Obama said Saturday there would be more pressure on him to drop out if he had lost as many contests as Clinton.
Obama said Saturday there would be more pressure on him to drop out if he had lost as many contests as Clinton.

(CNN) - Hillary Clinton's campaign says it remains upbeat about the New York senator's White House chances, but rival Barack Obama said Saturday he would likely be treated differently if his campaign had suffered a similar string of losses as her's.

Asked in Ohio by a reporter if he would be treated differently had he lost as many contests as Clinton, Obama said, "Yes."

But Obama said he understands why the treatment is different, saying it would require a knockout blow for Clinton to quit because she's "part of the Democratic network in Washington."

"Look, I'm the challenger, I'm the upstart," he said. "I'm the insurgent - she's, she's the champ. She's part of the Democratic network in Washington and, you know, if you're the title holder then you don't lose it on points. You got to be knocked out."

After essentially tying Obama in the string of states that voted February 5, Clinton has suffered 11 straight losses to the Illinois senator, most recently in the Democrats abroad contest earlier this week.

In a conference call with reporters earlier Saturday, Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson denied reports some Clinton backers feel Obama has all but locked up the nomination, and said voters in the March 4 primary contests won't base their vote on his string of victories.

"The mood is upbeat, Sen. Clinton is working hard everyday," he said. "Momentum is a media storyline, but that is not an issue on which voters vote."

UPDATE: An earlier version of this report incorrectly stated Obama said he would quit if he had lost as many contests as Clinton.

Obama accuses Hillary of being “part of the Democratic network in Washington.” Is he saying he is not part of and/or is not going to be part of it? May I ask how does he propose to achieve the great “Change You Can Believe In” he speaks of? Is he going to do it all by himself without any help from fellow members of the Democratic Party? The previous administration will have left many, many problems to be solved.

I do expect Democrats to pick up some more seats in both houses in the coming elections but I do not think it will be enough for the 60 votes required in the Senate to force a vote on a bill. He is going to need every Democrat vote and more. He is going to need votes from Republicans if he is to make any change that amounts to anything.

The Republicans will still be in the Congress and they will still have their agenda that they will try to push. To get their help, what Democratic issue is he going change or drop in order to get support for some other issue? Does he really think that Mitch McConnell is going to help get the Republicans to hold hands with the Democrats and make “Change You Can Believe In”?

Obama says he will sit down and talk with the Health Care, Pharmaceutical companies and other corporations. Does he really think that talking with them will really have any effect? They will do nothing until they are forced into it.

Obama makes great speeches but he seems to want to get along with everyone, even Republicans, too much to be a dedicated fighter for Democratic positions. He has spoken very highly of both the Republican Party and Ronald Reagan.

John Edwards is one who I would have had complete faith in to fight with everything he had and he has demonstrated that he can and will fight. Hillary Clinton would fight for she believes in. I just cannot get that faith for Obama. He is too much like a river that is a mile wide and ankle deep.

Can anyone explain to me what that catchphrase “Change You Can Believe In” means? It must be a marketers’ dream. It is easily repeated and has a certain. rhythm. No one can tell you what it means but anyone can make it mean anything one wants.

Wait until Hillary wins Ohio and Texas and probably Vermont and Rhode Island. If Obama lost CA, NY and NJ and if he loses Ohio, Texas and possibly Pennsylvania, why should he be the nominee?
Hillary won FLorida even though Obama has commercials on in Florida. If Ohio and Texas go for CLinton, Obama will have to fight to get the nomination. There is no way the Democratic Party big shots will not back Clinton as nominee if she wins Ohio, Texas and Pennsylvania.

God/Allah, he is really over-confident for someone only ahead by 100 delegates, give or take. I hope his worst fear – that one – comes true.

Stacy   February 23rd, 2008 8:23 pm ET

I saw the interview on CNN this afternoon. He NEVER said he would quit if he was her. CNN-Post something official on this, please. The video of the interview would be good, for starters.

It's crazy how you people follow Obama simply because the "Media" has favorite him. It's practically an a cult following that will lead to the down fall of the US! He is all "promises" without any real answers! If you stop and actually to him for once, you will see he's empty. Exactly what good would that be for the US? Get real the President cannot make ANY real changes without Congress!! He's running a smear campaign "off' camera.... how is that change??? Same old politics.

pete   February 23rd, 2008 8:21 pm ET

Every one knows Obama got a free media ride, as soon as his "superdelegate" Ophra endorsed him! He plays the same Wahsington games, and if hispanics think an African American will do anything for them. You must be dreaming. He has not done nothing for us in Chicago, he will not even take our calls. He does a lot for his people!

Arnod   February 23rd, 2008 8:21 pm ET

Why do you think send this mailer to the people of Ohio?
What? He does *not* support NAFTA ? Hardly....

Obama was the first presidential candidate to officially declare his support for NAFTA expansion moving through Congress. He said :

"I believe that expanding trade and breaking down barriers
between countries is good for our economy and for our security, for
American consumers and American workers."

So what was his intention with this mailer if not imply to Ohio voters that
he is against it and that it is Sen. Clinton's fault that people loss their jobs?

Sen. Clinton outrage is correct: you cannot run a campaign based on "unity" and
on ending the "old divisions" ( Bush's mantra as well) and all those beautiful
words of change and hope and sneak behind mailers full of innuendo
to scare the he- out of people and not vote for Clinton. It is instilling fear and
then telling people in Ohio to vote for him based on these fears.

Definitely negative, divisive and the same dirty politics "as usual" being played by Sen. Obama.

It debunks his mantras, and his whole theory for running.

So, yes, shame on him.

steve   February 23rd, 2008 8:21 pm ET

The first version of this piece that was reported earlier was done to give BARACK OBAMA a black eye and was done deliberately.
This is press trying to manipulate the human mind. God will do his grace for him.

Pat   February 23rd, 2008 8:21 pm ET

It's disheartening to see Democrats spewing venon at each other like this. You got two great candidates this year. Instead of helping the best man or woman get nominated, you end up dividing up the party with so mcuh bickering.

It's also very sad to see so much criticism on the media, crying foul whenever an article appears remotely critical of its candidate. I read the articles carefully, followed the speeches, read each candidate's website, and I believe I will make what I think is the best decision when it comes to my vote. I think that is behaving responsibly as a voter. Listen carefully, and make a well-informed choice. The literature, information, each candidate's beliefs, thoughts and proposals – they are all out there, if the voter care to look. It's just wrong to call decent folks doing their jobs every day 'irresponsible' or 'biased' when you haven't done your part.

I really believe that, as a voter, it is 'irresponsible' to not do your own research and make an informed decision to vote. After all, it is the candidate that the Americans have to live with for the next four years, for better or for worse. It is really not just about today's news, or this month's polls, or next month's primaries. It is about many more years of American lives. Please stop this bickering in the blogs. Listen, talk less, use your vote wisely. And stop slamming the media.

PS I know this comment won't be posted. I just want CNN to know that you are doing a great job. I don't think you are biased, I think most of your articles are fairly accurate and accurately reflect ground sentiments, and I don't see this as anything remotely 'irresponsible'.

Judging from Obama's way debating, I would venture to say that he is not really controlling his campaign. The machine behind him is controlling him.

I think i hear the Wahhhmbulance coming for all the Hillary supporters. Quit your crying and realize hillary is a joke. Funny how things have to get negative from clinton and her supporters when she and Obama are tied in the polls. Not to mention he's beating her in delegates. Obama has not changes his message or tone in this race from day one. Hillary's changes depending on the polls. She feels the pressure now she has to get negative.

Marissa B   February 23rd, 2008 8:18 pm ET

From the start Hilary under estimated Obama. You can tell my watching her mannerisms in the debates. She is being out shined and smarted by Obama. Hilary is constanting trying to start a fight, and Obama has been far more civil and level headed.

Obama's going all the way in 2008

Sharon Vrla   February 23rd, 2008 8:18 pm ET

You know, I went into this democratic debate with an open mind. I really wanted to see who Obama was and what his solutions were. However, all I have heard him do is point out what the problems are and that they need to be addressed in a way to eradicate them. All I have heard is him stating the obvious without offering any specifics on how to change these problems in a realistic way. Unfortunately, for him, he is full of rhetoric. I wanted it to be different. The more I hear him talk, the less I want to hear.

Shocked   February 23rd, 2008 8:18 pm ET

I'm kind of shocked that so many people are blaming this on Obama. This is CNN's fault for erroneously reporting what happened. It was CNN that misquoted Obama. They have since corrected their error.

I am shocked at the people who are upset that it might just have been Obama's camp that told CNN of their error and asked that it be corrected. If ANY of you were in his position and one of the worlds MAJOR news reporting agencies misquoted you in a way that cast you in a very negative light you to would ask that it be corrected. How many of you have done this already when a friend says something about you that isn't correct? How much more right does Obama have to correct the media what they misquote him then?

Had they misquoted Clinton, the same thing would have happened. Her camp would have asked that it be corrected as well. So I'm not sure why so many people are up in arms over this. This isn't some elaborate coverup or a media hoax or anything... it is simply a correction. Retractions and corrections are printed daily in thousands of papers across the world.

A modicum of relaxation is in order people. Lest we forget, reporters and editors are human too.

Like I said before the the article was changed.

The way this campaign is progressing, I'm surprised that Barak doesn't realize that the democratic party is split and that if HRC doesn't win the democratic nomination, then we won't be supporting him no matter how much Hillary campaigns with him. In fact, many of us have decided to support John McCain if he wins.

Alex   February 23rd, 2008 8:17 pm ET

Some Hillary supporters are funny, they fill these spaces with comments saying that Obama supporters are so crazy about Obama that they will divide the party, and than they say that if he wins the nomination they will vote for McCain or write Hillary's name in the ballot

Mary- KS   February 23rd, 2008 8:17 pm ET

Once again, the focus is off of "Obama" for stealing her Economic Plan, for flip-flopping on his views of the war (he said he wasn't sure how he would have voted if he had had to vote) now he's Mr. Anti-War candidate. We are focusing on this fluff but missing the real point.

Obama-ethics plan….. he only opened up 2007 records (odd, don't you think)
Obama- signed a pledge with McCain on campaign financing…. is now backing out (odd, don't you think)
Obama- said he would meet with world leaders without milestones but then said that preparation and expectations would be necessary (flip-flop)
Obama- has presented himself as the candidate of change and of rhetoric, but isn't the creator of either…. it's one thing to have great speech writers… it is far different to present yourself as the creator of material
Obama- has not represented his district in Chicago; just check it out for yourself and ask ordinary people in his district
Obama- says that he wants to get rid of Old Washington, but has Ted Kennedy, John Kerry etc etc….. how much older can you get?
Obama- says his health care is Universal…. definitely not so
Obama- says that he has a record to be proud of…. yes, if your sole purpose of every vote is to gain constituency for your next run at a political office

Obama- has VERY shady ties to Rezko and mislead the American people by acting as if they were not friends for 17+ years in the debate with Clinton. There is a big difference between doing 5-7 hours of law work and having Rezko Slime as a major campaign fundraiser and connection with the underground of politics in Chicago…. he basically lied to us about that relationship

Whenever Hillary tries to point to these facts so that the American people can make an educated decision, she is booed and insulted. Since when do we want to baby the Commander and Chief of the free world? Obama needs to answer for his decisions… not be coddled by the media. It isn't Obama- bashing, it is facts searching.

Just remember one thing, life is really short, and what goes around comes right back around, so you and your family members will be hated just as much as you hate Barrack Obama. Your kids will be hated just as much as you hate Barrack Obama. I'd be very careful in a thunder storm if I was you.

If you would stop and really take a few minutes to listen he doesn't say anything about most of his plans . People like you have no idea what it takes to be in the white house. Obama is not ready for it. Once again OBAMA IS NOT READY FOR THE WHITE HOUSE>

Peter Obama08!   February 23rd, 2008 8:16 pm ET

Hillary was outraged this afternoon just for nothing. |She said " since when does Democrats attack each other on health care plans? She started the attacks on Obama health care plan, " Obama health care will leave out 15 million people witout health care."
She said that in last debate on Thursday Feb 21 2008.
She now know how it feels when someone attacked you.
NICE TRY HILLARY, you think people are not following this campaign closely?
I think next time OBAMA CAMP Post it that Hillary said in Texas that she is waiting on OBAMA to come meet her in Texas with Boxing Clove, she will cry out again, but all these acticle about Hillary are true.
Obama will never comeup with something that is not factaully accurate.

Come on! Sen Obama. You just lost my vote. I am democrat but I will vote for McCain. You stole the speak from someone. When you got caught, then you said "it does not matter". Why didn't you say that your friend shared idea with you before you got caught?????????? You also said it does not matter. You meant it does not matter when someone steals something!!!! "SHAME ON YOU, Sen Obama"

I DON'T THINK I COULD BUY A POST   February 23rd, 2008 8:14 pm ET

Obama publicly claims to take the "high road", then quietly sends out false mailers. He builds himself up by putting Hillary down for doing the same thing he does. If he can't stand the heat of Hillary's pattycake taps just wait until after he gets the nomination, and the Republicans go after him. The first thing they are going to bring out is Larry Sinclair. While I admit that I don't think that is really any of our business (except for the drug part, because that would prove him a liar) it will definitely turn off some voters.

Sam   February 23rd, 2008 8:14 pm ET

Look how CNN changes the title of this article, the first title looked bad for Obama and now it has been changed to look more in his favour. Obama is already becoming of those dirty politicians who take advantage of opportunity. We are blaming Bush for the bad economy and all the problems in the world, I don't believe Obama will win the nomination or against McCaine, but if he does, the United States will see the worst of economy and it's reputation in the world.

Wake up voters, don't vote someone who had not achieved or done anything for the country. America will become the third world country under Obama. Obama is not better than rappers Eminen or 50 Cents who enjoy the attention by today's young generation who are utterly ridiculous.

Mary   February 23rd, 2008 8:14 pm ET

Here is my thinking...

Obama wants this to end quickly b/c he knows that the media love affair will start to come to an end. So he throws this type of stuff out there to fan the flame. (he continually has an air of condescension when I listen to him, IMHO)

The reality is that he has received incredibly positive media press that will not sustain. Clinton on the flipside has been the target of the media. I am amazed how she has kept it this close given that the media has tried to coronate him several times already. I woudl not count her out.

RedSea Foreign National   February 23rd, 2008 8:14 pm ET

Regardless of how he is treated, he is treated better than Hillary because his lies are and sneaky tricks are not exposed, at least not enough! Anyone hear the fact finding mission about the army captain he referenced speaking to in the debate? Well this army captain will never vote for him and knows the truth about Obama the liar! But Hillary dare not say anything, or especially Bill Clinton, else he gets called a bull dog for exposing the truth about him ! Even though he is ahead and winning, he is still whining like a spoiled baby! I'd rather see Dr Phil be the president!

Paula   February 23rd, 2008 8:14 pm ET

Jackie-stop showing your ignorance calling names because your candidate is not in the lead.

Very immature!

dave   February 23rd, 2008 8:13 pm ET

Obama wouldnt stay in the race because he would be intelligent enough to know that it would be splitting the party apart. Hillary just wont let it go because she had thought for sure in the beginning that would be no contest and now shes freaking out because her campaign wasnt prepared. Just like she wouldnt be in the white house she would always ask Bill what to do.

why o why   February 23rd, 2008 8:13 pm ET

Many of my messages have not been posted by CNN. why even bother having a blog if not all of the comments get posted or if only the one's that CNN like get posted.

Why is Obama whining again??

averagejoe   February 23rd, 2008 8:13 pm ET

I still wonder why CNN continues to filter derogatory articles about BO but persistently investigates other candidates. For example, we now get a daily dose of McCain news about his denial of any relationship with a lobbyist. But CNN is still mum even when other news networks have already reported about BO's contradicting remarks a month ago that he didn't recall a lot about his dealings with Rezco when in fact, his camp now admits he even toured his home with Rezco prior to buying the property. How could one not recall anything about inspecting a house with his biggest financier??? Just like any traditional politician, he knew that if he admitted the truth, it would hurt his chances in the primaries. So he had to lie for a moment and hope that CNN won't pursue this story just like what is going on now.

Tony   February 23rd, 2008 8:12 pm ET

She has as much chance as winning the nomination as Huckabee – the only media bias is slanted towards the Clintons for not actually marginalizing her as much as Huckabee.

How is he being "arrogant"? He told the truth: if he had lost 11 in a row, all the political pundits would be screaming for him to leave. Jon Stewart pointed out in The Daily Show that while Huckabee needed a miracle to beat McCain, according to the pundits, Hillary just needed to get some focus (after loosing Virginia, Maryland and Columbia). You are wrong about CNN supportng Obama, I wrote a comment criticizing the cover that the subject got and it wasn't accepted

Steve   February 23rd, 2008 8:11 pm ET

What is with that headline? First it was phrased in such a way as to make Obama look arrogant. I appreciate that it was corrected but it's still wrong and now is phrased in a way that makes Obama come off as whiny. What's the point in even bothering with a correction if his words are still going to be distorted to such an absurd degree? Especially when anybody can get the actual quote a few paragraphs below it?

It's really nothing short of disgraceful on CNN's part.

People need to calm down! Think about how attached you are getting to these two candidates. They are both better than having McCain in office. As for Hil...it's about time you are fighting back. As for Obama...don't we want a president that has a little bit of an ego? That means he will get things done. Do we want a wimp in the White House? Both are stong willed and I can guarantee that Hil has an ego just as big!

JMG   February 23rd, 2008 8:09 pm ET

CNN reporters, you should be ashamed of yourselves. Whatever happened to objective journalism to allow the audience to form their own opinions and draw their own conclusions? Your obvious love and support for Barack Obama is so glaring that it makes me sick. Your type of reporting is not what true journalism is all about. As a lifelong Democrat, I will vote for Senator McCain if Barack Obama receives the nomination. I can only hope that Hillary will win Texas and Ohio, despite your slanted and biased reporting in favor of Obama.

Toni Risalvato   February 23rd, 2008 8:09 pm ET

Dry the tears Obama. Address the smears on Hillary. Received one of your e-mail smears recently. Comparing Hillary's contribution requests to the infamous Swift Boat Veterans For Truth. The email was from David Plouffe one of your team Obama. Sounds like you and your team are taking lessons from Carl Rove. The Ohio leaflets smear is Rove tactics too. Good luck your are on your way to being dubbed George Bush Jr.

Jack   February 23rd, 2008 8:09 pm ET

When we lose or free press we will lose our democracy..keep that in mind CNN.

Obama is arrogant. It showed in the debate and its shows in his rallies. Why CNN does not report this or show blogs from people who were there and critize is beyond me. Obama spends plenty of time using sly attacks and playing politics and this is why he lost my vote. He is no agent of change, but a master manipulater in the vain of "W" and this country will be sorry for electing yet another in-experianced leader while we face two wars and and a doomed economy.

S'danielle Clarke   February 23rd, 2008 8:08 pm ET

CNN has basically DONATED its station to Hillary to give her free campaigning coverage while she is short on change so I can't figure out what you Clinton supporters are complaining about.

Incidently, while pandering at the "State of Black America Forum" (Obama skipped and Hillary took FULL advantage of) Hillary clearly stated that the VOTERS (that's us) should not be more important or more listened to than the party establishment who earned it. (Translation, the superdelegates should vote for her if the voters are too stupid to do so).

After all, we would have to be stupid or in some trance-like state to like, support and be excited by this black man...wouldn't we.

Funny, Reaganites and Keddy-lovers support or adoration of their candidate never had to be explained away as some sor of cult like, black magic, I wonder why.

jujub   February 23rd, 2008 8:08 pm ET

Its obvious that anyone who is supporting Hillary has never read Barack Obama's book...The Audacity of Hope. If they had read his book, they would not be supporting Hillary, because they would realize that three years ago he had a total and comprehensive grasp of our country, its problems, and how we can reclaim our rights as tax paying citizens.

Hillary voted to authorize the Iraq war which has created a fiscal nightmare for our country. When she talks about sympathizing with hospitalized and returning soliders, she denies that their plight is the result of her vote and takes no responsibility for our country's debt to China and other countries who are lending us money to support the war she voted for.

Hillary supported NAFTA. Her supporting quotes are found easily on the web in newspaper articles, her books, videos, etc. She only changed her mind about it when she decided to run for President. Her positions are about convenience and votes, not substance.

Hillary said on George Stefanopoulis' show that, yes, it would be necessary to garnish people's wages to collect premiums for her mandated health care program. Her first attempt at universal health care failed.

Hillary wants to seat the delegates from Michigan and Florida despite agreeing to the contrary. She cannot keep a commitment.

David   February 23rd, 2008 8:08 pm ET

Even Clinton supporters lashing out with hatred instead of submissiveness. Did he do somethin wrong to Hilary? Or did Americans cast their vote for who they rather support??

Why are people that are Clintons supporters bashing Obama??

Oh...I forgot ...he's winning!!

If you don't want real 'CHANGE' ..vote McCain....He'll definately continue the Tax hikes, the wars, while starting another against Iran. Ask McCain what is going to be his plan for the Economy. Pun intended.

What a joke Obama is, he is not qualified for Senator much less President. He can"t even hit the right lever when he votes. I guess that's better then Present or missing 40% of the votes. Just like how he would have voted on Iraq if he'd been there. Easy to say what you would do if you are not there to do it. Where was Obama when the Iran vote was taken? Give me a break, quit pretending to be something you are not. Quit saying what you would do when it is not your decision. You make empty promises. You know you won't have the guts to deliver on any of them. You can always say you tried, kinda like voting present, or hitting the wrong switch. You are nothing more than words, and there not even yours. Similar is not the same as word for word!

David   February 23rd, 2008 8:07 pm ET

This man is so arrogant & sickening to me..which is usually a sign of ignorance or fear.

California Independent   February 23rd, 2008 8:07 pm ET

Well... uhhhh that was just uncomfortable and a lot creepy. His campaign needs to muzzle this guy. He does ok with a script and a teleprompter, but on his own..... it's painful to watch him stick his foot in his mouth yet again. That was just so beyond ego, it can't be explained.

Bob in NJ   February 23rd, 2008 8:06 pm ET

I'd like to think my challenge to the interpretation of Obama's answering "Yes" to the reporter's question being taken out of context for the original headline was picked up by the moderators and subsequently caused the correction, but then that would be arrogant of me. We all need to be careful interpreting what we read and hear. There's a lot at stake – our children's future. Obama may not be perfect, but he certainly doesn't hide – read his books. His positions may seem fuzzy, but I'd rather have someone who's open to the realities of current events than someone who's anchored to the past .

Linda   February 23rd, 2008 8:06 pm ET

I would not vote for either of the 2 socialists

stan   February 23rd, 2008 8:06 pm ET

another vote for mccain here if obama is the nominee...over my dead body...better yet...his...;-)

Obama08!   February 23rd, 2008 8:06 pm ET

Guy stop talking like a kid. Why will state of Michigan and florida be counted when it was made clear to them not to move the primeries. What you do if you are John Edwards who would have won florida if he had campaign there.
How are going to share the delegate of Florida and Michigan between
Edwards, Obama and Hillary?

Your candidate didn't said all these stuff that you are vomitting from your mouth all the time Hillary supporters.
You seems to put all your eges in one basket.

Tony   February 23rd, 2008 8:05 pm ET

If I could ask the Clinton backers 3 questions to help me with my vote:
How can she say she is ready to lead the county on day one when she has not been able to run her own campaign. She has burned through $100MM and she was the biggest name in the race and she is losing. She did the same thing Bush did – surrounded herself with cronies – do we need a repeat of the last president.
How can she say she is vetted when she won't release her tax returns. This is very scary – if Bill is funneling foreign money into her campaign she needs to quit.
Lastly – how can she claim to have 35 years of experience – based on this logic my wife is a CPA for 12 years – let me do your taxes. IF she is going to take credit for her First Lady days then she needs to take all of it including impeachment, intern abuse and NAFTA.

Laura-TX   February 23rd, 2008 8:05 pm ET

Obama is the media darling. He can say and do whatever he wants because the ramifications of going against Obama would cost CNN everything. Oprah recently became part of CNN. You can see her spots in the Living area on the site. Oprah has told CNN if they ever put Obama in a bad light, she is gone and her money too.

CNN she has you by the cajones! Yikes~!

Jan E   February 23rd, 2008 8:05 pm ET

Hillary supporter seem to think somehow she is entitled to take the throne and are in complete disbelief and denial about what is happening. For God sake people, this is not a monarchy. She had everything paved for her from name recognition, money, to very prominent supporters in high positions and she still lost. This is America people, live with it.

Monika   February 23rd, 2008 8:05 pm ET

CNN, I will reverberate what has been said.
I am appalled. Independent news media? What, did Obama camp call you and ask for the change?
When you report, stick to your original articles and keep them that way. Get what you want out first, and stop changing articles just because the comments aren't favorable. Reminds me of politicians who just pay attention to the polls...

very disappointed. I'll have to switch to another news network to get my primary news from. THANKS.

B, USA   February 23rd, 2008 8:05 pm ET

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU!!! I THINK THE NUMBER ONE REASON IS, BECAUSE YOUR LAST NAME IS NOT CLINTON AND WE ARE IN ANIMAL FARM, LIKE GEORGE ORWELL SAID, "ALL ANIMALS ARE EQUAL, BUT SOME ARE MORE EQUAL THAN THE OTHERS." SO WE ALL ARE AWARE, SO HANG IN THERE MARCH 5TH IS AROUND THE CORNER AND YOU SHALL BE GLAD TO HAVE HER ENDORSEMENT

Colin   February 23rd, 2008 8:05 pm ET

If Hillary Clinton had won the last eleven contests, with an average of over 60 percent, I think you can be sure she would be the presumptive nominee.

And "independent," Obama took the overall popular vote lead after the Potomac primary and extended that lead after the blowout Wisconsin primary. He has a lead of about a hundred delegates in most counts, which hardly qualifies as "incredibly close."

Folks, deal with it. She lost, and hyperbole isn't gonna change that.

WHAT   February 23rd, 2008 8:04 pm ET

Are you serious Marie? you read that article on a Republican website and decided it was fact. what pushed over the edge his pastor?

I was raised Catholic and the priest that was head of my congregation molested 4 boys, does that make me a child abuser, be for real!

In the real world people would not be held accountable for every action of everyone around them, these people are humans you know.

Tmitch   February 23rd, 2008 8:03 pm ET

Hillary is the pot calling the kettle black...she has been running a negative campaign for a long time. Now that Barack is leading, she's whinning like a child..her 'feelings' are hurt. Her campaign team should not have let her go infront of the camera with that huge and angry chip on her shoulder...not befitting at all.
She wants to play with words..Obama really didn't say anything wrong, he just didn't say it the way she wanted it said, and why would he put 'her' plan in his flyer!!!? She and her Bill have been for NAFTA for years, she just changed her views when she decided to run for President (how convenient). If you listened to the debate Thursday night, she did say there will be a fine (penalty) for those that did not purchase health care, she even talked about possible garnishing wages...those words came from her mouth. Does she think the people of Ohio don't already know that?

Gaby   February 23rd, 2008 8:03 pm ET

I am glad to know that most people are smart enough to understand Obama's scheduling for this election. He can only do the greater good if he is interrupted in his campaigning, Furthermore, he has already been to Louisiana getting to know the people and spending time with them. Hillary is just now coming into this state, never thanking the people for their vote or support as she has repeatedly done for each state that she lost in. Hillary attending this Black Union, was just playing to Tavis Smiley's so called platform, himself. But thank you C-Span.

Mark from Arlington   February 23rd, 2008 8:03 pm ET

It should be clear to all real Democrats that this vetting of views and opinions is mere batting practice. Both sides are sharpening their game and in the end it will help, not hurt, the party. It would seem that CNN get's loads of benefits as well. Why does everyone in the Obama camp seem to want to declare victory mid-game? Are they afraid of a competition? They certainly aren't afraid of spending loads of money on television advertisements, which seems interesting for a campaign that prides itself in supposedly being different from politics as usual. If you think this a dog-fight, then you are going to be in serious trouble when the Republicans really get into the swing of things.

David Jones   February 23rd, 2008 8:01 pm ET

I personally would quit if I had lost as much contest as Clinton!

Billary needs to quit...game over!

GO OBAMA!

B.   February 23rd, 2008 8:01 pm ET

CNN. What you have just done in changing the comment from: I'd quit if I lost like Clinton, Obama says. To this????
You should ALL be ashamed.
This is the WORST journalism we have seen in years. We all know that Mr, Obama is the media darling (along with Brittney Spears) but this is flat out wrong!!!
This man will not ready to be the leader of the free world. He has done nothing for his state, nothing for our country and never even owned a business!
Read people!!! Great speaker, but the same speech for a year?

NO_MO_CLINTONS in Tokyo   February 23rd, 2008 8:01 pm ET

TKO for hillbilly come march4.We going to rally all the moves to knock her out of this race cos the champ is here, she can't see OBAMA.

OBAMA ALL THE WAY 08!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ida   February 23rd, 2008 8:00 pm ET

I think Clinton will do anything to win to be the first lady president in USA, she is been in office for so long why didn't she deliver back then the programs she is talking about? We are six and tired of promises we want actions, Obama is the man, I am going for the change.

Mary- KS   February 23rd, 2008 8:00 pm ET

Today seals the deal for me..... even if he is nominated I will not vote for him. I've been a Hillary fan but would have voted for him if he had won. Now I will simply write Hillary's name in.... perhaps a wasted vote in some peoples view.... in mine, it's just the right thing to do.

Bull   February 23rd, 2008 8:00 pm ET

This US-Primary is the most interesting so far,I have ever seen, especially the democratic campeign.I also find the republican
primary interesting but wonder why the republicans rejected a hardliner,Romney for a moderate,Mc Cain-are they tired of hardliners?

Now that the democrats abroad voted by a big margin for Obama,it means the foreign affairs experience of Hillary has been rejected. Senator Hillary has won 13 contests so far and even if she wins all the coming contests she wouldnot reach the 23 contests that Senator Obama hast won and so, there will be doubts even she finally comes out as the nominee.

I think this campeign ist more of personality as experience.

I go with CNN and watch how the campaign makes history.

Diane in Dallas   February 23rd, 2008 7:59 pm ET

I have read scores and scores of posts for Obama and defending this pile of trash but very few in defense of Hillary. I used to think that Fox was biased... CNN is all over it. At the end of the day, Obama is nothing more than job security... the media loves trash, otherwise they have nothing to report... 24 hours a day of ... well... things are going great in Washington today... our newly elected President Clinton/McCain has balanced the budget and have finally forced Iraq to take control of their government and people so that the withdrawal of our troops was a success... no, that is not news. Of course, CNN is for Obama!

John, Racine, WI   February 23rd, 2008 7:58 pm ET

What high school journalism from CNN!

Obama is the candidate who should quit: he is destroying the Democratic Party, plays race – 90%+ of all black people is his real base – and if nominated will self-destruct because of his emptiness and childlike: HOPE, CHANGE and UNITY!

You have already set race relations back 25 years! Do you want to try for 50 or McCain's 100 years of war?

The United States of America does NOT need an EGO as huge as yours!

Marina   February 23rd, 2008 7:58 pm ET

I can't wait until she starts pointing are cartoons of her and Barack protesting how she looks!!! Enough rage Hilliary – go home.

Luis   February 23rd, 2008 7:58 pm ET

SHAME ON YOU CNN! It is freighting to see all of the voters who are voting for him because the media is basically telling them to. I also love how you folks try and paraphrase everything he says to make him seem like an angel. He is complaining but of course, he is the media darling so it doesn't matter, he can count on the media to make him look perfect. His speeches scare me as well because they are a WHOLE LOAD OF NOTHING. Yes, all of this "yes we can" which he took from Caesar Chavez by the way, the "change", every single part of his speeches can be described as a balloon full of air. Please, now he is saying he is the underdog, when has he had to answer to any criticism? The media covers it ALL for him!

Yen   February 23rd, 2008 7:58 pm ET

Obama isn't receiving special treatment because he's "winning," he has received special treatment from the very beginning.

Also, aren't Ted Kennedy and John Kerry part of the "Democratic network in Washington?" Obama seems to have no problem accepting their endorsements.

Eli   February 23rd, 2008 7:58 pm ET

If you watch long enough every con artist slips up. This is what you are seeing. I am a life long DEMOCRAT but I will not vote for OBAMA if he gets the nomination, he has no substance and will fall from grace fast.

Craig, Wa.   February 23rd, 2008 7:57 pm ET

So now I'm confused

Was the first article true ......and then censored?

or is this latest true and the first a result of bad reporting?

If Ted Turner were in charge......he would post a reply, and heads would roll publicly to maintain CNN credibility.

Please post an answer

Mel from LA   February 23rd, 2008 7:57 pm ET

Okay, BEFORE this UPDATED version of the story became available everyone seemed to be knocking Barrack – calling him 'arrogant' and questioning his character and such. Now that we KNOW his comments were EXAGERATED, particularly the part about saying he would have QUIT by now, lets all just tone down the rhetoric a bit.

The truth is, HE'S ABSOLUTELY RIGHT! When you're dealing with a Clinton you need a TKO – anything less, everyone continues to casually ignore an imbarrasing "0-11" record.

Look, don't FEEL SORRY for her, ok? America is picking a WINNER.

btmore   February 23rd, 2008 7:56 pm ET

Hey CNN,

Why not get the story RIGHT before posting it? The difference between your earlier version and the current version is not some minor nitpick. It changes the WHOLE thing.

justin   February 23rd, 2008 7:56 pm ET

is it possible hillarybots realize how whiny they sound? you really need to learn how to think objectively.

think about it. if obama had lost 11 straight contests by an average of 33 points, THE ENTIRE democratic establishment would be going nuts that he's pulling a huckabee. and most imporantatly, HILLARYBOTS would be screaming for him to leave.

THINK...

Anonymous   February 23rd, 2008 7:56 pm ET

David   February 23rd, 2008 7:55 pm ET

Sen Clinton is going to lose. The question is, does she try to smear an honorable democratic candidate out of spite?

This is why Obama has so much momentum. I believe Americans are tired of the vendictive politics in Washington. Can we change Washington..."Yes we can".

Diane in Dallas   February 23rd, 2008 7:54 pm ET

Sure he would, he would be saying that it is because he is black. He would have new reason to believe that America has been a failure and give his wife new reason to not be really proud of her country.... all the while not supporting the party that he claims that he is there to defend. Joke, total joke. America is in serious trouble and it needs serious people to fix what Bush has broken. Obama is not the answer.

Kevin,FL   February 23rd, 2008 7:54 pm ET

Marina   February 23rd, 2008 7:53 pm ET

All you Clinton fans, do you really want to wallow in yesterday? How could you live with yourselves for putting her in the White House, to represent your country – she may be a role model but she isn't a leader. Pull your heads out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

DemoCain-HillaCrat   February 23rd, 2008 7:53 pm ET

If Obama is the Democratic nominee, I'm voting for McCain (but I really want HILLARY!). I think Obama is a fraud and a crafty and cynical Washington insider. He is so NOT who he says he is. That is so apparent to me. I think Obama supporters are using some of his leftover drugs.

Mike   February 23rd, 2008 7:53 pm ET

Capri- you are correct about the Clintons. The Clintons represent the Washington establishment at its worst. But Obama just did the same thing with the mail outs and by hanging out with the Kennedy's, The same old Wahshington and he will say anything to get any body's vote.

Zach   February 23rd, 2008 7:53 pm ET

Obama would have been written off as dead if he was in the same situation as Clinton. Clinton has the establishment behind her and they cannot surrender gracefully. All the big shots who backed her when she was the inevitable nominee are going to look like fools, they just want to postpone that as long as possible. If other campaigns were in the same position as Hilary, they would be ridiculed in politcal cartoons and Democratic movers and shakers would be calling for them to throw in the towel in the name of"party unity" and doing what is best for the fall elections. The Clinton myth continues in it's latest format and the end of this chapter is near.

Zach

Carl   February 23rd, 2008 7:53 pm ET

Hilary won't quit because she's too arrogant. She believes the millions of voters supporting Barack is somehow "delusional." But she's the delusional one. I hope she drops out after March 4th. She's tearing the democratic party a part, and it seems as if she doesn't care. She's blantantly lied on Barack about his honest mailers, believing Ohio residents didn't watch the Texas Debate. Shame on you, Hilary. Shame on You. You're becoming a disgrace to women, to politics, to our country. SHAME ON YOU!

By the way somebody tell me what experience Hillary has?
She has already been in the White House, what did she do?
Bill made her head of some health care program . Did it ever make to the congress or senate? Someone tell me please. Hillary said "if I knew then what I know now, I would not of voted for the war in Iraq"
What does she know now about health care (her 8 years of working on it while she was in the W.H ) now that she did'nt know then?

VT in CA   February 23rd, 2008 7:52 pm ET

"I'd get different treatment..." You sure would. And you DID, when you were down in the polls. Media were calling on Hillary to quit after Iowa!! What a joke. Poor Barack.

Your true colors will now begin to shine. Alluding to beating Clinton for the nomination being "a knock out." As if you're going to actually punch her in the face, huh? Charming.

Arlene NY   February 23rd, 2008 7:52 pm ET

Obama, you become the nominee and i"ll quit the democratic party. Quitters can't become leaders.

Peter S, Georgia   February 23rd, 2008 7:51 pm ET

Obama is right. He would be treated differently. His many fans in the media would keep his campaign alive right up until the moment the Democratic National Convention adjourned no matter how far behind he fell.

Jared   February 23rd, 2008 7:51 pm ET

Obama is right about this. I actually think the media has been too soft on the 11 losses.

NC   February 23rd, 2008 7:51 pm ET

nice job CNN, you should post the correct informaition the first time around

Jack   February 23rd, 2008 7:51 pm ET

This is becoming a bigger issue than Obama and Clinton. CNN changes the story to favor Obama. This is not journalism. Did CNN correct its misleading stories about Clinton? NO. The previous article is typical Obama. He says something then goes back to try and correct it. CNN is following suit and its problematic either way you look at it. CNN corrected the story to make Obama look better. Wake up America. Is this what we need after Bush. I don't think so.

DHS   February 23rd, 2008 7:51 pm ET

Enough is enough. Are the harsh commenters really Republicans trying to split the Dems? It certainly looks that way. Fact is, you can't blame Clinton, and you can't blame Obama. And the fact is Obama offers a fresh approach. However, we must ensure that Bush Democrats are defeated in all congressional elections or no matter which Democrat wins, it won't matter. Obama's victory will not be complete unless we can do that.

anytown   February 23rd, 2008 7:50 pm ET

He is trying to play the underdog card. Everyone likes to root for the underdog. He's David, she's Goliath. He has been treated with kid gloves during this entire campaign. For heaven's sake CNN, paractice some real journalism instead of constantly fawning over Obama.

Bush has left the country in a shambles. Charasmatic leaders like Obama are most likely to be able to cast their spell on people under times of crisis. Wake up and snap out of it America! Clinton 2 is not perfect, but we need her experience and strength to get us out of this mess. Obama needs more seasoning and testing before becoming chief executive of the free world.

What u Cando   February 23rd, 2008 7:50 pm ET

The American people feel as though they have been abused by Pres. Bush, so they pick a candidate who is the exact opposite of him in Obama. This is very dangerous if we let anger and frustration guide our vote. Many Americans' judgement maybe clouded because of this. The country is in need of healing and picking someone who makes pretty speeches is irresponcible on our part. Obama didn't even know who commands a battalion, he thought it was a captain , no, it's a lieutenant. If he knows that little about the military during a time of war then we really need to wake up. American must be strong ,smart and cautious...

Obama is correct, Hillery Clinton is slowly becoming the new Mike Huckabee. She wants to remain for no obvious reason, indefinite idle, purposeless pause. By remaining in the race, Hillery is destroying the Demo Pty. She is a Modern day delila, trying to find the sorce of obama strenght in the polls. Its clear to me the longer she stays in the more huckabeefied she becomes. Mccain has said he hopes castro dies, and has become bush all over again. I demand you stand down hillery.

QuietStormX   February 23rd, 2008 7:48 pm ET

I'm glad CNN corrected that mistake. I thought they were trying to start some talk that Obama would quit if he lost that many contests in a row. Maybe on the night of March 4th or morning of March 5th, we will get that answer and the pundents should be calling for her to give it up.

Marina   February 23rd, 2008 7:48 pm ET

Can we just tell Hillary to go back to where she came from, NY, Arkansas – anywhere, just GO!

lin   February 23rd, 2008 7:47 pm ET

The fact is when he was 100 delegates behind he wasn't getting bad treatment in fact quite the opposite. Guess what he's not even more than 100 delegates a head, its a tie. He likes to leave many things out like facts. Hillary's health coverage will be affordable to all. Instead he's insinuating like in his new flyers that it won't be affordable, leaving out the facts that it will be. Its just more of the same. Imagine a democrat who's not for universal health care. Egobama fans are really getting dillusional GO HILLARY-EDWARDS

Lee, Barack Obama wasn't at the State of the Black Union address and refused their invitation. Your statements just confirmed why Obama didn't attend because he doesn't play the "race" card. Further, if that's what you got out of it while watching, you should have turned it off, just like Obama refused their invitation. Obama is simply the.

rachel   February 23rd, 2008 7:46 pm ET

I wonder if this will get posted. Obama is getting very arrogant. What that saying about you should beleive your own hype? Even if he gets the nonimation its a long way to the white house and he's stepping on fingers and toes that he will need to help him win in nov.

Forest for the Trees   February 23rd, 2008 7:46 pm ET

I hope the news picks up on this mishap and shows all about it. That Obama made a major PR blunder....the public jumped on his ARROGANT BASH, and than, in a matter of minutes, CNN pulled the story.

There's the true story.

Hey CNN does Obama have you in his back pockets, what happened to "were keeping them honest."

This is such Bullocks.

Pamela   February 23rd, 2008 7:46 pm ET

OBAMA AN OPPORTUNIST???? Hiliary's picture is next to the definition of the the word. Pick up your Webster and look ! Hilary was so certain of a coronation based on her husband's legacy that she shined up her crown and rehearsed how she'd crown herself while her loyal simpletons watched. Enough of the dynasty families at the helm of this nation. We are smarter than that and we deserve better.

Woodgate   February 23rd, 2008 7:46 pm ET

He's totally right on what he said! Think about it, he would have had alot more pressure to drop out. Go Hillary, maybe vice-prez?

Oh and if Hillary wins she will take the Gov of Ohio on the Ticket and leave Obama in the cold...

On Super Tuesday, CNN analysts were surprised by the number of wins that Barack Obama had among the primaries. At one point, I think Blitzer was going to choke on the results.
I do believe that the media and all the Hillary Clinton supporters would be calling for him to drop out of the race already. Because of her "history in politics", the media has taken it easy on her. When you think about it, they didn't have to say anything about her dropping out, HER OWN HUSBAND DID THAT.

Rebecca - Fresno, CA   February 23rd, 2008 7:43 pm ET

Well...my original response was not included here....maybe CNN will include this one....... Thank you CNN for changing the headline. I watched the entire press conference and found that the headline appeared to be envoking controversy where there wasn't any. His tone was not at all arrogant and most people that actually saw it in its entirety would know that. Thorough and objective reporting is the best way to go...Lay out the facts and let the readers decide. Thanks again!

bk   February 23rd, 2008 7:43 pm ET

He is so arrogant. He reminds me of George Bush more everyday. I think I will go vote over a hundred times present and see if people think I can make decisions. I will also go smoke, use drugs and see if they think I have good judgement. Oh yea and he didn't vote on the war,did he? So we are suppose to believe he would have and its ok that John Kerry voted for the war and Obama asked him to support him. Oh and he's for Change so he begs Ted Kennedy to support him. People please wake up.

Klaus H. Bricke   February 23rd, 2008 7:42 pm ET

Obama got special treatment from the media from the beginning , especially from NBC / MSNBC and until today we don't know why ??
Why did an entire network change into anti Clinton mode ? This has been unprecedentent in political reporting . When even Fox News is more even-handed and fair something is wrong and something is definitely suspicius there ! We will probably never know !

Ann   February 23rd, 2008 7:42 pm ET

Obama says: she's "part of the Democratic network in Washington."

I can't believe it! You are coming from Washington too and look who supports you. When Ted Kennedy is your supporter and master, how do you dare to say you are the 'challenger, the upstart'?

And yes, CNN is biased. I heard the arrogant Obama on TV. This kind of attitude pushed away good candidates. Yeah, making history with Obama. Do not forget Hillary is supported by half of the people who voted so far, and this woman is a fighter.

Mike   February 23rd, 2008 7:42 pm ET

Diamond, he needs 2025, he is not even close. So why should leave now. I hate to tell you but without all Democrats coming together, he will never win the white house.

CNN Obama lover   February 23rd, 2008 7:42 pm ET

I thought this kind of thing will happen only in PRChina`s forums.

CNN, shame on you.

Amparo   February 23rd, 2008 7:42 pm ET

Scott Struble writes....One thing remains true for young voters; anyone under the age of 42 has only seen a Clinton or a Bush on the ballot for President in each general election since they were old enough to vote. Perhaps the country is ready for a real change of leadership.

Or perhaps we LOVE the Clinton years in between and that is why we want for Hillary to be the president.

Does you inspirational leader of hope and change inspires you to be rude to those 40 and older??? you are going to get there too, you know. So let's HOPE that when you CHANGE to become 42 people will treat you with more kidness.

Sam- Hershey, PA   February 23rd, 2008 7:42 pm ET

I THINK CNN SHOULD BE APPLAUDED FOR CORRECTING THE ENTRY.

WE HONESTLY SHOULDN'T EXPECT ANYTHING LESS FROM THEM THAN TRUTHFUL & ACCURATE REPORTING.

THE TRUTH IS: Obama NEVER stated that he would "quit if he lost like Hillary"...and that is the honest to God's truth!

I, too, was alarmed to see the manner in which the first two ticker entries were reported..it came off as sensational and inflammatory.

I saw Obama's live press conference on CNN, and NEVER EVER did he utter the words, "I'd Quit If I Lost Like Clinton"....the authors of this post took some journalistic liberty in the worst way.

He simply answered, YES, to the question of "If you had lost 11 contests in a row, do you think people would be pressuring you to quit"...nothing more, and nothing less.

CONGRATULATIONS to CNN for doing the right thing and making the correction

-Sam in PA

changing times   February 23rd, 2008 7:41 pm ET

You guys obviously DID NOT SEE the press conference! I did and the first story as I said during the first story was WRONG!!! This one is correct, the picture caption is still wrong. Again I repeat I watched the press conference and he was not asked if he would quit. He was asked if he would have been pressured to quit by the party if he had lost 11 straight, his answer was yes. End of Story!

Marie   February 23rd, 2008 7:39 pm ET

I do not know in what to believe. It is amazing! You already changed the story? That is not the kind of change that we are looking for.
I hope that Obama will disagree with you in this one. I do not want this change. Too quick.

Jeremy   February 23rd, 2008 7:38 pm ET

CNN, I hope Hillary wins the presidency and I hope she never forgets how you made it so much harder for her to get there. I watch Fox more and more now because it's obvious Obamamania has also infected CNN.

Tina ny, ny   February 23rd, 2008 7:38 pm ET

please give me a break. CNN stopped posting anti-obama remarks for black state union. They do it so that other don't read what viewers actually think

Vinnie   February 23rd, 2008 7:38 pm ET

OH, boo hoo. Whatever dude. You're just as "slick" as any politician out there so stop being all about the people...it's insulting.

Amy   February 23rd, 2008 7:38 pm ET

with all due respect to you guys....

I have to say, it cracks me up how all the Obama supporters cry foul on CNN for being too kind to Clinton, and all the Clinton supporters claim CNN has a crush on Obama.

Meanwhile, McCain supporters sit back and laugh at you guys ripping your party apart.

2bzy4foolishness   February 23rd, 2008 7:37 pm ET

One word for CNN – Obamabias

One word for Obama – Arrogant

Anthony   February 23rd, 2008 7:37 pm ET

OBAMA: "Change for the better." Mud slinging is not the solution to the crtical issues that affect our country. "A house (country) divided against itself, will fall." I want a leader who can bring our country together so that we can be self-sufficient on energy, national security, the economy, education & healthcare issues. The solution is not abroad, but within our borders. OBAMA!

Mike   February 23rd, 2008 7:37 pm ET

Obama you just lost my vote.....You are like all the politicians!!! going negative and playing Washington games. You have no idea about how to deal with foreign relations or you lied about the troops and using Taliban's weapons!!!

Andrew   February 23rd, 2008 7:37 pm ET

yeah, right...don't ya just love how cnn changed the title of the article. hmmm...and who exactly is the media darling?

Oh Please!   February 23rd, 2008 7:36 pm ET

Pride goes before the fall, Mr Obama. Your arrogance is showing.
Stupid comments like this and McCains about Castro will only help Hillary.

El Dorado   February 23rd, 2008 7:36 pm ET

Laura is right. The Obama story makes money now, but wait it's not over yet. The media is waiting for the day and so am I.

CJ   February 23rd, 2008 7:36 pm ET

Obama hides........... hes phoney......... he likes the way the media kisses up to him

Indie in NY   February 23rd, 2008 7:36 pm ET

I watched the interview and CNN misquoted Obama and finally got around to correcting it with this. CNN is to Clinton, what FOX is to Republicans. I laugh every time I see a Clinton supporter claiming CNN (Clinton News Network) is biased toward Obama as quite the opposite it true. They just got called out on this one and had to retract.

Jean Bloemendaal   February 23rd, 2008 7:36 pm ET

I am an 81 year old life-time Republican, but I am rooting for Barak Obama. He's the closest person to Abe Lincoln we've had in all my years of voting.
He will heal our wounds, restore our dignity and help us to reach our goals of equality for all. He won't hand it to us, but he will help us attain it.
Our politicians are greedy, self-serving and so far removed from mainstream America that we are all totally discouraged and frightened.
We need someone we like and trust. I like this young man.

Luz in Texas   February 23rd, 2008 7:35 pm ET

Who knows more about the economy than Paul Volcker? Latinos for Obama!

ChicoSez   February 23rd, 2008 7:34 pm ET

Yes, he would get different treatment. The media would be telling us how that only the big states count anyway. Idaho, Utah and Alaska will never vote democratic anyway. And the big question would be, why couldn't Hillary win the major states? That's what the media would be saying if the two candidates positions were reversed. He's had a free ride. Because of the media and his followeres treating him like the next coming of Christ. it's literally not safe to openly criticize Obama. Travis Smiley tried it and got death threats. Thats the politics of hope.

Ron, TX   February 23rd, 2008 7:33 pm ET

I think the biased nature of the first "version" of this story, with all its inaccuracy, is a perfect example of what Barack Obama is talking about. The media will check everyone Hillary before running a story, but they jump at the chance to just post whatever might sound bad about Obama.

Obama ABSOLUTELY would be treated differently if he just lost 11 contests in a row. He would be under such immense reporting pressure by the media that he is out, that he was just an upstart phenomenon, that it wouldn't even be HIS choice, it'd be the media's choice.

Clinton, she's lost ELEVEN times! -11-! She's only won a THIRD of the primaries and caucuses across America. A THIRD! Obama was won 66% of the contests so far. That's the real story.

Tanya   February 23rd, 2008 7:33 pm ET

Uh...how would he be treated differently...you mean ripped to shreds and stomped on , by CNN ??? LOL !!!!!
Scary....but doubt it.

Jim   February 23rd, 2008 7:33 pm ET

I would like to see the Actual transcript from the reporter. CNN has proven they can no longer be trusted in reporting unbiased truth. Hillary spoke in New Orleans and they said they would cover it. THEY DID NOT!

He is still wrong no matter which way he said it and shows his arrogance. The new version sounds like he is subtly putting race is back in the picture. Why else would they treat him differently IF they did.

Ohio   February 23rd, 2008 7:32 pm ET

Hey , I keep saying this but no one of the clinton supporters our answering. If you are tired of CNN "biasim" why do you keep coming back?

This shows you how unbias CNN was. It incorrectly tarnished Obamas campaign. It has already done its damage for most wont read the article again. but lets just keep blaming CNN.

Obama media darlin? I remember at the start everyon was saying how great Clinton was and how larg she will win by. Its Media they go along whos winning. Clitin cheered at the media then but ow calls out on everyone that we are dilusional.

Dilusonal is NAFTA, Iraq war, saying anything to win, doing anything to win, and useing our soldiers as way to get american sympathy after she sends them to Iraq.

Susan, Orlando   February 23rd, 2008 7:32 pm ET

OMG, excuse me while I pick myself up off the floor. HE would be treated differently as if to suggest he has not been already? This guy can part the Red Sea, walk on water, and fall into a pile of s- and come out smelling like a rose with the press as well as his cult worshipers. He has had a free ride since the very beginning; but then I guess if you really haven't any experience and choose not to vote on tough issues, there isn't much to go after. Don't worry little man, the media won't let anything happen to you.... don't let any of this interfere with your ego trip.

Linda B   February 23rd, 2008 7:31 pm ET

What planet is this guy from???? He's 69 delegates ahead. That is NOT a mandate. I really don't care if he won Idaho in a silly, undemocratic caucus. There are a lot of us who haven't voted yet. And we will NOT be denied our vote simply because Sen. Obama has never had a tough election fight before and wants the Red Sea to part in front of his fake little messianic hands.

Jackie   February 23rd, 2008 7:31 pm ET

Dear Obama:

I am a moderate democrat with some republican values. I am highly educated with a doctorate and I am a white female. I do not like you and here is why:

1) you are arrogant and a liar
2) you are inexperienced and guliable
3) you are just wrong for this country

On the debate you elluded to the fact that Hillary implied that your supporters are being dupted.

I say yes, yes they are. You have a campaign that is creating messages about you. You didn't create those messages. Your speeches are the work of others not yours. I believe that you are an artful liar....you are George Bush.

You scare me Obama. You come across as a puppet to the senate. A yes man no man whatever you say man. Are you really an independant thinker? You really have not shown that.

Barack I will not vote for you, My husband will not vote for you. My father in law will not vote for you. Well, my entire family in the state of PA will not vote for you. You may get the nomination, Hell you may even dupe the country into voting you into the white house.

But you will NEVER have my support. I dislike you with every breath I take and NOTHING will ever change that.

Ellis In Houston, Texas   February 23rd, 2008 7:31 pm ET

Arrogance: is when you become so sure of your self that you lift the same hand that you sworn to defend the constitution with and say ... I did not have sex with that woman in the oval office on taxpayer time, and with all the world watching. Then come back and say... maybe I did after all.

Mrs. Clinton sometimes acts as if she is some how entitled to the nomination just because she was there in the white house. We know now that just because you live in the white house does not mean you know what is going on in the white house.

If Mr. Obama had lost 11 in a row the heads of the party would have told him to drop out to keep the focus on the bigger prize.

The mail outs are true; it is just that Mrs. Clinton wants it both ways. She wants us to remember all the good things her and hubby Bill did when they were in office...like push NAFTA through and get it signed for His boy GW the 1st. which caused thousands to lose their jobs to cheap labor ; yet when someone calls her on it she goes postal and shows her true heart in a attempt to distance herself form Bill.

However, it is what is; they did it and now Mr. Obama is giving them all they can stand.
Remember the first debates when Mrs. Clinton would not even look at Mr. Obama and she would talk down to him as if he should have been glad she let him in the room. That is Arrogance. The writing is on the wall there will be no come back.

Reality check   February 23rd, 2008 7:31 pm ET

Why has CNN not reported anything on the friendship of Obama and Ayers and Dorhn, better known for their involvement with the Weathermen or Weather Underground? These were two people who were involved with terriost activities in bombings in the USA.. Ayers committed that he did not regret setting off bombs, he felt they did not do enough. Are CNN reporters not wanting any of these reports out? You can bet a war hero like McCain will dig right into it. I will vote for Clinton, if she does not get the nomination, then my vote will belong to McCain and I have never voted Republican.

Chicago23   February 23rd, 2008 7:30 pm ET

UPDATE: An earlier version of this report incorrectly stated Obama said he would quit if he had lost as many contests as Clinton.

This is consistently becoming a habit of incorrect news reporting on all outlets....

Cindy   February 23rd, 2008 7:30 pm ET

Do we have a video of what he actually said? Just so we can clear up any misunderstanding, ifyaknowhatImean.....

Fem from Knoxville, TN   February 23rd, 2008 7:29 pm ET

If I may go the way of Hillary, "shame on you" CNN for twisting what sen. Obama said. It is clear you guys are biased, you are just pretending to be neutral. Do you the magnitude of the damage your unprofessional reporting had done in your bid to sound the tune being played by your piper. Shame, shame

Ronald, American living Abroad   February 23rd, 2008 7:27 pm ET

Shame on you CNN for aiding and abetting HRC's campaign. What a pathetic "update."

Leeza   February 23rd, 2008 7:27 pm ET

sigh...

Marie   February 23rd, 2008 7:27 pm ET

Obama, I have read the article on Newsmax titled The Real Barack Obama. I am amazed that you are really on the campaign trail stating "you are a uniter of all".
You are not practicing what you preach!

I join Hillary in saying "Shame on You" and so should America!

mk   February 23rd, 2008 7:26 pm ET

OK, OK, we feel so sorry for you...

Sean   February 23rd, 2008 7:26 pm ET

I was really disappointed in the earlier version of this story...completely misrepresented what Obama said.

Bear   February 23rd, 2008 7:25 pm ET

America loves to support the underdog when they feel an upset. Senator Obama's early upset in Iowa fueled this notion, and now is a propellant for his momentum. Senator Clinton, not seen as "true" underdog, will have a difficult time catching fire. She is a good choice, however, Bush's presidential regime has allowed Senator Obama's "theme" to resonate the loudest.

kj   February 23rd, 2008 7:25 pm ET

thats true brother but that should not bother u coz it didnt happen to you instead u won everything n they r forced to look for you keep them on toes.

End Game dems   February 23rd, 2008 7:24 pm ET

Hey Junior Senator of ILL, are you now running as an independent within the Demcratic party when you state " She part of the Democratic washington network"? There are many experienced Democrates that respect the Clintons, and to imply you are a different Democrate and not a team player worries me as a 35 year voting democrat.
You lose if you go at it alone without Hillary Clinton, too sad.

Grif   February 23rd, 2008 7:24 pm ET

Yes Obama, they don't speak Chinese in Kenya. They speak the language your Dad used to speak in Kenya.

Pity or more people would understand Swahili, and they would know your m'baya sana ku'wa C.I.C in the USA..

Peter   February 23rd, 2008 7:24 pm ET

Delegate counts difference between two candidates is only about 5%, and both of them are still far away from 2025. I don't understand why he would make these kind of blunt statements.

Julie, Binghamton, NY   February 23rd, 2008 7:23 pm ET

How can he say Hillary needs to be knocked out? So now it's ok for a male candidate to say the female candidate needs to be knocked out? This is so wrong- I'm so sick of male politicians! They think that because they're prochoice they support women's rights. Well let me tell you something men, there is more to supporting women's rights than just fighting to avoid taking paternal responsibility. Lots of women around the world get raped and get jailed for it, they're not allowed to go to school, not allowed to work or drive, live in poverty with their kids- you don't hear any of these male politicians fighting to end this do you? NO, but Hillary stands up for women.

I will NEVER vote for a man who won't stand up for abused women around the world. I will NEVER stand up for a man who says a female candidate needs to be knocked out.

Jeremy Harbison   February 23rd, 2008 7:23 pm ET

Hillary isn't quitting because alot of people do not like Barak Obama. It is the people who are begging her not to let him destroy our nation that she is doing this for. Barak has no foriegn experience unless you coun't the fact that Kenyan's have named their beer Obama. His wife Michelle just recently admitted she was ashamed of America until just recently of course. Guess you have to pay her to be proud. Barak Obama is a failure as a Senator because he refused to cast his vote on important legislation. Instead of representing his constituents he was just a Tax burden on them. He was just collecting a FREE CHECK. Here is a quote his wife needs to think about, "Ask not what your country can do for you ask what you can do for your country." They apparently don't care or understand what those words they use all the time actually mean. Barak has trashed Hillary 100 times more than she has him. Her supporters are expecting her to attack back. If he wants to throw crap he's gonna get some back. I don't like the fact he thinks people who want to do drugs instead of work deserve wellfare either. Trust me I'm going to become a Republican if Barak becomes the Dem nominee.

SHAME ON CNN!!!   February 23rd, 2008 7:23 pm ET

SORRY, I FAIL TO SEE IN THIS ARTICLE WHERE HE SAYS WHAT THE TITLE STATES "I'd get different treatment if I lost as much as Clinton".

THISIS THE SECOND BLUNDER CNN HAS MADE ON ARTICLE.

HILLARY/OBAMA 08

D.Kimbro OHIO   February 23rd, 2008 7:22 pm ET

I don't think this will end until the convention. If Obama had a string of losses, he probably would have been asked to quit. I believe this is do in part to the fact that Hillary was expected to have had this race locked up before 2/5/08. This would be sound judgement on the part of the party.

OBAMA 08   February 23rd, 2008 7:22 pm ET

The better we get to know her, the less we like her.

elizabeth   February 23rd, 2008 7:22 pm ET

"Her's" is grammatically incorrect. You want "hers," analogous to "theirs." You might want to correct this above.

mary   February 23rd, 2008 7:22 pm ET

what happened to the commenta on here

Vls3936   February 23rd, 2008 7:21 pm ET

You are getting different treatment. You get treated differently already because you are an African-American and because you are a man. Your suits are doing the same as the Clinton's suits. Unfortunately, what you are doing is not good for the sake of the democratic party or for the United States. You also realize that the states of Michigan and Florida actually place Clinton 350 delegates ahead of you and that is why your "suits" are pushing all of this talk about the super-delegates. It is all just a big game to you. When is the Alien head going to pop out of the mask?

Jen, Gainesville   February 23rd, 2008 7:21 pm ET

It is time for Hillary to bow out for the sake of the democratic party.

Mike in Connecticut   February 23rd, 2008 7:21 pm ET

Obama is exactly right on this one. If he'd lost 11 in a row, the press would be openly asking him why he's still in the race against the mighty Hillary Clinton. Since she's who she is, everyone is willing to give her some space - and the benefit of the doubt - despite her series of c rushing defeats. She's basically in the same position as Mike Huckabee.

Mike   February 23rd, 2008 7:21 pm ET

Obama, you are acting like the all politicians. Practice what you preach!

anon   February 23rd, 2008 7:21 pm ET

The two versions of this story, published in this same space, are so different, and the first one so much off the truth, that one has to wonder why. Please EXPLAIN what happened.

Matt   February 23rd, 2008 7:19 pm ET

Clinton, as her outburst today demonstrates, acts like she should be anointed the Democratic nominee.

Simone P. DuBois   February 23rd, 2008 7:19 pm ET

OH, baby - you wouldn't be this far or have those wins if the media didn't treat you differently. You're this far because you're black and I am not afraid to say it. Joe Biden has more experience, Dodds, Richardson and HIllary has a ton more.

You've been given a cake walk. You accused Hillary and Bill of being racists – which is NOT true. There is something called racsim against whites and when 8 sometimes 9 out of 10 black people vote for you – that's racists my friend. So lets talk about the elephant in the room. What are you going to do to fix that racial problem?

Stop crying - the media has been generous - go listen to the right wing radio.

tania tong   February 23rd, 2008 7:19 pm ET

I will NOT be jumping on the Obama bandwagon. It is comical and frightening to see ill-informed voters supporting someone they know nothing about, has not really done anything substantial for our country, and says he is "not Washington" yet is in the Senate. I am leery of Mr. Obama, his flash and mirror speeches, and the potion he appears to be selling.

JS   February 23rd, 2008 7:19 pm ET

Hillary now says that her support of NAFTA is a lie....in her memoir and recently she has said that NAFTA was the greatest accomplishment of Pres. Clinton....in another quote when asked directly, she finally admitted that "NAFTA was a mistake to the extent that it did not deliver on what we had hoped it would"...

What is the real answer???

Why can Hillary either get away with never answering any question or flip-flopping on issues half a dozen times??

Isn't this how Kerry lost??? Do Democrats really want to lose this badly????

There is nothing in any ad criticizing hillary which is false, it is just upsetting to her that someone would point out the truth in her many, many falsehoods and that she should not be treated as special due to her Washington establishment creds.....you should not dish it out, if you can't take it, hill....do you think the rest of the world will just take it easy on you or take pity on you, or just ask you to talk about some time in the past when you felt proud or special????

Eli   February 23rd, 2008 7:19 pm ET

Poor OBAMA thinking he would be treated different if he was going to be treated different he would have never made it this far. Why should she quit when they are two big states coming up. Has anyone said that Huckabee should quit and look how far he is from McCain. Hillary is in a position that she could come back.

nyindependent   February 23rd, 2008 7:19 pm ET

Oh please....give me a break!
Treated differently is right. However, the media would spin this in some way to make Hillary the "bad guy" if Obama would was in her position. They've been treating him like a rock star ever since he stepped onto the campaign trail.

I long for real journalism!!!!!!

Amy   February 23rd, 2008 7:19 pm ET

CNN, thank you for changing the headline.

Barack was not arrogant at all today, and he is accurate that he would be getting pressure to drop out from all over if he had lost 11 in a row.

John Z.   February 23rd, 2008 7:18 pm ET

Has anybody besides me noticed the latest Ramussen tracking poll (Feb. 23) which puts McCain ahead of Obama in a general election by 46 to 43%? For the past few weeks Obama has had a healthy lead in that poll, but now the tide has turned. This is just the beginning folks, as voters are starting to see beyond the charisma and are beginning to focus on substantive matters such as Obama's lack of experience. I predict that if Obama is the Democrat's nominee that McCain will make chopped liver out of him.

Julie, Binghamton, NY   February 23rd, 2008 7:18 pm ET

No he wouldn't. Kennedy backed him when he was behind. Besides, Hillary has worked for the Democratic party and the people of the US for a really long time. We're not just going to push aside one of the best chances we've got to get universal health care in this country just because some new guy rolls into town promising the everything with no basis to know if he want deliever.

Independent Not Wanting Washington Insiders   February 23rd, 2008 7:18 pm ET

Washington insiders and business as usual doesn't mean that we voters can't change that. We must change that.

Too many years of politics/business as usual. A vote for Clinton or McCain is just more politics/business as usual.

Robert New York City & Miami, Florida   February 23rd, 2008 7:17 pm ET

Barack, I have never voted republican, but I will vote for Mummy McCain, before I vote for you!

CJ   February 23rd, 2008 7:17 pm ET

I'm sick of OBAMA..... he places hisself above everyone else when he is worst then everyone else. BUT HE HIDES IT! and the media should be ashamed of all the glory they have given this loser when they do not know anything about him......... but soon the truth will come out........ if he becomes president he will divide this great nation..... look around he has already started!!!!!!!

Jude Nkama   February 23rd, 2008 7:17 pm ET

Senator Obama's poise, calm and level headed attitude is amazing. He does not throw his ego about. He is focused on the mission. This movement is real!! It can be delayed but not denied.

OBAMA FOR AMERICA!!!!

Clay   February 23rd, 2008 7:16 pm ET

I'm glad you corrected the earlier piece CNN had on this.

Arnod   February 23rd, 2008 7:16 pm ET

Obama whinning?... Again? With all the special treatment he has gotten from most of the media, what is he complaining about?

Darryl Touchet   February 23rd, 2008 7:16 pm ET

Here we go again, when someone makes an arguement against him, they are part of "the Democratic Network in Washington". Well the last time i checked, so was he. I'm sorry, but I am tired of that excuse. I can't believe he said that, is he a democrat? I am seriously having my doubts.

B. - NYC   February 23rd, 2008 7:16 pm ET

Unreal CNN...

The caption of this story just 10 minutes ago was: "Ticker: I'd quit if I lost like Clinton, Obama says" (and yes, we saved it)... The blog was back to back anger at the fact that Mr. Obama has become so arrogant (yes, we have the blog on file as well).
Why are you at CNN protecting this guy?
he is not ready for this job and you all know it! He has done NOTHING for his state, NOTHING for our country and NEVER owned a business. Two years of public service and he should have the most important job on Earth?
Biggest mistake we could make people...

marge   February 23rd, 2008 7:16 pm ET

Obama is absolutely right. Had he lost 11 contest in a row,the media would quickly dismiss him as a viable candidate.
But the Hillary supporters whine about Hillary being treated unfairly by the media.
Maybe after the 4 March contest,,,it will all be over!

Rob   February 23rd, 2008 7:15 pm ET

He's correct. He would be treated differently.

Vic   February 23rd, 2008 7:15 pm ET

So now Obama is jumping on the media coverage during this campaign that has annointed him and unfairly attacked Hillary time and again. Even members of the press acknowledge this.

Like other predictions he has made about one thing or another - I'm beginning to seriously mistrust this men who so many are so blindly following.

Today, Hillary spoke in New Orleans to the Black American Group's annual meeting. Barack Obama was invited, but didn't show up. She was eloquent, and no matter how Barack tries to smear her now, the voters of this country had better heed about flocking to this man who has abandoned his earlier message and turned it into attacks that have Karl Rove's name written all over them.

Stevo   February 23rd, 2008 7:15 pm ET

Why the hell are the comments closed on everything I read?? I know you're going to deny posting this, but it's really making me angry.

CNN please post this.

"Hillary's healthcare plan forces you to buy insurance even if you can't afford it"

You know I read the title of the article and thought maybe Obama had done something wrong, but then i see the flier and realize it's just the harsh truth. AND the one thing I don't like about her healthcare plan.

She has said there is a mandate, and she has said she would go as far as garnishing wages if people can't afford it.

If I remember correctly she agrees to those statements in debate.

The debates she so desperately wanted to have.

Manuel TX   February 23rd, 2008 7:15 pm ET

Please.

You've had the media behind you the entire campaign.

Soon they will turn against you.

J. P. Acosta   February 23rd, 2008 7:14 pm ET

Good that you make the correction. Obama never said what you first reported, period.
Try to be more accurate next time.

anu   February 23rd, 2008 7:14 pm ET

Obama is a man without a agenda except the vague "Change" canting. Let us oust him out and bring in some semblance of dignity by supporting Hillary. she is experienced, and has a real :Agenda". do not give in to Obama he is not good for our country. he does not salute to the american flag his wife does not respect this great nation. what more proof do we need to see Obama as the wrong candidate for this great nation.

Barney, Long Island   February 23rd, 2008 7:14 pm ET

Yeah Obama would be treated differently alright. The media him because he is the new guy on the block and Hillary is old news. One thing for sure, if I was a voter in Florida or Michigan I would be screaming that my vote will not count. I expect that in Russia, not America. But we might as well get use to it if this slick talking Obama gets in!! I am not a Hillary supporter either, but what is fair is fair. Why go vote if it isn't going to count. Figures, Democrats!

Michigan500   February 23rd, 2008 7:14 pm ET

It is true...the Clintons ran as though Hillary was the annointed one.

The truth is that the Clintons didn't think they would get any substantive competition within the Democratic party, but, they are.....and they are fighting back like caged animals.

Todd Simpson   February 23rd, 2008 7:13 pm ET

I think Obama is right here too. And not because of media misinterpretation but because Hillary Clinton is a nationally know and respected candidate. Before Iowa, Obama had nowhere near the support of superdelegates or fundraisers and still doesn't have as many big name democratic fundraisers or advisers that Clinton had and has.

If the new guy, with less money and less superdelegates loses 11 in a row, he'd the be the Democratic Mike Huckabee. But justifiably Clinton still has a chance because of her name recognition, her relationship with both party officials and public support via her her 8 years as first lady and 7 years in the senate (as opposed to Obama's 3 years in the senate and 8 years in the State Senate).

Barack Obama is right. But his answer isn't arrogant either, it doesn't say she should quit or that she still can't win. You could try to read that into it if he were saying this on his own (which would be a stretch), but in response to a reporter's question it's merely a discussion on dynamics between two different types of candidates.

Rebecca Sherfey   February 23rd, 2008 7:13 pm ET

If CNN incorrectly quoted Barack Obama stating "I'd quit if I lost as many as Senator Clinton"–then take it OFF your leader subheading on the CNN Home Webpage–Obama did not state that, as your article indicates, so promptly remove it from the Webpage!

gp leigh   February 23rd, 2008 7:13 pm ET

Nice of you to correct the information although the damage has been done if you read the frothing going on in the previous permutation. Just how does this sort of incorrect reporting happen in the first place?

M. Miller   February 23rd, 2008 7:12 pm ET

Obama should announce to the country on CNN, NBC, MSNBC about his new found memory jag. Whoops..Obama remembered he and Rezko toured his new home together and Obama sought his advice on real estate...hello...doesn't this bother anyone but me? Obama told the country on national tv durung the debate he didn't know Rezko and his firm did 5 billable hours of work for a church and that was the extent of their relationship...Does the country not remember this?
Mr Obama gets a lot of 'different' treatment. Every newsman and pundit seems to be afraid to tell this story except ABC News on the internet.
What is wrong with this picture he told all of us..the country a WHOPPER and the news media lets it go by???
I wish I could get that same treatment anywhere. I am so disappointed with CNN especially because I thought for once they were trying to be fair.

DAN BUFFALO NEW YORK   February 23rd, 2008 7:12 pm ET

Guys, the ticker still reads: "I'd quit..." Get it together.

vl   February 23rd, 2008 7:12 pm ET

Nice job CNN on how you re-wrote the story so your precious Obama wouldn't stink so bad. Shame on you and your Obamabias.

I know this will be moderated to oblivian!

Abu   February 23rd, 2008 7:11 pm ET

Senator Clinton is just an incompetent human being. And what Senator Obama said is true.

susan leff   February 23rd, 2008 7:10 pm ET

Yor're only ahead by a very slim margin, and now you're so worried that you accuse Hillary of being treated differently. It's a different matter when the press is totally biased toward you, though. The problem is, you don't want to be treated differently, you want to be treated BETTER than anyone else!!!

joanne pirrone   February 23rd, 2008 7:10 pm ET

can you please tell me how she "esentially tied" on super Tuesday?

Amazingly, every pundent said, whoever wins California wins the night...she wins California handily and yet...she esentially ties on Super Tuesday. You guys in the media....it's amazing to me to listen to what you say and yet you believe it has no impact on voters.
And if Ohio, Texas and Pennsylvania came before the little states that he won, she would have had the momentum and would have won them all and then probably went on to win the little states....it's all about timing, yet it's not portrayed that way.

I'm disgusted with you ....

Lynn   February 23rd, 2008 7:10 pm ET

When is CNN going to finally update the delgate count?? If you are going to post out of date numbers, you should at least date how old they are!!

Sherry   February 23rd, 2008 7:09 pm ET

When he claims he is not part of the Democratic network in Washington, I can not help but laugh out loud.

Could someone please tell me just when Hillary Clinton was the President, I must have missed that.

Michael in Pittsburgh   February 23rd, 2008 7:09 pm ET

What more do you want? The media has spent more time kissing you than actually scrutinizing you. Just keep taking Karl Roves advice and sending out Harry and Louise ads. At least 50% of the Democratic Paty is intelligent enough to see who you really are.

MN Woman   February 23rd, 2008 7:08 pm ET

If your earlier post of "Obama would quit" was in error, it was a pretty darn big one. Do you mind telling us how that happened, seeing as you are the the best political team on television

Now off into the black hole of CNN's moderation group. Gotta love the way CNN's Comment Policy really takes a firm line regarding being respectful of other comments and posters.

With that said, this post will surely die a quick death.

Forest for the Trees   February 23rd, 2008 7:08 pm ET

OOps... that last comment was...I believe every word of the First article. Must have been a Freudian Slip becasue it was much worst of an image of Obama. Allbeit, truthful, but not very flattering.

Obama is not the right choice.

Arrogance + inexperience = Obama

Arrogance + inexperience = George Bush

Obama = Bush

Any questions...

Cris in Texas   February 23rd, 2008 7:08 pm ET

CNN you change the title.
Hmmmm....

He would quit if he was down by a couple hundred points and half way to the goal. Does that not say something about his character???

Do we want a quitter running the US that would quit when he has some small setbacks? I for one have more drive and determination than this guy. I would think long and hard before making the decision to vote if you are up soon. Do you want a quiter or a determined individual running the United States of America . Myself.... I want a determined individual.

Jeannie Vawter   February 23rd, 2008 7:07 pm ET

Once again Obama shows an ability to handle the press and roll with the punches, Hillary is visibly cracking up getting angry.

March 4th can't come soon enough.

Sara M   February 23rd, 2008 7:05 pm ET

If Sen Obama is the "upstart", the "outsider", why is he the most consistent liberal voter in the Senate (this is not necessarily a bad thing, but it does not exactly scream "outsider"...)? Why is he twisting his opponents words in campaign mailers? This, particularly, is as "Washington insider" as you get.

I don't need to hear about change- I have my own dreams, hopes, and wishes as do all Americans. I want to live in a world that embodies that change. That means real solutions, real plans, and a leader who will fight for what people need and what is right. A leader who implies he would drop out when the going gets tough is not that leader.

Darryl Touchet   February 23rd, 2008 7:05 pm ET

Here he goes again, trying to make the arguement that if you challenge him, you are "part of the Democratic Network in Washington." The last time i checked, so was he? Or is he?

Just because someone calls you out on something, doesn't mean they are somehow less than you because they happened to have been around longer than you. This goes to prove Hillary's point. Is he a democrat?

Pete   February 23rd, 2008 7:05 pm ET

Thanks to CNN for cleaning up the original posting regarding this story. It was slanted to make Obama seem arrogant and "a quitter" the new posting is much more representative of what he actually said!

Jay   February 23rd, 2008 7:04 pm ET

2 phonies CNN & Obama...lol

D Richie   February 23rd, 2008 7:04 pm ET

Well... If BO quits that easily simply because he lost 11 out of 50 states, then I think that is quite telling about who he is as a person. We need a President of the United States who doesnt quit. This country and its problems needs and deserves a fighter, not a quitter. And last I checked, we still have American voters in the other 8 or 10 states who have yet to cast their VOTE.

Thats why My box gets checked for Clinton, and if BO unfortunately wins the nomination, I will write her in. She never quits. Not in running for office, or for 35 yrs of Kids and Woman's issues, not even on her marriage. I feel pretty good about that as a Clinton voter. I dont quit either, and as an INFORMED voter ( YES –informed beyond the TV pundits and Blogosphere blather)

His statement informs me even more about who he is and why he is running. This is information one gathers BETWEEN THE LINES beyond his Illinois/Senate record and lack thereof, his political/lobby connections in Chicago, and his self-adulated preaching to the uninformed.

Steven Furtado, Kunkletown PA   February 23rd, 2008 7:04 pm ET

He's got a point. If Obama hadn't had a single win since Super tuesday, he'd be out of the race.

DocG   February 23rd, 2008 7:03 pm ET

The title of this ticker on your home page is still the same suggesting Obama is calling for clinton to quit!

Christine   February 23rd, 2008 7:03 pm ET

Why should Senator Clinton quit when 10 million people have voted for her?

9 of the states Senator Obama won have voted Republican for the last 4 Presidential elections (1992, 1996, 2000, 2004). Two others have been carried by the Republican in three of the last four Presidential elections. Do we really think this will CHANGE?

This “success” is the biggest hoax played on the American public in years.

States carried by the Republican in all four elections
Alabama
Alaska
Idaho
Kansas
Nebraska
North Dakota
South Carolina
Utah
Virginia

States carried by the Republican in three of the four elections
Colorado
Georgia

Lee   February 23rd, 2008 7:03 pm ET

Obama gets different treatment cause he is a handsome orator – the media are fawning all over him. It is disgusting.

He is arrogant and misleading – he does NOT have a plan for universal healthcare. Sending out misleading mailers – he is not a man of change – he is a man playing the cards of race and change and you are all getting duped.

All white people should watch the State of the Black Union and see what they said – I am sure you young white boys would chnage your vote – if he gets elected – young white boys will be afraid to walk down the street, – Mark my words.

Forest for the Trees   February 23rd, 2008 7:03 pm ET

I believe every word of the worst article because it sounds just like he has been acting.

CNN did the Obama camp make you take down that other article?...

for those who missed it, you finally saw the true Barack Obama in all is arrogant glory.

Bring Back the TRUTH the people need to know their candidates.

Mark   February 23rd, 2008 7:03 pm ET

If you are happy with the successes of the democratic party over the past 8 years, then vote for Hillary.

capris   February 23rd, 2008 7:03 pm ET

The Clintons represent the Washington establishment at its worst, that is why she is still in it. The country does not owe her the presidency, and everyone is just tired of all the clintonesque drama.

james   February 23rd, 2008 7:03 pm ET

he would have been counted out if he had lost 4 in a row. He gets held to a different standard. I actually heard one pundit say that Obama had the advantage because one third of the vote in Texas is a caucus, and Obama does very well in caucuses. Do you see the spin he put it? The problem with that statement is that if one third of the vote in Texas is a caucus then two thirds is a primary. Who really has the advantage. The Media follows behind hillary salivating for her next sound bite. If she loses every state up until the caucuses in Puerto Rico, the Media still will not count her out. Oh yeah, hillary i dpnt think the voters in all these states that you've lost and have been quoted as saying are "not important" will vote for you if by "hook or crook" you ended up with the nomination. I say that because we are at the point where the only way you could win the nomination is if you stole it,

Karen   February 23rd, 2008 7:03 pm ET

Ignore Obama's memo and he can't control Hillary!!! See Obama acts like Jim Jones!! Throiw him out of White House for good, his wife is lying to American. Obama's speeches or talks are bullish and lie to American people!

Geoff in RI   February 23rd, 2008 7:02 pm ET

Right, he would be treated differently – the press would have stop their fawning and treat him like anyone else. Let's face it – if he took the shots that Hillary has taken, he'd be running for cover. As long as it's all adulation, he's good. But if he's even questioned just a little bit, or legitimately challenged by Clinton, then it's the "same old politics of the past" or some other such nonsense. Even in the debates, he's never comfortable talking about issues, glosses over them and returns to the best of his stump speeches.

In Samuelson's column in Newsweek this week, one journalist noted that so far Obama's been the fashion-plate of the day, but that "fashion week" was now over. Wonder how he's going to take the shots when they inevitably come his way?

One other thing – if you read his proposals, many of which I agree with, there's nothing new in them. They are part of the democratic congressional platform. That being the case, and given that his legislative record in the Senate won't make anyone forget LBJ, how's he going to reach out and gain consensus when he's in the Oval Office when he hasn't been able to successfully demonstrate that magic touch in the US Senate?

He's got a lot of explaining to do and it's going to be interesting to see him do it.

Support Hilary   February 23rd, 2008 7:02 pm ET

It is not over.

He know it better than any one.

Alex   February 23rd, 2008 7:02 pm ET

I noticed there was something wrong with the previous report. For me he is being completely honest. She is the best known candidate, she has (or had) the establishment behind her, and even so he won! I think he is right, if he had lost Wiomyng people would be all over her, saying that a Hillary victory in Texas would be sure.

Darla from PA   February 23rd, 2008 7:02 pm ET

(The following comment was left in moderation with your "original story," I wonder if you will let it be seen now that you corrected such a blatant misstatement of your earlier article.)

I do believe Mr. Obama should tread lightly. He may not have stumbled too badly in the TX debate (although I believe he did on his foreign policies, but of course most don't talk about that or give credit to Hillary for her demonstrated greater understanding of such sensitive foreign matters), but between skipping the State of the Black Union in New Orleans (yes their votes were already held, and he won, Hillary lost–but she's still going despite her also hectic schedule and needed focus elsewhere) and statements like this, he may trip himself up yet. By the way, if anybody actually believes that Hillary ever supported this war (his biggest talking point for his electability, although McCain did not support the war initially either), I strongly recommend viewing "Hillary Clinton Iraq War Full Speech 10/10/02" parts 1 and 2 showing on YouTube. I don't believe you can speak out more clearly or knowledgeably against the war than she did here or warn the President more forcefully than she did. And also I feel obliged to note that her speech (especially toward the end of the 1st part and nearly all of the 2nd part), as well as so many subsequent speeches and actual actions, shows her remarkable grasp of foreign policy and military affairs. These are some of the qualities that I believe will prove so critical for our next president, and why I am still glad she's "daring to compete." Besides, everybody knows it's about delegates and not the states themselves (but I guess he does realize that, he gave the superdelegates more than 3 times the amount of money Hillary did after all).

That being said, I will fully support Barack if he wins the general election–I just have not yet been convinced that he's ready now. Give him another 4 or 8 years (ideally after Hillary has moved our nation forward again), and he should be a formidable foe with far more than inspiration and proposals (that so closely follow hers after all).

Sue   February 23rd, 2008 7:02 pm ET

That is a ridiculous statement for Obama to make. The media has bent over backwards to try and help him get the nomination. They bash Clinton every chance they get and always give him the benefit of the doubt. Even his supporters know very little about him. They just say "CHANGE, YES WE CAN" and refer you to his web site. What a joke.

Sam- Hershey, PA   February 23rd, 2008 7:01 pm ET

Thank You so very much for correcting this report. The earlier version painted a poisonous picture that would only be lethal to the Democratic Party...let's leave the bickering to the candidates because at the end of this experience, we know this much is true: Democrats MUST be united in order for a victory in November.

shelby   February 23rd, 2008 7:01 pm ET

I could only imagine the whinning the Clinton camp would do if things were the other way around. Had she won 11 straight she would be doing everything to get Obama out of the race, and debates? The debates would be over and done.

Tony, Enterprise, Alabama   February 23rd, 2008 7:01 pm ET

He is being treated diffierently by the press, that is why he has won so many races.

They, the press, do not question his positions on anything. He is allowed to say or do anything, and because the press is so ga ga about him, they let it go by.

If he somehow holds it together and wins the nomination, the press will turn on him like a piece of red meat thrown into a swamp full of alligators. Playtime will be over then, and not only Barack Obama will lose, but so will Democrats.

He is too Liberal and his head is too in the clouds to win the general election.

Illinois voter   February 23rd, 2008 7:01 pm ET

Barack has gotten more than his share of preferential treatment from the media, but yet he has the nerve to still complain. How arrogant!

Hillary or McCain in '08

Twinkle Toes Mulligan   February 23rd, 2008 7:01 pm ET

I think it's so funny he is calling himself an "insurgent".

In this day of "blowing everything that is said out of proportion", Senator Obama calls himself an insurgent.

rhurst   February 23rd, 2008 7:00 pm ET

Its true the media would treat him differently...The headlines would read "BARACK RIGHT BEHIND HILLARY HE COULD WIN EASILY" The media has glorified this one trick pony....and demonized Hillary Clinton...Does CNN really think all of America is asleep and not PAYING ATTENTION ....I have learned so much about who really tries to run America ,,The media Moguls.....

wanda   February 23rd, 2008 7:00 pm ET

The issue is the blatant adverse bias demonstrated by the media pundits against Hillary. It was most recently seen during the last debate where Obama was allowed more time to respond to answer questions. In addition, an inordinate number of questions were tossed her way first. That tactic certainly gave him an edge where he could piggy back on her answers.

He is becoming more and more arrogant. I hope Americans don't repeat the same mistake that gave us GWB.

Diamond   February 23rd, 2008 7:00 pm ET

Obama is being very polite and humble. But the fact of the matter is, when the wife of a former DEMOCRATIC president, running for the DEMOCRATIC nomination, loses 11 straight DEMOCRATIC contests and she still stays in the race, it is DENIAL and ARROGANCE. Period!

A professional like Hillary Clinton should know when it's time to give up – when people have had enough of you. There was once a moment that belonged to Hillary Clinton. That moment was yesterday. But yesterday is gone and this moment belongs to Barack Obama and to us.

jp/michigan   February 23rd, 2008 6:59 pm ET

You are an opportunist who uses whatever, whomever to get to the political stage you want. Your campaign is a "FAIRY TALE" You remember the one about the" PIPE PIPER " You are leading the American people down an hollow hall to no where. Fill with promises of change and hope. But without the substance and integrity too deliver.

dawn   February 23rd, 2008 6:59 pm ET

Why would the press make such an error? Are they really trying to undo the lead by Obama and McCain. I would think a statement like what the media reported earlier was said by Obama (but was not) would seem out of character. Not that I know the guy or anything?

chuck   February 23rd, 2008 6:59 pm ET

fix your photo caption....it is still incorrect

Saad   February 23rd, 2008 6:59 pm ET

Then please correct the caption under Obama's photo in this article aswell while you're at it.

Obamacan   February 23rd, 2008 6:59 pm ET

CNN TRY CHAGING THE CAPTION ON THE PICTURE.

This is true and this is what the democratic party expect, otherwise, all of the candidates who ran would still be in the race.

alan   February 23rd, 2008 6:59 pm ET

So Obama won 11 rounds. Big Deal. A heavy weight championship fight goes 15 rounds, and Hillary could still go the distance.

Arlene NY   February 23rd, 2008 6:58 pm ET

CNN...Which story is the TRUE story. You may have switched the title of the article yet the Photo caption of Obama stills reads "Obama said Saturday he would drop out if he had lost as many times as Clinton."
So, what really was the Reporters question and Obama's answer?
And also, how about an apology to the Bloggers who had posted their
responses.

Desiree   February 23rd, 2008 6:58 pm ET

The media loves Obama, he can't do anything wrong. I think his ego is getting the best of him and he's beginning to believe what the media says. What goes up will come down and one day people begin to see him as he really is, I hope it will not be too late.

Il Teacher   February 23rd, 2008 6:58 pm ET

Barack needs to respect that Hillary is a fighter and still has a real shot at the nomination. Our political process needs to be allowed to play out until a candidate has been selected. We are American and this process is what makes us great. For the media or Obama to suggest that Hillary drop out when the race is so close is to undermine our democratic process.

Let the race continue...may the best woman or man win!

Obama   February 23rd, 2008 6:58 pm ET

Just like we suppose: Obama will lose to Maccain but Hilary will win. Who knows.

Ghuman   February 23rd, 2008 6:57 pm ET

Its Ironic that Hillary wants to take credit and promote herself as a champion for all good accomplished during Clinton era, but no blame for any wrongs. This is blatant "Hypocrisy".

My 12 year old nephew said something that resonated with me immensely and am sure will do so with other Americans. He said "are we living in a democratic America or a Monarchy where 2 families have ruled USA for 20 years". America today looks like old Europe to me.

JFK didnot have a boatloads of experince, but even till today we consider him as one of the best. Furthermore, the mere fact that both Hillary and McCain vehemently supported Iraq war, NAFTA tells me that experience does not automatically make one better qualified.

If experience was the only criteria, then there would have been no Google, no Microsoft, no Yahoo, no Facebook. All these companies started and flourished under people with little experience but big dreams and big HOPE.

To be a good president, you need to have the ability to inspire and connect with people. There will be hundreds of advisors who will be there to advise on economy, national security, foreign policy.

Is Obama perfect? No he is not. But I do believe that he is the best for America at this time. We want someone who may not embody change, per se, but is our best hope to be a catalyst for change.

wow arrogance really took the better part of him. i find what he said rude (even with the CNN rather quick correction to the earlier version) and very disrepectful. words are important, you are right Mr. Obama. but the words you just used against your opponent just cost you my vote.

Scott Struble   February 23rd, 2008 6:57 pm ET

If the remaining days of her candidacy will be filled with attacks, it's going to be a long two weeks until the Texas primary. It might be time for the Clinton campaign to concede there are few differences on the issues with Obama.

One thing remains true for young voters; anyone under the age of 42 has only seen a Clinton or a Bush on the ballot for President in each general election since they were old enough to vote. Perhaps the country is ready for a real change of leadership.

Carla   February 23rd, 2008 6:57 pm ET

This headline is totally misleading! He had a one word answer, "Yes."

Unresponsible reporting.

Gary   February 23rd, 2008 6:57 pm ET

Wow – was it my imagination or did the title of the story change when I refreshed the page? In any event I wish that the Obama campaign would try harder to stear clear of "cocky" remarks. Like the earlier "it's almost wrapped up story" floated by some of his staff. This kind of thing can blow up in their faces.

Judy   February 23rd, 2008 6:56 pm ET

This is amazing! How many of you read the original article? I hope You Tube had the interview on tape so I can find out the truth! What happened CNN did the Obama Mafia make you change the story because this is the mistake that we have ALL been waiting for! I think this definitely needs investigating!!!!

stanjz   February 23rd, 2008 6:56 pm ET

CNN is once again mis-characterizing Senator Obama's statements. Please read the whole story people.

Please show me where Senator Obama said he would quit if he lost as much as Senator Clinton? You're making it sound like he took a cheap shot at her.

david   February 23rd, 2008 6:56 pm ET

shame on you CNN. your reporting on the same topic was different one hour ago. now you made correction.

Willie   February 23rd, 2008 6:56 pm ET

CNN is sooooo biased. They changed the title of thus article because it showed how biased the reporters are. Obama would be treated differently if CNN wasn't helping them like they are. Plus, Clinton is the juggernaut in this election, she can't quit. Clinton is the fighter of the American people.

Thomas For Hillary   February 23rd, 2008 6:55 pm ET

Nooooo, CNN, don't try to change it now. You know what he said the first time was correct. He is arrogant, pompous, and is on an ego trip. All that will lead to his eventual downfall.

carl   February 23rd, 2008 6:55 pm ET

Thanks for the update

Utterly Ridiculous   February 23rd, 2008 6:55 pm ET

Hmm...if the updated version is accurate, then the picture caption should be changed to reflect that.

Raj   February 23rd, 2008 6:54 pm ET

And that's an honest to god truth :) Nothing to spin or unspin here.

MR   February 23rd, 2008 6:53 pm ET

OBAMA VETTED? NEVER! I'M STILL WAITING TO HEAR ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED WITH LARRY SINCLAIR AND OBAMA? I'M SURE THE REPUBLICANS ARE HOLDING THE STORY FOR SAFEKEEPING.

carl   February 23rd, 2008 6:53 pm ET

All you HUGE Clinton fans calm down.

He said that if he had lost 11 straight contests he would drop out. SO WHAT.

It’s obvious to any casual observer that this is true.

If he had lost 11 in a row he would have a 0% chance of winning the nomination.

He did not say that SHE should drop out, he said HE would have dropped out, and its clear that he would have had no other choice.

The title of the post does sound a little arrogant but read the story and put it into context before you post because you all sound like IDIOTS.

Oh and stop calling CNN biased towards Obama. Would an organization that is biased TOWARDS Obama take his word "yes" and turn it into "I'd quit if I lost like Clinton" NO!!!!

Mike, Georgia   February 23rd, 2008 6:53 pm ET

CNN,

Your reporting is starting to get one-sided like all the Fox Networks!!! Seems as though you are doing most of your stories on Clinton and trying to build her back up...Make sure the headline is correct before you put a story out there...I know this will not get posted, but I hope you guys do read it!

Seems as though you guys are trying to help Hillary come back by putting false headlines out, then trying to retract them with small disclaimers.

Mish   February 23rd, 2008 6:53 pm ET

thank you CNN for correcting that error
thats a big difference as to what was stated earlier
people should realize the contest is close and its bound to get heated at times
they are fighting for the highest political office in the country
lets give them some space to put their arguments out there and give each of them a break
Either one is better than McCain who has such lose comments with his tongue like bomb bomb Iran and wishing someone dead
who needs a leader with that attitude!!

Jack   February 23rd, 2008 6:53 pm ET

Its nice to see Obama's ego is as big as his popularity. This contest is still close and no reason for anyone to quit. I think Obama is now worried that people may actually start looking at him. The media needs to get off their butts and start asking some tough questions. Is it not enough that his own supporters can not name his accomplishments.

M   February 23rd, 2008 6:53 pm ET

The caption below the picture states 'Obama said Saturday he would drop out if he had lost as many times as Clinton', however your update states 'UPDATE: An earlier version of this report incorrectly stated Obama said he would quit if he had lost as many contests as Clinton.'

which is it?

Todd Simpson   February 23rd, 2008 6:52 pm ET

My previous comment to this story was:

For such a strong headline and story, there are some key facts missing. I.E. the text of the question and the answer.

Then it disappeared. And now it's back with an "update". I understand that 24 hour news means networks are constantly looking for stories, but I don't understand how someone could have gotten that first story from the second (correct) story. Did the author even hear the original exchange?

In any event, thank you for the update.

DLM   February 23rd, 2008 6:52 pm ET

UPDATE: An earlier version of this report incorrectly stated Obama said he would quit if he had lost as many contests as Clinton.

How do you incorrectly state something like that? Oh these writers trying to start sh7t all the time.

Obama '08

Enya   February 23rd, 2008 6:52 pm ET

Now your talking Barack!

eyeingtenure   February 23rd, 2008 6:52 pm ET

Never give up, never surrender.

gary   February 23rd, 2008 6:52 pm ET

right man wrong job

hkitty   February 23rd, 2008 6:51 pm ET

You would get treated differently because there is no substance to your campaign. Everyone would be saying the American people are seeing through this guy. Right now, Obama supporters are just grasping for feel good messages that are not going to solve our problems.

Erin   February 23rd, 2008 6:51 pm ET

You've gotten different treatment from the start. You have been given the royal treatment from the press. You act like you are beyond reproach. The press refuses to report your negatives or question anything you say or do--and it is that treatment that has made a delusional and misguided public vote for you.

Eric S   February 23rd, 2008 6:51 pm ET

yeah, right. Obama is such an opportunist.

Linda   February 23rd, 2008 6:51 pm ET

Where are the other comments posted on this article? Did CNN trying to halt or expose these comments against Obama?

Liliana Peterson, California   February 23rd, 2008 6:50 pm ET

I can't stand your arrogance!!

Derrick S. Douglas   February 23rd, 2008 6:50 pm ET

I am through with CNN...the most pathetic new forum. How the hell you post a story that was not true...and then within 10 mins...put another story stating that it had false information within the original article...you guys are sooooo sad.

No one ever takes your news serious...because you are known to do what you just did.

changing times   February 23rd, 2008 6:50 pm ET

Ha! I told you they had misrepresented what Obama said and what he had been asked. Now if they would only change the caption on the picture; it's still incorrect.

independent   February 23rd, 2008 6:50 pm ET

this story sure changed in a hurry. i thought obama said he would quit if he "lost as much as clinton".

the delegate race is still incredibly close and clinton has the popular vote. oh yeah, and some of the biggest states that she is strong in are still coming up.

why would anyone call on her to drop out? no one did that to obama. this story is weird.

Jordan Clinton   February 23rd, 2008 6:50 pm ET

Obama said Saturday he would drop out if he had lost as many times as Clinton.

oopps CNN,you forgot to change your pic caption. Now what did Obama really say???

Ann   February 23rd, 2008 6:49 pm ET

Cnn, you disappoint me, changing posts to make it sound prettier for your favorite... sad to see this.

Wesley   February 23rd, 2008 6:49 pm ET

The john glenn endorsement did it for me.

Living in TX, I wil know vote for Clinton.

Ian   February 23rd, 2008 6:49 pm ET

Hmm smooth move, CNN...

tima   February 23rd, 2008 6:49 pm ET

Thanks for fixing the article. This will totally change the tone of the comments.

U.S. Army Vet.   February 23rd, 2008 6:49 pm ET

Paraphrasing LL Cool J:

I'm gonna knock you out.
Obama said knock you out.
I'm gonna knock you out.
Obama said knock you out.

Listen to the vote go boom.
Exciting!
Overpowering!
Every time Obama speaks/Hillary's lead shrinks.
Letting you know Democrats can’t win/unless they nominate him.

I'm gonna knock you out.
Obama said knock you out.
I'm gonna knock you out.
Obama said knock you out.

Margie   February 23rd, 2008 6:49 pm ET

You never posted my previous response on "Shame on You, Obama
This tells me, that you are ashamed of yourselves for being so obvious in your support of Sen. Obama.

hkitty   February 23rd, 2008 6:49 pm ET

Love how CNN is controlling the message!!

John   February 23rd, 2008 6:48 pm ET

Wow, is this a mainstream media network? You should issue an apology for falsely paraphrasing what Obama asked. In the words of Billary, SHAME ON YOU CNN.

Jay   February 23rd, 2008 6:48 pm ET

Shame on you CNN. You changed the article headline and deleted all 39 anti-obama comments. Too much pressure from the Obama camp huh? I thought the first title was much more accurate.
You changed the wording in the article too.. Where is his " I would quit" statement... Lame CNN, very Lame.

Laura   February 23rd, 2008 6:48 pm ET

No he wouldn't be treated differently. He's the media's darling.
