(CNN) — Hillary Clinton is charging her own campaign interest on the $5 million she loaned it in the run-up to the Super Tuesday contests.

According to financial disclosure forms filed today with the Federal Elections Commission, the New York senator is charging her campaign an interest rate of 1.26 percent, far less than a bank would charge.

It is standard practice for politicians to charge their campaigns interest — although former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney did not charge his campaign interest on an $8.5 million loan he made in the third quarter of 2007.

In the days after Clinton’s loan to her own campaign became public, the news proved to be a fundraising boon for her presidential effort. As of February 21, the senator’s campaign has not yet paid her back.
