I had a lot of respect for Nader, but this is rather sad. This is the kind of actions and proposed changes that go nowhere.

"dissent is the mother of Ascent." yeah, and a decompose body is the mother of maggots

what a looser logic/philosophy

We've just seen Raul Castro confirmed as president of Cuba, and Americans are complaining about having more choice in our presidential election? Having just one more choice than Cuba, China, and North Korea is the ideal? It's distressing that that doesn't concern more people.

Nader was not the only third party candidate on the ballot in Florida in 2000; is the argument that none of them should have the right to run? Unless you belong to the Democratic or Republican party, you can't run for president? That's the logical next step of the majority of the comments on here.

And, sure, it's easy to scapegoat Nader--it's much easier to blame someone else when you lose. Gore should have wiped the floor with Bush; Kerry should have wiped the floor with him.

Finally, anyone who has bothered to learn anything about Nader knows he doesn't do this to stroke his ego. To say so is pure ignorance which can be easily remedied by opening up a biography.

Sounds like most don't want Nader in because he may take the vote away from Obama since most of you believe Hillary is out. The exit polls showed this to be true Obama is getting most of the independent vote.

Hillary is not getting much help from independent vote so this won't affect her as much, if she wins the nomination she has all her supporters not the independent vote. So Obama may be in trouble. This may have a whole different outcome of who is more electable. Even though it is probably to late for Hillary. If Nader would have come out earlier we may be looking at a whole new ball game.

Alot were saying if Hillary won then all the independents would vote for McCain well looks like now they will vote for Nader.

I LOVED the comment from someone above who said he refuses to vote for a MEDIA/OBAMA ticket. BRILLIANT comment! And I TOTALLY agree!! Like I (tried) to say above, the One and Only way I will vote for Obama, is IF HILLARY CLINTON WERE ON THE TICKET.

Ralph Nader put George Bush in the White House and many Americans hate him for that. I know it sure changed my opinion of him.

Ralph, buy a clue and go away. Far far away.

A comment about CNN's "unfiltered" Ballot Bowl:

I am certain you won't print this, but I hope Wolf and others will read it. I was in the middle of listening to Hillary's speech in Rhode Island a few minutes ago, and you rudely disrupted it with your commentary. UNFILTERED... MY BUTT!

Please replay the entire speech so we and the rest of the world can hear her wonderful points on Obama's empty words. She has been holding back hoping not to make these points, but too many people are being Obamatized and she has a duty to point people to the truth. SO DOES CNN!!!

I think SNL made that pretty clear to the media last night, so it is time that the media listens, too. Get back to reporting and cut the slanted commentary please!!!

Mr. Nader is in fact a huge threat to the Democratic party and his running for office should not be taken lightly.
If Mr. Obama was to win the Democratic nod, the Republicans will take the office again. That is fact, he does not have the experience to back up his speech... Never done a thing for his state, never done a thing for our country, never even owned a business and only two years in public office... With that said, the fact that Mrs. Clinton supporters would majority vote McCain and Independents would vote Nader, the Democratic party is screwed...
We must put Clinton in or we are in for four more years of this crap!!!!

Nadir should start by being a governor or a senator before trying to win the White House. He should try to gain more experience in order to have a better chance to win the big race.

He would struggle to win position of a governor or senator, so how would he expect to win the White House? He doesn't. He just wants to help the republicans continue to dominate the White House policies.

I hope democrats will not be dumb enough to waste a vote on this guy again. People voting for him in 2000 is the reason the democrats lost the White House to the current administration. The current administration has ripped this country apart and placed us in an endless war in Iraq.

Gore lost to Bush by 500 votes in Florida in 2000. If Nadir had not been in the race, the democratic party would have controlled the White House. I hope democrats will not make the same mistake again this time around and vote for a candidate that has no chance to win and will help the republicans continue their current control.

Obama can not beat McCain. Wake up people!

Be wise, elect HIllary for the nomination. She picks Obama for VP, and they win by a landslide. Any other combination, and McCain is president.

I will vote for Hillary based on this analysis on March 4th in Texas.

on meet the press nader gave his reasons for entering the presidential race-listening to them, the list seemed the same that it has been for years and years. the only thing he left out was the corvair automobile! he is a plant for the republican party, and i mean just that......a plant.
he must be paid well by the republicans to disrupt the election. the republicans cannot duplicate the momentum for mccain that has been generated to barak obama. the other day they talked maybe they could get condi rice to team up with mccain. that would beat out the democrat ticket. it would be a black woman as a vice president. WOW! what a ticket that would be. well, back to nader, the republicans and nader have really stooped so very low.

When will this guy pull his hand out of his shirt front and take off the Napoleon hat and go back to bed?

Nader will blunt Barack's hype. Mahalo Ralph! Now all we need is Michael Bloomberg.

I will vote for anyone but the arrogant, self serving, pontificating, ego driven, control hungry baby Barack and his instant gratification mantra.

Re: Barack's Nader comment - Wow! Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! :)

Hillary the HOPE of 08

Hillary can do the hard work of reconciliation and restoration that is necessary for true forgiveness. This will bring real change

Well, if so many Hillary lovers hate Obama so much that they would vote for Nader if Obama wins,

then I will be just as ignorant and promise I will vote for Nader if Hillary wins.

So that just about guarantees the democratic party will self-destruct once again.

So . . . .

Long live the war in Iraq!
Long live no health care!
Long live inflation out-pacing our wages!
Long live tax cuts for the rich!
Long live the exporting of our jobs!
Long live our threatening of countries around the world with bombs and death!

Long live the republicans!!!

Welcome President McCain. Who should we attack first?

Ralph Nader is apparently seeking more attention for himself again. Instead of working with a candidate, working with other elected officials, working with people in various organizations around the country who want to see change, peace, and the economy turn around, Mr. Nader thinks he should attempt a last minute stab at the White House again. Why? His ego must be more prominent than his street smarts for doing stupid things.

This is just as sad and George W. thinking he did anything good in the last 8 years.

Woe is U.S.

Hillary is the candidate that can take on both and win. People better stop and rethink where they are trying to head in this election. There will be a lot of people expressing regrets if they do not.

Clinton is correct. Nader is an unwanted distraction and anyone who votes for him is handing the presidency over to the Republicans and allowing them to keep our men and women in Iraq for "maybe a hundred years," which according to McCain is fine with him. It's not fine with me; come on Texas and Ohio, let Clinton bring them home!

Here we go again! We probably wouldn't be in the mess we are in now if he hadn't helped the Republicans in 2000. That didn't end up helping his cause. Despite his wonderful work, there comes a time when you need to put your cause before your own interests.

Now we have another old man joining McCain in the race. Is there no age limit?

Now at least there is a white man people can vote for on the left.

Selfishness at best! Why does a man who know he stands no chance this late in winning the general election enter the race? For those democrats who say they'd vote for Nader should Obama win the nomination, keep in mind how your attitude epitomizes the divisive politics that has led this country to chaos. Please, do not vote out of spite.

Oh, wonderful. The Great, Gangling Nebbish is in the race, the man who handed the White House to George W. Bush and then later had the audacity to call for his impeachment. I certainly hope the people who voted for him in 2000 have the common sense to rethink that choice.

As a rule I like to give some respect to people who run for office, But this deserves NONE. Ralph Nader , who once had a voice that carried some significance is now a PATHETIC SHADOW of his former self. If CNN, FOX, NBC, CBS and ABC wants to do the rest of the world a favor.. IGNORE HIM!!! He is not worth the time PERIOD. He will have the same over all effect in this race as pouring a gallon of water would effect the height of an ocean ...NONE. Some people just can't face the fact that their time has come and gone..Its pretty SAD...

While I admire R. Nader's stance on the environment and his dedicated efforts on the behalf of American consumers, it's incredibly sad that his ego is such that he believes this race needs him. He helped George Bush in 2000 by taking votes away from Al Gore. Thanks a lot, Ralph.

When you vote for a 3rd party (like R. Nader) you are only helping the party you like least (Bush in 2000 and now McCain, in 2008).

If you really care for this county, Mr. Nader, please reconsider what you are doing.

this is an interesting developement. Obama will have his hands full with this. He will not only have McCain to deal with, but also Nader to the left of him. And if appears that Obama will be the proverbial "monkey in the middlle".

We shall see how the talented young politicial handles this new development. This will be an election that will be talked about for years and years to come.

Rlaph Nader is obviously working for the GOP as some type of operative. They see that Obama is virtually unstopppable, and may be the most popular candidate since JFK, and they call up old man Nader to shake things up a little. Lol..I actually feel bad for Nader, he has no idea what he's up against in Barack Obama. Obama will own him from day one, and at 74, Nader will be viewed as completely out of touch with average Americans. He's make a decent economic advisor to the Obama administration, but don't call us Ralph, we'll call you!
OBAMA 08!!!

I wonder how much Rove and the GOP paid this jerk to be a spoiler again? Unless he is retarded, he must know that he can never, ever win. He is viewed as a little unhinged by most of America.
