides the coats tails of others not being able to get the nomination. He says what people want to hear... except for that little debaucle where he went on and on about patients rights act, but neglected to point out that it didn't even pass. He won't win the nomination, but he'll continue to help Hillary by taking votes away from Obama. If Hillary is nominated I don't think she'll be choosing Edwards for VP.

If we as Americans want to elect a president and vp who are worthy of the position, then I feel that Obama and Romney should be the ticket. Hillary IS experienced in politics, but what has that got us? We need someone different! I am a Republican, but I feel the closest I can come to the person I can evision and who may think of THE citizens of the USA first, would be the above two names.

If I won at the lottery, I would like to to try to accomplish something revolutionary...to decrease greed and warfare.

HOW????

I would try to converse with those at MIT about my idea(s).

I would try to speak with the mayors of every city, and the govenors of every state. The Federal Government is incapable of doing what is right for the country and it's people!

Next I would take on the insurance and HMO companies.

If u want to make a profit, fine, but not at the cost of someone else's physical health!

And finally the most powerful group of sadists, the Weaponary Industry! These folks promote instability throughout the world!!!

The weapon Industry has never been held accountable for anything!

And finally as an after-thought, The penal institutions.
We need to have violent felons separated from everyone else, As too, we should have, drug dealers and those who assault others together. We have come to a point in our life-cycle where we must adjust to the populations. We must build more prisons in the areas where their is less availability for the popolation to build homes and businesses. This would create massive jobs. I can, if allowed make the cost of gasoline under $1.27 a gallon!!!

The EUROPEAN nations have spread their insiduious tenticles all through the cultures of all mankind!!!
Marco Polo and others have either assisted in the demise of that culture or it's Religious Philosophy!

The jihad of the world will be soon, relatively speaking. What did the president of Iran say in his 1st speech as president? Where and who are the alliances? The United States of America is widely despised, because The President of the US of A wanted to avenge his father, and Saddam called him a yellow coward over the air-waves!
Now 4,000+ dead, 29,000 wounded, and very little backup for them, 12 trillion in debt, borders and ports unsecure from almost anything, and finally, the middle class of the US is being taxed beyond their ME generation psych.

Obama/Edwards 08

Get behind Obama. If Edwards supports Obama this nomination process will become real easy and even easier turing a general. Obama and edwards can both compete in red states and pull republicans to vote for a obama/edwards ticket. A little populism never hurt conservatives in rural america.

John - I pray you go home and take care of your sick wife and raise your children. There are plenty of things to do that don't require being the President.

Good Luck - you are a nice man.

I would be happy to see Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama win but I don't think they can convince the red states. I'm not from the south. I'm from Canada.

Adam: I 'm not dumb, but if I were Obama, I would never join a Clinton ticket. Remember why GORE lost the presidency; well, it was because of Bill Clinton's "bad behaviors" as judged by the nation and the world. We may have short-term memories, but the world and the Republicans do not. By the time the Republicans are done with Hillary, Obama (as then VP) would have had no chance, just as Gore had no chance...... Obama, please say NO to any aspect of the Clinton ticket; it would be self-destructive!!!!!

If Edwards can just hang on, he'll start getting all those disillusioned Obama supporters soon...voters who won't pick Hillary as their 1st choice, but are starting to see thru the Obama mirage...voters who don't appreciate being pulled into a black/white divide in the Democratic Party...voters who hate everything that senile old coot Reagan stood for...Edwards may play out just the opposite on Feb 5th, pulling votes away from Obama and handing the nomination to Hillary. Thanks, John! There's hope for you yet...and probably a nice place in the cabinet, too! Mr Attorney General?

I think it's interesting that people think Edwards is "more electable" than Clinton or Obama, yet he can't even get a decent "win" or even close win in his own party. And don't be so sure all of his supporters would flock to Obama... as if they are sheep or lemmings. I suspect they have minds of their own and can decide for themselves who they want to support. Even if they did all flock to Obama's camp, Nevada proves that Clinton would have still pulled off the percentage points... by a hair, but a win is a win. (real results pending April). Edwards didn't even walk away with an estimated delegate.

Some of y'all are just as bad as the media. A bunch of talking heads that don't really know whats going to happen, making predictions based on spin and biased agendas, and then having to eat crow. Bunch of media puppets. Whooooops. People should do their own homework and quit looking to the biased media to spoon feed you your opinions.

Point is, it's still much too soon to know. I'm a Clinton supporter, but if she doesn't get the nom, I'll vote for the democratic party. Bottom line is, Obama won't bring about any more (political football word of the day) "CHANGE" than any other potential democratic nominee. Just look at his voting record. Hold it up to Clinton's (only counting the times he actually voted of course), he votes the same. He hasn't introduced any ground breaking legislation or grassroots movements that sets him apart from any of the other "Washington" folk. Has anyone asked him what he means by "change". You'd probably get a similar picture as Clinton and Edwards would present. So, to throw away your vote just because your "choice" didn't win is irresponsible and damaging to the democratic system. Especially with the mess the republicans have created during these last 7 years + one more to do as much more damage as they can. I suspect that the "defectors if Obama doesn't get the nod" are actually republican plants, or independents that lean toward the republican vote already, and are content with the way things are right now.

Unfortunately for Edwards, he's eating crow about now. He spoke much too soon about Clinton being knocked out of the race re: Iowa, making it a "two man race." Semi-Stealth Sexism much? Actually it's rather overt. Outright sexism is still "openly" accepted in our world.

Electing Clinton, the act in itself would be remarkable "change" in our country, as would electing Obama. That's really the only ground breaking change we will see.

Clinton '08. (and I would even say that Clinton/Obama '08 would be much more powerful than Obama/Edwards... Just look at the numbers. Clinton and Obama are neck-n-neck. Eddie is eating their dust).
