I never thought I'd be part of something as big or as important as this race. I made several small financial donations to Mike's campaign along the way, but I felt especially compelled to contribute more after hearing McCain's high-profile endorsements, one after another, attempt to convince people like myself that coronation is in the best interest of the Republican Party. As far as I’m concerned, McCain has not yet achieved the number of votes needed to have the party’s nomination and coronation is not acceptable or necessary to winning in November – all that double-talk is hockey. What we need is someone who is willing to dig-in heals and put up a tough fight against our November opponents; we need someone who shows true grit in the eyes of socialist slogans like “Yes We Can” and can defeat a party that is fraught with strong rhetoric promising its followers the world using other people’s money… I would rather loose against my opponent with pride rather than go down in shame having accepted defeat. Each vote for Mike, in my view, demonstrates the power of determination as if the last moment on this planet depended on it.

I am a Huckabee supporter because I believe he has the most integrity, intelligence and creative answers to the problems of our nation, like health care, education, and the economy. The fair tax alone would be great for our country!!!!

There are so many misconceptions and lies out there about Huckabee, all stemming from an election year in Arkansas, when the largely Democratic state tried to find dirt on him to keep him out of office. It didn't work, as he was re-elected twice. Anyone can bring charges to an ethics committee, but that doesn't make them true. The bottom line is none stuck.

The story of his son, who went on to become an eagle scout, has been concocted. There was a mangy dog that appeared "mad" and attacking. Huckabee never tried to stop any investigation or to protect his son from consequences of the incident.

Huckabee did not pardon a rapist. That was done by the parole board appointed by Bill Clinton and Guy Tucker before him. As for his other decisions as governor, he looked carefully at each of the many cases and followed his judgment after studying all the information, rather than just doing what was "in his best political interests." I respect that.

Over a million abortions a year is about right, because there have been 40 million since Roe vs Wade in Sept. 1973. To those who say a woman should have a choice, what about her unborn baby's choice? Someone needs to speak up for these precious ones. The question is when does life begin? If it begins at conception, then it is murder when a baby is aborted. Have you looked at the detail in advanced 4D ultrasounds of today? It breaks my heart to think 40 million of these tiny lives have been snuffed out since Roe vs Wade.

I agree with keep us safe texas. I worry about any candidate who tells the world that we need to bring our troops home. Terrorists will claim victory and make plans on how to attack a defeated nation who will not come after them. I fear the possibility of this happening.

You're an independent American, aren't you? Don't be fooled into obeying someone campaigning against your man just because they say your man won't win. I thought Huck wouldn't have won my state, but I voted for him anyway. I'm from Iowa, and he definitely won my state.
I thought he wouldn't win Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, or Kansas, but I made calls to people in those states for Huckabee anyway. And he won those states. The polls said he wouldn't win in those states, but we supporters did what we could to get the word out about Mike, and he won in those states. And we haven't stopped.
We still have a voice, if we're willing to use it.

I am concerned that although thousands of people did not vote in the Primaries in Florida based on agreed terms "Hillary" and the democratic party; but, now that "SUPER TUESDAY" did not give Hillary Clinton what she expected, she is now requesting that the votes in Florida be counted regardless of those that believed that ethics ruled and stayed home and did not vote. Is this the kind of President that you can trust to uphold the "LAW", "RULE", "POLICY" and "ETHICS"; no wonder we are in war that the people did not authorize.

But let nobody think that 34,000,000 (!) women in the US during the last 30 years have been raped or where in life danger and therefore carried out an abortion. I gotta say that even though I completely disagree with his platform and system of beliefs (I'm an Obama supporter), Huckabee sure is a likable guy. I can't think of any presidential candidate that has been this 'real' (approachable, witty, relaxed etc...) since Bill Clinton in 92'. I don't think he's being ignorant in staying in the race or trying to be some sort of spoiler. I think he is using his influence to shape the campaign (similar to Ron Paul, just more mainstream) and to force McCain to appeal/recognize the conservative base.

Bush won because of the evangelicals and religious groups. I wonder about Huckabee real character. I just can't buy it.

I so agree with you. It amazes me and it shouldn't, that those who find fault with Mike Huckabee seem to be worried about a man whom they profess doesn't have a chance. Additionally, for all those anti Mike folks out there, grow up, get a life and by all means vote for whomever you choose. Most Huckabee opponents don't have a clue. Poison criticism versus fact, hearsay versus research is not an optimal methods of choosing a political candidate. The more I watch this race the more I'm reminded of the voting process for King and Queen of the Senior Prom. Truly sad. I wish there were more seriously thoughtful offerings about any of these candidates. Huckabee is the only candidate not being paid by us–the taxpayers–to run for President. Though the other candidates are having a breeze on the stump while we work to pay their plush healthcare benefits and pay them for the votes they are NOT making on the Senate floor, Huckabee still has to squeeze out money to pay for his mortgage and his healthcare plan. He, in fact, makes speeches to these places in order to pay his bills. And also to pay Barack Obama and Hilary Clinton and John McCain for the service they are NOT rendering to America because they are choosing to lift themselves in the polls rather than fight for what they talk about in the Senate.
(In fact, Mr. Cafferty of the Situation Room reported recently that John McCain chose not to vote on the Stimulus Package in the Senate. Why, might I ask? Might I suggest that his poll-ratings could have taken a hit had he chosen yay or nay? He exhibited a grand amount of strength and "Straight Talk" there, didn't he? I think not.)
The Cayman Islands speech was planned months ago, and in my opinion is not news. At the very least, it's news because it shows that Huckabee is the only one still having to work and pay taxes as a regular citizen.
Even Ron Paul is campaigning on the taxpayers money because he is a congressman.

Universal Health Care program should not require any mandates that everyone should buy health insurance. It should be available to anyone who needs medical attention.
No insurance needed. It can be funded by the same provisions as the medicare and actually replace the medicare program with unviersal health care. The tax funding of the universal health care will be cheaper for the taxpayer then having the same payer pay for medicare and buy his or her own medical insurance as well.
That is what true universal health care is.
No rocket scientist needed here. Or for that matter an economist is not needed here either.

I decided not to vote for Huckabee after he lied about his rival's positions and after constantly making mean, cheap shots about another candidate every chance he gets. He seems so hate filled. Plus, he has shown poor judgment by pardoning over 1000 felons and by encouraging the release of a rapist who then went out and raped and killed a girl. That and his flip-flops on immigration and taxes are too much to take. Huckabee is a disaster and his unwillingness to get out of the race when McCain will win unless he dies, just shows you he is in it for himself and not the important causes of the party.

One candidate I haven't been able to find enough info on to know where he REALLY stands is Obama, which is why I find it ludicrous that people would support him. Huckabee supporters are so delusional. It's a good thing they aren't going to have anyone to vote for in November. They can stay home and thump their Bibles, while the rest of us go and choose between two secular candidates - just like our foundfing farthers wanted us to.

Does it really matter whether or not Huckabee knows how to bowl? We've already had 8 years with a President most people said they would like to share a beer with. I'm more interested in his past record as govenor and what he intends to do about our economy.

I like to see an under dog try as hard as he can to make a seemingly impossible come from behind win, even if he looses, the effort is inspiring.

I live in AR while he was governor and no he didn't force to attend church if that's what you are asking. Mike's the only that offers fresh ideas (health care & fair tax for examples) compare to McCain. Too many Americans are willing to vote for a candidate without looking closely at his/her record. And though Obama might be a great speaker he has nothing to offer except pulling out of Iraq speech which trust it won't happen.

I voted for Huckabee because of his sincere moral grounding and common sense approach to tackling the issues. I felt that he would be able to bring a lot of good strong discussion to the table either with Clinton or Obama even if he didn't win the general election. He came across in the debates better than any of the other candidates. Unfortunately, he didn't have the financial and political clout. Plus too many people are afraid of his unashamed faith.

I believe on General Election day there will be not one red state in the union if it's McCain vs. Obama.

I think Huck stand on Religion doomed him. But if he wasn't such a neophyte on such issues he'd make a great President. Yes showing you are willing to be normal person helps you being qualified as President. We could use a normal guy in office again.

Wow, I cannot believe how negative some of you people view Huckabee. I disagree with a majority of his position on the issues and I would not vote for him, but he's one of the most genuine people I've seen run for public office in a long time. Some of you need to gain a sense of humor and humanity.

If there is one thing I have learned from this campaign, it is how much hate there is out there.
Many bloggers who support their candidates write inteligent supporting things about their choice . Too many spew out hate against the candidate
they oppose.
It makes me wonder if all this hatred is so imbeded in so many people,
that it partially explains all these sensless murders on school grounds,
and places like McDonalds restaurants etc.
We live in a wonderfull country . Where does all this hate come from?
I wish all these hate mongers would sit down and pray to whatever god
they believe in to help them get rid of this evil.
Every single candidate from the very beginning of this race are good decent Americans..

We've already had 8 years with a President most people said they would like to share a beer with. I could care less if the Huckster knows how to bowl or how often he gets on his knees to pray. I'm more interested in his past record as govenor and what he intends to do about our economy.

The comments against Mike show this country why we need someone with his faith, his honesty and his humor. The negative comments are made by people who have never seen civility, don't recognize a gentleman's attitude and have listened to too many partisans to recognize what unity really is.

Huckabee needs to stop wasting people's hard earned money and call it a day. He's not going to win, and he needs to stop being delusional and irresponsible.

Anyone who attacks Governor Huckabee's intelligence has not been following this race very closely and speaks with little knowledge themselves. I mean, any presidential candidate has a leg up on the intelligence scale. I did not support Mitt Romeny, but I never thought he was a moron. It's just that Huckabee seems to rank higher on the common sense scale when put next to anyone else running for presidents. Americans aren't used to seeing that.

And you have to admit that there are 3 senators in this election who are all getting a salary as they campaign. So who really cares that the only non-senator took a day to earn a paycheck. I mean, who cares? How could any working American have a problem with that? This hypocritical attitude and this cynicism is just so disappointing.

Leisure activities that any presidential candidate participates in, even instrument playing, is a comment on personality. Huckabee isn't stuffy. He has a certain musical talent, can bowl. Sure, he could hide his personality–not mention that he plays an instrument–in order to fit a predisposed image that others have. So the guy actually has a personality. I really don't think that counts against him. At this point in the race, a little light activity is refreshing.

Just check out Huckabee and do yourself a great favor.

I can't help it. I really like Mike Huckabee. Even if his chances are very slim, I'm still gonna vote for him in NC.

I find it very illuminating that Mike Huckabee is talking about the "future of the Republican Party." You hear that alot from McCain and Romney, too. I thought these candidates were all supposed to be running for president of the whole UNITED STATES! The Republican Party has become the party of pandering to the base, 50.1%, divide and rule politics. Until they do some serious soul searching and recognize the mess that George W. Bush has made of this country, and that we need SOLUTIONS, they deserve to be left out in the cold.

Let the guy make some money. Being a person of faith does not make you stupid. I am voting for HILLARY CLINTON but I respect a guy who as figured out that the Bible does not say anything about capital gains tax cuts.

I think we could do a lot worse than to have Huckabee as President. That said, he is not the candidate I'm currently supporting. His chance at getting nominated is incredibly slim. At this point, his best bet is to get picked up as a VP.

Mike Huckabee has my vote!!! What a great guy!!! If he is not a threat why all the nasty comments! Why do you even bother reading an article about him if you despise him that much! Mike Huckabee will make a great President. If you would take the time to look at his record, he is truly the most qualified to run our country. WE LOVE YOU MIKE!!!!

The attacks on Huckabee never cease to amaze me. Basically doing nothing other than to insult him, his state, and his faith in God.

That and sour grapes -or more likely – those pretending sour grapes so they can be ugly to him while making it appear that they are Mormons. That way they can slam two enemies at once – Huckabee and Mormons by making Mormons appear bigoted.

My wife's Grandmother was a Mormon and I for one don't believe these people are Mormons at all! After all, Mormons and Huckabee share values both being pro-family, pro-life advocates. And Mormons don't behave at all like these hate mongers. Their drival is an insult to real Mormons.

Journalism 101 should have taught you that it is not, in fact, "ironic" that Janet Huckabee's maiden-name was "McCain". "Coincidently..." would have been the correct choice of words. Irony seems to be a most misunderstood concept, sadly, even for journalists who should be adept in the English language.

Huckabee should announce at noon that he is dropping out so that erpub's can shift over and vote for Obama .
