Karl Rove would be proud of anyone following in his footsteps on how to win an election through misrepresentation of the opponent's statements and the mistruths flung out by surrogates to tear down someone's character. I thought that the Unites States was ready for a change but from the dirty tricks and personal attacks, I guess not. I guess the means justify the ends as long as you win. If this keeps up, our democratic party will be split down the middle with very hard feelings on both sides. As a democrat, it will make it very hard for me to vote for someone who is willing to follow Rove's playbook and further partisan divide. I have had enough of that for the last eight years. Enough is enough.

If the candidate is into personal attacks and misrepresentations of his opponent then that tells me the cadidate does not seem to have enough strength and belief in his own issues in which they can converse to get them elected.

I don't believe Bill Clinton should be campaigning for his wife. That should be left up to the daughter to do. Bill Clinton is a former President of United States, an office that demands respect and an image of a former president should be above the fray unitl a final democratic nominee is picked. His support should be the democratic party and not for an individual. What democratic opponent really wants to attack a former President of the United States, a former leader of their party? This same former leader is now putting himself into a position where he can divide his party into splinters that may be hard to put back together again when the democatic convention rolls around and nominee is picked. Are we then just suppost to forget all the bad politicing that went on before. I know I won't be able to.

Let each candidate stand on his own and honestly and truthfully debate the issues that really matter to us. We are electing one individual to help lead this country out of the partisan mess it is in now. One individual who then must decide on one vice president to help him. There is no such thing as co-presidency. I want to vote for a President of the United States and a Vice President of the United States who has run an honest and truthful candidacy on their own strengths of truth and honesty on the issues and what they can do to help us. And if I can believe in their integrity, honesty, and good character, then the world might follow suit and believe in America once again.

History is changing. The Clintons thought they had the election in the bag. They never thought of Obama being an actually competitor and underestimated him. Now, all these attacks are flying all over the place to discredit him. I am surprised about the horrible attacks. I thought we as Democratics were above these tactics. Democrats please really examine these issues before voting. We do not need chaos in the White House for another 8 years.

all the posts here look quite promising. I don't quite understand what happens when it comes down to the polls. NH was quite surprising. There is a woman who cried her eyes, and she gets a sympathy vote, because of a political machine behind her? We have members of a Union who go against the Union leader's endorsement because Bill Clinton shook their hands? It's one thing to play dirty politics, but citizens should be above the negative campaining and look at the merits of an incorruptible politician in our times, Mr. Obama. I hope SC doesn't disappoint with the apparent short sightedness that has been displayed in the recent past, w.r.t. "experience" that Hillary Clinton has. Just as an fyi, her "experience" started only when she was elected Senator.

WHY is this still news??? They did it here in Iowa too. They cheated in the caucuses, she did push-polling, they sent out mailer after mailer full of LIES. I started out this process supporting her, until I woke up and started LEARNING the TRUTH!!! Seems some will never learn. CNN itself only started seeing the truth a couple of days ago, and I think it's short-lived. Clintons are the ones with the millions and now all they need is MORE POWER!!! They'll clearly take it any old way they can!!!

As a life long democrat I am looking more closely at John McCain in the unfortunate event that Hillary is the nominee. A month ago I would have said that I would support whomever the nominee was but not after the Karl Rove style politics that the Clintons have demonstrated. I cannot support the continuation of this nastiness and lies. I am very sad that in a time when democrats could be coming together to win the white house the Clintons have torn the party apart in pursuit of their own political aspirations. I hope that most democrats are as tired as I am of this and will not vote for Hillary in the primary.

After watching the debate last night, or shall I say "The Obama Show". It's absolutely amazing how mucvh the race card has been played by Obama. The first question that was asked wasd about the economy. Hillary, who went first answered it. Obama, next, started off his extensive monologue evoking MLK. You mean he played the race card in front of a mostly black audience?
Also, I don;t know if anyone else noticed. CNN loves Obama. When Hillary or Jogn Edwards were speaking they were cut off within 30 seconds of speaking, but Obama was allowed, I timed it, to speak as long as 5-7 minutes on his issues.
Granted thye debate was sponsored by the Black South Carolina Caucases. So, of course, it was only fair that Obama get as much face time as possible.
Shame on you CNN. Fairness in obviously not in your vocabulary.
I can not wait until after Super tuesday to see who the democratic nominee will be.
Just remember, whomever we select has to run in all 50 states, not just South Carolina.

I am so sick of hearing people talk about experience. Does Hillary have the experience to be president? I think so, but where does she get off talking about SUPERIOR experience? She has 7 years in the senate to Obama's 11 and Edwards' 6, and when you count in their other political activities it all pretty much equals out. I wish people would stop talking about experience. It's a non-issue because none of the candidates really has any more than the others, and they are all qualified to do the job. Just because no one had heard of Obama before this race, that doesn't mean he didn't exist. He's been at this a long time. Hillary needs to stop claiming superiority in this department because being first lady for 8 years do not count as political experience. She was sent overseas as an ambassador, not a negotiator, she was never given security clearance, she never sat in on meetings, she was never given a copy of Bill's daily intelligence briefings. Being married to a president doesn't make you any more qualified to BE president than, say, someone who's been in the senate LONGER than YOU, and therefore probably less so. That doesn't mean she's not qualified for the job, because she certainly is, if you want to talk about experience. I just want to point out that it's incredibly misleading for her to claim she has MORE experience than the other candidates, when it simply is not true. As for the other Obama supporters out there, keep trucking, but please stop saying Obama is inexperienced. I'm afraid the Clinton campaign is doing it's job well if you think that, but take some comfort in knowing your candidate is not only well-qualified, but also quite experienced. Don't believe the lies and the spins!! Trust the facts!!

I was turned off by the bickering between Obama and Clinton. However, i am proud of Obama for standing up to the Clinton machine for once.
Obama started the campain with intergrity and respect. However the Clintons' panicked when he won Iowa and decided to do whatever they could to derail his chances. Hence, he has to defend himself as well as call her out on the holes in her record.
I wish they didn't resort to cheap jabs, but for last night it was VERY neccessary for Obama to answer back to all the manipulative accusations the Clintons' have been shamelessly spreading since he won Iowa.
I am proud of Edwards conduct – but lets be honest – he is just to boring..

Hillary represents her own self interest anything she can say to win the vote she will.

Education is a great indication of income....hence Obama tends to get the vote from the educated people who actually follow follow and understand what the issues are, where as Hillary convinces the uninformed.

This is exactly the opposite Hillary comes from the privileged Obama does not, Obamas entire career has been based around working for the poor and people without a voice. Hillary did Corporate law for some of the largest corporations in the world.

Both candidates have a plan both are actually remarkably similar the only real difference would be the required pay for health care that Hillary purposes vs. the non required but more for the people who don't have health care and can't afford it that Barack supports.

Feel free to follow whoever you choose but just don't do it blindly, do some research for yourself....

What Barack was trying to say is perfectly clear, and the sheer level of shamelessness to which they've sunk in in this race staggers me. I used to love Bill, but now I have no respect for him left. Greetings to everyone! I'm a Hispanic independent voter. As independent I try hard to make the right decision when time to vote. In my opinion, the best two candidates for the Democrats is by far Obama and Edwards. These two seem very sincere in change, they just have little differences in their policies. Since Edwards seems to be coming in third nationally, I hope he drops and supports Obama and run for VP. I think both of them will do great things for this country. Its obvious that the Clinton's work as a team so why wasn't health care fixed in the 8 years when Bill was President? Why is Hillary getting founds from the insurance companies? Action speaks louder than words so no matter what she says she voted for war with Iraq and Obama didn't. That leaves me to think, she can easily be manipulated or she goes with the hype. Obama doesn't. My vote is for Obama! I hope to see Obama/Edwards for 08. Then we will see change and with that comes hope.

Barak Obama and his campaign staff are getting desperate after 2 straight defeats to Hillary Clinton. From the beginning of his campaign he's done nothing but attack Hillary Clinton and NOT John Edwards to try and get rid of her because she's been the front runner for a very long time. And primarily on past voting in the Senate. But what do people know about his voting past. Not much. Hillary Clinton exposed some of his voting patterns last night in the debate when she talked about his many undecisive votes in the Illinois legislature. Furthermore, what's wrong with working for Walmart? Would Obama refuse to work for a large company if he were asked? I doubt it! Hillary Clinton has been talking about her efforts to improve health care, the economy and getting our troups out of Irak very soon among other topics that concern all Americans. In December Hillary Clinton was not spending her time attacking Obama or the other candidates. Barak Obama built his campaign on attacks in December. And it has become much worse in January. Now Hillary Clinton has no choice but to respond to Obama's attacks to defend herself as anyone would. It's clear that Barak Obama has, from the beginning, consistently used negative campaigning tactics. He hopes that Americans will see him as a white knight in shining armour but you would have to be naive to believe that!

Of the three in last night's debate, Edwards appeared to be the most "presidential" -- calm and collected. Since just before Nevada's caucuses, Obama & Clinton have been "playing dirty" with their ad campaigns, and now there's this nasty "push-polling" in S.C. (Sheesh!) ...Edwards stands out as the mature grown up alongside two arguing teenagers. In last night's debate Edwards was strong when he needed to be, but he never lost his cool like the other two did. Edwards ideas for healthcare, the economy, the war, etc., sounded the clearest, and best thought-out. I just feel that Edwards has the most integrity and insight (vision) of all the candidates. I also believe that EDWARDS is THE ONE that can best take on McCain across the U.S. (or Romney, if things should go that weird way.)

It has been well documented that both Barach Obama and Hillary are gifted scholars and articulate individuals, so no need to debate their educational backgrounds.

Hillary Clinton's record is longer in years and has shown consistent passion and support for family and children's issues. She had an international best seller as an author ("It Takes A Village") the proceeds of which (over a million dollars) were donated to children's causes across America.

Hillary Clinton has been an effective voice in the Senate and re-elected for a second term with a 67% majority. You may not agree with her but she always makes her position known.

As far as the Clinton years in the White House, America was left in a great position economically and Hillary Clinton gained worldwide respect , traveling around the globe on behalf of women and children's rights. Her advocacy for health benefits for EVERYONE began many years ago, well before it became a popular issue with the other candidates.

All the Democratic candidates are qualified but Hillary Clinton has the most experience and proven record. Elect her and you will see how much a woman can do to bring this country back to prosperity and respect in the world community.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the questions Hillary asked last night about Obama's record, obviously the media does'nt seemed concerned, seems like there should be someone who has got the !!!!! to ask these questions. If Hillary would have just stood there and not given a response-the news reporters would have said she not standing her ground, but then when she does they have not so positive comments. If Hillary's anything like some of the women I know she not about to let these men or any man for that matter walk all over her, so what her husband Bill is campaigning for her, would you expect him to do anything else. During the course of my graduate study, we did in-depth studies of the dramatic results of the Reagan-Thatcher regimes. Sen Obama was simply highlighting the fact that it was a considerably divergent and novel path.

It is rather unfortunate that Bill would manipulate the nature of what was said to utilize it as a divisive tool.

The fact that Sen Obama is able to offer fair analyses of aspects of our political history speaks volume.

I see everyone is rushing to the hate Hillary comments again without even knowing the veracity of the calls. This is South Carolina remember and all the robocalls that republicans put out on behalf of Huckabee. If SC has as dirty politics as has been reported, then might we assume as a good as blame Hillary, that some republicans aren't funding this knowing that the blame would be flung immediately at Hillary. I honestly can't see the Clinton campaign stooping to this level of robocalls when people have been able to trace other robocalls to the company doing them or who has been paying. The Clintons may be shrewd campaigners but they are not stupid ones.

IF McCain wins the rep. nomination, he will be able to attrack independents, and maybe some democrates.

So let see who will be the best democratic candidate to beat McCain.

1. Hillary does not attrack independents and republicans.

2. John Edwards, well I donot know which block he is attacking.

3. Barack Obama, attracks independents, republicans

Democate can only beat the republicans by attracking independents

If Edwards doesn't get the nomination I will vote Republican (Ron Paul), probably a wasted vote. Unfortunately I think the U.S. and the world are both tired of having a white male president screw things up. It's not popular to be a white male anymore.
