Edwards was my choice for President from the start. When he suspended his candidacy I decided on Hillary . I believe she is better qualified than Obama on many levels. Her health care position is more in agreement with Edwards , her work for the poor in this country is also par with Edwards. Obama has the establishment backing him up. The media initially ignored Edwards, forcing him to step down, the media is now ignoring Hillary hoping she'll do the same. Mr. Edwards, please endorse Hillary, do not let big business win. I hope Mr. Gore will also do the same.

Looks like Edwards will endorse Obama.
Which is unfortunate, as Hillary is supported by the poor folks.
She is much more in line with Edwards on social economic issues!
And if Edwards has any credibility left (and is not just making a play for Vice),
he will Endorse Hillary!

Hillary 08!

Every poll indicates that an Obama/Edwards ticket would beat McCain...Clinton/Edwards would be a toss-up !

Both Edwards and Obama will be able to carry some Red/"Fly-over" states which Hillary could not . This is essential if the Dems are to win the Whitehouse !

McCain vs. Clinton is too close to call. Crooked local Republican boards of elections (like Ohio's Ken Blackwell....) could still throw the election to the Republicans if the electoral map looks like the last two presidential elections !

Winning heartland/Red/"fly-over" states is the essential to Democratic victory...

John Edwards could beat McCain....can Obama?

Sen. Obama better enjoy the weekend. While he''s an excellent and charismatic speaker at campaign events.....he will have a tough time delivering the "youth" vote to the polls should he get the Dem nomination.

He will be subjected to attacks in the general election that will make the 2004 "swift-boating" of John Kerry look like childs play.

John Kerry would be President today had Diddy delivered with MTV''s "Vote or Die" in 2004. They stayed home on election day.

The problem with dems is that we are still living in the past with this Iraq war. No one cares anymore about who voted for. People are more concerned with domestic issues like heathcare, the economy, immigration and social security. This is where the dems are failing we are electing a guy who is more foreign policy and less domestic. We are voting for someone because they are a good person with hope and not a good president. This will be our downfall in Nov. Remember that Hillary and McCain are much stronger on domestic issues. Foreign policy is one piece of the puzzle and both Hillary and McCain will be stronger on those issues as well. Dems should use reason when they vote and not vote with our heart. The heart is a very dangerous thing to make a decision with. Think about when you are in love. And you're in love with someone who is a good person (nice guy) not a good partner (doesn't have a job, doesn't know how to manage money etc.). You still keep going back to that person even though your head tells you this person would not be good marriage material. Yet you go ahead with your heart and wind up in a miserabe marriage. This is the same thing that is happening right now right with the Dems. We are not thinking rationally about who can actually solve our problems. We are only concerned with who is a good person and gives us hope. And we aren't being logical and reasonable about who can solve our problems. Dems you should be reasonable. Vote with your head always. Would you allow a doctor with no experience and lack of a concrete plan to operate on you even though they are a good person? No! Then why would you vote for someone to fix the country who has no experience and no substance to run our country!! We have problems in this country that are unreal. Foreign policy is the least our of worries because again Dems are living in the past about that. We are voting for someone because they were against the war. But the war started 6 years ago. We should no longer be focused on this. In reality it will take us many years and at least a few presidencies before we are fully out of Iraq and considering the reconstruction costs. We may be sorry if we pit Obama up against McCain. McCain will easily win out especially when it comes to issues that matter like domestic issues and even foreign policy. People will vote with their heads in the general election. But you know I guess Dems have not learned their lesson since McGovern, Carter and Bush

i think it dosn't matter who he endorses, or who even wins the democratic nomination. I think that most TRUE democrats won't have much of an issue on which of the two come out with that nomination. Both candidates are for uniting the democratic vote, unlike the circus McCain is serving up with the Republicans.

I would think that Edwards would be more inclinded to endorse Obama given most of the time that agree on policy issues. I would like to see that endorsement. I don't think it will happen anytime soon.

As for Edwards being a V.P. selection, it is a possible idea. I doubt hat he would take it now. Someone had previously mentioned attorney general for Edwards; that would be a good possiblity. If he was selected as a possible person to fill an open Supreme Court slot, I could see that as well.

Chico,

You didn't read or follow news enough apparently when Clinton was president. You over estimate how good things were, just because of the economy, which was NOT his doing. Repeat after me.. NOT his doing. It all happened under the first Republican majority in 50 years, as did this surplus Dems take credit for all the time. Clintons= scandal and disgrace. Vote McCain.

Linking Bush and Clinton is like linking Cain and Abel. or saying day follows night means that night and day are the same. Get Real, under the first Clinton Administration we had eight years of peace and prosperity but most Obama backer are too young to remember how it really was, so they parrot right wing big media lies about bad things were. The 90's were great. If peace and prosperity is returning to the past I'm all for it. So keep trashing the Clintons and even if Obama gets the nomination, there won't be party left to support him. Theres always the green party.

I think he should endorse Obama.

Edwards is not one of the "old school" politicos. He has introduced fresh, intelligent ideas - contrary with what traditional politicians like Hillary offer.

And, living in the Philippines, I've seen what damage a vengeful, female president can do. And this is the last thing America needs, having just barely survived 8 years of misrule by an idiot.

4 yrs Bush
8 yrs Clinton
8 yrs Bush
...STOP!!!!

These 2 families have torn this nation apart for 20 years already.
Let's get a new perspective going.
Let's get somebody who doesn't have an agenda in continuing the bipartisan bickering.
Let's get some CHANGE!

We did our part. We the people voted. If there's a split and the superdelegates have to actually do something, such as conduct decision making votes, what's wrong with that? OTherwise, can someone please explain why else there are superdelegates? Is the name "super" just because of their elected position (e.g. senator, governor, etc.)? No, superdelegates are ALSO elected officials entrusted with making decisions for our country and if it does come down to a so-called brokered deal, so what? Superdelegates are, at the end of the day, independent of a nominee--they can switch affiliation. Let them do their job in this extenuating circumstance or else, get rid of them and make them be pledged to a nominee like the unsuperdelegates.

People! Hillary takes money from lobbyist. Does that mean anything to you? When politicians take money from lobbyists, they are obligated to entertain the interests of the lobbyists not the American people.

Be smart, think things through before voting for her. Besides, this election WiILL go to John McCain if she is elected.

My husband is in Iraq. Who are most of the service members hoping for? OBAMA

It's true that they don't need him. They can muck around in the gutter on their own account. All these people that are pleading for Edwards' endorsement on behalf of their candidates should get a life! They ripped off his ideas and now he is supposed to endorse them? Give me a break! Democratic voters get what they deserve from the poor choices they make. Go Obama! Go Hillary! Go get lost!!

John Edwards nor the super delegates should be able to determine the outcome of the Democratic nominee. The PEOPLE of the United States are the voters. Michigan and Florida votes should be counted and since Clinton won they should go to her. No revote as some of the newspeople who are so biased towards Obama want--If those two states get a revote--all states should get a revote after the Rezko/Resko indictment. As a registered Democrat, I will vote Republican in the General Election if it comes down to the super delegates or John Edwards.

I couldn't think of anything more sensible than an Obama/Edwards ticket for the general election. Thus, looking at the already struggling Clinton campaign, an endorsement for Barack Obama would come at just the right time. Admitted, it might achieve a lot when issued just before Ohio and Texas, but a couple of really significant victories in the next couple of days will do the same if not give Obama even more momentum. Looking at all the alternatives out there, there just aren't any if the country truly wants a break from what happened in Washington over the last 20 years.

Hillary's universal healthcare plan is unrealistic. You can't take one of the most profitable industries in the country with tens of thousands of employees and dispose of it. At least Obama is willing to work with the industry in order to get people covered. It's realistic and it's a step in the right direction.

John Edwards made millions of dollars as a trial lawyer suing doctors in unjustified medical malpractice suits, driving up the cost of malpractice insurance and consequently making health care more expensive for everyone.

It would be highly ironic if he ended up being part of a ticket headed by someone promising to promote affordable health care.

I think suggesting Edwards take VP under Obama is an insult. You are asking a seasoned US Senator to take the back seat to a single term US Senator that has spent 2 of the 3 years he has been in the Senate campaigning for President.

If you have really researched and understand the candidates proposed policies you would know Clinton and Edwards are and have been more in line. The biggie being the plan for actual Universal health care.

In the last debate Edwards attended he very clearly asked Obama to explain why his health care plan leaves 15 million people out and why as a US Senator he only voted present on 136 votes. This is huge.

Clinton takes heat for making a decision based on the information she had and her vote. At least she takes a stand and does not play it safe to try and avoid having to be held accountable for her vote. If the options are Yes, No or Present and you do not agree with some language in a proposed bill then vote No. Voting Present was nothing more than trying to save face.

John Edwards is a great man and would best serve this country as Attorney General to continue his great work for equality.

Hillary is clearly the best candidate to stand in the General Election against McCain. How can a person with less than 3 years of US Senate experience going to beat McCain? NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. The Republican are going to chew Obama and spit him out.

HILLARY is the best candidate for the job.

YES WE WILL, HILLARY!

If we want real change in Washington, Edwards (I supported him before switching over to Obama) should give his support to Obama. They have more in common and want to same...REAL CHANGE in Washington.

I believe an Edwards/Obama ticket would be a great for America.

Although I have no problem with having a woman as President (it is time for a change in America), I just believe that Hillary's close connection to and contributions from Corporate America will inhibit her ability to take on the K Street lobbyists and also to take on the Corporations who have a chokehold on democracy that we are experiencing at this time.

I hope Edwards keeps out of this until the convention. I would hope he, as well as the political pundits who have been wrong so many times this year, would give the rest of the country a chance to think for themselves. I'm tired of seeing this constant drum beat for all things Obama. I desperately want to see a Democrat back in the White House, but not this candidate, not this time. He may be pretty and speak a lovely tune, but he's got NO experience to back his image. Not the kind of know-how that is absolutely essential at this point in time. To me, Obama is just the Democratic version of candidate Bush in 2000. Appealing, likeable, but a neophyte. I'm not willing to see another person go into office with a slim resume and expect to learn ON THE FLY how to do the most important, most incredibly complicated job in our country. No matter who the VP is, no matter who the Cabinet will be, the president makes the final decisions, so that individual better have the wisdom and the seasoned insight to decide the fates of all of us and future generations. I just don't have any confidence that Obama is that person. If he gets the nomination, I will be forced to vote for McCain because, even though he's a Republican, he's had the knock-downs, the challenges, the set backs--that Obama hasn't experienced yet--and he's come back every time.

Mary, do you think Hillary would be fighting for you if she had lost both states??? She didn't fight for your votes before the primary did she? Do you really think she would care about your votes is she had a large enough lead in the delegate race to beat Obama without them? Didn't hear her say a word until things stared getting tight. I do think that all voters should be heard, but the delegates were stripped before the primaries started. That was the time to protest. Do you really think it's fair to change the rules after the fact? You should petition to have your state party leaders replaced. They're the ones that screwed you, not the candidates.

The Democrat nomination NEVER GOING TO FINISH if Florida and Michigan vote will be count ! I am Florida Voter and I am feeling very up set about what decision the party will be do about it and have to ve ASAP!
In another hand dear friends I am convence that the Republican Party has been succesfull voting as independents in the Democrat primaries in all center states tradicionally Republicans! They are supporting as independents voter Obama candidate and also with money if you see the astronomic contribution received by him recently.
John Edwards decision in this point will be important and as a woman voter I will be evaluate his decision.
Don't forget that Florida is one of the major state with big electoral vote: 27 and since now our vote NOT COUNT..... NOT WILL BE COUNT on November 4, 2008!

GO HILLARY, VIVA HILLARY!!!!

Do you want to help working Americans or change lobbyist policy? lobbyists will always be in washington, but lets help the working Americans voice ACTUALLY be heard. Edwards please, endorse Clinton, she is the right person to run this country. Senator Clinton has proven herself and will help the people who really make this country run (working Americans) survive and live better!

Hillary is more in keeping with Edward's message. I would hope and certainly do expect that he is not the type to jump on a cult-like bandwagon in favor of an ill-prepared, if change-embracing candidate. Clinton-Edwards, now THERE'S ticket that would crush the GOP come November. And by the way, don't discount Hillary quite yet - I know Obama hasn't.

America's economy is so bad at the moment. You need to choose a candidate to wake up economy (find solutions ...) better than a person just talk change but change what ( from rich to poor, from black to white hehehe) Very funny.
Hillary Clinton is a lady who can find solutions for America's econmy and listen to the people's voice.....
Vote for her now,

This has nothing to do with Edwards Endorsement, but am I the only one who thinks CNN coverage stinks.

I think if FOX is a propaganda news- CNN has become noise. Especially- the biased coverage of Democratic primaries is a final nail in the coffin.

Blitzer reports everything as if its the end of the world, dobbs well he is well documented freak- Ironically, Cooper in vain phrases reporting to make it look unbiased.

Ironically, even after all these years, Larry King is the only tolerable show. At least he brings guests from all spectrums which eventually balances out.

CNN is a reflection of the demise of broadcast journalism in this country.

Well now that Obama's swept the weekend and will most likely do so next week, I'm betting on another sit down and cry session with Hillary. "I just want to do the best thing for my countrym," well in that case you should've voted against the war in Iraq, where hundreds of good men and women have died because if ignorant egotistical views like yours.

To Darrell, it's the other way around. She has brought specific issues with specific solutions. I've only heard him echo her issues, but falls short of specific solutions on his ownl.

I remember last fall whenever Edwards or any other Democratic candidate criticized Hillary (for taking PAC money for example), her campaign invariably fired back a response with this annoying formula: "John Edwards is trying to redirect attention away from his failed campaign and the fact that his message has not been well-received by the voters, as can be seen from any number of polls. Senator Clinton is demonstrating her leadership...". I guess after this weekend, the Clinton camp will have to come up with a less stereotyped response.

Stop it.
Now you Hillary supporters know that from the beginnig Edwards had more in common with Obama and still does. Edwards should and needs to join with Obama. I don't think that Edwards should side with Hillary just because more poor people lean toward her. If this were to occur this would really be a poor excuse in my book and I am poor as well. I think that some poor people side with Hillary because of her husband but if they did the research they will find that during the 1990's more poor people were imprisioned, the welfare reform forced more poor moms to go to work for sub-minimum wage jobs and the daycare/babysitters raised the poor children and lets not forget the poor 800,000 to 1,000,000 Rwandans who died while the world watched.
