You people are sick and really don't have much to do. To the person who left the comment about we should have a nice President, as of today, we don't even have a smart President! Let's not forget about the President who had sexual relations with an intern! What's the character in that compared to Barack? For all of Hillary's supporters, do you really think she cares about the " may have been a snub". Speaking of growing up, how immature is it to leave comments based on a picture that says nothing.

Funny how this photo makes news but no one notes when Barack pulls out Clinton's chair prior to the debate. America, America.

I am a 53 year old Hispanic woman and a Clinton supporter, but I had been thinking that I really needed to tune into what Obama had to say and make my judgement fairly. But on Tuesday when I saw Obama turn away when Hillary came over to shake hands which I took as a show of unity for the Democrates. This made me realize that he is splitting the Democrates. To me this was important to show that they are united as a political party but he showed that he is willing to show disunity.
HIS ADVISORS ADVISED HIM WRONG. He knew what he was doing.
Because of his show of disunity I will not be taking another look at him as president.

This is the most ridiculous thing yet. Grow up people. This isn't a reality show. This isn't President IDOL. The media is playing you like a fiddle. Anyone who has EVER used a camera can tell you that a moment frozen in time can be interpreted in a plethora of ways depending on the angle of the shot. Come on you guys. Get serious and stop injecting gossip and things that have nothing to do with the ISSUES into the campaign. We're talking about presidential campaigns not the next Britney Spears breakdown. Separate your tabloid fix from electing our next president please. Don't take something idiotic and use that as your excuse for voting for or against someone because you're too lazy to really give your time and energy to studying the issues. You're acting like high schoolers who really want to not like the new girl but don't have a reason so they use something insignificant. "Did you see what she was wearing today!?!? I knew there was a reason why I didn't like her!!" You're just using this to exercise your personal prejudices whatever the true nature of that is. There are people paid to inject this type of stupidity into the process because basically they think that public is one step above retarded. There are people on this site right now leaving comments that they don't even believe because they're trying to use this as a way of swaying your opinion one way or another. If you allow THIS to influence your vote you are pathetically gullible and displaying the same intelligence as a dog being tossed a bone in order to keep him from barking at you.

J. McKinney SW MO writes:
LL says: "As was stated previously, Hillary was leaning forward to say something to Sen Kennedy. She wasn't speaking to Barack. Regardless, does this really matter in the scheme of things? Let's look at their individual records or what they believe in. That's what is important to make sure we make the best choice for the next president."

Yes, it DOES matter in the scheme of things — let's do look at their records. And when we do, we already know that Clinton has more experience, and that she actually has posted her plan to pay for everything She has suggested. Obama just talks the talk–he doesn't walk the walk. He can't tell you how he will accomplish any of his "hopes and dreams and choices". Add to that the fact that he is ON VIDEO where it is obvious he is snubbing Clinton, and we see that in addition to being too inexperienced, he is also sullen and pouty. Something we sure don't need in a president. He needs to be capable of handling himself in awkward situations with other world leaders whom he also may not like. We need Clinton!

JW: You weren't there. You were watching a video. You do not know specifically what happened moment by moment. You do not know what happened before or after the speech. Also, have you read every single article written by or about Obama? Believe what you want because I really don't care. The point of what I wrote earlier is that there is this much interest over a handshake when there are many more important world issues going on in the world. Vote for whatever candidate you feel would best represent the country. Do you personally know Obama? How do you know how he handles himself in any situation except this one random moment? Were you this hard on Hillary when she cried over losing a primary election? People are people. We are all human beings. Again, vote for whoever you believe would be the best candidate. I personally like them both and think they would be an amazing powerhouse if they could work together. However, I think there is too much negativity coming out in this campaign that can divide people over minute and inconsequential things rather than focusing on the bigger and much more important issues. I have no intention of getting into an argument with some stranger on the internet and someone whose opinion is not going to affect mine. I am merely trying to get people to focus on more important issues. Thank you for allowing me to express my opinion and have a wonderful day!

Who cares how people perceived a situation. I do not have the time to acknowledge every single people everyday. That others do, is simply surprising to me.

People get so crazy when someone does not speak to them. what is that all about?

If one feels that bad about someone not acknowledging them, then stay home, never leave the house. Then your feeling will not be hurt.

Grow up-grown-ups!

Let's take a realistic view here... this isn't even news-worthy. Obama said it wasn't a snub, Hillary says she doesn't consider it one. Regardless of what it was, we should have the same decency the candidates have to put it behind them, and discuss things that actually matter.

It's a sad commentary on the state of society when people choose their vote over something like this, rather than stances on real issues, ability to lead, willingness to work with both parties to get things done.

Shame on the news agencies for making an issue out of something that shouldn't be, and shame on all the citizens of this country that care about something so unimportant relative to actual issues.

So we're going to decide who the president is over what might happen on an episode of "The Real World"? My party should be ashamed of ourselves over how we've fawned over these two cowards while John Edwards tried to talk about ISSUES and was ignored.

We must rally around Obama. He is the only one who can sit with our Muslim brothers and make peace. We need to learn from Barak, he did not snub Mrs Clinton, but it is against his religion to touch her. This does not mean she is un-pure, but she is a woman. We must support him now and allow him to educate us.

Speaking of crybaby. I read on CNN and not seen any response, that James Carvelle and Beldela, whom support Hillary were taken off CNN until after the primary's are over because they both support Hilary Clinton. The Obama campaign complained to CNN about it and got them taken off. Ever wonder why now only anti Hillary panels are set up on the newscasts who continue to bash and re hash their gripes against the Clintons. And now the threat of Oprah coming to Crybaby's aide in California once more. God help us. What kind of favors is this man going to owe everybody if he gets the nomination. Big daddy Teddy and Kerry giving their fatherly advise will be worse than Karl Rove and Dick Cheney running the White House. Obama already said he won't be the CEO and will leave it to others.

What does this have to do with the state of politics for this nation? Seriously. Who cares if he snubbed her -- what matters is what he's going to do in the office not what he does at social functions with his peers.

If another presidential canidate did this -- no one would have paid attention. It's because Obama and Clinton are the front runners in this current election that people are turning every little thing in to front page news. It's really really sad.

It's getting to the point that it looks like I'm watching a poorly written reality TV show.

I just love how the repulbicans are posting comments on here pretending to be democrats who will now vote Republican due to the issues Hillary and Obama have. Do you honestly think that people are stupid? Oh wait... Most republicans do. Look at our current President. I think our Country has had enough of the Republicans and more then enough of the Bush Administration. I'm sure most of us can agree on that.

Hillary all the way...

Ted kennedy the women of the nation have back you for a long time and you just slaped them in the face. Hillary you have the gut to face negitivity in the face. Thats the kind of president i want.

did anyone see last night when they interviewed Hillary after Florida win and asked her if he did in fact snub her? Being the lady she is she just said "I extended my hand and it will still be extended at the Debate Thursday", "it's etiquette, but in the end this is not the issue that people want to hear".  This leads me to say he did snub her because if he didn't, then why wouldn't Hillary just say No, he didn't; his back was turned when I got there, absolutely not!! I extend my hand to Hillary, she quite a lady and a statesman or stateswoman. Oh did anyone just see, Edwards is dropping out and he says he's not endorsing anyone that this time; what a traitor, they all said they would support the nominee but he is too cowardly to make a choice right now and wants to see who makes it through Super Tuesday; Hillary fans, lets show em;

I'd hate to think we could have a President who would behave this way. Imagine the damage if he'd treated the leader of another nation in the same manner, say at a G8 meeting.

He can talk about being an outsider and changing Washington all he wants -- good points, yes. But this behavior smacks of immaturity, and we DON'T need that. We need someone who can work with people whose opinions differ from his/hers and the first step toward that kind of relationship is common courtesy.

Who cares? We are all human. I like Bill and Hillary, but Hillary deserved the snub. It's like fighting with your sister or brother, you always make up afterwards. Hillary and Bill made a mistake when they unjustly attacked Barack and if Barack snubbed Hillary, then he made a mistake. Keep our eyes on the big picture and make your decision about these two people on something bigger than a questionable snub.

Don't make the same mistake we've made before. Don't vote for someone because you like their Father or Husband and don't use a questionable, insignificant, human moment to hate.

CNN: For the love of the nation, will you please focus on the issues in this presidential race instead of this mindless fodder!!!! If we must talk about this foolishness, lets focus on all aspects. For example, over the past few weeks, Hillary Clinton, her husband, and her "famous" supporters have told lies about Sen. Obama's stance on the issues and have slung mud his way. No one in your news room is racing to get voter reactions on that. Well, here is a quote for you on that, "Hillary Clinton, through her actions, has proven herself to be the same untrustworthy, deplorable, and venomous politician that needs to be removed from the leadership of this nation."

Give us REAL news, please. Stop with this divisive crap.

Voters: I challenge you to look past the garbage that you see on this website, on your televisions, and in your newspapers that is nothing more than gossip in the guise of political reporting. We all need to be focused on doing what is best for our nation, and that does NOT include a stupid debate over who snubbed whom!

......... 'out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh'.

how do you expect obama to react after all those NEGATIVE propaganda during the campaign (after all he is human). to be fair to him how many of us would not react the same way.

finally i wish to reiterate that cnn should stick to issues because america and for that matter the whole world is bigger than clinton, obama and a 'SNUB'

You are all ridiculous. This bickering over 3 minutes of social interaction is excellent evidence of how easily manipulated the public is; are you really judging a presidential candidate based an issue created by a news producer who couldn't find anything else interesting happening in the room at the time? GROW UP, stop feeding into this trivial garbage and letting news stations guide your judgment.

Well, when it's all said and done and whether it was done consciously or not, there is no question that as a presidential candidate involved in a very heated race you are very cognizant of where you are and where the candidate you are running against is at any given moment.

Many have questioned in previous posts why this would be so significant if it were true that Sen. Obama actually turned his back as she approached, thus turning away from his opponent.

Someone even previously posted. without giving the statement much forethought:

[ You want to shake hands with someone that has been talking about you for the past month and a half.]

Well, YES you do want to shake hands with your adversary!

If you can not be a person having character and demonstrate that you are a statesman, then how are you ever going to expect to lead the most powerful country in the world and face the leaders of other countries where we do not agree with their policies or position?

That very not-so-subtle "snub" as people are referring to it as, speaks volumes on the true character of Sen. Obama and has really surprised me.

The media sadly will spin this for both camps and maybe it's become blown out of proportion to a small degree, however it does paint a not so perfect picture of the other candidate representing all of the democratic party,

I support Sen. Clinton based on her platform and as a person that I know will actually lead this country, not backing down or turning from any issue or any person that she has to face.

Oops…I meant interpret that.

Voters please take mental note and stay aware that the media support those candidates who are able to speak through their hands and buy their words. Consequently, the media’s words and visual representation are full of biasness and manipulation. Don’t be fooled America. Can we try to (at the very least) be independent thinkers who are not subjected to the nonsensical maneuvers of the media? Such is my hope for the 2008 elections.

Senator Obama is attempting ,with the help of conciencious people, to change for the better the world we live in.
The arrogance that the media is implling would certainly come from the Clintons before anyone else. They will manipulate ANYTHING and, I stress ANYTHING to regain power.

There has never been a situation when Senator Obama has shown to be anything less than a polite, well manared gentlemen.

Defendinf himself from untruths said about him by the Clinton campaign does not constitute in my view a negative or undignified campaign. What should any normal person do when they are deliberately misquoted, specially during a seriously important US presidential bid? It seems to me that if he had not been attacked by the Clintons , Senator Obama would have never been put in that position. So stop manipulating facts to start honoring senator Obama as the well manared statesman that he has proven to be.

Another thing, who is the real presidential candidate? Mr. or Mrs. Clinton?
It is a very sad state of affairs when the FIRST WOMAN presidential candidate in this US of A has to stoop down AND DO POLITICS LIKE ALL THE MAN BEFORE HER. As a woman this is very undignifying and defeats the whole purpose and pride I could feel if I was properly being represented by Mrs. Clinton.
Their tactics are old and tired. They do prove to me now that they represent the way of the past. The American people deserve better than the way these people are conducting themselves. SHAME ON YOU CLINTONS. It is time for you faze into the past and let a new America florish.
TOGETHER WE CAN, TOGETHER WE WILL.

Unfortunately, I am not able to vote in this country. The Clintons should simply ignore this issue and have an opportunity to show their superiority in the matter.
As for Obama, he's posture and behaviour was quite obvious; and this would not have really mattered much, had this been a simple gathering. However, it was the State of the Union's speech, under watchful eye from millions of people, and at the very least, as a candidate for the American Presidency - you are obliged to give an example of politeness and etiquette.
But clearly, Obama either did not mean to be impolite, which leaves us to think that he is not formed enough to understand this and thus hold a post of such importance and influence worldwide - or simply that he really is arrogant, and thinks that he is above any mannerism -

So, just think for a minute..........

Is this the President you want to represent you ?

Ok. So if someone's husband came out and started attacking you because you were a threat to their "Kingdom" and you decided not to be the 1st person to shake their hand when they come by...I DON'T blame him. Hillary can play the nice role on this if she wants. Truth is the Clintons got upset because they see that they are ACTUALLY going to have to work to obtain this nomination and that it will not just be given to them(like they think it should), so Bill took some shots at Obama and THEN when they were getting a negative feedback from it all is when they decide to call it "truths" So please spare the world with how Obama reacted...Because most of us would have done the same.

Holy unnecessary drama Bat-man! I think the democrats are going to blow their entire opportunity for the presidency.

Edwards drop out and we're left with these two attention seeking pop-culture nominees. The presidency will soon become a reality TV show.

Guess I'm voting republican this time around.

I personally don't care what people think about this moment, I saw the replay of the SOTU, and caught this moment. The more I look at it, I don't think it matters as much as everyone thinks it does. Here's the real deal, I flat out refuse to vote for Clinton on the grounds that her tactics seem unfriendly. Anything she does seems to reflect on her foreign policy.

Either way you read this, I'm still not voting for her, I would rather not vote, or cast for a republican, than to vote for her.

WHO CARES!?!? Obviously Ride-or-die Hillary supporters are going to act as if this is a tell-tale sign of God-knows-what, but really, this is a non-issue.

All of you are worried about having a polite president, how about we have a president who doesn't CRY because campaigning is difficult? IT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO BE EASY! I think our president should be a little more resolved and stronger than that.

I know this is hard for people who look for any little excuse like a third-grade essay to discredit a truly honest man, but maybe, JUST MAYBE, A POTENTIAL SNUB DOES NOT MATTER IN THE GRAND SCHEME OF THINGS!!!

GROW UP.

And I am very disheartened at CNN for this story, but what should I expect from a media outlet that had "Britney Spears Files for Divorce" as a breaking news headline on an election day.

OBAMA '08!

Wow it's no mystery what demographic you people are that hate Obama. Comments posted on this forum make me realize there is a fine line between stereotypes and facts. I am not a democrat, but I support anyone who has a real chance of putting an end to the dreams (or nightmares) of a Hillary Clinton presidency. I think he did snub her on purpose, but for good reason. I think he was worried that if he looked at her and she opened her mouth, he might smack her in the face. Nothing wrong with having a little self control. I have to do it myself every time I see her on TV. But seriously this is not an issue that should have an impact on either campaign. What is an issue is the constant hypocrisy displayed by so many voters. Bush and Hillary have the same goals as president, so you can't hate one and like the other. Hillary, like Bush and so many presidents before him, would get into office and do whatever she could to make as much money as possible in four or eight years. The highest office in the land has become nothing but an instant lotto jackpot for those elected. Isn't that one of the main things people want to CHANGE? Can you imagine if we had a president that actually worked for the American people instead of himself? I don't know why, but for some reason I think Obama could be that person. And this is coming from a republican who is a strong supporter of John McCain!

Another example of money grabbing, stuff the facts journalism. The press would love nothing more than a split in the number of delegates at the democratic convention so that the conventions then become a BIG story too. So what they decide to do is play up a complete non -story when Obama does something remotely wrong and then in two days time there will be a completely different story about Hiliary or Bill and about another complete non issue which makes them sound bad. This constant see-sawing of the press means that nobody ever gets full momentum and the race keeps going back and forth. Therefore people are more interested in the primiaries for longer = more money for network news.

Is it any wonder that a lot of americans don't know what many of the issues at stake are, when the press cares to concentrate on playground disputes such as Obama doesn't shake Hilary's hand or Hilary says something about Obama. Its ridiculous! When was the last time as policy based article was written?

Personally I like Obama and i also like Hilary but if you look at the policy platform of the three leading dems in this race Edwards anti-lobbyist anti corporate interest stance is the exact thing that America needs. However the press couldn't make a story out of him so he got no press coverage.

its sad to see that most of the hateful comments are from women, manners didnt matter 3 weeks ago when they were lying about this mans records. no morals or anything else mattered then..... no matter what this man does you still wont give me a fair shot. alot of women seem to have there own agenda,

would hillary even be a senator if she wasnt married to bill? would she even be running for president if her husband wasnt president? people need to wakeup and look in the mirror and be honest with themselves first. if you cant be honest with yourself... then who are u fooling? the lack of inteligence in this country is really showing, its a sad day.

There is nothing to be nice about in politics, it is a dirty game and we all ,well.... some of us, know that at this point. Thank you TJ for that intelligent comment above. What is "nice" anyway?

The way I see it Barbara Bush has about 12 years experience. Should we nominate her also? I'm sure no one is taking this decision lightly, but I can't understand how Hilary has so much more experience that Obama. I think history has proven that even those with the most experience can still be worthless.

Unless you have substantial evidence to report, don't waste the public's time with nonsense such as a photograph depicting nothing.
Obama, Obama....face the truth now your just not ready to be the President of the United States! It's not a game, it's not a hobby and it takes someone who has resolve in the face of fear, dialog in the face of discord and calm in the face of uncertainity. You may have fooled the country with your intellect and strong speech. You are no Jack Kennedy in any comparison! Senator Clinton has all of the atttributes and more important she has my vote!

Who cares if Obama "snubbed" Clinton? This is a presidential election. There are much more significant issues that CNN could be reporting on. Does shaking your opponents hand somehow make you more "suitable" to be president? I don't think so.

If you read CNN's text, it is obvious Obama was nervous about the issue (untruthfull?).

Then later in the day he puts foot in mouth with sexist comment about Clinton's Florida win being just a beauty contest. No doubt if he got the 50% it would have been a mandate in Obama-speak.

Now his camp has made him a victim in SC, and will use race & sexism going fwd.
