Hulk Hogan backs Barack Obama

(CNN) - Until this week, it looked like Republicans might have a lock on the famous tough guy demographic this year: Mike Huckabee has hit the campaign trail with martial arts star Chuck Norris and WWE star Ric Flair, and John McCain got the nod of approval from Rambo himself, Sylvester Stallone.

But on Tuesday, as his home state headed to the polls, Florida resident Terry Bollea – ‘Hulk Hogan’ to millions of wrestling fans – announced his own presidential pick: Democrat Barack Obama.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Bollea was asked who he would like to see in the Oval Office. "If I had to step out, and say who I really believe in - that catches my ear, that makes sense, that really can make a change - I would say Obama," he replied.

"Everybody plays this card - the bad guy card, you know the dirty politics thing, talk about the way people dress, act and look - and, he's the choice. He seems like the real deal, you know."

Florida's Democratic vote, which awarded no delegates, went to New York Sen. Hillary Clinton.

    Scott from Oak, MI,

    Shut up.

    CNN,

How long does the public have to endure the Obama Media Love Fest? He can not beat McCain. Plain and simple. No matter how much all of you want it to happen. He is a product. Period.

Great choice. I also think that Barrack is the only choice someone can make. Think about Barrack talking to Fidele Castro. will that not better help the people in Cuba than killing Fidele. Just an Example.

After this election ALL endorsements should be outlawed. Voting for a president is serious business. A nomination should not be swayed by celebrities. Presidents can determine if we go to war, have a job, and what social problems will be addressed. This primary needs better coverage of issues instead of who has who on their team.

The use of the word "boy" to allude to an Afican-American is pretty tasteless if not downright racists.

Please, the media gave a big deal about Hillary being sung to by "Black Elvis" in Arkansas. Can't we take some light hearted stories every now and then. Come America, lighten up a little!!!

    Obama/Edwards 08!

Considering the fact that Wolf Blitzer gave Hillary Clinton, on Tuesday night, more air time than any presidential candidate so far, I would say the media is more in favor to Clinton. And Obama does not persuade celebrities to endorse him-he is simply the best candidate and people are recogizing that. Furthermore, Bill Clinton was also a freshman when he entered the white.

Get back to the real stories! IF you have nothing worthy to report, then DON'T!!! We won't die because you haven't updated your site in the last 10 minutes. I would rather spend time reading real news than stupid stories such as the above.
    So NOT WORTH IT!

I just don't understand why a lot you guys are being so negative about the fact that Hulk Hogan is backing Barack Obama. Hulk Hogan has the constitutional-given right to back any candidate in which he chooses. What makes you think your vote is so much better than his, or that the proposal that Hogan is backing Barack is somehow "not" news? If you ask me, I believe it's newsworthy. If you didn't contest to Hulk Hogan participating in "fake" wrestling for over 40 years, then please don't contest the fact that he is partaking in this political race. You should be happy that he is using his role model presence to even promote politics.

Obama's money is dirty. That's the story the media refuses to cover. I hope Obama does make it to the white house and the American people can see what an idiot he is. I'm ready for "Bush" round 2.

I don't know why people critique people who endorse a candidate. It's that political figure/celebrity chooses who they want to endorse, not vice versa. Just like you have a choice to vote for who you want (i.e. Ron Paul), and its not pathetic that you would go online and endorse your candidate.

I think its agreed that this is obviously not hard news. However, im glad that hulk hogan and some people who watch his show or wwf wrestling who never had an interest in politics before now are getting interested. Every four years when we have the presidentialt election more than half the country elegible to vote doesnt. Obama gives us the opportunity to change that and In my opinion thats a good thing for democrats.
