(CNN) – Until this week, it looked like Republicans might have a lock on the famous tough guy demographic this year: Mike Huckabee has hit the campaign trail with martial arts star Chuck Norris and WWE star Ric Flair, and John McCain got the nod of approval from Rambo himself, Sylvester Stallone.

But on Tuesday, as his home state headed to the polls, Florida resident Terry Bollea – ‘Hulk Hogan’ to millions of wrestling fans – announced his own presidential pick: Democrat Barack Obama.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Bollea was asked who he would like to see in the Oval Office. "If I had to step out, and say who I really believe in - that catches my ear, that makes sense, that really can make a change - I would say Obama," he replied.

"Everybody plays this card - the bad guy card, you know the dirty politics thing, talk about the way people dress, act and look - and, he's the choice. He seems like the real deal, you know."

Florida's Democratic vote, which awarded no delegates, went to New York Sen. Hillary Clinton.

I know alot of SERIOUS wrestling fans they may now side with Obama b/c they think Hogan is a god. I already love Obama, this just makes me love him more.

I always knew that Hulk Hogan was a decent guy. Well this proves it! Thank you Hulk Hogan for your intelligent endorsement of Senator Barack Obama for President of The United States. I pray that your son is much better after that tragic accident last year. You didn't deserve to have that in your life.

Thank again for your fantastic endorsement of Senator Barack Obama. It's much appreciated!

Grow up people, its politics and you are being very shallow.

Hillary Supporter   January 31st, 2008 5:15 pm ET

Hulk Hogan does not hold an weight except for probably Steroids, he did not care about his son when he provided him with alcohol when he was underaged which led to another underaged being hospitalized. No one care's what he thinks, he obviously does not think!

Hillary for President!

Tom Pistelli   January 31st, 2008 5:07 pm ET

Fellow Americans,

I see a large number of us taking jabs at Obama because of brief interaction with Tony Rezko, however the Clintons were in the same boat with Rezko. Please Google Tony Rezko and Clintons...Bill and Hill took a photo with Tony while Bill was running for President (2nd term). If we're going to attack Obama for this relationship, we'll need to attack the Clintons as well. Fair is Fair...the info is noted below...

And this is important why???? Hulk Hogan! Give me a break.

this is important   January 31st, 2008 3:38 pm ET

Hulk voted in Florida, thats right he was part of the 33%, not the 50% winning vote.
That will constinutionallly count in August and in November for sure.

D. Smith   January 31st, 2008 2:58 pm ET

Just because someone dresses well, has great speech and looks nice does not mean they will be able to run this country. I believe that Obama will be a good leader someday but not now. He does not have the experience. How can someone that has not run a city or a state be able to run this country? I do believe that he has some great ideas, but he has no experience. I mean, I could come up with some awesome ideas that would be great for this country, but I don't think that anyone will vote for me.

Jake, California   January 31st, 2008 2:51 pm ET

Nice move machine man...go kick some back sides for us...we'll need you in the general elections cuz Hillary will be gone by the end of Super Tuesday!

john g   January 31st, 2008 2:50 pm ET

For all the clinton supporters claiming that the media is being biased. U support the incumbant candidate, the wife of a former president, she should have the majority of the endorsements, she should have the most money. When some guy comes out of nowhere and gives the establishment a crebible fight then thats newsworthy. Hillary Clinton's endorsemnts are being reported (i saw maxine waters the other day and somehow i know barbara streisand is supporting her), although most of them she got when she was the inevitable nominee. However, considering the dynamics of the race the fact that obama is getting so many recently is newsworthy.

Danny A   January 31st, 2008 2:40 pm ET

What you gonna do? When Obama and Hulkamania run wild on you?

james, newport, KY   January 31st, 2008 2:38 pm ET

I like Hulk Hogan, even if I disagree with his politics. But if McCain is the nominee for the Repubs, then I might vote for Obama....why not? What else left has this country to lose?

observer   January 31st, 2008 2:23 pm ET

And this is news? Maybe he came on board to help hold Ted Kennedy up. Not as though these endorsements mean much, Hulk has a lot sitting on his shoulders right now after his last little bit of news. Welcome to him Obama. Most of these endorsements just brings to light some checkered past. of the endorser. They would better serve themselves just staying neutral, guess negative attention is better than no attention. Vote Hillary

Jason   January 31st, 2008 2:10 pm ET

I think the primary process will end up being more exciting than the actual general election contest, unless of course a third party candidate jumps in and gives us some common sense for a change.

We're sleepwalking towards a Clinton/Obama versus McCain/Huckabee situation. Romney? I dunno. Either way, these last five are perhaps the most boring candidates left.

Way to go America. Obama is all sentimental and feel-goody with vapid answers on everything, Huckabee is the sentimental feel-goody on the other side(a cross of Jimmy Carter/Bill Clinton/Elmer Fudd), Romney is the Kerry of '08, McCain is really boring and displays lots of arrogance when he's winning, and Hillary is the pro-war, pro-Amnesty lefty(wrong on both of those key issues). It's all just more of the same.

Richardson, Dodd, Edwards, Paul and Biden. I'd take those five over the five that are left any day. Once again, we dismiss reason and sound judgment over flash, style, sentimentality and a whole lot of sunshine blown up our butts.

I'll take the Rock and Hulkster against Chuck Norris and Stallone any day.

"Can you smeeeellllllll what Barack is cooking ?!!!"

Ned   January 31st, 2008 1:56 pm ET

Hulksters endorsement of Obama carries more weight than Schwarzeneggers endorsemrnt of McCain. Maybe this shouldn't be important, but the fact is .... it is important to millions of Hogan fans.

Thomas, St. Petersburg, FL   January 31st, 2008 1:35 pm ET

Let's see...

Within the last few months, Hulk Hogan's son was in a car accident that resulted in permanent injuries to his buddy (an Iraq War veteran), despite receiving several speeding accidents in the past.

Soon thereafter, Hulk Hogan's wife filed for divorce (whether this is a stunt to safeguard the Hogan fortune due to the aforementioned unfortunate accident victim is another issue).

It seems to me that Hulk Hogan needs to reset his priorities and focus on his fractured family before concerning himself with the political arena.

Tim   January 31st, 2008 1:30 pm ET

Hillary gets many endorsements like this every day, but it is hardly ever mentioned in the media. This is no big deal. Hillary still has about twice the endorsements Obama has.

Tumbleweed 86   January 31st, 2008 1:28 pm ET

It's almost as insulting for me to type this, but I had to. Does anyone, I mean anyone, seriously care what a washed-up, steroid fueled, pseudo-celebrity 'endorses'? Man he's as pathetic as the candidate he's backing.

Shaun   January 31st, 2008 1:24 pm ET

Really CNN, do you think this is noteworthy news? This is sad.

Ryan   January 31st, 2008 1:24 pm ET

Hillary Clinton is basically playing politics without understanding the reality of being the President of the United States of America. I don't think she can handle the pressure of today's world.

Incase she wins the democratic nomination and happens to defeat her republican rival, the pressure of being president will make her to always cry behind doors in the oval office.

It seems like Bill Clinton wants to be president again in 2008. I don't know if he is campaigning for himself or for Hillary.

Barack Obama is the person America needs now (not want). It is high time we americans see people by their character and what they stand for and not by the color of thier skin.

If Hillary Clinton becomes the president of the United States of America? the nation will regret it forever. That's my prediction

Mark   January 31st, 2008 1:22 pm ET

lighten up people! Hogan was asked a question and gave it his answer. No one claims that Hogan major endorsement, it's just light-hearted news.

Obama 08

Mike Parris   January 31st, 2008 1:15 pm ET

Dave Powell is on the money! (See below) ... The Clintons may be experienced, but they bring a tractor-trailer full of skeletons with them. America, WAKE UP! We don't need to contintue this Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton routine! We need fresh ideas and new faces in our government ... McCain or Obama! I personally think an Obama/Edwards ticket would be an electable ticket ... I think McCain is getting a little long in the tooth. However, if it is Hillary vs. McCain, my vote goes to McCain in a heartbeat!

hope   January 31st, 2008 1:10 pm ET

It blows me away how judgemental people are on who does what, if it not in their interest or things don't go there way, then out comes the fights and smears.
Does it matter who supports whom the grand scheme of things? Are we not alll americans who live in a country of free choices?
So with all the endorsements and support to whom ever, is just an indication of who they believe in................is there anything wrong with that?
Are they endorsing and supporting the candidate, or is the candidate endorsing or supporting THEM?????????? Is this campaign about the supporters or the candidates??????? THINK THINK, or
Go figure,
go OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!

Eli   January 31st, 2008 1:01 pm ET

I don't understand some people. Hillary has got Bill because he is her HUSBAND. That is why he is on the trail with her. I find it funny when people talk about Hillary calling out her big dog, and that he should not be playing as much a role, once again he is her HUSBAND. Michelle Obama is on the trail with her husband and I heard her give a fire and brim stone speech the other day, nothing was said about that. I like both of these people but the media and some people are stirring up the trouble. If this was two white men running and doing these things it would be regular politics.

Cnn, I am a fan of your network and have been an avid watcher for sometime. But, over the last 20 days I have done a little poll. In 18 of those days, you have given Barack more positive press coverage than Hillary Clinton. 18/20 = 90%.

Today, 2 for Barack.

Barack raises 32 million.
Hulk Hogan's Endorsement.

Of course, I guess you forgot Hillary has out raised him thus far, but alas, that is not worthy information b/c it is put Barack in the best light.

I will be back tomorrow with an update.

Good for him. Lighten up. If the ultimate warrior endorses clinton and i dont see a blog on it i will join u in writing a formal complaint to cnn.

Ashley   January 31st, 2008 12:46 pm ET

Thats nice, Obama has all the celebrities doing his dirty work for him; considering he just lets them speak, while he sits back smiling. Also, lets notice that most of the people on this message board that are for Obama are men (boys). I'm a college student and it's sad.

Dan, NJ   January 31st, 2008 12:36 pm ET

Well, Jesse "the Body" Ventura and Arnold Schwarzenegger were both elected governors. I guess Hulk Hogan's opinion could plausibly make a difference.

And while Stalone was Rambo, he was also Rocky. And Rocky got his butt handed to him by Thunderlips aka Hulk Hogan.

Don't take everything so seriously. This is just funny.

Dennis   January 31st, 2008 12:35 pm ET

I don't mean to belittle Hulk Hogan, and I share his enthusiasm for Obama, but this is getting silly.

I understand why CNN reported this after the attention Stallone, Norris, and now Ahnuld are getting for their endorsements (but at least Ahnuld is a Governor now), but this is just nonsensical.

Whats next? Who is the Rock endorsing? How about Bruce Willis? Any other action stars want to chime in?

Bo   January 31st, 2008 12:35 pm ET

Why are the opinions of celebrities even considered in politics? Celebrities are paid to entertain, not to influence the political landscape of the country. It bothers me to see actors trying to use their celebrity status to influence our future government. They are entitled to their opinion, but it is just that, their opinion, and should carry no more weight than the opinion of any other voter on the street.

Make your own decision 08

Mastermind   January 31st, 2008 12:33 pm ET

Obama is the one, and the only one.

God will give him the strenght, and the knowledge that he needs to be the next president of United State of America.

Joe   January 31st, 2008 12:33 pm ET

I admire Obama to the fullest and would like to see him in the WH. I don't think that it's worth reporting on the Thicker that Hogan is endorsing him tough. But in the other hand, minor details like that being reported that creates so much bad comments really helps in a way, it triggers all the opponents to come out as who they really are. It really shows that certain people are against Obama just by stereotyping. They sound very ignorant and don't even have a real reasons to oppose to his sucess or popularity . Example : Mike wrote,
wow, how pathetic. first it's oprah, now it's hulk hogan.
america is truly so shallow and dumb, it's hard to believe that this is actually reported as "news".

any candidate who needs celebrity endorsements is a failure.

Celebrities expressing their choice on TV shoudn't be a suprise, they leave in front of the camera and are askedquestions on a variety of so subjects.

He could have been asked who do you thin is the best: Kobe or Lebron ?

Behind this type of comment it is clear that either Race or Ignorance is bliding the author

Alex H   January 31st, 2008 12:33 pm ET

Everyone who's making a big deal about it:

Thanks for MAKING it a big deal to you. When I read it, I thought "Oh well, that's interesting" and then I read all of the other action stars who are endorsing people and thought "wow, that would make a great Rumble Royal". But then I read all of your comments and thought "wow, you are all pathetic for taking this as something that is actually important" Cuz seriously... its not... and people who read it will know that its not so why make it important by getting all bent out of shape and (this goes for you mr. caps-lock) typing up a scene.

Oh... and the ticker is for political news... and since if you couldn't tell that yesterday was much more about dems than republicans (cuz... oh i don't know, they were gettin ready for a debate), today the dems are gettin ready for a debate so the real news is more about republicans. Come on people, lets try and think things through before we type them out.

Macho Man Randy Savage'08 ^_^

Eli   January 31st, 2008 12:33 pm ET

Yes alot of people are wanting Obama, but IF he gets the nomination he will never be President. He will be attacked from both sides beacuse he does not have the experience. He is an inspirational speaker but he does not know what to do after that. He preaches CHANGE but does not tell us how his dreams can be completed. I have to stay with Hillary Clinton.

Rob   January 31st, 2008 12:32 pm ET

You Hillary-trolls are sooooo hurt by this. No sense of humor just like your candidate, unless it benefits you.

Obama is gonna body slam Hillary like Hogan slammed "Andre the Giant".

Conan   January 31st, 2008 12:32 pm ET

Well that seals it. I always base my vote on what the Hulkster suggests.

Derek   January 31st, 2008 12:31 pm ET

I find it ironic that hardline so called "united states" citizens can't even buy into someone who really cares about doin just that, UNITING the country. but i guess they are satisfied with the same-ole' same-ole'. And when a celebrity, who is a U.S. citizen the last time i checked, voices his choice, we are up in arms about it.
i bet the next thing you'll say is that because hogan is a former professional wrestler his vote shouldn't count. i wonder also if alot of people would take this stance if he had endorsed hillary clinton. Gee if we shouldn't value the opinions of celebrites; i guess Ronald Reagan would've never been president. huh and that's funny. Anyone remember Jesse the body Ventura. He was once a governor. Imagine that

larry buchas, new britain, ct   January 31st, 2008 12:31 pm ET

What's he gonns' do, hit the campaign trail? Maybe he can incite the crowd & rip his shirt?

Now that these tough guys are endorsing candidates, what's left for Hillary

My guess it's Fabulous Moolah.

Dave C - N.J.   January 31st, 2008 12:30 pm ET

Celebrity endorsements don't really sway anyone...it's been proven time and time again.

Obama did not ask for Hulk to endorse him.

If you don't like the ticker, don't read it.

Hulk is more successful and in better shape than any of you jerks. :)

ANTI CLINTONS   January 31st, 2008 12:28 pm ET

Good heavens, Hulk Hogan! It doesn't matter what celebrity backs a politician, I just want Obama to win!

Obama 08!

little_bit_help   January 31st, 2008 12:28 pm ET

Obama lovers, we are getting there.. just need a little bit push...now the race is even.

Try to get a friend or a relative to vote for Obama.. that will make a big difference....

here is the excrept from the Rasmussen reports:

In the race for the Democratic Presidential Nomination, it’s now Hillary Clinton 42% and Barack Obama 35%. (see recent daily numbers). Last night was the first night of interviews without John Edwards in the race. For last night’s data alone, Clinton and Obama were essentially even. Samples for individual nights are very small and results should be interpreted with caution. The next Presidential Tracking Poll update is scheduled for Friday at 11:00 a.m.

Allen   January 31st, 2008 12:28 pm ET

Barack Obama for 2008 !!!! He is the right man for the job; he will “Unite” this nation as one. He will make a difference for the lives of all people regardless of who you are or what you believe in. This Man is a great Man, and I believe he bring about the change this country so desperately needs. This is the “United” States of American and he “Barack Obama” is this nations best choice.

emma   January 31st, 2008 12:26 pm ET

Don't we have free speech anymore. The Hulk has the absolute right to endorse any one that he thinks will put our great nation back on track. We need some fresh air in the system and I believe only Obama represents that in this race.

Bill   January 31st, 2008 12:25 pm ET

It truly will be a sad day in this country if the americans have to result to obama to lead this country. obama will run this country furthur into the ground than bush already has and so will hillary clinton. our best choice right now is to not pick any democrat. we owe it to all the troops that have been over to iraq and back, that have died in iraq, and that are currently in iraq to stay on the course and finish that job that we started so that we or our children or grandchildren don't have to go back to finish a job that we did not complete. We must not pull out to soon and we must not set timetables. Timetables will just give Al Queada a date for when they can attack us or even Iraq again. We need to get our priorities in order and electing the first black president or the first woman president is definitley not a priority in the 2008 elections because they will definitely not bring the change that the United States of America is looking for or NEEDS!

Impressed   January 31st, 2008 12:25 pm ET

Frankly, I'm impressed that Hulk Hogan has an opinion about a political candidate. His life and fortunes have nothing to do with politics.....he doesn't have to endorse anyone to get his picture in the paper and.it demonstrates (yet again) how sensible and straightforward Obama's message is, and how much we all believe in his abilites and want him to be the President!

Go Obama! And thanks Hulk Hogan!

Lisa   January 31st, 2008 12:24 pm ET

Dan   January 31st, 2008 12:23 pm ET

REALLY???? This is what our election has boiled down to... which "B", "C" or "D" listed star supports a candidate. No wonder the world laughs at our process.

Tony   January 31st, 2008 12:22 pm ET

Now the voters can see who is really for Special Interest. I suppose nothing will ever get don if he wins the Presidency.

It's really all over for Hillary now!

Charm, San Diego CA   January 31st, 2008 12:21 pm ET

Sure the Hulkster has a right to say who he's endorsing. That's one of the great things about America. You can do that without fear of someone with a machete whacking off your unmentionables. But in the same instance, it's a sad thing that so many American's are influenced over celebrity endorsements. Especially those who have had their knoggen slammed into the floor a few times. *sigh*

Mae   January 31st, 2008 12:21 pm ET

This is really hilarious, who cares about all of these worn out folks who are endorsing BO. By the way arent' they all past history, I thought the future is the BO Camp's theme. It was good for a few days because CNN focused its nasty remarks on the repubs and left Golden Boy out of the news, that was refreshing!

Why doesn't Obama ever speak on the issues that He is bi-racial. That topic I believe will relate to all American (black & white). Also, I think he needs to speak about being raised by his Grandparents, to Senior Citizens.

Just a thought

Alabama Joe   January 31st, 2008 12:19 pm ET

Please try to remember that when the constitution was written blacks were not considered people. WE THE PEOPLE – meant we the white people that own and control everything. Despite the great progress that this great country has made, racism is still alive and well and isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Why would you expect it to be any different in politics Everyone says that they don't want racism to be a factor yet both of their teams seem to continually stir the pot – not necessarily the candidates but their handlers that know that when racism is spun the right way it can win elections. That will only change when America changes and that won't be anytime soon.

The Hulk – Bush seemed like the real deal too back in 2000 and look where that got us.

Hey Hillary -

ndinimotto   January 31st, 2008 12:13 pm ET

The saddest thing about americans in general is that you fell for the greatest sucker puncher, you started believing your own hype, you so felt the need to believe you were relevent to in this world that you let one man, sorry stupid imbicile destroy any ounce
of credibilty that you had in the world.
Obama is your best bet for the simply reason that he offers america a way forward, a face that of a man who is intelligent has travelled and embodies what america is today, this is not the wild west where you can go in guns blazing.
The truth is very few people actual like you and a lot would love to see you go even deeper into recession, but the really sad thing is that you had in your power to prevent this happening and you chose to sot back and do nothing.

Now you have another chance to do SOMETHING or do NOTHING AGAIN.

Tom Donaldson   January 31st, 2008 12:13 pm ET

Joe – that is aweful to use animals as a figure of speech to endorse someone who you think would lead this country. So your view is the dog would eat the cat and the parakeet wouldn't tell who did it. That is just like the Clinton's, throw a brick and hide their hand. Good luck with the animals but Obama could care less because he is thinking an focusing on winning.

In a fallen world filled with people on a stage saying "like me! like me!" but their words speak half truths... what is the point in getting mad because a celebrity endorses someone! Seriously!

I don't believe CNN posted the news to sway people's opinion... it is just fun and interesting to see people what people have to say. Our opinions are being posted as news... why not his?

Seriously, to get mad b/c CNN posted that news is ridiculous.... unless of course you never speak to anyone that finds your story uninteresting.

blkjazz   January 31st, 2008 12:10 pm ET

Hulk Hogan a right to his opinion. He made a wise decision. The rabid response from some seems indicative of a larger problem. You know, the one that has haunted this country for over 400 years. Barack Obama's election would go a very long way toward making America the kind of country it could be......one nation, undivided with liberty and justice for all. It is, I suppose, understandable that the same forces that benefit from division would oppose his election and say silly stuff on boards like this in an attempt maintain their corrupt advantage.

joe   January 31st, 2008 12:09 pm ET

i think that the president of the us is the most under reted job in the world
so y not let obama get in office

Jeni   January 31st, 2008 12:08 pm ET

Now I convinced! Yes, if the hulk is for Obama that so I am I, darn it. Ha-Ha!!! That is how I chose who to vote for. Could it be that he came out because his employer VH1 is owned by CNN (and we all know how much CNN wants to put him in office). CNN, your bias is becoming too much. Go Hillary!!!

Sean   January 31st, 2008 12:08 pm ET

Finally! An endorsement with some true political clout! :)

dave   January 31st, 2008 12:08 pm ET

Dennis Hof, owner of the Moonlite BunnyRanch is raising money for Ron Paul, John Mayer is making videos endorsing him and Hulk Hogan answering a question on who he is voting for is Obama "needing a celebrity endorsement"? Riiight.

Ron Paul is the most overlooked candidate on the ballot. If he was given the chance to speak, to answer questions and share with the people his vision~he would have so many more backers. Hes telling the truth, he knows what needs to be done in Washington. He can get the economy back on track. Romeny cant do it and neither can McCain. The best ticket would be Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee together supporting American!

john g   January 31st, 2008 12:00 pm ET

I think its agreed that this is obviously not hard news. However, im glad that hulk hogan and some people who watch his show or wwf wrestling who never had an interest in politics before now are getting interested. Every four years when we have the presidentialt election more than half the country elegible to vote doesnt. Obama gives us the opportunity to change that and In my opinion thats a good thing for democrats.

Marcelo   January 31st, 2008 11:59 am ET

I don't know why people critique people who endorse a candidate. It's that political figure/celebrity chooses who they want to endorse, not vice versa. Just like you have a choice to vote for who you want (i.e. Ron Paul), and its not pathetic that you would go online and endorse your candidate.

jennifer   January 31st, 2008 11:59 am ET

Obama's money is dirty. That's the story the media refuses to cover. I hope Obama does make it to the white house and the American people can see what an idiot he is. I'm ready for "Bush" round 2.

Becky   January 31st, 2008 11:57 am ET

OMG....Now I know who to vote for cuz Hulk told me!!!...WHEW I was waiting for this endorsement.....what a relief!!!!......

Ken, Austin TX   January 31st, 2008 11:57 am ET

I just don't understand why a lot you guys are being so negative about the fact that Hulk Hogan is backing Barack Obama. Hulk Hogan has the constitutional-given right to back any candidate in which he chooses. What makes you think your vote is so much better than his, or that the proposal that Hogan is backing Barack is somehow "not" news? If you ask me, I believe it's newsworthy. If you didn't contest to Hulk Hogan participating in "fake" wrestling for over 40 years, then please don't contest the fact that he is partaking in this political race. You should be happy that he is using his role model presence to even promote politics.

Manny VP   January 31st, 2008 11:56 am ET

Woooooooow...CNN – really?!?!?! Oh becasue Hulk Hogan endorsed him ... I Will vote for Obama....because I cannot think for myself, and I need guidance from the powers that be to tell me who tehy think I should vote for!
Seriosuly CNN – what is going on with you?!?!? How is this NEWS?!?!?
Get back to the real stories! IF you have nothing worthy to report, then DON'T!!! We won't die because you haven't updated your site in the last 10 minutes. I would rather spend time reading real news than stupid stories such as the above.
So NOT WORTH IT!

well, heck yeah, Hulk! you do have some brains under that steroid pumped skull!

Mel   January 31st, 2008 11:56 am ET

Considering the fact that Wolf Blitzer gave Hillary Clinton, on Tuesday night, more air time than any presidential candidate so far, I would say the media is more in favor to Clinton. And Obama does not persuade celebrities to endorse him-he is simply the best candidate and people are recogizing that. Furthermore, Bill Clinton was also a freshman when he entered the white.

Amy R.   January 31st, 2008 11:56 am ET

The use of the word "boy" to allude to an Afican-American is pretty tasteless if not downright racists.

Phyllis/ PA   January 31st, 2008 11:52 am ET

After this election ALL endorsements should be outlawed. Voting for a president is serious business. A nomination should not be swayed by celebrities. Presidents can determine if we go to war, have a job, and what social problems will be addressed. This primary needs better coverage of issues instead of who has who on their team.

Matt   January 31st, 2008 11:51 am ET

Watcha gonna do, brother, when Obamamania runs wild on YOU! :P

Great choice. I also think that Barrack is the only choice someone can make. Think about Barrack talking to Fidele Castro. will that not better help the people in Cuba than killing Fidele. Just an Example.

Ryan from New Mexico   January 31st, 2008 11:46 am ET

One thing i can't understand is how long these people are going to try and keep Obama's Campaign above water with all of these crazy endorsements?

He's very hypocritical, especially with an Endorsement from Ted Kennedy, who's the Patry's Established "Lion." Instead of repelling that endorsement, he relished it

What change does Obama talk about anyhow??? He's not willing to go into dtail about that, which is kinda Slick in my eyes....

Will when the Endorsements are all dried up and theres no more significant figures to help his campaign out, we'll see how Obama can hold himself up on his own merit

Orlando   January 31st, 2008 11:46 am ET

Mike- to say Americans are truly shallow and dumb speaks directly to you. It's laugable that you would speak so low of yourself.

Obama 08

laurie   January 31st, 2008 11:46 am ET

lol you don't think the Hulk has a right to express who he would like to see in office? He is after all a United States Citizen!

I really wish people would get over the insults and get down to what you really think of these two running for office and what it is YOU want in a candidate!
It seems as though there is so much racism in this race for office ... I really thought we were past this in this country... and thought that it was just a media hype but from reading the blogs all across the internet you can see it so bold!

Time to get on with life and realize that black, white, asian, or mexican we are what the constitution says.......WE THE PEOPLE....... stop already and get down to your own homework and pick the right person for office for you!

Petra   January 31st, 2008 11:46 am ET

This is great news. Not pathetic!! Hilary uses Bill (The 'great' ex-president). Obama has a right to endorsements too. If Hilary and Bill want to play dirty; Obama should take off his gloves too. It isn't politics as usual, and Obama understands that. However we shouldn't let Hilary and Bill just 'get away with it' again. Thank you Hulk Hogan.

Tim   January 31st, 2008 11:46 am ET

Wrestling is fake and so is Obama. The "real deal" is Hillary Clinton.

The best aspect of the ascendancy of John McCain is the diminishing of Rush Limbaugh – nasty blowhard of the far right. He has bragged about his closeness to Bush for years now. Great, now he can enjoy the slide downhill right beside Bush. He has constantly whined about McCain destroying the Republican party – I guess without knowing he and Bush have already achieved that dubious distinction.

Ron, TX   January 31st, 2008 11:45 am ET

Not going to break the bank either way, but it's pretty fun news nonetheless. Obama is also receiving an endorsement from a Cali senator today.

No   January 31st, 2008 11:43 am ET

Yet again... All CNN can do is tout thier golden boy.

I am an independant that will refuse to put a n00b in the white house. I will vote Clinton.... But if not given that choice I would actually put BUSH back in the WH!!!!!!

This guy has the potential to really screw us all up! And it's more likely than not!
The WH is no place for a freshman... Period!

Geri   January 31st, 2008 11:43 am ET

Aren't there 2 candidates running in the democratic race??? CNN...your bias is showing again with articles only on your fair haired boy.

Bastien Beauchamp (NYC)   January 31st, 2008 11:42 am ET

"Florida's Democratic vote, which awarded no delegates, went to New York Sen. Hillary Clinton."

It has no purpose here!!

HULKAMANIA   January 31st, 2008 11:41 am ET

Finally. I think a lot of us, myself included, have been waiting to decide who to cast our ballots for until Suburban Commando weighed in and gave us his endorsement. Ah, that's a load off my mind. And just in time for Super Tuesday, luckily. Okay, Obama it is.

Obama/Hogan '08!

meisha   January 31st, 2008 11:41 am ET

I don't think there's anything wrong with celebrities letting it be known who they would like in office. They have to vote too, and because they are clebrities what they beleive in is televised. It has nothing at all to do with celebrity endorsements.

Mike,

matt   January 31st, 2008 11:39 am ET

Or, perhaps the party (and the Country) have finally grown tired of the divisive, misrepresentations of the lunitic, (drug user) Limbaugh's tirades about the "base", who seem to be more concerned with winning elections, and starting immmoral wars, than solving the countries problems......I'm constantly amazed by the hypocracy of this crowd who call themselves conservative but want to mess with the Constitution (read gay marriage paranoia).

Conservative used to mean fiscal conservative, and keeping governemnt out of peoples lives. (the message of Mr. Ron Paul by the way) The goal of the social conservative "Base" Mr. Limbaugh tries to whip into a lather with his daily radio sludge appears to wish just the opposite.

If Mr. Limbaugh was a true conservative he would get behind Mr Paul... but. oh wait... since he can't win an election Mr. Limbaugh can't be bothered.

Scott, Royal Oak, MI   January 31st, 2008 11:38 am ET

Mike: Obama clearly doesn't "need" celebrity endorsements. I highly doubt he sought the endorsement of Hulk Hogan, or will showcase it in any way.

Nate: This is basically a political blog. Not everything has to be cutting edge news.

Bruno   January 31st, 2008 11:38 am ET

Nice one, I love Hulk Hogan.

LfromTulsa   January 31st, 2008 11:37 am ET

Folks, throwing men around a ring as a profession hardly makes that person credible in weighing in on politics

Ace   January 31st, 2008 11:37 am ET

Hulk Hogan backing Obama makes your political ticker? I'm still waiting to see "Rep. Maxine Waters of California Endorses Clinton" on your ticker. I think that's pretty major.

Hulakamania + Obamamania = teh win

Al in Wpg   January 31st, 2008 11:33 am ET

I will base my vote on whoever Britney Spears endorses.

Erik in NC   January 31st, 2008 11:33 am ET

This isn't news. I seriously doubt Obama was courting Hulk Hogan as a supporter. The man has an opinion and because he is a celebrity, he gets noticed. I'm sure Obama thanks him for his support, but you're not going to see the Hulkster on the campaign trail like Chuck Norris has done for Huckabee.

Al in Wpg   January 31st, 2008 11:33 am ET

I may be slightly interested in political indorsements, but celebrity endorsments are not news.

Johnson   January 31st, 2008 11:33 am ET

I think this just goes to show that Obama supports are diverse. Its not like the candidates are going to say no to an endorsement by individuals. That would be rather dumb. I guess when candidates don't get a celebrity vote, its easy to claim that others aren't good enough.

Since Barack Obama is already leading among people with college degrees, this may help him with the rest of Democratic electorate.

Watch out Hulk- you may be tough, but Hillary Clinton is the kind of person who will break the rules and kick you in the groin.

a former reporter from D.C., Ca. and Atlanta said in an article today that the media is giving more air time and print space to Obama unfairly.

The reporter had attended a Democratic dinner/rally in Atlanta where Clinton spoke, the NPR reported on a small group of Obama supporters who cheered but no mention of at least 1,000 Hillary supporters chanting "Hillary Hillary" when she entered the convention center.

The media gave Obama more air time. The reporter stated he is sick and tired of how the media is pushing Obama and ignoring or distorting Clinton message...has got to stop.

Case in point, CNN Hulk/Obama

I can just imagine your CNN commentators "objective" analysis tonight after the debates.....especially Martin.....lol

I think a Clinton nomination will definitely cost the democrats the white house, and give the republicans 4 more years.

The reasons are simple –
Republicans and lots of democrats and independents cannot stand the Hillary Clinton. She appears too power-eager, over-ambitious, deceitful, calculating, and divisive.

Some of them also are tired of this Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton partisan politics that it is becoming sickening.

The scandals and baggage of the Clintons is too much, and it should be expected considering their political lifestyle.

Bill Clinton's immorality and lack of decency and family values is terrible for the image of a president, co-president or presidential spouse.

Hillary Clinton is not likeable and lacks sense of humor.

McCain is very likeable and many democrats really like him.

A strong third-party candidate will take lots of democrats from the Clintons.

Come November, we will see. 4 more years for the Republicans !!

This is becoming more and more ridiculous journalism. Hulk Hogan supports Obama. What a national headline. I dont think Hillary Clinton WANTS support from a 70 year old meathead.
