Chelsea Clinton campaigned for her mother in California in early February.

(CNN) — As part of the Clinton campaign's declared effort to fight for every delegate in every state, Chelsea Clinton is heading to Hawaii, Barack Obama's home turf, according to a Clinton campaign source. She'll spend three days, including this weekend, campaigning there.

The Clinton campaign has been criticized for not competing in the smaller states and caucuses, but is now trying to adjust their strategy. A campaign source says they are not focused only on Texas and Ohio.

On conference call Wednesday, Clinton staffer Guy Cecil said the campaign would now be hiring staffers and opening field offices in several states with upcoming contests they had not devoted resources to before, including Montana and Wyoming.

Hillary Clinton has been endorsed by Sen. Daniel K. Inouye of Hawaii, and will be doing satellite interviews with Hawaiian TV today.

A campaign source says Chelsea has proven to be an effective campaigner and they see a strong correlation between Chelsea's visits and improved performance.

At this point, says one campaign source, it's a delegate fight, and even narrowing a loss has a huge impact.

This cycle Chelsea campaigned for her mother in California – the first state where Clinton won the youth vote. The rural congressional district where Chelsea campaigned in Nebraska outperformed others in the state. So far this cycle, Chelsea Clinton has campaigned in at least 15 states.

The Clintons think they can just get the African American votes at will. Just pander to Hispanics in Texas, Ohio and Pennnsylvania. Word to the wise Ms. Clinton YOU will need them in NOVEMBER & back in your home state of NY. Run long, but die you must. Your out of money, ideas and trying to change the game in the 9th . YOU WILL LOOSE TEXAS AND OHIO THEN WHAT, will you be BIG enough to call it quits, or will you then turn to SUPERDELEGATES.

The Republicans are good at strategizing, and the 2008 presidential election is for them to lose, by all implications. Therefore, the Republicans will do everything to win. The current momemtum that Obama is enjoying now is beyond any human compresion. It seems as if there is a conspiracy by the right wing led by their notable Karl Rove, to make sure that Obama gets the nomination and then lose to McCain. Hillary is better prepared to lead the country in theses difficult times. She has got the credentials and experience to do the job in this moment. It should be emphasized that McCain is not far from the left, which makes him acceptable to some democrats and independents, and the national security is his strength, which is also that of Hillary's. The economic strength of the Clintons can't be over emphasized. Why can't we all rally around this woman of history and get victory for our party and America? I refer the readers to the headlines and Legends on Hillary Clinton on MSNBC on Saturday, Feb. 9th, 2008. Let us be real and not be fooled. Hillary deserves nothing less than victory.

The difference is when somebody is campaigning for you they have to speak and answer questions on your behalf, otherwise don't bother wasting my time sending her out for a photo op. That is why you are seeing all the people upset with Hillary, she can't expect to send her kid out there and not have to face tough questions by the voters on her mom's or dad's behalf.

It would be an abomanation if we were to change the rules and allow Michigan and Florida to seat delegates at the Convention. Everyone, candidates included, understood and accepted these rules before the campaign began. However, the rules need to be changed regarding the superdelegates. Even though, everyone, including the candidates, knew and understood that if the American voters could not make a clear decision, the superdelegates would be the deciding factor. Come on!!!! How can the Obamaites think they can have it both ways?

R. in San Francisco   February 14th, 2008 7:55 pm ET

I think that HRC has solutions. She actually has plans, not just speeches. And, in fact, Barack Obama seems to think she has good solutions too, because he just unveiled a plan that reads word for word straight from her playbook. It's a nice honor, really.

As to Chelsea, she is a strong, smart, credible woman and I wish her the best.

As to Barack Obama, the fact that he refuses to debate Hillary is telling, as is his insistence that the votes of Michigan and Florida be disenfranchised. He too was on the ballot in Florida, let's not forget! And their population went overwhelmingly for Hillary Clinton.

Bararck Obama's supporters might be the loudest — for now — but that doesn't make them the most plentiful. Let's see how this all plays out.

Mahzel tov, Chelse & Hillary…As a Jew, I have been bemused (but not surprised) by the sexism hurled at Senator Clinton & her family…and I for one, who voted with pride for her here in California, not having voted since Bobby Kennedy was short…and I believe she will prevail against the Elmer Gantry-ism of the glib, pseudo-intellectual, vacuous Uncle Obama, and against the stultifying machinations of the Democratic party 'elite'. Elections have their ups-and-downs…she loses a few, and the 'media' (I won't call television teleprompter readers 'journalists' because they are not) immediately dismisses her campaign. I have read her position papers, and those of Obama (who, lately, has been plagiarizing her ideas), only wishing I could do more for her. Oh, happy Valentine's Day to all the Clinton Family.

2000 – Democrats SCREAM that the candidate with the most votes is overturned by the Supreme Court.

2008 – Democrats now talk about a handful of "superdelegates" overturning a candidate who wins the most delegates by vote of the people, the most states, and the most popular vote?

Is that possible???? I can't believe the party or either candidate will let that happen, unless they have a death wish!!

TerryD   February 14th, 2008 7:32 pm ET

Chelsea every mother in North America wishes they had a daughter as intelligent , confident, respectful, engaging and as tactful as you are on the political path.

Mind you it doesn't hurt to have great parents who adore you and taught you to be the best that you can be.

You are a credit to your parents and America.

When someone tries to degrade you with sexist statements, the hatred and fear is within them, and has nothing to do with you,as you are probably well aware, that they are the one's with psychological problems.

I don't think Chelsea being here is going to help her mom at all – it's Obama territory. I guess they DO have to show face so they don't look like they're snubbing our state.

Also, it must be a slap in the face for her to know that millions would rather have someone with no experience over someone who does.

@Marylin

Do you really think Rush Limbaugh would use such a transparent strategy? Use your brain. There are three possibilities:

1. McCain is inevitable, hence there is no reason to vote for him. Therefore, use your vote to make sure Hillary loses since they hate her so much. She is more vulnerable now than she will be in the general election; Republicans will do ANYTHING to keep her out of the White House.

2. This is a reverse psychology technique to get Hillary to be the Democratic nominee. If Rush says vote Obama, Democrats should vote Clinton, right? However, she will be a weaker opponent in the general election against McCain. Many recent polls corroborate this claim.

3. Oh wait, maybe he's giving his secret strategy to Republicans because they'd rather face Obama in November! This makes so much sense; after all, we know that Obama's ability to draw independents and Republicans, his lack of political baggage, and his lack of the divisive reputation Clinton has will surely lead to a McCain victory in November. And although he's leading in the polls against McCain, he'll somehow be a weaker candidate because….. Give me a break.

rw   February 14th, 2008 6:12 pm ET

Hillary will never get the recognition from the media only the golden boy Obama.

I totally agree when she gets endorsements nothing is said, when she leads in the polls nothing is said. I will say that Obama is not doing this by himself the media is helping BIG TIME, everyone complains about the superdelegates making the decisions but not enough of public is complaining about the media and their golden boy getting all the media coverage. This whole system is corrupt not just political but also the news coverage over the last year. GO SUPERDELEGATES LOVE YA.

Hope is great. We all neeed it. However, we need hope with solutions and concrete plans. Hillary gives us hope and brings solutions.

Obama brings a head full of smoke and great speaches. However in the end they are just speaches. Great motivational speaker. Not a doer.

Hillary motivates, brings hope and gets objectives and goals accomplished.

Hillary 2008!!!!

Nancy in WA   February 14th, 2008 5:48 pm ET

Bob on earth writes:

Yeah, but she did leave her name on the ballot in Michigan and Florida; which indicates that cared more about what the people in those states cared about instead of what the Democratic Party.

I couldn't agree more. This is what i have also been saying. Even though the DNC said their votes (MI, FL) did not count the other candidates did not have to take off their names. Dennis Kuzinski also left his name on as well.

Lisa   February 14th, 2008 5:43 pm ET

Reading these posts about how great Sen. Obama is just astounds me. What is the attraction to this very junior Senator who, by his own admission, can't distinguish between 3 buttons on the Illinois senate floor? What has he done other than ingratiate himself with the powerful Rezko in Chicago? What new ideas has he brought (did you notice his blantant plagarism of Hillary's economic plan? Even Senator McCain's staff is calling it a copy of Hillary's.)

Some day Obama's supporters who are swooning in giddy delight of this cotton-candy candidate named Barack Obama will wake up and they'll feel just like George W. Bush's supporters. Tricked.

If Sen. Obama manipulates the media and the race issue to the extent that he gets the nomination there are THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of life-long Democratics who vote for McCain.

Give Sen. Obama a job succeeding Billy Graham if you want inspiration but elect the PERSON with the best qualifications and skills to do the job at the White House: HILLARY CLINTON.

S. Shay   February 14th, 2008 5:21 pm ET

Hillary Clinton is dumber than a box of rocks. How is it that everyone in America knows that middle American whites are 100% anti-immigration and by extension, anti-Latinos and yet she goes and specifically targets this group to vote for her? It is no surprise that Obama is gaining in Texas b/c most people will vote for him simply b/c he hasn't placed himself in line to be the President who completely opens our borders and turns a blind eye to illegal immigration, which is certainly what Clinton is setting herself up to do by allying herself with a group of people who would love for the rest of their generation to join us in American, legally or illegally.

HIllary Clinton is dumb.

Obama's speeches remind me of a certain preacher. "Follow me to the promised land". I don't think he has substance-it's all preaching. I have my confidence in Hillary Clinton who knows what she is talking about and can come to the point quickly without giving a "sermon" to fill in the gaps .

LOL! It just cracks me up to hear the Hillary supporters say that if Hillary doesn't get the nomination, they're voting for McCain! This response, if nothing else, is evidence that the un-educated people are voting for Hillary. It makes no sense to vote for McCain if you truly believe in Hillary's platform. These people are simply mimicking what they hear other people say as far as if Obama doesn't get the nomination, then they'll vote for McCain. Let me explain people: the people who say they'll vote McCain if Obama doesn't get the nomination are either Independents or Republicans. Those are people that are willing to swich parties to support Obama but if he doesn't get it, they're going back to their party or going somewhere else.

For the Obama supporters that say they won't vote for Hillary if Obama doesn't get the nomination, they're saying that because they are sick of Hillary and the Clintons and what they stand for. For the people that dislike Obama on this blog, it is astonishingly clear that they haven't even taken the time to get to know him or what he stands for.

More evidence of why we really need to fix the education system in this country!

j.r.   February 14th, 2008 3:41 pm ET

Ok, lest sit back and take a look at this, Obama support mostly comes from the youth of the country…I'm fine with that. I think I'ts great they are finaly paying attention. However, with all the hate spewed messages on here, any myself, giving birth to age group that is supporting Obama. I have to stop and wonder what did us parents do wrong???? Why are our children so hateful and hurtful, and down right mean and nasty. I have 5 children between the ages of 35 and 23, and if I find out one of them have been on here spouting the hate for another person they don't know, they will hear it loud and clear from me.

Where are your manners kids? Does your parents know you are talking so mean about another person. I person you have not met. A person you spew hateful, hurtful words just becase they have a different view than you? Is this the "change" – "hope" – "our time has come" you have been taught?

Thanks, but I'll vote for the other side.

The people of Texas, especially the Latinos should open their eyes and see that Hillary is there for their votes. At first she was all for helping African Americans becuase Bill Clinton was there candidate. But now she is all about the Latinos. She is now an honorary Latino. Until she get their votes!!! And then it is go back to Mexico. Texas don't be fooled!!! She can care less about Ohio and PA. Obama is for everyone. If she loses Texas, PA, and Ohio, she will say the same thing. They really didn't count anyway. It's the super delegates she is counting on. It wasn't really Texas.

It's okay for Replublican girls to party till it's 2025, but Democrats raise their kids to think of others. I really admired Amy Carter for her activism, and even going to jail for her beliefs. What did the Bush girls do–got ticketed for underage drinking. So when Chelsea decides to come out into the public arena and spread her wings, what is it for–Hillary. It's okay to support your mom, but what else do you believe in? With 911, Katrina, etc., this is the first time she's coming out, and actually speaking. I didn't know she had a voice.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree–Clintons are self-serving to end.

So, despite all her planning and her experience (longevity), she starts losing in the smaller states where she didn't set up shop? Well, HRC, you validated the 50 state primary. Nevertheless, her Plan B is to have Chelsea campaign for her? Seriously? I'm a little concerned that her campaign didn't bother with the voters in the small state primaries.

Brandi   February 14th, 2008 3:34 pm ET

Wow… I am still amazed at the biased messages that CNN and every other media organization continues to try to shove down my throat. Hillary was leading in delegates, whether by a few or by more, up until this week and she was NEVER considered to be ahead of Obama, much less called a frontrunner. Well now that Obama has inched his way past her in the delegate race, which is the same place she had been before, he is the frontrunner? Hillary can't catch up? I mean really!!!!

Republican Roy   February 14th, 2008 3:32 pm ET

Curliss; "Obama hasn't won a state that matters…every state he has won, is traditional won by a republican in a general election. Hillary on the otherhand has won all states (where most people live) that matter. It says something…dont you think ?"

Curliss…I would only ask you to take a look at the states and electorate count that has been won by Barak. The way the whole country sees it is that Barak has a consistant winning margin, wouldn't you say? To say that Barak has won states that don't matter is just stupid! half our country has endorsed him. It's so funny to me to see Billary followers try and dismiss Barak as a legitimate front runner for the democrated party. YOU DON'T HAVE TO LIKE IT BUT YOU WILL HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT!

Marylin   February 14th, 2008 3:32 pm ET

Rush Limbaugh just came out of the closet today and, as his show was ending, openly and blatently encouraged conservatives to vote for Obama. The strategy is now very clear. The Republicans see Obama as the more vulnerable candidate in the general election. We saw this happening in Virginia. Republicans who would never, under any circumstances, vote for a Democrat, were asking for the Democratic ballot on Tuesday. The game is now quite clear.

Marge   February 14th, 2008 3:32 pm ET

Senator Clinton is not using her family , Her husband and daughter have every right to speak out and campaign for her just like any other candidate. You all don't get the picture, Chelsea is not a high school kid anymore, she is a very bright young lady doing what any daughter would do for any other candidate running for President..shame on you people for your reactions.
Senator Clinton is having a great campaign, Obama is the underdog here. He talks the talk but will not walk the walk. Money talks, while Oprah backs him, we all need to remember she has "big" money…….most of us Americans are the small voice of this country, we need our country back. We don't have the money to throw away, like Oprah does. I don't feel Obama is ready to take the responsbilty of running the country. He does not have a tish of the experience that Senator Clinton has. We need her to make things right again. She is smart and tough and will straighten out this mess we are in. Obama has no credentials as Senator, the Americans need to select a qualified person, we need change with Hillary Clinton.
Be there for Senator Clinton, Texas and Wisconsin…………show the American people what states have character and good sense!!!
Be a part of taking our country to a much better place to live with Hillary Clinton as our leader.

Bill   February 14th, 2008 3:30 pm ET

Holly, Kansas City, MO either you support Obama or you’re a Republican, not much difference either way

Jane   February 14th, 2008 3:30 pm ET

Glad to hear Chelsea is helping out in Hawaii.

The reasons the Clinton campaign lost out on the smaller states were mainly because they were not vey forward thinking in terms of the internet and the youth vote. Let’s not forget she won the majority of big states which are critical to winning the general election and which reflects a wide cross section of the general population.

Her staff should have had a better ground operation to get the stadiums filled with young people and then make her excellent speeches regarding their future, the economy, healthcare and education—and we all know her legendary commitment to health care—a process she first tackled before any president did. A packed stadium of young people makes for great TV and resonates with the general population. This is what Obama’s campaign has done very well and he still manages to be much aligned to the older Democratic establishment (the status quo) although he would like us believe he would have nothing to do with them. His latest recruit—David Wilhelm, a super delegate who undoubtedly will play a role to lobby other super delegates to vote for him.

The negative name calling and hate speech spewed above will definitely split the Democratic Party and guarantee a John McCain win in November.

If you don't know what Hillary has done for the last 35 years then you haven't even looked it up. She has initiated, promoted, and sponsored numerous programs for children, families, veterans, workers, and women. Here is a few:

Health care programs for children, families, veterans, and 9/11 workers

Education programs for children, families, mandatory public education for special needs children, and programs for pre-k, after school, and day care

Programs for orphans, abused and neglected children, and battered women

Programs to support and promote equal rights, equal pay, and equal opportunities for women

I am not voting against anyone. I am voting for Hillary because of all the good work she has already done and all the good work she will continue to do as president.

Chelsea is a 27 year old adult who has volunteered to campaign, and as such, she gets to set the boundaries and ground rules for what she will or will not do on the campaign trail.

The sexist comments about Chelsea (or any other woman) are just typical of the misogynistic main stream media and all the other woman-haters out there. Everyone who is not a woman-hater should find those types of comments totally unacceptable.

Go Chelsea!!!!!

Go Hillary!!!!!!

david   February 14th, 2008 3:27 pm ET

Wow. Quite a contrast between Chelsea and Bush's girls, huh? Of course parenting could never have anything to do with that.

Tears and Smears   February 14th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

James from Houston, can you also imagine the scandals, the affairs, the suicides, the lies, the excuses, the arrogance and yes, the utter inevitabilty of Chelsea.

You can just picture her finger pointing, lip biting, lamp throwing tantrums when she speaks about the "vast right-wing conpiracy", oops, she is not allowed to answer questions.

I believe you would have to add in some of Web Hubbells traits as well as rumor and side by side photos make it possible……….

donna johnson   February 14th, 2008 3:22 pm ET

why are the clintons trying to devote time the smaller states now that she is behind in the delegate count.and why doesn't hillary go to some of these smaller states herself and campaign. her campaign is one of if you are not a large state or a large person in her eyesight she doesn't see you and she is going to be that same way if she is elected president

Virginia voter   February 14th, 2008 3:20 pm ET

For all of you people whining about Bill and Chelsea campaigning for Hillary, what do you think Michelle Obama is doing–sitting at home in her pajamas?? She's on the trail making appearances for Obama just like Bill and Chelsea! Wake up!

Siby   February 14th, 2008 3:17 pm ET

Obama !!! u are a great orator…. granted.! but what have u really done? tell u what…. work in the senate for a few years and come back great one!!! we will still be here and u are young. Let hillary and Bill do some real stuff while u learn and earn ur place.

Hillary has the best solutions for America

Hillary 08!

There was the whole Lincoln bedroom thing, the Chinese campaign contributions ,the presidential pardons and of course the impeachment and purjury. I will be the first to admit that many of these scandals were fueled by Republicans but for pete's sake do you honestly think the Repubs are going to forgive and forget if she gets the nomination or somehow becomes President????

uGH   February 14th, 2008 3:02 pm ET

simple, Obama 08′

I will never vote for anyone who helped get us into that nasty war in iraq.
Neither her or her daughter will be able to sway this vote.

Obama 08

Paula   February 14th, 2008 3:01 pm ET

Some people get upset when young people vote for Obama because "they don't know what they want." Well since the older generation screwed the Presidency up with their last two decisions (the same dumb one!), it's about time for us to have a say in this and move America out of this rut.

Karen from Minnesota   February 14th, 2008 2:58 pm ET

Asare: you're spreading false info. Chelsea talks but does not talk to the press. The girl was part of the press for Scolastic magazine.

Carmen,

I thought Hillary campaign organizers were ordinary Americans too. They have the right to comment as they please too!

Holly, Kansas City, MO   February 14th, 2008 2:53 pm ET

Am I the only one who finds Chelsea really annoying? She and I are roughly the same age, and I remember even when the Clintons first entered the White House… something about Chelsea really irritated me. It still does.

James, Houston   February 14th, 2008 2:53 pm ET

Can you imagine the "Brain Power" of Chelsea with parents like Bill and Hillary Clinton ? I say it's FANTASTIC; America can hardly sit still. Talk about change for the Future, Its here now waiting on the harvest season! You Go Girl!

Obama Supporter   February 14th, 2008 2:51 pm ET

Is it just me, or have the Clinton supporters found a way to spawn?

It's funny how Obama is winning, with substantial margins, but you wouldn't know that by looking at these blogs, would you?

Hillary will NOT win Obama's home land, this is Chelsea's vacation, duh!

Sara   February 14th, 2008 2:50 pm ET

Clintons, please go away.

Eli   February 14th, 2008 2:48 pm ET

Go Chelsea, as a daughter she has all rights to be out for her mom. To believe what some of these posters say they would not get out on the beat for their own parents are brother or even wife, since they think BiIl Clinton should not be out for his wife. Its okay for Michelle Obama and Oprah, a woman millions see and love everyday, to stomp for their spouse and friend. What a double standard, I just hope that America sees this before it is to late, because this is not a way to run the WHITE HOUSE. Obama supporters have posted some of the worst comments and blogs, you only have to scan them to see that they are not following their leader,Obama on his dream of UNITY, CHANGE and HOPE they are instead DIVIDERS. I am ashame to say that the DEMOCRATIC party is split and I can only hope we can unite before November.

HG   February 14th, 2008 2:46 pm ET

I am just about the same age as Chelsea, and as someone over the age of majority, I can deceide for myself whether I want to campaign for my mom or not. I'm sure that it was Chelsea's decision, and if she did not want to, Hillary wouldn't force her to. It's also common sense that not the candidates can't visit every state. If Oprah and other Hollywood stars can campaign for Obama, why can't Chelsea campaign for her mom?

Another thing, people want to hear from the candidates themselves regarding their stand on the issues. Obama supporters are always saying, "go to his website – it's all there – the details". Why can't Obama speak about it himself? Is that why he does not want to go into the challenged debates?

I liked the one who wrote about the credible resume bit – "I am the change you seek", "Yes, I can!" LOL

Boniba   February 14th, 2008 2:45 pm ET

Wake up America!!! Didn't President Bush claimed to be the one to unite America eight years ago. And didn't he also claim to have a record in Texas as one who brings democrats and republicans together. And what do we have now.? Obama is all talk and no substance. We need action!!!! No more sweet talks!!!!

Dawn   February 14th, 2008 2:44 pm ET

Chelsea you are the best. If Oprah can campaign for Obama ,why not you for your mom, I LOVE HILLARY> Go Chelsea

IS THIS COUNTRY A MONARCHY?! TWENTY YEARS of White House occupation by either a Bush or a Clinton and now people are desperate to continue that…some for 16 years with Chelsea?! WAKE UP PEOPLE!!

I dread the day when I will tell my children about how things "used to be", when the country was still a democracy…

ABC – Anybody But Clinton, now and forever!

Even if Bill comes out here, there's no way that Hillary will find her mojo. She's a total wipe out. Obama is our man!

Zahid   February 14th, 2008 2:43 pm ET

How strange!! Grow up people. Other candidates' spouses, children can campaign for them. Some of you see problem when Chelsea campaigns for her mother. Give them a break. There is nothing wrong with Kerry calling that college student (super delegate), but you see a problem whne Chelsea meets student of her generation. Both are students. Of course, she can meet him, in my opinion. Chelsea is a very wonderful girl. Never heard anything bad about her behavior or attitude like some others. I wonder why Hillary does not campaign in small states like HI, VT and RI. I have not clue why she is not paying much attention in WI.
Hillary rocks! She should keep up the fight. It is worth to fight up to the finish line.

Diana Garcia   February 14th, 2008 2:41 pm ET

Carmen   February 14th, 2008 2:38 pm ET

This blog has been saturated with Hillary campaign organizers posing as ordinary Americans. The campaign rhetoric is too transparent. I've been reading these blogs for some time now and am seeing the difference in the responses.

Hillary and her campaign will DO ANYTHING to get elected. Doesn't matter though, the American people are waking up and our voices will be heard.

VoteForSubstance   February 14th, 2008 2:38 pm ET

And Chelsea doesn't need your criticism. She loves and admires her mom. Isn't this something we want in our daughters? She doesn't deserve any of your negativity.

I say, Good-bye to Hillary's quest for the Presidency. Too little too late for my liking.

Ann   February 14th, 2008 2:35 pm ET

Finally! The campaign seems to be taking off. I think a huge problem has been that perhaps she did not have the quality of staffers throughout the nation who were aggressive, motivated, and dynamic. Also, am thrilled that Chelsea is out there helping out. She is delightful and should've been more present in the beginning. I still don't see the press covering her. She needs to be on TV. How about getting her on Larry King Live or some of the regular talk shows. People would listen. She also needs to be on MTV and any other youth oriented show. She needs to be cloned!

Nate   February 14th, 2008 2:34 pm ET

Aloha means hello…
and GOODBYE.

Aloha Hillary.

Mahalo Obama!
For waking the sleeping giant…..
THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!

If every state counts, then Hillary is not treating them as equal. When she loose, she does not remember to thank at least those that cared enough to vote for her. Now, her campaign is copying everystep the Obama team are taking. Who has the experience? It is not how far, it is how well.

Independent for OBAMA   February 14th, 2008 2:30 pm ET

Micjhelle in Des Moines   February 14th, 2008 2:30 pm ET

Gee the Clinton's send their child to Hawaii, while McCain's son just came home from Iraq. Speaks volumes to the character of the Clinton's and to McCain. McCain is a hero, and I thank him and his son for keeping us safe and serving. Who cares what the child of political privilege does, bet she never had to worry where her college money was coming from. it came from us the American tax payers. Please don't run stories on her she is so unimportant in this race, and quite frankly uninteresting.

Carol   February 14th, 2008 2:30 pm ET

For those of you bent on demeaning a special young lady like Chelsea Clinton, have you ever heard of taking time off from your job without pay?

Have you ever heard of honoring your father and mother? Have you ever thought to honor your own parents by sacrificing something for them? I think not, otherwise you wouldn't be making such critical remarks about a beautiful young lady who honors her mother. Just shows what sort of folks are going for Obama. I'm glad I'm not in your camp!

By the way, you better be asking yourself what's left once this cheerleader stops his sermons. What changes if he doesn't have the "old established congress" with him? Also, aren't Ted Kennedy and John Kerry part of the "old establishment?" How naive you people are.

You don't know anything about this man. In small group sessions he is rude, fumbles for answers, etc. You better watch who you are supporting — think what you will look like a year from now when you are sorry for the choice you made. Use your intelligence.

Independent Observer   February 14th, 2008 2:28 pm ET

35 years of experience and Hillary could not figure out how to plan an all inclusive campaign!! Look at the Obama people well organized from Alaska to South Carolina, dotting their i's and crossing their t's, while on the other hand you have a sloppy Clinton organization that features a finger wagging Bill in South Carolina or a clueless Chelsea in Hawai. When the campaign moves from west to east they replace a Latino with a black depending who is next to be pandered to.
"Give me a major break" this whole Hilary has experience thing is a "fairy tale", can anyone one of you ever claim your husbands experience in your resume?

Amazing that a so called feminists would run on the experience of slick Willy. Whatever happened to respect for women who have made giant strides on their on self effort as opposed to their husbands names. Remove the Clinton name and how many of you know Hillary Rodham? Maybe someday we will get another Ann Richards or even the likes of Napolitano or Sebelius to make an independent run for the white house on account of their own achievement not because some feminists want to blackmail America with their agenda. I will vote for Nancy Pelosi before Hillary and her manipulating ways.

The democrats can either give us Obama or be ready for president McCain.

Robert   February 14th, 2008 2:26 pm ET

Chelsea is now fair game for discussion. Mommy can't keep the people from criticizing you now.

JohnS   February 14th, 2008 2:25 pm ET

Someone asked:

I thought Chelsea said she doesn't campaign by talking but just shaking hands. I remember in Iowa, a young girl asked Chelsea a question and she replied to the girl that she doesn't talk. What happened?

Here is the answer:

All the Clintons lie, even regarding little matters!!! This nation should stay away from them. Some of us had regrets that Hillary ever had the gots to move from the Republican camp to the Dem camp!! She should go back to wher she started out hre political career.

Andy   February 14th, 2008 2:25 pm ET

You're very important Hawaii.

She's sending her daughter to say hi.

By the way, have you guys all read the email about how the wives of NFL QBs are qualified to be QBs because they hung out with the team and went to many practices, ect.

Funny, ironic, and funny!

Will Gainesville, FL   February 14th, 2008 2:23 pm ET

Hillary Clinton failed to plan for her campaign adequately. She had no ground operation in half the states that voted on Super Tuesday…Why should we elect someone to be President if they don't even have the knowledge or intuition necessary to know what it takes to run a political campaign?

At first, I felt sorry for Hillary Clinton. Not anymore. Now I simply feel angry that we are even considering someone as unqualified and arrogant as her.

Yes, I want a female president one day. But today is not the day. We will have to wait until we have someone who is "Ready on day one" , which Hillary Clinton is obviously NOT.

BobW Rochester, NY   February 14th, 2008 2:22 pm ET

Hillary failed to raise enough money to campaign in all the states? Now that's some new spin. Obama can afford to campaign in those states, why can't Hillary? Nobody capped the amount of money she could raise. To use an arguement that Clinton ignored certain states because of a lack of resources is at best disingenuous. At worse, it's an admission that her values, background and experience wasn't enough to appeal to donors.

Myrna   February 14th, 2008 2:11 pm ET

I am really concerned about parents making their kids campaign on their behalf. Chelsea should be in College or University pursuing higher studies, seek truth, sort out priorities and chart out her life, instead of mingling with Clinton mob, make token speech and seek votes. I hope she sets her goals and aims high. Wish her the best.

all you women who are voting for Hillary because she is a woman are so foolish! she is not a woman who got to this position on her own. she is still married to a lying, cheating man who she chose to stay with for political gain – not for any other reason. yeah, i am sure chelsea got quite an education in that house! if, and I mean a strong if, she gets on the democratic ticket against McCain, I hope every man and intelligent woman votes republican – I would rather see an old-war monger in office than Hillary Clinton! You Hillary supporters are just plain ignorant fools. You have drank the Clinton Kool Aid and will turn a blind eye to all the facts about Queen Hillary and her Court Jester Bill, and now her Maiden-in-Training Chelsea.

I for one am sick of the Clintons; sick of 'all promise, no delivery'; sick of the divisiveness; sick of the pandering; sick of everything they are about.

The country needs new blood, new life, new hope. Not more of the same 1990's "let the good times roll, even if the fundamentals are crumbling beneath us" mentality. We need help and vision, not a Clinton monarchy. And we certainly do NOT need large lobbying interests putting their queen in the White House and then extracting their paybacks (out of yours and my paychecks, mind you…).

BCNU purple state, usa   February 14th, 2008 2:05 pm ET

I just heard a sound bite on local radio of Senator Clinton telling a crowd that "My opponent doesn't have any experience creating jobs…"

Please enlighten us Hill, when have you ever created a job for someone? Other than campaign managers (which your opponent has also done…and might I add, met payroll while they were in his employ unlike you) she hasn't. In fact, she's been instrumental in supporting policies that have shipped jobs out of the country.

Unfortunately, the majority of her supporters are dolts that will just believe what she says and not do the math.

marion   February 14th, 2008 2:02 pm ET

People should take a good look here between Hillary Clinton and Obama. With all the problems this country has at this time, Hillary is the only person with a plan better than Bill Clinton's to get the economy back on track. Everyone wants to get on the popular band wagon without looking at qualifications and actual hard work. Hillary is the only candidate that is smart enough to get the country back on track.

Yoanda   February 14th, 2008 2:02 pm ET

Billary did not take her name of the ballots in MI & FL becasue she did not think she would need the delegates becasue she had the election in the bag………wrong!

Now she want the delegates to count…..this is an example of what 35 years of experience will get you……cheater!!

Julia from Georgia   February 14th, 2008 2:02 pm ET

2. SHE WAS RIGHT NOT TO APOLOGIZE FOR THAT VOTE
3. SHE WAS RIGHT TO VOTE WITH BUSH ON IRAN
HER JUDGEMENT IS JUST " RIGHT- ON"

Cuacus = Peer pressure fest!   February 14th, 2008 2:01 pm ET

You hit it on the head Suzyn: "Solutions, not promises!" Promises is what GW Bush ran on in 2000, and guess how many of those promises came to fruition. ZERO! Can this country really afford another leader who doesn't deliver. We need a leader who gets things done. Obama is not that person. Go check for yourselves, and I mean not what he's done in his ginourmous 1yr as a US senator; and, not opposing the war in iraq as not a member of congress… hell I opposed the war, be then again I didn't have the info a U.S. Senetor is privy too now did I ( neither did Obama).

Heather Peterson   February 14th, 2008 2:01 pm ET

How can one campaign, yet refuse to do interviews with the press? This seems highly incongruent. I realize that a politician's family often campaigns for him or her; however, those family members do not barricade themselves from the press. Campaigning=doing press.

I gotta say that Clinton family is powerful man! They're everywhere for crying out loud. But you know what? At least Hillary is trying no matter what but of course is her daughter helping her. But at least she wants to "try" to say the least. And to be honest guys, EVERY state counts, why? Because everyone wants to have a say…….

I gotta say having "solutions" is better than having "promises". But do you know what "solutions" means compare to my boys "promises"???? They're all the same and solutions is what I have heard these last 8 years, not promises.

But you can't go wrong with either one though. Each one represents a whole different ideology and approach. But when someone has solutions that means they got the answers but when someone says they have the answers(or promises), they have solutions…..

I don't know, a promise to me is the same as a solution but in a different context. How??? Solutions talk too much while promises are made………………but overall, is still the same though. And you know what? These last 8 years all I hear was solutions not promises and I do want to see something different, not the same.

But you're trying Hillary, you're trying. Keep it up girl, keep it up!

Why is it when Hillary was ahead of the delegate count, the media dubbed them as "neck and neck"? And now that Obama is ahead he's the "front runner"? Apparently, nothing scares people more than an extremely intelligent lady president. She is bound to outdo all her predecessors. Hillary is more qualified and everybody knows it! Stop the media bias, please.

Liz   February 14th, 2008 1:48 pm ET

Why is CNN not showing that Clinton is leading in both Ohio and Pennsylvania. The leads are quite big but we are not hearing anything about them. I suppose that will too much positive news for Clinton because everything I read on her is so negative. If Obama had been leading it would be top news. Why don't CNN gave a fair share of postive news for Clinton. Stop being so biased.

Go Clinton go. I am with you 100%.

Brenda   February 14th, 2008 1:48 pm ET

I'm tired of Hillary rats misspelling and insulting Obama people on these boards. Next time you are at the Wal-Mart shopping pick up a dictionary BEFORE going to the Dunkin Donuts. Keep your insults to the people who are for the candidates to yourselves. You are free to insult the candidates e.g. Hillary can't keep that dog Bill on a leash, Chelsea is a poor speaker, etc., etc. BUT, lay-off of people who don't agree with you personally. I HATE HILLARY and BILL; but that does NOT give you the right to insult me personally. I could say you are blue-collar hillbillies. I grew -up in NW Pennsylvania, and had the pleasure of you fine folks from Eastern Ohio visiting for vacation. I know the hillbilly-hootenanny all too well. Keep it to yourselves.

Obomabots for Promises.

Hillary '08!

Kelly   February 14th, 2008 1:46 pm ET

A year ago, I was purely for Hillary. In the fall, I saw the inspiration in Obama. For awhile, I, like most Americans, teetered on both and thought either one will great for this country. Then, I started listening further. Behind every Clinton speech I found substance, behind every Obama speech, I found pure rhetoric. I am young, I am idealistic, I am higher-educated, according to the media, I am for Obama. At this point, if Obama is the nominee, the only reason I would vote for him is for the SCOTUS nomination that is inevitable. His wife, his team, his supporters all resonate with hypocritical negativity. The posts from Obama supporters are nasty, his wife is quite rude (and I really wanted to like her), and his speeches are meaningless. Make no mistake, if Obama wins, it will only be because of the media bias. He is negative ALL THE TIME. No critics to respond to that, but the moment Hillarys "goes negative" is reaches headlines. Obama is more of the same. Hillary might be as well, but she does not proclaim to be 'holier than thou". Obama does. Please undecided voters, really do your research. It's hard in the land of Obama, but if you do not do it now, say Goodbye to the Whitehouse in November and hello 100 years of Iraq and another Scalito in SCOTUS.

For some people, if Chelsea and Bill Clinton do not compaign for Hillary, they'd say that even her own family do not support her. If they do compaign for her, they'd say she cares about her own ambition more than her daughter. This is amazing world!

America wake up!!!!!!

The Clinton campaign is coming to their senses. I guess the shake up counted for something. The new staff obviously realize this is not 1992 and won't continue to get their head handed to them.

They turned off alot of voters including myself. At the beginning of the year she had a chance to get my vote. But I've already made my decision. Chelsea is getting on the job training. Welcome to politics.

Nicole   February 14th, 2008 1:31 pm ET

It's so funny the Obamabots were already claiming victory where in fact the race just barely past the halfway mark. The winner needs about 2,000 delegates to win so it's still a long way to go folks. And the horizon looks good for Hillary- possible win in TX, OH and PA. She's also making some grounds in Wisconsin and Hawaii. Watch out Obama, here she comes!

I'm donating again my grocery money for Hillary.

Danielle   February 14th, 2008 1:31 pm ET

Go Chelsea, your mom will make a great President.

California Independent   February 14th, 2008 1:27 pm ET

Why do writers express hatred for Clinton along with adoration for Obama then claim they are undecided? It's just weird. It's no wonder I left the Democratic Party. If I can't get a third party, I'll gladly vote Republican. Democrat supporters are too snipy and whiny.

observer#1   February 14th, 2008 1:27 pm ET

This young woman has every right to camoaign for her mother , as an American citizen that is everyone's right. The Obama people seem to want to discredit so many rights given to us. Nothing negative said when Obama sent his "ogress" Oprah and Michelle to campaign for him.

Caroline Harrison Ohio   February 14th, 2008 1:27 pm ET

Mrs. Clinton can't run a household, can't run a campaign, can't run the country, period.

I think it's great that she is campaigning for her mom. Maybe someday her mom and dad will be campaigning for her!

We are ready for a woman president! Third world country's have had women leader's. What wrong with the U.S.?

It's Hillary's time right now! Barack should step down and wait eight more years since he's a bit younger than her.

At least Hillary isn't claiming Chelsea is fighting the war on terror by driving around the US in a RV rather than signing up for the army and heading to Iraq like the Mitt did.

Thank you to the Clintons and go HILLARY ! hurray…

Want to comment on Hussein Obama who wouldn't protect USA from the 9/11 threat by choosing to stay "SILENT!?" hell no!
He is far from qualified. Given the situation at the time, we support Hillary's decision and great CHOICE.

We need Hillary's leadership to bring back the prosperous time her husband had delivered!

rabblerouser   February 14th, 2008 1:10 pm ET

Hillary may actually make a comeback if the media (including CNN) doesn't continue to run its biased reports, smearing anything Clinton and idolizing anything Obama.

Despite what the media says or reports, she's getting my vote on March 4th.

Linda   February 14th, 2008 1:09 pm ET

The double standard on all media outlets is deplorable. I completely quit watching MSNBC. They were vicious. So many blogs with negative Obama bloggers. They are more nasty than the media. If Obama is running a 'clean' campaign maybe he should encourage his bloggers to clean up their nastiness. Oh..thats right he doesn't say it, he encourages them to do it!

Obama racist? You bet. He is playing the race card more every speech. His mention of slavery and discrimination when he was born is patronizing. When he was born Hillary was in high school then went on to college as an activist for black and women's right.

She actually fought for her right to be where she is. She was also fighting for the Obama's of the world to have rights.

So when Obama talks of 'progress' he best look at who was at the forefront of the fight.

I remember Rosa Lee Parks as being the leader too. It was her stance that made the break. Women have always lead the way. Women have always united……..well maybe everyone except Ann Coulter…but I doubt her gender, really her species

Mark, Detroit Michigan   February 14th, 2008 1:07 pm ET

Hey Claire, it cuts both ways..supporters of both sides have engaged in a smear campaign to discredit the other candidate. Thing is, you need the support of the losing democratic candidiate to get into the White House.

So all you supporters of a particular candidate, please tell me why I should vote for your candidate. Telling me why I shouldn't vote for the other person where it is not based on facts will have the opposite affect.

I am just getting tired of all that is written to discredit people where the facts don't back it up.

Norman Hsu1   February 14th, 2008 1:07 pm ET

NEWSFLASH——Hillary up in polls!

Okay, yup Clinton supporters, Hillary is up in the polls. That means she's going to win. Nothing for you to do then….go back to sleep, go watch a movie, & take it easy. No more work to do – your candidate will easily win Ohio, texas and Penn. Time to relax now…….

Pete   February 14th, 2008 1:07 pm ET

How does Hillary have 35 years of experience? She has been a Senator for only 6 or 7 years.
Obama has been a Senator for less than 4 years.
Seems to me that they are both inexperienced, however, it appears that Obama has fired up the american people. This is exactly what our country needs, we need to become one again!!!!!!!!!!
So, again, can somebody out there tell me where Hillarys 35 years of experience has come from within Washington DC????????
All of you Hillary supporters better wake up, she is a Clinton and all they want is the "POWER" and "MONEY"

cc, Chicago   February 14th, 2008 1:05 pm ET

I'm an Obama supporter and while I agree Chelsea Clinton campaigning means she's no longer off limits, I see nothing wrong whatsoever in her campaigning for her mother. She loves her mother and believes in her mother's abilities. She's also obviously someone who doesn't relish the public role so I for one applaud her for her loyalty to her mother, and also for her poise on the campaign trail.

WH, Washington, DC   February 14th, 2008 1:05 pm ET

You people with all these negative hateful comments think you're going to unite our country. Give me a break.

Jack   February 14th, 2008 1:04 pm ET

Keep-up the good work Chelsea.

James of VA   February 14th, 2008 1:04 pm ET

I think everyone needs to lay of off Chelsea. She hasn't done anything wrong in supporting her mother.
Yes, she is no longer 'off limits' in so far as she is now a public figure in politcs who can be criticized for her actions. But, she is just a daughter supporting her mother in a bid for the Presidency. We didn't criticize Jeb Bush for supporting George of Bobby Kennedy for supporting JFK as brothers. Why should a daughter–mother be any diffrent?
In other words, don't let the sins of her parents fall upon the child. Hiliary and Bill are what they are, but their daughter seems to be a good person so don't paint her with the same brush as them.

norma   February 14th, 2008 1:03 pm ET

Most of you people who write comments are close to being idiots. To say Chelsea was protected while in the White House and now is campaigning – to say that Hilary decided to go into the smaller states; to say that if Hilary can't visit every city, town and municipality in the entire United States herself without help – what kind of mind are you working with. Think of the one word Obama has used in every speech; his theme song is all about, what else? CHANGE! He's going to change the world; he' going to change your way of thinking in every aspect imaginable; he's going to stop the war; he's going to get you a job; he's going to stop the lobbyists; he's going to lower your taxes. CHANGE IS good for Obama – but Hilary is looked down upon if she changes her pantsuit. THIS IS THE KIND OF STUPIDITY YOU OBAMA-ITES SPEW. Shame on you. Look up the word "change," before you vote! Does "change your mind" count? Or, does Hilary have to swear on a Bible everytime she makes a statement – that she will never, ever, in her lifetime, change one word. Give me a break!

Change??? There is no change!   February 14th, 2008 1:01 pm ET

I hope CNN will post this……..everyone should see that Senator Obama does not have an original thought! This is not progress!

Senator Obama’s Economic Speech in Wisconsin

Those covering Senator Obama’s economic speech in Wisconsin today could be forgiven if it felt like déjà vu all over again. Voters may ask themselves that if Senator Obama cannot produce his own ideas on the campaign trail, how will he solve new problems as President?

Senator Obama’s only "new" ideas were ones that Senator Clinton proposed months ago:

His "new" proposal for a national infrastructure bank is one that Hillary proposed August 8, 2007. ["I’m proud to co-sponsor Senator Dodd and Senator Hagel's National Infrastructure Bank Act that we just introduced to establish a federally-backed independent bank that will evaluate and finance large infrastructure projects by subsidies, loan guarantees, and bonds backed by the full faith and credit of the United States." Rebuilding America speech, 8/8/07; S. 1926, 8/1/07]

His "new" proposal to create 5 million green collar jobs was proposed by Hillary on November 5, 2007. ["And three, to move us from a carbon-based economy to an efficient, green economy by unleashing a wave of private-sector innovation in clean energy and energy efficiency. I believe that will create at least five million good new jobs from clean energy over the next decade." Energy and Climate speech, 11/5/07]

Google CEO Eric Schmidt praises Hillary’s plan to create 5 million Green Collar jobs, 11/5/07: "By emphasizing the connection between promoting a green efficient economy and job creation, Senator Clinton’s plan seeks to harness the power of technology and innovation to address one of our most pressing global challenges…The goal of producing 5 million new jobs can be achieved by private sector investment and bipartisan support for increased research and development in efficiency and clean energy."

In addition, while Senator Obama was busy resuscitating Hillary’s policies, he failed to offer real solutions for the most pressing economic challenges that Americans families face. As Hillary explained this morning, "a plan that fails to provide universal health care, fails to address the housing crisis, and fails to immediately start creating good paying jobs in America again will not turn the economy around and provide the real relief that our people need. We need real results not more rhetoric."

lowland   February 14th, 2008 1:01 pm ET

I have heard her speak and she did awesome. She literally states that she does not want to go into politics but she thought this was an important decision and wanted her mom to win so she MADE the decision to go out and campaign. Why does everyone criticize her. In Iowa she was still not campaigning so she did not take questions. When she came to my school she took questions for over an hour and answered all of them. She stumped for her mom yes but she approached it as a fellow voter….which she is. She was good. Give her some credit when they were in the white house they closed the doors are her because she was a minor. Now she is making her own choice and that choice is to support her mom!

I am so tired of hearing all the morons saying that if superdelegates finally decide the nomination process in favor of Clinton that they will vote republican or abstain from the election.

What they actually mean is if Obama doesn't get the nomination, they will vote republican.

Go ahead! Remember the quote "the people deserve the government they get"? If you cannot unite and stand by the party's superdelegates decision, then you do deserve four more years of failed policies, a burgeoining budget deficit, a failed war and all that comes with it.

Superdelegates were established 26 years ago not only to be the guadians of the faith but as the rest of Willie Brown's statement says "You have superdelegates because this is the Democratic Party. You don't want the bleed-over from the Green Party, the independents and others in deciding who your nominee will be."

To change the rules in the middle of the game is not only unfair but undemocratic as well.

Liugi in CA   February 14th, 2008 12:59 pm ET

If Jesus Christ himself endorsed Clinton, Obama supporters would still bleat like sheep and refuse to see the light.

The man has NO EXPERIENCE and expresses a lot of rhetorical sound and fury, signifying NOTHING.

Wipe the dew from your eyes and look real hard at what and where we are as a nation.

Lang   February 14th, 2008 12:58 pm ET

Can someone please tell me what Obama, who is only in his 40s, do for our country? All I hear is the word change– but what kind, specifically? Change can be anything, and not all changes are good. I have two kids and I wonder what their future would be like under an administration run by him. Also, I am not very impressed with his wife. She seems like a meddling and rude person and not entirely nice, and she looks like she dominates her husband. So what's her role going to be IF Obama gets elected? I don't think she'll be happy just being in the background- she'll probably be the president behind the president. And you guys were complaining about Hillary helping out when Bill was president. Well, it looks like Michelle won't help out- she might want to make the decisions herself!

Hillary can campaign in any State she pleases, or are you afraid she is going to win all the next big States, that he can't win. We are not in VA. & MD. where all the Republicans and independent sabbotage the election by voting for Obama and would never vote for him in the general election. GO HILLARY WE LOVE YOU AND THINK YOU ARE GREAT. KEEP DELIEVERING YOUR MESSAGE AND YOU WILL WIN BECAUSE HE DOESN'T HAVE A MESSAGE, ALL HE WANTS TO DO IS GIVE EVERYTHING AWAY PLUS THE FARM.

Nick   February 14th, 2008 12:57 pm ET

This is not about a women or man.
This is about about true solutions that Hillary Clinton has been speaking from day one, and a lot of empty rhetorical phrases given from senator Obama.
The same thing happened the last election, when so called main stream media shut down the best candidate ( Howard Dean ) and start chearleeding for Kerry, as they are doing from day one for Obama…
…and CNN is a part of this with their "best political team in …."
Please spare us from this….

Hawaii is going solidly for it's native son Barack Obama. The media needs to stop seeing minority groups as monolithic. Just because CA Asian Americans voted mostly for Hillary doesn't mean Hawaii will follow suit. Asian Americans in Hawaii tend to be second or third generation and a large percentage are mixed race. Much different than most immigrant Asian Americans in CA.

Rob:NC   February 14th, 2008 12:50 pm ET

I don't think its terrible to send Chelsea out to campaign so long as she realizes that she is now a public figure and will have to take punches just like her mommy and daddy. But the fact that she's sending Chelsea there means that she has no intention of winning in Hawaii, especially being Obama's birth state. She has to have a "presence" despite the fact that she won't win there.

I find it quite laughable the notion that Obama's wins in traditional Red states are not as meaningful as Clinton's in blue states. On the contrary, Obama's wins are MORE meaningful because it means he has a better chance of taking those states in November than Clinton. CA, NY, MA…those states are going to vote for a Democrat regardless. Perhaps states like Kansas, South Carolina, Georgia will remain in the Red column too, but there is a much better chance of Obama capturing some of those states than Clinton. Especially given the fact that some independents are drawn to McCain, Clinton will have a MUCH harder time attracting undecided voters than Obama. That is why the polls show Obama beating McCain, but McCain beating Obama.

I suspect that if it ends up Clinton vs McCain, that Clinton will do worse than Kerry in 2004 as I suspect McCain will be in a better position to steal some Blue states than Clinton will be to steal some Red states.

So everyone who thinks Clinton is a better choice than Obama better start thinking otherwise, or else John McCain will be the next President…….hopefully not.

America is not ready for a lady president and will never be. Our country is at war, America is in a recession. We need a man to show our strength to other nations around the world. Those of you that are Christians , should seek guidance from God. God will never endorse a woman being a leader over his creation. God said to Eve in the book of Genesis(3 chapter 16 verse), "A man will rule over you and your desire will be for him. A women biggest challenge in this life is power. look in you own household and see how your mother try to rule your father. This is an abomination to God. Throughout history, God appointed many many kings to leads his people. They were all men never a women. He did allow some great women to be advisers to the king. These women was prophetess. Let us use common sense, does it seem right for a woman to protect a man or her family from harm or is it the man that will use every necessary force to protect his wife and family from harm. Remember, people will change when the world turns but God will never change. Read your bible christians, God didn't allow women to teach nor have an authority over a man. Please read it!!!!! 1 Timothy 2:11-15 and 1 Cor. 14:35. We all say that The United States was built upon Christianity; so let us trust in God to keep us safe from harm. God will never endorse a woman to rule his creation. This is contrary to God's standard. Before you comment, please the read the scriptures. Ps. I endorse the one that god's endorses. We need a change!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Power of God is upon him

Just how is Chelsea a role model. Because she doesn't get in trouble and she lives a "normal life." That is the exact same thing that millions of other kids do. Her parade through Wisconsin was a joke. Going to small, state schools and trying to relate to the students. What does the former first daughter and child of multi-millionaires have in common with a college student who is going to be in debt until there 50 to pay off their loans?

If her parents don't want her in the heat, they should keep her out of the kitchen.

Tim   February 14th, 2008 12:47 pm ET

Adam wrote: "Number of states won is irrelevant. The competition is in delegates.

Adam, Obama has the lead in both categories. Your point is misplaced.
Also, you fail to recognize the negative effect of the statement …'states won are irrelevant' …on your candidate.
Anyone on the fence about Obama or Hillary will no doubt go to Obama (and have been for weeks). You are basically saying their votes dont count for anything. That arrogance is sinking Hillary and turning off support for her.

Adam, when someone keeps winning battles (big or small) and the competitor does not, pretty soon people (and probably uncommitted superdelates) start looking at Barack as a winner. From a sports point of view, he is ahead 23-11 and has an 8 game win streak against his only opponent…and the season is almost over. Which one sounds like the winner to you?

'doesnt matter because they are red states"…. I guess your candidate has 3 or 4 big states that would have gone democratic anyway, so really…what is your point? How does winning a handful of big delegate states that will vote democrat anyway give us a better chance to defeat JOhn McCain? Flawed logic, my friend.

"…."
"…."
"…."
Sorry Aint none! Mommy and daddy never lets her talk – just parades her around like a puppet to get votes.

So really – Who really cares about Chelsea ?

Trang, Fremont CA   February 14th, 2008 12:46 pm ET

Well, Chelsea. Good for you, don't follow your father. Sell your mother's strength, but not putting down the other. Maybe there's hope in the younger generation. Your mother and your father, unfortunately, don't follow your example.

In policies and issues, Hillary and Obama are very similar on their stand, which contrast largely w/ the Republicans.

While Hillary has paid more time on getting on the specifics, demonstrating her knowledge, Obama has paid more time on lifting the people's spirit up – this invisible 'can do' attitude. He has benefit all people, whether you are for him or not. People are using his 'slogans', whether they credit him or not. Obama has specifics, but he diagnose the problem lies more w/ people's spirit and spent more time there.

Hillary can have good ideas, the question is whether she can sell it and push her policies through. It's questionable whether she can win the election because she really can unify the Republicans to come out against her, whether it's her fault or not, and in the remote chance that she gets in, we likely will have gridlock, and nothing gets pushed through.

Obama is ranked as #1 as 'liberal', and yet he managed to get the other sides to come out for him, and therefore more likely to get his policies pushed through.

ZZTop1960   February 14th, 2008 12:45 pm ET

I have been a supporter of the Clintons' for years and on many occasions been at social functions with them. However as a long term Dem voter it is clear to see a couple of things: First, the Clinton's were given a loud wake up call, by a large populas of Americans and and sadly that is"their time has come and gone". They made a good run had their time when Bill was President " not Hillary". Being in the white house does not gives anyone claims that they should get it because "she has experience". I am a president of a large company and my wife has been with me for 28 years, listening to the issues with the company, but it clearly doesn't mean that she has experience to run the company, just by being a spouse. Maybe, since they (the Clintons) felt like it should be easy, well they underestimated the American democratic public who are basically sending a statement that they are not wanted back there. Secondly, about Sen. Obama I don't blame him for not wanting to debate, debate, debate.. since he is relatively nationally unknown as the Clinton's it is formitable for him to spend his time "letting people" get to know him. Plus all of the candidates have their plans detailed on their web sites, and for those of us intelligent people that should be enough. Lastly, if the democrats do something crazy … like give it to her when it clearly should be otherwise. I personally will vote Rep. and will continue to do so. This is coming for a white American.

JJ McClure   February 14th, 2008 12:44 pm ET

The knee jerk chants of "go chelsea" are very silly, with no facts. Maybe the parrot chanting of "experience" at best. Hawaii is his hometown. Obama will take it cause they love him there. And even if letting HIllary win this time lets the door open for Obama, the hatred and racism shown to him here shows they wouldn't want him. His time is now, lets break with the hatred and division of the past.

Nika   February 14th, 2008 12:44 pm ET

Glad to see Maggie Williams is shaking things up and making changes. This is one of Hillary's key strengths, she will approach things from a new angle if the first approach isn't working that well.

This race is far from over, and I'm glad to see new ideas and new strategies.

Go Hillary!

Sergio   February 14th, 2008 12:44 pm ET

The "100 years in Iraq if we have to" Republicans will eat Hillary alive if she gets the nomination. Having "more experience" only gives them more ammo to use against her. And if your smart enough you'd realize that they want her to win.

Obama is a fresh face , smart , charismatic , has the RIGHT KIND OF EXPERIENCE , no history of dirty politics and the ability to bring people together. He would wipe the floor with McCain.

Barack the vote.

David, Silver Spring, MD   February 14th, 2008 12:43 pm ET

Doc Jerome   February 14th, 2008 12:42 pm ET

Hillary's campaign is a "calamity of errors, misjudgements and shortsightedness." That is a fact by all honest accounts.

Is this what 35 yrs of experience gets her?

Is this what you are willing to trust with the power of the Presidency?

Just think.

Claire   February 14th, 2008 12:42 pm ET

reading these coments it scares me the double standards of the obama followers. you unrelentless exercise in hatrhred is scary. you are the people that want to take over our nation? is that the kind of leadership that obama inspires you? michelle obama has said worse things than Bill Clinton did and nobody says anything about it. Do you all obama followers feel comfortable with her statement that "if obama is not elected, we are not doing this again"? is that the kind of commitment you want for your future president? he is weak and arrogant. I LOVE the way the Clintons no matter what stand together and stay together.

GO CHELSEA!! Hillary 08 & 12 , Chelsea 16 & 20

Harry   February 14th, 2008 12:42 pm ET

If she's gonna campaign for Hillary, then Hillary has to have her open to questions from the media.

Barack Obama as of two week ago had nothing of substance in his web site, only yesterday did I see some of his proposals and it looks like Hillary's ideas slightly altered. Some change agent Obama is he can't even come up with his own ideas.
Women around the world in some countrys are no treated on better than there live stock. Women what is wrong with you, stand up and fight, it is the century for women, so fight. Hillary is worth fighting for.
We don't need any more testicals white or black in the white house.

Michael   February 14th, 2008 12:40 pm ET

Earth to Curliss, Earth to Curliss…How do you think Texas normally votes in the general election…Seems that the polls are right about Hillary voters being "uneducated" (not an insult, I am talking about on the issues).

Hillary leads in earmarks, Hillary proposes to garnish wages for healthcare, Hillary voted for the Iraq invasion…Wow, her experience and her ability to lead from day one is amazing…"Give me a break" Tell Bill that Hillary's campaign is the fairy tale that's about to become the nightmare!

Obama '08

Emily   February 14th, 2008 12:40 pm ET

Amy, Kazoo: Obama did not campaign in Michigan because all candidates promised not to, as the DNC stripped Michigan of its delegates. Hillary, however, decided not to honor that promise. Now, I don't think that was a fair call by the DNC, but those are the facts.

And as for everyone who says that Obama has only won traditionally red states, here are states he won that are or have been blue states:

Iowa (swing state)
Colorado (swing state)
Connecticut
Delaware
Illinois
Minnesota
Missouri (swing state)
Louisiana (swing state)
Nebraska (swing state)
Washington
Maryland
D.C.

Yes, Hillary has won large blue states, but Obama certainly gave her a run for her money on them. The California race was pretty close, and I don't think we have to worry about a republican winning there anyway. And as this race progresses, he is winning more and more blue states.

Mark   February 14th, 2008 12:39 pm ET

I can't imagine why anyone from hawaii would vote for hillary, considering all the effort she is making to suggest that the texas and ohio primaries are the only ones that matter.

Randy - Denver   February 14th, 2008 12:39 pm ET

If they want to out stumping for their parents they should be held as accountable as anyother stumper. This means that Ms. Clinton (the younger) should ahve to answer to the same level as Mr. Clinton or Ms. Obama. For those of you who are upset that Ms. Obama did not give a sweeping endorsement to Ms. Clinton remember that Mr. Clinton did not say he would endorse Mr. Obama when asked the same question his response was more along the lines of "I do not see that him beating her" and yet that was not played everywhere on the news like Ms. Obama's response. so get over yourselves, while I do not feel that the news is always equal (I feel it is slnated towards the Clintons) I always have to ask myself is it jsut me seeing what I want to see or is it fact? then do the research.. but based on the "lack of substance" comments I hear repeated by the Clintonistas I guess they do not know how to do the basic research themselves and are waiting to be spoonfed.

Jay   February 14th, 2008 12:38 pm ET

The deck of cards is about to fall for Obama. There's no substance there and people are starting to notice after 100 empty pep-talks. Hillary is ready for this job; Obama's ready to preach some more. Now it's time for the great comeback. Go Hillary!!! The Obama showboat is not ready for the high seas!

Jonathan Vern   February 14th, 2008 12:38 pm ET

I love it. Take a nice vacation Chelsea! No one is voting for your mom down there little girl.

This is too funny! The clintons are so stupid, they are wasting time in a state they have no chance of winning or even of picking up delegates. HAHAHAH. I love it!

Devin MA   February 14th, 2008 12:37 pm ET

Can we get Donna Brazil off the tv? Being black and a woman doesn't make you objective in this election, and she's on CNN and/or MSNBC every 5 minutes it seems, more or less tooting the Obama rally cry. Last I checked there are over 100 super delegates, and the media has weeks of coverage favorable towards Obama to make up for.

Janice - Redondo Beach, CA   February 14th, 2008 12:36 pm ET

To you Clinton haters who say that Bill and Hillary are evil and are liars…just look at how their daughter, Chelsea, has turned out.

She is a successful, poised, and well spoken young lady. For a couple of evil parents, they sure did a great job of raising their daughter.

By that example, I wouldn't mind having Hillary "raise" the U.S. back into the respected superpower we were before the Bush administration!

Please, less talk and rhetoric and more solutions for real results!!!

IA4Hillary   February 14th, 2008 12:34 pm ET

Amy in Iowa:
I've been reading your comments on these blogs for some time now. They are not pro-Obama; they are simply anti-Hillary. Please stop. You're embarrasing your fellow Iowans.
By the way, I am under 40 and well educated. Therefore, I am for Hillary.

Bobt   February 14th, 2008 12:34 pm ET

Solutionis is what we need!

Not promises, just like W. Bush promised us 4 years ago!!

Americans should wake up and stop falling for empty promises!!!

Obama is good at making speeches but White House is more than speeches. It is about achieving results, and NOT about making promises that cannot be kept.

Go Hillary, Next president of United States

Michael   February 14th, 2008 12:34 pm ET

Hillary says: Red states do not count.
Hillary then goes to Texas before voting is done in VA, DC, & MD.

Hillary says that she is running for President and not her husband.
Hillary then uses the fact that her husband did not do well in caucauses as an excuse for her losses.

Hillary says: Caucauses (sp) and small states do not count.
Hillary then tells her daughter to go to Hawaii to campaign for her.

Will the real Hillary Clinton please stand up!!!

Oh and by the way, I do not want my wages garnished for healthcare…lower the cost and they will buy!!!

Obama '08

pam   February 14th, 2008 12:33 pm ET

For all of you Hillary supporters who keep repeating the misinformation about Obama's experience & substance, I have only one question – what has Hillary done? For the life of me, I can't find a single important position in which she's taken a leading role since becoming a Senator. Seems to me she's just gone along with Bush & the Repubs in order to win the favor of the powers that be. And please don't give me that tired argument that Hillary somehow has the right to claim Bill's Presidential experience as her own. No one else can use their mate's experience to get a job & Hillary should play by the same rules as the rest of us.

Nothing Chelsea says or does will entice me to support her mother. Hillary lost my vote when she authorised the invasion of Iraq.
Plus I was insulted by her arrogance when she dismissed the vote I cast in the recent Washington State caucus which voted overwhelmingly for Obama.
I suppose, come November, if heaven forbid she is the Democratic candidate, she will be screaming for my vote. Too late.

Obama 2008

Dems for McCain   February 14th, 2008 12:33 pm ET

Chelsea has her OWN career, she took a leave to campaign for her mother, what's wrong with that? McCain's daughter is campaigning for her father. Even in 2000, Al Gore's daughter campaigned for her Dad, children of Kerry campaigned for their father.

I say, good on Chelsea!

Every parents would love to have a daughter like her, disciplined, graceful, well mannered and intelligent.

Bush twins makes me think of young women on "Girls Gone Wild" video.

Liam   February 14th, 2008 12:31 pm ET

The Wall Street Journal provides a snapshot of life inside Hillaryland: "But the campaign has something of a shellshocked feel, as staffers privately chew over a blowup last week where internal frictions flared into the open. Clinton campaign operatives say it happened as top Clinton advisers gathered in Arlington, Va., campaign headquarters to preview a TV commercial. ‘Your ad doesn't work,’ strategist Mark Penn yelled at ad-maker Mandy Grunwald. ‘The execution is all wrong,’ he said, according to the operatives. ‘Oh, it's always the ad, never the message,’ Ms. Grunwald fired back, say the operatives. The clash got so heated that political director Guy Cecil left the room, saying, ‘I'm out of here.’”

Tim   February 14th, 2008 12:30 pm ET

I am glad to see Chelsea campaigning for Hillary. It would be better that she campaign instead of Bill because the media likes to have a field day on Bill.

The republicans has started to attack Obama on substance. That's what McCain did yesterday. We will see how Obama holds up when the republicans attack him full force. Hillary speak subtance and has stood strong against the republicans attacks. Without Hillary, we will have 4 to 8 more years of incompetence.

smokey99   February 14th, 2008 12:30 pm ET

I have faith in Hillary. I am glad to see Chelsea getting out there. She is not know for being in the public eye. She is a shy women. I have to give her a huge thumbs up for standing by her mom.

Sue: your statement about Michelle Obama is so true.

My vote counts: Hillary 08

Jeff Denver CO   February 14th, 2008 12:29 pm ET

You do not see Senator McCain using his child, a Marine who served in Iraq, to help garner votes. It is just a matter of how far, how much and who will be used, by the power hungry among us.

madeleine   February 14th, 2008 12:29 pm ET

I live in Maui and everyone I talk to leans towards Obama, even my most feminist girlfriends. We all agree it would be nice to have a woman president some day, but just not this one. We want a woman who will make it happen for herself and by herself, not because her husband was president and she has a rich political machine working for her.
Yes, the only people who are for Hillary are the oriental business owners…they are all about money and they don't want to see any change in the islands.
Even the baby boomers will get up to go to the caucus…after all, he did inhale and he didn't lie about it.
A man with integrity is what this country needs.
Go Obama…Hawaii supports you big time!

For those of you complaining about Chelsea campaiging for her mother, I don't here anyone complaining about Obama's big lip wife campaigning for him!

Oddy   February 14th, 2008 12:24 pm ET

As a parent, …I was impressed that the "Clinton's" had place their daughter off limits to public, especially with Hiliary. But being the opportunitst that they are, and their lack of principles, we see them changing they minds and sending their beloved child off to face the very thing they were protecting her from.

Come on folks, if Hiliary would do that to her only child, protect her from the public, and then (because they need her to do something that only she can do, reach the young voters for "Mom") send her out to do her bidding, what does that say about her REAL character?? Can we trust her!!!!??? Which of her campaign promises will she drop or change, because of some political expediency.

…We'd better wake-up and PAY attention!!!!!

pat   February 14th, 2008 12:24 pm ET

every time hillary say she is going to do something for the american people to help them obama says the something about a week later he is just copying her ideas obama dont you have your ideas not hillerys. she has a plan he only has talk . hes a smoother talker dont fall for his bs, read between the lines. he has no plan for our future. america need a person who can lead us, an bring this great nation back from the distruction george bush has imposed on us an thats hillary. go go go hillary. yes shes a political force, but you have to be in this time with everything that is going on in the world she will bring back respect to this great nation.

Is Chelsea a fan of hot peppers and mango ice cream just like her mother? Now THAT would be news. CNN is slipping!

Micahel Guinn, Ventura, CA   February 14th, 2008 12:22 pm ET

I am amazed at these comments always- but today is WAY past anything that makes sense. I am a solid supporter of Senator Obama and believe that those "promises" will BE the Sollutions. All I can say is that come November, John McCain will be the beneficiary of all this hatred. The Country has to have change, not a sequel to the Bush Administration.
We need to quit name-calling and showing our lack of intelligence (not to mention SPELLING- like "Profeth" and "Stadistics") and unify before the General election!
If Senator Clinton gets the nomination, I will be there to vote for her. I firmly believe that Barack Obama will be – and should be – the nominee. The alternative is NOT an option to me!

J from DAHOUSE   February 14th, 2008 12:21 pm ET

First, in foremost why is everyone hating on Chelsea. She wasn't said one negative thing throughout the campaign. Also, I think that the children of candiates no matter what there age should be off limits unless they criticize another candiate. I do agree that Clinton did not plan on needing the smaller states and she should have fought for them more. I think that she has ran a horrible campaign and I blame her advisors. They are poorly organized and unfocused. Hillary is a strong candiate and should be doing much better. Also, I think she should fight in Wisconsin, she's only down four points.

A Stronger America '08

Sue   February 14th, 2008 12:21 pm ET

Why doesn't CNN ever report on what Michelle Obama is up to. I was shocked at her comment when she was asked if she would support Hillary Clinton if her husband wasn't the Democratic nominee. She made a face and said she would have to think about it. If Bill or Chelsea Clinton had said that CNN would have made it a major news story and blasted them.

The double standard at CNN is deplorable. If you want to see fair and balanced coverage, you will not see it at CNN. They are supposed to be providing information that voters need to make an intelligent decision on who to vote for, not deliver the news in such a way as to make it quite evident to anyone with half a brain, that they support Obama.

GO HILLARY 2008

To OKR – What an informative analysis of facts! I hope the Clinton campaign takes a good look at it.

Sen. Obama's economic plan is a plagiarized version of Hillary's . I see him as someone who delivers spine-tingling oratories drafted by his speech writers. By the way, experience is a major part of a resume especially for a job to lead the most powerful country in the world.

Chelsea, you are an excellent role model! Your parents raised you well. Go and get Hawaii!

Ann   February 14th, 2008 12:17 pm ET

It´s completely normal if a child is supporting his mother.

BUT REMEMBER: Chelsea is currently employed at the hedge funds "Avenue Capital" at Wall Street with an estimated salary of serveral hundred thousand Dollar per year (for those who dont believe google "Chelsea Clinton Avenue"). Therefore Chelsea should also be considered as a true lobbyist.

And is it really a good idea to give hedge funds direct access to the President or does anyone expect more control of one of the worst form of companies in the free economy.

Give me a break …

Karen   February 14th, 2008 12:16 pm ET

IJB, t's people like you devisive Obama Cult Members that make me sick, now as bad is this economy is and as many problems as we have out here why in the world would anyone investigate why Chelsea is taking time off from work, have you ever heard of a leave of absence, or maybe vacation leave, grow up, you probably don't have a job probably some college student still being supported by mommy and daddy, go ask your parents why she is able to take off from work since they are the onces that are out here busting their butts and not you. ignorance is bliss!!

Chris M   February 14th, 2008 12:15 pm ET

I found it amusing that Obama always manages to come up with policies or so-called new plans only after Hillary declared hers and his are so much like Hillary's. Tell me why do I want to elect him as the president if he can't even make his own plans.

Chris   February 14th, 2008 12:14 pm ET

Bob from Earth wrote, "Yeah, but she did leave her name on the ballot in Michigan and Florida; which indicates that cared more about what the people in those states cared about instead of what the Democratic Party."

Actually, it's more likely that she left her name on the ballot in case things turned out exactly like they have. She is attempting to make those places safety valves for her campaign – so that she can argue that she won states where all the candidates agreed not to campaign. Both Edwards and Obama did not even appear on the Michigan ballot. How many people chose not to vote after learning their delegates would not count? If those delegates are to be seated, the fairest thing to do would be to hold a new primary in both states. This would be fair to both the voters as well as candidates like Obama and Edwards, who Clinton now seeks to punish for playing by the rules. How fair is that?

c   February 14th, 2008 12:14 pm ET

HILLARY = BAD JUDGEMENT   February 14th, 2008 12:13 pm ET

a) Vote on Iraq war
b) Vote on Iran war
c) Vote on Bankruptcy Bill
d) ALL THE ABOVE

Also on her,
Campaign FINANCE problems. – If she can’t handle her own financial problems would you let her handle America’s?
Universal Health Care – she wasn’t able to deliver in the ‘90s so now its going to be different

Hillary has shown BAD JUDGEMENT on ALL the IMPORTANT ISSUES

According to 'Clinton Logic' if Hillary wins in 2008 and 2012 then Chelsea will have a total of 16 years of political experience … making her the most qualified choice for the presidency in 2016.

Go Chelsea 2016!!!!

JC, Hot Springs, Arkansas   February 14th, 2008 12:11 pm ET

Let's remember that in the November election, Hilllary Clinton only needs to win all of the states that either Al Gore won in 2000 or John Kerry won in 2004, plus Arkansas, where she lived for 18 years. She'll win it. Can Barack?

Hillary talks of experience. What kind of experience is she talking about? She has never been the President, so both her and Obama have the same experiences. If she banks on Bill its too bad. Bill was the President in the 90's . Long time ago. Time has changed and thats why we think that this time around its about new Leadership. Thats how Obama comes in.
How old was Kennedy when he became the President and how old was Bill when he became President. Please Billary and McCain should go home. 60+ Candidates should have retired from active Presidential races

To this date, Hillary Clinton has not been charged with any wrong-doing, just as Barack Obama has not with the Rezko Federal Case. Honestly, if people continue to believe that one person is perfect and the other is "corrupt", we could be in for some really bumpy roads over the next few weeks as the information about Rezko comes to light. Please read the information provided by the Chicago Sun Times before you burn Hillary at the cross….. she may not be innocent, but she certainly has not been convicted of anything. I can't imagine any politician having completely clean hands…. that would be naive.

Please vote for the person that best fits your ideology on the topics that are most important to you. Both candidates are very promising for the Democratic Party. Clinton 2008 & 2012 & Barack 2016 & 2020. See the big picture….. in 16 years the country could have a lot of the mistakes of the current administration corrected and many other programs implemented.

FOCUS PEOPLE….. Go Dems!

States Obama Won   February 14th, 2008 12:08 pm ET

"Obama hasn't won a state that matters…every state he has won, is traditional won by a republican in a general election."

#1 This is completely false.
#2 For many states, like Virginia, he has a strong likelihood of winning the state from the republicans, because of his stong crossover/independent support.
#3 You could say the same thing about states traditionally won by democrats in the general election, since they'll vote "blue" regardless of the nominee.

Stop it, HRC supports, with the sour grapes already!

andy   February 14th, 2008 12:08 pm ET

hillary is up 21 in ohio and double digits in pennsylvania, you never no she just might pull out hawaii. Hillary beats mccain in head to head matches in florida, pennsylvania and ohio. Obama loses in all of these head to head matches, Obama isn't fooling everyone. Check real clear politics for the polls.

New Jersey   February 14th, 2008 12:07 pm ET

Clinton fans please. This thing is over. Her own camp acknowledges that she cant win even if she sweeps Texas, Ohio and Pennsylvania. They only want her to get close enough to cause a debate and possibly seat Michigan and Florida.

The rules were in place before the campaigning started. Now that HIllary is behind she wants to change the rules. She won Michigan 50 to 40. Do you people realize that she was in a 10 point race for Michigan with no other candidates on the ballot but herself. I'm sure some people chose her name because it was the only one they saw!

So for all the Clintonites, Go Texas!, Go Ohio!, Go Pennsylvania! and then GO HOME because you still wont have enough delegates to win.

AJ, IL   February 14th, 2008 12:04 pm ET

Don't fool yourselves Hillary supporters. Obama's has had ground support in Hawaii since late December 2007. In fact, actress Kelly Hu and some others have been in Hawaii over the past week or two talking to supporters and voters. A hottie like Kelly Hu (who is in the Obama Internet video YES WE CAN!) will have more attendance at her events than shy little Chelsea. Kelly Hu can express why she is excited about an Obama candidancy versus poor Chelsea just saying "please vote for my mom".

Obama in 08!

Can someone also ask if Chelsea is going to be available to answer questions?

Can someone ask her why she NEVER served in the military, but her mommy and daddy as co-presidents sent troops around the world and mommy voted to authorize to send tropps to Iraq?

Nah, didn't think so.

Remember Bill Clinton signed the Apology Resolution (US Public Law 103-150) to Native Hawaiians on November 23, 1993? I'm sure everyone agrees it was very emotional. Yesterday, the Australian Prime Minister apologized to Aborigines, their Natives in Australia. It's good to see the governments are stepping up to apologize for their past mistakes.

Honestly, I don't see Republican run governments ever will do that.

Ken – thank you. Tired of the misinformed Clinton backers spewing her tired old garbage about Obama not being specific, experienced, etc. Its swift boating at its finest!! GET INFORMED PEOPLE!!

Great – Chealsea on the trail. I'm so glad that the media finally gets the chance to ask HER questions. The veil the Clinton's have put on this woman is rediculous….she is a college educated adult and they've been treating her like a 12 year old! If they are going to stick her on the campaign trail, then the media now has every right to ask her some very pointed questions. No longer is Chelsea off limits.

Prado- Did you actually just use Family Values and the Clintons in the same paragraph? I am astounded. Is this the kind of cluelessness that all Clinton supporters have? If so I fear for the democrats. That being said…..

I am an independent who has not made up his mind on who to vote for. All I hear about is Clintons experience and how Obama is just rhetoric. How Clinton is ready from day one and Obama needs more experince. My question is this….

What is Clintons experience? What has she done to warrant this label?

Everyone claims Obama is too general in his statements but yesterday he laid out his economic plan in one of his speeches. Has Hillary done this?

If one of her supporters can answer these questions I would greatly appreciate it. Because as it is now I am leading towards Obama.

Thank you all

WakeUpAmerica   February 14th, 2008 11:57 am ET

MSNBC — Would Obama be bad for business? "After all, Obama is hardly a shoo-in for the C-suite set: He's got a scant three-year record on the national stage, and he wants to roll back the Bush tax cuts that benefit many of the people running big American companies.

Plus, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce gives him the lowest rating of any of the three major contenders for the presidency, behind Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.). "

To the above Hillary lemmings who say such as this:

"Obama hasn't won a state that matters…every state he has won, is traditional won by a republican in a general election. Hillary on the otherhand has won all states (where most people live) that matter."

Obama has won more popular votes btw. More importantly, the logic that blue states such as CA and NY matter (Hillary's column), while the likes of red VA, GA, SC, and LA do not, is indicative of poor public school education and no college ! Is the Democratic nominee in danger of losing the blue states if its anyone but Hillary ? LOL !!!!

You need the nominee who is strongest beyond the traditional party roots … duh !

OKR blog writer, please do not letdown yourself in any way. You can make a big difference in our country and so do Obama. If you think that the Clintons and the Bushes were born with golden spoon or Golden brain, think again. They are americans like you, if they can do it, Obama will do it better. We need change the country or do you wants to let george Bush to continue?, Because if the Clinton win they are the same old folks.

I've met chelsea, she is so nice and very intelligent.
I will vote hillary over barack because even though barack is a nice guy, he is filled with promises with no details and a lack of a plan.
If the media attacks her, it's without premise, she is a good person.

Tony   February 14th, 2008 11:51 am ET

Obama is our best hope.

He is receiving support from new voters, Independents, and moderate Republicans; Hillary and Bill and Chelsea are not.

California and New York voted Democratic in the past two presidential elections, yet the country was lost both times to George W. Bush. It's the smaller states that were narrowly won by Bush that we need to be considering, and it is HERE that Obama, because of his ability to attract new support, is winning…. and winning BIG now.

And while I'd LOVE to see a woman as president, I don't think a co-presidency is a good way to begin, especially not with a man that lied to the nation while in office, was impeached by the House of Representatives, and divides his OWN party, let alone the country.

As a democrat, I will never support a return to the Bush/Clinton politics of the past and their squandered presidencies.

I hope Wisconsin and Hawaii use their position to send a strong message to the convention in Denver and to the world on Tuesday that Barack Obama should be our 44th president.

John in Columbus, OH   February 14th, 2008 11:51 am ET

Interesting. I just saw a poll (from some no name source) that had Hillary leading in Ohio by double-digits. You must be joking. Sounds like the Clinton spin machine is in desperate straits.

Almost everyone I know (and we are the demographic Hillary is supposedly going to win) is voting for Obama. And we are one of the bluest parts of the state.

Blake in Brooklyn   February 14th, 2008 11:51 am ET

Obama Smells like teen spirit!

Most of his contributions are from minors using their parent's credit cards or college students using their parents money. That is why he can raise money so fast because he gets it from Excelon and big business and then gets the kids on board. Too bad you can't text in your vote. Barack Obama is the American Idol candidate.

francis   February 14th, 2008 11:51 am ET

Go Ms. Clinton – win this one for all of us!!!

The island state is Clinton country!

Ohio is Clinton country – it has always been and still is – maybe with the exception of Cleveland east, Columbus central east and parts of Akron.

Texas is Clinton country – with the exception of Austin, parts of Dallas and the refinery area along the northern coast.

Pennsylvania – Clinton countryside – with the exception of parts of Philadelphia, Pittsburg, and other small enclaves

Indiana – (88 delegates) all Clinton territory of conservative democrats – with the exception of the 1st congressional district around the city of Gary (Lake County – not Porter County) and pockets around Indianapolis

Kentucky – Clinton – except for Louisville and some other small pockets

Latest Rasmussen 2/14/08:

Democratic Presidential Nomination: Today’s results show Obama earning support from 49% of Likely Democratic Primary Voters while Clinton attracts 37%.

In General Election match-ups: Obama leads John McCain 46% to 42% while McCain leads Clinton 48% to 41%.

Adios !

JayinMN   February 14th, 2008 11:46 am ET

You know what i take that back

IGNORE the dates on the polls, that way everyone actually thinks Hillary is polling ahead right now, and if ANYTHING changes in the next poll

we get to see how the spin it, remember Hillary needs to win these days with 60% of the vote, she is at 57% in Ohio, what will they say when that number drops instead of going above 60%

and in texas once again where she needs to win by 20 points, she is up only 10 points by a poll weekend elections/delegate leads, so we will see what happens when they take another poll

Ray - NJ   February 14th, 2008 11:44 am ET

Senator Clinton has a lot of supporters in Texas, it isn't over yet.

I can appreciate that any politician would be offended by such a malicious comment towards their children. I would write the same if it was said to someone's kid on the Republican side. These politicians are only human.

Good Luck to you Chelsea. I admire your conscientious efforts supporting your mother.

JayinMN   February 14th, 2008 11:42 am ET

wow everyone is asking about the March 4th polls? well maybe unlike all the other news media CNN looked at the DATES on the polls

Feb 6-12? hmmmmm

lets see Obama didnt start his sweep it the Night of Feb 9th

meaning Feb 6th – Feb 9th all represent pre-momentum, post super tuesday polls,

Obama wasn't seen offically as the delegate leader untill the evening of the 12th AFTER these polls were done?

so are you guys really saying that at this point in time a poll that does NOT take into account Obama's new momentum is accurate?

ofcourse the hillary camp will ignore this fact because you know thats what they do,

ignore the insignificant little details right?

Jay   February 14th, 2008 11:42 am ET

Hillary's 30+ years of political experience puts her over the top for me. Too bad the GOP doesn't have anyone with a lot of experience. Chelsea's love for her mother is admirable. She sets a very good example for our children. Love and respect your parents, that 's the way it should be. Apparently Hillary and Bill have been good parents.

Chris Texas   February 14th, 2008 11:41 am ET

It's funny how the Obamabots criticize this move by the Clinton Campaign. Are your memories so short, you can't remember Oprah literally telling her (supposed loyal viewers) that they are not obligated to vote for Hillary and (should) vote for Obama?

Obamabots are nothing more than hypocrits.

Peter Obama08!   February 14th, 2008 11:41 am ET

Hillary said earlier that those states that Obama won was not important to win the November election, and she call them activists. Why now she wants the activists vote?

I love it. Take a nice vacation Chelsea! No one is voting for your mom down there little girl.

This is too funny! The clintons are so stupid, they are wasting time in a state they have no chance of winning or even of picking up delegates. HAHAHAH. I love it!

It's over Hillary supporters. Stop wasting your money. In fact, see if you can get your money back – stop payment on a check or do a chargeback on your credit card.

Mahalo Chelsea! HAHAHAH!

gene   February 14th, 2008 11:38 am ET

When Chelsea is done in Hawaii she can come down to Texas. Obama is claiming that he has the nomination sewed up and Texas and Ohio voters don't count . What arrogance! I live in Texas and our votes are going to count. He did not just exclude Texas and Ohio and he thinks the votes in Wisconsin and Hawaii does not matter either and I guess that applies to Rhode Island and Vermont. Tuesday, with his election wins, is the first time he has been up in the delegate count and he declares victory. Read the WSJ article today. Their is about six or more different delegate counts. With a low of 25 and a high of 106. The 106 is the MSNBC and NBC counts and they are rabit anti Clinton. In the last two months they have had to issue two apoligizes to the Clinton women and suspended one of their reporters. CNN should do the same to Cafferty, He is the most biased with CNN.

MM in TX   February 14th, 2008 11:37 am ET

Go fellow cardinal!

I truly hope that the Obamabots who post on CNN are not representative of the majority of Obama supporters. You're a pretty wretched bunch.

I never thought that I would say this, but if Obama wins the nomination I would give serious thought to voting for McCain, specifically because the Obamabots are so full of hate. Sadly, they don't seem to follow the positive tone set by their own candidate.

Go Hillary!

Warren   February 14th, 2008 11:36 am ET

A little late. Jut like after living in Washington, DC as First lady and as a Senator, it was only last week, that she voiced her opinion that residents of Washington, DC should have the right to full representation. The people of DC were be no more impressed with the sincerity of the gesture than the people of the small "Insignificant states" will be. Anyway, I think Chelsea deserves time in Hawaii. She has every right to campaign for her mother without being maligned. Now if Hillary can just figure out a way to send Mark Penn and Bill to campaign in a monastery where there is a rule of silence.

Chris, Middletown, CT   February 14th, 2008 11:36 am ET

She left her 100K job (fresh out of college) to campaign….thats nice…as she is equally qualified to be president as her mother is….after all – they were both "there" – baffling that anyone would support Hillary….ever

I watched part of Obama's town Hall meeting in Racine WI yesterday, and I was shocked at how different he is in a small "up close and personal" venue like that.
He was rude and quite arrogant I thought.
Very disturbing for some of his supporters
He seemed so out of his element by not being on his speech platform.
He stumbled all over his words, and seemed lost for words some times.
President material? I think not.

Quentin   February 14th, 2008 11:32 am ET

Hillary Clinton and her homebois and homegals have blown 140,000,000.00 in one month and now there desperate for more of your money. Just imagine what will happen if she's President. Talking about someone who doesnt know how to manage a campain so how can i trust her to lead this economy.

Carole   February 14th, 2008 11:32 am ET

I am sure Chelsea is well aware of how she will be treated by the media and by Obama supporters who can be very nasty. She has every right to campaign on behalf of her mother and owes no explanation to anyone!

As far as Hillary ignoring those other states – those states ignored "her" just like Ted Kennedy did by endorsing Obama. Hillary has been a public servant for a very long time for the Deocratic Party. Like she said, she is "True Blue". If she loses I hope she well remembers how she was pushed aside by some of the party

I sure hope you win Hillary – but if not – I will not be as loyal as you are to the Party. I will not case my vote for Obama for a ton of reasons.

HILLARY FOR PRESIDENT

Ty   February 14th, 2008 11:31 am ET

When a politician compromised her principal due to the political favoritism at the time is not a leader. She is merely a follower (remember why she voted for the WAR).

When a political campign adjusted its strategy, it is simply because she was defeated.

When a politician changes her plan from A to whatever, it is simply because she is lack of vision to begin with.

Tom St. Louis   February 14th, 2008 11:30 am ET

People,
We do not need anybody to tell us what we can. We need to know what he can and what she can.
Everybody knows business will be as usual and politics will be as usual after the election. Politicians will always be driven by votes and donations. Nobody will be able to change that. We need to know what he can and what she can under the "as usual" conditions. Any revolutionary promises are meaningless.

AJ   February 14th, 2008 11:30 am ET

"Hillary Clinton has been endorsed by Sen. Daniel K. Inouye of Hawaii"

Hey CNN, why no huge headline for this endorsement? Any time any old has been has endorsed Obama, there have been such headlines you would think he was being endorsed by Jesus.

Bev   February 14th, 2008 11:30 am ET

Hillary cannot connect with the young people so she is haveing to use Chelsea. Chelsea has star power. That's the only reason she is using her. Chelsea is actually a bigger and better draw than either Hillary or Bill. If the other candidates had her they would use her too.

Ken   February 14th, 2008 11:28 am ET

I keep seeing comments about Barrak not being specific and detailed in how he is going to do things………well you know what, neither has ANY of the other presidential hopefuls. He has not been more or less in specifics than any of the others. If you want those details they are found on each of the candidates web site. And yes even Obama has DETAILS, no more or less than the others.
As far as paying for these promised changes that each candidate is making…..well gee I suppose that would be us, the American tax payer. And that applies to ALL policies that they want to implement. Or I suppose you believe that Hillary is going to donate her check to bring about these changes…..

Charlotte   February 14th, 2008 11:27 am ET

I support Hillary because she truly is the best candidate for the job of the presidency. It is that simple.

Bev   February 14th, 2008 11:26 am ET

Chelsea has the right to campaign for her mother. But then Hillary and Chelsea have to be prepared to be scrutinized, commented on and critized by the public and the media. Hillary can not then threaten to not be at a debate because she doesn't like what the media said about Chelsea. Hillary can not have it both ways. The rules that apply to the other candidates and their families apply to her and her family. If you have her out there and you Hillary or she gets attacked for something you or she did or said, then don't cry about it.

Prioritizing appearances based on time constraints is standard practice for every candidate. It's not like these candidates have three months to sit in everyone's living room, like they can in your state.

"Community Organizer for President"

He was a community organizer in an inner city Chicago. Then he wrote a book. Then he ran unopposed for the local state senate. Then he ran unopposed for a vacant Illinois state senate. And now he wants to be the president of the United States of America

The country is drifting from its historic path to an uncharted territory. Eight more years of experimentations and ill-conceived judgments even with good intentions could find our beloved United States unrecognizable and hard to correct. He said that he can not manage the nation but will hire good people.

In these times of the whole world is competing for our economy, jobs and livelihood it is very critical to methodically evaluate your choices and have the vision for future consequences. You must have the sound judgment and experience or we will find our selves in the richest third world country. With experience and competence come good judgment not just contents. But he will hire good people around him he said.

In the last few weeks the United States Navy had a close encounters with Russians fighter jets and Iranian navy boats in the Strait of Hormuz. One can restart the cold war with a nuclear nation and the other could stop the flow of most of the world’s petroleum that could send the world into an economic recession and ciaos. Do you want a community organizer that can hire good people to navigate this?

The president we elect have to decide between differing consultants. He or she has to make a decision that the future of our nation and our children depends on. We need a president who will make the correct choices and keep this country prosperous and free and great as it always been. Please don’t make us choose between an inexperienced community organizer and an opponent who supports the wrong war.

Lets take our country back and keep it the way it has always been, Great, Prosperous, Free, Strong and the beacon for freedom and democracy. I recommend you support Hillary Clinton now to lead the United States of America.

Thank You

SMD   February 14th, 2008 11:23 am ET

Obama 2016? What a joke. Hillary has lost in terms of pledged delegates and the popular vote. She is not adjusting, she is trying to stop the bleeding that can't be stopped. She blew her money and her arrogance said 'they know my name, I need not spend time in those states.' Her campaign has been a failure. How do you go from inevitable to hanging on by thread? By being out-organized, that's how. Why don't you say what you really think? Superdelegates will save the day –only not, because most of them will need to get re-elected. Chelsea is not impressive nor does she sway young people that much. Sure she hasn't gone out and gotten drunk like the Hilton sisters but really, who cares that she's a top ten grad? I am too, and I could care less if she thinks her mommy should win.

Substance! Yes, a Clinton vote is one for substance! Please let the electorate use their brains this year.

I have not heard full speeches by Chelsea but I will say that if anyone has a chance to hear Bill Clinton speak in person on in a live feed on CNN, do it. He's amazing. It's not rhetoric – it informative and inspiring. Obama's pep rallies are so shallow.

Tamara   February 14th, 2008 11:18 am ET

Hillary Clinton can once again make a comeback. They thought she was a goner before NH and she won going away. She still has a shot in Wisconsin and polls indicate that she is still ahead in Ohio, Texas and Rhode Island. If she can win those three, she will again be back in the drivers seat both in number of delegates and momentum. Go Hillary Go! Don't ever give up, keep on fighting! We stand with you!

Thomas   February 14th, 2008 11:18 am ET

HILLARY WE NEED YOU!!!

SOLUTIONS for America!

Diddy   February 14th, 2008 11:17 am ET

I think it's great but I really think this is hurting Hillary. People want to see the candidate, not their daughter or husband. Hillary is relying too much on the appeal of her family and that's why her lead has dissappeared. She claims to be tough, but she's already conceded races and not one vote has been cast. She fights only what she can win and that shows no character or integrity.

I want a president who when it gets tough they can stand, not send their spouse or children. Barack has been everywhere and he's doing it well, why can't Hillary. Even when he's lost he's taken it on the chin and moved on, she acts like we're still at Super tuesday and keeps mentioning CA and the Big states, all states matter….

GO OBAMA!!!!

Hey Amy in Iowa. You can be sick of the Clinton dynasty, but don't say its because of Chelsea and Bill campaigning for Hillary, or is it ok for the Kennedy's and Oprah to campaign for Obama when he's no where to be found in that particular state. You are a hater and your reasons are baseless.

Helping on the campaign should not make you game for rude ignorant comments from anti-Hillary people. This Obama campaign is anti-Hillary, not pro-Obama because Obama doesn't take a stand on anything – just rhetoric, rhetoric! This goes to show how biased your question is. Well I know what the answer is, same place Hillary's and McCain would come from. I hope you are satisfied. Otherwise pay more attention to details.

Tara   February 14th, 2008 11:04 am ET

So far, I'd say this has been an amazing experience for Chelsea Clinton, but I'm guessing it will be a little "harder" to campaign for her mother in the fall, after she has to testify in Paul v. Clinton.

Ryan, New Jersey   February 14th, 2008 11:02 am ET

Point and Clap Chelsea!!! Yea, do it do it! You are the #1 fur trader voted at your college and a great governmental electoral vote broker! I love the Clintons. God bless America

jaclyn   February 14th, 2008 11:02 am ET

If Chelsea is going to put herself in the public arena like this and give speeches, then she ought to answer questions instead of being treated with kid gloves. She is not a child anymore.

John, NC   February 14th, 2008 11:00 am ET

A good leader makes adjustments when things don't go well with Plan A. That's called LEADERSHIP, and that's why I like HILLARY. She's a DOER!

We're down,,, but NOT OUT. It's not over till it's over!!

Vote for SUBSTANCE!

Vote for HILLARY '08!!!

A. Harrison   February 14th, 2008 10:59 am ET

She is on the move and she can't be stopped.

Hillary 2008 !
Obama 2016!

Kathy   February 14th, 2008 10:58 am ET

Too little, too late.

How does this woman who claims 35 years of experience take so long to "find her voice," take so long to realize "duh, small states matter too," and yet expects us to believe she has the judgment to lead on "day one"????

Can ANYONE point to ANY decision that Clinton has ever made that ended up being right????

joe   February 14th, 2008 10:58 am ET

No credit for Obama doing anything in tne past as a senator

no substance in his speech

how can democtats vote for this kind of unqulified candidate?

but I believe most of the Americans are smart enough to select a qualified president.

God bless American.

O8   February 14th, 2008 10:57 am ET

like I said, this is Billary Dynasty…………

No to Dynasty/Monarchy

YES TO DEMOCRACY NO TO DYNASTY

NO more Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton (Billary) Clinton (Chelsea)…

Now that Bill is not talking she will use Chelsea……I think it is very sad, but i can see in desperate times they will use whatever they can..
people in power can not take NO for an answer ….

Liam   February 14th, 2008 10:57 am ET

Hillery declares that Red State Victories for Senator Obama are meaningless.

Hillary declares Red State victories for her in Texas and Ohio will mean everything.

Liz   February 14th, 2008 10:56 am ET

I wish I was in Hawaii to help promote Hillary…

Dem in Ohio   February 14th, 2008 10:56 am ET

I'm in Ohio waiting to vite for Hillary, whether CNN gives her any good press or not.

Hillary 08

Ty in Dallas   February 14th, 2008 10:55 am ET

Hillary Clinton is not the candidate of inevitable for the Democrats. People need to break the mode of elitist rule. We have enough Bush-Clinton-Bush. We don't live in an era of aristocracy.

Obama 08′

Mike   February 14th, 2008 10:54 am ET

Hillary has the guts and will to get things done. She has done many tasks for the democratic party long before being a senator and Bill was president. She knows the job and what to do. She is tough and at the same time sympathetic to causes. She is the right person for the job.

Obama is a nice guy but is inexperienced. He even sought Hillary's advice at times and now he thinks he can supersede the teacher after only a few lessons? The fact is that the Clintons have done more for black people than Obama has and ever will. It is becoming clear that people are voting for a choice of color rather than experience and credentials. As much as I would love to see a black person in office, it still has to be a qualified person. Obama will never be able to make good on his promises and will let down everyone. Hillary is smart enough and tough enough to get it done.

It should be Hillary as president and in 8 years when she has served, I think it would be the right time to put Obama in absolutely. He will be seasoned and knowledgeable by then.

Vic   February 14th, 2008 10:54 am ET

Political campaigners continually adjust their method of operations depending on day-to-day changes among the voting public. Along with Hillary's direction change among smaller states, we see Obama hiring one of former President Clinton's 1992 main campaign managers. This Obama new-hire told Larry King's audience last night that he would concentrate on the race between Obama and John McCain. Hmmmm.

Alice   February 14th, 2008 10:54 am ET

Ron, TX:

Yup…and, if you recall, Hillary proposed the elimination of the Electoral College to benefit any candidate that appealed to major urban demographics. To hell with middle America,

Chelsea in Hawaii is kinda weak

The reality is Clinton thought this would be over by super tuesday and she never got people on the ground, Now she is scrambling to get people in puerto rico and other states

its a little late though.

Think - FL   February 14th, 2008 10:53 am ET

Yea, it's called being egotistical and getting caught off guard.

She expected Barack and whoever else she'd run against to be a pushover for the Clinton machine. They figured they could ignore the small, "unimportant" states and just focus on the larger, more populated states.

Scramble Hillary… scramble. There are hordes of ignorant follows vying to throw themselves under your bus.

FFD   February 14th, 2008 10:52 am ET

I think we should be more supportive of Senator Clinton and her campaign. She has had a unfairly difficult time in this election. She was fairly unknown at the beginning, had trouble raising funds early, did not have much institutional support, and is just begnning to understand what it means to develop national support from all states. Shouldnt we be more supportive and encouraging of the clear underdog as she struggles against the establishment candidate, Senator Obama?

Troy-Boston   February 14th, 2008 10:51 am ET

Go Chelsea go!!!

Hillary '08

Randy - Denver   February 14th, 2008 10:51 am ET

I wounder if, now that Chelsea is activily campaigning, is she open for the press to ask questions and dig into her past or is she still to be held inviolate?

hard time getting posts approved!   February 14th, 2008 10:49 am ET

Chelsea just needs to ask undecided voters of Obama supporters these questions:
1) What has Obama ever accomplished as a US senator
2) He claims he can unite people, but he is one of the most partisan senators in the senate. What proof is there that he can be independent and bipartisan?

Jen, MI   February 14th, 2008 10:48 am ET

Every time Hillary decides to do something, it is scrutinized by everyone. Why doesn't this happen to the MIGHTY OBAMA>

pam Eugene OR   February 14th, 2008 10:47 am ET

Will she be allowed to speak and answer questions? Or, is she just there to give her mom's stump talk?

Chelsea,
fine young girl, beautiful, wonderful person
Hillary 08

NELSON   February 14th, 2008 10:45 am ET

For Hillary to have been so protective of her daughter through out her rearing, i guess when it comes to her own selfish ambitions she will pull out all the stops. So much for her privacy. The Media will have a field day with Chelsea at the cost of Hillary's ambitions.

AJ, IL   February 14th, 2008 10:45 am ET

Doesn't Chelsea have a newly recent six-figure salary job at a hedge fund! It must be nice to be at a job for less than a year and then take off two months to go campaigning for mom!

The Hillary campaign has been competing in each and every state but of course concentrated on the big states because they thought the nomination would be decided for Hillary on Feb. 5th!

Obama in '08!

Jaymes Spiekerman   February 14th, 2008 10:44 am ET

It's called readjusting!!! It has to be done to stay in the game and she knows what to do to make it happen!!! Smart Move on the Clinton campaign!!!

IA   February 14th, 2008 10:42 am ET

Sorry, but it's not about winning states! It's about winning delegates and we're headed straight for the nomination!

IT'S ABOUT SOLUTIONS……………..NOT PROMISES!!!

HILLARY CLINTON 08!

Andrew K   February 14th, 2008 10:42 am ET

Hawaii ROCKS! :D I love Hawaiians. They're very warm people in spirit, and they're totally going to vote for Barack, because he is too.

He's got the ALOHA approach.

But good luck Chelsea.

Damian   February 14th, 2008 10:41 am ET

Chelsea you are a credit to your parents!
I'm glad that Hilary's camp has re-grouped,
and is now taking the campaign by the horns!

Liam   February 14th, 2008 10:41 am ET

Hillary recently claimed that Red State wins should not mean much, since they will not vote for a Democrat in November.

Texas and Ohio are Red States, so why is Hillary now claiming that if she wins in those two Red States that would make her a winner in November.

Can you say Hillery Doublespeak, Boys and Girls?

Mervin   February 14th, 2008 10:40 am ET

Cnn if Obama was leading in the March4th polls,it would have been plastered all over your website..Quinnipac just came out with Ohio and Pennslyvania numbers where Hillary is leading in double digits and it is yet to be posted on your website…..How ironic…….If this news was about Obama,it would have been up as first story….Best regards..

Karen from Minnesota   February 14th, 2008 10:39 am ET

It's called strategy. Resources are not umlimited unless you're Obama. White men are supporting his candidacy in order to knock out Hillary. Then they will join the McCain camp. Already the polls show McCain beating them both in Florida. Only the electoral college really counts in the end!

sw   February 14th, 2008 10:39 am ET

Great move, Howaii has a lot of Asian immigrants, adn they love Clintons.

Sue, Michigan   February 14th, 2008 10:37 am ET

I think Chelsea is a great choice-she's smart, well-spoken like her mother, and a person who can meet youth on their terms.
Don't blame the Clinton campaign for marginalizing states-this contest has gone on for far too long, and the money isn't infinite. We really need to figure out a better way of electing a President. First off, these Senators are employed by us, and yet they have to find ways to be everywhere (on our buck) and continue to raise dollar after dollar. It's dumb in this media age to expect them to visit every small town in America. Much better would be a serious of debates on singular issues, which ONE primary date in June. If a candidate is chosen, then NO money wasted on a convention at all. Don't even start this process until Feb. of the election year. There are far too many issues ( can anyone say IMPEACHMENT?) in Washington that these people should have been attending to instead of running for another office for 18 months.
The problem is narrowing the field, which is another issue.

Barbara-California   February 14th, 2008 10:35 am ET

Maybe there should be some new campaign laws drafted that mandate the candidate themselves campaign in each state themselves, then there would be no doubt what the candidates purpose and ideals are all about.

Dedication/intelligence can not be a substitute by relatives, whether they be distant or close.

Let the campaigns show who really wants to dedicate their time running this busy country and who has the stamina and verve and purpose.

smokey99   February 14th, 2008 10:34 am ET

It is not about the number of states. It is about the delegates in each state. They had a good map up yesterday showing that even if Obama wins every state he still would not have enough delegates to get the nom. Obama or Hillary would have to win Ohio, Texas and PA buy 80% to get the delegate count and that still might put one of them over the top.
This is going to be a long 3 weeks. The claws are coming out on both sides.

Pat Durham   February 14th, 2008 10:34 am ET

It would be nice if all the "talk shows" and news media would let Hillary run her campaign. Obama never does are says anything wrong and Hillary can't open her mouth without being critically defeated. Lets look at the issues, not all the empty promises of change. What is the Obama change anyway.

Patrick Anthony Drake   February 14th, 2008 10:34 am ET

The American People deserve answers and not speeches that generate HOPE. WE THE PEOPLE, require a President who is not afraid to inform us of his or her plans to take our country to the mountains of peace and prosperity and leave these valleys of politics. Debate is challenge, and only the most courageous seeks out that challenge. Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Obama are two of my heroes, but only one seems to show enough courage to actually "turn the pages of history". WE THE PEOPLE, deserve more debates to help strengthen our votes so that we too may be "SUPER DELEGATES".

P.S.

GOOOOOOO CHELSEA!

Eric   February 14th, 2008 10:32 am ET

Love how we talk about this but we don't ask Obama where he will be getting the money to pay for any of his plans. Talk about a tax and spend liberal.

Get real!   February 14th, 2008 10:31 am ET

Hillary never said these states "don't matter." She simply had to prioritize in placing her resources where they would garner the greatest return. THAT is what a prudent and successful executive does!

By the way, I think Obama has just liberated millions of people from preparing a credible resume when they apply for a job. We will no longer have to be specific about what we can bring to the company, or what our exact experience is. We can now simply state:
- I am the change you seek
- Yes, I can!

Hooray!

Adam, IL   February 14th, 2008 10:30 am ET

Number of states won is irrelevant. The competition is in delegates.

Obama 2016!

Steve   February 14th, 2008 10:27 am ET

To Ron,

Its called strategy and using what limited funds you have to get maximum effect. She isn't marginalizing, she is budgeting. She had to loan the campaign $5M. Obama has more money thus is able to do more. Its simple math.

Kelly   February 14th, 2008 10:27 am ET

In all honesty, she has a relative point. As much as Obama would like to believe so many Republicans will support him, he might achieve a few, but rather marginal. His arrogance is almost impressive. Do the Dems ever focus on Montana? Do the Republicans ever focus on NY? No. In this system, Hillary was thinking General Election. I agree, the rule of politics is only concentrate on winning the election in front of you, not long-term. And, by all accounts, bigger states do have a majority of voters, so to win a big state is a much more accomplishment than a small state. If Obama won all big states, there would be spin.

Arin   February 14th, 2008 10:27 am ET

For those of you in Wisconsin, please remember on Day 1 after the Virginia/D.C./Maryland primary, Senator Clinton was in TEXAS, and not not in Wisconsin. As a matter of fact, Day 2, she is also in Texas. She is asking not what she can do for you, but what you can do for her. Even if you have pennies in your pocket, you are supposed to go out there in and earn the vote, the Wisconsin vote. I think that's what you deserve from a candidate.

BobW Rochester, NY   February 14th, 2008 10:27 am ET

Like Chelsea Clinton is representative of America's youth! In her daddy's words, give me a break. The last time I looked, the "youth vote" wasn't concerned with Hillary as they have been backing Obama in droves. California is history but Obama is the future.

Curliss   February 14th, 2008 10:27 am ET

Obama hasn't won a state that matters…every state he has won, is traditional won by a republican in a general election. Hillary on the otherhand has won all states (where most people live) that matter. It says something…dont you think ? I hope we dont repeat a Al Gore vs Bush scenario…where we ended up putting in office a man with ZERO accomplishments. Hillary or McCain would be the most suitable choices as they have very many accomplishments on record. Anyone, with just a bit of common-sense can see this. I hope Obama supporters dig deeper into why they are supporting him…else we are in four another four long years with McCain.

Gayron Taylor   February 14th, 2008 10:26 am ET

Ron, TX

Seems like to me you are worried about Hillary starting to compete with Obama? You brag about his small states wins but can you tell me if he will carry Idaho, Utah, etc. The answer is no. Obama is giving all these boring speeches and I predict that people will see through this smoke screen.

Bob on Earth   February 14th, 2008 10:25 am ET

"Ron, TX" wrote: …she decide(s) she wants to act like she thinks every state counts…

Yeah, but she did leave her name on the ballot in Michigan and Florida; which indicates that cared more about what the people in those states cared about instead of what the Democratic Party.

Amy, Kazoo   February 14th, 2008 10:25 am ET

that's a misinformed statement. She's been in and sent representatives to other states too. Maybe you're just not a supporter, that's fine. but don't spread misinformation. A single person can not be in every state all the time.

And as for marginalizing states, I can thank Obama for doing that to Michigan. He didn't feel the need to do it to Florida, but for some reason, the state that is hurting the most in this nation doesn't matter to him.

Jim in FL   February 14th, 2008 10:25 am ET

Today we find out that Hillary is in the top 10 of Senators seeking earmarks, while Obama, with an amount only one-quarter that of Hillary's, is in the bottom 25%. McCain is at the very bottom, having sworn them off completely. You know Hillary "I am as I say I am, not as I do …. look this way please". Educate yourself America, and see that this woman is all smoke and mirrors.

Carolinas   February 14th, 2008 10:23 am ET

New poll out today showing Hillary leading double digits in Ohio, PA, and TX. CNN why aren't showing a headline with that???

Tina   February 14th, 2008 10:23 am ET

I live in Montana, and I think its great that they are now realizing that even the smaller states count, and can influence. Remember the last election? When a Democrat (Jon Tester) was elected to the Senate? It was one of the most closely watched battles throughout the country, and was part of turning of tables when it came to the Democratic Party taking over control of the Senate. The little people do count! I'm glad that Billary is coming here, however…I'm voting for Obama!

Chris, Orlando, FL   February 14th, 2008 10:21 am ET

GO HILLARY! YOU CAN DO IT!

Amy in Iowa   February 14th, 2008 10:20 am ET

If every state counts, I expect to see Hillary in that state. Not her husband and daughter. I am sick of this Clinton dynasty. Will Chelsea be next in line for the presidency?

Patrick, Fl   February 14th, 2008 10:18 am ET

It is simple. She did not expect she would need to be especially competitive in many small states. The campaign was all about putting the contest away on Super Tuesday.

They made a serious miscalculation!

Faye   February 14th, 2008 10:17 am ET

God Bless you Chelsea and may God keep you safe and give you strength to support your Mother through this. You have to have intestinal Fortitude to put up with all the negative Media your family endures. It just shows you have inner strength that comes from above.

Claude   February 14th, 2008 10:17 am ET

Big deal.

Adam   February 14th, 2008 10:14 am ET

I'm happy to see Senator Clinton making a stand and not just conseding to Oboma! I'm encouraged with the new direction her campaign is taking.
HILLARY 08!!!!!
Defete the Obomabots!

mina   February 14th, 2008 10:13 am ET

You go girl. Show what you are made of. Enough of this no substance Obama band wagon. Nation should sit calmly and reflect whether a "likable President vs a doable President is best now, since the country is way down in every respect from economy to foreign policy. Wake up America.

Zein   February 14th, 2008 10:11 am ET

Jesus Christ!
Hell naw!
After she went and had breakfast with a Super delegate in Wisconsin? And Now she is going to hawaii to have breakfast with another super delegate ? This Woman And her daughter are both Jokes!
Who Do they think they are fooling ? Clinton Needs to give up the fight that she is losing.

Obama 08!.

Sergio   February 14th, 2008 10:11 am ET

Lol , there's no way Clinton wins in Hawaii.

Obama Fired Up !

jennifer, Evergreen, CO   February 14th, 2008 9:52 am ET

I thought Hilary was running not Chelsea and/or Bill. Why does it count as Hilary campaigning when she sends her surrogates?

On a personal note, were I Chelsea I would have asked for that duty weeks ago!

JB   February 14th, 2008 9:52 am ET

She is not "off limits" anymore. She is in the public arena and trherefore the Clintons can't make the rules. Whic, is something they consistently try to do. Forcing others to play by their rules, like the debates.

So, with that said, how is it that she is able to take so much timeoff from work? Someone should investigate!

June for Hillary   February 14th, 2008 9:47 am ET

Chelsea's love for her mom is admirable. She is so shy and still willing to come out and campaign for her mom. She is setting a very good example for our children. Love and respect your parents, that 's the way it should be.

Kaptkarl   February 14th, 2008 9:46 am ET

If she's campaigning for her mother she's a public political figure and should get no special treatment from the media.

Asare   February 14th, 2008 9:44 am ET

I thought Chelsea said she doesn't campaign by talking but just shaking hands. I remember in Iowa, a young girl asked Chelsea a question and she replied to the girl that she doesn't talk. What happened?

Ron, TX   February 14th, 2008 9:39 am ET

Only after Clinton loses the past 8 states does she decide she wants to act like she thinks every state counts? Her campaign constantly marginalizes every state other than CA, NY, NJ, and MA by saying that they really don't matter. Obama has won 23 of 34 contests… she has a lot of catching up to do.

john   February 14th, 2008 9:37 am ET

yeh you go girl

boniface   February 14th, 2008 9:37 am ET

I guess some people should understand that politics is not meant for everyone.Somebody like chelsea is not a politician why not tell her to look for another career. Is it because her mom and dad are politician so she is trying to be like them, she is not a politician.Thanks.

democrat_2008   February 14th, 2008 9:36 am ET

Go CHELESEA!!! You a such a role model.

Peter Damoah-Afari   February 14th, 2008 9:35 am ET

Of course, it is her obligation to support her mother at this time that she is trying to occupy the first seat. All the same, my question is why Hillary does not seem to value delegates from smaller states. She is going to loose the front runner by all means to Obama.
