Could be 80 when he gets out of office?
He is too old but basically he wants to stay in Iraq 50 years!
He is too slow to respond, has to read acceptance speech.

Huckabee doesn't believe in evolution. Really, that should be the end of any conversation about him and presidency. Solving today's problems requires acting on the FACTS, not denying them. What's next, his VP believes the world is flat?

Does no one remember Ronald Reagan, he turned 70 one month after he took the oath of office, he served 2 terms and died 15 years after he left office. John McCain is not too old, he is in great health, look at his 95 yr old mother, she looks to be in terrific shape. Wisdom and experience comes with age and in my opinion Mr.McCain has both.

Much as I oppose a McCain presidency, a firm grasp on reality requires me to point out that McCain would only be a couple of years older than Reagan when and if he takes office. Reagan was less than three weeks shy of 70 when he was sworn in. McCain would be 72.

Everyone here contemplating age discrimination should remember that Gandhi was even older when her helped liberate India, and Plato was still teaching Socratic method at an even older age. I'm not for or against McCain, but are you really against him because of age, or are you like the rest of the democrats with a hidden adgenda? Let him determine if he's too old for the position, let us judge whether we agree with his platform.

McCain is no friend "my friends" to real republicans. The media want s him to be the nominee because it would guarantee a victory for the Dems. That's why they have give Huckabee free press. That's all you hear McCain/Huckabee. I've talked to alot of republicans that will not i vote if McCain or Huckabee are the nominees. Republicans need to stand up to the media and vote against McCain (an insider) and Huckabee (Mr. one-liner).

Chuck Norris should take a good look in the mirror. He's looking pretty old himself and doesn't have the class or good looks John McCain has. Pretty tacky jab Chuck.

Yes, I am purposefully using Chuck Norris movie titles, within quotes, integrated into this opinion:

Norris should follow the 'Code of Silence' rather than trying to be 'The Presidents Man'. I don't hear the 'Bells of Innocence' ringing. I only see the 'Silent Rage' of Norris materializing in the form of a pair of 'Sikekicks' trying to prove that Huckabee and him can be 'The Wrecking Crew' to change Washington and become 'Top Dog' of the goverment. All in the name of tossing out the Constitution, threatening the nation that it is 'Hellbound', scaring people into voting for 'The Contender'… whom is conveniently named Huckabee.

We aren't playing 'Dodgeball' here, we are talking about the leader of our nation. A leader to fix the mess which the GOP has created. Individuals are quick to forget and rush to vote in another fundamentalist (religious and political). This is 'Invasion U.S.A'. Our Democracy's very independence is at stake. Don't go 'Lone Wolf McQuade' on our country.. It is a time for unity, not for separation.

Any individual looking for 'Forced Vengeance' need not apply. Warmongers/profiteers go home.

Now only if these divinely inspired politicians would go 'Missing in Action'. Then we just might be in a happier place.

Can we say "Just for men"? Obviously, Chuck and Huck are using it. How about "Flaming Flamingo color" just for men, for McCain? Or "Saddam Black color". Make him look 10 years younger...

Another thing . . . Chuck says he didn't want to support John McCain because his age made him subject to an early death. That's why he's supporting Huckabee. Hmmmmm! Why isn't he just as concerned over that fact that Huckabee for many years wore twinkie-pounds? Wouldn't that accelerate his life by about a 3:1 ratio?

Huck says, "I want to run a clean, positive campaign. " NOT!! .........
Has anyone seen a picture of Huck without Chuck? Usually, in these photos Chuck is behind Huck. But yesterday Huck put Chuck in front . . .kind of like a human shield and let Chuck fire away at John McCain's age. Will this attack ever come back to bite Huck? No! It won't because Huck can also hide behind his "Christain" shield. Reminds me of the time he created a negative ad against
Romney, but decided not to show it. And to prove he had the ad . . .he wanted to show it to the REPORTERS. Well, duh!!!!!! So much for running a clean, positive campaign. (Still the ad was run on several networks). If he ever became president, we know how he would never be found guilty of doing anything wrong.

So how about we Chuck "Huck" and Huck "Chuck"?

Whatever, that sounds like ageism to me. You go McCain, you look younger and more manly than Mr. Norris any day. I can't believe that such a "positive" man like Norris would espouse such downtrodden, negative & uninspired comments.

Do you suppose Huckabee may have alienated some of the older population by suggesting that the 71-year old candidate is at the end of the line and has nothing to offer the presidency?

I hope so.

Chuck Norris has been showing his un-American side all over the TV networks!!!

Seems to me I saw Chuck Norris endorsing a Japanese Honda truck all over the tube this week. If he's so pro American, why isn't he endorsing American made vehicles?

A candidate for US president should do everything possible in being pro-American, including ensuring all staff, and public endorsers stress a pro-American agenda.. If Huck's staff couldn't vet Norris when his un-American commercials are everywhere, can they be trusted for much else?

As a loan officer, if I said that a potential borrower was "to old" to repay the loan, I would be fired for age discrimination. What a terrible statement to make. Chuck sets a poor example for his age group and anyone else for that matter. I think if he were anything but a "D" list actor it would have made bigger headlines.

This network is giving Huckabee a free ride because they want the weakest GOP candidate if their choice (Hillary) is to prevail. He's the oncy one who would have negatives enough to match Clinton Redux

I find Chuck Norris's comment about age, ludicrous. I am almost 74 years old, work full time about 60 hrs per week. It's true my muscles are a little stiff but my mind is still going 90 mph. John Mc Cain is the only candidate that has truly sacrificed for this country. The other candidates have only take from it. He has stayed true to his concience and often at the exasperation of the Repubican Party leaders. He has proven that he can reach across the aisle and cooperate with the Democrats. I am not Catholic but I notice that many men elected to the position of Pope are well up into their years and serve longer than the maximum 8 years that a President can serve. I do not agree 100% with John Mc Cain, but I feel that I can trust him to do what is best for our nation as a whole, starting with national security and humans rights for all, americans.

All the Republicans candidates, except Ron Paul (the oldest, in years) are not "too old" . . . but too dumb and untruthful and incompetent for the presidency. Comments from action-movie celebrities are beyond irrelevant.

And a nearly 70 year old c movie actor is qualified to tell us how to vote. A self avowed neo-con God freak? And did he not state that THE REASON he supported the Huckster was McCain's AGE? I didn't see any valid points made besides AGE!!!!!

Um, Chuck... ever hear of a guy named RONALD REAGAN? He was either in his 70's or 70 years of age when he was elected THE FIRST TIME! And he served TWO (count 'em!) TWO FULL TERMS!

I haven't decided who I'm going to support yet, but I do know it's not going to be Huckabee. Yeah, he's a good ole southern boy from Arkansas, but do we really need another former Ark. Governor in the White House? He needs to surround himself with people who aren't going to trash talk the competition. That's what I"ve always hated about elections in the US (and I'm FROM the US)... the cheap shots and dirty campaigns. I don't want another election like the last two (00 and 04) where we're stuck voting for the lesser of two evils. Just once in my adult life, I'd like to vote for someone who will actually do all that he (or she) says they're going to do.

So sit back down there, Carlos Ray, and keep yer trap shut!

It's hard to believe the comments in this thread about candidate's age(s), etc. How about a discussion of what any of these individuals actually stand-for??? That is...if you can actually figure it out. Folks have been watching too much of that critically insightful television coverage. Gawd help us all.

When Chuck Norris says that McCain might not survive four years in the White House, he's not talking about his age.

Dang! I wish I'd thought of that while the story was still fresh.

Norris has been behaving like a fool -like his mentor Governor Fried Squirrel. But..he does have a point.
McCain has had two bouts of malignant melanoma and that is something that must be addressed. McCain should release his medical records and allow his doctor to answer questions. His age and his very serious cancer history are factors that cannot be overlooked.

The only reason Huckabee was able to revitalize his campaign is because of Chuck Norris. And the only reason people started making Chuck Norris jokes was because Conan O'Brien started using the Walker Texas Ranger Lever a couple years back. (Even if the "Chuck Norris' Facts" are more well-known now, it was Conan who initially made it cool to make Chuck Norris jokes.)

Anyways, my point is just that Norris is insignificant, as is Huckabee. Doesn't matter what they have to say about McCain.

Why isn't Huckabee's wife making any speeches in support of her husband? All I see of her is standing behind Huck in some God-Awful outfit with no change in expression. This might be our First Lady? Perish the thought.
I have also been concerned about McCain's selection for VP if he gets the nomination. I have heard both Lieberman or Huckabee. Both would be a disaster for America - given McCain's age and health.

Does ANYone actually care what Chuck Norris thinks? Good grief, give me a break. The fact that this b-movie, phony kung fu, worst actor in the history of bad acting, Texas Ranger is considered to be an expert in political endorsements is not laughable... it's frightening. It's not surprising to me that the majority of Americans are completely disenchanted by the elections. It's a complete circus act. Huckabee is wearing the top hat. Norris is the bearded woman. Mitt Romney is the clown spraying water through his lapel flower. Meanwhile, the poor beaten Elephants dance in the background. This is America, ladies and gentlemen. Step right up and get your tickets.

Definately not too old for the White House (i.e. Reagan), but he definately shouldn't be in the White House. All we need in the White House is a man who comes from a family of war junkies. I can admit being biased by basing this off his history, but he is not what this country needs.

How can anyone say that Huckabee is for the middle class? He's probably the worst for voting on raising taxes. Look it up, it's not that hard. I also like his approach on Iraq. "We broke it and now we've got to fix it." Sorry, but a catchy phrase isn't going to solve sh!t.

"B, Reagan signed into law an amnesty bill as well as 8 straight deficits. "

I just love how you people re-write history. Look it up. Reagan didn't sign in any deficit. He left Bill Clinton the largest US surplus ever - which Clinton continues to this day to get credit for. And as far as Amnesty - that's the Clintons. Look it up. They signed in NAFTA, expanded H1 and L-1 to allow millions more foreign visa workers, and opened the border.

Put the blame where it belongs, and give the credit where it is due. Stop re-writing history to suit your political agenda.

Huck is a nice guy, Romney is a pretentious pretty face...with some decnt ideas. guilani doesn't have a prayer, McCain is a joke.

The other side...according to history, probably not a black man, or a white woman..would win, much less a catholic, or mormon.

As far as experience...none have much. Clinton' experience is as an onlooker.
Obama is too young and inexperienced...and there is so much prejudice out there...mainly amongst the right, so even if some reps would crossover, it wouldn't be for a black person or a woman...much less Bill's wife.

Put aside everything, and I think in this time and age, Obama would be the best choice.

He hasn't been in the game long enough to have too many fingers in his pocket.
He is young with young, fresh ideas.
He actually can speak our country' s language...ie not GWB speaking.
He is intelligent.
The mideastern peeps in charge would actually try negotians with him (Hillary is a woman ...2nd class citizen over there and not even respectable to muslims).

But, His first name is Obama( and ignorant peeps would say he sounds like another nutcase muslim)...and his middle name is Hussien, so more ignorant peeps would say(Hussien...they're all alike).

He has a slim chance, but the ignorance in this country is rampant, and if he was by odd chance elected pres, I could almost bet he would be assasinated by one of own ignorant militant groups and we'd be stuck with a blue eyed southern boy who would give us more of the same bs rhtoric.

Thanks for letting me vent

Immigrants:

You make many solid points.

So of course they have no answers. I believe we absolutely need a solid border/guest worker policy so that the work can be done honestly and ethically and our nation's laws are respected.

That being said, yes, we could not affod to kick out the illegals.

They pick the food and work at the slaughterhouses that provide food for all of us.

Your dinner did not get there by magic, people.

Age discrimination should NOT be tolerated in America anymore than sexism or racism are.

Anyone that practices any of these character flaws is a throw-back. The issue with McCain should be his politics and nothing else. And the problem with Chuck Norris is that he is a boob and an arse.

I'm a Democrat so I'm not supporting any of the Republican candidates, but I'd much rather have McCain running the country over somone who obviously doesn't remember separation of church and state like Huckabee.
