Aloha: Chelsea Clinton to campaign in Hawaii

Chelsea Clinton campaigned for her mother in California in early February.
Chelsea Clinton campaigned for her mother in California in early February.

(CNN) - As part of the Clinton campaign's declared effort to fight for every delegate in every state, Chelsea Clinton is heading to Hawaii, Barack Obama's home turf, according to a Clinton campaign source. She'll spend three days, including this weekend, campaigning there.

The Clinton campaign has been criticized for not competing in the smaller states and caucuses, but is now trying to adjust their strategy. A campaign source says they are not focused only on Texas and Ohio.

On conference call Wednesday, Clinton staffer Guy Cecil said the campaign would now be hiring staffers and opening field offices in several states with upcoming contests they had not devoted resources to before, including Montana and Wyoming.

Hillary Clinton has been endorsed by Sen. Daniel K. Inouye of Hawaii, and will be doing satellite interviews with Hawaiian TV today.

A campaign source says Chelsea has proven to be an effective campaigner and they see a strong correlation between Chelsea's visits and improved performance.

At this point, says one campaign source, it's a delegate fight, and even narrowing a loss has a huge impact.

This cycle Chelsea campaigned for her mother in California – the first state where Clinton won the youth vote. The rural congressional district where Chelsea campaigned in Nebraska outperformed others in the state. So far this cycle, Chelsea Clinton has campaigned in at least 15 states.

I think this is great!! Shame on all of you who accuse the Clinton campaign of "using" Chelsea. She is proud of her mother and wants to do what she can to help her! Go Chelsea!!

I'm tired of Hillary rats misspelling and insulting Obama people on these boards. Next time you are at the Wal-Mart shopping pick up a dictionary BEFORE going to the Dunkin Donuts. Keep your insults to the people who are for the candidates to yourselves. You are free to insult the candidates e.g. Hillary can't keep that dog Bill on a leash, Chelsea is a poor speaker, etc., etc. BUT, lay-off of people who don't agree with you personally. I HATE HILLARY and BILL; but that does NOT give you the right to insult me personally. I could say you are blue-collar hillbillies. I grew -up in NW Pennsylvania, and had the pleasure of you fine folks from Eastern Ohio visiting for vacation. I know the hillbilly-hootenanny all too well. Keep it to yourselves.

Why is CNN not showing that Clinton is leading in both Ohio and Pennsylvania. The leads are quite big but we are not hearing anything about them. I suppose that will too much positive news for Clinton because everything I read on her is so negative. If Obama had been leading it would be top news. Why don't CNN gave a fair share of postive news for Clinton. Stop being so biased.

Go Clinton go. I am with you 100%.

Why is it when Hillary was ahead of the delegate count, the media dubbed them as "neck and neck"? And now that Obama is ahead he's the "front runner"? Apparently, nothing scares people more than an extremely intelligent lady president. She is bound to outdo all her predecessors. Hillary is more qualified and everybody knows it! Stop the media bias, please.

I gotta say that Clinton family is powerful man! They're everywhere for crying out loud. But you know what? At least Hillary is trying no matter what but of course is her daughter helping her. But at least she wants to "try" to say the least. And to be honest guys, EVERY state counts, why? Because everyone wants to have a say.......

I gotta say having "solutions" is better than having "promises". But do you know what "solutions" means compare to my boys "promises"???? They're all the same and solutions is what I have heard these last 8 years, not promises.

But you can't go wrong with either one though. Each one represents a whole different ideology and approach. But when someone has solutions that means they got the answers but when someone says they have the answers(or promises), they have solutions.....

I don't know, a promise to me is the same as a solution but in a different context. How??? Solutions talk too much while promises are made..................but overall, is still the same though. And you know what? These last 8 years all I hear was solutions not promises and I do want to see something different, not the same.

But you're trying Hillary, you're trying. Keep it up girl, keep it up!

Democrat_2008 how can you declare chelsea clinton a role model, Sydney Rieckhoff, a Cedar Rapids fourth grader and “kid reporter” for Scholastic News, was turned down recently on the campaign trail by chelsea clinton when the 4th grader asked chelsea if she thought her dad would make a good "first man" in the white house she simply responded to the 9 year old saying "I dont do press interviews" RIDICULOUS

I guess its ok for Obama's wife to campaign for him but Chelsea can't for her mon? Obama wife said on ABC she would not vote for a Dem unless it's her man. This is the way to unite the country, what a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Obama is ahead because he has 80 – 90% black vote. Not because he is some 'super hero'

How can one campaign, yet refuse to do interviews with the press? This seems highly incongruent. I realize that a politician's family often campaigns for him or her; however, those family members do not barricade themselves from the press. Campaigning=doing press.

  17. Cuacus = Peer pressure fest!

You hit it on the head Suzyn: "Solutions, not promises!" Promises is what GW Bush ran on in 2000, and guess how many of those promises came to fruition. ZERO! Can this country really afford another leader who doesn't deliver. We need a leader who gets things done. Obama is not that person. Go check for yourselves, and I mean not what he's done in his ginourmous 1yr as a US senator; and, not opposing the war in iraq as not a member of congress... hell I opposed the war, be then again I didn't have the info a U.S. Senetor is privy too now did I ( neither did Obama).

HILLARY REALLY IS A GREAT LEADER:
    1. SHE WAS RIGHT TO VOTE FOR THE WAR
    2. SHE WAS RIGHT NOT TO APOLOGIZE FOR THAT VOTE
    3. SHE WAS RIGHT TO VOTE WITH BUSH ON IRAN
HER JUDGEMENT IS JUST " RIGHT- ON"

This is a great sign of how Hillary is going to run her govt. She listens, and make adjustments as needed for the people. Unlike some people who talk, and talk, and give empty speeches all over the place to further their political agenda.

People should take a good look here between Hillary Clinton and Obama. With all the problems this country has at this time, Hillary is the only person with a plan better than Bill Clinton's to get the economy back on track. Everyone wants to get on the popular band wagon without looking at qualifications and actual hard work. Hillary is the only candidate that is smart enough to get the country back on track.

I just heard a sound bite on local radio of Senator Clinton telling a crowd that "My opponent doesn't have any experience creating jobs..."

Please enlighten us Hill, when have you ever created a job for someone? Other than campaign managers (which your opponent has also done...and might I add, met payroll while they were in his employ unlike you) she hasn't. In fact, she's been instrumental in supporting policies that have shipped jobs out of the country.

Unfortunately, the majority of her supporters are dolts that will just believe what she says and not do the math.

You Hillary supporters are just plain ignorant fools. You have drank the Clinton Kool Aid and will turn a blind eye to all the facts about Queen Hillary and her Court Jester Bill, and now her Maiden-in-Training Chelsea.

I for one am sick of the Clintons; sick of 'all promise, no delivery'; sick of the divisiveness; sick of the pandering; sick of everything they are about.

The country needs new blood, new life, new hope. Not more of the same 1990's "let the good times roll, even if the fundamentals are crumbling beneath us" mentality. We need help and vision, not a Clinton monarchy. And we certainly do NOT need large lobbying interests putting their queen in the White House and then extracting their paybacks (out of yours and my paychecks, mind you...).

So Chelsea is actively campaiging for her mom now. Thats so sweet. If Hillary was half pretty as Chelsea she would have been won the nomination. If Chelsea was fighting for the nomination i would vote for her, until then" Go Obama"

Great to hear this upbeat news about the Clinton campaign. Hope the next couple of weeks will bring a lot more substance to the political discussion along with fairer treatment of the Clinton campaign by CNN.
