AUSTIN, Texas (CNN) - Clinton just made an effective argument against John McCain: Though the Arizona senator is a champion against wasteful spending, Clinton pointed to his support for the Bush tax cuts and the war in Iraq - both colossal expenditures unpopular with most Democrats.Obama isn't the only one eager to go head to head with McCain.
– CNN Senior Political Analyst Bill Schneider

I'm sorry but thats a first for Clinton. She new she needed a new approach. And that is what she did ending the debate nice. But quite honestly she was full of it. and its more than obvious.
Hillary won that debate!
I am so glad she looks out for others!
Boos do not come from college educated people at a debate. Who were those people?
She won't get a chance by what the polls look like. Even if she takes OH and TX Obama will be ahead in pledge delegates. If she we to get the nomination using the super-delegates the democratic party would be split literally. It would ruin the dems for quite some time. McCain would be our next president most likely. The dem party will not let that happen, I seriously doubt they will let it go much more after TX/OH/RI. I suspect the party would make one step down.
That Clinton closing was a perfect 10. I am a cynical political junky but she had me convinced.
Hillary had a great close, but not enough to win the debate. Obama has clearly grown in debate. He had clear, substantive answers and good responses to her challenges. She really blew it on the plagiarism issue. Nothing happened tonight that will turn the race around.
Hillary lost this debate. She was booed during the debate. People are seeing that she is throwing dirty and cheap shots and thats not the type of debate the American people want to see
Hillary won this debate – and the standing ovation SHE RECEIVED proved it.

schneider, you are as slanted as the people who write your paycheck. get in the game. listen to what is being said. she gave several reasons why she would be ready to be commander-in-chief and you have just plainly ignored them.

As I expected, all of my comments are not being posted. schneider is picking and choosing and slanting toward obama just as the people who write his paycheck. nuff said about fairness.
Clinton wins on health care and outro. Obama wins everywhere else.
Obama finally showed he's ready on day one!
THIS swing voter in OHIO just decided for Obama!
Wow! Hilary is back! A standing ovation....and the horrified look on Obama's face...priceless!
The debate overall had so few highlights – I'm so pleased Hillary ended like she did. That was awesome – she is so tough. She's ready for the White House.
Bill, Thanks for your running comments. I'd have to give this debate to Hillary. I think Hillary finished strong. Obama started very weak and was strong in the middle.
Hillary didnt win this debate. She threw a lot of stones that didnt hit. Obama focussed on the issues, not on trash talk. Remember the boos.
Obama showed poise and the strength with being on top.
McCain would defeat Hillary because of electability. She would turn away many repubs, where as Obama would pull them (especially with the christian right angry with McCain)....Obama would pull independnets.
Let's see if Obama's frontman, Bill Schneider, acknowledges how incredibly good Senator Clinton's final statement was.
Hill has the best chance of going toe to toe with McCain, period. She has stood against the republican attack machine and media not only in this race but a good majority of her political career. Little they say now can really shock us. When Obama's dirty little secrets are revealed in the public eye he'll go home running with his tail in between his legs.
OB look shocked and surprised at the strength of HC's closing – almost child like – kid with his hand in the cookie jar look.
didn't obama also show pride. he told hilary what accomphlishements that he had made after hilary made the statement that he did nothing. ...
It's ironic that she complains about McCain's spending on the war, she has supported the spending the entire time.
I must admit she pulled out an 'emotional victory' with the end of the debate, but Latina is right, she has to rely on the boo-hoo-ing to 'win'
Obviously, she won this debate. Lets see if CNN can tell the truth for once. And here's a question? Why does every picture of Obama on your site look like a model, and every picture of Hillary has her with her mouth open or something. Play fair!
Texas....vote for the right and ready candidate. Vote for the best at tonite's debate..hands down...that's Hillary!
Obama, def is not looking to criticize but to bring true change. He def won this.
Hillary is the clear leader. Obama step aside. Actually being President is much different than your 'American Idol' performances. We can't afford your inexperience at this time in the country
Hilary dominated this debate, she brought out her emotion and her fundamental reason for running in this campaign. Go Hilary!
She rocks!!!
