Obama, Clinton trade ad buys in critical states

Obama is hoping for a big win in Louisiana.

Obama is hoping for a big win in Louisiana.

(CNN) - Barack Obama launched a new ad in Louisiana on Friday, just one day before the state’s Democratic primary.

The Obama campaign’s ad, titled ‘Future,’ pairs images of the Illinois senator and a devastated, post-Katrina New Orleans – gutted homes, an affected man with his child, a shirt that reads ‘Rebuild New Orleans’ – with audio of his inspirational ‘Yes, We Can’ speech.

Earlier this week, the Illinois senator's campaign included a spreadsheet in an e-mail to supporters in which they projected a double-digit win in Louisiana.

“This election is about the past versus the future,” Obama says . “Hard as it may seem, we cannot lose hope.

“There are people all across this great nation who are counting on us. Who cannot afford another four years without health care. They can’t afford another four years without good schools. They can’t afford another four years without decent wages.”

His campaign has also begun airing its Super Bowl spot, ‘Join’ in Wisconsin in advance of the state’s February 19 primary.

On Friday, on a conference call reporting a massive new fundraising haul, Hillary Clinton’s campaign announced that they were airing ads targeting voters in the Potomac primaries, which head to the polls next Tuesday, February 12.

Obama has been running spots in those states since the days before the February 5 Super Tuesday contests.

Clinton also has begun airing a long-running healthcare spot in Washington State, with the addition of endorsements from the state’s two Democratic senators.

Clinton and Obama will go head-to-head in eight Democratic contests in the next four days.

Fact Check: Sen. Obama Follows Hillary's Lead On Gulf Coast Recovery Plan
    2/7/2008 1:03:02 PM

In May, Hillary introduced a comprehensive Gulf Coast Recovery Agenda.

Three months later, in August, Sen. Obama released a very similar proposal.
Today, Sen. Obama "introduced" the same plan he released in August.

How dare he put his photo with the devastations of New Orleans and Louisiana? Where the hell was he when this nightmare occurred? Why didn't he say even a single word or do a single thing to ease the pain of his brothers and sisters in the African American community? I hope now people can see what an opportunist he is!!!! When is this guy going to run out of hot air to feed the gullable people of America?

Obama and Clinton need to end the war between them and settle on the only ticket that can defeat McCain – Obama/Clinton.

All Hillary supporters should go to Factcheck.org to see what a great, honest candidate she really is. Hillary sent out mailers in key states before Super Tuesday which painted a false picture of Obama's proposals, twisted his words, and outright lied. Check it out for yourself. Of course, no one wants the truth, just more of the same old behind the scenes maneuvering.

The funny thing is that Obama didn't even write his own "yes, we can" speech that is getting so much attention. He is the only candidate that uses a teleprompter and a group of speech writers when he speaks. I prefer a candidate that has enough knowledge on the issues to speak from the head and the heart.

The queen of self reinvention: Bilary is remaking herself as the under dog. What does that mean?

She is framing herself as the anti establishment campaign, because one of her rich cash cows asked the to take the money over the internet because he has reached his max.

He advised her to reframe herself as an underdog, so people will feel sorry for her and give. That's when her campaign money comes in. She then makes a loan to herself saying that she is broke. Poor hilary. Everyone runs to the internet and gives generously to "poor" bilary.

I still remember the tears all the 2 times of manufactured distress. She is still at it, manufacturing broke to gain sympathy.

There is one thing I learned form seing Bilary on the campaign trail. She is a comedian. She is a liar, and she will do anything, say anything to fool the american people.

She tricked thousands of hispanic voters to vote for her because they don't know much about english. Seing her cry was all they needed to fall for her.

As an american, I am insulted, ashamed and frankly, if she wins, I will stay home. I don't like anyone insulting my intelligence.

I voted for her before. However, since the tears and all those lies about Obama, I found out that she had me too. She will never trick me again.

“There are people all across this great nation who are counting on us. Who cannot afford another four years without health care. They can’t afford another four years without good schools. They can’t afford another four years without decent wages.”

That will be true four years from now, too. I really want to support the Democrats, but they just sicken me with their lies every year, so it's looking like I'll stick with Ron Paul regardless of whether he wins the Republican nomination.

It's the great music before the speech that makes you buy it. That's why they play
it while you're shopping. He didn't win the really big states with the really big
electoral college votes. If you can't win them you can't win the presidency.
CHANGE? G.W.promised us change. How's THAT change working for you?
It is said the first casualty of war is the truth. Politics IS war!
REALITY FIRST PEOPLE! Clintons have a track record of beating republicans.
    Enough said.

Pmet, did you conveniently miss the other story on Factcheck.org that showed how the Obama campaign sent out mailers about Hillary's health care plan that painted a false picture of HER proposals, mislead the readers, and outright lied. I guess so. Maybe you should go back and look again.

Obama's mailers twisted Hillary's policy and vision (go factcheck.org).
That is how Obama and his folks tried to do as an underdog. However, people won't fall into that trap.

We need people who stand and on top of issue and have the substance, not just a good talker.

    Vote Hillary.

Universal Health care sounds great, but do we really want the same people that run the IRS running our health care. Lets stray away from government intervention in every aspect of our life

I think we should let the democrats take this election so we can show people again how screwed up they are. I guess shutting down Congress like they have is not enough.

This looks like it will be a glorious ad for Obama and will yield him a very wide-margin victory like he achieved in South Carolina. This is very clever. Obama is really pushing Bill Clinton aside in the areas of charisma, smarts, tactics, and an overall sense of quiet brilliance and an intensity that is charging crowds and voters wherever he sets foot.

For all of you who are against Barack Obama, heed this warning:

    "Touch not God's anointed."

    I'm on board of 2008!

    Go Obama!

I'm a Canadian, and we enjoy what Hillary calls "universal heathcare" My husband almost died last summer and underwent life saving surgery that cost us a grand total of $0.00. Imagine!
We pay about 6.00 each payday for this heathcare. Every Canadian Citizen is covered with Medicare Whetered or not you are employed, working, pensioned no matter what you have full coverage by medicare
You can walk into any doctor's office and day of the week and you pay nothing!
We have separate prescription drug and dental insurance which cost us a whopping $30.00 a month LOL! This $30.00 also guarantees you 80% of your salary should you fall ill and cannot work.
Hillary Clinton studied our medicare system intensively and she knows it can work for the U.S. too. Be smart people your health is your life.. If for no other reason vote for Hillary for health care.
Know what it costs to birth a baby in Canada? $0.00
    Open heart surgery $0.00
    etc etc etc
